My wife and I moved here four years ago and have had excellent services from this hospital. Everyone is professional and pleasant.
I have been there serval times since moving to the area, and everytime I have had a great experience with the doctors and nurses, very attentive and caring. I am very happy I delivered my son there and had an excellent experience.
Stepped on a rusty nail that penetrated almost through my foot. The staff were helpful and friendly, the facilities were clean and modern and the wait time was reasonable especially compared to a Toronto hospital. Hope I never have to come again mind you but I couldn't ask for a better ER room experience. Much thanks to all the staff and doctor (didn't catch his name but he was on call on the night of June 22, 2019) that helped me!
I asked the desk on where they have moved my family member because they are suicidal and the woman on the phone sighed because it’s to much to ask someone on where they moved a patient. B.s place and rude staff.also! While I was dying from meningitis they told me to go home that I had the flu..I came back the next day in a wheelchair almost dead! They don’t take their time when checking their patients. But they take their time getting to them while they are in the waiting room.
It’s so slow and sometimes they aren’t even correct
Go here if you have to go to a hospital! They are friendly, helpful and they try to get you in and out as quickly as they can! We had out son there, and they were very helpful from start to finish! Even when you walk-in, they do their best to help!
Thankful we have such a great hospital here in Parry Sound, clean and modern. Staff was very respectful and attentive, especially the nurses.
Came in on a Sunday with face paralysis. Was quickly triaged, blood work done, EEG done and CT scan taken. This is why I support WPSHC annualy. Outstanding people and service to our community.❤️
I was in day surgery and the staff were friendly and very helpful. They worked hard and stayed busy with a positive attitude and energy. They should be used as an example for the ER department as they are the total opposite.
I have seen so many negative reviews on this hospital and it's staff here. Yes I had one bad experience with a lady at the reception in emerge but that is just once. My Mom has been in and out of the hospital for the last few months and she has been treated fantastic there. Last night I had to get in in again by ambulance and the nurses who helped her were far far beyond kind and incredibly compassionate. One's name was Riley and the other was Heather I think. There was one more who was incredible but I can't remember her name. The Dr that admitted and first saw my Mom was Dr. Juneau a young lady. She actually remembered my Mom from her last admittance there and she was super. She took the time to answer both my Mother's and my questions and she genuinely cared. Not seemed to care but actually DID care. When my Mom was admitted the last time she was there for just over two weeks and in very poor health both physically and mentally due to her illness. I can't express my gratitude enough to the nurses and staff that took care of her. They treated her with respect and dignity all while being incredibly overworked and short staffed. I was constantly thanking them and saying to keep the positive attitude they have years down the road as so many people in this industry become jaded from being over worked and under appreciated. I don't know what their salaries are but it's not enough. Thank you ever so much to the nurses and the doctors that cared for my Mom and that are caring for her right now. I wish I could do something more to let them know how much they are appreciated and how much of a difference they've made for a senior that is ill and extremely worn down by it all. Bless you all.
Long wait
All I can say is FANTASTIC! While on vacation this summer, my 7 month old son and I had a fall. We drove to Parry Sound Hospital and recieved INCREDIBLE care. Both ladies in the addmitting office were absolutely amazing. Once we were back in the waiting room, which wasn't a long wait, we were called into a room by a lovely nurse. She calmed us down right away and took interest in our vacation. She made us feel like we were her number one priority - what a breath of fresh air. My husband and I were astounded that there were so many nice people working there. A few minutes later, in walks a female Doctor. She was such a kind, caring and compassionate doctor. The way every doctor should be. Again, she put us at ease, checked out my son and asked how our vacation was going. I wish the hospital where I live was half as amazing as the Parry Sound Hospital. Keep up the great work and thank you for the EXCEPTIONAL care you gave to my family.
Horrible service by the ambulance staff and in the emerge! Better off going elsewhere!
Never a good experience here i would sooner take my chances at a veterinary office then go here unless your from the city because for some reason there more important.
Friendly, helpful and efficient staff
Wish there was a zero star. You get registered and then forgotten in the waiting room.
Absolutely the worst hospital I have ever had to visit. If I could give it a negative rating I most certainly would. Unfortunately there are no walk in clinic's during the off season. After 4 hours and 2 of which we were told we are next, we left with our child who just needed antibiotics for an ear infection. We drove back to Barrie. Jackie (either a receptionist or a nurse) was exceptional condescending, rude and lacked any kind of compassion or empathy. She definitely should not be in the health care profession. This is absolutely a hospital to avoid, if at all possible.
