Great place to work at! The staff is always so helpful and the hospital is super clean . No Covid here!

The sad thing about our medical system is that doctors take an hypocratic oath to serve, heal and protect their patients, and do what's in their patient's best interest. However, the loophole is; they do it at in whatever schedule suits them, and NONE of them end-up wanting to do that on the weekends. So good luck getting seen on a Friday night, Saturday or Sunday. Sickness and accidents don't pick and choose their schedules, but doctors do. The Lakeshore for most part pretty much have the runts of the litter of doctors and nurses it seems ( although there are rare exceptions ). The staff strikes me overall as privileged and condescending. Bitter even maybe?! But now I understand where our tax dollars go, when I got fed-up of waiting on the weekend, I went back during a week day and spent at least 45 minutes of my total 7 hour wait listening to 4 staff nurses and a doctor talking about their weekends, instead of actually helping patients. Ironic. They complain about being overworked and under-paid, but the work isn't being done because they waste time. Our hospitals should be privatized perhaps, they might be run efficiently and the bad weeds would get fired. I would avoid this hospital and drive 45 minutes out off my way to go somewhere downtown or even Hakesbury ON before I go here again. Too many bad experience and witnessed incompetence here over the years.

Recently spent forty-two days at LGH, 30 of those spent in the Intensive Care Unit. Have nothing but high praise and admiration for everyone from the doctors to the nurses, the maintenance staff (especially important in this Covid19 era)...everyone who I was treated by and given great care from. If I could mention just a few whose (sometimes:) minor deeds and help would literally "make my day". I can't begin to explain how these extremely dedicated, caring and loving health-care workers and their always-positive and optimistic outlook on everything made me feel, and how I'm positive the passion and loving attitude they would bring to work every day/night (often both) would make the release of any patient possible much more quickly than if the patient would not have received this excellent level of care! A few names comes to mind, although I'm sad not all of them do, due to spending so many days in the ICU and having to be intubated. Short list - that should be much longer - of very special encountered during this long hospital stay to follow, made sure to note those names shortly before being released. Thank you LGH, for everything. Your staff - everyone from the Emergency room staff I was ambulanced to very quickly to the many specialist doctors who could see me, the excellent and very positive nursing and other support staff - Thank You very, very much! More to follow, as I would be remiss to not mention some very special healthcare workers who really stood out as being true examples of what healthcare workers (despite, especially in this age, obviously worried about health issues working so closely with Covid19 patients) should all be. Thank you very much, one and all, again ???????? Peter Devries

For your own sanity do NOT go to this barbaric hospital. Every single time I or a family member had an emergency we went here and each time it was a disaster. Waiting periods are absolutely ridiculous. I understand there are priorities but come on people! And their excuse is always that there is only one doctor working in the ER. My elderly father who was having excruciating stomach pains from appendicitis had to sit in a filthy waiting room on an uncomfortable chair for 24 HOURS before finally getting to be seen by a doctor. Not to mention the extremely rude and unprofessional staff members there. If you are looking to lose your faith in humanity then the lakeshore hospital is the way to go, otherwise I highly suggest you keep away from this place. My family and I are never going to make the mistake of going back here ever again.

Been here for over 13 hours now and only a few are called . Unless your dying avoid this hospital at all cost . The nurse told me it should not be long lol what a joke this is . There’s barely anyone waiting .

Kseniya Baluk

Avoid if you can. Terrible ER wait times and awful ER nurses lacking even hint of compassion. I was brought by ambulance with a bad bleeding and waited 3 hours before been seen by a doctor. Seriously, I thought I gonna die in the ER. The nurse refused to bring me wheelchair and told me to walk despite me being pale as a sheet and having shaking legs. Ended up with multiple iron infusions.

Mother of Cat and Dog

I dislocated my shoulder for the third time last Saturday playing tennis and I was in the ER, I had to wait 30 minutes and it was one of the most excruciating seconds of my life, but after being seen at the triage, I was seen immediately, all nurses, staff and doctors were so kind and I dearly appreciate all of them. They took great care of me and are fantastic at their job. Thank you so much!

