Impossible to get an appointment even if an emergency. Two ear infections and another health problem that needed medical attention immediately and had to resort to walkin clinic and hospital. But yet Doctor has signs up in his office asking his patients to please not use walkin clinics to please get an appointment. Being a patient of Dr Carter is like not having a Doctor at all. So if your a person that doesn't go to doc very often this is the Doctor for you. Then when Doctor at hospital only gave me 5 days of antibiotics that even the Pharmacist questioned was enough to solve my problem. Called for an increase in prescription and was denied unless seen by Doc but they are closed for next 5 days. Also I'm Diabetic on top of that Signed LOOKING FOR ANOTHER DOCTOR

For all of the posts in relation to not being able to make an appointment, maybe talk to the Federal and provincial government. The reason it takes so long is due to the lack of GP's. The reason for the lack of GP's is that they don't get paid as much as other fields of Medicines. Maybe call your local MP to suggest an increase of OHIP payments to GPs as they are over-worked, over capacity with patients and under paid. Just saying. I happen to enjoy the Carter's and find them delightful. You really should be posting issues that they have control over. Cheers

I understand covid has made things difficult - but maybe consider buying a second phone line. Once I finally got through, I was told Dr. Carter is triaging and they will get back to me. This was a week ago and I've heard nothing about making an appointment since. I haven't been able to reach anyone myself either. The phone line is constantly in use.

Impossible to get an appointment anymore. So disappointing. Looking for a new doctor for myself, kids, and husband. It's absolutely atrocious that you need to go to emerg in order to see a doctor- if not, prepare to wait 2 months to see the "doctor"... if you even see him at all.

Dr. Carter is one of the best GPs I've ever worked with in my life. I've had several and am chronically ill, so I spend more than my fair share with him. He is always empathetic, sympathetic and professional. He doesn't gaslight me, as several doctors had in the past. He is knowledgeable and wise. Wise enough to admit when he doesn't know the answers and is more than happy to help connect you to someone who may. Something else I rarely saw in other practitioners through the years. He has been amazing since the day he took over the practise, despite having inherited far too many patients from his predecessor, who was also too kind for his own good. He may be hard to make an appointment with, but when you get there, he gives you his undivided attention and never rushes his patients out the door. In this day of instant gratification, it seems patients have lost patience. If he is guilty of anything, in my humble opinion, it's that he cares too much for too many with very little thanks, it appears.

My review is soley based on the fact u cant make an appointment with in a month of when u call. Atleast its down to 40 days because when i called last time it was 2 months. Other people have told me that they only had to wait 2 weeks so i dont know why both times ive tried ive been given appointments over 40 days away. Thanks doctors. I guess its only for check ups.
