Very good people with very tough job
If I could rate lower I would!!! SERIOUSLY SCAMMED!!!!! Stopped going to this clinic because I had taken my dog in (kept losing weight at a fast rate and had a very noticeable lump in his abdomen)they kept my dog overnight for a few nights. They supposedly ran many tests, did ultrasounds and x-rays. Did not come up with anything! After dishing out almost $5000 my dog died about 2 weeks later. Was then told he had passed away from stomach cancer. How was this large mass never picked up on the first x-ray and ultrasound! Could have not only saved me ALOT of money but also would have youthenized my dog instead of letting him suffer in pain for the next 2 weeks! Will NEVER take another animal there again and I let everyone I know with pets not to either.
Great Experience! Staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and informative! Good pricing too! Definitely Recommend! :)
I went in with my almost 1 year old female cat, She has started to meow in pain when she pee'd . I told the vet this and she all of a sudden jumped to " Bladder stones". she told me I needed a x ray and urine sample done, as I did not know much, I trusted the vet. She did the xray first then a urine sample. I then later found out that she should of done the urnine sample first! My cat had a urine tract infection, there was NO reason for a xray! I also found out that my cat was not the type ( under 5 years old and a female) to get bladder stones! I was hooped out of $250 bucks because the vet did not know what she was doing ( or scammed me out of $250)! I was not impressed and would not suggest anyone take there animal to this vet! OH! and I had to go back for 10 more pills for my cat because all I received was 10 pills, for a bottle that said twice a day for 10 days! When I went back even the receptionist was like that's bad..two people have to look over this!
I just had to put my dog down here last week and they were ever so nice and caring about the whole situation. Comfortable knowing she went for a peaceful snooze with some amazing people by her side.
Okay so my puppy timone went there 2 weeks ago. He had tested positive for parvo (diagnosed from an ardrie vet) they immediately sent me to a Calgary vet after paying over $500 for the testing. Then the Calgary animal hospital quoted me over $4000 for parvo treatment.. I decided to call red deer animal hospital after the Calgary vet refused to allow me to treat at home and/or a $2000 cash deposit before even seeing my dog. When we got to red deer they were prompt and more than willing to work with me and my budget. They gave my very weak dog I.v for 6 hours ( upon my request) then in the morning sent me home with antibiotics and anti-nasia medication. The price was more then fair. And I left extremely satisfied with my service . And my pooch is doing very well and back to his same old self ! Thanks so much to this amazing vet and all the employees ❤ if I could give 100 starts i would!!
I have been going through a really rough time lately. I had almost died a few months ago with my own health emergency and then I lost my place to live and then I had everything I owned stolen at the place I had moved to and I do mean everything. So needless to say, I'm in a massive financial crisis and then my dog, who is the world to me, gets really, really sick. I showed up at this veterinarian hospital and found out that they don't offer payment plans. I was devastated. I thought my whole world was crashing down on me until they heard my situation and they did everything they could to help me and my dog. They were so kind and understanding and just amazing wonderful people! I would definitely recomend this place to anyone who is in need of an emergency veterinarian!!!
Animal Emergency Hopital and staff: You are amazing! We brought our dog Hank here about a month and a half ago as something was terribly wrong with him and our regular vet was closed. We drove to Red Deer from Sylvan with our boy Hank, and he had to have emergency surgery for GDV. The staff were very kind and gave us updates while making sure Hank was taken care of promptly. Leaving him at the vets was super hard, but we were welcomed into the back to say bye to Hank who was already hooked up to his IV, and wish him luck during his surgery. Hank stayed at the vet for two nights (longest 2 nights E V E R) but we felt so comfortable because we knew he was being watched, monitored and was being very well taken care of. We were able to visit him as well which was so awesome and the staff seemed to really enjoy Hank which was a comfort. They did so much to make us feel happy with everything but more importantly, they acted quickly and professionally and saved Hanks life! Thank you just doesn’t cover what they did for my family. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Animal Emergency Hospital to anyone when their furry family members are in need :)
Our pup Bo got into a fight with a porcupine over night and when we tried to get the quills put and 1 broke. No bets were available in our town so we took him to RD Emergency Vet. The ladies there were amazing. Got us in right away and were able to get it out so we could take him home. Thank you again!
