(Translated) Very cold. I went for a consultation for chronic pelvic pain related to my menstrual cycle. After waiting 1h30 for an appointment. And 6 months of waiting for an urgent referral without ANY reminder. The phone line is almost always closed and e-mail response is slow. In the guynecologist's office, I briefly recount my symptoms, including pain near the cervix. He immediately goes to "tests". He inserts the speculum to me. Without saying a word, he performs a pap test (cytology) that he does not guide at all and it causes me VERY SOME pain. I have tears and panic in my voice. I share my sharp pain with him. He answers me: "I did nothing" and continues his painful interventions. Even after telling him that this test causes me a LOT of pain. At the very end, when I get dressed, I feel dizzy and unwell. I share with him. He said to me: "Pain is cultural" It petrified me. I left feeling uneasy and I took refuge in the bathroom in pain and still with my dizziness. No one, not even the person at the secretary's desk or the staff in the hallway made sure I was okay before I left. I still have pain from this procedure, even after a few days. I strongly advise against Dr Sylvain Malenfant for anyone suspecting of having endometriosis. Especially for a person doing their first gynecological tests. This can be traumatic for someone who is already physically fragile or not very resilient to abuse. This doctor, gynecologist, does not take pelvic pain seriously. The words he uses: “Pain is cultural” goes against his professional commitment. (Original) Très froid. Je suis allée consultée pour des douleurs pelviennes chroniques liées à mon cycle menstruel. Après une attente de 1h30 pour un rendez-vous. Et 6 mois d'attente pour une référence urgente sans AUCUN rappel. La ligne téléphonique est presque toujours fermée et le retour de courriel est lent. Dans le bureau du guynécologue, je raconte mes symptômes brièvement, dont des douleurs près du col. Il passe de suite à des «tests». Il m'insère le spéculum. Sans dire un mot, il effectue un pap test (cytologie) qu'il ne guide pas du tout et cela m'engendre une douleur TRÈS VIVE. J'ai des larmes et une panique dans la voix. Je lui partage ma douleur aïgue. Il me répond: «Je n'ai rien fait» et continue ses interventions douloureuses. Même après lui avoir dit que ce test m'engendre BEAUCOUP de douleurs. À la toute fin, lorsque je me rhabille, je ressens des étourdissements et un malaise. Je lui partage. Il me dit: «La douleur c'est culturel» Cela m'a pétrifié. Je suis sortie malaisée et je me suis réfugiée dans la salle de bain en douleur et avec encore, mes étourdissements. Personne, ni même la personne au bureau de la secrétaire ou le personnel dans le corridor ne s'est assurée que j'allais bien avant que je reparte. J'ai encore des douleurs de cette intervention, même après quelques jours. Je déconseille fortement Dr Sylvain Malenfant pour toute personne soupçonnant d'avoir de l'endométriose. Surtout pour une personne qui effectue ses premiers tests gynécologiques. Cela peut être traumatisant pour une personne déjà fragile physiquement ou peu résiliente aux mauvais traitements. Ce médecin, gynécologue, ne considère pas les douleurs pelviennes sérieusement. Ses mots qu'il utilise: «La douleur c'est culturel», va à l'encontre même de son engagement professionnel.
