My husband has been on the palliative care floor for a month and he is surrounded by caring staff. They are constantly looking for ways to make him comfortable. Thank you for your compassion on this last part of his journey.
No idea what the place is like now but when my mom died in 2009 the place was old... Obviously it's an old building but most nurses from what I saw were good on the 6th floor palliative care unit with my mother and when she passed gave us the space we needed to grieve and when I got out of the elevator, I had a group of nurses waiting to tell me and when I was told I instantly dropped and lost my breath...they all made sure to grab me before I hit the floor but that is one night il NEVER forget and the dignity they gave to my family and I. Thank you kindly all staff of the Toronto Grace Hospital for your generosity and compassion that you gave to my mother especially, my family and I. Thank you and God bless ????????????????????????????????
Donations, lotteries, govt support you name it Toronto hospitals get lots of funds to fight diseases like cancer, etc. This place needs $5 each half hour for patients and their families to park their cars,it cuts into these poor souls medication expense, but we know doctors need more $ to treat the ill.
Would be 5 if they didn't make the rules up as they go along and if they actually had a slp that did her job
(Translated) Hello, I visited this hospital, I am very disappointed with the way we care for the patients. At mealtimes, no one wonders if patients can eat for themselves. Staff take their break, no staff in an emergency. Patients eat cold, keep their diaper dirty for hours. I saw, I was there. I cried, so much misery in the same place. I met nice people, but most of the staff didn't care. There is no organization. May God have mercy on those in need. Luise
I wasn't sure what to expect: Grace Hospice has been beyond exceptional. The staff on the 6th floor were without exception genuinely caring and compassionate. The whole team was wonderful, but I particularly want to mention Rama, Casey, Cecilia and Dr Tedesco. The lovely terrace provided a welcome break from time spent in my sister's room. I can't think of a better place for her to have spent the last 6 days of her life. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
This place is a nightmare... it affects a patients mental well being... someone need to be changed maybe the CEO or the nurse coordinator.. the nurses are so aggressive toward their patients.. I didnt believe when my mom told me stories when she was in the hositpal but I saw it with my own eyes yesterday.. lucky my mom is no longer in that facuity, and I wont send my mom back here I would rather wait for another care place...all the nurses on the 5th floor are sooo fake they pretend they are great with their patients and they care but no I saw it with my own 2 eyes.. I didnt believe anyone who told me stories but yesterday I really saw the nurses faces. Nurse Jenny put one patient back to bed and was so aggresstive the patient was yelling "why you rushing take your time and you are hurting my arm",this is not the first time I saw aggresstiviness toward a patient but I saw verbal abuse couple of time but this got to far it need to be addressed come on your a nurse that is your job if you dont like what you do go find another job dont do it for the money you are affect patients mental well being and this lady was a senior who I think had no control over the nurse it was sad another nurse told me vistoring hours are until 9pm where was these rule before just because they dont have an uphand with me they try to kick me out this places so bad.. you have to take action toward your nurses because if society take action this facuitly should be closed because of patient negulated.. night nurse dont even check up on patient and dont care about patient well been.. I really want to take action on this facuilty if it dont change.. and I will check on this facuilty in a week you should really have a meeting with all nurses and tell them to leave whatever bothering them to a side and focus on helping their patients and grow as a team. If you want to contact me message me on the comment below and I would love to step aside and have a meeting with your nurse coordinator and the CEO. other reviewer just wrote comment I want to take action this place need to change..
The staff is kind, friendly and very helpful.

Came back I had a bladder infection this subscribe me to medication went home 2 years back or sat down cause so old ron down what a job you did to make it nice nurses and staff are very nice a lot to eat a lot to drink that made my 5-hour stay wonderful thank you for a good service
Horrifying place for patients and their family. Patients are abused here. ????☹️????
Thank you--Our friend was sent here for rehab then home. Lots of hard work from everyone
My mother lived at the Grace Hospital for a month before she passed in 2000 from metastatic breast cancer. I don't know what the hospital has been like since, but at that time the caregivers did all they could humanly & legally do to ease her suffering and were great with family members.
I cannot begin to express my satisfaction with the staff at Toronto Grace I visited. From the front desk, to the nurses, and the doctor. Each and every one of them was courteous, professional, and made my dad's visit as comfortable as they possibly could. Please forward my thanks on to each and every one of the staff there. Thanks!!
Fire alarms are loud, it is nice to see that everyone is working together in case there is an emergency--a little of organized chaos...cool to watch.. Thanks for cleaning up the parking lot Proud to walk into this place and tell my friends that my family (mom) is here. May be you should make this place bigger...taller
Nurses were behave so careful as if i was one from their family
Fire drill late last night scared the hell out of the patients who were asleep ! Minimal staff on site, no management, what’s up with that? No evacuations! Wtf
All food is prepared outside the hospital. All 3 meals B, L and S arrive frozen. The food is then thawed out in microwaves, later served to their patients. Portions sizes are small and must be consumed within minutes of serving otherwise becomes spoiled .
Please do not bring your loved ones here.
Thanks 5th floor!!! Courteous and helpful!
Everyone but the nurses are helpful. If a patients nurse is on break other nurses will refuse to help them. Some nurses make patients with incontinence problems sit in their own waste for over an hour because according to them the diapers are good for up to 8 hours. However, the PTs, OTs, dieticians, and other staff are all helpful and acomidating to the needs of the patients.
