Being from out of province, I was thankful for the City Centre Urgent Primary Care Centre's staff! Hands down, from my time travelling from coast to coast, this was hands down one of the best experience in a healthcare facility! The staff were friendly, confident in their organizational skills and were strong communicators. Highly Recommend!
AVOID AT ALL COSTS Weirdest clinic I’ve ever been to in my life. If I had to pick some descriptive words I’d pick incompetent and embarrassing. The staff running the front desk have no idea what they’re doing, the guy who sat us was extremely rude and unhelpful and not just to us but to everyone who came in. They bring you into a room right beside all the people waiting to be seen and ask you in detail why you are there. There’s no option not to speak about it. Everyone who is waiting to be seen can hear what you are telling that nurse. It is EXTREMELY embarrassing. Never coming here again and if you can help it I’d avoid this place.
The doctors and nurses at this clinic were so kind to me today. Although there is always going to be a wait at these things, the triage nurse and the other nurse who took me to the room ( I think her name started with a K ) was so friendly and made me feel very comfortable as did Dr. Niall, I felt very cared for especially with being very anxious about being very sick in these times. I’m very grateful for the type of medical care we have access to here.
I got to the clinic last night at 9:30 for a bad infection on my legs and they took me right in and got me looked at, treated, talked to the dr for 15 min got all the info I needed and then my legs re dressed and was on my way at 10pm when they closed. The only comment I have and only thing I would change in the clinic is when the nurses ask you why you are there visiting the clinic to maybe have a more private room to do so in so that people in the waiting room don't have to hear your symptoms and vice versa. I'm sure there are a few patients with potentially embarrassing symptoms that they don't want shared with the whole room. Otherwise I have no complaints at all. Thank you for the speedy service and the help I needed and advice that made me feel better about going home
I’ve been here a few times and generally happy with their service. They are very well organized for a walk-in clinic. Sometimes the wait times can be a bit long but that is expected for a walk-in clinic.
This place was excellent. Would highly recommend if you ever have a need for urgent care. Keep in mind that this system is best for certain problems and not others. If you're trying to have a complicated condition diagnosed, try a family doctor or even just repeatedly going to the same walk-in so they have your records and can follow-up on specialist referrals. Same for prescription referrals - go to a walk in or if truly impossible ask your pharmacist to provide a few until you can see a doctor. Urgent care is most useful for 'one and done' type issues where you need some kind of treatment that a family doctor cannot always provide. They are able to do x-ray, ultrasound, and lab tests on site and use the results on the same day to determine treatment, and are I assume are great at caring for wounds, broken bones, allergies, etc. If you go to get a prescription filled, it will likely take a while since they are busy dealing with more urgent problems. I have found calling Healthlink BC and speaking to a nurse to be effective in deciding where to go for medical treatment. Bring reading material. Anyway, highly recommend.
3 hours to see doctor for urgent xray for the finger injury while tons of people are getting their covid test done. Really bad experience. It seems that they do not have doctor in the morning.
Best all-in-all clinic downtown! Arndeep - the front desk nurse I'm guessing - is excellent. Even though they're incredibly busy, he immediately got up and came around to see why I went there as soon as I walked in. He acted on it promptly and then I was in the capable hands of Dr. Chang, who was actually present in our session and kind, he took his time putting a caste on me while maintaining conversation :-) I'm definitely coming back if I ever need medical help.
If you are going for anything other than a COVID test, the walk in centre terribly organized. They don’t keep you informed on what’s happening and won’t commit to telling you how long you will be waiting. I waited an hour and then just left.
I have visited this clinic twice for my son. We felt completely comfortable there and the staff treated us with respect. Doctors prescriptions also were helpful and resulted in cure. The only drawback is the long waiting period. Overall, in future cases I will refer to this center again and I recommend it to others who want to visit a doctor on the same day they need a health consultation.
They don't tell you this they say waiting for MRI results is 1-2 hours but I've already been here and waiting for 3 hours. This is the only place you can get your MRI results if you want to get it after the sweet 2 weeks time they take to upload it. Be prepared to pay >$15 in parking or just walk on your torn ACL here.
If you have to go to urgent care in the Downtown / West End, City Centre Urgent Primary Care Centre is where you should go. With X-Ray and Lab on premises it's very convenient. The staff were the most helpful and friendliest of any urgent care places I've been to. They fixed me up and made follow-up appointments with necessary specialists.
I had to travel because of a medical emergency and was unable to get a rtpcr Covid19 test done for my international flight. I called and Denise helped me organise the test. She went out of the way in helping me and I got my report in just a couple of hours. I really appreciate the empathy, promptness and efficiency of the staff here. God bless them!
You do have to wait for a while but highly recommend it!
I arrived at 7:45 (clinic opens at 8) and was able to wait inside until opening. I was the first in line, and when I left at 8:35 there were only a couple people in the waiting room. I was given time to ask questions during my time with the doctor and didn't feel rushed at any point. Tests I needed were done on site.
Very nice building , clean , lots of room to sit and adequate / timely Service! I was in and out within 2 hours ! staff seemed nice but they didnt talk much because of the busy Environment. There wasnt much to keep the customers busy while waiting, The lobby could use a T/V , newspapers or something to keep people busy while waiting
That 1 Doctor was excellent in his mannerisms, advice and prescription that he gave to me. He went beyond to make sure I was taken care of. It made me happy when I left there! The nurse was good, but i felt she didn't spend enough time with me. The receptionists were good too , however they did alot of talking& laughing amongst each other. Perhaps that time could have been spent with dealing with the patients or other things.
We took our 3.5 month old daughter here on the weekend. The service and care that we received was honestly the best I've ever received from a walk-in clinic. Would highly recommend. Staff were professional, polite and informative.
Revising my review . Generally I find the service here excellent but both the wait times have absolutely skyrocketed and , more concerningly, they mix people who are obviously symptomatic with COVID there to test in close proximity in the same waiting room space with people who are there for unrelated issues. There is really zero excuse for this as they have a system to text people for their slot and they are not utilizing it. Their idea is masks and distancing are enough.
Poorly equipped and several of the nurses have a bad attitude. My sister was sent here by her doctor upstairs in the same building because of complications from a procedure done there. She was in a lot of pain and barely able to stand so the doctor arranged with the staff and wrote a letter to make her admission quicker. But the admitting nurse wouldn’t read the letter and instead kept asking her things that were already in the letter. I asked if she could please let my sister lie down and I would answer everything she needed but she refused. Finally after lying down in a room a nurse came in and said she could offer Tylenol and Advil even though my sister had already taken some and wasn’t able to keep it down. Just as she was about to try taking it again a doctor came in and told her not to take it and he would order something that would work faster. An hour later with my sister still in pain I went to ask if she could please get what the doctor ordered. Finally a nurse came and gave it to her (didn’t even tell her what it was). The doctor ordered an ultrasound and said a nurse would bring water for her to drink in preparation. The ultrasound technician arrived but still no water, so he went to ask the nurse to bring water. She said, “There’s water outside she can get it herself.”She was undressed and in pain, and no one had told her to get the water herself. Anyway just wish the nurses could be more caring and sympathetic.
Brilliant, lab work and x rays all in one place on the same day! A bit of a wait but worth it for those without life threatening issues but can't wait either to see their usual doctor. Lab staff were truly amazing!
