REVIEWS OF Georgetown Hospital IN Ontario

Steve Prentice I want to share an experience I had at Georgetown Hospital emergency department, I took a bad fall on May 20th went to the Emergency department after a few hours the Dr came in to see me and decided that I did not need x rays or bloodwork sent me home with no treatment. A few days later the pain was getting worst decided to go to Guelph Emergency for a second opinion and after having the staff at Guelph do X rays, ultrasound, bloodwork and a CT scan was told I had a broken 9th rib and possible bowel damage. If the bowel injury goes untreated it could be fatal This is not the first time I have gone to Georgetown and had a bad experience the level of treatment received at Guelph would rate a 5 Stars. They could see I was in a lot of discomfort and took the time for a proper diagnostic. I cannot say the same for Georgetown Emergency or ER Doctors

I care for an urgency ultrasound from a clinic because of a issue with my appendix’s and had to wait 5 hours and they took people who came way after us in before us. Horrible service

I cannot thank you enough for helping my son yesterday, and recognizing when you could no longer help him and arranging him for immediate transfer to Mc.Master, Halmiton.

Unprofessional disinterested trio of girls at the front, horribly long wait time in emergency, disorganized staff. Enter at own Risk!

ABSOLUTELY THE WORST HOSPITAL ON THE PLANET! Waited 31/2 hours to be seen and ended up leaving without seeing a doctor. Watched numerous patients go in and out with really no symptoms as worse as my moms who couldn’t sit do to her back pain so she stood for 3 1/2 hours on her already injured hip and was not put in priority. Absolutely the worst the Triage nurse didn’t even care that she was about to collapse she said it wasn’t her problem. I really hope that others don’t trust there family members going here.

Had severe tummy ache and my family doctor send me for a CT scan. Attending doctor told me" well your doctor isnt here now. I am. So you go for an Xray" waited for an xray for 3 and half hours. Waited for the doctor to come back and see me for 45mins and asked a nurse it's getting late close to 9pm. What's happening. Reply I got" well the doctor has to come and see you and we are very very busy now, but if you want to leave feel free to leave. No ones holding you back" How rude and unprofessional of the nurse. While I see the doctor laughing and talking away to another doctor. Is this good practise in healthcare in emergency department when someone has severe pain?

Caring people. Responsiveness is a 10/10. Broke my arm and they took care of me amazingly. Reception and nurses and doctors were great.

chirag patel

Waiting since last 4 hours with my daughter. No doctor showed up until now. Worst hospital ever seen.

Spent 4 days in hospital the past week. Was treated with the utmost respect and dignity. The ER staff were definitely overworked and overwhelmed but treated me well. When admitted and had to spend another night in the ER due to space on the med/surge ward again they were so good to me. As attentive as they possibly could be with the amount of patients they had coming and going. Once I was able to finally get a room the med/surge nurses were even more attentive and kind. With Covid we see so much negativity in this ????, let's spread some love for all of our Georgetown Hospital Hero's ❤

I've been there two times with my one year old baby and no more ! First we were waiting 5,5h to visit a doctor becouse my little one coudn't breathe properly, second time I came becouse my baby was all in her blood and nobody cared about her in the hospital !!! We were waiting 15 minutes to sign in and we came back home to find another place becouse I have no idea how long we could waiting there yet only to register ! The worst hospital ever but unfournately the best to die during waiting ! These doctors shouldn't working as a doctors ! They completly do not care about patient ! Shame on You staff...

Wish you could provide 0 stars as a rating as this is the worst hospital I've been to in my life (41yrs old).

Such kind and caring people work at this hospital. I encountered 4 different nurses and 1 doctor and each was more and more helpful. Despite it being Christmas Eve, they couldn't have been nicer.

They put me in a room after 2 hs of crying in pain, did blood work and nobody came back. They forgot I was there. I could hear them laughing and having a good time because they are paid to have fun. Other times, after finding out I wasn't dying they sent me to see fam doc. Didn't care a bit to get an answer to my heart pain, high pulse, etc... They don't have to entertain you as a patient, but is their duty to take care of you and your health, act polite and do they job. Is not the case on this hospital.

Ania Bryczek

Amazing hospital and staff!!! I fell down my stairs and came in.. Had xrays done and the whole visit lasted no more than 2 hours. Left with a boot and metal plate on my finger. Great care! Amazing doctors and nurses. I lived in Mississauga and Oakville and been to Hospitals there.... nothing compares to this Hospital. I love my town! I love Georgtown!!! Thank you to the nurses and doctors!!! They truely care here. :)

Maria Alejandra Yanes Briceño

Doctors and nurses in the maternity ward were amazing. I delivered my baby mid June and stayed 3 days. They followed all covid-19 protocols and made us feel safe at all times. My baby and I received the best care. Very professional and friendly staff.

Alex Hilson

Major part of our community, and now it has the new emergency. I can't complain.

Spent Christmas Eve here in the ER my son had broken a bone. It had felt very long to wait to get in to see the doctor. After we got in it was very fast and the Emerg. Doctor who helped us was just so nice to him and made it very 'un-stressful'. I appreciate the entire staff and how they treated my son and myself. When I went back a few days later to have the cast reset it was incredibly long wait for the fracture clinic even after I had an appointment. But the again the staff made up for it. Myself and my son have left smiling every time

B Mo

Decent wait times. Doctors rush you out and not much conversation to the root of the issue. Got an X-ray done and was told to pop Advil.

I’ve had to visit the emergency department twice in the last 5 months. Once for a miscarriage and once for a scare. I’ve never been through that before and it was awful. The silver lining was being treated so well both times by Dr Daly and another doctor that I’m so sorry to not have her name. The compassion and knowledge they gave me, made the worst days manageable. They recognized me and treated me like a person instead of just another patient. Even the doctor who performed my ultrasound was very professional and thorough. I felt like I was in good hands. Of course, visits to emergency rooms aren’t always the quickest but I think the least we can do as patients, is be understanding that everyone is doing their best.. for us. Treating me so wonderfully during their busy schedules and this wild nightmare we are all experiencing really meant so much to me and my family. True super hero’s.

Best hospital ???? ???? in brampton!! All the nurses are so nice so grateful ???? Thank you ???? ???? ☺ ????

Long waits but good service

Kalen Espedido

Triage lineup is a joke. Once you pass that the service is great.

This hospital should be shut down. My dad had a stroke after waiting for hours in the emergency and was told there was nothing wrong. Don’t bother coming if you need some serious care.

Jasjot Kang

Worst decision to take my mom here. It says emergency but what kind of emergency services have this long waiting time. They just want to register asap and collect the money. If they have longer waiting times, can't they just let us know so the person could decide.

Ada G

I would give this hospital no stars. My father came here with swollen legs and difficulty breathing at night within 2 hours the discharge planner said he was good to go. I asked if they ran tests they said no and the dr just had a quick check and said he was ok to go. Than a few days after he got a seizure he had chronic heart failure and blood infection. They dont care about their patients and just try to get rid of people as quickly as they can. Its better to drive to another hospital where they care and will run all the tests needed because this hospital is a waste of time and dont care about people.

This hospital did an unnesary "gallbladder removal surgery" on me back in december 2015. When i woke up in excruciating pain the surgeon was on his phone making holiday plans and took off. The next morning the nurses kept telling me he would come explain what happend during the surgery. He came TWO days later to tell me they couldnt find my gallbladder and didn't know what was causing my pain. I was in shocked and asked how they missed this on several ultrasound/xray they took and said it was an error and assumed there was a gallbladder. Dr iskander should be fired and count his blessings i didnt sue the hospital. I was never informed of further followups and have been living with scars from stomach incisions. The inital doctor in the emergency was cold and rude when i told him what the surgeon had done and told me to use saline to clean my scars that were made for nothing! I have been terrorfied of hospitals ever since. 0 stars!!!!!

