This Hospital belongs to the category of Hospital.
Great care. Wish there was more contact in between all hospital personel and the patients family’s though …. Very friendly people to encounter however.
An absolute nightmare, for me...although the physio ladys were awesome, its the so called nurses , kids with attitudes.... So heads up ,be warned. Wish i had been...............
The worst experience in my families life. My mother in law was left to die in the ER and did. Never received any kind of diagnosis but they had no problem giving her a morphine drip. We had to run into the hall when she stopped breathing as nobody was attending the vital signs monitors. This is the first note we have written about this horrendous incident but it certainly will not be the last.
Excellent health care , received physiotherapy from October 17th till December 1st - Excellent doctors Excellent nurses Excellent physiotherapy Excellent occupational Therapy Excellent , housekeeping, food, grounds, security, rooms 5*
Gf went in to see the er doctor fever 103.5 barly standing or moving could not even talk we waited for 3 hours then she had a seizure after that we will were Put back in the waiting room And were told that there was no nurses or doctors to Deal with anything Went back to use the bathroom And nurses were sitting there talking about Facebook there weekend and how things were going with each other In the doctors were sitting there eating pizza It is not they are not there for the patient's health care they are there to make money and that's that
THIS COUNTRY COLLAPSE VERY FAST.. WE JUST WORK AND PAID TAX FOR PIECE OF SH***T
Pleasant, modern facility...this NOT the WRH ER The hospital has a campus feel and is clean and well-appointed with plenty of natural light and convenient inexpensive parking. It shows what can be done with an older building and proper funding. Only down side was that signs are confusing, mostly due to the tendancy to use vague euphemisms to describe mental health programs.
I found the nurses very kind and helpful. For example, today I had an appointment that was supposed to be on the first floor and there was a change. While I was on my way to the room I was supposed to go to, the nurse was standing right next to me calling me to inform me of the change. It was funny how that happened; she didn't remember what I looked like and I didn't remember what she looked like. So, she took me to the correct room for the appointment. We had a good laugh how things worked out. This is how I've seen the staff there from the last time I was there; excellent service, I would say ????
Should be no reason other than an outbreak to be waiting 4 to 6 hours.
Canadian people should be treated with much more compassion.
Great services
I spent about 6 weeks here after having a stroke. I love all of the staff here from the nurses and doctors that took such great care of me (and my family) to the girls in the cafeteria... and everyone in between! I'm still going there 3 times per week on an outpatient basis. We still get a warm welcome from so many people when we're there!
All the nurses treated you like the only person there. So kind, helpful, looked after all my needs, nothing but good to say speaking to all of you. Margaret Campbell
HORRIBLE STAFF AND HORRIBLE SERVICE ! HOW DARE YOUR STAFF TREAT ME WITH NO RESPECT AND WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE NURSES ON STAFF LIKE ONE MALE NURSE SO BUSY TALKING ABOUT HIS WEEKEND AND THAN HE TELLS ME TO WAIT 20 MINS STANDING THERE LIKE HE SUPPOSE TO BE WORKING NOT TAKING ABOUT HIS WEEKEND PLANS WITH ANOTHER FEMALE NURSE LIKE THIS ISN'T A BAR TRYING TO PICK UP A DATE ! DO YOUR JOB UNPROFESSIONAL NOT A GOOD SERVICE AT ALL. THEY NEED TO FIRE EVERYONE AND REHIRE A NEW STAFF THAT DOES THE JOB RIGHT ! OH WHEN I ARRIVED ONE OF THE FEMALE NURSES WAS VERY AGGRESSIVE AND RUDE LIKE WOW CALM YOURSELF AND RESPECT PEOPLE NO NEED FOR THE ATTITUDE AND ALSO SHE WAS BUSY TALKING TO THE SAME MALE NURSE AND NOT DOING HER JOB!
Everyone in the gym, as they call the physio room, was A1. They were kind, understanding, knew what they were doing and the equipment in physio was very good. Most of the nurses were good, but it showed that they were overworked. The food and kitchen staff was excellent and cheerful. Improved cleanliness was needed, but I assume some of the lack was due to the pandemic overload.
