I have been before and it's a random chance if you get a tech who is somewhat kind. I've always shrugged it off because experiences have been mostly good. My last visit was for an ultrasound for pregnancy. The tech was nice, but I wasn't allowed to see the screen during the exam, wasn't allowed to see anything after the exam was completed, allowed to get a photo, etc. There was also a heartbeat that we were not told about and definitely not allowed to see/hear. Because we don't know if this pregnancy will make it, when I found out later that there was a heartbeat that I wasn't told about or allowed to see/hear, I was devastated and broke down on the drive home. Is this normal? All we received was the date of the fetus. I'm heartbroken that I may never have gotten to see this pregnancy. You can't get those moments back.
Arrived 15 minutes before my scheduled time as instructed. Waited in the seating area for 50 minutes before being called and led to the ultrasound room. The technician was clinical and professional. After the imaging I was instructed to wait on the property while the image quality was confirmed by a manager. I dressed and wandered to the waiting room where I sat for more than 20 minutes before being questioned why I was seated and if I was waiting in the queue. The tech had finished and left for the afternoon without finding me to dismiss me. Poor security and patient care.
It's a very efficient facility. Our family has used it for many years. The doctors have discovered and helped with my health problems and I am very grateful. It does need a new wheel chair lift on the north side, as it's really noisy and scary going down.
Greay place. Was in and out in under 30 minutes on two separate occasions
I've never really had a bad experience here. I understand the ladies at the front are busy so they may not be all smiles and strike up a conversation but they are effective in doing their jobs. I do believe the booking process could be a bit more simplified. I heard the bit of difficulty even my Dr's office had booking my appt. I do have to acknowledge the young lady at the door asking the COVID questions this morning... super nice! Thank you all for what you do. I appreciate it.
I was scheduled for a MRI and everything went smoothly and quickly! I was called in not even 5 minutes after my appointment time! The technician in the MRI room was really nice and friendly. Would not hesitate to book again and do the drive from Calgary.
Ok. Wonder why they want you an hour b4? For non gastro related imaging... Fairly fast & in & out.
Came at 4 pm on Wednesday, no line, took me 3 min to do knee X-ray. Stuff is friendly
I went there on a Monday morning within the posted hours, only to find all doors locked and nobody inside. No signs posted, and no message on the phone to give anyone a clue as to what is going on. I also watched a number of patients come and go, greatly inconvenienced like myself. Obviously this establishment cares very little for its patients. This business is designed to monopolize all the referrals from local clinics. My advice: use the hospital, they have all their own imaging services.
Went in for a dating ultrasound and it was my first time going here. Immediately when they took me back they told me my husband could not come, which I found odd but I asked "oh well will he get to see atleast?" And I was told yes. They bring me into the room and did the whole ultrasound on me, I got to see my baby....alone. So basically I was sitting there crying of joy and my husband did not get to be apart of that. She told me I could go grab him and I thought maybe she would do another one so he could see, nope. He only got to see pictures that's it. A beautiful special moment got ripped away from me, and the whole experience was disappointing and uncomfortable. I'm not looking forward to going back for my next appointments.
My family doctor referred me for both a ultrasound and mammogram due to having a breast lump that seemed to cause enough concern for her to have me referred. I have to say booking into them was awful specially if your like me and not glued to your phone 24/7 its mostly consists of phone tag as there is only a answering machine service due to them being so busy once i did finally get a appointment which the same week that i was thankful for as i thought there would be a long await ahead for me. Nothing was said to me on the phone other than not to wear deodorant and to arrive 15 minutes prior. The day of my appointment i ended up waiting over a hour past my scheduled appointment then once in the ultrasound room the tech then begins to tell me due to my age (being 27) i wont be having my monogram as they usually do not screen anyone under 30 then she also had said they do not offer whole breast ultrasound which again is what my doctor had referred me for however there did do localized areas. I had the ultrasound of my general area during which the tech was more than apparent frustrated as i was not able to pin point the exact spot apart from that her constant sighing was also a reminder. Now to put a long story short my test did indeed turned out to have a lump which both myself and doctor knew was there now i have to wait to get in with her this week just to be likely referred again for a monogram/ultrasound to find out what it is all over again i can say this for sure i will not be referred back to red deer office in a already stressful enough situation you look for reassurance not to be made to feel as though your wasting there time.
Amazing staff!!! I come here quite frequently and they've always made me feel welcome.