I really wanted to love this place. I went here because I appreciate that this centre takes the pressure of the hospital’s emergency department. However, I waited 5.5 hours to have two procedures done, then was referred to emergency where I had to have the exact same procedures done and wait another 4.5 hours. The doctor at St Paul’s told me one of the procedures done at the urgent care clinic was an “informal” version. My experience was that it was done well and comprehensively. Neither of the two doctors I spoke to knew about the urgent care clinic and seemed confused about what it was. They received limited information from the urgent care clinic so had to repeat the invasive procedures I had just done. I feel it would have been better to skip this clinic and go straight to emergency. There needs to be more advocacy about what this clinic does and more integration of information with emergency departments at St Paul’s and other hospitals.
I went into this facility with a lot of pain from what I thought was an infection in my elbow. The staff went out of their way to make me feel calm and much healthier. From the start, the triage nurse Annette took the time to listen and understand my symptoms, even-though they were extremely busy she remained calm. I then had the pleasure of having the most humble, gracious doctor I have ever met Dr. Adham! He stayed over 2 hours past his shift just to make sure the treatment I received would work. Thank you for everyone at this facility and everyone in our health care system!!
Every member of the Urgent Primary Care Centre staff (doctors, nurses, and all) were kind, patient, and professional. Thank you for your great work and commitment to provide the best care possible.
I was totally shocked when I went to City Centre Urgent care for an injury to my hand to find out that it is a testing centre for COVID. No where on the opening page of their website does it say that they test for COVID. I would never have gone there if I knew that. Apparently I was told by one of the staff that it is the only place in Vancovuer where they mix COVID testing with other non COVID symptom patients. The doctors and nurses where excellent but I am rating this poorly because of the mixing of COVID testing with other non-COVID symptoms patients
This clinic is superb. I had high fever today so went there. There were only 2 3 people ahead of me so my number came within 30-40 mins. Post that, i was provided very nice care. I wss shifted to a bed inside for blood samples etc. They gave my tylenol and i rested there till blood reports came. The rest helped my health. I had a very high fever and it is gone for now. The nurse, doctor and staff were very understanding, kind and superfriendly. There was so much attention to detail. Thank you so much.
I received amazing service form the team urgent primary care North Vancouver - I had three issues to discuss and each one of them was given full care and attention. Highly recommended.
Very friendly and professional staff - listened attentively and explained everything thoroughly. Thank you!
Attended this clinic for my second covid19 testing. There was less confusion this time and the wait time was better. The signage at the door was informative. As with my first visit in the summer, all staff were friendly, efficient and professional. The clinic is small so people have to wait outside and allowed to enter in small groups for testing. My wait outside was approx 2.5 hours. I recommend that you dress for the weather and bring drinks/nibbles. On a side note, I found it odd that some of people in line who were there for testing because they are having covid19 symptoms were not wearing masks, some were wearing them incorrectly, and some were not social distancing, even though instructed to do so by staff.
This place is great. It would be five stars if it weren't for all of the crack-heads and heroin addicts sleeping on the pavement outside the door. One guy was covered in so many itch scabs, I took an hour long shower when I got back home. It's sad that children have to see that kind of stuff.
Fast & responsive. I was happy with the service. The area is also very clean.
This Urgent Care is triage grade! The staff are helpful, polite, respectful, and down right friendly. They have a lot of equipment on hand to help figure out what's going on with your body. While the wait time at some times can be long... It's very worth the wait! Some tests they can do and tell you the results within the time of your visit if you can be patient. *If you don't think you will need a test that requires you having fasted, bring a snack and drink! Don't forget your pocket charger for your phone either... And your headphones.
I did not wait for care! How refreshing. The staff took their time with me and my annoying pink eye at 8pm on a Thursday. Gave me several great tips for care at home and also a prescription. Confirmed that my tearful decision to skip my kids' Winter Concert was appropriate as I was super contagious -- I/we can feel smug that we all averted an epidemic -- Thank you and you are welcome. Happy Holidays : )
This clinic is a gem! Everyone was so amazing and the waiting time was reasonable. Overall, excellent experience.
Needed to see a physician for Urgent Care. The line was relatively long, but this was to be expected as this is a COVID-19 testing location. The line was well-managed, staff were very respectful. I appreciated the ample sanitizer available, physical distancing inside was respected and everyone was friendly. 100% would recommend people come here for non-emergencies rather than clog up the ER!
I'm not used to writing reviews. But a terrible approach from the staff, I asked for help and I had questions that I did not even get answered. very bad experience! I do not recommend
Very professional, patient-centered staff who take informed consent seriously. They provided thorough explanations while leaving room for questions without making you feel like you're being rushed to leave (not covid testing related, cannot attest to that side of things). Thank you for your care
My first time here - suggested by 811. Parking was easy, the wait time was minimal. Staff were friendly and competent. I had my x ray right away and was provided with my diagnosis, a sample medication, as well as prescription medication. This was a very efficient method of delivering urgent care. We need one in Richmond!
Dont believe the online wait times. I came in around 950-10am because the wait time online said it would be 50min. Its now almost 2pm and i havent seen a doctor yet. They also dont seperate covid patients and non covid patients.
Maria and Siti were incredibly helpful today. We came in with a last-minute travel Covid test request, and they went the distance to communicate with the lab regarding timing, explain our options, and help us find the best solution.
Excellent clean facilities with kind and caring staff. Dr gropper was clear and consice with his diagnosis. The triage nurse Jess was very professional and polite. Patient care co-ordinator Melissa was incredibly helpful, offering advice and insight into my case. Fantasic place will never go anywhere else again.
first of all, thanks to the frontline workers through these tough times. they were very nice and informational when i got swabbed. but I've called more than once everyday for 4 days, asking for my covid19 result, saying that they havent got my result (supposed to take 2-3 business days) and said they misplaced my sample. i've called everyday and they didn't have the idea to check properly with the supervisors or labs. this shouldn't have happened. only on my 3rd call they told me to contact the BCCDC hotline, the receptions/nurse didn't tell me about the hotline when i got swabbed. due to this i missed an important flight and had to reschedule.
You need to get there early just in case of a line up . Safety protocols are in affect with mandatory masks and limited access to the floor by one dedicated elevator. Prompt courteous staff, what more do you need? If at any time some nit wit makes a bad report here it is up to you to soften the effect upon the nurses or the doctor ,not just assume they can brush it aside .
The reception person and triage nurse were respectful, calm and friendly. And it was near the end of their day! The waiting room is very small, the triage room has a glass door so no info can be heard. The problem is that they don't yet have equipment to examine the eye! So I wouldn't go there with an eye problem. Otherwise they seem great!
Yesterday we attended this center for a fall my husband took a week ago. His leg had become inflamed. The staff were attentive and the Doctor was kind and knew his stuff. We were able to access X-Ray onsite. I would have given 5stars if they hadn't treated him as a addict. Nothing given (asked for low grade pain reliever for a couple 2-3 evenings for sleep) denied a Tylenol 3-4. Yet grateful that we didn't have to go to Hospital. Excellent safety measures in place, staff attentive and they listen. We were in and out in just over an hour !! Thank you team!
After waiting a lot less than I would have at the Emergency room at the nearby hospitals I went to the pharmacy to pick up the pain medication my doctor had asked the staff here to fax over. I arrive at the pharmacy 45 minutes later. They have a received anything. I call just before 10 pm and ask what’s going on. “Oh, sometimes faxes take a few hours” Well then why didn’t you tell me this? “I guess we should have” They were closed so I couldn’t go get it, and refused to forward it in any other manner. 90 minutes later, still nothing. Sad to have a nice place ruined by morons who apparently don’t care at a Urgent Care Centre
Been at the centre in North Vancouver a number of times. The most recent one was yesterday January 27, 2022. I expected the waiting room to be full - - I was the only one there! I was taken into a consultation room immediately and was attended to by two RNs who were professional, caring and knowledgeable. I had my original reason for being there dealt with and I wondered if I was allowed to ask a question about another unrelated issue I had. They said sure, it wasn't busy at the time, and proceeded to deal with that in the same professional manner. The centre is reasonably new and clean, tidy and bright. It was a pleasure to deal with the staff and to be situated in comfortable, safe surroundings. Thank you to you all for once again proving your worth!!!
