This Hospital corresponds to the category of General hospital.
The emergency staff were very kind and helpful when I had to take my wife in, unfortunately they are not well-equipped on some particular items that were required.
Terrible time management. First time the hospital was very quite and waited four hours with a broken wrist and then they told me it wasn’t broken. Had to go to another hospital to be diagnosed properly. 2nd time waited five hours and had everyone else pushed ahead when the hospital was very quite agin. Strongly advise to go to different hospital.
Can you imagine - after waiting all these months with Covid lock down - now a technician is sick so all imaging is getting pushed back 19 days. How is there not a group of people qualified that are part time going to different hospitals. They do it for school teachers - spare it is called. How can this not be available for hospitals or clinics? Honestly the world is so broken starting with Hospitals - not impressed! Small town hospital should have to service their people properly not like a restaurant. NO a restaurant would call in someone to replace the person who is scheduled off sick for an extended amount of time. Simply unimpressive. Sorry.
Went for a scan, they took me a few minutes early, the tech was very kind and professional...The secretaries, prompt and efficient..A special "Thank you" to Darlene for getting me in on a cancellation..You guys are great..
Our entire family has benefited over the years from the care of the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital. From one child breaking out in blisters (allergic reaction), the other having fever (tonsils), to my Mom (broken hip from fall) to my husband (heart attack), to my Mother-In-Law (admitted to hospital during a visit with us for observation).... thank you to ALL the staff at Uxbridge Cottage Hospital. This hospital is a jewel in the heart of our town. Gift shop is incredible too!
Super quiet here today! Great quick service. Clean. Lots of parking!
One of the worst triage departments ever. Walked in with a mouth infection and waited over four hours while they took less urgent patients before us. But yet the mouth infection classified as an urgent issue. Never come here
Fast, friendly, very helpful and clean!
Every member of our family has had to visit the emergency room, and/or imaging, at one time or another. We are always grateful for how caring and thorough the staff are.
Just had an emergency visit, staff was delightful, professional, and efficient. The doctor went to lengths to find an answer. The wait time was extremely quick, (not too busy) I would definitely recommend.
Friendly and well educated staff. Smaller hospital. Smaller workforce.
Hey UCH staff! Thanks for taking such good care of our office manager!
UCH is awesome! I have to say going to this hospital was the best experience I've had in a LONG time. Every other Doctor's office/walk in clinic/ hospital I've been to just dismissed me and my health issues. UCH was the first to actually listen to me and take the time (3 trips there) to get me answers. I'm not "healed", but I at least know what is wrong with me and am working on a treatment plan now. I highly recommend UCH to everyone! Everyone from triage to doctors are great! Keep up the amazing work UCH
from someone who is used to going to hospitals in Toronto, I had a great encounter here. Treated me like a person and not a number, had me in and out in no time
Very inadequate care. Very mean nurses that did not appear to care for their patients nor families. Nurses were passive aggressive and did not check up on their patients to ensure safety. Very alarmed for anyone who has to stay here for a long period.
I would avoid ever going to this hospital for any serious issues. I was completely ignored and mistreated even though my issue was life threatening. I'm just happy I survived my stay there and grateful they transferred me to Markham stouffville where I received proper and professional attention. I would like to say they did there best but that is far from the truth. From the time I arrived by ambulance to the last smart ass comment two days later as i was being transferred by ambulance i was treated sort of like cooking pasta. Check on it once and a while and try not to overcook it. If you cut your finger and need a bandage go there. If your issue is more serious then go to a real hospital.
Your hospital is a disgrace. The way I have been treated there and wrongly diagnosed as well as told false information about medication that landed me in a coma is gross. The way you treat my family as patients and as family when I myself am in there or another member is wrong. You deserve to be shut down completely or smarten up.
The absolute worst hospital. I came in with head trauma...I had a moving trolley fall on the back of my head while I was bending over. The trolley hit me at the base of my skull, top of my neck. I am now sitting in a waiting room for over 4 hours and still have not been checked by anyone, doctor or nurse. I was given a neck brace and was told it was mandatory to wear. No one even checked to see where the swelling was, and the top of the brace was pushing right on it. Useless, and so is the hospital
If I could give this less than a 1 I would. This by far is the worst hospital I have ever been to. The intake nurse is extremely rude and so are the doctors. I understand waiting 5 hours, that's not what I'm upset about. I was upset when one of the nurses went to the washroom and the intake nurse told her to not make eye contact with the people in the waiting room and to keep her head down. I was in with my husband who was in so much pain every time he stood up he had to stay lying down, when we went in the car he would vomit. I tried to explain to the nurse what was happening, she told me if I don't stop talking she would kick me out of the hospital. She stood between myself and my husband and the doctor to ensure I was not a part of the conversation. We were told by the nurse that my husband has depression, she recommended a book and said to try to get out of bed more. I was so frustrated we went to North York General, they listened, did some tests and discovered my husband had a brain bleed caused by a puncture to his spinal cord, he required 2 spinal procedures and a 6 day stay in the hospital.
Went in for a scheduled test and also had some ex-rays done that were added on. I was in and out in 25 minutes for both items. They always seem to be running on time and I never have to wait for my appointments. I love this place!
