Had day surgery there. Care was excellent.
Couldn't have had a more friendly caring staff and doctors. My care was their primary concern. Received follow-up calls. I would even give the hospital food a 7. S. Dickenson
Nicest staff and visit I ever had for preop consultation.
Very nice
Was very fast
I had surgery at Kemptville hospital. The staff are amazing. From the person at the emergency door to the nurses they are all fantastic... It was a great experience despite the fact I had to have surgery. I highly recommend this hospital;) Thanks Dave
What great service on a Saturday evening. We came into emergency at 6:17 PM and went immediately to triage then waited in the waiting room for about 30 minutes then off to see a doctor. We were in and out of emergency within two hours. Thank you to all the staff & Doctors. We are so lucky to have this facility in our area.
I enjoy the Kemptville hospital for a few reasons, first one is I've lived in Ottawa and have had to wait 8-10-15 hours to see a doctor in a hospital, I've been to the Brockville hospital and they don't know much there and it's unclean. At least in Kemptville, it's clean, quite and the doctors take time to discuss and converse with there patients. Explain the situation. Coodoos Kemptville hospital ✌
Hello; I must compliment Dr. Blakslee and the whole staff at KDH.I feel that I could not have been in better hands from start to finish. My day surgery procedure was as professional, and as caring, as any hospital could be.Thank you to everyone who works at KDH.
First time being a patient at this hospital and I'm glad I decided to go there. I usually get anxious going to hospitals but this time I didnt. All of the staff, from the covid screener, the triage nurse, the registration nurse, the doctors nurses, the cleaner, the student doctor and Dr. Brisebois were beyond kind and caring. The exam by the student doctor was very thorough, my waiting time wasnt too long realistically (20 min wait in waiting room, 1 hour wait in er room and it was a busy day too). I was explained in detail what I was going through and how they were going to treat it. Thank you Kemptville Hospital for shining some positivity and kindness during some of our more vulnerable moments. If I ever need to, I will definitely go back.
Usually my go to for emergencies. Much better than Brockville General but not as good as CHEO. Today is my fourth day in a row having to be at the hospital and I was supposed to have an ultrasound done. Walked to registration with my mum and they tried to make her go home due to covid restrictions. I’m 15. Staff were dismissive and pushy.. I hope this is just a fluke
Very kind staff, quick visits and compassionate doctors in the ER. Have not had any experience elsewhere in the hospital but the ER has been wonderful.
Shame on you!!!! I almost lost my father due to your neglect. You have clowns there pretending to be doctors. My father was rushed there with a debilitating headache and pain in his neck..lower back and muscles. He could barely walk. Mr. J Rathwell figured it was mild pneumonia and prescribed antibiotics and sent him home. 8 days later and my father was still suffering. He managed to drive himself there only for another “doctor” to tell him that there was nothing wrong with him and that he should throw away the rest of the antibiotics. When asked if an MRI could be done...the buffoon responds with: “what do you need an MRI for??” My father suffered a few more days until he could no longer leave his bed..sweating profusely and literally crying. I called the paramedics and had him rushed to Queensway where a REAL doctor (Dr. Georgina Manca) saved my father’s life by finding the brain aneurysm which was slowly bleeding but not yet burst. He was immediately taken to the Civic Hospital for an operation. Two of your “doctors” misdiagnosing a patient in danger of dying is unacceptable! Very unprofessional! Very amateur! I will never ever step foot in your hospital again. Ever!!!! 59 years old..I almost lost him. All you had to do was run a few tests. You failed!!! I will never forgive you for this! Shame on you!!! You don’t even deserve that 1 star.
Excellent ER service!!
We have been sitting here for 2.5 hours. 5 people that came in AFTER us have come and gone. Kind of ridiculous. My wife has this mysterious rash on parts of her body but yet we sit here and wait.
DO NOT GO TO KEMPTVILLE HOSPITAL. THEY ARE HEARTLESS.
Helpful and pleasant
Super fast and friendly service. I live in nepean and it’s worth the drive! Even with the drive it’s quicker then a walk-in clinic.
never been to the place before, got a tick at 2 in the morning, called to see if it was okay if i stopped by to get it removed, staff said come on over we have 24/7 doctors that can sort that out quickly, drove over at 2am, setup my profile with them in under 3 minutes, got checked out by a very kind doctor, everything worked out, left and was home by 3am. very quick and kind staff.
Great experience. Very friendly staff.
I'd like to post how good of an experience with my orthoscopic knee surgery I had today at the Kemptville District Hospital. KDH should be proud of the great staff I encountered today. From the screener at the hospital entrance to the surgical staff, it was quite a comfortable experience. They made sure you where very comfortable every step of the way. Truly professional and caring. I recommend small town hospitals like KDH all day long. Keep up the great work, during these Covid times who are all heroes.
Great Hospital !!
Fantastic service, refreshing staff. Thank you all for your loyalty and professional service.
