The staff and Doctor's at Main West are fantastic and most importantly, caring. From the receptionists who always greet me and my pet with a smile and a helping hand when we have trouble getting on the scale to the technicians (I've only met Amanda) post surgery, who was so informed and loving, you really feel the care that they take when it comes to the patients in their clinic which is a must because my pet is a family member. I cannot say enough about my vet (Dr. Bahn), he has found alternative methods to maintain a high quality of life for my retriever who suffers with arthritis and skin issues. This is not your ordinary Vet Clinic, it is full of truly caring people doing work that they love. My wife and I thank you all!

I tried to cancel My Beloved Pet Plan a month ahead of the date and when then told me it was cancelled and no payments would go through, they renewed my plan and still kept trying to take payments out of the account I do not use daily without permission and then did not do anything to rectify it.

We have been taking our dogs and cats to main west for well over 10 years. The team they have is truly amazing. The front desk always starts and ends the visit on a great note, they are always extremely helpful and you can tell they care about the patients. We usually see Dr. Bahn, I can not say enough good things about him, the vet techs and other veterinarians at main west. We've had our fair share of health issues with our animals and Dr. Bahn always goes above and beyond what I expect every single time. The vet techs are always so amazing with our animals. We recently had to put down our sweet 19 year old girl Lilo something we have been dreading and tried holding off because of all the uncertainties during Covid 19. Reception was wonderful helping us make our arrangements and when the time came found the staff to be very friendly and compassionate. We were happy they were able to make accommodations during the pandemic so we could still stay with her till the end and were not rushed at any point even after she was gone. We received and call to check in on us and card that wasn't like the standard generic I have gotten with other fur babies , it was personal and sincere. Thank you so much for going above and beyond to give comfort to our girl and our family.

What can I say? What a great caring bunch of people. Our kitty had life threatening surgeries in March, scary times for us. But everyone we dealt with was fantastic and helped us through rough decisions and only wanted the best for our little furry kid. Now he is doing great. Total rip off. 400 dollars later and I got some flea medicine and told my 14 year old dog has immature cataracts. Terrible communications between staff and vet. The Vet didn't even get the information about seizures from staff, and when I had to explain situation again, there was only a suggestion of a blood test, when I had already explained what the source of the problem was. The previous owner fed the dog too much liver and the dog was poisoned accidentally which was causing the seizures. Vitamin A and copper toxicity. I gave this Vet the answer and I still got nothing in return except some flea medicine. I could have bought it anywhere and it wouldn't have cost 400 dollars. sad no wonder people don't take their pets to vets and complain about the cost, now I'm a believer. no s

I was very happy to find a vet that would care for my pet rat. Everyone there was incredibly helpful and answered all my questions. Initial I was even shown how to properly give my rat his medication and I think I was given a good deal on the first month of treatment. They also were very caring when I brought my cat in after he ran away for a week and was sick when he got back.

We brought Kipper, our guinea pig to see Dr. Davidson about a sore on his face. We had excellent service and Kipper received compassionate care. We left with medicine to heal the wound as well as provided with knowledge on the care for Kipper not only expressed during the visit but printed out to review at home. The staff is so caring and really makes you feel comfortable. We are so pleased and would highly recommend the caring team.

We switched from Prince Charles over to this vet in Welland, only because we thought the service is outstanding. They treat our German Shepherd with the greatest care and she is always comfortable in their care. She is our princess and they treat her as so, which is everything I could ask for. Any questions or concerns I have, always answered the best they can without a run-around. No question is stupid and we feel comfortable as owners. The place is clean and all the staff I have encountered so far are extremely friendly - I would highly recommend.

This was my first time at Main West Animal Hospital. Every employee welcomed me as I walked in. The receptionist was very helpful and personable. The vet was extremely thorough with his examination of my girl Kiwi (bunny). He answered all of my questions and was very patient with me. He treated Kiwi with care and kindness. He was very gentle with her and spoke in a gentle voice which I really appreciated! I felt that Kiwi was in good hands!

