Had a same day surgery @ this hospital, drove from Ottawa to skip lengthy waiting list; as soon as you walk into this medical premise you feel the peace: Quiet, very clean, no traffic but smiley staff faces everywhere... I have had my Best medical experience with surgery med team: Nurse Donna (not Donna Sumner!) Was awesome with extra care she provided before & after surgery, however she failed to do my surgery herself as an amateur & pay me $ 1000 in Gift cards/ Dollarama & Salvation army to buy my silence ????, Dr Kirby was wonderful providing assurance of a pain-free procedure; Dr Gauthier spent over 15 min prior-surgery to address any concerns I might have, finally did a great job, 0 pain, 0 pain killers on my 4th day post surgery, unbelievable!... Receptionist, surgery nurses & everyone: Thanks a zillion for saving lifes around the clock, you're not humans, you're true angels!

Horrible experience time and time again. I missed a follow up due to family emergency and the doctor in ER the next weeks starts acting extremely rude saying they cant do anything because i missed my follow up and she isnt a gynaecologist so what do I expect her to do...

This is just by far the best hospital I’ve ever been to. I went for the birth of my firstborn daughter and I couldn’t have dreamed about more skilled practitioners, better care and facilities. 10/10 for this experience and the private recovery room and care. Special shout out to nurses Rosie and Beth. I felt like I was surrounded by friends. Just had to go again today for a stomach ache that turned out to be appendicitis and once again absolutely impressed by the extraordinary care and experience. I ended up having to be transferred to Queensway for surgery and have been wishing myself back to Almonte every single minute. Way to go, AGH Team. Thank you!!!!!!

I arrived in the ER last night with a really bad cut on my thumb. Like, really bad. Within 15 minutes I was being stitched up by a doctor and nurse that were quick, efficient, and very professional. I don't plan on cutting myself that badly ever again, but if I do, I hope it happens in Almonte.

This hospital is good for minor problem like flu. Not when you have a fall. The doctor did not even ask for X ray, or ultra sound. At the age of 64, any fall, I thought should be checked thoroughly, especially when the patient is on Xeralto blood thinner. I was sent back to care by icing and have painkiller. I went to Palladium clinic same day and got X ray done the next day. I had a fracture and also a tear. Now I am waiting for Ortho to get appointment. The reason you go to the hospital is to get care by having all tests done and have treatment on time. I lost already 4 days and still don't have ortho appointment to have my fracture treated. I should have gone to the Carleton hospital.

Emergency handled my anxiety really well! super caring during my circumstances of a first miscarriage besides the RUDE girl doing my blood pressure saying I didn't need to be so dramatic saying I was in pain and couldn't talk loud enough..????.

This is literally the most dipicable bunch of individuals working in health care. The ladies at reception were the only ones that were even remotely pleasant and the technician in X-ray. The DR I saw yesterday was extremely rude and unprofessional. I thought it was a one-off but when I went in for X-ray today I got the same treatment from the RN’s on emerg. The problem I’m having is effecting my ability to do my job. As a business owner I need to work as I have no access to benefits. They made it very clear that it wasn’t their problem and go see my doctor that is impossible to get in to. They did not want me to be seen at the hospital and made it abundantly clear. I would rather wait the 12 hours in emerg in Ottawa to be treated like a human being than to subject myself or anyone else to this disgrace. I wouldn’t bring in a ROCK to be seen by this hospital. These are not people that should be in charge of the care of others as they have zero bedside manner or compassion.

Ultra Sound Department Tracy Booking ... Amazing Service !! Worried about husband liver ...tried to book in Ottawa at least a week to get in ...some places in Ottawa couldn't book him until June 19. Almonte Hospital to our rescue ...thanks to Tracy understanding our worries managed to book us the next day !! She was so understanding we need to know so my husband can stop worrying and deal with the situation... Been here 3 times now for our kids (2 & 3) and they are excellent. This is by far my favorite hospital in the area. They treated our son better than at CHEO (only been once) - better experience and better outcome. All the staff are great with kids in Almonte. If I could designate the portion of my taxes that go to a hospital, I'd choose this one!

Never again. We had to visit ER today. A complete waste of 4 hours as 5 people came, got attended to, and then were gone. Never again. Go somewhere else if you value your time. This place is an absolute joke. Old previous review - We usually have no issues with Almonte General Hospital. This review is specifically for the ultrasound unit. There is a younger dark haired technician who dealt with us today. She could not have been less personable or helpful. We were not impressed at all. She refused to tell us the gender of our baby. And although it may be obvious to some, it's not obvious to everyone. It just really left a sour taste in our mouths. It was part of the reason we had the ultrasound. To determine health and gender. Brutal.

The maternity ward is fantastic. Had our first baby there in 2019 and the staff was so friendly and professional. Dr Awwad was our OB leading up to our delivery and Dr Caloia delivered our baby. We will definitely be back if we ever get pregnant again. Thank you!

Came here thinking that my son would be seen for his bug bite quicker than in the city. Waited over 5 hours and still nothing. How hard is it to prescribe antibiotics!?! Then one of the nurses comes out to announce that it will be a couple of more hours wait. I will never come to a place that is as utterly useless as the Almonte Hospital. I'll go to a walk in with mediocre doctors before even thinking of coming back.

