Tuesday December 11th 2018 My Girlfriend and i Showed up around 9:45am for a simple xray and sat down waiting till around 11:05am when we were finally allowed to hand in our details and healthcard to figure out the room for her appointment. We placed the info down for her Xray and sat down waiting till 3pm just to finally get into our appointment. Took 4 hours with doctors walking past it to finally except the form. If in serious pain i myself would highly suggest going to another hospital as the wait times are crazy even for those suffering. Staff dont seem to take much of an interest in there patients.

The Labor and Delivery unite is the best! I was treated better then I could have imagined. I honestly felt like the stuff treated me like one of their family members. Exceptional around the clock care. The food was made with love, hot and fresh. The nurse are angels to do what their do for a complete stranger. Even the Anesthesiologist took care of me going as far as to rub my head to make me feel less scared. I would Never have another baby any where else. Will highly recommended Stevenson for L&D. I would like to add I had midwives who took wonderful care of myself and baby girl. Thank you to everyone who took care of us on 11/11/18

Visit was worth the wait knowing that the info i needed was provided by the attending doctor. I understand the priority protocol and i don't have any problem waiting a little bit more. Knowing a person who needed a quick medical attention was prioritized. Amazing front liner, and friendly staff.

I'm not sure what the complaining is about waited about 3 hours for blood work, urine sample, and ct scan. Doctor was super nice wait wasn't long. Went to rvh the other week waited 11 hours to see the doctor and was given the wrong treatment. Stop complaining your hospital gets 15 patients a day compared to over a 100.

If I could give this hospital a zero I would . Worst hospital ever would never EVER go here again. I went there because I got an infection and serve pain from my post surgery I just had 5 days ago. I waited for 6 hours while people with a simple cold were called ahead of me , even some who had just walked in after me . Anyways I left because no one was getting called in and I did not want to die there waiting to seek medical attention. This hospital serious need to be re-evaluate their priorities.

Took my my 9 month old son to the emergency on a Tuesday night as he had a fever of 105. Made us wait upwards of 4 hours to see a Dr!! I understand that it's a small hospital but seriously increase your staffing in the emergency. 1 Doctor to see a whole waiting room is unacceptable....

Staff is clearly trying their best with the resources (albeit limited) that they have. Not a modern hospital by any means but I am happy that there is a hospital located in Alliston. Staff is very professional.

Unfortunately my wife has been here quite a few times this year but she has been treated with kindness and care the doctors and nurses are fantastic its an old outdated hospital but I prefer this little gem over the shinning new cold and non caring RVH that charges a fortune just to park compared to the $7 daily rate you charge hope you get some funding to get some new equipment you truly deserve it and a million thanks for taking such good care of my wife bless you all

Took my newborn son into emergency because he was not eating. He had already been seen by multiple doctors and nurses who all told me I had to work on getting him to feed. The doctor in emergency that night told me right away my son had clef palete and to get to sick kids asap. The doctor and nurse that was there that night saved my son's life, he was dehydrated and losing weight. Thank you so much!

Awful fracture clinic, they tried kicking me out due to my mask not being fully over my nose, even though I have medical reasoning. Dr. Ashesh Kumar barely gave me any information regarding my injury and one of his nurses was extremely rude. Very kind X-Ray staff though but if you've had a fracture, I do not recommend this hospital.

I dropped my husband off at 216 he has a wisdom tooth that was hurt and then turned into infection he needed antibiotics they turned him out less than 45 minutes later with a prescription for pain pills! What the hell! His dentistadentist isn't til Wednesday night so guess we'll come back and try again tomorrow for some ANTIBIOTICS ????? So disappointed in this place

Alliston is growing and the mayor should be ashamed at the facilities provided. Stephenson memorial is outdated, small, wait times are brutal and they are severely understaffed. I would rate a minus if I could. Cause 2.4 out of 5 is a lie. Come new Tecusumseth step it up.

I gave birth here 3 years ago and for the most part it was a positive experience. The complaint I have is the lack of help with the baby afterward. After nearly 24 hours without sleep and having gone through labour and birth and delivering late at night I was exhausted. The baby cried whenever I put him down and I was constantly nursing him. My husband couldn’t stay because of our other children and I was having a lot of trouble staying awake. Finally at about 4 in the morning, the nurse was in the room and could see how much trouble I was having. I asked if it’s possible if they could take the baby for a while because I can no longer stay awake (they had helped me with my babies in the past with no problem at other hospitals). She just coldly shook her head “no” with no explanation. After she left I continued to hold the baby and ended up drifting off to sleep despite my best efforts. Next thing I knew the same nurse was telling me off because we’re not allowed to sleep with the baby in the bed. I felt like I had done this horrible thing, but what did she expect? I think there needs to be more compassion for new moms and an understanding of how exhausted we are just after birth. This trend of getting rid of nurseries is hard on the new mom and can be dangerous for the baby if the mom is falling asleep while holding him or her.

