They're super friendly, knowledgeable and love animals.
Staff knowledgeable. Prices a little high but it was easier to get to than my regular vet.
Updating my be review, have nothing but positive experiences here. Took great care of my dog Molly! Thanks to the great staff!
Very friendly...always fantastic service!
Good furniture for the buck!
Even during these crazy times, the team at Elgin Animal Hospital were willing to help our cat at a moments notice. When we moved to St. Thomas we were devastated to leave our old vet, but after one visit with Elgin Animal Hospital, we knew it was the right fit. Cannot say enough wonderful things about the team and the service. Thank you for keeping our fur baby healthy and for everything you do.
Such friendly staff...always helpful!
Wouldn't take my dog no were else
Friendly and great service, my little Chance got Spayed recently and they took great care of her.
Yesterday was our first time at the Elgin Animal Hospital. My two cats were so difficult to get into their bags because the last time they were in their bags, it was a LONG drive from Toronto to St. Thomas and they were so scared. We arrived late for our appointment and the lady at the front desk was very kind and understanding. I appreciated that so thank you to that lady. Once we got in to see Dr. Julie Must, she was very kind and considerate to our two cats who were nervous at first and Luto (male cat) charmed the doctor with his cuteness. She answered all my questions and concerns. It was the first time we were able to be in with our cats since late year was a pandemic. Thank you, Dr. Must. I recommend this place.
Dr. Must is my favourite vet. She has helped me with my shepherd. She is a wonderful person and is a straight up person. Today we had to put our little chihuahua down and she was wonderful. Thank you
We are very happy with this animal hospital! The staff are caring, attentive, and skilled at what they do. The vets here are top notch! We switched from another local vet to Elgin Animal Hospital and only wish we had done so earlier. Highly recommended!!
Outstanding vet's office! One of my dogs had a difficult issue that two different vets from another clinic could not treat. Dr. House from the Elgin Animal Hospital successfully treated my dog in one visit! His assistant, Tania, also exceeded all expectations. She was efficient, professional, and had a very natural, calming influence on my nervous dog. They made a great team and I've made this clinic our permanent family vet's office! If you're not happy with your current vet or if you're new to the area, then these guys are your answer!
All though we had to say goodbye to Bella, the staff were very compassionate and supportive
Always friendly and courteous staff. Can not say a bad thing about this place. We get food, prescriptions and check ups done here. All have been excellent experiences.
Excellent! I take both my GSP's here and couldn't be happier with the service. One of my dogs (Maia) has allergies and scratched so much her chest looked like it had been through a cheese grader. We tried everything and nothing worked. So we decided enough is enough and went to the vet. After one visit with Julie ..she took one look and knew exactly what was going on and prescribe some medicine. The scratch literally stopped after 2 days. It's been 6 months and Maia is no longer scratching, the hair on her chest grew back. Can;t say enough good things about this place. Staff are friendly they genuinely care about animals and the service is great!
Elgin animal hospital is always wonderful. The staff are kind and the service is great. We generally attend to get flea/tick protection and they are always willing to go through the various options with us. There was once where my dog had an issue where she seemed to have a seizure - I contacted the hospital and they were extremely responsive and able to squeeze me in despite not having an appointment. I am extremely grateful for their services.
Staff is very nice and love to see my animals! Prices are not the cheapest though
Great vets for our family dogs
Great staff. Very friendly
Excellent care for my pets.
Excellent Vet Hospital. Friendly knowledgeable staff.
I adopted a cat from a local shelter who they were working with. My cat had been hit by a car before I adopted her and they gave her a second chance to live. we had to take her back to get spayed & they remembered her! she's purfect now! thanks for your kindness and compassion you show.
Fantastic for our canines
My puppy was treated by dr Britt and she did amazing work! Definitely recommend going to see her!
My 6 year old cat wasn't well - I called first thing and even though they didn't really have an appointment slot they still made time for us to come in (like an hour after I called). My cat wasn't eating or drinking so it was some urgency. She was seen, treated and given medication and food to take away. She was feeling better in no time at all. Thank you so much.
We like that we can visit Bubbles and the office staff when we pick up Ruby's food & treats!
Good service from Dr. House for our cat.
Only place for our pets.