I HAD A strocke DECEMBER 19/17. A LONG WAIT ON THE STRETCHER IN THE ENTRANCE ALLWAY TO BE ADMITTED. NO OCTOR IN SIGHT!!!! I WAS ADMITTED LATE THAT NIGHT. I DID NOT KNOW WHAT HAD HAPPEND TO ME. NOBODY SAD ANYTHING ABOUT MY CONDITION, UNTILL THE END OF THE CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS ( EVERYBODY W BACK FROM VACATIONS?) WHEN A DOCTOR TOLD ME, AN PASSANT, WHILE I WAS IN THE HALLWAY ON A WHEELCHAIR: "BY THE WAY, YOU HAD A STROKE". THE NURSES OVERWORKED, COMPLAINING ABOUT THE JOB, SO THEY DID NOT HELP MUCH. ALL KIND OF EXPENSIVE TESTS (BLOOD, URINE, PRESSURE, MRI, CATSCAN, LIVERSCAN, ECC..). NO INFOMATION ABOUT TESTS RESULTS. I WAS (WITH MY CONSENT, ON THE INSISTENT REQUESTS OF THE INSTRUCTOR ) CATHETERISED A FEW TIMES IN FRONT OF SAME SAINT CLAIR COLLEGE NURSING STUDENTS. THE FOOD WAS NORMAL, FOR AN HOSPITAL. FINALLY AFTER A MONTHS, I WAS TRANSFERED TO THE REHAB HOSPITAL. A DIFFERENT STORY, MUCH BETTER CARE: THEY HAVE FIRST-RATE DEPARTMENTS (PHYSIO/OT).NOW FINALLY AT HOME, I CAN MOVE AROUND WITH MY WOLKER ENJOING A LITTLE MOBILITY, THINKING THAT HAD THEY TAKE CARE OF ME WRIGHT AFTER THE STROCKE, TODAY I WOULD BE ABLE TO MOVE WITH MORE FACILITY....AND INDIPENDENCE....ALL OF THIS HAPPEND TO ME. ...C'EST LA VIE.
Patient Advocate -USELESS LEGAL AFFAIRS- USELESS
Very unsanitary poor bedside manner, severe lack of communication between doctors and nurses as well as nursing staff shift changes. I had a broken neck collar bone hand wrist they did not care how they picked me up.
After getting out of surgery. The older nurse from the Green area was upset she had to look for a wheelchair. I had to walk myself out to the entrance?? Very unstable!
Bring a lunchbox and a pillow. Be prepared to wait ATLEAST 7 HOURS. what r we paying for?
Amazing heath care team, with knowledgeable and caring staff that go above and beyond for their patients.
This place is disgusting. Not sure what happened here since the last time I was here but wow. They took all of the windows where you register only they didn't even properly fix where it once was. Our er room has blood and a bloody cotton ball on the floor! Seriously? It's no wonder people are coming out with super bugs...and oh my bad it's not called hotel dieu anymore? Well it was not long ago maybe I should specify met Ouellette campus. Lol what a joke. Please don't forget to send me my survey...
The staff are friendly and professional and the wait times to get in are amicable.
I've never had an issue. As I read a lot of these poor reviews, it would seem people are mistaking this location for the Ouelette location. For example there is not a 6th floor, and some doctors mentioned dont work there. Check your location before giving an unacceptable review.
My elderly parent was in the Emara building recovering from a fall and received exceptional care while there... the nursing, occupational therapy, and cleaning staff were generally very caring and compassionate with the exception of a few staff members.. i would have given a 5 star rating but they had nursing staff reductions in Sept 2017 and the level of care suffered noticably due to this change. The hospital is very clean and well maintained.. Parking is expensive and often difficult to find a space at high traffic times.. there are some improvements that nursing staff should keep in mind - ensure patients have things such as fesh drinking water, tissues, trays, etc within reach.. try to keep the room tidy when finished providing care, such as putting soiled clothing in bags and not strewn on chairs tables or the closet flloor. Put soiled incontinance items in the appropriate garbage recepticals stored outside the patients rooms... These are just some steps to ensure that the elderly that are unable to care for themselves are able to live with a level of dignity.... overall though, the staff are wonderful care providers and a pleasure to converse with... Thank you on behalf of my parent for a wonderful care experience..