It is a fairly outdated hospital. Whike the staff and everything were very nice, I especially appreciated everyone in the OB GYN clinic where I was for most of my first visit here. The outdoors has a well set up COVID testing station for everyone inside which made me feel great. The building desperately needs to be improved in other regards though structure wise.

I've been here a few times. Hands down the staff (clerks, nurses, technicians and doctors) in emergency are all very nice. They were great and had patience with my baby (only a few days old). I have been for myself during covid and they took really good care of me and as well having to return for a referral the specialist he was very nice and caring. Thank you all

I had my child here in 2018 after my home birth plan wasn't going as planned. I went in with my midwives who were welcomed with open arms and required an emergency C-section. Not only did everything go incredibly smoothly, they were do reassuring and discrete that I wasn't even aware how critical a situation was. The ob who I was given last minute, was incredibly sensitive, reassuring and visited me over the 3 days I was there. I also had 1 nurse throughout and many others who helped when needed. It was like being at the cottage, but sterile! Best experience ever.

Have been here a few times in the years we have lived in the area. Aside from once having a terrible experience with one doctor (he came in with street clothes on, didn't introduce himself and started asking questions but I had no clue who he was... Just thought some random man walked into the room... But that's another story ????????) all other experiences there have gone well. They have always addressed concerns for myself, our kids or my husband. Never been rushed out without feeling like the issue was resolved... And have never had to wait very long. I hope when they get the facility updates they don't lose they small-town appeal they have now. Caring staff is hard to find.

Hi to whom It may concern. I was at the hospital entrance with my sick child, i was told to go to another hospital because they thought my child potentially has covid. We were not allowed to go in, i was told that why would i bring my child in the hospital its dirty and has lots of cases of covid. I had to drive all the way to newmarket to get urgent care, my child was throwing up on the way to hospital i had to drive an hr to get to the hospital. We were neglected at the hospital door also i paid for parking ticket that i didnt even use. I hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else out there

Excellent care and service! My husband was looked after immediately in the emergency department and had all the tests done to determine the problem. They then hospitalized him and did further tests so no complaints here. Even the cook came and asked his preferences in meals. Very impressed.

Altho I am so happy with the birthing unit staff for delivering my healthy baby girl and being rock stars about it, The ER staff is HORRIBLE. They have poor attitude and lack in people skills. I dont know who they think they are talking to with so much attitude. I feel really bad for the elderly or people who don't have anyone to speak up for them.

My wife started having miscarriage symptoms last night. We go to the hospital at 1am. They do bloodwork and after 2 and a half hours they tell her she has to come back between 9 and 10 because there are no imaging staff at night to do an ultrasound. The doctor ensured my wife she would be put in priority since she was seen that night. We come back at 9 this morning. After waiting an hour My wife is told she has to redo the bloodwork and that she will be seen when the imaging tech "has time". After waiting longer My wife is then told that it will be a 6 hour wait for an ultrasound and that because she is only 7 weeks pregnant that miscarriage is common 14 weeks and under and we would have to follow up with our fertility clinic regardless. So we decided to leave as that length of wait is completely unreasonable after being there the night previous and having a doctor tell her her would be a priority. This hospital has no priority or sensitivity towards pregnant women and clearly have zero interest or care for women experiencing a possible miscarriage. I will go out of my way to drive to any other hospital rather than subject my wife to the treatment( or lack there of) at this one again.

I had my Daughter delivered here 2 yesterday and was an incredible experience. I don't know about the rest of the hospital but the maternity ward is outstanding. You can clearly see they are underfunded and required upgrades but the staff of nurses and doctors they have are incredible. I would like to thank Karen specifically for making the experience very special for me. She was very much part of whats going on during delivery and a pleasant vibe to have in room as well. Thank you for caring so much about the well being of my child.

