Went in to go see my mom on the third floor and there’s only allowed one visitor. You can only see them 2 times out of the week for an HOUR and you have to be 18 years or older. The people up in third west have issues and your really gonna prevent them from seeing their kids?

kim lilly-bernau

My son had his tonsils taken out and everyone was attentive and caring. They allowed me to be in recovery so I could comfort him when he woke up.

I was in on 3rd floor for 21 days from March 21 till april 16, I had 13 nurses an only to that were good. The rest had no knowledge care compassion or readiness to help me my son an I complained from the bottom up managers supervisors right up the ladder nothing was ever resolved. I'm waiting for my survey every question will be marked POOR. I need more surgery in July I and I'm terrified to come back, and it is my right to feel safe an cared for at my community hospital it hurts me an disappoints me to have to go to lakehuron.

Lab tech and receptionist were gr8. Buy COBAND. These poor kids are doing their job and I have to bully you in a review to "Do the right thing". I am allergic to tape. Its in my file.. The bandaid that was substituted for the paper tape took me 20 minutes to remove that evening with the help of a lot of vaseline. It hurt horribly, left peticheal bruising, took off skin and bled. That's ridiculous. Buy the COBAND! I'll update the review and give stars after someone contacts me. I had a photo to add that I will gladly share when I'm contacted.

Had many surgeries. There is not enough staff to treat the floor. Having to soil myself because no staff available not an excuse. My emergencies go thru Old Mercy on 10th Street and Electric. I am then transferred to Beaumont Royal Oak. They diagnosed my heart problems and have been treating me since. Doctor at McClaren told me to come back for more testing in one report and said I had a moderate heart attach in another. Say what! I go out of town now

Absolutely awful, my grandpa went in to the hospital because he wasn't feeling well, the doctors, and nurses were rude, unable to listen to what we had to say, nurse was impatient, the doctor was making excuses to why he was there he was …

This hospital sucks. I was in the waiting room for 20 minutes when this other lady came in for an ankle injury & got to a room right away. I have issues with my stomach & I've forced myself to eat since June. Each time I come here, they say the same things over & over. Nothing gets done about my stomach issue & its not getting any better for me. I want answers to what is causing my stomach issues. They tell me my tests look fine & that I'm fine, but obviously not when I'm still sick

Healing w Woodswoman

always caring and helpful and patient. I think this is a good hospital w professional kind and knowledgeable staff thanks for all you do for me and others.

The ER is a joke. If I could rate zero stars I would. They did nothing to help with my kidney stones and sent me home still in pain with nothing for it. The doctors don't care. Left me in the waiting room crying and puking for over a half hour, after they took me back, took another hour of crying and puking before they gave me anything that I told them doesn't work and sent me home.

My grandma is in the hospital and she's unresponsive, the nurse or nurse aide hasn't checked on her in hours. She hasn't been changed or repositioned since 7 this morning and it's almost 3 in the after noon. My grandma has been here 2 days and they're already sending her home. Not to mention she has chronic hepatic encephalopathy. They're lazy and only care about money not their patients wellbeing. I will never let any of my family come here ever again. This hospital is a joke

This hospital has always been disorganized! I think I’m being really nice by just saying disorganized! I have worked here and saw a lot of mistakes and if I had a choice I would never go there or suggest this place to anyone. I have Covid sitting in a waiting room already have vomited and the registration woman had given me a basin. A man had walked in after about 5 of us were admitted and went right back. I asked why and she committed that it was because of the severity. We all need to be seen because obviously we are here for a reason. Never again will I be back to this what ever you would like to call it!

Update: They released me while having a bad reaction to dilaudid, a powerful pain reliever. I spent 2 hours at home sweating and vomiting in the shower with the worst pounding headache I've ever had. When I told them what I was experiencing, they smirked and said it was the pain meds. They released me an hour later. Dr. Prakash is one of the people I told directly. Original post: Dr. Prakash is a horrible doctor. Beware! He could not care less if you're in pain! The nurses, for the most part, are disrespectful and Rude. This is a terrible terrible place to try to get well. From the time I reached 4th floor, I've had the worst hospital experience Ever. Stay away from that heartless doctor! I'm currently in room 420-1 and I'll NEVER be back. I strongly advise anyone who is ill or injured to seek medical help from any other hospital than this one.

