Wait time is horrendous it's not even worth going.

Went in with foreign particle in my eye. Was taken in and seen within 2hrs. The triage nurse was kind and showed compassion for my discomfort. The doctor was wonderful (I wish I knew his name to reference) super gentle, understanding of my fear of having my eye scraped, compassionate and took the time it needed to get it done. (I also believe he was already finished his shift) best service I have ever had in any hospital. Thank you to all the caring dedicated staff!

sullysboy

not bad just a hospital for anyone to go too that are really sick or to get things done.

Never authorized an appointment, they tell me about it the day before, I tell them no I can't go, they charge me $50 and threaten me with collection agency. Terribly managed

They couldn’t find the cancer of my baby nephew. They’re not really qualified. Or maybe it’s just the hospital don’t have the materials which needs to be done. I mean we had to go to Montreal to know his cancer.

Wait time is 1-4 hours...

It's hit and miss, I've been there and waited in excruciating pain, only to see other ppl go ahead of me. I've left there in tears, frustrated and no answers.

The doctors are friendly, bilingual, and do what they can to help you out. Definitely the best hospital in the area.

(Translated) For the 2 years that I have lived there ... I had a good service at the hospital ... apart from the secretary of the doctor surgeon Jeffrey ... who must be retired at times. Was there past this Wednesday. There were 4 people in the E. R. not including myself. I was there for more than 7 hours only to find they didn't have the medicine I needed, in which they've always had before. Was told to return with the medicine and have it administered. I returned only to have them make me wait another 4 hours, just for a 2 minute injection. This is quite typical.

Everyone was so nice and helpful. The nurses, cleaning staff, and all others made my stay a pleasant one. When I was going home those that were on duty all said good bye and wished me the best. The physiotherapist helped me so much to manage my pain. The nurses didn't mind answering my questions. The ones from the lab who took blood were also nice. The cleaning staff were friendly. I got so much help here. I wish I could name everyone who made my stay so pleasant. My stay at the hospital was enjoyable and I got the help I needed. They also gave my a folder with information for services available in the area and a lot of other useful information. Even the food was quite nice. I have no complaints, just praise for this hospital and their staff.

I was working in the area a few years ago and found out there are no walk in clinics. I have an extensive medical history having survived cancer in my mid twenties and am now prone to lung infections. I felt I couldn’t breathe very well and had just gotten over a fairly bad cold, so i went to the ER to make sure i didn’t have pneumonia. I explained about 4 times i was there because there are zero places to receive medical treatment if you’re not a resident with a family doctor. I also told the doctor when i saw him about my history and my concern i may have pneumonia. He was upset that i considered pneumonia a reason to visit the er versus seeing no doctor at all and that i smoked at the time, mentioned it could be copd. I had to ask for some science to take place and he begrudgingly ordered an xray instead of just guessing with no testing. after getting my xray he said its not pneumonia, gave me nothing at all and when I complained wrote a script for a puffer. I asked if there was anywhere to fill the script that night because it was now 1am. He said no. I dropped it on the ground and left. I think he felt he was making a point, and honestly- he did. Don’t get healthcare at a hospital that can’t attract skilled professionals.

i went in with a bad uti, and explained to them i was in a great amount of pain. they took a sample at around 12:45 when i saw the triage nurse, then i waited for around 6 hours (mind you there was two people infront of me when i came) i ended up leaving because i was getting very upset and i was very tired of seeing people who came in hours after me get a room, every time i told them i was in a lot of pain i was brushed off and told to sit down without even being able to finish my sentence. not to mention my boyfriend comes in to bring a cell phone charger and he is waiting to get screened by a young man at the front who is showing another worker at the hospital something on his phone and ignoring that my boyfriend was standing infront of him for a good couple minutes. unbelievable and disgusting service at this hospital

My mother (69 years of age) was suddenly downed by extreme pain and barley was able to walk without help, so I called an ambulance to bring her to the hospital. They left my mother completely alone for two hours in a room, she really had to use the bathroom but was in too much pain to move by herself. All the people there were careless, irresponsible people who expected my mom to walk all the way to the bathroom on her own despite her extreme pain. She had to literally ask someone to bring a wheel chair and push her to a bathroom, but was left part way at the pop machine so she had to get up and go to the bathroom NO HELP. After all that, they gave her a needle and a single pill to take- then told her to go home, not even helping her to the curb to wait for her ride. All the staff proved tonight that they don't even know what they're doing and have no care for their patients, thanks for NOTHING.