They were great at Stevenson memorial hospital. Not a long wait time. The docter who saw me this evening is the kind of docter every patient wants. He spent time with me Really listening. He didnt rush me at all. He answered my question and gave me some medications. I unfortunateydidnt get his name but he was awesome !! THANK YOU

I initially went to the walk in clinic on the 25th and was told I had a uti after giving a urine sample. I was then prescribed a one time use antibiotic with no success. Approximately two or three days later I decided to go to the emergency room. I was told that I had a kidney infection after a urine sample, bloodwork, and an ultrasound. The doctor prescribed me antibiotics, gave me an anti inflammatory injection (that I am not suppose to take due to a medical condition) and sent me home. I was told to come back in a few days if the antibiotics weren't working and if I was still in pain. I returned to the emergency room two days later and had both my urine and bloodwork repeated. I was told that my urine culture and bloodwork results were normal. I was then told that I didn't have a kidney infection, and that I can do a ct scan. My ct results came back as having a benign tumor in my kidney. I was prescribed an anti inflammatory medication that I can't take due to a medical condition and a muscle relaxant that doesn't work. When I asked about another form of pain management all they said was to follow up with my family doctor. I believe there is something serious going on with my health and all these different results (uti, kidney infection, benign kidney tumor) is all confusing. I want the correct diagnosis and proper treatment, this is so frustrating.

excellent client service! I;m glad I moved here from Brampton. After I got discharged, would you believe the doctor called me to check on me? My husband and I were very impressed! You wont find service like that in Brampton for sure! Yes I I had to wait a bit but guess what it's like that in every hospital. It's about how you are treated when it's your turn to see the doctor.

Recently had surgery here for endometriosis and the day surgery staff were absolutely wonderful, I was very, very scared and they were the most kind and pleasant nursing staff I have ever met. I'm a mother that is dealing with my son's mental health issues and finally a hospital that truly cares about there patients. My son has been basically kicked out of 2 hospitals COLLINGWOOD AND RVH , this is pure discrimination against his illness I should contact OHRC. Regardless, I would like to thank all the staff at Stevenson Memorial for there sincere compassion and understanding of his illness you made my son feel SAFE AND SOUND, and I greatly appreciate all of you. My wife gave birth her second child here. We got excellent treatment and care at that time. The doctors, nurses all are professional and behaves excellent. The hospital is small but their treatment is awesome. Their emergency unit is also well equipped. There is a perception that "small" hospitals have various limitations which you will find absolutely wrong if you visit Stevenson. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐❤❤❤

I was hospitalized here last summer due to dehydration and heat stroke. Given that this is a hospital in Ontario, you're going to end up waiting. The staff however, were top notch. The nurse that drew my blood for the lab was superb, all the other nurses I interacted with were pleasant and kind, and the doctor who saw me was no-nonsense, and to the point. He told me what the lab work showed, what he recommended, and was frighteningly efficient. The hospital itself is small, and does seem to have its fair share of hallway medicine going on, but that can't exactly be faulted given the nature of the hospitals in this province. Excellent nurses and doctors, and a decent little hospital.

The staff are great, but if you think about going here to save time, that it will be a shorter wait than RVH for instance, you are mistaken. Incredibly long wait times for emerge, definitely among the worst in Ontario. Facility is also old, dingy, has bad signage and no food after 2pm other than a vending machine.

BE CAREFUL WITH THIS HOSPITAL!!!! Human rights violations! They make up rules and change them depending on who you are! I watched a newborn mom be turned away from an apt because she brought her newborn baby with her! Where is she suppose to go? Or suppose to take the baby? Newborns drink milk on demand ! What if she is a single mom? No woman wants to leave her newborn with a neighbour. What is wrong with Thai hospital. Go to Newmarket. They would NEVER do this there! Ever!

Just left this hospital. There is not enough words to describe what a pleasure it was being treated here. From the staff at the registration (thank you Jess) to the nurses and the amazingly kind and patient Dr Deboek. They made an uncomfortable time for me and my wife actually positive and light. We were attended to right away, all lab tests were complete within an hour. The Dr took as much time as needed to explain. We would never go to another hospital again. We live next to the the RVH which is unbearable and intolerable. We rather drive 40min to come here. Thank you so much!!

Came at 930 pm to 7 people ahead of us in the waiting room. My daughter aged 13 was vomitting blood. It is now 320 am and we have finally been guided to a gurney in a dirty hallway(at about 12) but nobody has checked on her or anything. Nobodys said a word to us. There is nobody else here. They are laughing and chatting it up in the nurses station. A lady who came in by ambulance about 9 with bad chest pain just walked out and they think thats just fine. She was neglected with chest pain. I get hospitsls are busy right now but literally was 9nly 2 people here for the last 3 hours. Not even a checkin. Also not super clean. Openly mocks you. No compassion.1 star.