Got bit by a bat last month. Received two follow up injections (apparently they must not have logged the second because they claim I didn't get that one either but I did), but missed my third due to schedule mixup. Tried to reschedule but …

Arrived at the ER on Christmas Evening with chest pain, admittance registered me immediately, informing me I would be taken in for a monitor hook up for heart attacks e en though there was no rooms available. So I was hooked up a results looked at by the ER Dr. Meanwhile out into waiting area which my husband and I went to restroom area so I could be close as I was vomiting. While waiting to be admitted the security guard bless his heart came around to check on us as my husband informed the receptionist where we would be. Soon we were taken back to an exam room, I was given exceptional care by all the nurses and the ER Dr.and even the girl who did the CT and exrays. They made sure my pain was addressed and I was made as comfortable as possible until I was diagnosed with blood clots in my lungs.. Having to be admitted waiting on a room they saw and checked on me often. Finally arriving onto the Cardiac wing the nurses made my getting settled wonderful. These nurses were so exceptional I just want their management to please give them the recognition they so desperately would love and need. I was in room 359 from 12-25 to 12-27 they were my Christmas Angels every one of them. Please Please praise them for making me feel so cared for my thankyous are not enough for what they do.

Worst staff. Completely lazy. Bad Attitudes and acts clueless when asked a question on what is going on. No compassion at all for patients. Staff acts like bully’s. They talk loudly and very badly about people. Truly sad to here and see. What is even sadder is you have a psychiatric unit for adults, but not for youth. Then want to send kids 3 to 4 hours away from home. Absolutely no compassion for the parents.

Taylor Sydney

I have never been to an ER that is such a huge waste of time and energy. Every time I or someone in my family has come here they're sent home with 0 answers after 5 hours of nothing. My aunt DIED after being sent home with double pneumonia because she was mentally handicapped and never taken seriously. I wouldn't take my worst enemy here if they needed care. Go to mercy instead.

Amanda hartman

My husband had a back fusion so he was there 3 days and no one offered a shower. He was late getting pain meds so he sat in bed in agony. He was pretty much tucked away in his room and no one checked on him not even his Aide. At night he couldn't sleep due to nursing staff hooting and hollering all night, so disrespectful when people need rest to heal. His doctor ordered some type of cooling machine to put on his back and only received half of the machine due to not getting the other part for it so he never got to use it so he left it there when he was discharged because he had no use for it.

My son has hydrocephalus since birth and a shunt He is 37 yrs old now. I bought him into emergency for systems of shunt malfunction which if left untreated he can die. They did all his bloodwork and CT scan and said everything was fine. But he wasnt. I had to argue with Nurses and staff. He was very lethargic and puking every 1/2 hour on the hour. They gave him meds that covered the problem and wanted to send him home. They finally sent him in an ambulance to 7 mile St. John's hospital where they found he had very low sodium which if it got any lower you can die. They gave him IV sodium and he was much better! Why didnt your ER staff see this problem in the bloodwork? He was also back in your ER last week and was sent out. I had to pick him up. You said he was fine but he was having a shunt malfunction this time. Staff said his CT looked fine so he is fine. I took him to St. John on Morros and found he was constipated and blocked his tubing in his stomach causing a shunt malfunction. You could have figured that out but just kicked him out instead. Your staff has been very rude also.

My Mom just got out and as wonderful as the nurse's were to her, I was not happy with cleaning. My mom asked to have her room and bathroom cleaned and after 3 hours she cleaned it herself. Also, for a doctor to tell her to "get over" the death of my father is horrible bedside manner.

Angeline Kapelanski

My parents have waited over 5 hours to be seen. They took X-rays and then couldn’t provide a doctor to go over the results. Go literally anywhere else.

Thomas Crumbaugh

*Best Nurses & Doctors* *They Really Went the extra mile to make sure we had everything we needed & wanted* Thank you very much McLaren Port Huron Hospital for the outstanding care ever.

Kristy Loxton

Very caring staff! Also, it's the only place in the world that has staff who can manage to get an IV in me. The Emergency Room staff recently saved me and my baby (29 weeks in gestation) from a very scary experience and quite possible pre-term labor. Every person from the intake person at the desk to the Nurse Practitioner who helped treat me was warm and friendly. I feel very confident to have my baby delivered there in about 10 weeks. :)

Alexandra Beach

McLaren NEEDS desperately to work on their triage system. I went in on December 8th (2016) having an obvious miscarriage, and they allowed several people who weren't in serious condition (like the lady who just had the sniffles) to go ahead …

Ellen LaPlante

Had my first experience here yesterday. My doctor ordered some x rays. I was in and out within 45 minutes and treated very well. Every person I had contact with was respectful, helpful and friendly. I have to go back for some procedures and hope I continue to have good experiences. Over a year later and I'm still happy with this hospital. Superior to any other I've ever experienced and I've been here many, many times now.

Amanda Gormely

If I could give zero stars I would. My Grandma went in for wound care and had a stroke under their care that they let continue happening. She tried telling them when it started and they didn't listen. Once the stroke was just about done they said she came in like that! She lost use of the arm she needed to drive her motorized chair she rode in on. They also NEVER administered the antibiotics she came in for.