Second time I’ve had a bad experience visiting this clinic, and the second experience was worse unfortunately. I was visiting under the strict advice of the BCCDC to take a second COVID test as I was exposed and had possibly gotten the first test too early. I was met with an incredible amount of resistance and annoyance from the nurse who hesitantly tested me in the end. I was told I was wrong and that there was no chance of my being tested falsely negative and met with a condescending attitude and disbelief as to the symptoms I was very clearly displaying. I left the clinic very upset and questioned the efficacy of the testing procedures, which during this scary and uncertain time is not what healthcare should look like.
A LIFESAVER, best place in the city!!! You do have to wait for a while sometimes but given the fact you can go without an appointment, it’s pretty good for any urgent need.
They not only take good care of you. They're all so nice. Much needed.
All the staff are extremely friendly, kind and helpful. Even with a full waiting room and a 2 plus hour wait, they were very efficient while maintaining a peaceful calming atmosphere.
Staff is friendly and efficient, nurses were lovely, the technician and the doctor explained everything clearly and were super helpful. The spaces are clean and sanitized constantly. I had a very positive experience.
Had a terrible experience getting a covid test here. I've had many covid tests because of my profession, and this was the most painful and uncomfortable test I have ever received. Then, tho I paid extra to have my results within 24 hours, it has been more than 24 hours and I have not received my results. I have tried calling the office and cannot get through to anyone on the phone. I had to change my flight. I would never return to this facility. Please be advised.
Over 2hrs wait to get a covid test... Very long. They do not seperate people who come for a covid test vs people who are at the clinic for other reasons. Poor system.
One stop shop for your urgent care needs. These people are organized, professional and have great customer service skills. I waited for over 4 hours today but I knew I was in good hands the whole time.
The staff are very professional, caring and attentive. I always feel comfortable coming here when I am experiencing a health challenge that doesn't require emergency room attendance... which usually is very stressful.
Nice staff but insane wait times. Arrived when they opened at 8AM as one of the first people in and didn’t see a doc until 12PM. I guess that’s what happens when you privatize health care!
Just amazing! I was first in line 30 mins before it opened, first one to see the nurse and first one to see the doctor. I passed a bunch of tests and got my results right away. The staff was very nice, really understanding nurses and very nice and kind doctor. 10/10!
The staff here is overall quite good. The reason for my average review is that I went there mid-week to get a covid test and was turned away. It was 9:20 pm. They are open until 10:00. There were 3 other patients in the waiting room. If they have a cutoff time earlier than their posted close time it should be clearly stated. If you plan to visit in the evening I recommend calling first.
I was very ill with what turned out to be pneumonia, and it was Saturday evening. I was dreading going to Emerg, knowing how chaotic it always is there. The nurse on the 811 line recommended going to this place instead, and I was very impressed. It was clean and calm, the staff were all smiling and efficient. There was a wait, but it wasn't unendurable. I was treated with friendly respect.
I usually have a great experience but Dr. Feeney wasted my time and booked me in for an ultrasound that I didn't ask for. I wanted the nuchal translucency ultrasound for between 11-13 weeks. He had no idea what I was talking about but acted like he did. I told him I have a due date and all I need was that check up. He told me I can get this test done at 9 weeks and he'll refer me for one. He booked me in to figure out how far along I am and didn't think to tell me this clinic doesn't even offer what I was looking for. Thanks for acting like you're doing your job but lying about it and wasting my time. Maybe next time be honest and say you don't know what I'm looking for and refer me to another clinic.
The facility is clean, it’s well organized, they have excellent policies and procedures in place that take into consideration the health and wellbeing of both the patients and staff. I am pleased that this facility exists and that these doctors care enough about the patients in the community to offer in patient care. The wait times are long (3+ hours) but the staff is kind, courteous and the medial doctors are amazing. They are tirelessly filling in and providing required in person service that the primary care physicians are refusing to provide during a pandemic. This urgent care centre is bridging the gap on the northshore. The long wait times are due to the high volume of patients not being seen by their primary care physicians at this time and not due to the clinic itself. The clinic is very efficiently run in every sense of the word. During the pandemic most walk in clinics and physician’s offices are not having in person visits. its leaving the majority of patients without primary care. This shouldn’t be happening during a pandemic. Some situations are not considered emergencies so a visit to the hospital isn’t necessary but there are certain things that require in person care. the family doctors only doing virtual visits it makes attending to issues that require in person difficult and things are not being addressed properly or missed. This urgent care centre fills that void. They will see patients that require in person care that don’t require a trip to the emergency room. This is one positive that came out of this adverse situation.
I came here with a problem with my foot because of how good the reviews are on Google are about this place. I wasn't let down. Friendly and professional staff lots of covid-19 protocols places in place, super clean and for an urgent care center the time to see a doctor was reasonable. Also the doctor was very friendly and did a amazing job treating my problem.
I had an excellent experience at this urgent care walk-in clinic. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Dr Murata who treated me was such a kind and caring person, took time asking about my health and really listened to me and helped me. Vancouver is lucky to have this place.
Every member of the team at the clinic acted patiently, calmly, professionally and conducted themselves marvelously! They helped provide information in a calm and patient manner and were incredible during the process from when I came through the front door to when I left. These professionals are going above and beyond their call of duty! It is busy if you'd like to see a doctor, the wait can be long. We are in a pandemic, so there is increased demand! Just bring a book or some music, some cosy clothes and be patient. It looked like it was a quick in and out if people were just seeking a covid test and met the CDC's criteria.
So I sprained my wrist and didn't want to clog emergency with the issue. Came here instead because online said it had a lower wait time and faster turn over rate. Waited an hour and 20 minutes to just have a room to see the doctor, which was a chair outside of rooms because they didn't have a room available for me. Now I've been waiting another hour and 20 minutes and haven't even seen a doctor yet. Apparently you need a full day off work to see a doctor in this country. Did I mention I haven't seen a doctor yet and it's almost been 3 hours. Update: 3 hours in and the nurse reclined my chair.
Exceptional! I took my daughter here last night. The service and care that we received was outstanding! Staff were very friendly, polite and professional specially Dr. Sharky and RN Rosalinda! I would highly recommend this facility! Way to go! Shout out to all frontliners out there!
Very pleasant experience. The doctors and nurses are very professional, kind and patient. Facility is clean and well maintained. This is definitely the one I will recommend to my friends if the have a need to go!
Covid testing site. Arrived at 8:50. Finished at 12:20pm. People were in line since 7ish. They distributed numbers after opening for the people already in line. After that they stopped giving out numbers and told the people who came after 9:15 that they at full capacity and will not accept patients for covid testing anymore. The facility is clean and staff were efficient.
This is such a great Care Centre to visit. Everyone is so pleasant, attentive and caring. They treat you with respect and make you feel welcome. I especially want to single out Dr. Katherina Choka who saw me. I have seen many doctors in my 64 years, with asthma and allergies as a child, and Dr. Choka is the best doctor I have ever encountered. She is everything you want your doctor to be. She listens, she explains everything in detail and she genuinely cares. She is a wonderful human being. If you have to visit the Centre, I hope you're lucky enough to be seen by Dr. Choka!