I find the wait time depends on each visit, sometimes I've been in and out and other times I have had to wait but thats expected, theres always more patients than staff! Dr Ramirez is a great doctor, he truly cares and doesnt just want you in and out. If Dr Ramirez feels you need x-rays, an ultrasound or whatever else; you will have it done! Ive had other doctors at this hospital not want to give x-rays resulting in me going to a different hospital to then find out there was a break, or an injury, and infact needed surgery.

What a joke this place is. My Son has been there for four hours so far and he is not even in a room yet. On another occassion while I was a Cancer patient 4 years ago I was there waiting for over 2 hours with an oppointment for an ultrasound my appointment was canceled. All while I was waiting to be seen (with an actual appointment). I was told the Technician was at the end of his shift and would nit work beyond his time . Not even for a Cancer patient with a scheduled appointment. This Hospital is an absolute Joke. I guess this is what Socialzed health care gets you!

Several visits now how gone VERY poorly. Unless you're bleeding out and have no other option, choose Headwaters or Southlake. Do not waste your time. ER Drs here seem to think they should be somewhere more prestigious, can't be bothered to take the time to do any testing or be polite enough to hear out a patients concerns before telling them to go fly a kite. A friend went in on recommendation of the family physician, first ER dr chose to be cautious, wrote a prescription and said to return in a certain amount of time if things didn't improve. Second return after prescription finished and condition worse, dr wrote a stronger prescription, said to come back, medical intervention would be needed if no improvement. 3rd trip: Empty ER, Drs and nurses laughing in the hallway, Dr finally comes in and offers to write the same prescription the first visit dr wrote even though condition is 3x worse with no improvement! Dr disappears for almost an hour to write said prescription, could be heard laughing and joking with staff just out of sight. If the hospital is completely outdated that no one wants to act like a real medical professional in it, shut the doors already. Not sure why anyone is sinking money into it. I understand these are "Covid Times" but come on folks, get your act together. Update: Strangest thing. Got a call about an appointment with a surgeon shortly after posting this, so naturally there was some excitement about something finally getting done. Well, that optimism died pretty quick. Turns out some doctor on a previous visit said they had done certain things, which they hadn't... such as an xray, among others, so it seems like the appointment with the surgeon was just to clean up the nonsense they had written in the file, and not to actually provide care. I wonder if the xray and other services previously mentioned in the chart were billed to OHIP. Maybe it is time to call the hospitals patient support now, maybe they can explain how that's not fraud.

I went to Stevenson Memorial Hospital with abdominal pain May 12th. I was extremely overwhelmed as I had to bring my newborn with me and I had never been to the emergency department before. I was triaged quickly and saw the doctor within a reasonable time. Dr. Chubbs was able to squeeze in my ultrasound before the tech went home, which is great because it turns out that I needed an emergency appendectomy. My surgery was completed that night by Dr. Keshoofy with help from Dr. Olpuna. Dr. Tomini did a great job as my anesthesiologist. All of my care team was amazing. Honestly, every single person helped to ease my anxiety. Thank you as well to my nurses in emergency, OR and on the overflow unit. You guys are awesome ❤️

Worst hospital I have ever had to deal with. I understand that people are not allowed in the hospital because of Covid but when a senior is brought in by ambulance and has dementia which they were told so were aware of that. This was 7pm Friday night, phoned at 10pm to see if they had anything to tell family. They needed to redo blood work at 1am which they had taken the blood so I sent my 85 year old father home as he was very tired and I had no where that he could sleep as we had just moved here on Thursday and everything was all over the place. When dad left I went over to the hospital and sat in the parking lot, they finally called me at 3am to tell me they were going to admit her which was fine. Saturday morning I phoned around 9:30 was told her nurse was busy could I call back in an hour, called back in an hour was told her nurse was still busy could I call back in an hour. So then I told them I had already been told that twice and I wasn't pleased with getting the run around from them. Phoned my dad to see if he had heard from anyone at the hospital, which the pharmacist had called because the hospital doesn't carry the insulin that mom is on and asked if we could drop some off so I went over to the hospital and still wasn't allowed to see her and the nurse that was doing the screening called to see if someone could come out and speak with me but no they wouldn't so she ran in and took mom's insulin in she could believe the treatment that my family were receiving so far that nurse was very nice. I went home and later in the afternoon the doctor called he was very nice and brought me up to date. I called after dinner and spoke with her nurse only because she was the one that answered the phone. Sunday morning I called at 9:47 and was put on hold after 15 minutes on hold I called back and spoke with the operator/receptionist and told her what happened she then informed me that she knew all about what happened the day before so I asked for the number of the person for complaints she put me through I left a message so we shall see if she calls me back. I then phoned my dad about all this and told him to phone to see if he could find out how her night went and to see if we needed to drop off clothes for her to have for when we pick her up but of course he was told that her nurse was busy and she would phone him back that was at 10:32 am Sunday morning and the nurse has still not phoned him back and it is now 9:26pm. I called at 8:18pm Sunday night and was told to call back in half an hour as guess what her nurse was busy so I just hung up. The treatment we have received is disgusting. Great welcome moving here makes me feel no confidence in this hospital what so ever and I don't understand how they are still open they need to close it down.