Inside Staff are efficient and friendly. Sidewalks were totally snow covered until 7:55 when a person with a blower somewhat cleaned them up, leaving them slippery? It was hazardous to access premises
If you can book somewhere else I highly suggest doing so. These people are extremely rude and feel intitalled to make any comment they want. There is no shortage of people coming out of school for this job position, but I promise they hired the rippest ones. I am high risk and I have had about 6 ultrasounds now (3rd pregnancy and have been here for all three) and not once has it been a good experience start to finish in the last eight months. Thankfully though yesterday I had a wonderful tech who made a change and was able to apologize for the company up front. I have been yelled at and left crying from a tech because I asked a question. I was given a lecture from front staff because my wallet was stolen, and I should have it figured out right away. I got attitude from staff trying to book appointments based when my doctor wants them but can also accommodate MY life. I do this job as well, and I noticed another comment saying something along the lines of 'sometimes we don't know what's going on and they have a hard life and it shows in their demeanor". You put it to the side and do your job, and as an owner/manager you don't make an excuse for your staff nonstop belittling someone. We are all trained for that. If you can't put feelings and personal life to the side you're doing the wrong job. Excuses shouldn't be made for horrible staff. Some people are going in there to hear they had a miscarriage, to confirm a still born or genetic issues, lumps for cancer ect. Why should we have to deal with bad attitude and rude comments? It's hard enough. Staff needs to do better at the end of the day. We are all going through something but it isn't someone else's fault nor an excuse to take out on others. Do better, be better.
It is an absolute nightmare calling to book appointments and the automated system is a joke. I waited 5 days for them to call about a requisition that was faxed to them for my daughter, then I had to call and make the appointment myself.
I always find the people here gruff. Today I went and for the first time had a super nice lady at the front take my info. My tech, again, gruff. I always say if you don't like people, find a new profession. I get not everyone is a peach, but not everyone is the same.
I use CAMIS in Red Deer as a medical professional and as a patient. Yesterday I used it as a patient to have a pain management procedure with Dr. Mann. The fluoroscopy technicians were very friendly and professional and made the whole process quick and efficient. Dr. Mann was funny and took great pride in keeping everything sterile and as pain free as possible. Overall as a patient and medical professional I give CAMIS a big thumbs up. ????????
I had to take my father in who is a senior. He had a gentlemen do his ultra on him. When he came out he was already bruising because he pushed so hard on him he was in pain for two weeks. Wont be taking him back there again . It has made trying to get him to and appointments very hard
I Have always been,Treated Fairly by All Staff. Makes me feel Comfortable, when having all My Procedures Here.
I had bone density scan done yesterday- I went to check in at front desk- Even though The receptionist was friendly & cheerful - I couldn’t understand what she was asking(Covid questions)She had to repeat them several times-was a bit frustrating-her English wasn’t very good. She directed me to where I needed to wait—I sat down in the chair—BUT the chairs have arms on them, and me being a bigger lady, had to squish in the chair. I was very uncomfortable—After a few minutes it was my turn and I was pleasantly surprised that I didn’t have to wait too long. The tech had to inject me with dye for my test-I told her of my fear of needles-she was sympathetic, and assured me that it wouldn’t be painful—however, I used my phone as a side track— & before you know it,she was done!!! That’s the first time in my life-I never felt the needle!! She made my experience so calming & relaxed-and I am so thankful for that !!! The only negative comment I have is —-please change the chairs in the waiting area to accommodate bigger people thank you.
Rude and unbelievable disrepectful
Hello, we went to the new location next to collicutt. We were required to wear masks and wash hands twice while there ( completely understand). Was curious as to why no temperature checks? Anyway I hope the lady at the front desks day gets better. She seemed to be upset.
Super kind and friendly, made the procedure an almost pleasant experience.
My wife and I will never use this place again. My wife had an imaging request from a doctor saying she needs both her knees x rayed while standing. We had come once before but were not able to do the x ray but they said they were only going to x ray one knee so this time i made sure i told the receptionist both knees need to be x rayed and showed her where it said that on the form. When my wife got called in the tech said she was only going to x ray one knee. My wife told her she needs both done but the tech refused and was very rude. Absolutely ridiculous. You are not a doctor , you are a tech. Do the imaging that the doctor ordered. Plain and simple.
I see there are many reviews about the professionalism and overall pleasantries of the staff at this location. I’m giving a five star rating today because although I’ve had a few less than desirable experiences in the past, today was a vastly different experience for me. My technician Rhonda and Dr. Venu are absolutely exceptional in their bedside manner. They were thoroughly invested in ensuring I was comfortable, informed, and well taken care of. I’ve had the same family doctor for 26 years and I felt just as comfortable with Dr. Venu and Rhonda today as I do with my own family physician. This all said, I truly feel that if every staff employed were to emulate and mirror the professionalism and care I received today from Dr. Venu and Rhonda, they could very swiftly and quite easily raise their Google Rating. Anyone visiting CAMIS is typically visiting under some sort of stress in the first place with requisition in hand. Care, compassion, and informed professional bedside manner are so very (very) important. Thank you for taking great care of me today.