Jyoti Panchal

Very grateful and thankful for the supportive Doctors and nurses at this hospital. They are incredibly caring and don't have attitude like some other nurses at other much busier hectic hospitals. All the nurses at this hospital always have a smile on their face and are so willing to help and answer all of your questions no matter how stupid you think they might be. The doctor taking care of my father called me every single morning with an update. We've been to many hospitals in the GTA and no doctor has done this before. So appreciative of what they do and their high level of professionalism. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Adam Gerlach

I had a procedure yesterday, have to admit i was nervous as heck as i have never had a procedure done in my life and it was my first time under sedation. All i have to say is everyone was awesome! The admitting nurse, the anesthesiologist, the OR nurse all did a great job. The surgeon was very professional and helped me to feel comfortable with the procedure! Stand up job everyone! Thank you!

After today's visit in the ER I am convinced that this hospital has hired some of the most compassionate, personable and friendliest staff. They not only treated my 2 year old daughter as a patient but as a person. Took the time to comfort her during her exam and during a minor procedure. This is the most calm she has ever been during a trip to the ER. Thank you so much to the staff for making the trip to the hospital today a pleasant one! You truly are remarkable people!

On Nov 9th 2021 I Waited 6 hours in emergency room to get stitches done on a injured finger. bad wait time, I was in a lot of pain, nurses told us that we well be next to see the doctor then nothing happens after kept on waiting until we finally got called to see the doctor. Dr. Jackson was very Pleasant and understood my injury he stich it up and prescribed some pain medication for it. rate that 4 stars and for the wait time is 1 star.

Baljinder Rehill

Worst place ever. This Friday in emergency after 5 hours waiting I asked them how long it will take to see doctor and they told 2 to 6 hours more waiting... ...... 9 pm --2 am i left without seeing Doctor .. And 4 other patients left hospital with me

Georgetown Hospital provided my husband and I a wonderful experience in delivering our first child. Each nurse was kind and caring, attended to our needs which were always met, and comforted us throughout our journey. Our environment was calm and nurturing, and were frequently checked on which made us feel loved and cared for. We were also thrilled have had my OBGYN Dr. Ade-Conde deliver our child. We had a beautiful delivery experience with him and his team. We will definitely be returning to this hospital in the future!

Thank you guys for your compassion, integrity, and professionalism!!! My father was misdiagnosed with a fall where he actually had a stroke from Brampton Civic. Thankfully the amazing people here at Georgetown corrected the error and did immediate treatment to give my father a little more life. We all deserve to live in this world as long as we can and you guys are trying your best to make that happen! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!!

I'll I wanted to know was what caused the rash I had and I would be on my way. I waited 15 minutes just to get called in for a sign in, the 4 minutes for another woman then 15 minutes just to be sent to an other room finally 20 minutes later for the doctor to show up just to send me home without checking my body. By then the rash was gone. I understand the fact that i was not a emergency but while I was waiting I saw the doctor talking to 2 nurses and laughing while that woman was having a heart attack. Not only do they disregard their patients, but they are extremely rude with a doctor that does not know anything about manners. My parents asked how long will i have to wait casually but he responded "That's not how we do it here!" Then walks away. I don't know how doctors are supposed to act but that is definitely not how you treat someone paying you in taxes. I would recommend if anyone is having an emergency; plan your route and find an other hospital because the staff here are extremely rude, inconsiderate, procrastinate and have the ignorance of a 10 year old.

Had an amazing experience here. Went in with my husband who was having surgery. Every single staff member was super friendly and helpful. They kept me updated and took the time to talk us through everything and answer any questions. We both felt very well cared for. So grateful for the doctors, nurses, and staff!!

Whichever nurse was in triage on August Friday the 14th 2020 was not a pleasure to be around. My husband went in to the ER around 2 in the morning because he was advised by telehealth. The triage nurse asked him why he came to the hospital as his situation was not an “emergency”. She was not welcoming or sympathetic at all; and tended to show different behaviour toward Caucasian patients. He sat and watched people come in after him and leave before him. After waiting for two hours while being the only one in the waiting room watching people come and go he came to a realization that the bias at this hospital was not worth waiting for if he would not receive the care he needed.

We just visited this location for quote a serious injury that happened late on a Saturday night. We thought we would be here all night but the staff were so efficient, we were in and out within an hour.

I came in from Kingston this morning to visit my cousin at Georgetown Hospital I was told I wasn't on the preferred list and didn't have an appointment so I wouldn't be allowed to visit. Are there no exceptions? The 2 young ladies at the main entrance were very rude and no help at all. They told me to come back another day and make an appointment . Do they not realize for far the drive was for me? I am a senior and that drive is not easy for me. I asked them if they could call my cousin and get permission to visit and the answer was definately NO! I have never been treated so shabbily at any other Hospital during Covid .This treatment was so disturbing and really upset me it took me awhile to pull myself together to drive back home. I am glad I don't have to deal with hospital on a regular basis. The customer service is appalling

Better than Brampton civic hospital

Wrost place to go for emergency they don't have any on call surgeons and ultrasound closed at 3pm so first whole day i wait to see doc. And next day ultrasound and again need to see doc. End of 2 days they told me to see family doc. While my family doc. Send me to emergency!!!!! This people are very racist

Vanessa Cad

Emergency is super fast at this hospital. The staff are very nice and don't make you wait. Being an older hospital, of course they can't support every patient as their systems and machines aren't new and improved.

Dhaval Parikh

Best hospital - we went to emergency for my daughter, she has given treatment very quick and so nicely. Really blessed having such hospital and all staff. Very respectful and really true care taker.

Harneet Bajwa

Triage Admin Azhar(evening shift) Emerg Department is too rude. He don't know how to treat with patients and people in pain.

Chen Shen

Special thanks to the ER department, nurse Jackie and the ER doctors that we missed the names. Thank you so much for saving me from the hemorrhage and the extra care that everyone took so that I didn't scare myself to death.

Nagendra Hamsala

Other the triage nurse who was a little snug (triage nurse being the first point of contact should be cheerful rather than snug), rest of the experience was great. Dr Jessica, Dr Ted Jackson and Nurse Ashley were amazing/angelic. They took time to understand the problem and then consulted before diagnosing. Felt safe with them. Cheers!!!

Sasha McKay

I just want to thank all the drs and nurses today it’s been a very stressful 3 days my toddler hadn’t opened her eyes for the past 2 days and just a snowball of other things they were able to get her eyes opened! I’m so so grateful she’s on the mend thank you again to everyone I don’t remember the names of was this afternoon xo ????

I'm writing this review based on the experience my friend had at Georgetown Hospital emergency department. He came to emergency thrice for the same stomach pain. The nurse and the Dr didn't care to explain his situation well. They were not empathetic . He is from another country and was not adviced on what to eat what to avoid or whether to eat at all. When we went there again the nurse at emergency made arrogant remarks about having common sence to take OTC medication. How can a medical professional except from a patient with no medical knowledge to take medication on own without any advice I'm a Dr at my home country. Never have we ever spoken to a patient about having common sence . As medical professionals we are exposed to the knowledge and understanding to medicine .I was under the false impression that Doctor- patient relationship is of importance. It is so absurd to see how the staff of a Hospital in a developed nation behaves .

