Dr. Christel Stanton was on call this weekend when I was visiting family. My miniture daschund had an unknown allergic reaction and I had called the emergency number. From being out of town I was worried I wouldn't be able to see anyone. Dr. Stanton was amazing. She was very gentle and professional with my dog. I would 100% recommend her to anyone in the area. She truly cares about the animals. Truly amazing. Thank you.

This clinic is by far the worst. My cat is dying on my bathroom floor because they couldnt take him in for medicine when he was sick. Now hes dying trying to breath and trying to find a place that will be open on a weekend that can put him down humanly and as delicate as possible and they just dont have the time. I dont know what to do. I cant go anywhere else.

The vet was amazing when we brought our little girl in (rat). They took special care and were knowledgeable about about exotic animals. They were able to give us exceptional demonstrations/ know how for the after care our fur baby. Kudos to the great clinic and atmosphere. 10 stars if I could

They take advantage of the customers with outrageous pricing, and slide in unnecessary fee's for every little procedure and they can because the other vets in the area have full client lists due to their better prices. The work they do is of good quality and they've been kind and courteous in my dealings with them hence the 2 stars. A few examples of pricing difference #1 spaying Cat quoted by WKAH over 300$ took her to Colville and it cost 70$ US #2 Neutered our dog Bruno (Big breed) quoted by WKAH over 500$ took him to Colville and it was around 250$ US and they gave him a micro chip too. #3 our little dog Pickle was quoted to have some teeth extracted and a cleaning was quoted by WKAH over 1000$ went to Colville and it was 300$.

Called on Boxing Day as cat was ill with an infection. Was told - in a combative way - that the emergency service was only for clients (which actually shoos away potential new clients). Vet also did not really want to help, and I get it - it was a holiday and I could hear a child crying in the background - but if so, why be on call at all?

This is hard to say......???? we brought our puppy in one day due to a head injury. We lived 1 hr away and no vet close even considered helping unless we were clients. So the lovely people at west Kooanay animal hospital never even questioned it! So in we drove with our puppy in my wife's arms fearing for the worst. We dropped her off for a few days and were told they would do what they can and help Sadie(our puppy). Each day when Dr. Park took care of Sadie she was very kind and called us to her condition. We were still hopeful. Sunday came and we made arrangements to look at Sadie and decide what the next steps were. Dr. Park was AMAZING! she had the kindest heart and never made us feel like she was telling us what direction to go. So like a couple of animal lovers we are. We decided to take Sadie home and give her our love for a few weeks and see how she progresses. It's been a hard week now and she is slowly getting better. Thanks to the staff here we still have Sadie in our home. We could not have done it without you. Thank you! Love the Braun family

Have been taking my dogs and cats to WKAH for years and they are truly amazing. I have taken my pets for everything from their first shots, surgeries, to saying goodbye and the staff are exceptional. I love how thorough the vet, reception, and technicians are when explaining information and answering questions. I couldn't imagine bringing my pets anywhere else!

Cash grab!! My dog has routine yeast infections in her ears and has since she was a puppy. It's always the same medication that she get prescribed. West Kootenay refuses to reissue the medication without a costly full exam each time. This adds well over $90 for the exam fee, plus $30 for an ear swab and another $30 for a one minute ear cleaning to the bill just for them to say, "Oh, yeah! Looks like another ear infection." No way, do you think?!?! If you love getting ripped off, you should visit this place.