Avoid this hospital. The doctors here are collecting a paycheck, that's it. sometimes doctors can lack compassion, this I understand. What I don't understand is how some of these idiots go their doctorates. This place is urgent care at best and should be renamed accordingly. The ONLY reason to go to the AGH is for a nosebleed, the flu or to give birth. My grandmother had a fall, she is 87 years old. She fell on the back of her head, there was blood everywhere. She was seen at the Almonte Hospital by a female Dr. The Dr cleaned her up and sent her home after 7!!!! stitches to the back of the head...wtf.. NO x-ray NO MRI NO follow up scheduled She did shine her light in her eyes though... My grandma was sent home. About 1 hour later she is in a terrific amount of pain and goes back into AGH...where they tell her to go to the Civic, where she is admitted. They later discover, via XRAY, that she had a brain bleed. Get your crap together guys, the citizens of Almonte deserve better.

By far the best hospital around. Born and raised in Almonte and currently reside here - never have I ever had a bad experience. Some of the best doctors and nurses out there and we are lucky to have them! Also, a 5 Plus Star Maternity Ward. The best nurses on the planet work here. Both of my children were born in this hospital and my experiences were made 100% better because of the staff.

My grandmother arrived via ambulance after having the symptoms of a heart attack. 0 investigative medicine done. She was instead given a covid swab and now she can’t even go see her own doctor until she gets a negative result. An absolute joke of a facility. You’re better going any place else.

Anytime I've needed a hospital, for myself or my children, Almonte was efficient and thorough. I have had two babies in Almonte and both experiences were great. My father, while having a heart attack, had my mother drive him to Almonte hospital from Smiths falls, because he knew that was his best choice!

6 people in the waiting room when I arrived at 2:45 pm. 3.5 hours later, the 6 people ahead of my son have come and gone, and 3 more people have been taken in before us. We’re still waiting. I don’t recommend coming to this hospital, and I won’t come back.

Myself and my family have used this hospital many times over the years, nothing but great things to say. This community is so fortunate to have such an amazing facility and such dedicated staff. We will all be that much more fortunate when their fundraising efforts pay off for more diagnostic imaging equipment that we won’t have to travel to other hospitals for those procedures.

I have been to the Almonte Hospital on numerous occasions, and have always had pleasant experiences. The OB department is amazing, and I couldn't say better things about the birthing unit and staff. What brought me to write this review though, was the sweetest, most personable US tech, Chantal. It's been 5 years since my last baby, and being unable to bring my husband due to COVID and feeling like a newbie after all this time, having someone like her to answer my questions and truly listen to what I am saying was amazing. She provided a scan for me at 16 weeks and again at 20 weeks and was stellar both times. She was thorough, upbeat, friendly and walked me through everything she was doing in the US. She was relatable and super easy to talk to. Hoping to see her again for any future ultrasounds!

We tried 4 different walk-in clinics this day, but we were unsuccessful in getting an appointment. Each clinic were not accepting any more patients- I was told by each, 'that all appointments were filled for the day'. On our last stop, I was told that the QCH had a wait time of 11-12 hours and it was recomended to us to make a trip to the Almonte hospital, as the wait time would be shorter there. We drove to Almonte and after 5 hours we were finally seen. The staff were good and the young doctor knew his stuff, took his time and didn't rush our questions. I am taking a point away as the wait was very long and somewhat unexplainable, as there were very few people waiting to be seen by the doctor and there were no injuries or emergencies that required immediate care. I am taking a second point away as there were 4 unruly, loud, abnoxious, hyper teenagers with bad manors acting up in the waiting room. I would expect that the next time this would happen, hospital staff would take control of the situation, so that it is not uncomfortable for other people who are patiently serving time in the waiting room. To add, they don't give change for the 1 vending machine, but there is plenty of free parking, which is a positive, if you want to leave for snacks. Don't worry, there is no need for you to hurry back with your snacks, since you have most of the night to camp out before you get finally get to see the doc.

Never had a bad experience. I've been here multiple times since I was a baby for everything from broken bones to strep throat to major allergic reactions, and (aside from today's triage nurse being a bit rude) I've never had a bad experience. Reasonable rural hospital wait times that are dependent on severity (so you can expect about three hours unless things worsen), no toll for the ER parking lot (looking at you, Arnprior General), and doctors that communicate with their patients.

i have never dealt with such an amazing hospital. the emergency nurses/ doctors, aswell as all the nurses and drs in the OB unit, thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking such great care of me during my pregnancy the numerous times i was in and aswell thank you for the amazing care you gave me while i was there having my daughter rose ???? thank you ESPECIALLY to - lisa from unit, lisa from ob, rosie, danika, emily, jody, marilyn, dr latucia, dr caloia, dr awwad, and there are so many others i didn’t catch the names of who were so amazing to me! i ???? would say to anyone if you have health care problems, or are having a baby, ALMONTE is the place to go for sure. ❤️thank you again

If I could rate this hospital less than a one star I would, my boyfriend went into emergency because for the past 2 days he hasn’t been able to breathe properly and has woken up in the night thinking he was suffocating... This morning it was so bad his whole body went numb and he couldn’t walk. The doctor told him it was a panic attack and sent him home. The nurse was no help and only told him to “control his breathing”, He is not able to breathe so that’s no help at all. I highly suggest never going here unless you’re okay with doctors assuming things and dismissing serious issues like they are nothing. HORRIBLE