I gave birth on June 4 to my little man. The birth unit is super clean and the nurses were amazing what a great experience for a first time mom they all made me feel so special with their attitude and being avilable anytime I needed help for a small hospital the nurses were super experienced and also I was lucky with my great obj dr ade-Conde

Don Lapierre

Biggest waist of tax payers money. They have no care for patients here. They make you wait while they have stupid conversations at the ER desk. If your in pain and looking for medical treatment, you have a better chance going to Milton or Orangeville to get seen. Expect to wait even when there is no one around.

Ken Bailey

Parking is expensive and not very much street parking available in the area.

Faizan Ahmed

Came with a cut to the head and was bleeding. I was made to sit for 3+ hours before the doc saw me. I had to keep asking for ice packs again and again as that was the only thing easing the pain. The doc comes and sees me for 2 mins after the 3+ hour wait and doesn't even stitch it properly. I had bleeding again once I got home and had to go to a different hospital to get properly stitched

We were sent to Georgetown Hospital today for my son for same day surgery on his hand. I read the reviews before going and I didn't know what to expect. The hospital is outdated however, the staff are AMAZING. We started in the ER, the nurses were kind and directed us where to go. Even the early morning security guard was kind to us. Checking in for day surgery was an amazing nurse who went above and beyond. All nurses during and post surgery were kind, informative and really made us feel at ease. Fantastic hospital with great staff, don't tell the old building fool you.

Mohamed Dawood

The worst medical experience I've witnessed in Ontario so far. Nurses and doctors are acting as if they giving us a favor!

Very unprofessional and dismissive. I brought my fiancee to the ER here last night for intense chest pains, shortness of breath, cramps on entire left side and racing heart... the triage nurse was very rude and impatient, acting as if we were burdening her by being there. We waited much longer than we should have considering we came because of intense chest pains, and there was also no one else in the ER. The doctor (Dr. Peter Anderson) took a very long time to see us, and when he finally came he literally had no idea what he was talking about the entire time. The doctor clearly stated that my fiancee was dehydrated which was increasing his pulse, but yet didn't order any saline drip... instead told him to go home and get some rest. The medical staff here DO NOT care about patients and we will not be coming to the Georgetown hospital again.

tayyub shahid

I've been to this hospital twice now and both times I was helped almost immediately. They're really efficient and the staff is generally friendly. I was out of the hospital in two hours or less both times for a broken wrist, and minor injuries from a car accident.

Worst nursing staff ..don't ever go to this hoslital if you need any serious treatment ..they are only good for minor treatment ! Some Nurses are so rude, racists and impolite ..they don't deserve to be in this profession with this lack of compassion !

Drove 40 minutes from Brampton to Georgetown Hospital . Was a good experience ????

Nicole Tytaneck

I had my baby at Georgetown hospital in October 2021 and it was a great experience. I had a scheduled c-section. The nurses were absolutely fantastic, helping me with the baby as needed and taking care of me post partum. Dr. Ada Conde is a fantastic OB who truly cares for his patients.

Fadia Aspinall

I was referred here for day surgery to have a cyst removed from my left ovary. Initially I was worried reading reviews and hearing about racism in Georgetown and the hospital. I can honestly say that I didn't experience any racism and was treated with the same dignity and respect as everyone else. The staff was Amazing from the moment I arrived to the time I left. Everyone was friendly and took the time to answer all of my questions honestly and explain everything to me. They even made a few jokes with me while taking my blood which helped me feel more comfortable. I don't know where the negative reviews come from, perhaps it's because I went for day surgery and not the ER? No one ever wants to have surgery, but If you're going for Day Surgery you're in good hands.

This hospital service is way better than the Brampton hospital thats why myself and my family drive all the way from Brampton to Georgetown and we live 5 minutes from the Brampton hospital. My only issue/concern with this hospital is the slow, slow triage time. Myself and my daughter are here now and have been in this triage line for 1 hour now. Not sure how this us called 'triage' as the response/ assessment time is so very slow. Triage is a quick assessment to be done in a short time after your arrival to the ER. Is not the time for small talk. Get triage assessments done in a timely manner. Watching as people are being triaged is taking these murses almost half an hour for each client. My other issue is you come to ER because your feeling unwell and are standing in line to be triaged. Why are there no seats provided? As a Registered Nurse the triage response time, I feel for this hospital is totally unacceptable. People are sick, standing in a line for over an hour and their conditions can easily deteriorate while waiting. Were is the Compassion, Caring for clients? How is this facility ensuring clients are safe? How are they ensuring our safety?

Nina Sikic

Waiting times at the emergency are always ridiculous. Waiting for 7 hours last night?!!! It is not ‘emergency place’ but rather a very slow and disorganized one!!!

My grandmother was diagnosed with Covid-19 and was taken to this hospital for treatment. Also my grandmother suffers from Alzheimers. We decided to take her to this hospital because she has been there before and we were allowed to send one of our family members to stay with her. but upon arriving they took her away and then informed us afterwards that none of us cant stay with her or see her. It is extremely important in her condition that she has support with her at all times but not only was she denied support, she was also not presented with an interpreter to help her communicate with the staff. We tried countless times, pleading with them to allow one of us to stay with her or allow us as her interpreter or even arrange a video call with her but to no avail. Im appalled at the staff's lack of empathy. instead of trying to make this situation less stressful for the patient and their loved ones, they are adding to our stress with their misinformation regarding her condition and overall affecting the major decisions we have to make regarding her health.

Ghanshyam Patel

Went to ER for urgent treatment on clinic doctors recommendation and did end up getting the immediate treatment and left us off with steps to complete the long term treatment. However it took us 10 hours in the hospital and out of it I would say about 3 hours waiting where time was truly wasted (not waiting for tests or treatments). Still a good review since I always expect ER visits to take long. There could have been more patients than they could handle or other emergencies so I felt I could be patient. Main reason it was a good place was I could see that nurses and doctors were trying to explain everything so you don't get frustrated. There was only one doctor but he kept coming around every so often just to check up and didn't mind when we asked him some of the same questions to confirm. Everyone would tell you policies or treatment information but explain it further rather than getting frustrated at you. We went on a weekday afternoon and there weren't many people in the waiting area but we left at night it was quite full so I thought that could have been a much worse wait for the folks there.

Overrun with people from Brampton usually on the weekends, however they are pretty quick.

My son was born here 3 weeks ago, I had a falling out near the beginning of our 2 day stay with a nurse who called herself, head nurse. She wore head garments and was extremely rude. The hospital itself is in desperate need of on site food options for patients and visitor's. However a few nurses are the reason why my ratings are bumped up. Shouts go out to Avonelle, Michelle, Pamela, Siri, and Dora of the maternal ward. Thank you ladies. You did fantastic at making my wife and I as comfortable as you could, don't ever stop being awesome !

On January 30th I had a full mastectomy on my left breast due to Breast Cancer, and it was done at the Georgetown Hospital. It was a day surgery and my surgeon was amazing! The team that helped her was also amazing! There was a nurse that came out and introduced herself to me, she was lovely, she was very comforting and compassionate. She told me she would take care of me and I felt that was the truth. Then my anesthesiologist came out and he was also very compassionate and tried to make me laugh, while being very professional. Both made me feel safe and that they were all going to take care of me. When I woke up in the recovery room, the nurse was sitting beside me monitoring my vitals. She was lovely, always making sure I was comfortable. I was in recovery until I felt comfortable leaving. They did not rush me out and made sure I was safe to go home. I can't thank all of them enough! They made that horrible day a better one for me.