Main West Animal Hospital took incredible care of our dog, Cito this summer. We knew he needed some dental extractions but were unsure the shape his teeth were in. He needed quite a few more extracted than we’d originally thought and Dr Bahn was fabulous: he called before the procedure went under way to explain what would happen. I felt an enormous amount of trust in his care! The clinic has called to check in on Cito several times since his procedure which goes such a long way – you can tell they genuinely care about the health of the animals they treat. Their COVID procedure is exceptional, the vet tech team has checking in animals for their visits down to an art form. We would recommend Main West in a heartbeat to anyone, they are simply the best!!

This place makes me sick. They couldn't even figure out my chihuahua had parvo virus back in the day, didn't know how to treat my other dog who was jumped on by the larger dog and they suggested putting down my other dog just because my grandma had an allergic reaction to him. Thank god there was a women in the waiting room who took in dogs who couldn't be cared for anymore. Bunch of horrible people, should be shut down. Would give negative stars if I could.

It's been several weeks since my chinchilla Hope was there after her accident. Hope had a degloving accident which resulted in her needing a tail amputation surgery. She has recovered amazingly. I can not say enough about Dr. Bhan, Amanda and the rest of the staff at Main West. From her initial appointment, to surgery day and the rest of the phone calls to let me know that surgery went well in addition to the amazing discharge phone call I received from Amanda. They even called to check up on her post surgery. This will continue to be Hope's vet and the vet I will recommend to anyone in need of an amazing exotic vet. Very friendly customer service. Called in to make an appointment and was able to get an appointment for the very next day! Due to Covid-19 restrictions, I had to park and text them my parking spot number. It took them at least 35 minutes to come out and grab my cat! What was the point then of giving me an appointed time?? It was bitterly cold out and I also haf my toddler in the car so I had to keep the car running the entire time with an impatient toddler. Other than that, service was efficient. The vet called me from inside to brief me and they followed up after a few days to see how my baby was doing. I would definitely go back again but keep in mind that I'll most likely have to wait despite having an appointment.

I brought my cat in today. They made a same day appointment with me which was greatly appreciated. The vet was very thorough and went through all the options on how I can help my cat. They caught a heart tremor that no other vet has pointed out yet and I am very grateful for that. They prescribed him some medicine and special food and went over how to use it with me. Over all I had a wonderful time with this vet and I definitely plan on coming to them for future visits.

I am so grateful for your insurance plan its literally bettered our lives :) In 2019 Mabel had an uti and was hematurial (blood in her pee). It was a that day emergency and even though I had to wait for a spot, they saw us and had us on our way to get better in 2 hours. We weren't even registered patients yet. I signed us up as soon as I could after that! Such an amazing, hard working team! Such love for animals and dedication to give them the best life!

My friend takes her little dog to get her nails cut and for all other vet necessities at this clinic here in Welland. If my friend tries to cut her doggies nails she turns friom a cute little dog to some maniac animal that would attack her as soon as she saw the trimmers. But I was totally shock at when my friend took her to this clinic to get her naiils done she walked in and sat there while these people trimmed her nails...if I had not seen it... Had an appointment yesterday lights were off enter door was locked so went in out door that was propped open with wedge. Vet tech (with face mask & gloves on, all info says only wear a mask if you have symptoms) comes out from back and says only animal is allowed in, owners wait outside and we will call you. They took my dog in came out 2-3 minutes later asking if I wanted nails clipped I advised them to bring my dog out immediately. A guy comes out and yells at me “are you NOT aware of what’s going on” I yell back bring me my dog, he turns away swears something goes back in office moving arms around and tells vet tech to get the dog out of here. If things are so bad they should have cancelled the appointment

I wish I could give more than five stars to this clinic. They write the book on how a veterinary clinic should be run. They are always courteous and professional on the phone, and you can hear the smile in their voice every time you call. You can also hear their concern, and their willingness to help. The techs are amazing, and again, professional and friendly. There is never any doubt that they are committed to the health of our beloved girls, Arrow and Sailor. The doctors are friendly, committed and are never in too much of a hurry to answer your questions. They take the time to explain things in terms I understand, which I am grateful for. Kudos to Dr. Katie and Dr. Joe, mainly because I usually see them. When the doctors are in the examining room with me, I feel that they are feeling my concern about my dog's health and they make it their concern. All the doctors are 100 per cent committed to the good health of our dogs. One of the vet techs took the time to come out and sit down with me to talk about the monthly pet plan. Once I found out she'd put her mother on the plan, I was sold, and have never regretted it. absolutely worthwhile for peace of mind! I would recommend this clinic to anyone!