Our dog suddenly had very limited use of his back legs and we immediately took him to AES. They were very friendly and so helpful. The vet who helped us checked every inch of him and was very patient and caring. She sent us home with some medications and instructions. Within the next 24 hours he was back to his perky self. I have been warned numerous times about going to an emergency clinic because they are so pricey. For the quality of service that we received and for visiting late on a Saturday night when no other vet would take us until Monday, I would expect the price we paid and was not surprised at all. They also called today asking how he was and if we had any questions. Thank you AES for making worried dog parents feel very reassured.
I just wanted to thank the Dr and the girls for all their kindness shown to us when we had to bring in my sick senior dog. We decided it best to let him cross the rainbow bridge which is never an easy decision. All the staff were kind and empathetic and even today when I went in to bring his ashes home. The girl was very caring. I was given a card with his inked paw prints as well which will be a keepsake. Thank you to everyone at the clinic for all your kindness and compassion.
Services were quick and courteous, very understanding as well given our situation. On-site staff were very quick with bringing us the needed information and options.
Waited 2 hours just for them to tell us they need to do an X-Ray and wouldnt tell us what is going on with our dog. They also kept lying to us saying that we were about to be talked to the doctor while several dogs that came after us went in and out with ease. Also dumped a whole bunch of pills on our bill towards something that wasnt even wrong with her. EDIT. Another hour later and 448 dollars later just for an x ray and to be told that we need to give our dog benadryl. Smfh, I could of asked my little brother for that type of exam. I would give them less than 1 star if i could. They told us that they charges us for $50 worth of medication yet at the end they told us to just use benadryl?
The girls at the front desk were fine. The vet presented herself with a dirty scrub and I was the first visit of her work shift. The room where I was waiting for more than an hour was filthy full of pet hair on the floor and chairs. Very pricy and no compassion at all from the vet who did not leave me with a diagnosis nor a guess according to her studies? Save your penny, bare with your sick dog for a day if it Sunday and go to your regular vet on Monday.
The worst vet clinic I've ever dealt with. They dont care about pets just the money and there prices are some of the highest in the country! I have priced out "calgary and edmonton" for what you guys did"yes it was an emergency" but it was simply highway robbery !!!! I've dealt with alot a vet clinics across western canada and out of them all your pricing, unhelpful staff and unknowledgeable "vets" I would say the worst in western canada! Thanks for having a "payment plans" that sums up alot when I gotta get a loan to help my pet!
We have brought our dog here on 2 separate occasions for emergency injury treatment. Both times all the staff have been extremely friendly and compassionate. Thank you all for the amazing care you have provided to Otis!
If there was a zero star I’d be using that. The worst customer service ever. The vet didn’t even examine my pup. She’s still in pain in her leg. Gave us 3 bottles of pills and scammed us out of 210$ not a great place at all. I’d recommend anywhere but this place. The emergency room at the hospital has better service than this.
They took great care of Chewy and even though Pets Plus Us typically makes you pay up front, they arranged to have direct payment to them.
I was just there last tuesday morning at about 2am. I called ahead of time due to my dog getting into some chocolate cookies. My dog has always had anxiety issues since he was a puppy and will bark at everyone. He had never ever been left with anyone else let alone led away from us by someone other than us. So I was worried about how he would do and act. He seemed a little bit scared when he came back to us but I could tell he had a good time despite the circumstances. They kept me posted on how he was doing while he was there and how he was behaving and i can tell they treated him wonderfully. They greated him and made him feel a little bit more comfortable before they took him in as well and my boy is feeling alot better now. Thank you guys for saving my boy. The other time I came here was with my one girl who's back legs stopped working suddenly. She had to visit a couple times but the last time she went she had passed away and they did everything to help us with planning her cremation and last of life things. They gave us lots of time and got her paw prints for a keepsake for us and even sent a card and a guardian angel pin. Another time I came here we had found a dog and came to see if he had a chip. He did and they offered to let him stay there until the owners picked him up. Everyone I have came across here truly cares about the animals they are saving and helping. So from the bottom of my heart thank you guys ♡
The compassion shown to us by Dr Bruce and the staff was amazing during our hard time. Thank you for helping us.
