I'm honestly more disappointed than I've ever been in any doctor. Dr. Tomescu has an astounding lack of compassion for my condition and even seemed annoyed to see me at my last visit. I've been waiting for 4 months for an MRI because the request was not submitted properly on TWO separate occasions. I've been in constant, horrible pain since my knee surgeries with Dr. Cameron over 11 years ago and I'm just looking for answers and some help. I've had at least 3 appointments with him over a period of 10 months and I'm still exactly where I started. It's heartbreaking, really.

I went with my mother to see an occupational therapist. The therapist was incredibly rude, condescending and dismissive of my mother's pain. I have never seen any health care professional lack so much empathy. Avoid care at this location.

I came from the Kitchener Waterloo Area. Dr Ravi was recommended to me from someone local who wanted to get in quicker then the 2 year wait in KW. From the very first time I arrived at Sunnybrook Holland Clinic, the staff were compassionate and friendly. It was obvious they LOVED their jobs. Once a date was booked, I was called in for Pre Op. The process was SO efficient and precise. No waiting in lines for blood work or X-Rays. The team worked together to ensure a smooth process and were extremely detailed in explaining the process and had a ton of documentation to read up on. On surgery day, I felt like I was the only patient with the detail of explaining and caring for me from the the intake nurse to surgical staff to the Post operating care and next day Physio. I felt so good the day after, I walked stairs and went home. On my 6 week follow up I booked my 2nd hip which is now completed. ALL THEY DO are Hips, Knees and Shoulders. They truly are the best. Dr Ravi and his kind sense of humor and bedside manners made you feel important, not just a patient.

Very rude scheduling staff. I work night shift and have been here twice and they have accommodated my time of day. This woman was rude and said "It's not about you" and when trying to tell her that there is a note on my file and they've done this before she was dismissive and told me she is reporting me to management and I can deal with them. Terrible people skills.

Absolutely the best place to go to for a knee replacement. Liked it so much the first time around, am going again to get the other knee done. Nursing staff were awesome, quick, attentive, and always friendly. Food was very good as well. My surgeon, Dr. Wright did an amazing job, and is highly recommended !! April 2016, Dr Wright replaced the other knee. Once again, a completely successful operation, with outstanding care by the nursing staff. Attended physio in Mississauga, and without exception, my recovery was faster, and easier than anyone I talked to, that had their surgery done in general hospitals. To me, it's clear, for superior results, go to a specialty clinic, and Holland is the one for knee and hip replacements.

If you are sent as a injured worker to be assessed by the WSIB make sure you take a friend. They will say you are fine when you are NOT!

My mother had a knee replacement surgery at the Scarborough Centenary by another surgeon, which was complicated by post-op fracture (very complicated and rare kind)!! It was only Dr. Ravi and his team who were able to fix this mess! The process to see him was very easy, thanks to his assistant, Ms. Maria! He is an extremely knowledgeable, compassionate and skilled surgeon. Given the complexity/urgency of the knee revision, he even pull a few strings to have my mother’s surgery a week sooner than it was originally planned! The revision surgery went really smooth and thanks to Dr. Ravi, my mom is able to walk again without any cane/walker! Dr Ravi, without a doubt has the best bedside manner of any orthopedic surgeon that I have came across. I am a family physician myself and have met many during my career. I highly recommend Dr. Ravi to anyone looking for a knee or hip replacement!

Hips are typically supposed to last 10-15 years. I had my 1st one in 1997 which was performed by DR. John Cameron. I was very impressed and that hip lasted 26 years. Dr Cameron has retired, but before he left, he made sure that my care was handed over to a new doctor. Dr. Beeshma Ravi just did my Total Hip Revision and again I have nothing but praise for this establishment. Everyone on the surgical teams and the nurses and support staff are terrific. Should you be referred here, have no fear. These folks really know what they are doing.