I’ve become a “frequent flyer” at McLaren. Each time on the 4th floor. Also, the Women’s Wellness Center, etc. They are always so kind and make sure all my needs are met. Their response to any question and/or something I may need has always been instantaneous. There are a couple of Doctors in ER that are so unpleasant (jerks) though I just take them with a grain of salt. I wouldn’t go to another hospital.

Maxine Alter

I am really happy with how caring the nurses are on the floor compared to the ones in the ER part. I found the one nurse to be a little rude and how she was thinking my love one was delusional when he/she talks soft. I feel my love one got better care when they were put in a regular room. The nurses were very helpful and they did a great job.

Lisa Schuh

A patient is admitted suicidal and out of control on a Friday, and miracle of miracles, by Monday they are cured and deemed well enough to go home! They are truly caring and just genius in their mental health care--NOT. Go to Crittenton. That will probably be our next stop by the end of the day.

Christina Kacanowski

Why did the Parkinson's support group take over the hospital's reviews within the last two weeks? I see that the the positive reviews get thanks, and anything negative gets told that this is no longer hospital reviews. Could it be McLaren …

Amy Warren

Husband was discharged sent walking out weak and actively bleeding to drive himself home. He nearly passed out dricing less than a mile down the road where I had to pick him up. He had no restrictions and to boot they gave him some paper towel you would dry your hands with in the bathroom to catch his blood that he still had coming out. Confirmed by belief, if you our your loved one need quality care, don't go here.

Cindy

My mother was in and out of this hospital quite a few times. The first time I was impressed with her care and the nursing staff. My opinion quickly changed the second, third and fourth time she was there. The nursing staff was rude to her, making me feel quite angry. We wanted to put her in hospice at the end of her last visit and they stated that she wasn't ready for hospice. We finally got them to approve it, and as soon as she got there, the hospice nurse told us that she was going to pass before the next day! What was wrong with these Port Huron hospital nurses that they couldn't tell? She died at 7:45 am the next morning.

My doctor's office scheduled a mammogram and bone density test. I reconfirmed my appointment three days prior. I arrive for my scheduled appointment only to be told it was incorrect. Frustrated - I reschedule an appointment for three weeks later, a couple days prior I recieve a call the equipment is broken and need rescheduled yet again. I arrive on theirs scheduled appointment follow the directions on the sign, no staff is too be seen or even heard. A patient waiting tells those of us standing in a line that we needed to take a number. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! This was a PERFECT example of being treated like numbers, not people. As I sit here still waiting too even be checked in, I am evaluating all the commitment I have for the day, the length of my to do list and the fact that MY TIME is also very valuable. Incredibly shameful and certainly poor management. After finally having my number called, I asked if all department were delayed 45+ minutes including the department I need for my mammogram and bone density scan, I was informed yes it would be at least another 45 minutes. I turned around and handed my number to a mom who came with two daughters who would be waiting at least another hour. At this point for my own health and needs I will be immediately looking at other options even it means driving down to the Metropolitan area.

Fiance had surgery couldn't get pain meds, shallow test was ordered but never performed. Nursing team didn't respond to calls in a timely manner. Thankfully his PCP came to check on him and discharged him.

Wrong hospital for new review, still got a one star though from 2 years ago.

Sherelle Reed

While traveling for the holiday’s my husband visited the ER after having a stomach bug for more than 5 days. He needed IV fluids and an antibiotic. Instead the hospital ordered an unnecessary ct scan. When we received the bill, Mclaran had charged 5 x the national average for the service. While attempting to speak to someone regarding the bill we received rude and very unhelpful service. This hospital employs fraudulent and unethical practices. Beware. Seek care elsewhere.

Truth Bomb

DO NOT COME HERE FOR EMERGENCYS! My mother is having mini strokes, the doctor said she has signs of early dementia. Therefore her speech is slurd and can't remember things.. She had to go into the hospital 2ce by ambulance because of incontinence and hernia pain. They never bothered to admit her because there was alcohol on her breath and the interns said she was just drunk. She never even saw a doctor that night! Didn't test her for anything..Very unprofessional.???? NEXT VISIT- took my mother in..my cousin and I had to wait 8 HOURS IN THE ER just to find out IF she would be admitted! Had Ito order a PIZZA to the ER. submitted paperwork of her condition and the nurse said the doctor looked it over, I demanded to see the doctor and when he looked at it then he said yes. These people are incompetent! I didn't get home until 3 a.m.! If I could give it a zero I would!

I have received health care services at this hospital, both as an inpatient and outpatient, several times. Since being acquired by the McLaren Team, I feel as if the patient care has only gotten better. I am very comfortable recommending to others, the care and services provided by McLaren Port Huron Hospital.