Over the last month I have been in and out of the Lakeshore for tests and an operation. It has been an amazing experience, the staff where friendly, helpful and attentive. The surgeon amazing. The nurses caring. The cleanliness good. Free parking too. Appointment times kept. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Very unprofessional, called the number below and not only did they let it ring for an extremely unreasonable amount of time but the woman picks up the phone laughing and giggling. When I say what I want she barely listens to me then proceeds to transfer me to someone who also doesn't answer. At this point trying to get help for my mental illness has been such a battle and I'm tired of it

Jesse “James” Ettebe

Spent 13+ hours in the ER to see a doctor. The vending machines don't work, so spent a good time starving. At least they do x-rays are 3am.

Disgusting bathrooms. The place is FILTHY! The nurses are unprofessional on the third floor. Laughing and being loud and extremely unprofessional when the patients are obviously terrified because they are about to do minor surgery! Yet the …

Gave birth there early december. My husband and I were really pleased with the staff. Everyone was welcoming and attentive to our needs.

Dismissive! Refuse to update or include any worsening symptoms in triage after several hours of waiting. Shivering and asked for a blanket once an hour and was told a nurse will assess. At first, they said the shaking chills means my body is fighting a fever.. after 4 hours, no one cared. I fainted on an aircraft and was exhibiting a number of symptoms not permitting me to fly and was ordered to seek immediate medical attention. I refused the paramedics which was a mistake. If 0 stars was an option, I'd chose this. Clearly based on the other reviews, others feel the same. I hope this hospital staff restores it's sense of humanity and dignity towards it's patients.

Belinda Aquilino

Went to ER Thursday morning, waited no time for triage, but then fainted minutes after.... They're all there for me trying to keep me awake, every hands moves so fast enough to save my life. Thank you all

This is not the hospital you want to use when giving birth. My wife was essentially forced into surgery by Dr Kawerk and his staff here, despite not having any real indicators that it was necessary. He was verbally abusive and seemed to care more about being out of the hospital by dinnertime than making sure that my wife delivered our child and recovered. She has still not recovered emotionally from this, 9 months later. The hospital also ignored the complaint filed shortly after the incident. In short, do not trust your care - for anything - to this hospital, as you will almost certainly be disappointed.

Salwa Hafeez

Still in ER since like 16 hours and no Dr to follow up or call from one.. bleeding from hand but for them it's not serious I guess until u die..

Marc Breau

This is one of the worst hospital in Montreal. We went there for a pregnancy complications and by the time my wife was seen by a doctor my son was 19 months old.

Stevie

Go to this hospital if you want to die. They waited so long my appendix burst and had to be rushed into surgery which resulted in a 2 week post op ICU fighting for my life.

I had to take my 90-year-old mother to LGH emergency to have some blood tests re-done based on some scary results. The staff were fantastic but the facility desperately needs updating. The waiting room is tiny and with social distancing it's even worse. Once inside there aren't enough beds. Staff kindly let her stay in the chair where the blood was taken while we waited for the results. Also it would be nice if there were signs indicating where to enter the parking if you're going to emergency. Nice to have 2 hours free parking though.

Giselle Celio-Bédard

We arrived at the ER department on Sunday at 2pm and the staff were very efficient, kind and prompt. We had all our scans that were required and the whole experience took 5 hours, much shorter than we expected. We would like to thank the nurses and doctors, everyone who assisted us. We appreciate it very much, keep up the great work!

It would be really nice if ANYONE working here had any idea what anyone else was doing. I spent no less than 18 hours in the emergency there with my 95 year old grandmother. From Sunday night til Monday evening. I had to keep the staff apprised of what procedures had been done and when my grandma needed anything. They very seldom even checked in on her. And no one seemed to know what anyone else had done with her already. They left a full bedpan under her for an hour even with my persistently asking for someone to come remove it. I have too many complaints to list here. I will NEVER go back to this hospital. This would be a 1 star review if not for the amazing Dr. Bacon, and maybe 2 exceptionally compassionate nurses among the dozen or so who saw to her. ????