It is very unfortunate that we live in a community that is just so cruel to people who are in need of mental health services. I think this is not just a problem at this location, but pretty much everywhere you go nowadays. I believe it’s because everyone is clueless on what needs to be done for people in need! People are lazy and inconsiderate to take the time to help because they just want to get paid! I think there is a lack of training, experience and people who shouldn’t be working in this environment and trying to run these programs. I am making this complaint on here because I have tried everything to get these issues resolved and I have been ignored. Now it's not just about me but for other people who had a similar experience. Firstly, I attended this establishment recently and was not impressed with the psychiatrist and his student. I don't think this is fair and that more psychiatrists need to be hired and to see people who need help on a more regular basis and not just once... I would rather get referred to someone else with more experience and actual understanding of my situation. That is a challenge in this community to find the right fit and people to deal with your health concerns the right way. Secondly, I was also unimpressed with parking, especially the parking ticket I received for being 5 minutes late to my car! It’s just upsetting that people who are going to get help even need to pay for parking which is enforced by the City of Windsor. I didn’t think my appointment was going to be more than 3 hours. Since, I was told it would be an hour-two hours. Yet, I still paid extra just in case and still got ticketed. I didn't have enough change and the prices are ridiculous. I don't have much money right now so getting a $20 ticket on top of paying $6 was not what I needed. Some people would think that $26 is nothing, but to me it is, and the fact I paid that for parking, is even more ridiculous! Of course it’s not their problem, that’s a City of Windsor issue. Parking should be free at hospitals, clinics or anywhere else where sick people need help. It makes me sick because I think that is the least thing that sick people going to get help need to see when they get back to their car. I wish they would do more to help people not be in that predicament. Thirdly, the doctors, medical residents, counsellors, program coordinators, patient advocate, and others that I’ve dealt with that work for all HDGH services that I’ve attended have been negative, unprofessional and uncaring. Just walking into these facilities made me feel very hopeless and helpless. I felt that way walking into the building. The people I’ve personally have dealt with are not willing to help and admit that this brand new system that has been put into place this year is a fail. I am not saying all the individuals that work at these establishments are like this, but I just happened to deal with many people who are. I believe these people are too burnt out and cannot handle the amount of work and clients taken on a daily basis. I feel they need to hire more people! The people who I’ve spoken with have not been friendly either. Especially, when calling for appointments or requesting important information. People in Windsor deserve better than this! Now that HDGH works with CMHA, Transitional Stability Center and other programs run through this city, it’s only going to continue to get worse if they don’t come up with a better plan to deal with the public and train their staff appropriately. It’s just very sad that these programs could be beneficial for the community, but are poorly managed and the people running the programs just can’t seem to get it together for the people who need the help the most. Very disappointing and to be quite honest, an embarrassment to our community!
The utensils here when you're eating are not cleaned and not washed properly dried food on them.
The nurses were great and I'd give less than zero if it wasn't for them but the Dr discharged my dad without talking to him. He was asleep at 7am and when He woke up he was told he was going home. When he asked to talk to the Dr to ask some questions he was told no because he was discharged and the problem wasn't resolved. Massive kidney stone that won't pass and he only has 1 kidney. Way to go hotel Dieu. Oh and they wouldn't give him a note for work even though he was admitted for 2 days . Would like to update 1 week from the first review. The specialist office called us and said the hospital didn't have any of his records of scans and tests.....how the hell do you just lose medical records?????? He needs to go to London for surgery and the specialist now can't send any of the information to the London hospital because of the incompetence of this place. Now he might need to wait to get all those tests done again all while he only has 1 kidney.
Scheduled surgery moved 4 times and after waiting for 6hours we were told it was cancelled... if I could have given less then one star I would have. And the nurse that told us was trying to make us feel guilty... what a pos...
Hotel Dieu is run by LIARS and high-functioning sociopaths. Disgusting behaviour from Janice the triage nurse. She was extremely rude to Dr. Erdodi's wife when I took her to the ER for pulmonary concerns. "What's your problem?", she barked at us. No eye contact, just hostility. The patient rep at Hotel Dieu is just a paid liar. Dike, the former head of the Crisis Centre is liar. Every single staff member is paid to LIE and cover up their pathological behaviour. RECORD EVERYTHING ON YOUR PHONE! Do not expect an apology from any of the staff at Hotel Dieu. I've gone to Lisa Gretzky about this and she apologized for the gaslighting/sociopathy from Hotel Dieu. There was nothing she could do and their patient rep is like a fox guarding the hen-house. In other words, drawing a salary for doing NOTHING. BTW, Dr. Erdodi, is a Psych prof at University of Windsor. The next time Janice is rude to someone, she better make sure they're not a Psych student or married to a Psych prof. Dear HDGH shill, save your pathetic response for those tolerant of liars. The people of Windsor are on to you.
I found this hospital very poor. The staff was rude condesending and demeaning. Dr. Giovanni Villella was an incredibly poor doctor and misdiagnosed my case and refused to listen...he was unable to reach the right diagnosis and narrow minded. He works at Hotel Dieu Oulette Ave. I strongly suggest that you find an alternate hospital and if you consider Dr. Villella always seek a second opinion
I cannot believe the unsanitary and crowded condition this hospital is in!!! The 6th floor hallways are a disaster and in my opinion a fire hazard. As if there's not enough stuff in the hallways they have a skeleton in a chair with a christmas hat on it which is unnecessarily crowding the hallway! I would be embarrassed to have someone from out of town come to visit a family member and see what horrible conditions our Windsor hospitals are in! Oh and what is with the laim responses people are getting on these reviews?