You hear a lot of horror stories about vets and vet bills, it seems every pet owner has one. You're not going to find the same here. All of my pets are patients at MW and every single staff member takes every step possible to ensure a high quality of service for each of them. The folks behind the counter are always the epitome of courtesy, eager to help and genuinely interested in your pet's health and wellness. And the doctors ... My experiences there have been with both Dr. Bahn (sic) and Dr. Kelly. Those two are exactly what is missing from medicine. Dr. Bahn managed to calm my incredibly excitable lab after he had gotten an injury on his paw, treat him and wrap it up. And Dr. Kelly was with us from start to finish of the illness and recovery of one of our cats with hepatic lipidosis. There's an honesty, a desire to help, a strong sense of caring and community that I haven't encountered with other vets. Every pet I have will continue to be a patient there, and I would recommend that anyone who cares about the health and well being of their furry companions does the same.

Good clinic, quite busy. Has double doors for entrance and exit so dog's do not have to have contact if needed and are less likely to escape if loose. The staff I have met all seem to be very nice and none of the pets seem scared of anyone there. Potholes in parking lot entrance need some work though before it causes someone to need auto repair after their vet appointment ????

I'm torn about this place. I love Dr. Bohn, he's the best - knows his stuff, is thorough and realistic.. BUT the only thing that drives me nuts is the CONSTANT up-selling at this clinic. These past two weeks (definitely not the first time) I have had constant text message and FIVE voicemail "reminders" about my Pet needing a wellness checkup.. or vaccines.. yadda yadda.. it never ends. Im surprised they havent asked me to sign up for Dog Yoga yet. I know there is definitely incentives for the frontline staff to sell and book appointments, but its TOO MUCH. Recently they just went ahead and left a message that they booked me in for a rabies vaccine, without me even requesting it. I was out of country, and now this creates work for me - the customer - to call back and say I don't want it - then get a subtle guilt trip from the somewhat condescending girl on the other end. Yesterday I picked up flea/tick meds yesterday, and sure enough I couldn't get out of there without them guilting me into a heartworm check and then their scripted story on how a few dogs died last year. YES, I GET IT. I am a good pet owner, but sometimes we need to draw a line because I have spent well over $5,000 - $10,000k last year on my pets alone. Great clinic.. but c'mon guys, let's ease up on the up sells.. I shouldn't have to leave your business frustrated and somewhat shamed that I havent booked my pet in for every darn vaccine, wellness checkup, fecal test, or god knows what else you require of us. I know it can be disguised as "genuine care for your pet".. but.. yeah.. not my first time at the rodeo. It shouldnt be money first, then service, it should be the other way around.. and I just feel like a big ol' wallet to this establishment.

Honestly, I'm disappointed. I took my cat there because he had a lump in his mouth. First they told me it was a autoimmune issue. The problem didn't go away we took him back and without any tests they told us it was probably cancer. Told him to a different vet. Only to find out it was a infection. A severe infection. If they had taken the time and actually run some tests, maybe it wouldn't have been an 800$ problem. I've decided to take my pets else where from now on.

I relied so heavily on Google Reviews to point me to the best vet clinic in Welland and it brought me to Main West Animal Hospital. Without any doubt, the staff here take great pride in their work and ensured my boy was well taken care of. He even got excited to visit the vet, because they had all the treats. The staff at Main West Animal Hospital are amazing. So caring, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. My dog needed a very in-depth (3 different things done to her back leg) uncommon surgery that we were going to have to send her to a specialist for, but because of the very high cost and no surgeron willing to attempt it, it was not an option. The surgeon at Main West spent 45 minutes on the phone with us after our initial appointment to go over our options and explain everything in great detail. He was able to perform a surgery that was much more affordable and was willing to work with us to stay within the budget that their financing approved us for. Mollys leg was such a mess he was caring enough and felt he needed to do something. We were warned ahead of time that it may not be a permanent fix and she might not be as active as she was before but it should give her a good quality of life for many more years. Thankfully Molly would rather swim than go for a long walk and he said that should not be a problem. It has been just over a month since her surgery and they say she is doing great. The vet tech that we are working with now is also incredibly knowledgeable and helpful and has started teaching us physiotherapy to do at home. I can't say enough good things about their staff. Always running on time and once you are in for your appointment they never make you feel rush. The clinic itself is in a cute little building, it is very clean and there is a little store on site. Molly loves going to the vet even though she has been there quite a lot over the past 2 months for something that is not very enjoyable. Thank you to all the staff at Main West. You truly are amazing, caring people.