My Daughter was seen in this ER on Feb 11, 2017 by a Dr.Marc Jones for signs and symptoms of a DVT, that she previously had the year before. She did not have insurance. We told him she was having the same syptoms as before, he looked at her keg, which was swollen, red and warm to the touch. She was given a fast ultrasound, and no labs were done. He diagnosed her with Cellulitis. Fast forward to March 20, 2017 we go to a different ER, same syptoms. They actually took blood because if her history and did a very thorough ultrasound only to find out she did have a DVT. So my daughter was walking around like a time ticking bomb!! All due to not having insurance. They did NOT value her life. I called and spoke with Patient Advocate Jeff on March 20, 2017 he was supposed to forward my message to him.72 hours later, no call back. So I called the Advocate again. He stated the manager was "off on March 21st, and he would contact him again. It is now March 29, 2017, no return call. I called today and left messages for both the Advocate and the ER manager. That Dr was negligent! They Advocate asked me " what I hope to get out if this" can you believe that? I'm contacting a lawyer, and Im may do more to bring awareness that ALL lives matter, regardless of if they have insurance to Mcclaren PH!! At the very least he should have did blood work, checked her PT/INR due to having a DVT a year ago. Oh and did I mention, my daughter is only 25 years old! This hospital, and that Dr needs to be held accountable!!! My daughter could have died!! This is the absolute WORST hospital!! And I'm truly disappointed not only in them, but this system!!

Maureen Webber

Went to the ER because I was having multiple symptoms listed for a female having a heart attack.... but doctor wouldn’t do any blood test that would check and tells me that a single cough caused a muscle spasm that brought on all The systems.... he even said the sudden sweating and disoriented feeling was because of that too ???? anyway from that point on I felt extremely disrespected, like I was making EVERYTHING UP!!! Sent me home where I am laying here still with multiple sharp pains in my chest and left arm

Cassie

I absolute can not rave enough about the nurses & nurses aides!! They are all absolutely amazing!!! However, Dr Alsayegh wrote me prescriptions, then when I took them to be filled (15 minutes after being discharged) the pharmacy needed to verify them, the "doctor" called the pharmacy & refused to verify them! Stating he had left the hospital & did not have my chart in front of him, he would not verify them until the following day!! What kind of "doctor" writes prescriptions, gives them to the patient, then refuses to verify them? I'll tell you what kind of "doctor," one who doesn't care about patients. I have chronic illness I was being treated for, but apparently one life doesn't really matter when you've already left for the day. That's just WAY too inconvenient, ESPECIALLY for a "doctor"! Such a shame when everyone else works SO hard. ****UPDATE**** 07/04/19 I have gone to this hospital dishman times over the passed 2 years & I truly feel this hospital has actually DECLINED in their service & care!!! Shocking because they barely deserved 1 star back then!!! If you have any kind of issue, they say they want to discuss it with the patient advocate, but they DO NOT have any intention of resolving it!! The E.R "doctors"do not want to see anyone more than once. If you have chronic illness, go somewhere else!!! If you have to be seen more than once in a year, you're either a junkie or a hypochondriac, as far as they are concerned(which their concern is very little). I don't think any of the drs obtain continuing education, what they learned(if anything) when they were in medical school (whether it be 4 years ago or 40 years ago!!) Medicine is constantly changing, ...not that you could EVER tell a dr at this hospital that. In their minds they are medical Gods, it's obvious from reading the reviews, the drs are the ONLY ones who feel that way. I hope the hospital got what they wanted out of the remodel...a beautiful hospital the community is afraid of & disgusted with!! Maybe they should have spent the money on better staff. IF YOU HAVE AN EMERGENCY DO NOT GO TO MCLAREN PORT HURON HOSPITAL!!!!!

Patricia Connor

Came into the ER with a broken leg (3 breaks) and all they did was put an ace bandage on it and tell me to go see my doctor. And they repeatedly asked “what I take at home for pain” and refused to give me anything for my excruciating pain (9/10). Thank God for BEAUMONT!

Raymond Rogissart

Although some of the staff are very courteous, I would very much recommend visiting a cancer center in the Detroit metropolitan area if you have the option. In my opinion, the individuals that work at this facility are impractical, …

Jimmy Withrow

Barb our RN in pediatrics was and is beyond words! Our son came in severely dehydrated, and has gone above and beyond any medical care I have ever recieved! We went to the gift shop to buy her a thank you gift but I wish I could give her so much more. Her level of care and concern was motherly and saint like. I can't say enough about the pediatric staff here.

LISA LONG

I went to the ER and was treated terribly by everyone except the nurse that took my blood. I only seen the PA on staff for a few seconds. She asked me a few questions, never touched or looked at me, ordered a few tests and sent me home by myself in the middle of the night. I had extremely high blood pressure, dehydrated, and a bloated gut, etc. Just found out that PA was able to leave notes about thoroughly checking me out without even touching me...how did that happen? Most of it was made up and lies!!! And yes, I can prove it!!! They need to get rid of that PA!!!