I was there for an elbow surgery performed by Dr Pollock. The least I can say is this hospital is GREAT ! I had lots of surgery, this is by far the most comfortable I had. ABSOLUTELY everybody in the stuff is nice with you, taking care of you. listening. I'm REALLY impressed. Best hospital i've ever been ! Oh yes i'm almost 4 weeks post op and just had a call from Hospital for follow up knowing if I had all the instructions, pain medication, saw the surgeron post op and so on ... So that motivated me to do the review right away ;-)
I was able to get 2 x-rays after another appointment, adding just 30 minutes, even though they warned it could be a long wait. Previous visit to emergency and taking someone else there were good, experiences - doctors are skilled and everything seemed efficiently run.
Amazing hospital, very fast to get you looked at and on your way, staff is always very nice!
Was there for a specialist appointment for my five year old, was met by great hospital staff, kind nurses and good docs. very clean well maintained facility.
It was well organized ????
Went for knee surgery yesterday (April 12 2019). Every single person that I dealt with was awesome, professional, friendly and very helpful. I have A LOT of anxiety pre and post OP and they were quite sympathetic without going over board with it. They helped me when needed and since I get so paranoid when being put under, the operating room nurse held my hand and talked to me soothingly and reassuringly until I was completely out. They also understood my claustrophobia about elevators and didn't just ignore that this was a massive issue for me, especially with already being extra anxious. My surgeon is Ottawa based but comes to Kemptville to perform procedures there so it saved me that extra half hour to get there. Highly satisfied with how the whole experience went. I'll definitely go there for any important issues as opposed to the Brockville one, any day!!!
we got seen rather fast for a hospital
Still waiting after 6 hours. Doctor just passed my room to go see someone who was here an hour after me. I feel they forgot about me.
I just had day surgery at this hospital. My first time there and I was overwhelmed by the friendliness of the staff. Thanks to Mary Pat, I was taken care of in due time. All staff were courteous and pleasant. Thanks to all doctors and staff that took care of me. Much appreciated. Debra W.
My mother is currently in the Kemptville hospital and the care has been exemplary.
Everyone was lovely and service was very fast. Thank you everyone at kemptville hospital! !!
Haven't been here in over 10 years and had a scheduled appointment for an Xray. Extremely impressed with the staff and volunteers. Upon my arrival I was greeted by a friendly volunteer who provided me with details pertaining to parking, and where I should go for my appointment. Extremely helpful. The process was so efficient. I was in and out of the hospital in 30 minutes. I have not experienced Emergency in-take yet. Based on reviews wait times appear to be quite long but likely not the fault of the hospital but mostly Queens Park and Ontario Government. If I ever make use of Emergency I will update this review. Great job to all at KDH!
Always found this hospital one of the better ones to go too. They treat you very well. Very courteous and helpful
Amazing. Dislocated toe - went to BGH (brockville) the day before, waiting 1.5 hours for triage and was told it would be a 10 hour wait. TEN HOURS! there was a suicidal woman and a man holding his chest - neither one was looked at for an emergency. If they weren't an emergency, I knew my toe sure wouldn't be either. Next day, went to Kemptville. Within 3 hours - triage, nurse, doctor, freezing, toe relocated, xray and update. Three hours - was amazing. Doctor was great and dealt with my freak out over a needle. Patient and kind. Kudos Kemptville!
Great hospital. I went in with sever mental health issues and they did everything they could to keep me safe and comfortable till they transfered me. Great help.
THE WORST HOSPITAL , absolutely useless
With two young kids doing virtual home-schooling during lockdown and a husband working from home, when I fell on my wrist on ice (during a lunchbreak walk with my kids) and suspected a fracture, I felt depressed just thinking of how inconvenient this injury was as not only was I hurt now, but I would have to be adding a painful wait of 6 hours (minimum) at the Civic, Queensway or any other hospital. However, I remembered hearing good things about Kemptville Hospital. After checking Google maps I realised distance was not a bad investment of time and oh, boy, I hit the jackpot!! From the way the first young man received me and asked the typical covid questions, to the waiting room and then the Triage nurse; the facilities and service was not only friendly, clean and nice, but very efficient! I don't know what keeps doctors in Ottawa hospitals from checking a kid's cut over the eyebrow and gluing it (as it happened to my youngest in CHEO, due to a sledding accident) in no less than 6 hours. Kemptville's first class service was outstanding!! Receiving me, giving me a new mask, Triage, registration, x-rays (thank you, Brandon!), kind nurse taking me to a private room and giving me painkillers (thank you, Jose!), and the sweet doctor checking my arm and giving me treatment (thank you, Dr. Pelletier!!) all withing ONE HOUR, it deserves all 5 stars review!!
not impressed. I will never go back.
Very disappointed in our 1st visit to this hospital that an ambulance took us to. While driving on the 416 just outside of Kemptville my husband got a massive headache and lost most of his vision. Pulled of on Rideau River Road and called an ambulance which took us to Kemptville hospital. Only gave him 2 tylenol for his headache and upped his diaretic to what they thought was the cause was the liquid around his heart and sent him home. Next morning he woke up with the headache and vision worse and throwing up. Called another ambulance that took us to Winchester Hospital. They took great care of him got in touch with the Civic Hospital in Ottawa where he was transferred to. They discovered he had had 2 mini strokes in the area of his brain where his optic nerves are and that is why he could not see. They had to suspend his driver's license. Will never go to that hospital again. Terrible care. They did not do their job properly.