Dmitri Figura

Terrible place. Girlfriend was taken in by ambulance for fainting and not breathing. they did some test and made her wait outside with no jacket in the middle of winter. gave us no warning of letting her out. how could you possibly think that is okay as a hospital. Genuinely think they all need to go back to school. Scrap the entire hospital and try again. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS.

Michel Plante

Visited a patient twice, came out unharmed. Free visitor parking up to 2 hours.

Mo Studios

Came to emergency a few months go had all tests done from blood test to X rays to CT scans. Having all kinds of symptoms over last 6 months. But finally I got an appointment for an ultrasound but I still had to wait in ER for 4 hours maximum (or that's what they say) it's absurd that I had an appointment for ultrasound and I still have to wait all this time!!!!

Stayed in emergency for 12 hours and counting, and I would say 75 percent of the staff were terrible. They were so loud the entire night , patients cant sleep or rest or anything. They come in to the room at 3 4 5 6 7 in the morning loudly without any regard for the fact that it's the middle if the night. The supporting staff and nurses etc are not helpful, nobody comes to update you on anything. We had no idea what was happening. Nobody helped us with anything. Random people showed up and started to do interventions but nothing was really explained. Patients are just a number, no compassion whatsoever. I met like maybe 2 nurses out of the 10 people in 12 hours who were decent. No standard of care.its very disappointing. The wait was extremely long, they had 1 doctor the whole night. We were left with difficulty breathing and wheezing for about 9 hours before getting any medications for comfort. It was very disappointing. I'm not sure if it's just this hospital or if it's actually the healthcare system is failing. I hope they improve their standard of care.

I have always been met with very curtious and caring staff. Being as we are in the emergency ward it is somewhat difficult to sleep, but not that bad that a person can't close their eyes for 40 winks or so. The staff has always been very caring to me, to my sister when she was in and to my son who has been in also. Beautiful people.

I used to find the hospital was awful....but lately, since moving to Pincourt and having NO CHOICE but the ambulance to bring me to Valleyfield , I thought twice. Nit only that, i had to go furca Holter monitor and lost my house keys. The staff was so polite and looked all over after I called, and the time before, I hsd the nurses joking with me because I was scared, despite they're overworked. I had some bad experiences, but honestly, the past few times i was there, i was impressed !! They turned around 360 degrees...as for Valleyfield.....i never felt so bad, afraid, scared...they left me 6 hours without even letting me go to the bathroom, i a hall with and a small sheet next to the open door, then turned lights off and was left in the dark. Triage couldn't speak a word of English and the paramedic was getting everything wrong and I was trying to explain to them and she didn't understand anything I was saying. I was very scared very far from home and very unfamiliar place and I was crying and it just kept walking by me like I was nothing don't ever go to Valleyfield. I begged them to take me to Lakeshore as Lakeshore has completely turned around and they become an extremely great hospital with amazing staff.

3 hours waiting in emergency in this hospital, I am still losing blod because a teeth extraction, since 3pm I am losing en o much b’od and looks like in this hospital there is just one doctor for urgence!!! Terrible!! , the healthcare system in Montreal is a mess

Wow! My mother was in room 3560 in 3 West from Thursday the 12th of March 2020 to Wednesday the next week and I can only say that the nurses and the entire staff that were taking care of her and the entire floor were amazing. I have not met a group of angels as nice as them, their job must be so hard but they did their best to care for the needs of every single patient! WOW! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Pete Kennedy

Sat for 8 hours in the joke of a waiting room waiting for a blood sample. Ended up having to leave out of hunger and thirst. The security at the door ridicules everyone that comes through the door in front of everyone. It is also very dirty in all the public areas!