Suzanne Kawakami

The communication between staff, physicians and family is VERY POOR It seems the expectation is that the patient will inform the family of what the plan of care is. In our case my sister in law had to call my brother to inform him she was having surgery that day. Even after arriving at the hospital, no one bothered to talk to him or his daughter. A “hospitalist” physician was extremely rude and condescending to the family when he came in to visit and we asked questions.Minimal daily care was done by the staff also. Very substandard.

Lori Beck

What a blessing for the care and treatment of my son by Dr. Anthony Boutt & the entire outpatient surgical health care team. Efficient, informative, and professional teamwork is so nice to see. Also, very calm, clean environment. I sincerely thank everyone for helping my son.

Kennedy Craft

Take forever to get anything done. My bf had to get a nurse so HE could get me a pee cup, but yet they should be doing it and I wasn't given any direction. Him and I had no clue. Then we get yelled at for using the emergency call light because no one gave us a normal patient call button. They blamed me for not having a call button. Like I'm supposed to know where it is. I'm very very unsatisfied with this hospital. It should not take hours for just blood work and pee to be drawn. And my bf shouldn't be the one collecting my urine sample. Maybe this hospital needs to take pointers from metro hospital university of Michigan. They know what they are doing and care for their patients.

Mr. Handy

The hospital is seemingly very clean however I have been waiting over an hour now to get a blood draw done.. I have never waited this long anywhere else. They need to seriously look at how labs are getting done and sign in times vs finish …

I have lived in this town for approximately 10 years. In that time my wife and I have been there for several different reasons. Most recently, for myself, last year I fell and fractured my hip. They did an x-ray, didn't see anything so they did a catscan, they saw the fracture and 3 herniated discs. Gave me a prescription for crutches that I couldn't get until Monday as it was Friday night when I was there. So I was sent home with a prescription and a follow up with osteopathic associates. I did the follow up, they did an x-ray and said I was fine??? Last week I moved a lawn chair and heard a loud pop, very painful, waited untill the next morning and it was no better so went to er. They wanted to do an x-ray but I talked them into a catscan. The results came back as 2 osteoporotic type compression fractures that could be relatively acute. Sent me home, again on the weekend with a referral to an orthopedic Dr, no brace, not even an ace bandage to wrap the injury. My appointment is this Wensday @ 9 am. In the meantime I was just told to continue the pain meds I already had. I don't understand how they could do nothing about such a serious injury. I would not take my dog to that so called hospital. My wife has had similar outrageous diagnosis that were just as bad. The building may be suitable for an apartment building, please don't take anyone you care about there.

Christy Jones

This hospital is under qualified to take care of critically ill patients. My dad had a devastating post op stroke which took them DAYS to DX... Due to the lack of attention & care in the ICU the stroke progressed/evolved for days. The RN …

Your covid protocol kill people. And you don't care as long as you get your covid money.

Mary Dale

I was so disgusted the day I was at the hospital last week. I could not believe all the trash that was around the front and the side of the grounds! Gloves, mask, drink cups, food wrappers, papers. Do you have anyone that cleans up the grounds? I use to work for Mclaren in Flint. I am so embrassed that this is what is greeting the public and patient walking in to the facility!

jeremy morse

I went in to the Emergency room on Sunday found out i had Diverticulitis and had to be admitted. The hospital staff took very good care of me and made sure i had a comfortable stay. McLaren Hospital of Port Huron will be the place i will go and it's very clear and people friendly. I had the best nurse on 3rd name Sarah and the Male nurse on 1st named Randy. both had great personalities and made sure i was taking care of, i would give 5 stars to the both of them. Dr. Zubin Bhesania "MD" is a very great guy and great doctor and Dr. Gary James "DO" is my main doctor, he came and check up on me and made sure i was in good health before going home. Couldn"t ask for anyone better. The ER staff was very fast on getting me in and finding out on the issue i was having and 5 stars for them. Great Job to the McLaren Staff.

Ashley Horton

If y'all got an real emergency I recommend a different hospital. Wait time is outrageous and waiting rooms are gross.

Dennis Elliott

McLaren Port Huron only has 1 Cardiologist office that practices out of this hospital. I was a patient of this firm. I was not satisfied with them and they were also unhappy with me stating I would not follow Doctors orders (this was 10 years ago) I wanted to be evaluated by another Cardiologist group but was disappointed to find out that there is no other options for me if I wanted to be treated at McLaren Port Huron Hospital. This leaves me no other choice than to go to a Cardiologist who does the procedure I need in a Detroit hospital which is very inconvenient and stressful as I live over an hour and a half away from Detroit . This Hospital needs more Cardiologists. I just was in the hospital for a few days, upon release I immediately had to follow up with my heart doctor down in the city because there are no other firms here in the area. What a shame I have no other options.

Joanne Page

My husband had one surgery there last year and one three weeks ago. Also, visited with the pain clinic, used their diagnostic services and the ER at different times. Everyone is always kind, knowledgeable and professional.