We’ve had some decent experiences here in the past but clearly the last couple of months things have gotten extremely worse (given the reviews). They separate into 2 categories, one fast track path is everyone with minor colds, stubbed toes, etc. They will be looked after quickly. Anything more serious and you go into a category where you wait and wait and wait for a bed. We arrived at 9pm with shortness of breath and chest issues, severe digestive symptoms and have yet to have anything done (or see anyone but a nurse to take BP) and it’s past 3am. The entire waiting room filled and emptied before we were even approached. I’m sorry but the signs say they treat people in need versus arrival which is just not true. If it were, the sniffles would wait 5 hours instead. This is shameful.

Visit today for my 2.5 year old for injury and runny nose, doctor basically said he looks fine and runny nose is no concern …. As the daycare sent him home for the runny nose i requested a covid test and the doctor asked me 3 times in a condescending manner … after which he said he does not know what the hospitals will look like with these new rules and said he would send someone… 30 min past and i left and will now book an appointment for a covid test as i feel if i waited he would have left me there for an hour as he was clearly not happy !!! I can not believe in the middle of a Pandemic our tax dollars go to pay for this!!! I visit a doctor or hospital next to never and i still have to listen to the medical sector crying for more money !!! I recommend sick kids for your children as this place has complete disregard for human life , its definitely worth the drive for our minis

Keep in mind that the doctors and nurses and support staff, all have so many people to deal with, that it's impossible for them to get to you as fsst as you'd like. They aren't doing it on purpose. The WORST hospital ever. I went there with a simple issue and due to their lack of knowledge and creating incisions without understanding what I’m diagnosed with, i now have an extremely complicated health issue. I went back so many times afterwards because I have been bleeding every day from that cut they made for close to two years now. No exaggeration. They brushed me off each time and prescribed antibiotics and said it’s normal and will go away. I knew to my heart something wasn’t right so I went to a different hospital. Due to that incision being made without any knowledge, I now have to undergo 3 surgeries in hope I will be fixed. It spread so deep into my body. Each surgery takes months to heal. I have to wait to heal before doing the next surgery. I have been through so much emotional stress, physical stress, and I’m so fed up. This all could have been avoided if the doctor knew what he was doing and ran tests on me before cutting me. I have proof from other doctors who examined the situation and they said this all happened because of what the first doctor did. This hospital needs to be shut down. I’m definitely getting a lawyer involved. I promise that. I was so nice and patient and each time quietly listened to the bs they were telling me. I put my faith in them and now I’m paying for my kindness. I’m young and can’t do everyday activities for close to two years now. This hospital needs to pay for what was done to me.

I'd like to make a compliment to Stevenson Memorial hospital staff. Yesterday I had to use the emergency for my 17-month-old baby, it was morning hours inside the hospital. But it was not a bad time, it was a quiet time, a lot of attention from the nurses, the doctor, the cleaning lady. Helpful, caring and patient people with me who still do not speak English properly. I want to deeply thank the team that did not answer yesterday. Thank you for your attention, care and patience with my baby and me.

Had a very pleasent visit at SMH, I've been experiencing chest pain and shortness of breath, so I left work to get it checked out. Upon entering, the ladies doing the screening were wonderful. After, I noticed how busy it was in there. Triage was lined up, and those waiting to see a doctor had been there for hours. The security guard that was working, brought more chairs out for those waiting for triage to sit on. There were many mothers and their little ones (I think they were all in strollers, so very young), and they were all checking on each other, offering snacks for each others children, and everyone was chatting. Despite the long wait times, everyone was in good spirits.