Jonathan Dean

Like Lakeshore General but was rudely spoken to but person at front entrance dealing with people coming in for appointments. I know I have to sanitize my hands and change my mask. I am not happy with being treated like I am stupid.

Iman bavand savadkohi

I'm really sorry for myself to have go to this hospital. Nobody cares about my feelings. I was waiting for 7 hours but nothing show up. Finally I had to leave there with my bad condition.

Two hour’s free parking it was very clean inside staff were very helpful The nurses were excellent

HORRIBLE HOSPITAL!!! The staff there are really "snappy". This is my second visit here in 2 weeks and it's HORRIBLE. I had ALOT of stomach intestinal pain and my own surgeon told me to go into the emergency room. I arrived here at 11h00pm and have STILL not talked to NOBODY. I asked one of the staff if I can try and eat something like crackers from the vending machine and they said no. I literally have not eaten in like 24hrs+ and NO nurse has giving me ANY pain meds NOR fluids. Super disappointed.????????????????????????

The technicienne we delt with was a rare pearl. The MRI department is in great hands. Thank you.

Rachelle Snow

I cannot stress how horrible this place is. I have been mistreated on multiple occasions for NO REASON. If you want actual Healthcare please take the time & go anywhere else but here. I hope one day they shut this place down.

irene sukherman

I had a misfortunate of going to number of hospitals in Montreal, but this one by far is the worst, my 83 years old mother has been send home, when her blood pressure was over 200, she leaves alone and they didn't even give reference to CLSC. a week after they called her, and said they prescribed her wrong antibiotic. now I am not even able to get in touch with the doctor, they're just telling me she has to come back to emergency. Plus, they're very rude.

Anna Mariani

I was supposed to go today to get results from an endocrinologist today but got a call last week that it would be by phone, so I got the call it was fast and after waiting 4 months didn't learn anything new, asked questions I was very disappointed with the response. I'm not pleased and very disappointed in this matter.

Sh. Nor.

The worst service ever I received as a patient in my whole life!! Not just one time, every single time I had to go to emergency! Unfortunately we don’t have any other choice!!

N Gricks

Poor service. An 84 yo frail lady in Emergency and no info given over 'phone to a worried daughter - from a nurse or the doc - for 12+ hours. Numerous calls to the hospital, only to find out very little. Doc did not bother to call us back (in spite of being asked to, supposedly). The system is stretched past broken, third world is no worse!

Erica Kennedy

The service I had from the general staff (security guards, information posts, etc) was awful. They were extremely rude and unhelpful. I was very stressed as I was trying to find an injured loved one and no one seemed willing to help me navigate the halls. Every time I asked a question it seemed like I was bothering someone. That being said, the Drs I had were amazing, including the med student who was extremely reassuring and perfect at stitches. He will do great things.

Fred Schoelch

Had emergency surgery performed on me. Everything went well. I received excellent care. Thank you to Dr. Dalrymple and other doctors. Also to the team of nurses with big hearts and the cleaning staff. The hospital food was good too

Josie Battaglia

The worst hospital or may I say that doctors in general overlook the elderly. My dad was anemic rather then investigating further the results they send him home. Doctors overlook the elderly because they are getting old. They rather think about going to vacation. Well a year and half past and later was diagnosed by cancer by us insisting to do tests or else they would have not done it. After a year and a half we had to send him over 3 times before they would have done something. Well all this goes to say you became a doctor and took an oath- Please take care of the elderly responsibly. They are not to be ignored just because they are old. You will get old also not everyone gets away with it. How would you feel if you were ignored because you are getting old? What kind of a doctor is someone when they do not care? Doctors are negligent, incompetent and unprofessional when they let this happen. Now I have read articles that immuno-therapy can possibly treat the type of cancer he had. So much for the help of doctors. I cannot trust in them anymore.

Tejinder Sethi

Angels working day and night, right from the security guards, nurses to Doctors. The try there best.