I always go by my own experiences considering everyone is different, but I had no issues. I went in for a bone scan and they've got me in very quickly. Considering the stringent COVID measures that are needed, the staff were helpful and were still able to get me though. I thank you greatly for that!
awful. I will never get an ultrasound there again. They have hired the coldest rudest people for employees.
I had an amazing experience and first time baby ultrasound today! My technician was so considerate, friendly, and kind, and had made me feel comfortable by explaining the routine. I had read reviews prior coming here and was terrified of having a bad experience, but there was nothing to worry about. Thank you, thank you thank you!
This is my second bad experience here. I had trouble with the wheelchair lift, I informed the staff that I had to wheel her down the stairs because I couldn't figure out the lift. No one seemed to care or want to show me what I was doing wrong. Both experiences staff were cold and rude. Pretty disappointing considering my 5 year is already super nervous. Will not come back
Today I had a great experience booking a mammogram for myself when speaking with Vanessa. She was friendly and helpful in picking a date that would work for me!
I cannot say enough good things about all the staff and doctors I interacted with the last two days. What was a very scary and stressful time was made enjoyable, easy, understandable and friendly. Everyone from the greeter at the door to front desk staff to all the wonderful nurses and technicians made this whole process so easy and relieving. My first experience started with booking and was so quick and simple. My last was with a biopsy and everyone involved was funny and took any stress and worry I had completely away. Thank You Thank You Thank You. Any of my friends or family who ever require imaging or testing will be recommended to your office. I have let my family doctor know this is the place to refer patients to and how blessed I am that I was sent there
Impressed with mammogram appt today lineup went quick and efficiently managed . Pam was wonderful these tests aren’t fun but she was kind gentle excellent personality .Front desk also friendly and very knowledgeable when I had more questions regarding bone scans . Thankyou for a great experience . ????????????
Under wrong name^ I had a kidney altra sound on Thursday and back on Monday for Mammogram. For the ultra sound she did her job and i was out of there. For the Mammogram i was there early and got out early. She was chatty and made the experience less awkward. It was a bit of a pinch but that is to be expected. I have had many tests done there and have never had any problems.
Wait was reasonable tech was awesome
We travel 1.5 hours for prenatal ultrasounds to come here instead of the 30mins to the place closest to us due to great experiences with the ultrasound techs in Red Deer, they have all been lovely!
Absolutely rude and unhelpful on the phone while booking. Astonished at the way I’ve been treated and laughed at.
I'm giving 3 stars because the last time I had my ultrasound I had to wait 2 hours and this time I was in and out and had friendly service
Been on hold for an hour and a half to see if I can reschedule an appointment... This is beyond ridiculous to wait that long for a 1 minute conversation.
I had my 20 week ultrasound today & I left so incredibly upset not the way I thought it would go at all. I had a girl training and she was fantastic, asked me if I wanted to know the gender, I said yes but secretly in a envelope please. The lady who was training her came into the room and blurted on the gender. When my mom told her I didn't want to know because I automatically got very upset she said, "Well what am I suppose to do now?"' My mom said she thinks she should owe me a apology. It was the worst, non sincere apology and just basically said whats done is done. For having to get told to apologize about a big thing like that blows my mind. It defiantly ruined a very special, memorable part of my first pregnancy that I didn't get to share with the dad and others. I understand stuff happens but she did not take the right step after her actions.
Appointment turn around was quick considering the current situation Front line staff helpful and professional. Technician. Curt, off hand, unfriendly, I was only in for a suspected torn rotator cuff tear, the way the technician spoke and her demeanor towards me was as if I had disturbed her break, and she was doing me a favour in doing the ultrasound and wanted out of the room. I have never written a review before on such a service and its sad it has to be negative. Had an x-ray a few weeks before on same shoulder, technician couldn't have been better.
Terrible management. Made an appointment that their booking staff forgot to enter into their books. Come the time for my appointment I am told that my appointment was never booked. Then they go on to try and place blame on me saying I booked 2 days to early. WHAT A JOKE. 2 days to early for an ultrasound? When my conception date isn’t exact. Excuse after excuse was being fed to me. I am currently sitting here to see if they can “accommodate” me for their mistake. I left work early and have a gender reveal shoot booked this weekend. Management was absolutely rude and seemed to want conflict. Very cold and definitely not made for customer service. Management needs to be reconsidered.
Not very well organized. They only completed part of the procedure. Was told that a different tech needed to do second ultrasound. I had to phone back to get it booked only to find out my initial ultrasound was not on file. So had to start over.... does not leave a very good feeling that you are being looked after well.