Staff are all very friendly and extremely helpful
My pets don't go anywhere but here. Dr Mahovlich and staff are the BEST at what they do. Caring, compassionate and extremely professional.
This has been our vet clinic since we moved from Toronto in 2015. Great, professional staff, caring and compassionate. No "upsell" for unnecessary testing, a nice change from some clinics, where blood work and x-rays are de rigeur for everything. Our pets see Dr House, but I understand Dr Mahavlich is also pretty terrific.
My fur-babies have been well taken care of at the Elgin Animal Hosp. Most recently my Yorkie had to have a large canine removed due to a nasty injury running/playing outside Thanksgiving weekend. This was the only Vet where I could get my fur-baby in-for his urgent tooth removal within 3 days. After his surgery, antibiotics, dental cleaning and a restful day recuperating at the Vet's he was able to come home later that day. My Yorkie has healed well with no complications per instructions for his home care.
Such a great atmosphere to take your pet. Very supportive staff, very friendly and knowledgeable. Fair prices as well for your fur babies.
I wouldn't take my Furry Friends anywhere else! My Rotty LOVES DR. ADAM MAHOVLICH! She just had surgery last Monday and is doing well.
Coach Shula was looked after in a timely fashion and treated professionally, with respect and kindness mixed in.
Very helpful
During the pandemic my cat had an emergency and most of the local vets refused to see her but this place. Not only did take her in right away, but they diagnosed and treated the problem with ease. Especially good since my cat is spicy and doesn't like strangers. On that note, they do need to sedate my cat for her safety as well as the doctors and technicians which I'm 100% okay with. I found the pricing fair and I don't feel pressured into unneeded medications or procedures. Dr. House and the rest of the team are so awesome, I'm switching from my doctor in Toronto to this place instead. I trust them with my kitty.
Friendly staff. Good service.
Kind and caring staff, always feel welcome and comfortable relying on them for help.
These people are great! Always get me in when quickly when I need it, usually same day.
Kind and caring staff
Wonderful and knowledgeable staff and doctors. Very kind and compassionate. Been very happy with this vet.
I go there with my pets for over 15 years. I absolutely trust them!
The STAFF at Elgin Animal Hospital really help reduce the stress of bringing in my FUR BABIES for any procedure. They have an EXCELLENT COVID plan to help us during these UNCERTAIN TIMES.
This review is from 12ish years ago, Mr. Vet I understood it's a business, but I was very shocked at the lack of compassion you had when my dog who wasn't even a year old had double phenomena. We were unable to pay for the vet bills in full, begged for a payment plan, yet you stated pay to cure him or pay to put him down. I'll never forget that as long as I'm alive. Thankfully I found out about the Farley Foundation, and spoken to your secretary and she got in contact with. They stepped in and helped with the Vet Bills. Staff A++ The vet I dealt with zero compassion. I switched to Aylmer Veterinary Clinic, who was so much cheaper then you and had so much compassion for my buddy!
Great service except for... Getting quoted $180 (after tax) for a neuter of my male cat Take the cat in and a few hrs after the drop off get a call about his annual shots... So that jumps the price to about $250.... Then go to pick him up at the end of the day and the bill is over $350 because someone decided to give him advantage heartworm, flea and earmite meds without asking permission!! I am glad they took care of my family cat but did not appreciate being contacted about the inflated bill! My family is NEVER taking any of our fur babies their again and my wife used to take her dog there before her and I got together. So consider getting an inflated bill without your consent before going there. No matter how good the service to the four legged animals is... The two legged ones only have so much money and budgets and need to be informed first!! Esp for something non-life threatening!!!
Friendly staff and great to our pets.
High recommend wonderful people
Staff amazing, accommodated us at the last minute Our very grumpy dog loves them
Seam like nice people. I was just asking questions.
Good
I called the Elgin Animal Hospital desperate because my dog had been vomiting and blood in his stool for a day and a half. Merlin is my first pet so I was very worried. The day before I spent 6 hours waiting for a veterinarian to see my dog at the London Emergency Hospital with no luck. Not impressed at all but that's another story. Anyway, I was able to book an appointment this morning with Dr. Julie Must. She saw my dog completed all kinds of tests including xrays, called me with a follow up call and gave me directions about how to administer the meds. With covid-19 going on I couldn't see Dr. Must but I sure will give her a hug when I will be able to. Thank you Julie! You're the best!????????