Disgusting. The 2 people in line in front of me were able to go into the hospital accompanied by someone. For our turn we were refused and had to go to a prenatal appointment alone even though the confirmation email encourages your partner to come and provincial guidelines allow this type of visitor. We had vaccine passports as specified by the email and still refused entry. My first prenatal appointment i was refused entry to the hospital by security as well and had to go do my tests privately. Please clarify how covid is still an excuse for treating patients this way??

mohammad dargahi

Nobody cares here about you A big pice of my finger with nail gone by saw, and it’s bleeding really bad but I waited for 7hours and nobody cares. Even i told them i am bleeding really bad and it need to be stitch asap and they replied “doctor is busy and you are not gonna die so wait.” After 7 hours waiting, doctor call me to the room, i was waiting for another hour in the room until doctor comes. I mean if i am in the room shouldn’t be someone here to treat me?!! Does really doctors spend 2hours in each patient? I don’t think so because i was waiting for doctor for one hour and everyone outside thinking doctor is taking good care of me for two hour

ramin mirmouji

Over worked staff , not capable of finding a bed for a cardiac patient in their icu and not trying enough to transfer her to another centre which can take better care of her. Staff donot call doctors on call to ask about prescriptions during the night so they donot have to bother them. Rooms are filthy definatly not properly cleaned. Doctors who complain about being paged to get a doctor. They either need to close rhis centre or spend some money and bring up the standards.

Larry Koury

Amazing experience with the Gastroenterology team, the nurses, and Dr Ahmed. Very patient-centric, caring, compassionate, and super pro. Could not have had a better experience in any way. Thank you all so much.

The worse care I've ever experienced. I work in the nursing dept at a hospital in the US and was saddened at the state of care my parents are subjected to at the Lakeshore. Most recently my 80+ year old mother waited 12+ hours to be admitted. Blood taken, but still no results on Day 3! She hasn't been eating or drinking and has symptoms of disorientation and confusion. Yet no test for UTI done!!?? That's BASIC! So my mother is resting at what amounts to a glorified version of a bad motel.

renaud Bacquet

If you need a hospital to give birth there is no better place than the Lakeshore. The nurses were unbelievable, very caring and knowledgeable. What a great experience it was.

claude hamelin

FORGET THIS PLACE FOR EMERGENCY . WENT THERE TO GET A RENEWAL OF PRESCRIPTION ( A THING WHICH SHOULD HAVE TAKEN 2 MINUTES. AFTER A 10 MINUTES WAIT FOR TRIAGE , I WAITED ALL AFTERNOON , 5 HOURS TO SEE A DOCTOR . NEVER SAW HIM . I LEFT TOTALLY DISGUSTED . THEY DON T SEEM TO HAVE ANY DOCTORS THERE . ONLY 10 PEOPLE IN THE EMERGENCY ROOM AND HARDLY ANY MOVEMENT . PATHETIC

Jessica Shirley

Previously a one star review because no help for our two month old baby at emergency in 2019, but updated it to three stars because I would give five stars for the experience of the planned delivery of second baby there in the birthing ward on the second floor. The labour and delivery team on May 28th 2021 was amazing and they made the birth a lot easier than it could have been. Nurses and docs were so positive, thank you! So summary- emergency experience 2019 was terrible but birthing experience 2021 was amazing, thank you

This hospital has problems. The facilities are dated. The food is arguably edible. The parking is crowded and expensive. But I think that's just Canadian hosptials. It is the price we pay for accessibility, and that's worth paying for. Lakeshore nurses have stood up for, comforted and supported my family while smiling, even during COVID. Lakeshore doctors have gone above and beyond to help us when we've been at our most vulnerable. Lakeshore staff have talked to us with kindness and patience, even when overworked (and probably underpaid). This place is essential to our community.