Had knee replacement surgery this past week at Kemptville Hospital. Cannot say enough great things about the care and compassion I received. It was such a pleasant experience from the entire , doctors, nurses, staff!
I was in the day surgery unit on May 22, 2019 and received the best compassionate care from all the staff! From the pre-OP, to the operating room, to the post-OP recovery. What a cute lil hospital with helpful volunteers. It was very clean and tidy. I would recommend this hospital for any surgery.
Very helpful and kind professionals, thank you for helping me!
Don't care for the attitude of the staff! No bedside manner whatsoever!
Felt very safe and comfortable. No reason to feel anxious or uncomfortable.
This hospital has provided top-shelf service to me and my pregnant wife. Parking is alwaya available, and doesn't cost much. The staff are polite, informative and very proffesional. Dr. Brisebois is a wonderful doctor!!!
Despite always having to wait (which is the same at any hospital), I've always had very professional treatment here.
All of the staff were very friendly and professional. The intake nurses were efficient and displayed a great deal of patience as i watched them field phone calls while also dealing with their primary reslonsibilities. Medical imaging technician was excellent and Dr. Taylor was thourough and made sure I understood my injury, explained the recovery/healing process and answered my questions patiently and with clarity. Could not ask for better care. Thank You to the whole team.
I had to visit the emergency room and was greeted by a nurse who worked quickly and efficiently in both triage and registration. I spoke with the Doctor within minutes of arriving. A health issue that hadn't been resolved with two visits elsewhere and waiting times of over 3 hours was resolved in under twenty minutes. This is a hidden gem! My prayer is that neither the health ministry nor the local LHIN sets its sights and its inefficiency on this great hospital. Thank you to the nurse and doctor involved with my visit.
Very very slow a guy that has heart problems and went in with chest discomfort. . . Told to wait and put in a room where a Doctor walked by probably 50 times what a joke such a joke. Loved when I came in all the nurses where having a break at the front . .. having a good laugh about something. Joke joke joke
The E.R is a horrible place the staff dont treat patients as people. My last stay there i passed out and awoke to a nurse kicking me saying he was to tall to bend over and shake me. When i told Dr. Zakhem she just laughed and walked away i would definitely reccomend going to winchester as the staff their are kind and courteous. I understand how the emergency room is busy and understaffed but thats not my doing and i should not be treated like it was. As well as how i seen them treat other patients in my years going their. So this is a warning about how they may treat you. Wait times are long due to the workload they have and the doctors in my experience tend to be better. Other than Dr. Zakhems disregard for how the nurse treated me she was very understanding and pleasant to deal with.
Girlfriend went in with a wrist injury. Was ridiculed by the triage nurse for how the injury occured and after 5 hours was told that her x-ray was inconclusive and to go to her family doctor in ten days. Was given a prescription for a splint as the doctor say next to a bunch of available splints. Went to Winchester the next day and she was seen within 2 hours, was diagnosed with a broken bone in her hand and given a halfcast and splint on the spot! Very disappointing experience
Great facility, fabulous staff and very very nice volunteers
Kudos to Dr. Chan, Melanie and Julie for looking after my 89 year old Mother - great attention paid to her and was very appreciative - thanks again
Bad experience today. The intake ladies, won’t even look at you and then waited five hours for a doctor that never came, therefore I left to go pick up my kids from school.
I was there for an appointment for a routine X-ray. Not an emergency. The reception staff somehow missed that, even though it was the first thing I told the Covid checker. and after the Covid questionnaire, I was told to sit and wait. An hour later they sent me to another interview which eventually I realised was triage. When I expressed surprise at what info they needed, as I was only there for an X-ray, that was ignored. Eventually I reached reception, where finally someone was concentrating, and I was directed to the X-ray department. I was over an hour late for my appointment, completely the fault of the hospital.
Very small ER, they do not seem to have many devices around available so it is more like painkiller dispenser. The doctor that looked at my wife seemed ok but one of the nurses was unprofessional with her remarks in respect to my wife condition.
My partner went to the hospital for a back injury and Dr. Conway was rude, unprofessional and not personable at all. She didn’t take time to properly assess the back injury and should have considering she was filling out wsib paperwork for the return to work plan.
They gave me the wrong diagnosis. I went in with bad pains on my lower left back and, after an ultrasound, they told me it was just some swelling that could've been a kidney stone that already passed. I hadn't felt any pain since the doctors told me this, so I decided to believe them. Then, my family doctor got my ultrasound results and told me that, from looking at the results, that I might have an obstructing kidney stone. Confused, I asked why Kemptville Hospital didn't tell me this, my doctor just told me they had no idea. Quite a big oversight guys!
Triage is very awkward because the doors open and everyone in the waiting room can hear why you’re there????
I used to love having this hospital 12 min from home. After being terribly mistreated by the telephone operator I will be driving the 25.min to Winchester instead. Dealing with uncaring people during an emergency is not what anyone needs.
The hospital is more than wonderful and they have an excellent medical staff. And care for the patient. And cleanliness at the highest level