We just lost our cat Bo who we had for 14 years. He was a beautiful Maine Coon who was 14 years old and full of fun, laughter, surprises and at times utter silliness. He became diabetic about 2 years ago and was on insulin doing pretty good for his age. We had to take him in a few times for unexpected vomiting and blood. He was examined and we were told to leave him in to have a glucose test done. So sure, we left him and the conclusion adjust his insulin. This happened multiple times. After watching Bo struggle with his balance and control of his bladder, once again a call was placed. Bo was brought in again for YES a blood glucose test. This time I get a call that they have taken it upon themselves to take an xray because they felt something wasn't right. OK, fine. Why didn't they call me first? What was the issue and just why take the film and inform me after? The results: Bo had a huge mass, pressing down his bladder, his intestines all of his organs were being effected. Prognosis: an attempt at removal of the mass with no guarantee or of course putting him to sleep. We were devastated. Why didnt they do this kind of investigating sooner? Bo had been coming in for multiple appointments and had blood work, urine tests but yet no one felt a huge mass?! It didn't grow to that size in two weeks!! I feel extremely sad that Bo is gone but completely let down by the person who was supposed to be looking out for him! I will not tell anyone where they should or shouldnt go. There are some extremely kind and wonderful people in this office and to them I am grateful. Thank you. I do however want to remind this owner that there is more to your business than money! Listen to your customers. When they say they know their pet's behavior, believe them. If they say the animal has had the same symptoms before LISTEN!! It's time to be more co-operative about our pets care!!

I also feel that my 10 month old pup, Nella, loves going there. She's treated with respect, and everyone there loves seeing her. It really bothered me to hear about that "other" vet at that "other" hospital a month or 2 ago. He should have lost his licence, I haven't heard if he has or not. We expect vets to care compassionately for our pets as much as we do, and as laymen, we don't have the knowledge that they possess. Therefore we trust them. And when that trust is violated, vets like that so-called vet don't deserve to be in that capacity.

I've heard so many good things about this veterinary clinic and gave them about six visits with my four animals. I always walk away with a hefty bill to pay, having to wait 15-30 mins after my appointment time to be seen and no progress in one of my dogs who repeated got ear infections, just some steroids to eliminate the current issue only for it to repeatedly come back with the same treatment over and over again. They were rude on multiple occasions and seemingly implying that I was a bad owner for not wanting to do further testings that comes with another $300 to the bill. Not to mention that it's $110 just for them to simply look at the pet. I am not satisfied with the service and will not be returning.

This place is amazing. Although I live an hour away now, I will happily make the drive because I no longer want anyone else dealing with my animals. When covid was at its peak, this clinic was terribly busy and running with less staff and vets than usual. However, I found a lump on my guinea pig and after only 1 days notice, hoped they could fit me in for an assessment. When I came to pick him up, the clerk told me they put him in a surgery and got that lump out no problem, AND they only charged me for the assessment! I am so grateful that in the parking lot full of dogs they managed to see to it that my little guinea pig was taken care of. I recommend this clinic to everyone, I am so grateful for that.

I gave one star , this is why. Covids made the staff and doctors nutty. We are being punished and not allowed in with our dogs because we are not vaccinated. We have had covid and so have our two dogs. Last year we aloud the staff to come out to our car to get our dogs. Something happened to our ten year old pug when he was given his shot. He must have yelped because he had a hard time walking for about eight months and you couldn't touch the spot where he got his shot. And now we are not allowed in because we're not vaccinated. Shame on you!