The only complaint I have may just be me but waiting maybe 15 minutes for triage then being asked to wait another two hours (during which time I wandered around downtown) seems kind of long. Nothing wrong otherwise, though. My care wasn't urgent but Cross Roads Clinics referred me when I showed up there because they weren't doing walk-ins anymore. I got into a fight the day before and just wanted a doctor to check and see if there was anything to be concerned about past being sore and waiting to heal. There was a middle-aged man there with a head injury and a bandage around his head. Looked convincing, at least. It might have been a good way to get ahead in the line.
They giving a rapid test for Covid 19 to do at home - 1 kit for one person ( not possible to collect for someone). I came with my baby and they did to her PCR test (Only certain people are allowed to do a PCR test, like babies, pre-flight travelers, medical staff. The rest of the people get a home test) . The service was great. The PCR test results arrive after 28 hours approximately ( test in January 2022).
The clinic is very fast and efficient. The triage nurse was great and staff are very friendly. One complaint is that the triage office door does not close all the way and therefore compromises patient confidentiality as the conversation can be heard throughout the waiting area. As a retired physician, I find this very concerning. Otherwise, a very well run clinic.
Very very bad service. Waited in line for more than 2 hours and a lady that called herself chief of the nurses would take people who were way behind in line to get service. She wouldn’t even ask people what were they waiting for. Most of people were waiting for covid assessment - not my case, I had a health issue, and still no one spoke to me - even though I was the first in line for more than 45 minutes. If you can go to another clinic, please do, and save yourself some time. Such a waste of over 2 hours of my day.
Excellent service provided by all staff, particularly Dr Gropper & Nurse Jess. We were seen within minutes of entering the clinic. The facility was also in excellent condition. Special thanks to patient care coordinator Melissa for answering our questions during out short wait for Dr Gropper.
I Was In The Clinic With My Son.Since I Came In Canada,I Been In Hospitals and Clinics For My Own reason.they all nice and proffentional but this place start from nurses and doctor they are so mean, unproffentional, rude, plus receist.i will never go back there.
The staff were all kind and welcoming! The very best experience I have had at a walk in clinic!!!
The staff was very nice to me and went above and beyond in terms of care provided. The wait was very short. It was very clean, it was actually spotless ! The physician was very down to earth and approachable. I would recommend this clinic to anyone with a non-emergent health problem who wants to avoid a long ER wait time.
2 Hrs waiting time is acceptable for me. Plus Doctor Barclay is super nice and gentle. While he was asking me questions about my sickness,I feel be cared. He asked me many equations and also listen to me carefully. He also was very patient to explain my illness to me. I had very satisified experience for this visit!
I didn't even know this urgent care clinic existed until a friend of mine told me about it. It's clean and I noticed that if you need xrays, an ultrasound or a prescription filled ~ it's all there!
I arrived today around 1130 at the clinic. I asked one of the nurses how many people were ahead of me(I was aware that this clinic is not first come, first served basis) . The nurse told me it would not take that long to see a doctor, so I decided to wait. I was seen by a triage nurse, and waited for longer than 2 hrs in the waiting area. Then I was waiting for an additional 1 hr and 30 minutes in an exam room. I had bug bites and had signs of infection(swelling, pain, hot, itchiness, blisters, etc). My symptoms were getting worse, so I thought I needed to be assessed. After I waited for almost 4 hrs, nobody still didn't seem to care about me. When I asked how long I have to wait longer after I waited for two and a half hours, one of the doctors said to me, "it can take 1 - 4 hrs to be seen" , sounding like it was not such a big deal to wait for longer than 2 hrs. I asked one of the nurses if a doc can take a quick look, so I can leave. She said she would, but nobody showed up for another hour. After I waited for almost 4 hrs, I decided to leave(I should have left before). When I was leaving, my impression from the staff was they didn't care at all. I will not go back to this clinic again.
It says they close at 10 PM and I get there at 9:45. It was closed and the lady said we close at 10. What’s wrong with this picture? don’t say you close at 10 if you were already closed 30 minutes before that.
I had an excellent experience! Physicians, MOAs, Nurses, and Technicians were friendly, efficient, and communicative. I couldn’t believe how quickly I was assessed (including having my vitals taken!), having an ultrasound, X-ray, and on site treatment. Madeleine and Dr. Gropper were very good about communicating process, findings/results and next steps while keeping me at ease. The other staff were full of smiles and very helpful. I was very impressed with the overall cleanliness, and the amount of physical space in rooms and open area space. I felt that I had room to breath and that I could be taken care while maintaining my confidentiality and comfort. I thought the physical layout for moving patients through the stages of testing/care were very well planned. My only recommendation would be improved wayfinding as I witnessed some patients trying to find their way out and there wasn’t much signage to support them. Thank you to everyone at the clinic. I am very appreciative!
Arrived at 10:45 and my ticket was number 81 while they were serving number 80. Took them a while to do the admission, but it wasn't that bad, but then they kept sending in others who came after me, I counted 4. Finally I was sent to one of the rooms around 11:45 (yes, one hour after my arrival when only one person was ahead of me), and I sat in the room for a full 45 minutes, listening to couple of the doctors talking about a birthday party they went to during the weekend. I was there for full hours, and ad to leave before the doctor even got to see me, because I had taken hourly leave at work and had to go back before I lose my job. Honestly, just walk 5 minutes in any direction and you'll find another walk-in clinic. Don't waist your time, the doctors are extremely unprofessional here.
Staff didn't follow covid protocols. As I left, staff were all gathered in a room together, at least 7+ (I'm erring on a lower side but I think it was more) celebrating a birthday. Masks were off at least 2 people, people sang, social distancing was not being followed. Unbelievable. When they saw me, they looked nervous and said, masks on. I won't be coming back. Too bad because otherwise, it was a positive experience.
The Clinic is very clean and the staff very nice and courteous! I just felt that the waiting room is quite small to the point that you have no more privacy. The receptionist asks for your info and you have to not only answer their questions but also describe your symptoms which should be a private matter. Doctors are amazing, anything but good comments in regards to that. Waiting time should be updated a bit more often so it actually reflects in real time! Location is perfect and there’s a pharmacy right by the clinic. 3/5 stars, very close to 4/5 Keep up the good work
They say it work until 10pm but this is not true: they are full of capacity at 7pm so if you think about to go after this period, forget about it. If you don't accept more patients after this time, then just say it closes on 7pm and just receive everybody that went until that time. Make it a real scenario, don't give hope to ppl that need or want to go after 6-7pm.
I'm going here instead of the hospital because I don't get the helllo-good-bye treatment that you get from hospitals. I looked at their photos because it saved me the true of calling to ask about ex rays. Now I won't say anything bad about the staff because ever bodies experience is their own. I will say that they must have to handle some pretty interesting patient. With that thought I'm very pleased to see that they still try to keep everyone smiling even when they hurt. That's why I'll go here for basic treatment. Like my foot which I kicked my buildings front door a little too hard. And now I can't even stand on it.
I went for a COVID test and physical assessment, and doctor was very good. But the problem was the front-desk staff. Due to the pandemic situation there is a lot of patients, as expected. I asked if I could wait outside (in front of the door, but in open air, not inside a room with sick people), and the lady told me to do it because they will call me there: that never happened. They called me from inside, I was not in the waiting area, so they though I was gone and they passed to the next patient. I was delayed and had to wait a total of 4 HOURS to get assessed. So, the place is good for COVID testing, but if you gotta see a doctor you better prepare to wait. And NEVER leave the waiting area inside the building.