I should start by saying that I have visited Georgetown Hospital on numerous occasions. I am writing this review as a result of a recent experience by a family member. The same member gave birth at Georgetown Hospital three years ago and received very stellar service. We were amazed at how professional the nurses were which is not something you see frequently in a hospital. Fast forward to the last few months 2019; the same individual was admitted about 2-3 months ago and the experience was far from pleasant. We thought that this could very well be a one-off. Well recently (2 weeks ago), we were back there for a critical surgery and was admitted for 3 days. It was by far the worst encounter any of us has ever had at Georgetown or any hospital, to begin with. After the surgery, the patient was not prescribed morphine which we didn’t know at the time the reason behind it. Her doctor confirmed later and we understood why. However, she was in severe pain as she winced and writhed in the bed. I approached one of the nurses who came in and in a very condescending tone said, “it’s gas pain, you just have to bear it. The doctor did not prescribe morphine”. She kept on going and out talking everyone as she believed she knew it all. As time went on, we requested that she called the doctor to prescribe morphine as the patient was in severe pain to the point where she was in tears. Our request was completely ignored. They decided to give her Tylenol 3 which was harsh on her stomach as she hadn’t eaten in over 24 hours. We decided to have someone from the family spend the night with her. I am happy that we did because what unfolded during the night is nothing anyone should watch their family member go through. This is what happens in hospitals when family members leave and you get that call that your loved one has passed. The pain became unbearable as she screamed and moaned throughout the night. The nurse continued to insist it was “gas pains”. Whether or not she checked the chart, we don’t know. I am not sure if she had an idea what surgery was done and the severity of it. She proceeded to have a verbal altercation with one of the family members as she continued to insinuate that the patient’s pain tolerance is low. Keep in mind that this is someone who had given birth naturally and had been there with worse pains and handled all of it well. As the night progressed, no medication was administered between 9 pm and 4 am. Around 4 am, after the verbal altercation, the nurse decided to contact the doctor who then prescribed morphine. This is what we had suggested since around 9 pm. Instead of suggesting it was “gas pains” she should’ve called the doctor who knows his patient and the history. She was able to sleep at 5 am after a horrific night of pain, moaning, wincing, crying and total distress. In the morning, they failed to provide breakfast since the curtain was drawn. She was awake but they did not take the time to check. When asked why, we were told that because the curtain was drawn, they assumed she was asleep. We then requested to have her breakfast served. We were informed that it doesn’t work that way. They would have to make the rounds first and will be back shortly. We waited for 45 minutes and breakfast was still nowhere to be found. We approached the nurses again and was told to wait for another 20 minutes. Keep in mind that this now Saturday at 9 am and the patient last had food on Thursday at 7 pm. Another verbal altercation saw the breakfast being served immediately. When asking nurses questions, they would answer abruptly without even making eye contact. It is a shame that patients who are already helpless and depend on nurses to at least help are left by themselves as nurses feel like they are being inconvenienced. This was certainly the last visit to this hospital. The lack of care and professionalism is unfathomable. I understand that it’s not an easy job and I know firsthand how difficult it can be because I have family members in the healthcare industry as well.

Update: Not satisfied from mgmt response. My grandmother has Alzheimers and had gotten sick with COVID19. Was admitted to the hospital on Feb. 19. We explained her situation and how due to her circumstances she requires 24 hour assistance. After their much given false hopes we received many broken promises. We were given conflicting statements of her progress to the point that we were told she will be taking her last breaths, which is not the case. The amount of stress and trauma our family has suffered in the past few days is beyond being unbelievable. I would not suggest anyone to bring their loved one to this hospital.

Very pleasant and caring experience compared to other nearby cities hospitals.. Nurses and Doctors are very experienced and caring especially. But it doesn't have advanced machines and not everything can be done here like other big hospitals around.. Especially if you are planning for your kids birth, this is far better place compared to in and around hospitals.

I've been waiting at the hospital for two hours with my sick infant noone cares. Noone has even bothered to check up on her. Credit Valley has wait times but at least the nurse comes out in waiting rooms to assess if people are getting worse. People who came in after me were seen before us and they definately did not seem like they were in severe distress and required immediate attention. Seems as if they are picking and choosing Save yourself and go to a bigger hospital as there is no real difference in wait time. Also, pls so not give me a response of how you guys care about healthcare etc and ask to call you. It's all just a lie to look good on this review platform.

This is the worst hospital, never going here ever again. I went with my boyfriend yesterday and we had to wait nine hours and a half. Five hours in the waiting room, and three hours to be seen by a doctor in the room than another hour for my results. Just to hear “take an Advil it will be better. But He’s still suffering in pain.”

This is the worst hospital I have ever been too, I took my husband here today who had blood gushing down his nose. I asked the triage nurse for water for him and was told that the entire hospital apparently doesn't have "drinking water". She told me to get it from the vending machine. They had 3 different vending machines in the hospital and all were sold out of beverages. I walked all across the hospital, ended up in the maternal ward just to get water and the nurse there told me aswell that I was better off getting water from a store close by because apparently they dont have water. How a hospital doesn't have water to drink is beyond me. Triage nurses are very rude and not helpful at all and hospital is very dirty.

Decided to visit this hospital twice for emergency ???? once for my son eBike accident (hit & run by van) and second time when I got electric shock at work. The staff was very helpful organized from main reception, Triage, Nurse, Doctor and then X-ray staff. Every one worked professionally. Only thing is waiting is too long 4+ hours.

I have been here several times this yeat. Generally the wait times have been minima . Although in the evenings they seem to be alot longer. I required same day surgery twice this past year. Both times, the staff were very attentive. I can't say enough good things about the nursing staff. They were amazing. I would pick this hospital any day of the week over Brampton

Angelo Rueda

My dad had a stroke in their emergency room. They did not recognize any of the signs, ran no tests, and then wrongly diagnosed him with an ear infection. Prescribed no medicine and then gave us an instruction sheet for a half somersault maneuver. Went to St.Michaels a day later and find out that he had a stroke and was in need of immediate care. Avoid this hospital at all costs. He could of possibly died in my home due to their negligence

The wait in emergency is a nightmare. But the staff is courteous.

THIS review is regarding the maternity ward at this hospital. Let me start of by saying.. if you are looking for a place to give birth and be taken care of this is the hospital. First and foremost I'd like to thank my obgyn Dr. Ade- Conde for rushing me from my appointment to this hospital as he saw a concern in my water retention levels.. if it wasn't for Dr. Ade- Conde,I don't know where I'd be today. Secondly, the staff at this hospital including giva who helped me throughout the whole day in labor was very helpful and kind.. she held my hand through it all.. and assisted me in so many ways possible.. I could never thank her enough. Also, Sandy was very very helpful as well she helped me through my labor and delivery of my baby.. even things like helping me feed the baby at 3am in my hospital stay to even checking blood sugars, and helping assist me with the carseat setup. Another great person there is Cheryl she's very kind and funny and well expierenced (which believe me goes a long way when it's your first child). Lastly, Dr karimu who helped deliver the baby and helped with my stitches after birth.. he was funny and kind for my delivery being late at night. Overall, I can't thank everyone from this maternity ward for all they've done. Excellent staff. 5+++ stars.