I had an emergency and I had to put my dog down last minute in the evening on a Sunday. The girls there were fantastic, super kind and efficient. I was in and out in less then an hour and my dog was very comfortable the entire time.
On Fathers Day we had to euthanize a very sick cat. The staff and veterinarian were very kind and made us feel welcome and understood. Gave us time to say goodbye, and time after to get it together. We had our Princess cremated and they called on Friday to let us know we could pick her up. They took the time to do foot prints sand didn’t laugh or make me feel weird when I asked them for clippings of her belly fur. Overall great experience for such a sad time in our lives. Will use them again in the future. On July 24, 2018 we needed the services of The Animal Emergency Hospital again. I wanted to give another review but couldn’t see a way. The staff or I should say “Amy” is so wonderful. Thanks for being so kind in our time of sadness. We truly appreciate your kindness.
Called my regular vet after hours and the call was forwarded to this place. After describing his symptoms, severe trembling unable to walk more than a couple of steps, they told me it sounded like he ate marijuana or antifreeze. Both could be fatal. I drove 45 minutes. With Covid restrictions you wait in your car and they come get your pet based on a "triage" judgement. I left after a two hour wait in the parking lot without my dog being looked at. And for the last 1 3/4 hours no other pets were taken in or were waiting. However a couple of big bags of McDonalds and drinks as well as Timmies and Timbits did go in. My dog was judged less important than a hamburger.
Wonderful place to take your pets. My male cat had a severe urinary blockage on a Sunday night and they fixed him right up! The girls that work here are so incredibly kind and helpful, they kept me in the loop at all times (and were very understanding of my late night concerned cat mom phone calls) Sure, this clinic may be expensive but that's because they are supplying top notch 24/7 care, it's totally worth it in my opinion. I have nothing but great things to say about my experience here. Thank you so much for everything!
This place has the most GENUINE & CARING staff!! They were beyond nice & understanding . I would definitely recommend anyone that has a pet that needs after hour care to make sure and call/go to this Emergency Animal Hospital. Thanks again to all of you there, Jillian, Amy & Shaya. As well as, anyone else there the night Lily & Bella had porcupine quills removed from both of their mouths. Thanks again for a great experience, during a not so great moment???????????? I just wanted to add just how special this place truly is????????this was such an unexpected kind of care and love these girls showed... only further proving there are still wonderful people left in this world. For such a horrific event to have happened, I am ever so grateful for the staff that day! Thanks again, you went above and beyond and it meant so very much to me!!????????????????
Excellent service.very caring staff.up front with pricing and procedures.followed up with progress..saved my kitty tazs life.highly recommend them .staff was very professional and caring.
On Christmas day we brought our cat into this vet as our regular vet was closed for Christmas. Our cat was vomitting for just over 24 hours and wasn't using her litter box. We were concerned so made the decision to bring her in. Upon meeting with the vet on call and discussing what could be the potential issue. We agreed on doing an xray to see if there was a blockage. The x-ray was inconclusive and there wasn't a definte answer if she did or did not have an actual blockage or simply gas. We agreed upon admitting our kitty and putting her on IV to see if the mysterious potential blockage would move. 10 hours later and we are updated that the mysterious blockage hadn't moved. So were were going to keep her there for more IV fluids. And multiple x-rays to watch the blockage. We were then made aware that she may need surgery and my husband was asked for permission to do so if they saw fit. My husband asked the cost and was quoted $3000 on top of our already high bill of over $700 at that time. My husband asked why would they do surgery if they didn't know if it was a blockage or simply gas. He was then told that they could be exploratory surgery to see and that would be $1500. He said they did not have permission to perform surgery on our cat. The next morning my husband spoke to a different vet who let him know the cat was doing well and that surgery wasn't necessary. At this point we just decide to go get the cat and be done with this vet. When he picked her up she had finally used the litter box and seemed fine. $800 + dollars later for an 18 hour vet stay with IV, and x-rays to determine really nothing. I feel like we were an ATM on Christmas and they even tried to get more out of us with the talk of surgery, knowing that the cat meant a lot to our family especially our daughter. I feel that this vet clinic is ridiculously priced and not very good at communicating what is actually happening to your pet for all that money. We typically see either Piper Creek or Ponoka vet and they are far superior for communication, and costs associated with caring for your pet. We won't be going back here for any reason at any time.