We took our three dogs to main west animal hospital,can not begin to explain our experience but all try. The staff was extremely helpful,polite and extremely happy to see our pups. While we were in the room with our vet,he was extremely kind,helpful and knowledgeable and kept me in the loop of what he was doing and why he was doing it. I would highly recommend them,we will no longer be looking for a vet as we found ours. Thank you guys

All the staff have always been wonderful with our MANY of visits. They have always been compassionate in all situations (lost 3 cats in about 2.5 years (Cancer, Age/Tumor, and one with an Autoimmune disorder)). They currently care for our Dog and 4 cats. When we first started going there they were the only vets out of 4 places that could figure out what was going on with my dog. Since then it's been a manageable issue and we have been going there and to their sister vet for about 8 years now (when we moved cities but are now back at Main West now that we are more local). Dr Aaron is fantastic! He took care of my chinchillas and surprisingly knew quite a bit about them. The staff was great especially the vet technician who helped explain the medication and how to bandage my chins leg after he had injured it. MWAH Took my dog in quickly to have a surgery. Dr. Aron was super informative and comfortable to talk to, he solidified my decision for surgery and gave his professional and honest opinion, while also assuring me by speaking in terms I could understand. The rest of the staff was also very friendly and all looked happy to be there first thing in the morning. I am pretty sure they were all smiling the whole time I was there. Lol! :) They gave my dog amazing care and considered how far our drive was when figuring out a pick up time for her. They also called post-surgery to make sure she was doing well and how much of a great dog she was. I had a great experience and I will go back to this clinic if any other surgeries arise for my dogs. Worth the drive from the GTA if looking for a well-run, inviting and reasonably priced veterinarian.

I had been a patient of theirs from 2017 until early last year after having 3 serious misdiagnosis in the span of a couple months for both of my cats. Colby was diagnosed by Dr Bhan as having a hyperthyroid requiring pills twice a day to get his levels down, and then were told to come back in a few weeks for another blood test to see how it was working. We went back for the other test, and we asked him if the dosage could be lowered if his levels were down, Dr Bhan told us that never happens, and to keep it the same. Meanwhile his brother Felix was having issues with eating and was occasionally peeing blood so we took him in, and saw Dr. Joseph first, who didn't even look inside his mouth and said that he had cancer. After getting home still in shock, and talking it over with family; I arranged to have another Dr actually look at him to get their opinion. It was Dr. Bhan. He said that the mouth issues was because of his teeth and that he needed some removed. He also took blood tests and assured us that his kidneys were fine and the blood was a urinary tract infection; after we specifically asked numerous times to be sure he would be fine. We ended up going ahead with a quoted $1300-1800 teeth extraction surgery which in the end ended up being $2000 to remove only 7 teeth. Felix was to go back for a check up the next weekend. That morning exactly 5 mins before leaving for it, Colby threw up a huge amount of blood, walked a couple feet before keeling over. In complete shock we took him in hoping to be seen with Felix. We were given pamphlets about cremation and burial, before even seeing the vet. We saw Dr. Debbie and she completely helped save Colby's life. She saw his last blood test results and told us to "IMMEDIATELY LOWER THE DOSE TO HALF" It ended up being an ulcer that burst, and he is still alive and kicking today. The results she read for the level was 6, and normal for a cat his age is around 30, you can imagine our shock again especially having asked Dr. Bhan beforehand about this exact concern. While sitting in the waiting room to pay, we were talking to another lady who had the same problem with her cat; she had been quoted an amount for tooth removal and ended up paying round the same as we did. Felix ended up passing away not more than a month later because he had what the Emergency Vets said was the largest tumor on his bladder that they had ever seen. It was about the size of a quarter, and we were told all 3 emerg vets on duty that night could not believe that it was missed by Main West when they put in Felix's catheter for the tooth operation. I was devastated and extremely upset, especially having spent all that money, when it could have actually gone towards saving his life. Less than a week later we received a wonderful card from the ER that was hand signed and everything. It was very comforting. We didn't get so much as a phone call from Main West. Nothing. This all happened in February 2020, and then Covid hit. So we were stranded without a vet as in my books 3 strikes you're out. Colbys pill prescriptions had enough refills to get him until this past March. We had been using a terrific and extremely friendly online company called ThePetPharmacist.ca to refill his meds and when the repeats were up Dr. Bhan refused to issue them more repeats unless he saw Colby to do a $300+ blood test. I replied saying that because of Covid, we had been keeping things very restricted at home and would appreciate if he would make an exception until things settle down and the lock downs get lifted. I was later left a phone message saying that he would need to see Colby again even though I have an email from his staff stating otherwise Overall I am extremely disgusted with their behavior given what had happened to Felix, and the amount of money we had given them for all the tests, treatments, surgeries, meds, etc. It was very unprofessional and literally almost cost me BOTH of my "kids." It took me a long time to get the strength to share this, but I owe it to Felix. I still haven't heard a sorry.

