We love Mission Ridge Animal Hospital! Dr. Wilson and the staff always get our injured wildlife patients in when we need them. They have helped us with birds, deer fawns and even porcupines! The staff are always friendly, helpful and interested in us and our organization. Dr. Wilson has been one of our volunteer veterinarians for the last three years and loves the challenge! Very helpful and friendly staff. I didn't have an appointment and they were able to fit me in within a few hours. They were able to diagnose and treat my cat very quickly and at minimal cost. I am required to use veterinary food for my cat, but I find their prices reasonable. If there is a vert facility to use in St. Albert, this is the one.

I recently got a new puppy and have been using Mission Ridge for several years. Over the years I have not had any issues with Mission Ridge so I brought my new puppy to Mission Ridge. However, in the breeder contract I was to have my puppy looked at within 72 hours to ensure a healthy puppy. Upon booking this appointment I was sent a puppy care plan package. Between receiving the email and bringing the puppy to the appointment I was unable to review the plan emailed to me (my problem). Anyways, when the appointment was completed I spoke with the vet on the phone for a lengthy period. During this conversation she explained the puppy care plan. I informed her that I was emailed it previously and have not had time to review it however within this conversation we pre-booked the next puppy appointment for vaccines. I asked the question if I could have more time to look over the puppy care program and have a final decision upon my next appointment. She said that was not an issue and that within the puppy plan we are allotted 5 free vet visits and that the amount I paid that particular day ($80-ish) could go towards the puppy plan as this original visit could be placed under the 5 free visits. With that option in mind we concluded our phone conversation. A few days later I contacted Mission Ridge to enroll in the program. I spoke with Debra regarding the previous conversation with the vet. Debra stated she did talk to the Vet and there must have been a “miscommunication” as they are unable to do that despite that is EXACTLY what I was told, otherwise I would have just enrolled right then on the phone. Needless to say, due to a “miscommunication” I am now out $80 and still have to enroll in the puppy care plan at full price even though there was an understanding that if I decided to enroll the original $80 would be taken of the puppy care program and the original appointment would be put under 1 of the 5 free visits. I am not one to write reviews, especially negative ones. I am honestly not overly concerned about the loss of $80, I am more concerned that I was told something and with that understanding in mind I was later told something different. It’s not the money, it’s more the integrity of being told something and having it changed by Mission Ridge. It’s what I was told and what was agreed on, own-up to your mistakes. Feb 10th may be my last visit to Mission Ridge unless they can own their mistake.

My family has been bringing our pets here for the last 20 years or so, and I would never consider going anywhere else unless I moved away. Even living in Edmonton, we happily make the drive over to see this spectacular and trustworthy staff. Sometimes accidents happen and pets get old. I've been to other clinics with friends and significant others before only to find pushy and cold staff members. At Mission Ridge, I always feel calmer in those tough situations knowing their vets are caring for my fuzzy friends. And the admin staff and vet techs have always been unwaveringly sweet to me, going above and beyond. With my new puppy, we stop in just to visit sometimes! And recently after having landed a jump wrong and hurting her leg, we were accommodated that very morning just a half an hour after calling. I'm always initially wary of purchasing medical plans. But with my puppy who I got knowing she came with some issues, I felt confident in trusting the vet assistant who went over the plan in detail with me. I didn't feel pressured or like it wouldn't be worth it. (It definitely already has been!) We love our vet clinic and appreciate all of the lovely people who have taken care of us!

Dr. takacs is fantastic! Very knowledgeable and friendly. Great with my dog django. He is a chinese shar pei which generally come riddled with health issues! But thanks to her guidance weve been able to maintain his allergys and she helped save his eye sight! He was only 3 months old and i brought him in with a rash and puss swollen eye due to breeder negligence. Dr. Takacs was honest and upfront regarding his care and maintanence and referred him to a opthomolagist for dogs! Thanks to her due diligance we where able to get him fixed up and now i am able to continue his ongoing treatment plan for his allergys, ears and eyes. Very satisfied and happy with the staff and care we receive.

Mission ridge is the best vet I’ve been to. Staff is incredibly friendly, they give you every option possible for your pet, their insurance plan is extremely helpful I think they even can have payment plans. My dog even loves them (even when they cut his nails haha). Their location is super convenient and they are as accommodating as they can be. They answer all your questions even if you call them a few times because you have a complicated animal! I also buy my dogs food from them and it’s great quality. I’ve always felt safe taking my animals there and leaving them in their care when need be. I will recommend again and again.

I've taken my cats and dogs to Mission Ridge since I moved to St.. Albert more han 30 yearaago and would never consider changing. They've helped my pets with everything from first and then lifetime vaccinations to spaying/ neutering to minor injuries to horrific injuries to sental surgery to euthanasia. The veterinarians, the techs and the office staff are unfailingly kind and compassionate with both the animals and the owners. It is crystal clear that they truly love animals and love caring for them

I’ve been going to mission ridge with family pets for my entire life. As an adult with my own fur babies now, there’s no place I’d rather take them! Every vet and vet tech has nothing but kindness and compassion for the animals and their families. They’re fair with pricing, and never try to up-sell folks for an unnecessary profit. I wouldn’t trust my babies with anyone else! Dr Takacs is a rockstar, and she is unbelievable at always following up and checking in to make sure the patients are healing as fast as possible, as comfortably as possible- which is so great for putting owners’ minds at ease along the way!