My dog is limping with a very sore shoulder from a traumatic crash she had. I’ve been waiting in the waiting room for over 1 hour now and still no vet. Highly do not recommend this place. Horrible service
The team of people here are so compassionate and caring, they understood just how much my sweet thunder (he's my help get me healthy cat of 2 yrs now, I have Crohn's and fibromyalgia) means to me. He is my one constant in a life of recurring illness and divorce, and his daily love and companionship has gotten me through so much since the day I got him. This team of vets and assistants and managers are some of the best in the business and I'm so blessed and grateful for their help and ongoing support. Thunder was going to have to be put down because of a blocked urinary tract as I couldn't afford the $1500-$2000 to fix the issue as I'm a low income person. They did everything within their power to help and make sure that thunder had and has a fighting chance! No words would ever be enough to let them know just how much what they have done for thunder and myself means to both of us. I will always go here as I have absolute trust in them and their ability to be caring and humane, so thank you all from the bottom of my heart I will always be grateful for what you have done to help us. God Bless ☺️
We have a diabetic Rottweiler and she was having seizures. Very scary for us. We have taken her to AES once before for having too high of a blood sugar count. Without their expertise, knowledge and professionalism we would not have our baby alive to this day. They have accommodated us more than once and are very generous, caring people. I highly recommend taking your animals here if you have an emergency AND if you are looking for a vet, they are connected with Cedarwood Vet (literally) so they can grab all of your animals history without having to make after hours calls. We owe you AES, thank you, thank you, thank you!
This company is a disgrace. We woke up in the middle of the night to are dog having a hard time breathing. We called the emergency line and they told us they could see our dog at 6 am. We dropped him off and waited. 11:00 rolled around and we still had not heard anything so we called the vet. They still had not even looked at him. I then discussed with my husband as to what we should do and we decided to call the vet back 30 minutes later and tell him not to look at our dog and that we will take him to our regular vet now what they were open. When we called back they finally got to him and did blood tests. They told us they came back clear and that he is now fine, so we picked him up. Here is the best part. The second we got him to our car we could clearly see he was still struggling to breath. We spend $400 for an emergency vet trip just to be told he was fine when he clearly was not. We then proceeded to take him to our regular vet. We got a call that he was ready to be picked up after only 1.5 hours being there. They did a basic physical exam, came to a conclusion and prescribed him medication. This pet hospital is just a scam to get your money. They don't actually care about your pets. Please don't take your pets here if you don't have to.
Excellent for a late night emergency. Help immediately over the phone. Very knowledgeable. Very happy with this vet. For three doggies now that have a had emergency’s.
Had my darling Yorkie, Himeko, hospitalized for 3 days (a couple months ago) after she ate a tiny candy sweetened with xylitol. Please keep anything with this sweetener away from your pets! Incredibly toxic. The folks here made me feel at ease about my girl's treatment and were very accommodating whenever I called to get an update. I'm also convinced their prices are reasonable. A huge thanks to everyone involved in her care. ❤️????
We suddenly had to take our pooch in on the may long weekend a couple of years ago, unfortunately we had to put her sleep, the Vet and staff were fantastic to deal with at such a difficult time. She was cremated and we received her ashes a couple of days later. I don't understand the bad reviews, I was treated with dignity and respect. It is a difficult thing to do with your pets, but when the time comes you have to know when to let them go peacefully.