Walked in to get my PCR travel test and was instantly appalled at the prices: 72 hours - $150 48 hours - $199 12 hours - $699 Luckily, I had time so I requested the 48 hr option. They asked if I had an appointment and told them that nowhere online showed where I could make an appointment and was told that there was a place. *shrug* After filling out some forms and correcting their spelling of my name on a second set of forms that they typed up, I was taken to a room for the test to be done. I asked if I could do it myself as I've done on the past and she said no. The lady explained that it would feel like a bit uncomfortable, like I inhaled something..... OKAY. Anxiously, I tried to gather my nerves for this test. She stuck the swab up my nose and I felt like she was jabbing my eye and touching my brain. She kept it there for what felt like forever (maybe 20-30 secs?) and all the while my eyes started tearing up. Once she was done, I had to take a few minutes to gather myself. I now had an eye that felt severely irritated and my nose was watering profusely. An hour in, my sinuses were totally inflamed and I had a sinus headache. I felt miserable for another 4 hours. Just after the 48 hr mark, I got my results back and a travel certificate - I checked my name, passport number, and date and all seemed okay until I get to the check in line, show my travel certificate, and the agent tells me that my results have expired? Huh? Well apparently, on the travel certificate, they did not change the date in a paragraph and it said Oct 20 instead of Oct 25 (which is when I took the test). I quickly brought up the test results which showed the correct date and was allowed to board. I called the clinic and, because it is early, was sent to voicemail but their voicemail is too full to accept messages. I'm going to ask them to reissue the travel certificate with the correct date. My rating is bc their attention to detail needs to be better, especially for something as important as dates for PCR testing on a travel certificate. If I had another agent, they might have turned me away.
The staff are very friendly and respectful. I was seen initially by doctor Simon Moore who was respectful, helpful, thorough and kind. He gave me next steps in my care which I greatly appreciated. I had to take x-rays which didn't show the damage in my cartilage, but the (different) doctor I saw after hadn't done the physical and wouldn't refer me for next steps to look at the cartilage damage. I'm sad, discouraged and frustrated, and I know I'll have to be back again.
Absolutely disappointed. Checked the website which states you can “walk-in” to get a covid test and was turned away because they were not doing covid tests for travel that day? Leaving us scrambling to find a location that would accept us last min. Suggest they update the website as the information is incorrect and can really mess up your travel plans
After 3 hours of waiting with my smashed finger they told me its going to take another 2-3 hours to get in line so they will text message me 10 mins before i have to show up. Instead of that they texted me in 20 mins so couldn't get back in time and now im last person on wait list. Good job! Fun hanging out in closed room where people non-stop coming in for covid testing, many of them had close contact....
Had a COVID test done here. The whole process took less than 20 minutes. Including waiting time. The place is spotless and it has clear COVID guidelines in place. Everyone was super friendly.
I just want to say: thank you for taking care of me so fast ????
I took my travel test here, and gone through a very distressful experience getting a certified test result from this clinic. I was required to show a negative certified PCR test in the destination airport. Despite my COVID-19 test result being as negative in the lab report, this clinic refused to give me a certificate stating that my test result is negative. The certificate that they provided only stated that I am asymptomatic. They seem to make complications for the travellers, despite being paid $200 for a test!
An intermediary between a walk-in clinic and emergency - the concept is fantastic! I had a broken hand and was treated so well by the staff, radiologists, and physicians who were all very courteous and professional. Many thanks to the hardworking team at the primary care centre!
I have been to this facility a number of times pre COVID and service was always decent. The wait times are long but the care had always been good up until today. I waited patiently despite the long lines and was treated well by the nurses and receptionists. The Doctor on the other hand was very condescending and dismissive. I felt as though I was begging to be taken seriously and at one point he even insinuated I was faking my symptoms. Eventually he did treat me but after I had a massive breakdown and he confirmed exactly what I had been saying all along. It was the most humiliating experience of my life and I would never wish that on anyone else.
I had stubbed my toe so bad on the street that my toe split open and was gushing blood everywhere. I came to the centre and a really kind worker brought me in right away for treatment. I registered and then got brought in. The doctors used surgical glue to repair the gash, bandaged me up and then I was on my way home. I'm extremely happy that I didn't have to go to St. Paul's.
Absolutely unprofessional service. The nurse catered to a person who was standing behind me in a que for covid tests. Also i felt that the way the test was taken was highly un-professional.
Best medical clinic. Very friendly personnel. The doctor and nurses took the time to listen to my issues. I wish I knew about this clinic before. Thank you so much for all your efforts.
I am a United States citizen and I visited my son in Vancouver over the holidays. I am an Oncology Nurse. I needed to test for COVID before flying home, and I called the Seymour Health Travel Clinic on Hornsby to make an appt. I was scheduled by a cheerful medical assistant, Denise who was delightful and most helpful. I came in for my appt and was tested without delay. Denise recognized my name and sufficiently took care of my needs. I received a positive result a few hours later via email and was overwhelmed with canceling my plans home to California. I spent most of the next day on the phone, on hold with multiple people trying to figure out a new plan to get home. Denise called me, on her day off to help and suggested I see one of the MD’s to complete a “Recovery from COVID” letter after my 5 day quarantine time. I agreed and she then scheduled me with another appointment. When I came back to the clinic, I was greeted by a lovely nurse, Corrina. Her assessment was thorough and complete. I then saw an MD, Vera who was most sincere and caring. Seymour Health Clinic is a very busy clinic and everyone I came in contact with was very profession, courteous, caring and kind. So many times people are the first one to complain and write terrible yelps. I wanted to acknowledge this clinic as they deserves a service of excellence award. Great job, well done! Thank you
If you cant see your usual doctor/nurse practitioner in time for a medical issue like a bad cough (not life threaten) this is the place to go. They were understanding & caring for my wishes to see a female doctor unfortunately she left already but a female nurse was able to be present in the room with doctor also a friend. Always make sure to bring your physical/hard copy Care card-ID w/PHN number to make simple & no need to fill out paper work. The wait time was about 30 minutes. The only thing that i found a little strange was when doctor suggested vaping to help quit smoking ahaha
I strongly advise not to go here if you want an X-ray or be treated fairly as a patient. I injured my foot badly and could barely walk. I went to see a Physiotherapist on a Friday afternoon and he told me to go here to get an X-Ray because it likely was a bone fracture. I waited for 2 hours Friday night and then when I got to see the doctor he refused to give me an X-ray. He said it was unnecessary because it would be a rest/ice/elevate treatment. He wanted to make himself sound like a hero and said radiology would increase my chances of Cancer so this was a smart decision on his behalf. No X-ray and then he left. I've seen 2 different physiotherapist, a foot doctor and had x-rays done elsewhere since then and they all thought his decision was obscured, made no sense and was frustrating.
Had the most painfree, didn't-feel-a-thing, flu shot from the Pharmacist Aaron today. This Pro teaches other Pros, yes, he's that good. Just felt my skin stretch a touch...needle was in, shot administered, bandaid was on. Now that's how it's DONE! Outshined my ER nurse best friend's skill.
My visit to the City Centre Urgent Primary Care Centre was very positive! Everyone there was friendly, helpful, competent, and willing to listen to my concerns.
The staff and physician (Dr. Joel Bluman) were excellent - knowledgeable, helpful and very patient with my elderly step-father. It was late at night and we were the last patients before closing but they did not try to rush us even though my step-father has word-finding difficulties.
This is an amazingly efficient and high quality medical service clinic. The staff are very friendly and courteous and make every effort to help you feel better. They did a series of blood, imaging and cardiac tests on one of my family members right there onsite with minimal wait time. The doctor was even so kind to call the patient a few hours later on the same day and inform that the test results were okay and no need to worry. This is what every clinic should be like. Much appreciated.