This hospital will be all over the media soon, stay tune.
My love one is at the Grace on Raquel's floor--so very grateful for all that you do--nurses and rehab people--You also had to fix up the hospital because of the wheelchairs hitting the walls. I know it is not our home and you folks do a great job with us. Just to say thank you and grateful for all that you do. Really appreciate it
Fantastic palliative care. My Father-in-law was cared for by the Palliative Care group during the last week of his life. I want to acknowledge how attentive, caring, and personable the staff was. My family and I feel especially fortunate to have had Jennifer, Pamela, and Allison look after my Father-in-law. They ensured that he maintained his dignity throughout, and we are very grateful for that.
Great care, compassionate staff and thank you for enduring COVID-19
Your work is so hard and we appreciate every effort Thank you
My mom was at toronto grace for a while. The nurses were like family . I love them all . The whole team from meal servers to nurses and the volunteers and sharon the minister the best .love from irene O'Toole 's family
My father died on the palliative care floor shortly ago. What an incredibly caring and tuned-in group of people. The environment is one of calm competence and the staff care for the whole family unit. Although we were not there long, thankfully for dad, the staff helped facilitate a peaceful and pain free death for our dear dad. Special shout-out to Barry who is an angel in disguise, Allison who tended mom's injured finger, and Danielle who was so human with us at the end. Thank you for all for being you.
Patient negligence on all levels
Absolutely horrifying experience for the patients and family members.
Staff smiles are always good to see Very open very positive Spoke to your team---The spring cleaning of the room and the added wall protection--Great idea and thank you for listening A little more exterior TLC (parking lot and windows) will go a long way I am proud to be here to be part of all that you do
i see a comment about the horrible food well its a hospital and thats not important to me. important is the way i felt as a patient and that is an easy answer as the word compassion does not exist as i nearly found that most people in this industry that are quality people do this very hard job for the love of helping people and i only seen that in two nurses and felt like cattle waiting to be branded. i have had many tough times in my life but on leaving this place i found it to be a building with no soul to be the saddest time in my life and highly do not believe this place is good for your mental health. its sad to me that this place exist. I HAVE ALWAYS HAD trouble with religion as most of these people do not show me human kindness that lights up a room but leave me feeling empty and most that work this hospital talk about being religious that has no compassion with words they speak,
????????????????????????????????????????????
One week ago today my heart was shattered to a million pieces. Raquel, the 4th floor manager instructed the contractor to teardown my pictures discreetly and deliberately without notifying my family. Pictures of my late mother were disposed into a garbage bag. Holy celebration photos of Baptism and Holy Communion were all torn down before my eyes. My collection of photos brought light into my life after my catastrophic accident, now I stare at a blank wall.
Great personality, good care and just really look after my mom--Just to let you know that she is doing well at home. We were hesitant at first but everyone came through. Please do keep up the great work--
Friendly staff . doing a great job given the constraint from funding...
The atmosphere is calm and the staff amazing. Richard has been there only a few day and already knows the staff. Thank you to all. Jody
Hello to anyone reading - word of caution please do not send your family here as my wife had a traumatic experience here during a time in need. The staff here was abusive and sought to exploit my wife and her vulnerability as an elderly person. Among some of the issues that were noted: Harassment/intimidation: Repeatedly harassed/threatened/yelled-at by nursing staff for questioning status of discharge, wife felt as though she was being held against her will in a rehab facility, and a few nurses were so forceful/aggressive that she felt unsafe in this environment In my opinion - the Government/Ministry of Health should be investigating this facility for malpractice and potential abuse/mistreatment of its patients, it is in the best interest of the safety of the public to do so. Completely unacceptable conduct from a heath-care facility.
Major room renovations, while patients inside room
Thanks to these hard working staff--The place is safe--wonderful group of staff. Chaplains call, social workers and rec therapy connect us with ipads. Kudos for taking on challenging patients and working with us. As a family member, you see they give 110%. Families need to stop being so self-centre especially during a pandemic
Great atmosphere--Staff on 3rd are great! Can't thank you enough...You put in so much for patients and staff--I feel sometimes families don't appreciate what they have---If they want a home, then go home. This is a hospital. Really appreciate all that you do
This place is wonderful and the nurses try their hardest to support the patients. I see a lot of people here complaining about “put your loved ones if you want them dead” it only make you a horrible human trash when you say stuff like that. It was your choice to abandon your loved ones here, it is not the staff or the hospital that has done that. People need to stop complaining about everything and be thankful for the fact there are loving staff that takes care of the patients in here. The staff simply follows the rules of the hospital, if you want to complain, complain about the management. Or take care of your loved ones as they took care of you, instead of tossing them in a rehab clinic.
If you love your lovedones, send them elsewhere, it is a end of life nightmare for patients and family.
Thank you to the entire 5th floor nursing staff caring for my aunt Jenny, when we were not around in this pandemic, you are one of the reason why she made it home well, Let's not forget Jodie Zaltz-Dubin, for helping with the ride, and connecting with PSW she is so polite, Dr.Rush, dietitian, pharmacist and PSW staff.
Excellent service with professional Nurses
I could write a book, everything is wrong here. Five star ratings are fake . This hospital needs to be investigated undercovered. From the Finance Department to CEO