This amazing team of superheroes cared for our 1 year old pup after he had sudden, off-the-charts kidney failure. They are the best of the best and their prices are a direct reflection of their huge hearts, phenomenal work ethics, and endless knowledge. Side note: our pup had always been extremely nervous at the vet. He was at emerg for 5 straight days and several of the ladies took precious time out of their hectic day to sit with him, gain his trust, bond with him, and help him overcome his fears. They did not just care for him medically, they cared for him emotionally. They truly went above and beyond for our family. Thanks to their hard work, we were able to spend the last few days at home with our boy before saying goodbye. Words cannot even begin to express my gratitude.
I wish I could give higher then 5 stars!! Our 10 year old dog started having violent seizures and we brought her in here at midnight because she couldn't wait for our regular vet to open the next day. Unfortunately, with her condition, there was nothing that could be done for her. They were so compassionate and helped us through one of the toughest nights of our lives. I'm so grateful we took our fur baby to them and they were there for us when we had to say good bye to her. They were unbelievably accommodating and we will forever be grateful for the care we received there!
My dog got into rat poison and these guys went above and beyond and practically saved her life, told me to bring her in immediately and were very informative of how to administer the vitamin k. Keep up the good work.
Brought in one of my cats for a significant wound on one of his hind legs. Not only did they treat him quickly the vet did a wonderful job of stitching up his leg. I also felt that the pricing was affordable and was reasonable for the amount of repair required as well as for the medications sent home with him. My kitty is afraid of vets and when I picked him up he was quite calm and content and not scared at all. I highly recommend this clinic for any pet emergency.
I would highly recommend finding a different clinic. I have never been so disgusted in my life. Out to make a quick buck and no actual concern for the well being of the animals.
We came to these guys when our dog had a seizure on the weekend, and our regular vet wasn't open. The staff were lovely, kind and caring. Our doggo is older, but the vet made the suggestion of blood work, as her gums were a little "off", despite her physical exam being normal. Her eye resulted in us discovering our poor dog was significantly anemic, and further blood results & ultrasound confirmed she had cancer throughout her body. She was compensating spectacularly well, so we had no idea. I cannot say enough about our experience here, over the several visits in the span of just a few days. The vets (I'm so sorry I can't remember your names, it is a bit of a blur) were informative but not judgmental, gave fair advice and printed us information to take home to read up, and made us feel like this WAS our regular vet and that Bailey was part of their family. In what was a horrible shock and loss for us, the kindness of the vets and staff here made such a difference. Thank you.
This clinic knows how to triage. We have been in before (with another furry friend), where there was a suspected, and later confirmed, broken leg. With the cat, we waited the 2 hours like everyone else who had a subjective “emergency”. On this most recent occasion, our dog had spay complications and this staff went above and beyond to take care of what actually was an emergency. My dog stayed the night, I got a call during surgery just for peace of mind and to review some procedural options/steps they planned to take, and my bill was definitely not outrageous for the service and peace of mind I was offered. Hoping to never be back, but with my luck, probably will be ;)
It's not the first time I've had to use this clinic and I would never take my pets anywhere else in the event of an after hours emergency!! After Lyla's surgery and getting her home at 11pm I phoned a couple of times that night and next the day with some questions about her care. Jennifer was very patient, caring and answered all my concerns. Thank you Jennifer - you're simply the best!!!!
The Amazing Vet, Dr. Jill Sanderson was patient and kind with my dog who needed sedation even for her just to look at her injury. The young lady working the front desk and answering the phones was so personable, competent, and understanding. She was happy to answer any questions I had the next day when I called. It’s staff members like these, who are empathetic and patient, that make stressful and scary visits to the vet more bearable. Great place to take your loved family member !
Going to emergency with your pet is always stressful, the ladies here though made the experience as good as possible. My dog got great care here from everyone. Every staff member was friendly and helpful. I was discharged by a girl whose name started with an E....she was very thorough and helped me understand all the medications I needed to give my dog. Overall I had an excellent experience and will refer my friends and family here.