I had fallen Saturday and had broken a rib and that rib put a tear in my lung partially collapsing it I went there Saturday night they sent me home wanted me to come back Sunday afternoon and do x-rays again worried about pneumothorax...so I went back Sunday afternoon only waited 2 hours compared to going to Southlake and waiting longer then 2 hours like I had in the past....did the x-rays the doctor decided to call in a general surgeon and they showed up within the hour and did an emergency surgery putting a tube in my lung to drain....I ended up being sent to a room until Tuesday afternoon until they thought it was ok for me to go home...making sure no bubbles in lung....the emergency nurse and doctors were great....and the nursing staff while I was in the hospital were amazing.

Today is the 4th hospital visit in 5 days, after being dismissed twice at Stevenson Hospital in Alliston because my 6 month old Jaxson lungs didn’t have enough crackle and it’s not the season for RSV they figured 2 heavy doses of steroids would be good enough. Yesterday Jaxson was struggling to breath, he was not eating and was even more lethargic. I ended up taking him to RVH where shorty after he tested positive for RSV. RSV can be extremely dangerous to infants. Jaxson is my 3rd child so I do not over react when something is wrong, the fact that Stevenson Hospital not only did no other testing besides an X-ray they didn’t listen to me... they didn’t care he wasn’t eating, had fever, would cough till he choked or went blue, didn’t care he was sucking in his ribs when he breathed and had a high respiratory rate, they didn’t care that the first round of steroids did nothing, that he was getting worse by the minute. I guess their standard of care only matters when the illness is in season (which in fact RSV very much is) and I guess your baby must be blue in the face before they actually do something to help. Their Emergency Department is a joke. The ER Doctor looked so professional in his old warn Adidas hoodie and torn pants never will I go back, the only thing there good for is a bandaid and even then you will wait 6+ hours not to be heard.

Luckily, zero complaints. Showed up in very active labour, rushed to a room and gave birth 20 minutes later. Only met maybe 1 nurse in my 4 hours there and they were very kind. Triage nurses were amazing and so friendly on our way out.

Disgusting!! Doctor's at Stevenson's are too busy gossiping and chasing the nurses to do any real work...and if you ask them for anything they just accuse you of being violent...what a joke....sent me home in agony and told me to call my dr...I couldnt breath deeply or swallow and they sent me home what a waste of time and space!! They are only interested in their paychecks as they certainly weren't interested in finding out what was wrong with me...they couldn't even get an IV in after two tries she gave up!!! I had to tell the doctor to look in my throat after being there for two hours...funny how they had no problem giving me drugs even though they didn't know what was wrong!! I will passionately refer anyone and everyone to go somewhere else it may save your life...no more from me no support or referrals plus I will be sharing with anyone and everyone even OHIP!!

My experience on June 8th was the worst hospital experience that I have ever had. My husband and I were in town visiting family for Rib Feast . I went to emerge around 8 pm because I was experiencing a reoccurring chronic attack in the upper chest cavity . The nurses that were working that night were rude mean and had no compassion . I was vomiting and had severe diarrhea and in a crazy amount of pain and they didn't care . I waited over 4 hours of excruciating pain and laying in my husband's lap in the emergency room and then another 2 hours before I received any help . I got accused by the attending nurse of being a drug addict. she implied that my pain was withdrawal symptoms . The room that they put me in had no running water in the bath room , every time I had diarrhea or vomited I couldn't wash my hands or anything else . After finely seeing the Dr and finaly getting some pain relief ( dilaudid ) they decided that would be a good time for me to walk bare footed to get an X-ray and that now would be a good time to take blood and do a urine test ... I am a 50 year old decent hard working grandmother with a reoccurring possible gallblatter desease that I'm working with a specialist in Hamilton to find the problem. I can't believe the terrible nasty treatment that I got at this hospital by the nurses Friday night . I hope that someone looks into this because what I experienced with the staff and this hospital was down right disgusting.

Thank you to all the staff in emergency and to Dr Scheeres for the amazing care and support, and for making myself and daughter feel safe and comfortable during a scary situation. We drove in Saturday afternoon, my daughter had abdominal pain, we got in right away, the Doctors and nurses got everything going with all the test, she ended up having emergency surgery that night, still not out of the woods yet, but she's home in her own bed tonight

After sitting and waiting 5 hours for a doctor he would not look at my ankle or knee that is hurting. I get sent to xray then wait again for the doctor to tell me I don't know what is wrong. He said he was sending a referral for another department but flagged it not important so wait for a couple of months. Mean while I can walk and the pain is something else. I work on my feet all day and I can't do that now. The doctor blew me off like I didn't matter. This hospital disrespects young adults all the time.