Nadia Colova

I had a really good experience at the emergency room recently. It was my first time at the hospital. The doctor was very attentive, friendly, helpful, kind, caring and efficient. I was very impressed. I didn't feel rushed at all. He took the time to examine my case and provide a resolution to the issue. The administrative staff were equally good. Overall, the process, from start to finish, was much faster than it would have been in Ottawa. Thank you for taking care of me while I was in your establishment.

Josh Thibodeau

Absolutely disgusted by this hospital... The man with longer wavy black hair at the front desk in the emergency room was extremely rude and disrespectful to almost everyone I saw that walked in and spoke with him. Very dirty, I saw the cleaners doing they’re so called “cleaning” and the one that was in charge of disinfecting things was walking around with one single rag(no disinfectant) just effortlessly slapping his rag on a few things here and there(extremely unclean and unsanitized). No exaggeration... AND on top of all this I waited 6 hours to get an x-ray and didn’t even end up getting one...

Michele A

I went to the ER last week and I was really well taken care of. The whole staff was working hard and doing their best to help everyone. Dr.Bacon is extremely compassionate and all the nurses made me feel like I was in good hands. Thank you for everything!!!!

AJ Jun

It is too bad emergency They do not respect the patient who is really sick. I am very tired and sick I bleeding From my lower back I feel so bad I have According to the patient's condition, I saw has nothing they are patient’s a situation sitting playing on a cell phone and laughing, and before me, he went to a doctor on unbelievable that really unfair , ,,,where the manager of hospital!!!!!!!! responsible that hospital!!!!!!????????????????

Second time going to the lakeshore, 1st was a scheduled hernia surgery and now just yesterday to emergency for a sliced up finger. They were all excellent! Fast and efficient. Got a tetanus shot and 3 stitches. Triage nurses, Doctor and the nurse who dressed my wound after the stitches were friendly and careful. I never felt nervous or in any extra pain. It was as pleasant an experience as I could have Imagined! lol

Janet Perrault

Excellent! Such compassionate and professional Canadians. I was in awe of their careful and meticulous care of me in my pre-op 5 hr. Session today. From the moment I nervously entered to the final meeting with the brilliant let congenial Dr Ray Hasel, I felt confident in that they would take care of me. Thankyou for seeing me as a fellow human being. Bravo to the warriors at the Lakehore !

Dimitri Smolens

A terrible place to be. After a 7-hour wait at the Emergency Room we were called and put in a consulting room and closed the door. After a wait of 4 hours NOBODY came to see us. It became after midnight. We were told the change of guard will happen and we need to wait for the new doctors. At 2:00 am we asked if any doctor will come to see us. We were told there are only two (2) doctors and they are busy with more urgent cases and cannot say when we we’ll be seen.. totally unacceptable, cold-hearted responses and no compassion for the suffering in pain patient. If they cannot improve the Lakeshore Hospital they should close it down.

Sajida Ali

I had a very bad experience, i went to emergency by ambulance having civier pain in my right arm, low blood pressure and dizziness. they treated me very normal and gave me Tylenol and asked for wait. I waited 14 hours in order to see the Dr. b/c i wasn't dying. they never care of the patient, very slow and waisted patients time and life. Rude staff and on top of that the Dr. can't tell you why i am suffering, what is the cause. he also prescribed pain killer and drowsy tablets to sleep. Not really care.... I'm very disappointed ...

On Friday, February 25, I had to have a bladder sonogram for recurrent cystitis. I was lucky to meet a very good professional who, in addition to being attentive, patient, polite and kind, was able to go beyond her duties, with great professional and human quality. Mrs. Gloria, thank you very much!