I had an emergency with my Nine week old kitten the other night, I thought she had broken one of her legs (probably disclosed) at 4:00 am. Drove into Red Deer to have them take a look, due to COVID I never met the vet but we talked on the phone about her, they took good care of her had her back to me quickly and the bill was much better than I expected compared to what I have paid for my other cats vet care in Calgary. Also whoever was working from 4:00-6:00 as the assistant on Sunday May 17, who met me in the parking lot, she was awesome and made me feel that my Kitten was in good hands. Thanks to everyone in that night for taking care of my kitty
Caring and efficient staff in our time of need. Thank you all for your consideration and help to get us through the process as fast as possible. Also thank you for being open 24hrs. Open when families need you the most.
At 5:30am in a morring. They didnt great my dog, she was cold to me and my husband as well. We sat in a room gor over 40minutes with not a sole telling us anything. While hearing them laughing and talking behind the door. We were scared for our dog and the service absolutely sucked.
Very kind an caring people. I would like to thank Dr. Malaguti and staff for the help and kindness in our darkest hour last night. They explained everything very clear and let us spend hours with Fin to say good bye. Again, we are very grateful for that.
Sunday morning I noticed a horrid infection on my old cat Jack. This clinic was open as they promised and when I took him in they figured I would wait a while for the vet...an hour sooner than they anticipated my guy was getting treated by a vet very good with cats(not all are). Dr. Moffett was excellent. The staff were very friendly and kind. The price point was excellent being a 24 hour facility. I am a tough guy but when my kitties are sick I am a wreck. I left there very happy with how things turned out. Thank you
Amazing place & staff. Took fantastic care of our dog Baxter & helped solve our issue with him in minutes. Highly recommended over any vet clinic in Central Alberta
We had to bring our dog for emergency once, great service but VERY EXPENSIVE! be ready to pay
Dr. Bruce was wonderful! We went in and saw her within 15 mins. She treated our little guy gently and we could hear all the staff in the back trying to comfort him while he received his shots. Now he's back to his normal crazo self. Thanks again!
Thanks for taking such good care of Oakley. You folks are the best!!
We were at gull lake for the weekend my dog woke up stumbing around falling down. There was a wait however they did come out to assess him first. They took him inside did their exam then the vet called me spoke with me and sent me home with medication as well as informative reading about his ailment. I would go here again the prices for a Sunday emergency are reasonable.
We recently had to bring our dog Franklin in and the staff was absolutely amazing!! They explained everything in detail and we felt they sincerely cared about the animals there! They deserve more than 5 stars!!
Amazing experience. My dog injured herself. And they were super friendly and professional. And the prices were amazing. Thank you so much for saving our camping trip
This veterinary business is the worst. They don’t care about animals at all. All they want is your money. They should be ashamed what they do to people and animals. They are heartless ????. They killed my cat.
When I called the 24h ER, Tiffany who answered the phone was extremely caring and helpful. My dog had ingested some chocolate and I was a worried mess. Unlike the other hospital I called prior who refused to offer any help over the phone, she immediately alerted the on site vet with the information. The doc even went as far as researching online the specific type of chocolate I mentioned to calculate the exact amount of theobromine ingested. As a fellow health care professional, I really appreciate the compassion and professionalism offered by this facility. Thank you again! - Olivia
We're extremely disappointed in this clinic! Will not take our dog here anymore.
My boyfriend's dog got really sick suddenly a week ago and we had to bring him here. From the very start these ladies were amazing. We were very anxious and concerned, and their knowledge and compassion really helped to ease our worries, while we waited for his treatment. Our dog is somewhat of a jerk, and he was treated like gold here. From the lady on the phone, to the vet, and then the lady who discharged us-- they were all very compassionate, helpful and professional. Our dog is now back to his goofy self and is feeling great after his visit. We so appreciate everyone at this clinic. What a tough job for these awesome ladies!