I live in this small community. My husband saught out emergency services due to a possible hamstring tear. He was triaged then sent for xrays and cat scan No one accompanied him to diagnostic imaging. They asked him if he wanted a wheelchair. He said that would be great. They pushed one down the hall to him. He got in it and went to diagnostics. Sitting in the chair he couldn't really see the receptionist nor reach is health card in the pocket So he went to stand up. Leg can't support the weight and never having used a wheelchair before, he went to stand up and the chair rolled back away from him, causing him to fall. He has a nasty bruise on his side. Now in addition to the full leg bruise of his hamstring. The receptionist was horrified. That's when nurses finally appeared. That was when I guess social distance wasn't as important as a patient. This is a hospital. Social distance should not be the main concern while working there. I am really sad that this has occurred. I myself was in isolation for 5 days in early January 2020 at the uxbridge site and amgrateful and thankful for the excellent care I received during my stay.
If there is a 0 star, we will provide that what this hospital diserve!. trying to get hold of Markham hospital for an Ultrasound appointment for our son (8year old) and trying to get hold of the booking line monday to friday during the operations hours and it took us 8 days continues trying to get some on online. Then we were advised to request the doctor/clinic to send the Ultrasound request directly to the fax number and call back after 2 days. followed the request and try to reach the booking line again after 2 days and still no one available, it took 4 days to get someone again and the person advised they couldnt find the fax from the clinic as i sould call within 48 hours of faxing the request from the doctor!! which obviously we cant get hold of anyone from this booking line anyway!!. This explaines that its impossible to get an appointment?
5 hour wait for broken foot. Extremely slow and understaffed. Doctor was great once we got in.
Please do not go to this hospital it will genuinely waste your time. I was bleeding out literally an I waited for over 5 hours. This hospital is a joke. It needs to be shut down.
Waited and waited all the nurses and Dr walking in circles wasting our tax payers money
I would give it negative 100 or more if I could. I had my love one in the hospital. I kept on complaining that he had infection. A few days later he was sent home. I had to a few days later call for an ambulance to him back. Unfortunately it was to late. They finally did test however it was to late. He died the next day after bringing him in. You guess it he had not just one infection but 3. If only they had listen to me ealing. So if you love you love one or friend don't tale them to Uxbridge hospital. Especially if you want your love one to live.????
Terrible waiting too long. They need more staff to service the community. Only 10 potion to look after and the waiting time is over 4 hours.
Terrible hospital , the emergency staff are very rude and unhelpful I would not recommend this hospital to anyone
On a whim - took my little one there instead of Markham Stoufville as it had a shorter wait time. We we’re seen in 5 minutes. Did all the major work up (blood, X-rays, IV) within 20 minutes, and the nurses were very caring with my little guy. Even gave him popsicles. Only down side is they don’t have a paediatric team on site so we were transferred to Markham by ambulance. We did get a bed right away so again nothing but positive things to say about our experience
Doctor and nurses on staff are extremely helpful
Not too busy, despite staff complaining it was busy(i saw a whole 4 people). The doctor wasn't the nicest, repeated telling me to go to my family doctor. If you read the registration, you'd know i don't have one and i am only here because i'm in pain. Not impressed
By far the worst hospital I think I have ever set foot in. A couple years ago I brought my 2 year old daughterr there who was having seizures and we waited 7 hrs to be seen even though she came by ambulance. I was at the hospital today due to a reaction to sulfa based antibiotics (which was later confirmed after discussion with a pharmacist) and was told that my situation was not a reaction to the medication but that it was a panic attack?? How about asking if I have had a history of it, because I don't. Or ask if I am currently taking anything to deal with anxiety, because that is also a no. Or ask what I was doing or what was going on in my day at the time it started? I was at work for a very quiet chill morning today. Every time I have taken a dose since Monday the symptoms were constantly worsening and then I took a dose at 10:30 am and within an hour my vision is blurred to the point I can't read my screen, my chest pounding, eyes are beet red and feel like they are on fire, eye lids swollen, throat is burning and hard to breathe and start passing out.....what an absolute joke of a hospital. I would have been better off if the ambulance had dropped me off at the drug store where the pharmacist confirmed the reaction to the medication and didn't brush it off like no big deal you're just crazy. I will say thank you for giving me a new prescription so I could then meet with the pharmacist and get the answers I should have gotten at the hospital.
Was in from emerge and being seen within 20 minutes. All the nursing staff I dealt with were so beyond friendly and helpful. The doctor and the ultrasound tech were very nice as well. 10/10 would recommend. This hospital is about the same distance from my house (in another direction) as the major hospital in the general area. Night and day difference in how you're treated. Will never go to the other hospital again.
Nothing is taken seriously here
I Thank God for all of you and your help, you were a blessing to me Chaplain Nat
While waiting in Emergency the security guy had friends and was yapping non-stop. People are sick and the security guy was suppose to be working. Social hour is after your shift.
Nightmare experience here where they sent me for several stressful and unnecessary tests after they mixed up my blood test results with another patient.
They put me in a room that had someone else’s blood on the sheets and floor!
Never busy when I come here. Personal attentive care from the staff, we do not feel like a number.
Awful hospital. It started off fairly well with me getting x rays within half an hour of being there but after that it has been awful. Been sitting in a waiting for for almost 4 hours now in excruciating pain with what could be a broken foot. There is currently one other patient behind me & no other patients around. What they could possibly be doing with no one else around blows me away. Most ridiculous hospital visit I have ever had. Absolutely appalled by the lack of care & consideration for patients.
My wife went in to be checked out after a fall. She said the staff were so caring, excellent. We were in the Emergency Dept and there were hardly any other patients there. The place was quiet. Looks like a great place to go if you require emergency care.