The reception, MRI Technologist, and physician were all great and I did receive good care. However I did not feel safe. Two patient identifiers were not confirmed by the receptionist, MRI Technologist, or physician. Being asked at the reception for my health number and if I live on Wishart Street is not two patient identifiers. I appreciated the MRI Technologist taking the time to prepare me for the procedure but just because I followed him from the waiting room is not identity confirmation. I appreciated the physician introducing himself but he did not confirm my identity or the procedure. To say, ‘hi Brian I’m doctor so and so’, is not a safe practice. I lead my identify confirmation with the MRI Technologist to confirm the sample labels were mine. I also lead the safe surgery briefing confirmation with the physician by asking him what we were doing today. It’s just a matter of time that these unsafe practices will lead to a wrong patient or wrong procedure incident to occur. I’m pretty certain that CAMIS accreditation standards include two patient identifiers at each contact point and safe surgery checklist briefing pre-procedure.
I recently had a mammogram done. I am deeply disturbed by the way women are herded through there like cattle. The exam was unbearable brisk and painful and the technician had little concern for my comfort. I am still experiencing pain and burning a week later which I did not have before of course. I will likely never get another mammogram as the results apparently give no better chance of surviving breast cancer than not ever having a mammogram. Why are we doing this to ourselves. It feels like big business in there not healthcare.
Went for x-rays on both hands. Forgot my req. Was texting my daughter to ask her to bring it. One of the staff came out and said she would have my dr fax it. The staff here are awesome. I would give 30 stars if I could
I came in for a chest X-ray ordered by a nurse practitioner through the GI Clinic located at the Foothills medical centre in Calgary. The lady that worked at the front desk seemed quite annoyed that it was ordered by a nurse practitioner and then was very annoyed when she realized there wasn’t a fax number supplied and the requisition wasn’t signed. An oversight that was easily and instantly fixed after a phone call to the GI clinic by myself to get a new requisition faxed to CAMIS. I thought it was unfortunate that the CAMIS employee was not only annoyed seemingly at me but also felt the need to lecture me on the necessity of the form to be completed correctly.
Have to wait forever just to get a phone call to to make an appointment and then wait for month's to get the procedure done absolutely terrible.
Great place, only thing bad about it is keeping the booking ladies. They are all rude and unprofessional.
I have been to Camis twice and now and found the personnel their very professional and cordial I would not hesitate to use there services at all.
I have been to this facility several times and found the staff to be pleasant and efficient.
thank you for following up and as we discussed i have removed this .
They were great with me. I was so. Ervous and they made me very comfortable and calm. Great place!
Super helpful, Super friendly, They Actually Care About Clients.
Please try to avoid scheduling any test at this place. I live in Calgary and drove to Red Deer for a MRI test. I had appointment with my surgeon two weeks after the test. My results were not read and posted in the system till the day of my appointment. I called two days in a row requesting Radiologist and office manager regarding the results but in vain. I finally had to postpone my appointment with the surgeon.
Very friendly staff.
Professional and well run. I was treated with respect and the staff was very kind and efficient.
Joyless, soul sucking, big business. Their fancy building is a testament to their waste. Want a memorable baby's ultrasound as a couple? Forget it, the guy sits in a waiting room for the procedure until the end. Go to Women's Imaging Center if you have the option.
Not surprised why they got so many bad reviews. employees on the front are very rude and not professional. if we go there because we have a medical condition and you ADD STRESS on top. BE professional and train your people and especially those on the front desk.
I have been waiting on hold for more than 20 mins on whats now 5 separate times trying to get through to book an appt. UPDATE: I got through this last time. Girl on the phone was so quick & very very friendly. Whom ever was working the desk at 2:25 today deserves a good job.
This place has just outright terrible service constantly playing phone tag with thier booking department also took weeks just to get a phone call after having my requisition faxed several times. Booooooooooooooo
Nov 6/19..I had a Barbotage treatment at the new CAMIS on 30th ST...I have to say the staff there are excellent. The one in the treatment room with me was so kind ,considerate and compassionate, (don't know her name). You can check your appointments for today...I had a 2:15 appointment, and I just want to compliment the lovely lady who assisted the Doctor who was also exceptionally good at trying not to cause me any more pain...great job done by both of them....
Good service and friendly staff thanks for helping me
I live 40 km from Red Deer and phoned to make an appointment for a bone scan. I was told i couldn't book over the phone but would have to bring my requisition to the office. So today i went to the office and was shuffled onto a booking person who said she could not book me either because the bookings for bone scans are made from Sylvan lake but she would fax the requisition to Sylvan lake and if I have not heard by mid next week i should phone a number in the Sylvan Lake. I guess the management have not ever heard of service to the client as there was no consideration of faxing the requisition to Sylvan and getting on the phone to make an appointment for me. And I guess no one ever heard of a computer booking system whereby a calendar show up in Red Deer on the computer and the booking person sees the appropriate staff calendar and does a booking to facilitate service to clients. I guess efficiency is not part of this privately owner imaging business. Incidentally after waiting back at home for a couple of hours no courtesy from sylvan lake either with no call and no appointment set up. This is unquestionably one of the poorest run systems in the province.