Wally Gator

This review is for administrative practices at McLaren Port Huron. This 1 star is too much. They deserve a zero. The nurses are not included in any way in this review. They are hard working, caring, and compassionate. Traits not reflected in anyway at the top. My 94 year old grandmother was admitted with a UTI, pneumonia, and influenza. Testing confirmed all 3 on Saturday 11/11. She was released on Monday 11/13. I did not receive a call explaining her miraculous recovery and discharge. I have spoken to two representatives from McLaren after calling them to express my vehement displeasure with my grandma's treatment. Sadly, this is the second time McLaren threw my grandma to the curb. Last winter she fell and injured herself. She had great difficulty walking and could not use her right arm due to the pain. I took her to the emergency room when she couldn't take the pain any more. She was admitted approximately 8am. She was told around noon that there was nothing serious enough to keep her there. These were not insurance issues on my grandma's behalf. My grandma did nothing wrong except choosing the wrong hospital.

Kathleen Pilgrim

Took my husband to emergency and every single staff person was extremely nice, curteous, very informative and they were very quick with all the tests, etc. They took great care of my husband and me, too! There was no waiting time.... something was always being done and had him in a room as soon as last test was done! Thank you all for making us as comfortable as possible ♥️

Brenda Goodine

5 fl east night shift is the worst!!! If you end up on the bathroom floor and you are on 1 to 10 pound weight limit, they will leave you there until you pull yourself up. They treat you like you are bothering them. It takes 3 aides and over three hours and your temperature to start to climb before they will let the nurse know that you just asked for your meds, even though you have been asking about your meds for over 3 hours. I think it's their job (for being lazy) to make your medical condition worse. Suppose to be there for a one night stay, but because of the night shift crappy job another day was added. Day shift will work to reverse the damage from the night shift aides. Night shift aides will retaliate. Don't need these games from incompetent night shift aides who acts like they don't what to be there to work or that its a bother to work on you. So told them to discharge me where I could have better care at home. Did a crappy job on that too. Gave me the follow up information no prescription and made me walk out around 9:45 even though I was tag FALL RISK on my wrist. IF YOU NEED AN IMPORTANT SURGERY GO TO DETROIT OR ANN ARBOR.

Mark Olsen

For claiming to care about their patients, its ridiculous that we sat here with an empty saline bag for 45 minutes waiting without a single nurse checking in. When approaching the station everyone is sitting around chatting drinking coffee. Its bad when river district gives better service. Rn Katie was the only person that seemed to do her part

Susan Jeffery

I had some major surgery and was in ICU for 6 days and was absolutely amazed at they way I was treated, they were awesome and I hope they never lose Amy S. She is the most incredible , honest, medical professional anyone could ask for. I am for ever grateful to her and Don, as well as Dr. Azoury, dr tumma ????

Went to the emergency room where the so-called doctors need to practice their oath they took do no harm. I witnessed The physician writing a walk-in patient a prescription for opioids she was never registered in the ER where I was. The so-called doctor that was assigned to me was very pregnant and afraid to come near me when I pointed out on my side where I was having a lot of pain she didn't even touch me she just kind of looked at my side. She came back with findings that I had like 12 kidney stones when I only had one when I asked her what was wrong with my side she said I told you my findings in a very snotty way. If I wanted to be demeaned and talk down to I'd go home and stay with my kids I came to the emergency room for help I pay my bills I pay my insurance I'm entitled to competent care which this emergency room is not capable of providing.

My father went in to Mclaren hospital Oct 2nd, 2018. He had a fall, due to him being weak and dizzy from pain. 911 was called and he was admitted. He was in the hospital for 3.5 weeks. They took out his gallbladder during that time, all is fine there. Let me reiterate that he had a fall though. Every day for those 3.5 weeks he complained about neck pain, and no one ever ordered an x-ray. NO ONE ordered an x-ray. He had a fall. He complained of/mentioned neck pain every day while there. No x-ray or imaging was ever ordered to check out his neck despite this. I'm being a bit repetitive, yes, but my point is despite knowing he had a fall, and him mentioning EVERY DAY that his neck hurt no one bothered to order ANYTHING to see if there was a problem. We have just found out there is a broken bone in his neck. He broke his neck when he fell, and this hospital, despite his complaints never ordered an x-ray or any other imaging. COMPLETE FAILURE and negligence. I have never been so angry.

I went to the ER with severe neck pain. I was admitted to the ER within15 minutes of arriving. The doctor didn’t see me for a little over an hours due to a critical emergency patient that arrived just before me. The staff however kept us …

My Dad had knee replacement surgery and the staff was amazing. The nurses are fantastic; so friendly and helpful. The hospital was clean and roomy with a large waiting area. His room was gigantic with a couch and chair, making us all comfortable. Great experience.