I was a new client and arrived for my 5pm appointment and sent the text to indicate I had arrived at 4:43pm. After waiting quite some time, I realized clients arriving after me had already been seen and left, and called the number indicated on the parking space sign. When I tell the receptionist I had texted and my dog’s appointment was almost a half hour ago, she tells me they didn’t receive anything from me and the doctor had now moved on, and it would be another little while before I could be seen. After one hour of waiting, I left. Had they realized this was a system error and apologized, and told me someone would be right out to get my dog, this could have been a good experience and I would have left pleased. This clinic is not cheap and I expected better service. I will not be taking my pets there in the future.

As a long time (20 years) customer of Main West Animal Hospital we were disappointed when Dr. Finnigan retired and we were concerned about the care our pets would get under new management. Our fears were quickly eliminated when we had the opportunity to meet with Dr. Bhan, Dr. Denouden, Dr. Zeller and Dr. Butler over the past year. We found that they foster a philosophy of wellness and preventative treatment over reactive medication. The clinic offers a one stop service, with a compliment of medical and holistic treatments. With the proper diagnosis and collaborative treatment Main West has saved us money by eliminating unnecessary and costly tests and procedures that could have resulted from inadequate investigation and consultation. Prevention of illness is also prevention of expense. Our 5 year old Lab has suffered numerous mobility issues and had been subjected to pain medication for comfort control. Dr. Butler worked collaboratively with us to truly understand the history of our pet and the little details that are important for an individual assessment and treatment as opposed to a generic treatment. She provided clear options and an action plan for the optimal outcome. Under Dr. Butler's care he is now free of all meds. With rest, proper nutrition, laser treatments, Dr Bhan's chiropractic adjustments, and exercise he has regained mobility and renewed energy. The fact that there is little turnover in the care team speaks to the culture of the clinic. They are familiar with their patients and able to provide a personal touch while they go the extra mile. The clinic supports the local Humane Society which is of great service to our community. We recommend Main West Animal Hospital to anyone seeking a pet care clinic that offers not only quality of health care but quality of people to provide that care and we will continue to take our family to Main West for those reasons.

When visiting family in Welland this holiday season, on Christmas Day my dog bit through her stitches from her acl (ccl) surgery she had undergone the week prior to. My brother suggested Main West Animal Hospital due to his dog's great experiences. Main West called me back first thing in the a.m. Not only did they request pics of the damage done - unlike the Orthopedic Hospital that did her surgery out here in MI - but Main West took her in that morning. The new sutures were so much cleaner than those done here in MI. The whole process from check-in to check-out and follow up was sooooo impressive. They set up a patient portal immediately which was unbelievable to me, even knowing we were from out of town. I am beyond happy with the care my English Lop, Morgan (Smith) received at Main West Vet this week. Morgan was getting neuter surgery and I was extremely thorough in deciding where to take him. Rabbits are considered exotic pets, and many vets will take on rabbit surgeries with little knowledge about them- but that was definitely not true with Main West. They were extremely knowledgeable on rabbit care, the risks of neuter surgery and they explained in detail each part of the process from dropping him off, to post surgery care. The team members were honest, informative, kind (I was coming from 2 hours away and was late due to a snow storm), thorough, and overall extremely welcoming. I am very impressed with their covid-19 protocols, keeping their staff, our pets and us safe. Their level of professionalism and constant communication made me feel at ease trusting them with our beloved boy. Morgan is back to hopping around (carefully) and we are following the very detailed steps for his recovery. As someone whose worked with animals for over 10 years, I am beyond impressed with this clinic. Morgan and I are very appreciative of their kindness and we wish you all a happy new year. I bought my cat to Clinic on a Monday, Dr decided to run Blood Work and Ex rays ( Almost $800.00 ) as far as the Vet said could find a problem or wasn't sure what was going ,so she decide Abbey needed to have a Ultra Sound ( Another $ 700.00 ) was scheduled for Thursday,the only thing was Abbey DIED in my arms Wednesday morning. Lees than 48 hr after I left the Vet. I have been a Client of this Vet for 25 Years and have NEVER had a Vet that didn't value a animals life until know all she could say is maybe this maybe that she didn't have a clue except for the COST of the procedures that she knew well.This clinic has always been the best around bar none not to sure about new staff that has been hired seem like all they can think about are test and how much cash.

