Came here once with a baby with a high temp for days, sat in my car for hours then just went home .. sad they make you sit out in your car at midnight with an infant.

Visited today, and overall was pleased with my experience. Free parking is almost unheard of in most Ontario hospitals, but available here. Automated check in. Triage was pleasant and the woman at the desk went beyond to help me sort my paperwork out. Wait times are typical for Ontario (longer than most people would like!). The doctor was friendly and approachable. Not sure if the healing garden worked, though!

The wait times are very long but the most frustrating is that there is no information given about when you will be seen. Here already for four hours and no idea about how much longer. Being patient centric is one of the Values - but no evidence of this being a priority. Avoid this place if you can.

Out patient procedure, staff was fantastic! Particularly Sherri and Anna. SHERRI, you did the fastest IV ever witnessed and p. Didn't even have a chance to get light headed!

This hospital may be up in cleanliness, BUT do not care about your well being. (There was a fantastic triage nurse). Almost 3 hours for simple xray results and none of the staff are willing to help or even speak to you. DO NOT RECCOMEND.

This ER has to be one of the worst I've ever been to. Was there for 4+ hours tonight for my 14yr old. Only 3 people ahead of us I was told when we went in...and still took almost 5 hrs. To then be insulted by what has to be the worst ER doctor I've ever dealt with. She's a tiny lady in her 60s..and is so incredibly rude. Kept insisting that my daughter seemed anxious...which she absolutely wasn't. Then went on to insult her and myself and rant about exercise and the importance of it. I'll never go there again...and this same horrible woman treated my hubby over a yr ago and upset him as well.

This hospital is terrible if your going into emergency. Waiting time is always 6 hrs or longer. There always so busy but u can sit in there listening the nurses behind the desk talking about there life at home there kids, or there love life. Took my grandson in there and we would have been better to drive to another hospital somewhere else. We reported them but who knows. They said they would put in a report. My next post I will tell my story what happen to me when I worked there.

This place is no hospital it's a morge. Don't ask the doctor who's on staff at the ER because she already made up her mind on how to get you out.

abandon all hope ye who enter here. unless you are dying or got rushed by ambulance. Waited four hours for noting at one point people just got fed up and left. The amount of funding a hospital gets from any branch of government should be based on how they treat the patients.

My daughter in law recently called 911 for back issues and was taken to the ER. All the staff we dealt with over the couple of days were fantastic. I only wish I remembered their names but those on duty from Mon Sept 30-Tues Oct 1 taking care of Amanda with a bulged disc and torn ligament, thank you!

I am absolutely disturbed by the lack of care and professionalism when I was seeking treatment for my 8 month old baby who had a severe allergic response to a food item. Upon admission we were asked if we had attempted the 'walk-in clinic first'? Um, what? I came to emergency because a food allergic reaction in an infant is an emergency. I would have rather avoided Napanee Hospital if my baby wasn't in need of emergency care in a snow storm. Further more- we sat in emerg for 3 hours where my son proceeded to projectile vomit. Other patients helped us and even ran to the desk clerk for help and no one came. It was 40 minutes before house keeping came and cleaned the vomit off the floor and an additional 40 minutes of waiting in a patient care room before we saw a very lovely doctor. Absolutely despicable 'Emergency' care.

Come in with someone who is experiencing a medical emergency there are 5 nurses plus multiple doctors and every single one them are sitting there at the desk talking and laughing now ever doing work we have been here for 2 hours and the girl beside us for 2 as well and knowone is doing anything with this comic stuff going on we don't want to be in a hospital for long and everyone is just sitting here not caring fire your staff and Hire people who want a job in health care and that can take care of there patients.

In the hospital with my 78 year old mom and couldn’t be more pleased with the care she’s receiving. All the nurses are kind, caring and attentive. The doctor was very clear with his summation of the results of the procedure. The hospital is clean and calm.

My experience was incredible start to finish. I had day surgery. The entire staff were friendly and professional. They communicated with me at every step along the way and made sure to explain what they were doing before, during and after . They were very caring and accommodating and made me feel comfortable and confident about my procedure.

Waited 4 1/2 hours and not seen, reminded them numerous times I had a baby at home that I needed to go back and tend to eventually as breastfeeding and didn't want them catching anything in the waiting room. All staff constantly on the phone and chatting, when I finally got called back I was another 2 1/2 hrs still not seem and 3 empty beds around me that entire time. Seems like only one doctor working . Being in health care myself I was embarrassed I ended up telling them I had to go home after 4 1/2 hrs and an hour of that being told I was next......waiting room like most reviews was not full. Super dissatisfied with the care. Will not be returning.

I had a surgery here booked months in advance and I have been waiting a year for. They failed to mention I couldn't proceed unless I proved a negative test. Nobody called or left a message. When I arrived, they screened me and then proceeded to get me in my gown and an IV in my arm before they asked me where my covid test was, AFTER NOT MENTIONING I NEEDED ONE. Nurse told me it was my fault and sent me on my way, still waiting to hear back about a new surgery date.

I was recently in the Emergency Department and the first Doctor I had was excellent and when she had to confirm with her diagnosis the other doctor was rude! I asked when I would be be taken for xrays and the doctor said to me, "We are a little busy here", which I replied, "Yes I can see that" and this was after 4 hours being there and I do understand that priority patients should be ahead of me. When my xrays where done, I could hear the doctor say at the nurses station, Tell HER that they were going to refer me to a specailist which I knew because I had the same issue before. I was sitting in my room and the rude doctor whom I could hear kept referring and saying, " 'Tell HER and No SHE can't ask for a specific surgeon". I don't go to Emergency unless it is my last choice, but I do expect to be respected and referred to as a Patient!!!!