A family member had heart surgery and the surgical staff and the surgeon were the best. Answered and explained everything. They are available 24/7. to answer concerns. The Cardiac ICU Nurses who were the hands on for my family member were top notch. The best.. I could call anytime to see how the family member was.. no problem they answered all my questions. I can't say enough nice things about the nursing staff who were involved directly with the care of my family member. Thanks You

Went in for anterior hip replacement and overnight stay. I have spent more than my fair share of time in hospitals, so I feel I speak from experience. Found the hospital staff to be friendly, competent and professional. Was impressed …

At times you find courteous staff, but the doctors will remind you that you are just a number. They care more about reimbursements and incentives than the actual patient. They have no tolerance for answering your questions, but they have enough time to sit around and plan their weekend.

Loved the ER appointments on the website. Every single person we interacted with while I was there for stitches was amazing. They were kind, friendly, and caring. Anyone working the ER from security, check in, intake, nurses and the PA on the night of 8/15 deserve to be recognized.

Got in the middle of my dogs fighting. Got about 8" by 4" of my calf ripped open. Was bleeding quite badly, (no arteries were cut) there was not one person in the waiting room and noone even looked, to see how bad it was for an hour and 45 mins! Thank goodness they didn't hit an artery, I would have probably died. The doctor blew me off, because I was upset about the dog fight and not very friendly. He turned me over to a nurse in training for 25 stitches. She actually did a good job and was very friendly. Mercy for me, next emergency!!

Lab department needs significant improvement with process and staffing. Need to hire more phlebotomist or dual train receptionists to draw blood. It took 20 minutes just to get called up to register and then at least 30 minutes to get blood drawn. Customer service needs significant improvement.

All the employees are so friendly! This hospital offers an array of services for your healthcare needs. It is an ever growing medical facility. All around handicapped accessible. Valet service is offered at the main door. Gratuity of your discretion. Masks and sanitizers are offered at different locations within the hospital and main entrance. There's a nice gift shop.

Wish I could make this a 0.... Whoever the young girl is working front desk in emergency tonight is a rude and uninformative person. She was extremely hostile and snotty and would not help us or even give us information we were asking of. We were there to see a specific doctor who was on call and she came out and kept saying she never even heard of him. Then when my mother in law called up there she told her that patients were ahead of us. So why didn't you tell us that when you found that information out? Is it really so hard to do your job? If you're at the front desk shouldn't you have social and communication skills? Why the eye rolls? And snootiness.

I went to the ER in SEVERE PAIN caused by a 9mm kidney stone. I went to check in and they said sorry we are busy you will have to wait. The pain was so bad I almost passed out and I told them that but I didn't make a difference. I waited about 20 minutes just to get to triage where they determine who goes first to see the doctor, being a nurse I know that PAIN had priority, I told them I was in SEVERE PAIN and needed to see a doctor, again I was told that I had to wait she says everyone needs to see a doctor, she was very rude. I was very upset and left and went to LAKE HURON MEDICAL CENTER. There waiting room was full but they took me right back and I saw a doctor within 10 minutes. The nurses and staff were very quick to treat me and Dr. Murphy was a excellent doctor. Needless to say I will NEVER come back to McLaren again !! I recommend LAKE HURON MEDICAL CENTER in an emergency situation.

This hospital should be called "the most useless hospital on the planet". They like to dump patients in the middle of the night with no warning and without actually assisting them. Do not go here if you need actual care.

Maeleyana Mackey

Trash came in at 3am super slow and they still took over 3 hours to get us out

Alexander Karig

Dishonest, unprofessional and straight rude staff. Timelyness and accuracy is the furtherest this from facilities mind. If you love waiting an hour in the ER or several hours on a 15 minute wait... by all means try this death trap

I was thrown into the psych ward for complaining about jaundice, severe headaches, limb paralysis, severe gut disturbances, and light sensitivity after moving into a federally subsidized toxic apartment with various noxious odors. I drove myself to the ER because my doctor was out of town and I was told by her staff and a friend who is a doctor that I needed to get lab work immediately. After getting lab work, I was told everything was fine and was asked to stay for a psych evaluation. I asked to leave. I was held under duress against my will and then escorted by security to the psych ward. I would have been able to leave within 72 hours if I had agreed to be medicated for "bothersome thoughts". Due to my undergraduate research and common sense, I refused medication. I was held for two weeks against my will, exposed to coercion on a daily basis by staff psychiatrists who were not of sound mind (heavily medicated) to take "low doses" of extremely harmful drugs, escorted in handcuffs by two police officers through the main lobby twice, and forced to present my case in front of a judge (who released me). While in the psych ward, I was refused access to my medical records/labs from the ER. After I was released, I saw that my bilirubin was extremely high and my AST/ASL ratios were off. I made several complaints while I was detained and never received any response regarding my complaints once I was released. Many of the personnel were kind, but the policies and practices of this hospital as a whole are abysmally wrong.