Had a stress test done. I feel when I asked a question and the response I was given was I told you that. I do not find that professional. I was not advised about caffiene before test. Lastly the lady who did the testing really liked to gloat as I stated earlier. Lastly I asked if she wanted to see copies of my medication she responded with well that's why we asked you to bring them. I was not sure if she wanted them or the Doctor. I will add I was there in 2009 for a day surgery with Dr. Lesley Barron whom was great. I filed a complaint after that visit. Just rude unfriendly staff. Can someone please tell me why on my 2 visits I received rude service ? I was so close to just walking out beforethe doctor even arrived. He did'nt even introduce himself. I also waited at the parking gate upon leaving for a credit card receipt to which never did print.

Interesting to see the majority of bad reviews are from people from Brampton. I have been in to this Hospital several times and each time I have received good care. I do find though that for a small hospital they do get an extraordinary amount of people from out of town which often makes the emergency department swamped. Wait times have doubled on busy days. Also being a smaller hospital they dont have the same amount of staff a larger hospital would have, so yes on busy days you will wait longer!

I came here at 7.00pm with only about 7 people ahead of me. I have been sitting here at midnight and I have NOT seen the doctor as yet. I am.not sure. What's the hold up and this is an emergency. I think this should be faster. If they need to bring more staff then do so... disappointed

If I could give this hospital 0 stars, I would. My grandmother had the misfortune of having to come to this hospital for care. She was diagnosed with covid-19, and also has Alzheimer's. During her time here, the staff of the hospital were extremely negligent, they miscommunicated greatly, and they failed to provide virtual technology for her to communicate with her family. Every time staff were contacted, we were given a different answer on her status. One would say she’s stable, one would say she is having a very difficult time and is in critical condition, and another even complained about my grandmother being difficult and trying to remove her IV and face mask countless times. When we told the nurse that this behaviour was common due to her cognitive condition, the nurse admitted to not even knowing my grandmother has Alzheimer’s disease. The lack of empathy, care, and medical support from Georgetown Hospital is outstanding. I wouldn't suggest anyone to go to this hospital - especially someone elderly who needs special care.

Ambrish Rajyaguru

Such a great staff and care about patients in this hospital. Admitted for one night on 4th Jan for Covid treatment. Doctors , nurses and supporting staffs are very friendly and serious about there efforts . We simply love Georgetown hospital ????

The nurse in charge November 19 2021 3: 00 pm shift should not be looking after people she is rude and have no manners. Her communication is nil, she is snappy and awful and her colleagues were no better. I felt sorry for her patients. I wont be referring anyone to that hospital ever. The administration need to do something 3 stars for a hospital is just awful and I see why. Last Mon. I took my disabled daughter to Georgetown Hospital for a test. Noon app......with her counscelor & driver from Oakland's (Central West) .........the Volunteer escorted us to the room. Nela took the info & walked us to the x-ray room, she is a delight & I have NEVER in all the years of taking my daughter to hospitals had such a good reception & kindness, even the receptionist asked if all went ok. Humanity is alive & well.........not robitic..............people said Hello in the halls. WOW I was blown away & told everyone my experience. I used to live in Georgetown in the 70's but had no reason to visit the hospital, Thank God! Other hospitals shound take note of this & try to immulate. I felt like part of a Family, Bravo Georgetown & it all comes from the top........Thanks again for all the care & kindness Darlene received .Regards, Reynelda

We had a great experience at this hospital as my wife had a terrible pain in her lower back related to a 10 year old possible C-section Endometriosis. While waiting to see a surgeon in Ottawa, this immediate issue had to be solved and we went to this hospital. The nurses in ER were very quick and said bloodwork and urinanalysis were needed, immediately taken before even seeing the doctor based on the information we provided. The doctor seen her assured everything is alright but referred an expedited ultrasound the next morning, and sure enough they called us the very next morning from Diagnostic Imaging at this same hospital and the imaging technician was very plesant and explained the procedure very well and made sure she was comfortable during the imaging. When this was completed she had to go back to ER again, re-register and saw another doctor with ultrasound findings, assuring everything is alright and well explained to her. When she walked out of the hospital last Monday, she said I have a very positive feeling toward her health condition based on the support and care of the Georgetown Hospital team's true care towards their patients. We really appreciate your team's dedication and caring. Thank You!

I would just like to say I had an amazing experience at the Georgetown Hospital I just left there 3 minutes ago and it was so good I felt compelled to write this review. The lady that a rung into the emergency was very persistent on working out the issues in my house cartoon sure that I wouldn't have to pay which I was amazing thank you I don't know her name but she was at the emergency checking people in at this hour... and my nurse was a very small but extremely adorable female, named Jackie. Unfortunately that's all the information I have but she made it fun. She was very careful and considerate when putting in the needle and attaching my IV.... Which I am doomed to wear for next three days. I almost wish I had to go back around the same time she was workin. The doctor was very very concise and didn't keep me waiting too long...and most of all I didn't feel like I was being rushed by him. I never review anything ...that should tell you how great my experience was. Thank you

I had to take my mother in law to Georgetown hospital emergency as she is sick and she fell and wasn’t able to put weight on her leg. We live on Mississauga td rd and Bovaird and Georgetown is closer to us than Brampton civic. Anyways, so we were sent home and told we’d have to come back to do a CT scan. The lady from the CT scan called me this morning at first thing she said to me was “do you speak English” like what is that even suppose to mean... Then further into our conversation she asked me “why didn’t you go to your local hospital” and to top it all off when I asked her for a later time to come in she responded with “well you were in the emergency so I’m amusing you had an emergency so no you can’t come later” I have never had so much disrespect out of one individual in my life. And in 2018 I felt like she was discriminating me because of ethicity.

This hospital is unprofessional 6 months ago I went in to see about doing a pregnancy text with the doctor I get told no.... even though I already knew I was pregnant I needed a doctor to confirm it..... then ive been trying to get my daughter in to see a doctor about her kidney because I was told to call and book an appointment after she turns a year but her doctor there is only in once a week I've left messages after messages and no has called me back nothing..... this week I've spent my time calling over and over again to get switch from department to department just to find out today that she doesn't work there anymore... then to get attitude from the woman at the admin office.... I would highly recommend that no one go to this hospital you'd get better service going to orangeville or even Toronto.....