As long as your issues are not life threatening in nature this is an excellent alternative to visiting the ER. Wait time is significantly shorter, the staff were very pleasant (especially Maricel in admission). The doctor listened to my issues and gave direct answers to my questions. They have on site x-ray and medical lab, the only wait time was to get the blood work result but that was after i have been already diagnosed by the doctor. Highly recommend this place!
Received excellent assistance when visiting this facility for a cut on my arm.
The nurse who helped me was so lovely. Surprised that several staff members entered the clinic unmasked. I was watching one staff member in the staff area chat with her colleagues without a mask for probably 30 minutes. By the time I had left she still wasn't wearing one. Looks very bad for a clinic that does walk-in covid testing. My parents both work in a hospital and masks are definitely still mandatory there...
I was taken in fairly quickly, perhaps because The wound on my leg was oozing. In any event, both of the triage and intake nurses were great, sympathetic, and friendly. I was taken back to a treatment room, where a nurse came in and cleaned my wound. I was then visited by a Doctor who examined it and decided that it wasn’t infected. Then, another nurse came in, she was very sweet, and dressed the wound for me and gave me a tetanus shot. All in all, a very easy and comfortable experience. I know other people have had long waits, I guess it’s just when you come in and how many people are being triaged ahead of you. I certainly recommend it.
Dr Harry really helped me. He listened and he treated me with respect and really helped me. The nursing staff was kind and caring and empathetic and made me feel so much better when I had an anxiety attack while waiting for the doctor. It’s a really good place with good people.
My hand suddenly swelled and was painful on the weekend but I didn't think it was an emergency. It turned out it could have been serious, had I let it go. The staff was so respectful to all of us waiting. My doctor was incredibly thorough. I was so thankful for our medical system and in particular VCH's new service.
I had really bad headaches for 6 days and that's when I decided to visit the urgent care center. I have a history of migraine headaches so at first I and the doctor thought it's the long episode of migraine. Still Dr. John recommended to get the head CT scan done to see if I can be put under some medication. Thanks to that decision which told us that the headaches were indeed because of sinus infections. The doctor and the nurses are very polite. They gave me all the preliminary care that I needed without giving any unnecessary medication.
Pretty clean and efficient for a walk in clinic. Felt like a little hospital. Seems like they had all the equipment. Waited for about an hour. Not too bad for 7pm on a Friday night in a busy clinic. I thought I was going to wait for at least 2 hours. So, an hour wasn't too bad. That's how long I have to wait for my family doctor with an appointment. I was examined by a nurse first. Then examined by Dr. Bloom. The check in was smooth and check out was pleasant as well. I don't remember all the nurses names but they were all very helpful, even the security was friendly. It must be tough taking care of sick and grumpy people all day. I was rear ended during work and didn't feel so great after but still had to get checked out. I'm glad I went to this clinic. Great team work!
I don’t like writing negative reviews and I very much care for service workers during this trying time. Still, I think that policies and procedures could be better here. Managing expectations is at the foundation of anything. When I looked online it said a wait of 1.5 hours, and when I arrived they said even less. In the end, it has been four hours and I’m still not treated. Nurses have been dodgy when I ask them a rough estimate as politely as I can. The system of bumping people up and down based on need seems to be a flawed system based on subjective judgements made by the workers. It also makes little sense when there is a major hospital two blocks away, where if people really are in dire need, they should most definitely go. I am so grateful for general health care, but let’s be honest about what you’re getting into, and maybe give people a heads up when they are being pushed down in the queue. If we follow this system, there is nothing stopping them from potentially keeping someone here all day if consistently someone is being placed ahead. Hopefully they reevaluate their procedures.
This urgent care is a joke. I waited a good 7 hours from 3pm to 10pm to see a doctor. “Generally speaking”, they see patients on a first come first serve basis. At around 9pm, I was told I will be the next one in line to see a doctor. However, they chose ppl to jump the line even if they are not severe at all. It all happened in front of me and I was in shock. Question here: How do you decide who gets to see the doctor first if not based on the order or the severity of the case? Is there any special reason? I’d really question that. Also doctor was inexperienced too. I’d be okay with that knowing this an emergency room doctor if I didn’t have to wait 7 hours to be told “I don’t know, what does it say online?” This experience is such a joke. I’d treat myself at home on google than coming here again. I give it 2 star for “you won’t get kicked out before it closes”. Quote front desk staff.
Dr. Feeney was one of the best doctors I've had. He's friendly, respectful, and seems to genuinely care. He also explained his thought process with me which felt empowering as a patient. Thanks Dr. Feeney!
Staff were all really friendly and the doctor was kind and attentive.
Turned me away at 9:20 pm. They were open for 40 more minutes and there were no patients in the waiting room. I explained that I just wanted a doctors opinion (visual) and potentially a prescription for antibiotics for an infection.
Best experience at a medical facility ever. Hidden gem downtown but not for long. Everyone from reception to nursing to the doctors were friendly, informative and helpful and laid back (but in a good way, put my mind at ease). Special shout out to Nurse Madeline-very professional and efficient. 10/10 would go back but hopefully not anytime soon.
I chose this centre because I did not want to go to the emergency room due to their usual long wait times. Since my issue was more serious than just going to a walk-in clinic, I thought this centre would be a good choice. However, I was there for almost 4 hours (from the time I took a number and sat down until I left). This was totally unreasonable for the condition I was in. Especially since they were not that many people ahead of me (There we just 8 people ahead of me). When I just took a number, I checked the wait time online and the approximate total time was estimated to be 2 hours (from when you sign in to when you leave). I understand that this is an approximation, but it should mean 1.5 hours to a max of 2.5 hours when they put 2 hours, it should not be 4 hours which was double that time. The other issue was the staff’s (especially the nurses’) display of not caring about your time or condition. These are why I would not recommend this centre to anyone.
I have never been one to write a review, but the behavior I witnessed today was appalling. I did not think those who work at health care centres could treat those of a vulnerable populations so horrifically. The aggressively loud young man at the door not only yelled at a homeless gentleman he seemed to have verbally threatened him. This is truly disgusting behavior. Not only will I no longer come into this centre again I will not recommend it.
I was certainly impressed by my entire experience at the City Centre Urgent Primary Care Centre. This includes right from my arrival in the lobby of the building where a staff member personally escorted me via elevator to the second floor. I was then ushered into the registration and initial waiting area by another staff member. I then waited and was next seen by a nurse who took my "vitals" while she listened attentively to me describing my "issues". I then waited until another nurse ushered me into an examination room where I waited (almost one hour) until the doctor arrived to deal with me one on one. The doctor was wonderful and I was impressed with how professional and compassionate she was in dealing with me. She took time to explain the prescriptions she had written for me and made sure I understood how she was approaching treatment for me. The whole experience lasted approximately 2 hours, 45 minutes from arrival until departure. I'm sure that the length of time I spent waiting was a reflection of the fact that the doctors were dealing with patients with more serious "issues" than mine and I totally understand that and respect them for it. All in all, in my opinion these folks are wonderful! They definitely are making a positive difference in this crazy world we live in!
Everyone was very kind and respectful, especially the doctor who saw me, Dr. Melanie Levesque.
The facility is clean and friendly but be prepared for long wait times. I had to wait 2+ hours, once you get to see a doctor nothing bad to say. All the staff were friendly, just those wait times tests anyone's patience.