We have been using the Mission Ridge Hospital for nearly 15 years. They have helped us ease the pain of our pets while always understanding how the pet's pain is also that of the family. Their holistic approach to care is reassuring and most appreciated. The skill of the vets and the staff is only exemplified by the gentle and reassuring way they treat their patients. We also find we love buying our treats for our 2 puppies there. It is nice to see high quality products at prices equal to or lower than what we pay at the local pet stores. I can't speak enough about the compassion and flexibility of the staff and mission ridge animal hospital. My pup had been in declining health over the last year and they not only set expectations with me for what we could expect for my pups health but help me with a plan moving forward so that we knew when it was time to come back. Today was that day. As we didn't know until the last minute when my pup needed that last bit of help we couldn't book ahead obviously. The staff sensed that something was desperately wrong and made room in their busy schedule to help my puppy. I will be forever thankful for the sensitivity and professionalism of which they dealt with our furry family member in his last moments. Our Corgi, who is a reluctant dog, at times, had his shots the other day at Mission Ridge Animal Hospital. A family member noted that the shots went very well at Mission Ridge and the dog was calm because the vet was very skilled. This family member had taken this pet to different vet office previously, and it was a traumatic experience. We had Mission Ridge vet with our last dog, an American Eskimo, who lived for about 12 years, so we have had a long association with Mission Ridge Animal Hospital. (Our original vet was Dr. Finell. He moved his practice to Mission Ridge Animal Hospital when he decided to semi-retire). We recommend Mission Ridge Animal Hospital.

The care all our dogs have received over the years is second to none. Dr. Katharine helped us through one of our dog's illness and passing last year with the greatest compassion and care. Dr. Wilson is great with our dogs too as are all the staff. They care enough to call us often to check on everyone. The front office staff are great getting us same day appointments. We have never ever felt we were being sold unnecessary treatment and wouldn't think of going anywhere else.

Good staff, reasonable prices. I've brought two of my kitties here and have had nothing but positive experiences, even when it was discovered one of my kitties was diabetic, and the other one was suffering from an ear infection brought on by a ruptured ear drum caused by another clinic. They showed us how to administer the medication, including the injections, and reassured us on the care of our kitties. Thank you so much. Oh, and Gunther is adorable.

I am thanking the staff on behalf of the two small and cutest cats that I found on Nov 18/19 who were left alone on the concrete in the back of a large store in northern St. Albert I picked them up put them in my car and drove home/once home I was not sure what to do so I called Mission & was told to bring them in and they would do whatever needed to be done. They checked for an ID chip etc to identify them there was nothing. They decided to keep them in an examining room for me. They put an ad on facebook to find owners /no replies so far. They have decided that they will do all medical procedures required to get them well and ready for adoption. The staff was so loving and kind to these cats I could not believe all the steps they went through with not once asking for money I will be donating to their emergency fund designed for situations like this. These cats have been looked after because of their kindness and so much love They did not have to do all this but did because of their love for all animals including these two 6 month old kittens left for someone else to look after on the cold concrete they could not even leave them in a box with a little blanket SHAME ON THEM and a note as to why????? i will never forget this Alice Alice

We have been with Mission Ridge for approx two years and we wish we had been with them forever! All the staff are friendly, professional and welcoming. Dr. Katherine Takacs is our primary care provider and she is the most compassionate, thorough and brilliant woman. She always goes above and beyond....following up after hours and from home. Coming into hospital at unscheduled times for continuity of care! Amazing!. Since moving care over to Mission Ridge both of our boys have gone through some acute health issues/changes and I felt so supported. Dr.Katherine and the staff always provide me with all information, and allow me to feel well informed and confident to make the decisions.... from the many choices we are given each time. They genuinely care about their patients and their families. They work as an incredible team and you can feel that when visiting. I couldn't have asked for better care and support for my pups and myself. I highly recommend them to anyone and everyone!!

I take my two dogs (Min Pin's) there and have been for the last 5 years. Both my dogs are genuinely looked after every time I go and no matter which Vet we have had, they are looked after much like Children would be at a pediatrician's. It's a clean, well kept vet. I enjoy my visits there everytime. The front reception and the Vet Tech's are awesome as well. They are always on top of things and patient with my dogs as well. With my oldest, when we first got him he was quite aggressive with other dogs and I would just have to call ahead and they would have a room ready as soon as I got there to slip him right in with minimal interaction. He is very weary of people as well but has never had a problem with any of the employee's there. My littlest was a rescue and can be quite vocal but he seems to love everyone there as well. I highly recommend this vet to anyone.