I was recently in the E.R here & the service & credibility of this place is GREAT. I went to thank the nurse Pauline for taking such great care of me during my stay. HIGHLY recommended!!

Worst ER ever! I went to the ER, the first I asked for the cost of my copay, the secretary claimed she couldn't tell me, that I had to signed up and wait for them to tell the copay (totally false, they only want to force you to sign up so they can charge up. Once I nurse finally took me to a room, it took them 45 minutes for a doctor to come and see me. I was in a lot pain in a neck, the doctor just told me to wait a few more day and see. Then it took the doctor 30 minutes for my release papers! I wasted almost 2 hours for nothing. The copay was 100 dollars, which is insane! The doctor saw me for about 2 minutes and charged me 100 dollars. I am still in pain and planning to go to another, real hospital. It's so sad to see how this Hospital only wants money. Everything they do it's like a scam scheme: first they don't want to tell you the cost, then you wait a long time to see a doctor, then the doctor doesn't do anything. Completely waste of time!!! Walk-in clinics are way cheaper. Always ask for the copay before they sign you up. If they don't want to give you the copay, they want to scam you.

My husband was in for 3 days back in November. Asked numerous times for pain meds...was never given to him. His room was freezing no matter how high the thermostat was turned up. My mother was in for 2 days just about a month ago. She was under 3 blankets crying it was so cold in there. She could see her breath when she got up to use the bathroom. How are patients supposed to recover from surgery or illness if they're freezing in their rooms?

I have been to the ER 4 Times in less than a week an all yhe do is pump me with drugs give me medication for gerds when they didn't even do test to diagnose me with it an my symptoms have continued to get worse. When a person says they don't feel safe being at home with an illness that they don't know about maybe you should admit them an do proper scans an test instead of force feed them medicine send them home an hope for the best

I went to the emergency room with my girlfriend. Both of us needed to be seen. When asked for my reasons to be seen, I explained about how my right arm has been randomly going numb for over 2 months and on July 4th I started a scratchy throat that has grown into almost nonstop coughing fits that are extremely painful. I was briefly looked at got a chest xray and diagnosed with bad pneumonia. That I already knew cause a cold turns to pneumonia with me everytime. When being discharged after hearing my diagnosis I asked about my arm ( my initial complaint) and was told its related to my condition. How can this numbing issue from over 2 months ago be related to an issue that started less than 2 weeks ago. I was not treated or cared for. Instead I was pushed through and ignored. I don't understand how these "medical professionals" can get paid the amounts they do when they don't care. The next time I need medical treatment I will not go there. If I am in the parking lot about to die and the next hospital is 20 mins away I'll take my chances and travel 20 mins!!

Went to ER for shoulder pain I've been having, was never told that the physician that saw me was not in network for my insurance, and didn't find out until I received a $600 bill in the mail. $600 for looking at my shoulder for less than 2 min and telling me to go somewhere else. Most likely not a problem with this hospital alone but with most hospitals. And they wonder why people don't like/ trust our Healthcare system.

Bailey Coppess

Is there a 0 star rating?? Terrible wait time, we've been here over almost 2 hours and my fiance hasn't even seen a nurse yet when he needs a doctor for flu symptoms. I've also seen a nurse on her phone when she should be doing her job. They're also not very friendly.. definitely will not recommend to anyone.

Brandan Adkins

Probably the worst experience of my life. Staff is under qualified and also forgetful an talk very poorly of their visitors loudly in front of them while i watched it make people uncomfortable they were talking about. Do better. Be better.

Your patient portal has not worked for months. Today (9/8/21) I am attempting to open up my patient portal and can't even link to the page now. I am following the instructions and still have difficulty. And please don't use your generic response "Our patient care advocate...." I know him. He's a great human being, but I need your IT dept to correct an IT issue. And I certainly didn't want to post this comment in this section but can't find another section to do it privately. I even attempted to log into your Facebook page to send a private message and wasn't allowed to. And in reading most comments about how terrible people feel employees are for patient care, I have always found the opposite. Your health care employees are fantastic. I won't go anywhere else as your health employees and volunteers are phenomenal. Please assist with the patient portal. Thank you.

I had 8 am appointment in wound care. Nurse was great and I was taken back to room right away. She did her initial interview with history and vitals, typical stuff. She finished her portion of the visit and said, “ok Dr. Hosey will be right with you.” Over an hour later he finally came in to see me. Once there he was very professional and helpful, but over an hour waiting for him to come into the room, or for anyone to just poke a head in and say “sorry doc got backed up” or something is ridiculous. My time may not be valuable to them, but it is to me.

Came to the ER for post op pain from a gallbladder surgery and they ran every test to make sure I was okay. The dr and nurses are very caring and I would recommend this place any day over Lake Huron.