If your going to complain about waiting well I am from Niagara Falls. you think you have a long wait there that's incredible because it's like that everywhere. Maybe people can just pay for their FREE OHIP. Even. In the US where if your lucky enough to afford one nights stay at the hospital your going to be waiting in a room with over 30 people ahead of you. People say understaffed. Complain to the government to invest more of our tax dollars to staff it better than. You don't see how truly lucky we are to get free health care. My father moved up to Cobalt. From a peaceful nice town of Fort Erie Niagara. When I left the Golden Horseshoe to come here it was beyond a shock. I felt like I was in another country. It's freezing cold up here and in October November it's as cold as Niagara gets all winter. To my point. My father moved here and I came, eft everyone I knew, even my girlfriend if 4 years. I was obvious to the fact he was hiding a secret. He wanted us up here for a better life. He had stage four terminal cancer and I thought he was just 70 getting old. He died horribly. But you know what. That hospital had a nice Palapative care unit. 2 awesome young nurses wete by my father's side for those last two months and they did such an amazing job taking care of my father that their going to be saints if they continue the work. He couldn't move the last month cancer is beyond insane. It destroys you to the core and he couldn't move. All we could do was rub his lips with a wry sponge because he couldn't est anymore and placing a feeding tube wouldn't work it would just go right through him nothing was functioning his eyes only did he spoke to me by blinking. While 7 years ago my mother was dying at the Welland hospital and we pressed the button over and ovet but no one came. I had to run and get someone from the 6th floor to 5hr first screaming my mom's dying. Instead of complaining about service, fix it. Instead of complaining about immigrants and how is Canadians don't get what we should but they do. Find a in between. There's no compromises anymore. You all know how stressed the health care system is. So tell me this you rather wait one to 3 hours for help for free? Or be in the states and edit 2 to 3 hours and if you don't have health insurance your paying a good 2 to 3 grand a night. That's just one night. No one likes to wait but raising minimum wage to what is it now 14.50? People go to college and start their careers making that. While people who. Failed at life get free schooling. Welfare, drug counciling, councilors. Our society is highly broken but wait sorry I forgot. No one cares cause it takes too long 5o get health care. Instead of rsnting about it. Call you local MP and start a position. Do something about it. Find a middle ground. These people work as hard as they can, front desk people are usually always grumpy no matter what but the doctors and nurses try hard. In many hospitals accept the two I have been too and mentioned. They use us 60 percent of us is on some sort of prescription pill. That's expensive. But ironony is so stupid that if I sold some let's say I could make morphine and sold it. I'd go to prison. The government can sell it and get us all addicted it's like they want that 6k be so. Everyone's glued to their phones today. Theirs no family values anymore. Faith and Religion is laughed at and I'm telling you one day a comet is going to just turn towards us to end it all because once theirs no more good people like those nurses who tried so hard for my father. once theirs no faith in a higher being. Do you honestly think we just appeared here. Out of 2 to 3 TRILLION Sperm you made it. living is a lottery. No one cares tho they don't even care about themselves. So when were dying do you think that's it. Nothing. We evolve like a cacoon go a butterfly. Their world becomes a shell than they see everything how amazing is that. The earth is alive and breathing but no one thinks that. So instead of just arguing over n over do something about it. 1 man or woman can change the world. Speak up dont wine

Wait times? Try Toronto where we live. In some cases it would almost be faster to do the 6h drive here than do a Toronto emergency visit. Have taken my children, my wife and friends and we found friendly helpful staff every visit. In Toronto a wait of 8 or 9 hours if you need a CT or ultrasound is pretty normal. I don't think we ever waited that long even with an ultrasound, maybe 4h - I'm ok with that.

I find the medical staff are excellent. Very busy

I took my husband to the emergency last January and was lucky to have compassionate nurses that helped him when he started bleeding heavily. Everybody was super from the nurses, doctor, anesthesiologist to the cleaning staff. The nurses stayed past their quitting time to make sure my husband"s problem was looked after before he went to the OR. We are lucky here in the north to have such a great facility that we can count on in emergencies, or just for doctor appointments.

I took my 95 year old father to the ER for breathing issues. The staff and emergency doctor couldn't have been more helpful. They decided to admit him. The week he was there, he was under the care of Dr Davies, who is a wonderful doctor. He takes the time to phone and update you in plain English. The nurses were very attentive and kind. I have nothing bad to say. Even the cleaning staff were lovely.

Jacob Banman

Arrived at 3am, nobody else was in there and I still had to wait 3 hours! Another day I had to wait 8 hours to see a doctor!

Tanya Emmell

The Dr. was great and the nursing staff is awesome

Waited over 7 hours to see a Dr. Was told they were "too busy". Left hospital without seeing a physician.

Not like there is choice in Hospitals so ratings are kinda moot point. Todays visit was as expected. The Covid protocols were fast and efficient.