I made an appointment with Dr. Must for my dog to be seen today. She was to have her diet and weight evaluated and also the concerns about her medication addressed. She is also in dire need concerning her anal glands and previous imaction. I arrived at the appointment only to be told that Dr. Must was not available to see Ruby and the technician understood that Ruby was just there to be weighed. I informed her that if that were the case I would have had her weighed when I was there on Tuesday to pick up her medication. I am now faced with taking Ruby to the emergency veterinarian. I am majorly dissatisfied with the recent way things are being handled. Covid makes it difficult for everyone but I do believe it should be possible to book an appointment and expect to have the issues addressed.
It's more than a vet it's family to our 4- legged children ❤
Such kind staff. They always are very good to my pup.
Excellent care, little expensive
Friendly staff
The staff were amazing here! We took them 9 puppies not only were they great with us and them they helped from our vehicle and back without hesitation! Will definitely be going back!!!
Great service.
The total cost was $189 more than the original quote requested. When picking up my kitty, I was informed of all the costs including what medication she will be taking. I thought they had handed me the medication within the papers but realized after once leaving that they had forgotten to give the medication to me. I called them and the technician apologized so I headed on back to pick it up. I live out in Rodney, this would have created quite an issue let alone obtaining the very important medication that they had just described. I also noticed my kitty wasn't given a cone to wear in order to keep my her from accessing her wound. Which is clearly negligible and there were no apologies or any sign of remorse from Dr. Julie Must. I will no longer be taking my pets to the Elgin Animal Hospital. Absolute negligible service.
They have great staff. My dog doesn't get too nervous on her visit.Have been going here for several years now. I have been using this vet for two cats and two dogs.
We love how friendly Elgin Animal Hospital is and of course their mascot Bubbles. My daughter built this special play box to keep her out of trouble.
As with most vets they charge you for things that you do not feel is necessary, however I assume they are simply following industry regulations. Overall good experience. I have some questions as to whether they are using the most up to date treatments, but they do care very much for the animals they treat.
We had a very sick cat, they were gentle with her and explained all our options. Sadly she was not able to live. They were considerate of what we were going through, even staying late on the Friday of a long weekend so she didn't have to keep suffering. We will take our next fur baby to them as well.
Good people
Excellent friendly staff, Doctors know what they are doing and take special care if your pets. Tukie our 4 year old fur baby.
Very friendly and careing
I cannot thank the amazing staff at Elgin Animal Hospital enough for taking care of our dog Darla in a time of need. We adopted a dog who required regular veterinarian services. At the time we were with another local vet clinic. Our pup was treated by this other vet clinic, sadly receiving poor veterinarian service & zero aftercare. She was left with an infection, in pain and with open surgical wounds from a general spay and dew claw removal. The staff at Elgin did not hesitate to get our fur pup seen quickly and cared for with the highest level of compassionate care possible. Not only do I have the privilege to work professionally in partnership with this fine team, I now have them as our family vet clinic. You truly put our worries at rest. I highly recommend Elgin Animal Hospital.
They have good hours, the staff are friendly and they have boarding services.
Thanks for taking care of Medina :)
Felt very disrespected about wanting to make my own desicion about not putting my dog down so my wife and I could spend one last moment together with him .... . I knew he was getting weaker and the vet stormed out of the room on me when I said . No I don't want to put him down here ... . I still can not belive the way I was treated . I took our dog home to be with my wife and I where he quietly faded away 30 minutes later . Surprisingly I still paid in full for the Disrespectfully ending 10 min service.
Dr. Adam is wonderful. Kind, understanding and honest! All the staff here are friendly, patient and understanding. Thanks to you all at both locations!
Staff were exceptional, friendly, well organized, caring and compassionate. Our vet Dr. House was amazing always made the extra effort for us.
Best animal hospital I've ever been to. Very friendly and compassionate staff. When we thought it was time to put down my older cat they gave us very affordable options that allowed us to have another year and a half with her. Even though we moved to London a couple of years ago, we still make the trip to St.Thomas with our fur babies.