I came to your Care Centre with a swollen right foot which over a 3 week period had spread to my right calf up to my knee. It was very painful and your MOA and Nurse at the front processed me expeditiously. I was then attended to by Dr John Barclay who concluded blood clots may be at the root of the problem and sent me to St Paul's ER for an Ultrasound along with detailed paperwork outlining my situation. In short, I was treated very well. both at your Centre and St Paul's, and I am happy to report there are no clots. I personally am very grateful that an operation such as your Care Centre has been established in my neighborhood particularly as there are so many senior Residents. Your Operation is well set up, clean and professional. My only hope is that monies will become available in the future to provide the equipment and technical staff to make your Centre a full service operation. Many thanks!
Impeccable service and care. I wish I could give more stars to this centre where they have the most empathetic staff and efficient service. The wait time is 3 hrs which is understandable during covid when most family dr are hardly available. The place is clean and tidy as well.
Incredibly slow and inefficient, waited three hours for a test even though there were only maybe 20 people ahead of me, and they almost skipped over me if I hadn't said anything. The test was unusually rough and uncomfortable, and I was unable to get my results with an OHIP card.
Good wait times and clean large clinic. Patients should be aware that this clinic can't/won't do certain things a normal walk-in clinic can. No referrals to specialists and no return-to-work forms for work injuries. I wish I'd known this before going in, because now I have to go to a different walk-in for the same injury to get a specialist referral and a form.
This place is so convenient and well organised. Staff are helpful and courteous. I would recommend this place for non-emergency medical issues.
Wonderfully, welcoming staff - clean and efficient system! I was in terrible pain and they worked quickly and attentively. Dr. Adhami was lovely. Thank you for all the care....I was worried about overwhelming them given the current health crisis, but they were so reassuring and calm.
I have been here in the past, the clinic is clean and staff are friendly. In November I had an appointment with a Doctor whose phone notifications were dinging loudly through the entire appointment. I didn't mind this much, though I did feel it was unprofessional. However, today I went in to ask for a referral for a specialist. I had a specific medical issue that I've had experience with for over 10 years. I saw a new Doctor who refused my request for a referral, and instead suggested I try over the counter medications. This suggestion came despite my stating that these medications have not worked for me in the past for this specific issue. Further, the doctor informed me that there is no prescription medication available for my issue. This is not true. I am left to assume that the Doctor did not believe me. Immediately after this appointment, I spoke to the specialist clinic I was trying to obtain a referral for. The receptionist I spoke with at the specialist clinic was equally as confused as I at the Doctor's behaviour. She suggested I try a different walk-in clinic to obtain the referral, which is what I will be doing next time.
The staff are fabulous and made me feel very welcome even during these Covid times. Fast, efficient, professional, clean and of course free. This style of clinic is needed in so many places I feel lucky to have one near me and to live in Canada.
The staff here was so friendly and welcoming. My daughter needed stiches and they made the experience very calm for her and she left with a smile!
I went in with severe pain and swollen hand after an injury to my hand to the clinic that advertises for onsite X-ray facility. I waited almost an hour before I was registered. Bryn Sharkey is an egotistical doctor that spend less than 2 minutes with me after waiting over 4 hours at his clinic without even having the report on the x-ray of my injured hand. When I expressed my concerns that it took way too long of a wait for not even a proper diagnoses he responded “ there is only one of me and a thousands of you” while I knew most patients were there for COVID test. Don’t open the clinic door if you don’t have enough doctors to see patients
Amazing staff and very considerate.. I was there when their capacity was full ...but heeding my injury and paid.. they did the x-ray and provided necessary care.. thanks again and your guys are awesome
I called City Centre and Kim answered the phone. She was amazing helping me registering for pre-travel COVID test over the phone and took a quality time to pre-register all 4 family members with all the info required. it was painless. Thanks Kim!
I had the best service and experience at City Centre UPCC. The receptionists, radiologist technician, doctor and Annette (nurse) took extra care of me. They have a x-ray department on site and gave my results with very little wait time. I highly recommend patients to go there. I definitely would go there again.
We got excellent & attentive care at this facility. We attended for two different issues, two different days & were dealt with quickly & efficiently. They do the same as hospital emergency department but less crazy. All our questions were answered and written prescription provided for both of us, which I'm sure we wouldn't have received at any other health facility and even though they were busy, people kept entering but nothing they couldn't handle efficiently. I'd rather come to Urgent Care than hospital emergency department.
I had a short wait time, the staff were very polite and friendly, and I was really surprised and impressed by all of the services that they have on-site (X-ray, lab, ultrasound, etc.). The space was clean, modern, and inviting. I will definitely be coming back in the future to avoid overcrowding the ER at St. Paul's!
Waiting 2 hrs is worth it in the end. All drs. Were very thorough, taking care of me much Betty than family dr. UPCC office Dr. Informed me this has to be attended to asap. The first few steps of care were done quickly. My Dr. Phones informing me Ive been referred to an ENT Specialist. It's been over a week & no call. I phoned my drs office, I was given Specialist name & phone No. I phoned , learning their office hadn't received info re my condition. I phoned my Dr back, receptionist tells me she LL send fax again. I feel I'm being lost in the shuffle. This isn't urgent care as suppose to be, I'm most disappointed. Thank goodness my career was nursing, knew enough to get on the horn. TBCont'd
DO NOT GO HERE - AVOID Myself and partner had to go here after 2 of our friends got tested for COVID and both of our symptoms had gotten worse. One of the nurses verbally assaulted my partner in a room and would not stop shouting at him. My partner and I have been socially distancing since our test results and even when they came back negative. Do not go here as this nurse in particular will make your already not pleasant experience even worse
Staff are brilliant but honestly, mixing symptomatic people who are there for COVID testing with people in general non-emergency intake is absolutely wild. There is no real space for you to be seperated despite the fact hospital wards categorically do this to reduce transmission and infection
Excellent help provided this time by both the doctor and the nurse that took care of my problem. Congrats.
Honestly can’t say enough good things about my experience there last night. Came in alone with a debilitating migraine and was very out of it and scared, and the staff were all so helpful, understanding, and kind. I was treated basically immediately with a host of IV medications and the doctor was extremely knowledgeable and gave me lots of information and pamphlets etc to take home with me. Even though they were obviously overworked and busy with Covid stuff, multiple nurses/staff kept checking up on me during my 2 hour stay. Genuinely best experience I have had with a walk-in urgent care centre by far.
Really not what I expected. They don't give you an approximate wait time. This is ridiculous as people have lives. The actual doctors seem to be very inexperienced and the technician who I saw had a lot of attitude.
Best treatment I've ever received at a clinic. The doctor & nurses were empathetic & compassionate in regards to my level of pain, and really made the situation more bearable. Highly recommended.
Dr.Lucky and her colleagues looked after my husband with exceptional care and manner. Their actions were friendly, swift, and knowledgeable.
Organized, kind, and efficient. For being somewhere I didn't really want to go (get a COVID test), I was impressed with the level of service.
Excellent experience, good and friendly staff and doctors there.
They ask you personal questions in front of a whole waiting room. Then they take yr blood pressure through the glass! The staff upfront had no idea what was going on. It looked like chaos. Go to a walk in before coming here. I’ve had better experience at the hospital even.
AWFUL EXPERIENCE! When I entered the clinic, the sign near reception said that the waiting time would be 1h00min. I ended up waiting for 3(!) hours to no avail and had to leave not getting any care. Reception staff is obnoxious and indifferent, treating clients like beggars. AVOID THIS PLACE, IT'S A TOTAL MESS!
I am so thankful for Each and Everyone who works in the Clinic they were so kind, respectful, helpful and working through this unprecedented times is so hard but in spite of the situation, they Exceed in their Commitment and Service to people like me. My Heartfelt Thanks to Everyone! God Bless Everyone!