I just called the ER to find out what is better or less of a drain on our limited medical resources... a walk in clinic or the ER. Much to my surprise, I was told a walk in clinic. I would really appreciate a call from the Hospital to explain the poor reviews. It is based on the following article : Mom haunted by drive to Georgetown Hospital ER Burlington Post The Brampton mother of a little girl who died in the back seat of their car on the way to hospital last month chose to drive an extra 6 km to Georgetown Hospital rather than go to the ER at the closer Brampton Civic Hospital. Kuldip Thindal’s daughter Ruby suddenly died June 15, just minutes from Georgetown Hospital. Thindal is haunted by the questions that had she called 911, or gone to the Brampton Hospital would her daughter had survived? Ruby’s parents were taking her to hospital because she complained of a tummy ache. After her death, doctors told Ruby’s parents she had H1N1 influenza virus. The Brampton hospital is about 15 km from the Thindal’s home, while Georgetown Hospital is roughly 21 km away. “Our family has always gone to Georgetown Hospital,” Thindal said. “It takes way too long at Brampton (Civic) and I feel more comfortable (at Georgetown).” Wait times for ER are longer at Brampton Civic. According to the Ontario Ministry of Health there was an average 17.5 hour wait time for patients with complex conditions at the emergency department of Brampton Civic in February, the latest available data. The hours indicate the complete length of stay in emergency. The wait time at the Georgetown Hospital for the same period was 6.3 hours. In February, there were almost 2,350 visits to the ER, compared to more than 7,190 at Brampton Civic. While wait times are longer at the Brampton Civic Hospital, that’s not the only reason many in that city, specifically in the Punjabi community, are wary of the hospital. When it opened 18 months ago, two patients died within a few weeks amid allegations they had been misdiagnosed and mistreated. Amid street protests, Ontario appointed a supervisor to restore public confidence in the hospital. Three top executives at the facility resigned. “Things at Brampton Civic are getting better,” said Jagtar Shergill, a member of Brampton Health Coalition. “The wait times are getting shorter and the staff is more understanding to patients’ needs. But there’s lingering mistrust from months ago.” Another Brampton resident who prefers to use Georgetown Hospital is Yadevinder “Nick” Mutta. When his wife, Natasha, was bruised in a melee at a bar recently, she went to Georgetown Hospital. “She was back home within three hours,” said Mutta, adding it would have taken twice or even three times as long at Brampton Civic. Mutta, who has kidney problems, is a regular visitor to hospitals, and always goes first to Georgetown Hospital. Georgetown Hospital’s Chief Operating Officer, Cindy McDonell said the Georgetown Hospital Emergency Department draws patients from north, south, east and west of Georgetown. She said a huge percentage of patients are from Halton Hills, “but it’s not unusual for us to see patients from Oakville, Burlington, even south Mississauga, as well as west Brampton and north of Halton Hills.” She said the hospital does not keep track of where the patients are coming from. “An OHIP card entitles (people) to care anywhere in the province,” said McDonell. She said in the ER department a person’s wait time comes down to severity of illness. “The sicker patients are seen first,” she said. Over the past four years she said the hospital ER department has been experiencing an increasing volume of patients. Last year the number of emergency visits increased at the hospital by 8 per cent. She cites population growth and the fact the hospital has hired a new obstetrician and general surgeon as reason for the increased number of ER visits at Georgetown hospital.

I've been waiting in the Emergency room for 8 hours and no one has seen me. People who came after me have seen a doctor and left hours ago. After I do blood work , a nurse told me that I am going to have to wait another few hours to get my results back from the doctor. Worst ER experience I've ever had and I will not be coming back here. They don't treat your Emergency as it should be treated and they pick and choose who they want to help first!

Neil Villella

Took my 1 year old little boy here when he was running a very high fever and not well. The nurses and doctors were so caring and excellent with him, not to mention the knowledge was top shelf in the ER from nurses and doc on call. I would go back again if I had another family emergency.

We were asked to her blood work done by our family doctor, due to anomaly in earlier blood work done. The wait time was 3 hours and the triage nurse Diane was great. It was about 3 am in the morning and my dad being a kidney patient was feeling uneasy due to not being able to do dialysis. I just had gentle inquiry from the nurse regarding the wait times, which I was told that they are unsure and that was fine. And, finally the doctor came and she spent about 5 minutes with us, out of which she only spent 1 minute discussing about medical condition. Rest of the time she kept on ranting how much overworked she is. She was very rude and disrespectful and told that we were just harassing the nurses by asking about wait times. It was just a normal conversation with the nurse, since my dad was in discomfort. But, the doctor over there needs to be professional and be more respectful with the patients.

Kali

Unfortunately had to go to the ER a couple weeks back and chose this one over the Brampton one as they were both equal distances away. Overall, had a pretty good experience here (as far as ER experiences go, that is). Nurses doing triage were extremely efficient and warm. Still ended up being a day long event, but I guess that is the case at any ER. I especially appreciated the student nurse (sorry I didn't get his name - the one working January 8th) who was especially thorough in his work and seemed to truly care. When I finally saw the doctor, she was also thorough and took the time to talk about my symptoms and didn't just rush through things as I had experienced at other places. Overall, it was a fairly good experience. The waiting environment seemed better than I'd expect other ERs to be, but be prepared for it to still be a long day.

Tl;dr: Amazing CT scan experience. I went for a CT scan as an outpatient and the hospital was very organized and clean. The receptionist was helpful and nice - she personally walked me to the area. Jackie and Louise (or maybe Lyn - I am sorry I didn't catch her name) were really great - they were empathetic, explained every aspect of the procedure, and were very personable. They really calmed my nerves. They were on time for the procedure and it only took about 15 minutes total. I am glad I went here! Thank you to those who helped me!

Horrible doctors and nurses. Majority of staff incredibly rude. No one is happy answering questions. I waited 2 hours for an x ray when no one else was in line. Worse hospital in Ontario. Majority of staff gives one word replies in response to any questions or concerns I have. I was told I was discharged and still had to wait for an hour just for a nurse to come to my room and wheel me out. Doctors and nurses are talking and laughing with eachother while patients are waiting for hours. I waved to a nurse to ask her to come so I can ask a question and in return she turned around after spotting me and walked the other way. I deeply regret coming to this hospital, I don’t feel I was adequately treated.

Doctor couldn't spot a lung infection by a WHITE LUMP on x-ray of lungs. Dismissed like nothing was wrong only to find it out it could be fatal if we had left it. Years before the doctor dismissed my brother was a broken arm without attending to it as well. The doctors here simply do not care. Go to the clinic in Superstore they immediately noticed a problem and actually care about their patients.

Ridiculous to live in Georgetown and had to wait for 5 hours in a emergency waiting room overcrowded with patients from Brampton that bring their 10 family members as an escort to hospital

If there would have been an option of 0 stars, I'd have selected that. Emergency is a joke man , C'mon. I had a sudden migraine problem and went there in a hurry without my wallet and my ID. After two hours, my turn came, they asked me to verify myself with my ID first. I told the nurse that I called at home and someone's bringing my ID. The nurse was like Aghh! No way we need an ID first. I requested them alot but no chance they can even look at the suffering patient. Is this the medical staff of such a renowned hospital? Is this thing even humane? It doesn't end here. I went at noon and it was 10:00 pm when I wasn't even checked by any doctor. I came home disappointed without even being checked and had such a terrifying experience.

Arrived after 7pm and it's now 11:30pm still haven't seen a Dr. At check in I got the impression that we were not supposed to be here and was asked if we have a family Dr. The last I checked I pay lots of taxes as a Canadian citizen which contributes to paying the Healthcare workers in Ontario. I delivered my baby boy on May in this small, tiny hospital;but surprisingly the staff were amazing and very knowledgeable, my only downside was when they used new orientees for looking after me ,who did not have enough confidence or knowledge as the other staff. overall I had a very good experience there, especially with my wonderful OB( Dr Ade-Conde) and his on call replacement ( Dr Torres)

Being born in Georgetown hospital and still living in Georgetown, my recent experiences have been horrible. I do not recommend this hospital to anyone. I had a cough for a week or so prior. Then I worke up in the middle of the night with an intense sharp pain in my left side of my chest around the lower rib cage. Waking up from the pain and not being able to take a full breath in, I headed to the Georgetown hospital right away. They took me in for a ecg which was protocol for chest pain. Then sent me back to the empty waiting room for hours before calling me in to see a nurse. Which at this point I was waiting in a wheel chair because the pain in my chest was so intense. I could not lay sit or stand without being in extreme pain, & started coughing up flem with blood in it. The nurse said it probably just a tear in my throat from coughing so much. They took blood and rolled me down to have an X-ray. Which then they said nothing came up in the X-ray and I probably have a chest infection. Sent me home with no antibiotics and no script for the pain. Shortly after I got home my fiancé took me to Orangeville hospital, which they had me in right away ecg, blood, X-ray and it came back showing I had full blown pneumonia in my lower left chest along with a partial collapsed lung and fluid in and around my lung. Orangeville sent me home with everything I need and staff was amazing. Be extra cautious with children and elders with the same symptoms. Do NOT take them to Georgetown hospital.