Stevenson Memorial Hospital is the closest hospital within a 50km radius of where i reside. I am convinced the only reason this hospital is still open, is out if necessity. The staff are disrespectful, uneducated, and in my opinion, could make better use of their work hours actually providing care for patients instead of sitting in their office areas talking about their personal lives, and who won the hockey game. I went to this hospital, with a kidney failure, which their “best doctor” failed to diagnose—and was given an intramuscular morphine injection as “pain management” before they sent me home; without running tests. Needless to say, the MORPHINE injection, did absolutely nothing to ease the pain I was in, and instead caused me excruciating pain at the site of the injection. It has been OVER A YEAR, and I am still suffering in agony from this hospital visit. I DO NOT trust the doctors. I DO NOT trust the nurses. And I AM DISGUSTED by the lack of compassion and empathy shown toward the patients here. My best recommendation, travel the distance, and wait the necessary amount of time to see a REAL DOCTOR.

I have no complaint except on the weekend we don't know what we are up against. Ultrasound was closed, it opens from Monday to Friday. All the staff were nice and the doctor as well. I have read many complaints, it is not the hospital. In this world wherever we go there are kind and miserable staff that we have to deal with. Saturday night, there were 2 critical people that took much longer that I would have like to. When I went back on Monday, in 30 minutes it was done and the staff was pleasant.

I don't understand why a hospital wouldn't let someone where a prepackaged 3m n95 masks to wear instead of there own. They know darn well that it's the best protection against covid and their staff are wearing it yet if a patient brings one to put on and take out of the package in front of them and put on they won't allow it amd insist you wear just a surgical mask. I have refused medical attention on this basis because I am afraid to bring the virus back home to my family, yet I know I need to visit the ER.

Had to take my son here. The waiting room was absolutely filthy and the cleaning person shuffled around wiping everything down with the same wipe and pushing a disgusting mop around the floor. When my son was finally called ( after an hour and we were the only ones in the waiting room) we were literally watching the nurses and doctor chat and laugh at the triage desk. There were no other patients so I guess we weren't important enough to interrupt their good time. I hope to never have to come here again.

It was suggested that because this a smaller hospital than ie southlake I would receive faster service. After waiting 2 hrs and 20 minutes with no doctor in sight I asked a lady in the next room and she had been waiting 3 hrs without seeing a doctor. We were in the emergency area. I don't understand why the nurse whom was surprised my doctor had even sent me to a hospital couldn't tell me you may be waiting at least 3 hrs. I can only hope I never have to visit this hospital again.In Southlake newmarket you are in and out in 2 hrs with friendly service. You certainly feel more like a somebody. I would have thought the staff at Stephenson would have been friendlier considering its in a.small town.

Dropped my 26 yr old son off at emerg for a bad knee injury. They took him in by wheelchair. He had xrays which showed no fracture. They told him he needed an mri and said to make appt with doctor to get a requisition for the mri. Doctor at hospital also told him he would be able to walk in it as it was a minor injury. When he tried to walk on it for them his knee wanted to turn inward. They sent him home with a tensor bandage. No prescription for pain or inflammation. I went to pick him up and he was literally standing on one leg waiting out front. No wheelchair. Sad commentary on our hospital.

Doctors and nurses stand around talking while the waiting room is full I have had a few visits to this hospital in the past few month . And every time I come in here its the same storey if I had a car I would be driving to Orangeville or Barrie to a proper emergency room I would not recomend this hospital to anyone unless it was there only option

Went into emerge at about 430pm Tuesday and and was out in an hr. Must have been one of the lucky ones to go just at the right time. The lady that you first see to do blood pressure etc could use some bedside manners, but the registration nurse was lovely. I saw Dr. Ramirez and he was great! Answered my questions and was very knowledgeable. It is quite an old hospital amd could Def use some updating, but I'll take an older hospital, over rudeness and 7 hr wait from RVH anyday.