On behalf of Fin I say thank you for caring for me when i get into a mess with the porcupine. My owner apologizes for being rude. Without a long story, he hopes you can understand hes been struggling with a lot and dealing with vet Bill's on top of everything has been overwhelming. He apologizes and is thankful for your understanding/support caring for me.
We took our cat in at the middle of the night, he was rushed in and had the most excellent of care. Unfortunately his diagnosis was grim. Dr. Reid was calm and understanding and gave us options. So was the attentending staff. We eventually decided to euthanize our cat. Again treated with the at most respect and care. Thank you for taking care of our kitty, to the best of your abilities. And letting me follow up with questions.
Took very good care of our little Maddie. Wish we could have saved her but it wasn't meant to be. Thank you for all you did for Maddie and us. We sure miss her.
I took my 11 week old puppy in today and the staff were very professional, compassionate and caring. The curbside service was well organized. They put my mind at ease and explained everything in detail. Definitely would recommend this emergency service!
Unfortunately I had to rush my dog here after he had a bad seizure while we were camping this past summer (August 2020). The level of compassion the vets and staff showed here was incredible, especially given the fact that we were still dealing with COVID protocols. They were extremely communicative, following up with status updates numerous times throughout the night and providing an anticipated discharge time the next day (since they knew I would be driving from Calgary).
Best animal hospital ive ever been to they took such good care of my boy in a less than exciting fishing experience and even charged accordingly, highly recommended.
Was good service however I do not agree with a recheck fee of you are bringing your pet back to them days after the initial visit for the same issue...
I took my cat in for bad eye trouble around midnight, and all the staff were cheerful, helpful and reassuring. Fantastic place, though I hope I don't have to use them again!
Our little dog Ebony was attacked by two large dogs, and we had to bring her in for emergency care. Sadly we had to put her to sleep, but everyone at the hospital was amazing and so understanding. They sent us a sweet card and included her paw prints and also the decorative feather she had in her hair, it was so very thoughtful and I am so appreciative that they took the time to do so.
Was a hard night for my family as our beloved dog twister was helped to go to doggie heaven the staff and doctors were amazing and very helpfull in this sad time with tears in my eyes i say thank you
I just went there to get my kitty’s ashes that passed after 17 years in the family and I couldn’t have smiled more when I read the card that was hand written for me. Absolutely amazing place and people!
The staff at this clinic are the best, we have quite a few animals and every time we have to take one to this clinic the staff are absolutely amazing. They are friendly, compassionate and always share a smile. Today Jamie was just an absolute delight to deal with over the phone several times over a script for our 16 year old chihuahua for a cough suppressant, not an emergency by any means and yet she remained polite and helpful when I'm sure she had so many more important things to do. Thank You Jamie.
My dog was taken here on April 28th and was found to be under critical and eventually, fatal kidney failure. I lost my best friend there yesterday and I have to say that the staff is so kind, patient and compassionate. If you have an end of life situation, I do hope you have the pleasure of dealing with Dr. Sanderson. She is truly the best type of person to be a Veterinarian. Even when I interrupted her, cried, asked the same questions repeatedly she maintained such warmth with me. I wished she had been the one to perform the end of life for my best friend. The over-night doctor was kind, but slightly less patient and cold with our questions and a bit stand-offish. As well as when it came to final payment before the euthanasia, my nurse seemed a bit frustrated by my inability to make sense of cost while I am frazzled, facing an impending frightening, devastating situation. They both still exercised basic kindness and professionalism but when you’re vulnerable and upset you pick up on these nuances and that experience matters. I understand they see these things every day, perhaps they are a bit desensitized out of necessity some days and probably answer the same questions over and over, but it must be remembered that this is the first time for a lot of people and is incredibly heartbreaking, confusing and disorienting. Patience and tone of voice can go a long way for clients, it takes minimal effort on their part just to create the best last feelings with our family member. Dr. Sanderson and the nurse with the arm script tattoo were particularly incredible and everything I could’ve hoped for. I am glad this is where I happened to bring my boy. I trust this hospital and regardless of the small frustration I had with the above - I would come back with complete trust and recommend highly. I am awaiting my buddy’s ashes, nose/paw print, X-rays and hair clippings. If that all goes as it should, I am satisfied and will walk away with as good of an experience as this can be. Thank you for trying to save my boy.