I highly recommend Dr. Ade-Conde at Georgetown hospital. He monitored my entire pregnancy, took all my complaints seriously and was very professional. I definitely received the best health care during my stay at Georgetown hospital where I delivered my baby. The nurses were super knowledgeable and experienced. Through this Covid-19 year, I'm sure all hospitals have procedures and protocols that must be followed. Sometimes I see that, they may be followed, but what I don't see is common sense or discretion or respect. I was admitted to this hospital and I was vomiting profusely for 2 days. I had a night nurse who was of Asian decent. I asked if she could take my vomit tray away, emptied it in the sink and gave it back to me. I asked her if she could clean it for me, she threw In the trash and gave me another. Later I asked if she could empty my other tray. She then proceeded to give me a vomit bag. I asked her if she could throw it away, because I could not get out of bed. She told me to keep it so that I can use it all night. Left it dropped over my bed rail. I was mortified. Then a young nurse helps me for 2 nights, I believe her name is MARIE. What an absolute caring angel she is. Not just for me but all the ladies in the room and on the first floor. She is what a NURSE should be. Compassionate human being. She should be the EMBASSADOR OF THE HOSPITAL.

My experience with Halton Healthcare (specifically, Georgetown Hospital) left me with both prolonged physical illness/injury, as well as emotional trauma from my experience of dismissive attitudes, ableism, and medical negligence by healthcare professionals. My experience started prior to the Pandemic, dating back 2016- early 2021 and I am only gaining the courage to speak, now. I truly regret communicating with and filing a complaint with Patient Relations almost a year ago, as It left me feeling that the blame was placed on me for my poor experience. I received no empathy or willingness to actively listen , and nothing was actually achieved or followed through on in the end. Patient relations officers are employed by Halton Healthcare, and through my own experience, I found the people that are supposed to be “helping” patients to be defensive, slightly argumentative and uncaring at best. I wish I had never contacted them and just stayed silent. This is all very disappointing. I have never abused the medical system, emergency services and use the ER if only absolutely necessary. I try my very best to be a polite and agreeable patient because I know healthcare workers’ jobs are thankless and stressful in the best of times but it should, in theory, go both ways. I do my best to be proactive, follow professional advice, and take care of my own health with the resources that are available outside of the hospitals but sometimes the ER and hospital admissions are unavoidable. The last place I want to be is in a hospital, especially right now. I didn’t choose to have a rare condition and I would sacrifice everything I have in my life to achieve wellness. It scares me to imagine how I may have been treated if I was a physically or verbally challenging patient or a patient without my full faculties. I do feel fortunate that after my traumatic experience, I advocated for myself (outside of Halton Healthcare) and I am getting the proper, competent care and treatment from two Toronto academic hospitals. Not everyone can advocate for themselves or have the supports to assist them, I was grateful that I had the strength within myself to do so. There seem to be only two genders of patients receiving care, “brave men” and “emotional women” and if doctors can move past their personal biases and just listen to a patient, perhaps things can be dealt with properly before worse events happen. I hope that no one else has to experience what I did. It has left me with detrimental impacts (severe chronic and life-altering illness not being treated) and a deep fear and distrust in the medical community, which is not a good feeling to have when you require ongoing care at medical facilities. I know this a funding and systemic problem that goes much deeper than Halton Healthcare itself, but I really do hope our medical system can improve one day, including empathy and kindness from the professionals who are in a helping profession and hold medical authority over the most vulnerable people, the sick/disabled.

Avoid if you can for ER. Very understaffed, no short waiting periods like everyone says. Came here on a slow weekday and waiting over 8 hours to see a doctor. Very poor hospital for ER.. not their fault they are simply understaffed for the increased volume with the new residential developments in the area

Ann Binsted

I came into the hospital with so much pain in my shoulder I felt like I couldn't breathe. After ultrasounds and x-rays from other clinics previously, I didn't know what the outcome would be of going to the ER. I was so comfortable here. The nurses were friendly and compassionate! The Dr. diagnosed the issue right away with a portable ultrasound, and recommended he do the procedure right then and there! I am now on the mend and with the proper diagnosis, and treatment I received here, I can get proper physio and care on my own. Thank you Dr. Neil D.

andrew schmitz

Been here in the emerg for four and one half hours for something that will take the doctor ten minutes to diagnose. Just LET patients know what the wait time will be.

Great staff. Had an intern that looked shell shocked when dealing with my injury but they coped well with the doctors help. This hospital is getting overwhelmed with people coming from Brampton because they think it's will be quicker than their home hospital and complain when they have to wait (i saw this happen while i was waiting). This isn't fair for the locals or the staff

mike s

Wouldn’t take my dog there

kiran grewal

Sitting here since last five hours Empty place , senior gentleman is here from last 6 hours. Nurses come pass by no courtesy to update or any word. I asked for estimated time and she said could be very long.someone referred as this is less busy which I agree as compare to other hospitals but. Less busy as less staff too but whoever is here aren’t very efficient.

Alex Santamaria

We arrived and there was a huge line. We saw the nurse in 15-20 mins, and the doc popped my baby's dislocated elbow back in on the spot. Great job, only reason it wasn't 5 stars was the lineup and full waiting room. Was pleasantly surprised

L'Orange Magnifique

Brought my mom to have a heimlich valve removed from chest. Waited half an hour to get an x-ray, two hours standing in a line to see someone, another two hours in the waiting room, another two hours waiting in an ER room, and another two hours waiting in the ER waiting room. Since the doctor we came to see was so busy we asked if another doctor could remove the valve; the other doctor refused because she didn't put the valve in in the first place (neither did the doctor we had come to see).

Kasia S

Waiting it's to long :( emergency and no one care.

Harpreet Mehat

Not happy with their service..we waited 3 hours with my 3 years old dauhhter ,it wasn't busy at all..only one couple before us..when Dr. Didnt see us for 2 hours ..I asked nurse but she said we have more people to see us before..when i got upset Dr. Came right away..doesnt make sense..people were done before us who came after us..nurse was rude and said it's not true...If it's like this super slow day..I wonder what they do on busy days..

J S

I went to the emergency room 3 weeks ago. The wait time was close to 4-5 hours but emergency was busy that afternoon/evening. The nurse who checked me in was good and would check up on me while I was waiting. When I got a room, the nurse looking after me wasn't great but I had an amazing experience with a P.A. (I won't post her name for privacy reasons). She was beyond amazing! She was very knowledgable, understanding, empathetic, kind, patient, and compassionate. She was attentive and took the time to make sure I was okay and answer any concerns I had. She was also explaining things to my mother and answering any questions she had as well. This is the first time I was content with a hospital visit. In the past, I have felt that doctors brush off certain female issues. So it was nice to have someone who genuinely cared for my wellbeing. I am beyond grateful for her care and help. 4 stars because the cleanliness of the hospital could be much better & the nurse working inside of emergency was not great.