Jonathan Wersley

LAKESHORE TAKE CARE OF UR GOOD EMPlOYEES!! The facility itself needs renovating and refurbishing, many of the negative reviews are for sure because of funding, improper use of the ER dept when you go in. but boy oh boy!! did the staff from start to finish impress me. I went in at 10 with my niece. My hat goes off to the RAVISHING Flora at the front desk who explained the process to me and took care of me, to miss sophie who was kind and patient, everyone at the radiology dept and lovely Dre Bertrand who was nothing butamazing. I know it has not been easy being understaffed but please dont let it change your kind souls!!!!

vicky Lace-lei

No words Emergency was empty with 2 people before me. It still took 3.5 hours to get into the waiting room to see a doctor. Which then also took 1 Extra hour of siting on a dirty bed waiting for the doctor which looked less than enthusiastic to help me, I could tell she didn’t care and that’s sad for such a young doctor…. I was in shock at how dated and old this hospital looks…

Bill Smith

I went to LGH today Saturday, August 7, 2021. Arrived at 1:08 pm, was triaged, checked in, seen, blood tests, swab culture and x-rays. Walked out the door at 4:21 pm. Everybody was polite and professional with no attitude. I don't know why the reviews are so bad for this hospital but, I can honestly say that it's my go-to from now on if I can't see my family doctor. Thank you LGH for the professional and courteous service!

Aldo Centomo

Covid protocols in place. Tight quarters with hustle and bustle. The personel work hard and care. Waiting is expected.

Jason

I don't know why this hospital has a bad reputation. It is completely the opposite. From the security guards to the orderlys, the nurses to the doctors, I can't say a single negative. Twice I find myself at the ER and they surpassed every expectation. But the nurses I have to say are phenomenal. Especially the ones in the ER anex!!! Specifically Tamara. They took amazing care of me. Dr. Z, you rock. You are calm and took all the time to listen and took time to explain everything. From what I saw, it's the whiney selfish patients that made the stay unpleasant yet the nurses keep resilient. In short they are all great. Thanks lakeshore team!!!

Nadine Choisil

I never have an issue here, they always treat the medical issues with care and respect. Awaiting my next surgery actually! Not to say I'm excited, but their staff always puts me at ease.

Brant

Had a rather long sinus procedure here just yesterday on the 2nd floor day surgery. Everything about my experience was awesome. Everyone was nice and pleasant. My doc was awesome, explained everything and even hung out with us and the nurses while waiting for the OR. Recovery was great to, only complaint was the dude texting with his sound on, so disrespectful. Unfortunately I have been in and out of this hospital since 2017 but not one experience has been bad. The low ratings are not deserved in my opinion. This is a busy place and it's a public system, treat these people like you want to be treated at your job. Be nice to them and you will get treated nice in return. They deal with people and compassion is sorta a must but it's also a job for them and they get tired and hungry and miss there families as well, respect is a test way street. You go there with a little bobo or a friggen cold expect to wait, some of us go there for heart attacks or hemorrhaging from your face. Oh and Dr Varshney in ENT is Awesome! I have seen plethora of ENT'S over the last 30 yrs, the others were good, but he really knows his stuff and loves his job.

They dont deserve a star. My sister came in to the ER and they told her she is on the top priority; she waited 9 hours (and still counting). She got stung by something unknown 2 days back and her ankle was swelling and getting painful as she was waiting. The lady who was running the admission counter (#3) was very rude to few of the patients waiting patiently for several hours. When they would approach her to ask about the time left, she dismissed anyone who asked without being understanding and companionate to how long they have been waiting or even the pain or condition they are in. Never in my life have I encountered a service like this in a hospital no less.

Maternity ward at Lakeshore Hospital My husband and I were new to Quebec and this was our first child (born January 2019). We were very pleased with our experience at the maternity ward at Lakeshore. The nurses were especially helpful, so kind and caring. The nurse that coached me through my delivery was very encouraging and cheered me on. They were very vigilant, always there to help at the same time giving us our space as a new family. The postnatal care unit was fantastic as well, right up to the time we left the hospital, they were very caring and supportive. So glad we picked this hospital! Great job you guys keep it up!

When I had an accident, I received excellent care in the ER from Dr. Bacon and later from the plastic surgeon Dr. Dmitriopolous. They were kind, competent and professional. Our healthcare system (and LGH) has major issues but there are many positives to highlight, namely the caring and hard-working staff.