Unnecessarily rude reception staff. I called on Sunday morning as there aren't very many walk-in's open on Sundays, and even at 10:00 AM, most places I called said they were full or weren't taking more patients. I called to ask some information about coming in for the appointment, and the person on the phone kept cutting me off, and then got frustrated when I asked a question. Maybe if she was using her listening ears in the first place, she would have been able to answer my very simple question the first time. I'm an MOA myself, and have worked in very busy walk in clinics, but cutting people off and not allowing them to ask questions makes no sense. If your MOA doesn't want to explain your clinic policies, maybe you could put it on a recording so I can hear that info while on hold. I thankfully found a different walk in to go to.
At the North Vancouver facility Fantastic service. When I phoned, it was answered within a few rings and got a real person on the line. It was Penny and she was very helpful, friendly and engaged. For the treatment, the doctor was very helpful and fixed my problem. Al thumbs up.
The place should be a 5 the staff are attentive, friendly and professional but.... 1. I saw 11 staff, 1 doctor and lots of milling around. 2. Why can't nurses do more not wait for the 1 then 3 then 1 (well they need their break) doctor. 3. I went to have a cist looked at. Almost 4 hours and a chaotic system of entry, registration and then sit and wait while others come and go after you. 4. So online 39 minutes but it becomes 4 hours cuz their system stinks while the emergency department 2 blocks away is empty. Move the covid testing elsewhere and let us be able to see medical help. Clean friendly but let nurses do their jobs they are as qualified as doctors and if you really need an emergency department go to the hospital
The staff today were all helpful and professional. From the people checking up on the line outside, people cleaning the floor every couple of minutes, reception, and the nurses. There was a waiting time of 1.5 hours but that's fine when everyone you deal with is pleasant and the place is kept clean.
Friendly and efficient staff at front. Waited so long only to have the doctor confirm my concussion by describing symptoms. No physical exam of any kind. Seemed more concerned with covid. Told me to go to ER if not better in 3 days. Said to mix tylenol and Advil since they weren't working on their own. Waste of time.
the urgent care centres are very professional and the staff I interested with were all very professional, knowledgeable, and understanding. The whole team is as quick and efficient as possible, I will go there again if needed.
Awesome! is the best way to describe this new service meant to ease the Emergency Room wait times. My doctor told me I had to go to emergency for a very simple procedure. I avoided going for 6 months because of wait times and the terrible conditions at St. Pauls. Today when I was looking up wait times, I saw this new (relatively new) care centre. I was admitted in less than 10 minutes had a couple scans and was given a prescription and follow-up care instructions in less than 45 minutes. EVERYONE was very friendly and professional.
Do not go during the pandemic! This clinic is seating people with Covid symptoms in the same room next to everyone else who is there for other reasons. Plus the long wait times in the same room.
Helpful and efficient. Went in the morning on a weekday. Was seen by the triage nurse within 15 minutes of arrival. Had x-rays done in the next 30 minutes. Saw a doctor 30 minutes after that. This facility is a great addition to the healthcare service options on the North Shore!
Been here twice and both times super impressed by how kind and professional every staff and doctors are to every patient. This clinic changed my impression of how horrible BC’s health care system is. Feels completely safe and comfortable in this clinic. And their staff and doctors are truly exceptional ????????????????????????????????????????
Honestly, one of my best experiences at a walk in clinic. All the way from the reception to the nurse who pre-screened me, to the doctor. All the staff was so curteous and caring. Also, so clean. I think the cleanest clinic I can remember.
The nurses and doctor's service was absolutely awful. No respect from care staff. They were condescending, dismissive, rude, and unprofessional. It seemed as though my concerns were not important and that I was a nuisance to them. Overall, very bad experience. I feel very upset about my time here.
I visited the centre to seek treatment after a cycling accident. I received excellent treatment from the resident doctor including stitching up a badly cut finger and removing damaged skin. The nurse then provided a very thorough cleaning , sanitizing and bandaging of several bleeding areas and suggested that I return after 48 hours to have the the dressings changed. I will very gratefully do that.
No ramp for drop off and pick up of patients in wheelchairs and with walkers! Safety concerns
Respiratory patients are separated from the rest the best they can. Staff is unbelievably attentive, serious, knowledgeable. The place is amazingly clean. I had to do some exams and left the place already medicated. Sure, there are waiting times, but I cannot imagine a better health service than from this clinic.
I was referred by my Dr to go to Urgent Care. Yesterday ,Wed, after taking a bad fall.and it was very busy.I did wait quite a few hours, but I understood, they were busy. The receptionist and nurses were great, and kept their spirits up, and kept smiling.I did see Dr Gropper, who I thought was wonderful, and took care of my problem. After I had my X-rays done. I have been social distancing and was a little worried with people being tested for COVID.But they were asked to stay outdoors.I did have a mask and sanitizer. So thank you for everything. And stay safe and healthy! Wendy
Dr Barclay and the team were Great, went in on the 21st for what I thought was a strain in my back, I was in so much pain I was in tears. (Turned out to be a 7MM kidney stone) From the moment I went in. Till the doctor gave me my paperwork. The nurses were nice and calm, even asked how I was as I was leaving ???? definitely better than VGH
Everyone at the UPCC was incredibly professional, respectful, and attentive; from the guardian of the gate downstairs at the entrance/lobby & the elevator escort up, right through to the triage nurse, admission clerk and doctor, as well as the x-ray technologist. My care was on point and did not feel rushed at all in any stage - yet was incredibly efficient and considerate. It dealt with my urgent need and ruled out any major concerns, so that I could then follow up appropriately with my doctor. Luckily I was there first thing, before the clinic opened, which probably helped too in terms of process. (There was already a queue.) By the time I was leaving, they had reached capacity and only people who already had a requisition for imaging were being permitted in/up. I'm not really sure how they manage overflow... All in all, a very positive experience under personally difficult/painful circumstances. I am very grateful that the clinic exists and believe it provides a much-needed point of care; they also did so, for me, quite impressively. Not only were the staff/people exceptional, the facility itself is clean and well-appointed. It was also very inclusive and non-judgemental.
We went here for our travel pcr tests, we got our results within the promised time frame and the staff were great. Especially Denise, she went above and beyond to help me! Thank you
I want to thank the staff at City Centre Urgent Primary Care Centre. From the gregarious fellow who greeted me at the door, to the triage nurse, the ultrasound and x-ray technicians, the nurse who took my blood, the ECT nurse and, most especially, Dr. Harry Chang, everyone I met was kind, thoughtful, patient and helpful. Thank you all so much!
I cannot think of a better health option for those who are just shy of emergency care. The staff do 10x what I expected from them. I felt like I was going to get a bill at the end of my care. Instead I walked out with staff members wishing me well right before walking into the pharmacy.
Arnie and Sonia were a delight and accommodated us with everything you can ask. I highly recommend coming to city urgent care for any of your medical needs. They make a sometimes uncomfortable doctors visit fun and quick. Thanks!
As someone who is no stranger to urgent care centres around the world I can safely say this one is the best. Great triaging, never a need to explain what is wrong again once you've been triaged. They also have a full diagnostic lab on site. I was in and out with a torn meniscus in 30 mins. 5 stars, hope I dont have to return but chances are I will.
Bad service.Receptionist was nice.when you're wait room .wait for Dr. I was wait too long ,don't believe wait line.also one write guy said you don't want to wait ,you can go home.if I was felling weel and stay home.I don't have to come to see Dr. I was understanding Dr.was very busy.a lots patient.please fix bad system.
My family got flu shots today from Aaron Sihota. One is afraid of needles. The shots were painless -- the fearful person didn't know it even happened! Most painless vaccinations ever. We'll want Aaron for all of our shots going forward. Thanks Aaron!