I took my dog to multiple vets for her skin condition before I called mission ridge. From the first appointment they have been amazing. My dog was attacked by another dog and since then has not liked other dogs, so every time I've gone there they make sure the waiting room is clear and get us in a room ASAP so my pup wont get stressed. But the best part about the visit is my dogs skin has cleared up, and I'm still getting calls just to check up. Amazing staff! Thank you so much to everyone on staff here!!

I took my 6 month old puppy to this clinic after I read the reviews I found.She needed her spay done. Dr. Lori Skrypneck ended up seeing my pup and spent 45 minutes with us, examining Zoey and answering all my questions. There was no rush. Very gentle and pleasant. After that the staff at the desk went over the charges for the upcoming surgery and Zoey was booked. There was no charge that day for the visit! This was the pre-op check. Zoeys surgery went well. I dropped her off and a few hours later got a phone call stating that the surgery went well and hat Zoey was fine. I did not expect that phone call. I picked up Zoey at the end of the day and was given all the instructions and medications to give to Zoey. I was very happy with my whole experience. I have decided that I will drive all the way from the south side of Edmonton to St. Albert to see Dr Skrypnek, for all future dog visits. I strongly recommend that this is a clinic worth any drive for.. All around a 20 out of 10.

The vet and the staff were attentive, kind, and interested in the health of our pet. They followed up even after he was referred to another facility for very invasive surgery. They have continued to follow up as part of the recovery care. The information provided to us was informative and made decision making much easier. I have been taking my miniature dachshund to Mission Ridge since she was 8 weeks old. She is now 8 years old and over the last 8 years we have experienced nothing but the best service from the Mission Ridge Animal Hospital team. Mission Ridge is full of knowledgable people. Our dog (a real lemon) has had numerous visits to the clinic including a major surgery to remove a cancerous lump. Dr Lori treated our dog as if he was her own and he is cancer free thanks to her quick diagnosis and surgical removal of the lump. You can't even see a scar! We live about 35 minutes away from Mission Ridge and will continue to bring our pets to this amazing clinic.

I took my anxious Senior cat there for a check up recently and the staff, techs and Dr. Woods were very good with him. Very thorough exam, great bedside manner, I felt he was very cared about and not treated like a number, didn’t feel rushed at all. I did have to switch my other Senior cat to another clinic as they were unable to fit him in and he was having some issues that needed to be dealt with right away, I did call first thing in morning, the receptionist did try her best to make it happen, put me on hold to ask, unfortunately they were at capacity and she did refer me to another vet office near by and was taken care of.

The presentation is geared towards students and they have many cool examples and activities. Debra and Quinn were great with my students and having Hector the dog visit was a highlight of their week. I'm reviewing on behalf of my parents who are about to lose their dog of 16 yrs. They came home to her hardly breathing laying on her side. It's very obvious the end is near. They contact Mission Ridge animal HOSPITAL, the vet they have bringing this dog to her entire life. Not to mention 3 other dogs and a chameleon over the years. They contact them to arrange to have poor simba put down. It's her time. They were told they cannot "fit them in" and to wait until tomorrow. Excuse me? They tell the lady their dog needs to be put down and their suggestion was wait until the next day (simba clearly won't make it that long leaving my parents with a dead family member to deal with) or sit in the waiting room in hopes of a spot opening. What happens if no spot opened?? I was disgusted to hear of the insensitivity displayed by the lady on the phone. If you are a HOSPITAL then you should allow for emergency services. If you cannot offer those services then offer a solution. Instead of suggesting your long time client sits at home or in their waiting room with their dying dog, maybe suggest another HOSPITAL (a real one) that can assist this very sad family in sending their dog to heaven peacefully. The service at this vet clinic has gone downhill over the years (as I too have 2 dogs and used to be a client there). But this situation disgusts me and I am livid that they put my parents through that considering the reason they were calling. Needless to say my parents will not be bringing their surviving dog there anymore. I have already found a new vet as I saw the decline in service. I advise this establishment to remove the HOSPITAL from their name as they are not a hospital at all. And maybe sensitivity training for their staff because the handling of this situation was completely inappropriate.

Mission Ridge Animal Hospital in St. Albert is truly a great place - my boys have been going there for years. They've dealt with this Covid thing without missing a beat and the level of care is still second to none while maintaining all the safety measures needed right now. I bring my two kittens to Mission Ridge Animal Hospital and all my visits have been nothing shy of fantastic. After every appointment I always get a phone call from the vet giving details of their health and addressing any concerns I may have. They are always super accommodating and can make appointments work for our busy schedule. Our first kitty turned out to be a bit more sassy than we had anticipated but after a phone call with Dr Takacs she gave us great advice and practical suggestions on how to handle her behaviours and we are very thankful we called! When we moved a little further out of town we knew the extra commute was very worth the time to know our pets are so well taken care of.

Horrible treatment and even after two exams the vet missed finding that there was a string cutting into my cats tongue the whole time and because of the expensive guessing treatment that I couldn't afford, she recommended putting my cat down..I found another vet that knew what he was doing soon as he examined him..my cat is healthy again..worse place I have ever been to..

They have always been able to accommodate my pets needs and try to do it as economically as possible. I have 2 of my pets enrolled in their Optimum program and it has been well worth it.