Sadly I spent a great deal of hours here recently. I had an incredible experience. The nurses were caring, warm, friendly and helpful as were lab technicians. I'm so grateful to each of you for your kindness and support. A special shout out to Dr. Safar, he literally changed the quality of my life with a very simple procedure. I was received at the emergency department with T.I.A..suspected and placed on stretcher and made comfortable.since there was no space available in of the three rooms, I was placed in the corridor, which was more convenient and more interesting for me.The service and ministrations were applied by very friendly nurses and doctors. Being placed in the corridor meant that there was a constant movement of staff past my bed, but everyone made eye contact ,a smile or a small wave, which made my stay a good experience. I hope this mindset will remain in the future when SMH will get bigger. This Hospital may be small but it is a treasure.Thank you

I went to Stevenson a couple nights ago for a severe migraine. I have suffered from migraines for almost 30 years now and this was the first one that's ever brought me to emerge. I was very concerned that I wouldn't be taken seriously for a migraine. Every nurse I interacted with was kind and understanding, the doctor who came in to see me was extremely helpful. I have been to emergency rooms that were far busier than this and I would say they were definitely steady. Though I was still in and out the doors within 3 hours and about 80% relief with the remainder being gone by morning. This was my first time going to Stevenson and I would definitely go back if there was ever a need.

Dr. Pierre Ozon did not give me any sort of time, he just gave me pills for my "UTI" (wasn't a UTI), and cream for fungus on the private area, which also was not useful because I didn't have that issue either. The antibiotic gave me a bad reaction, and more problems. I explained my situation thoroughly, but was given no time. Anyways, it wasn't a surprise - I've been treated this way at all of Barrie's hospitals. If you need urgent healthcare and you are a coloured individual, please leave the Central Ontario area and go to Toronto. I understand this community is predominantly white, but you can not neglect people's health just because of the way someone looks. You are Healthcare professionals and you're supposed to help everyone, not just white people. DO NOT MOVE TO CENTRAL ONTARIO IF YOU ARE COLOURED! YOUR HEALTH WILL BE NEGLECTED.

Other than Brampton civic hospital this is the slowest hospital in the country, under staffed and everyone that works here looks miserable and acts the same way as well, would rather drive to another hospital and at least be seen within 5 hours

Terrible hospital if you go to the ER. I could have used Google, and been a better nurse or doctor there. They need to rehire all their staff with decent compassionate people with iPads. At least they could watch a Youtube video or Google symptoms and remedies. They can't diagnose simple issues, you are risking death by going there. Drive the 1hr, wait 3 hrs in emergency, and head to Credit Valley or Trillium in Mississauga. At least you're waiting for good Doctors.

A longtime family friend passed away recently due to complications of surgery here. NEVER have surgery here!! EVER!! The aftercare was very poor and non existent. The poor man did not get out of bed and after day 5, he was still lying in bed. The nurses treated him poorly and he was over sedated with pain meds. Sadly this man aspirated after choking on his own vomit. For some unknown reason it took them 15 mins to revive him??? It was too late by then ???? How the hell does this happen to a relatively healthy man??? He also ended up with pneumonia as a result of not getting out of bed. The evening he passed, his children were called four hours later after them visiting him, saying their dad was in cardiac arrest. Cardiac arrest after choking on his vomit??? What? How did this happen?? The family should have sued this place but that still wouldn't bring their father back. But so as this doesn't happen to others, they are still considering a lawsuit or in the process of setting up a meeting and inquiry with this hospital. It's sad that his family and friends don't get to enjoy more time with their friend/Dad who was 79, and would have turned 80 in May. Instead of planning an 80th birthday party for their dad, they are now planning a celebration of life. He certainly was healthy enough to enjoy at least another 5 or more years of quality living. And the sad thing is, this man also volunteered out of the goodness of his heart at this hospital and thought a lot of it. A hospital that let him down and cost him his life!! As someone who works in healthcare, I know all too well there is a great shortage of nurses, but there is still no excuse as to why this happened. I'm shocked, saddened and appalled!! This never should have happened! What this man died from was hospital negligence!! The only reason I gave this hospital a star at all, is that I had to give something in order to write the review, otherwise it should get zero stars in this sad case!!

I have been bleeding from my rectum for 4 days. I finally decide to go to emergency. I cannot sit, lay, or even stand for that matter becauae of the preasure. 4 hours later I am put in a room. 6 hours later I decide I need to leave because the pain is so unbareable, I would rather try soaking in a hot tub, and whatever else might ease the pressure. The nurse says " no, do not go, I am getting you an IV and pain meds now. 45 minutes later, she has gone home and the other nurses could care leas. Never did see a doctor. I will NEVER go to a hospital again. Last time I was in an ER, I sat on a fractured spine, in a whewlchair for 7 hours... no doctor, no nurse, no nothing.