Caring staff
They don't care. I took my dog there, right to the front door and told them she was in distress and couldn't breathe. They said no we can't help. My dog passed away that day. I appreciate the Hospital reaching out and your condolences. I was at your hospital on March 8 of 2021. I tried calling at 8 am but there wasn't anyone answering the phone. I showed up at 8 am, holding my dog in a blanket. I told your current staff my dog is in distress and she can't breathe. Your staff asked if I was a current client and then said sorry we can't help you. I sat in your parking lot bawling my eyes out trying to call around and find a place to take my dog. She couldn't breathe the whole time. Why would your staff turn a dog at their door away? Your staff knew it was an emergency. I just desperately needed help for her.
Nice good care quickly for my fur family
As new clients who waited 6 weeks for an appointment, we were barely acknowledged when we walked in the door. No eye contact, no smile, no welcome statements. Just stood around looking at the dog food display. Same upon leaving. Very cold environment. My overly friendly dog was even nervous of the vet. Also, the vet cut my dog’s nail too short and it bled. Not a great meet and greet. I didn’t say anything. Just paid my $100 new client fee and left. They sent me a satisfaction questionnaire later in the day so I filled it out honestly. Got a reply defending all staff. It’s my issue, apparently. They said they are too busy and overwhelmed with new patients since COVID now anyway and so I’m returning to my old vet I had before I moved - even though it’s a 45 minute drive. It’s worth it for my peace of mind and for how lovingly my dog is cared for at Caradoc Animal Clinic.
My friend took her cat out to be put down this morning people are friendly there
My little guy loved it here. They were so nice and helpful!!
Excellent service and care for our pets.
Wonderful very kind people who treated our cats in a gentle way and us with respect.
I do not recommend this Veterinary Clinic. Took my cat there to be diagnosed with stage 4 Kidney Failure. Now I know what that means but I took the Vet's advise and give my cat a "fighting chance" (her words not mine). I bought the 2 weeks medication recommended and yes she was holding her own so I bought another weeks worth and was charged dispensing fees for 2 pills. I thought this was a bit excessive. I brought it to their attention and was told they would credit my account. After 3 weeks I decided to buy more meds for her to last up to 3 months because of dispensing fees but I was a bit hesitant because it was over $100 dollars. I was reassured I could return for credit if she dies. Well the day came where I had to put my cat down and guess what? No credit and no reimbursement. I was told by "Doctor Death" (my name for him as he wasn't my original Vet) that reimbursement was not possible. I paid my full bill and left. Please be advised that this is not a Vet owned clinic. It is owned by a corporation. The Vet who did the euthanizing was not empathetic but cold. Gone are the days of Vet owned Clinics who care about you and your pet. This clinic is simply after the money for the almighty corporation.
It was my first time contacting this vet to see if my animal could get an emergency apt, I understand they get booked up but the woman on the phone was so disrespectful and spoke to me like trash, I’m kinda glad she was though because I now know to NEVER take my animals there, and I will be informing everyone I know not to bring there animals here. If you don’t care about the animals don’t care for them, find a different career path. Pretty upset that I haven’t even stepped in the door and have a rating like this.. sad..
They gave my cat a second dose of vaccines, which can lead to health problems for her, and then they tried to charge me for it! They don't care to distinguish their patients apart. Obviously their records are a mess. Don't trust them.
The staff are GREAT!! They love the pets as much as the owners and they know what they are doing and are ready to help and answer any questions you may have. Excellent experience for our puppy and us.
Excellent staff, well organized, very efficient.
Can't say enough good things about the Staff! Friendly, polite and very knowledgeable!!
Prices are outrageous and were not disclosed up front. Vet was not very sympathetic and was quick to suggest termination of our pet. Invoice was mailed and totaled $650. Should never have set foot in this business. We recently moved to St.Thomas. Took our cat in because he was in distress. He was observed for the day and given fluids and a blood test. Given back to us at the end of the day with no change in his condition. We were not given a reason or diagnosis for our cats condition and we were told that there is nothing more to be done and termination is recommended. This created a stressful situation for our family. We decided to take him home and within a week our cat has made a full recovery. All I got was a bad experience and feel we were overcharged for minimal services. No follow up was given on the cat's condition or empathy for the situation. Having owed several cats and dogs over the years this is without a doubt the worst experience we have ever had with a vet.
They are very caring and takes good care of our four legged friends. Vet bills are always high.