On Friday September 20th we rushed in our little dog and the service we got there was unbelievable .they took him right away put him in an oxygen tank. Unfortunately we had to put him down. They were so compassionate and thoughtful and the service was fantastic. Besides all of that they never charged us for euthanization just for the office visit which was very cheap. They are very highly recommendable and beautiful people and I would like to thank them very much. What was supposed to be a very hard which was hard but they helped alot. You made him calm down and helped his breathing. Thank you again for the staff it was a hard thing to go through but you guys made it a lot easier and comfortable and you helped us out. Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts.
I had to visit this emergency hospital recently and wanted to share my experience with you. Going to an emergency vet is stressful and somewhat scary in the unknown of it all. I was pleasantly surprised when I called and was greeted warmly, and calmly talked through the curbside service before I arrived. This helped me to ease some of my anxiety on my drive over. Everyone I interacted with was kind, professional and courteous. The vet I dealt with, Dr. Wright was compassionate and understanding. I was a bit frazzled and often asked her the same questions, she was patient with me and explained everything in detail. The receptionist, Emerald, was also very caring, professional and ever so gentle with my dog. Her passion for her work was evident and refreshing. She took the time to explain some veterinary terms to me in "plain" English which I really appreciated. She was very helpful and went above and beyond. My dog received excellent care here, and the level of service was amazing really. I am very glad that I visited your clinic. My dog was diagnosed, and I was given a variety of treatment options. All within a span of 4 hours. This is the same issue I've visited my regular vet for, and left their office twice with no diagnosis or clear treatment plan. My boy is finally looking and feeling better, all thanks to your staff and clinic. I will be sure to refer all my family and friends here. I thank you for your amazing service, and all the hard work you girls put in everyday.
I loved how friendly and helpful they were when we had to put our 9 year old English Mastiff to sleep. They did a great job with him and us.
Lovely staff. They were very kind and caring and did their best for our kitty. Thank you.
I took my daughter's pet bunny to the Animal Emergency Hospital after we noticed he was lethargic. Although the Hospital does not usually treat rabbits, they agreed to take a look at him. Unfortunately he passed away shortly after we arrived but the experience was made so much easier by the calming and caring interactions we had with Dr. Sparrow and her staff!!
Awesome ppl. They care. Well worth the cost
The staff is so kind and always answers my questions when I call. They have saved me several "emergency" trips that I didn't need to take, but been honest when I should bring her in to be checked.
Megan at the front desk was so kind and sweet. Jillian the veterinarian explained things so well and really made me feel better about the situation with my dog. After we had got all of his medications Megan went over the dosing and times with me with a fine-tooth comb. They printed out a ton of reading material for me about my dog's condition and how it should be treated. Thank you so much, you guys are awesome. Simba thanks you too????
I've had two seperate occasions now where this place has gone above and beyond to help. Both of my situations ended with not very goods for our furry loved ones, but the staff were incredibly kind and compassionate to us and our pets and made the process as comfortable as it could be during our incredibly difficult time. Their true mission is to help the animal they are working with, and it truly shows. I'm very thankful for their services and the money spent here has been well worth it. 10/10 would definitely recommend. Thank you staff, for all the hard work you do. ❤️
This is the best animal emergency clinic, and I've visited a number of them. I have never had a bad experience during my visits there. I would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Suttie who has looked after my cat (Sezar) for 2 years since he was diagnosed with cancer. He has never been given treatments that weren't necessary. Dr. Suttie has been very responsive to his needs, and I feel that her care is a big part of the reason he is still with us. I would like to say a special thank you to Tiffany, Page, and Sarah for helping me get Sezar's medication since we've moved to Calgary. I highly recommend this clinic. Thank you! Deanna & Sezar