I had a total hip replacement Feb 8,2018 The surgery went well and then everything went downhill from there..I told them I was hypersensitive to pain meds and they still gave me all the pain meds they give to everyone I ended up in their special care unit and they still didn't stop the pain meds..thought I had a stroke and they never called my daughter to let her know..speech slurred so couldn't talk to her..once back in a regular room 5 days later the nursing staff was terrible..One nurse on nights yelled at me because I was up so frequently to go to the bathroom On discharge the nurse didn't know if I had staples or suture She told me staples but once home and took off my bandages I found no staples butdissolvong sutures I am a nurse of 40 yrs and I was appalled at the care I wouldn't go back for further surgery here so need to speak to someone

This is day 11 from having my right knee replaced. I couldn't say more about Dr. Tomescu or the nursing staff at Holland Orthopaedic. The nurses were so caring and efficient. I would never go anywhere else ever again. The wait time for my replacement was less than 6 months from the referral to the actual surgery. 5 Stars for the doctor, nurses and hospital.

My 82 yr old mother had a horrible knee surgery experience here. She was sent home after the staff refused to consider our many requests for convalescent care. My mother was unable to care for herself, handle stairs and her meds. Please ask who your nurses will be, meet them if you can. The ones assigned to my mother were unkind and exhausted. My mother refuses to have her other knee operated on because the experience was so traumatic for her.

Provided options that may be possible for my situation and provided me specific exercises while I await surgery to strengthen surrounding support areas! And what I appreciated most is that they took the time to listen and did not disregard my own detailed health knowledge and detailed questions, as some doctors do.

I had total right hip replacement performed December 17th 2019 by Dr Veronica Wadey. I am a registered nurse (30+ years) who has spent a large portion of my career directing care of post acute care rehab facilities in Texas, answering to the state for any and all deficient practices, in short I am picky. Dr Wadey was efficient thorough and exceeded my expectations in all areas of practice. The building was spotlessly clean and infection control measures were carefully followed. I was treated with respect and kindness throughout each interaction before, during and after my surgery as was my family member. I was highly impressed by the efficient thorough comprehensive systems that have been established and maintained and would highly recommend Holland Orthopedic and Dr Veronica Wadey to my family members and friends. Giving a 5 star rating for this wonderful institution Dr Wadey and staff was easy.

Called to ask about the NIPT for pregnant women, the receptionist told me it costs $1000. My husband checked online on their website, it costs less than $500. The lack of knowledge and accuracy scared me away. Wouldn't want to be a client.

Clumsy, Careless and Condescending Went here for day surgery on my wrist and had the misfortune of encountering nurse “J” in pre-op and recovery She was to insert an IV catheter but when I told her not to use the back of my hand because my veins are small and mobile, she tried to do so anyway. “Oh, she said as she missed the vein, “that’s not going to work” and pulled it out. Off she went to get another catheter and put this one where I had instructed her to – in my inner wrist. By this time I had a huge black bruise on my right hand. Nurse “J” then said she had to go on break. She was replaced by nurse “K”. When I pointed out the clumsy work and resulting injury by nurse “J”, her reply was, “Oh, you got your money’s worth today”. She stuck on a bandage to hide the enlarged vain and most of the bruise. If this is indicative of the quality of nursing skills at Holland Centre then our family dog gets better treatment at the veterinarian clinic. Before I left that day, nurse “J” returned and became very excited when she saw my bandaged wrist from across the room and mistakenly thought the pink tape on the white dressing was blood oozing from the incision. Another nurse had to point out to her it was tape. Inept nursing ability like that demonstrated in day surgery at the end of February is an ongoing threat to patient safety and recovery. But obviously not a concern for Holland Centre management.

I had a left total knee replacement dec 2007,know problems . I am getting a total right knee replacement soon! I feel Blessed to go to this wonderful hospital! I enjoyed the preop again. Everyone is so professional,and caring! They are concerned with each of thier patients health preop and post op. I have had Dr Hugh Cameron do my first Surgury! This time it will be Dr Ravi! They are the most Excellant surgeons! God Bless You All at the Holland Orthapedicsurgeon Hospital! Never be concerned of this hospital,or care!

I recently had a knee replacement. Dr Tomescu and his staff were the best. The hospital nurses put my fears to rest and made me feel comfortable. The students that were training were very compasionate. I highly recommend this hospital. I was out in 3 days and the hospital even called to check on me. They also have a 24hr number you can call with any questions or concerns. I want to give a big THANK YOU to all the staff. I appreciate your kindness and care through my stay.