I'd go to a different hospital. My fiance waited 7 hrs after badly cutting his finger at work. He was only checked on once in the 7 hr wait after loosing alot of blood. not impressed at all.

Way to laid back and dazed to be called an emergency room. Felt like a clinic with the serious lack of hussle and sauntering about by staff. Waited a few hours then read the reviews and had been counting how long people were being taken in. Find out those who were taken in were sitting in a row of chairs on the other side? I'm assuming one doctor which for a cottage country hospital is kind of pitiful.

My daughter was there for an acl reconstruction and we had an amazing experience. Everything ran smoothly and on time. The nurses and doctors were incredibly professional and very comforting. The nurses went above and beyond to comfort and support my nervous daughter and were incredibly kind and patient. They were very tentative to all her needs and gave the best experience we could have asked for!! Definitely recommend this hospital for day surgeries.

If i could give a ZERO star to their emergency i would! Went here once and i am not coming back! Waited for 3 hours. The emergency room was not even full. Maybe 8 patients waiting. Staff has no empathy whatsoever!

Updates Sept 3rd: Had a good experience today, with a seasoned nurse and doctor, both professionals, exceeded my expectations that have been very much soured at recent visits. Minus 5 Stars: Used to be a very good hospital. My experiences 4 years ago, having spent 5 days in the ICU, was excellent nurses and doctors, even the food was tasty! So this is specifically about the Emergency Department, which from my latest visits, is uncaring, bereft of service, a bit of a gong show. Their idea of triage is to flip a coin. If you need medical help, avoid this morgue. I went in the have a painfull abcess drained. The rookie doctor told me to come back the next day to get repacked. He also prescribed a dangerous amount of antibiotics, fortunately my pharmacist caught it. The next day, I went back, waited 5 hours adding more pain to the infected area, only to be told by the doctor that I should wait 2 - 3 days to get repacked. And the doctor left the room, and didn't put a new gauze on a seeping wound. I had to use my own first aid supplies, and apply a dressing. What a dissapointing joke. At the next visit, a nurse said she was coming to apply a gauze, but I was gone. The doctor didn't communicate anything to the patient. The level of negligence is beyond logic. I'm filing a formal complaint with the Minister of Health. It's a total disaster. Dangerous to people's lives.

My dad was registered at 5:30 for his 6 o’clock echocardiogram and 7 o’clock rolls around and dad went up to the desk and they claimed he missed his appointment when he was registered and sitting in the waiting room now he has to wait for a new referral because a few people who should have a higher education then me couldn’t read or do their job..... pathetic

Don't know why there are so many negative reviews. My husband and I go to this hospital for years and always had a positive experience. Hospital is very clean and staff professional and friendly. Of course there are often long waits at the ER, mostly due to shortage of doctors and/or other emergencies more pressing than the ones sitting in the waiting room. We still prefer this hospital. It is very clean and doctors and staff are great.

I recently received excellent care from emergency to ICU to ward. The nursing staff were attentive, efficient and empathetic. Doctors were very communicative and thorough. I was very impressed with this small hospital which I think punches above its weight. A year ago, I took a friend here after an injury and she was also very happy with the care she received. I think some of the other comments reflect a misunderstanding of the principle of triage.

Worst hospital ever. Never do matter what the situation is how urgent or none urgent I can time it to the minute that your there for 5 hours!!! Everything no matter what. I have said something 100 times to them tracked and showed them they think it's a joke. The amount if information you learn about there personal life while you sit and wait for a doctor listening to them stand around and chat. It's the most frustrating hospital there is.

On more than one occasion and most recently as today, the triage nurse has been very rude!!!! If you’ve forgotten you chose the profession of helping people and if you can’t be caring and compassionate any more find a new job!!!!! This community and surrounding community is always very generous in supporting this hospital and you would think you could treat the community better by reducing wait times to a reasonable wait time and treating people better!!

First timebi went to this hospital was 5years ago.....i was very impressed on how quick I was in and out.....ever since then things have gone down hill....waiting for hours and no one Inn the waiting area???.....really??....constantly getting excuses.......shift change...new doctor...ect......not good

More than one "doctor" has said that severe pain and a fractured foot (with x-ray) were "all in your head" this was 3 separate occasions. Pick anywhere else before you choose this hospital.

The emergency room in napanee is the total opposite of and emergency room. It's a wait for hours and hope you don't die. There has to be a change spent 7 hours there and needed an x-ray ecept the x-ray area close 4 hours into my wait . Now back on day two for the x-ray and still waiting 6 hours later. Come on you can't tell me this is good management. Not a funding issue either if I was the CEO f this organization I would be embarrassed. Turn in a couple months pay if it's money. Let's get it together and get it right. Triage should be a doctor or nurse practitioner. Deal with prescriptions and illnesses. Ijured people get through and medical emergencies. This isn't a hard concept better use of time and staff. If it's too busy for two doctors call another. Make our health care matter and be efficient

The service i get from the nurses or doctors except one doctor which told me i was leaving the other day snapped at a lady who was having her leg off today if it was up to me the sob would not be working in napanee any longer. The nurses are nice, funny, and understanding if you need to talk 99% of the doctors i really should out 3 stars because of that doctor but everything else makes up for him. The food id fabulous sure i waited in emerg for 6 hours but they make up for it in different ways SO IM TELLING PEOPLE NOT TO GRIPE ABOUT NAPANEE WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF IT WASNT THERE, GO TO KINGSTON HOSPITALS YUCK.