Worst experience of my life. Disorganized and rude. I am a total advocate for health care in ontario. I think we are the luckiest people in the world to have the health care that we do. Until you go to Parry Sound!!!!! The WORST!!
Today I dropped my husband off at PS hospital with chest pains (due to Covid, I was not allowed in) at 9:45 am and at 12:45 picked him back up after not even having see a nurse in triage. All they took was his name. Other patients were seen before him (one was a cut on the finger, the other complaining of a headache) and he was not seen at all. There was a trauma that occured (Medivac hospital landed twice) so I understand if that trumped my husband but he was never seen. My husband gave up. Not sure if he just got lost in the shuffle or due to his colour but this was unacceptable. I went in after he returned to the car to complain and ask why he was not seen but was not given an answer. Worst experience ever! One nurse noticed he was still there and made a comment about it but then went on her break and never mentioned it to anyone.
Nurses, doctors and other staff are 110%
Was in and out in an hour. Was very nice. It was at 1 am on a Thursday but overall wasn't to bad
they treated me quickly. were friendly and concerned. Dr. Smyth did a great job on my elbow. I stayed overnight and the staff was fantastic.
Waited four hours at this place and still didn't get seen. All I needed was a prescription for something I simply forgot at home. Nurse couldn't even tell me when I MIGHT get seen. Literally needed 60 seconds of the doctor's time. Walked out, not that they would even NOTICE. Screw you WPSHC.
Was unfortunate to break my ankle well in the area and had1 to have surgery and a 3 day visit . Staff was amazing and nurses made it very comfortable when in a bad situation .
If you are planning to have a child here I would strongly recommend driving to a different hospital. I had a horrible experience. First trying to guilt me out of getting the epidural saying I was not in enough pain for it and that the epidural doesn't actually work, the doctor even asked me "what makes you think labour should be painless". Several hours later when I was ready to deliver they told me not to push until the doctor got there, leaving me crowning for over 30 minutes. They then brought 2 student doctors in, did not introduce them or ask me if they could be there. Let one of them actually do the delivery while the other (Male student) stood and watched. When my child was born she was not breathing and had to be resisted. After she started breathing I held her for maybe 5 minute before they told me she had to go by ambulance to the Orillia hospital but I could not go with her, they wanted me to stay there and just let her father or my sister go. They only called Orillia to ask them if there was any room for me after I told them I was going anyway weather it was in an ambulance or not. I was talked down to and belittled the entire day and they do not have a pediatrician. If anything goes wrong you will end up going to Orillia anyway.
Had to go to Emerg due to chest pains, but the nurse did not know that at first. Took me in right away. I wish I would have taken down her name. Within 10 minutes, I was taken into a room, gowned and looked after. Had blood work done and hooked up to the EKG and talked to a female doctor. She was very thorough, again I did not get her name. Shift change and Ayden was looking after me. I was taken to the xray department for a chest xray. No waiting.. courteous, friendly conversation. Back to my room and Dr. Timothy Redmond looked after me. He did blood work again and another EKG to insure I was not/did not have a heart attack. I cannot thank them enough.. superb service and explained everything in detail to me. We are so fortunate to have such a GREAT hospital and GREAT staff. They deserve a 10 rating.
My grandma is in this hospital and she is in a private room. My left her 30 dollars for things she might need the next day it was stolen same with her hearing aid batteries. No help from staff
Great Co.munity Hospital. Excellent people. #dubh_studio
Extremely long waits despite having an empty waiting room (less than 10 people during the entire visit). Arrived @11:00 (broken foot). It’s 4:00.... haven’t been seen.
4.5 hour wait, still waiting. No guess on when I'll be seen.
I've been to this hospital on several occasions, the first few we're tolerable but the last was the worst experience by far. The "lady" helping us, I think her name was Cheryl Kemsley. She was rude, abrasive and made a racist comment towards me and my husband. We overheard her talking with another colleague and she referred to us as "the Paki's are getting impatient I better get back" We've never been so insulted or treated so poorly in Canada at any health service facility. It's absolutely disgusting that this trashy woman is even allowed to work in any sort of health care.
I was hit by a car five days before i came to this hospital. (I was checked out the day that my accident happened at another hospital). I have a lot of pain in my lower back and neck, and i understand that there are people before me, and i might not be at the top of the list but as i am very sore and unable to lay down properly i have had to stay standing or sitting against the wall. I have been here for 4 hours and still havent been seen by a doctor. Honestly disappointed and very frustrated.