I can not express how great this place is. This is the only place within 30 min that takes birds and when we found my bird on the ground with what we thought was a broken leg we panicked thinking there wasn't a place we could get him checked out. They took us in 1 hour before they closed because of what bad shape my bird was in and when we got there he was taken to the back to be looked at within a minute of us arriving. The vet and the staff were so kind and helpful and even though it wasn't good for my bird they were kind hearted and didnt rush us to make a decision. The vet was very professional and informed us that basically my bird didnt have a broke leg but some sort of problem with his brain/a possible timer. He told us that my bird was dieing and that he could continue to examine and take xrays and all that but from his experience there was nothing he could do. He was kind about the hole thing and you could tell he felt awful about it. He was kind about having to put my bird to sleep ( my bird had started to have seizures and after the vet told me I could take him home and he could pass away there still having seizures I decided it was better to put him to sleep) he explained everything in terms I understood with out sounding condescending and said that it would be fast and my bird wouldn't feel a thing. They put him in a little box so we could bring him home, and a week later we got a sympathy card In the mail that was signed by the hole staff saying how sorry they were. This will be my go to vet from now on and I highly recommend it to anyone. I should also mention that the vet informed us of the cost of everything before hand he told us that doing further investigation would cost 500-600$ and that he didnt think it was worth it as he was confident in what was happening. He didnt pressure us to spend more then we had to.

I would not recommend this animal hospital for large parrots. Although the nails were done satisfactorily, my bird's wings were NOT! The feathers on one wing have been cut to an appropriate length and shape. The feathers on the other wing are too short (almost 2 inches shorter) and look like they were hacked off, which can lead to injury for the bird. I am disappointed that my bird was sent out of their office with uneven wing feathers and will not take him back. We are sad to see such a beautiful bird come out of a grooming appointment looking like this. The cost was excessive as well.

Always kind, compassionate and caring from beginning to end, no matter the species (MainWest cares for my rats, cats and dog). Dr Bahn in particular is fantastic and has saved 3 of my rats lives, including giving mouth to mouth resuscitation to my baby boy, Bowie! Dr Sherry also helped my senior dog live his best and healthiest life all the way till the end. I always receive expert advice and passionate care from every staff member Ive interacted with. Expensive but very worth it. Won't go anywhere else!

I highly recommend Main West! Having three dogs currently, they have addressed every concern throughly. Do follow up calls and appointments. My dogs are all rescues and varying ages. No history. So sometimes difficult to know why things have happened or when they initially started. They are also on the MLP Plan. Highly recommend doing this.

My little guy contracted leptospirosis when we moved back to Ontario. I had no idea about this deadly disease until it was too late. I brought Peanut to this hospital and it was the best decision I made. They worked day and night to get my little guy better. They took time out of their days off to care for him and not once did they make it seem like it was an inconvenience to them. Peanut spent three weeks in the hospital so they became very attached to him and wanted to see him get better! It was costly but they did their best to work with me as I was willing to put the money into him getting better. Having a pet is a commitment and I was willing to do whatever it took to get him better and so were they. I cannot thank the staff enough for saving my baby. A huge thanks to the staff for being his mom while he was hospitalized! Dr Joseph, Amanda, Katie, Cassandra, Justina and the rest of the staff are hero's in my eyes and we will be forever grateful to these wonderful humans!

I was just in with our little ferret Zorro, who has had cancer for a while now. We found out he has a huge new tumour in his stomach and won't be with us much longer, its been a very hard day. The way the staff handled explaining everything, taking him in back for x-rays, being so so sweet with him and helping us with home palliative care... its rare to find a vet and staff that cares so much about small animals, and are so kind and gentle with them.