This hospital is absolutely wonderful . I am writing this review for Two Racists who had put reviews Tiago Faria Toby Reeks Well Ms Faria since you go to all stores in BRAMPTON , it is highly hypocritical of you to put thaa review . I thought since you are so against people coming to Georgetown you yourself would stay and shop there only . Dude you have been reviewing Brampton stores and want brampton folks out of Georgetown Wow . Now Mr reeks . Please go online and put a petition for your request to mR premier . And please keep it online K would love to read the lit comments you will recieve

nicole graham

Great staff, decent wait time, no thanks to KATHLEEN WYNNE(LOSE)

The hospital is very dirty and nurses are very lazy they don't like to help patience. But good part doctor S. Weetman is smart and agencies. She checked patience properly and don't wast time in stupid stuff.

Adrian McDonald

Worst decision to come here instead of Brampton waited 3 1/2 hours had not seen anyone. Walked out.

James Drynan

Xander Bargis

Absolute worst ER I have ever been to. They are unorganized. Waiting 6+hours in waiting room just for results on the test I already had THIS MORNING. Should not be left waiting this long especially since they didn't want me eating since lastnight! Get a Grip Georgetown

nav k

Had wonderful experience there . Only downside was the Dietary management , got only one meal during my 48 hour stay inspite of reminding several times . Other than that ObS staff was excellent . Would like to Thank Dr Ade and his whole team for making my experience such a nice one . ????????

Karla Chapman

Wow, much shorter lineups and the hospital is very clean. Doctor had amazing bedside manner and was truly empathetic. Great experience and loved he the organized registration process.

Really I like this hospital staff & management. Staffs are friendly & polite. They are very understanding & make patients comfortable.Thank you so much again.

Mike Quinn (Mike)

I've been to this hospital a lot over the years and most recently a few months ago. They're a small hospital servicing a growing area but there ER wait times are comparable to other hospitals. The hospital is clean and in a nice area of town. Parking is pretty good. The staff in my experience have always been extremely friendly and helpful. I've been in for two hand injuries recently and both times they took care of me no problems. Dr Busse was my most recent doctor and she was amazing, she fixed my hand up great. Would definitely recommend.

Dave Gruter

Georgetown Hospital is a small community hospital located in Georgetown, Ontario. They do a good job with the resources that they have. However, Georgetown Hospital cannot provide for all your medical needs. For example the hospital does not have an ICU, if you have significant medical issues it is not a good idea to go to Georgetown Hospital. You might be better off going to larger hospital that has an intensive care unit. Georgetown hospital does not have dialysis, MRI, bone scan, infectious disease doctors, cardiologists, endocrinologists, limited obstetrics, respirologists, hematologists, oncologists. In summary - if you have a simple straight forward medical issue, Georgetown Hospital can probably help you. If you have an extremely complicated medical issue that no one else can solve, there is a good chance Georgetown Hospital will not be able to help you. You are probably better off waiting at a larger hospital, that has more resources.

Rani Gill

Don't ever come to this hospital. 13 hours waiting time that's really bad.

Denise Francis

We brought our daughter to Georgetown Hospital this afternoon and we left completely satisfied with her treatment. The doctor had a tremendous bedside manner and put our daughter at ease immediately. Believe it or not, we were in and out within 1 hour! This is truly unheard of. Kudos to the doctors, nurses and staff at Georgetown Hospital!!

Disorganized and poor customer service. Received multiple confirmation calls that I would show up for my appointment but when I showed up nobody had a clue who I was or what was going on. Most disgusting customer service I’ve ever seen at a hospital

Alana Hendrixx

Worst hospital ever. It was completely empty, and still waited about 1 full hour while I was in excruciating pain. They were very nonchalant and rude . definitely a racist hospital!!! Do not coke here if you’re of colour, they will let you sit and suffer in pain. I can’t believe the experience I had today. Smh

Well I went in for a pinched nerve causing me dizziness, difficulty breathing full breaths, and an inability to eat my muscles were so tense over my stomach. They had me attached to a heart monitor at one point but after that only blamed my symptoms on anxiety and refused to help more than recommending me take an advil or a hot bath although I had had this pinched nerve for 5 weeks. Now I'm seeing a massage therapist, a physio therapist, and a chiropractor for a pinched nerve in my chest and back. I'm horribly disappointed that no one gave me a physical at all or offered solutions to my fainting spells. They will only help if it's something on the surface.

Gurmeet Bhumrah

Nice service , supportive staff but only problem i faced was no washroom facility for the visitors eve staff allows and the morning staff doesnt. Even i went to kids hospital in downtown toronto they also allow to use washrooms . Atleast arrange portable washrooms for the people who wait hours in the parking spot .

Karanbir Singh

This is the most horrible hospital ever. I used to come here before and had wonderful service, a quick in and out. There was literally 7 people in the staff and they were just talking and hanging out. The doctor literally was standing and eating chips and when I approached her twice, she continued eating and paid no regards to what I said meanwhile people after us have gone and checked out. It has now been 3.5 hours and the doctor hasn't come back to us.

Gerry Johnston

Not happy with the treatment I received

Thalia Lopez

attended lastnight due to a miscarriage, initially called before going to ensure my husband can accompany me, the lady who answered on the switchboard said yes. This was false, no visitors allowed. Waited 2 hours and when i went out of my room to ask a time range for when i will be seen in tears because of my intense bleeding, the doctor and the nurse just looked at me, and continued their conversation. i picked up my things and left, and havent heard from anyone since. worse traumatizing degrading experience, extremely rude people. Especially all being women with zero empathy is the thing that shocks me the most. first and last time at this hospital.

Rajeev Khurana

Great service, in and out in 2 hours with several test results completed.

Lyn Hunter

If I could give less than one star I would. I was taken by ambulance to this hospital from Neworld detox center because my body had blown up like a balloon and I was short of breath. I arrived at night and all of the diagnostics were closed. I was given an IV by a nurse who didn't know how to do it and I bled profusely everywhere soaking the sheets and my clothes. I was sent back to detox after being told that I was constipated. In actual fact I had a severe blood clot. This blood clot broke off and travelled to my lung and I got a pulmonary embolism which can and usually causes death. I am very lucky to still be here. This hospital misdiagnosed a dangerous blood clot that had caused a pulmonary embolism for *constipation*. No tests were completed. Had I died it would be on them. Complete incompetency and not to mention prejudice because I came from the detox facility. A disgrace of a hospital. And notice that the responses to the bad reviews are all cut and paste copies of each other. They don't even care enough to leave a personalised message, or look into your complaint.

The Nurses and Doctors are always so friendly and looking to help. Everyone helps to keep you comfortable in

The only good thing about this hospital is Dr. Cooper. He is such a friendly and helpful and informative Doctor. Worst Doctor would have to be Dr Marriage. She needs a reality check on how to treat patients. I've never met a ruder Doctor in my entire life. Wait times are horrendous and once you are brought to the back to be seen, more waiting. I'm from Burlington and if I was closer to Joseph Brant Hospital, that is clearly where I would be going

Top Muzz

excellent hospital and top nurses, really good care

Mohsin Jamil

GOOD HOSPITAL WITH VERY GOOD AND CARING DOCTORS/ STAFF.

Kaila Ann

Excellent care! We went in at 3 am my daughter wS having trouble breathing and they took her in immediately. The doctors and nurses actually listened to me and helped my baby so much. Dr Michael zettler we saw and he made it such a positive experience. The night before we were in Brampton hospital and what a horrible experience. No one listened to me and the doctor didn’t even come back. Thank you so much to Georgetown hospital and dr zettler for helping my little girl !!

Jeff Lewis

Freesa Khan

The staff was very dismissive of my grandmothers condition and gave us false hope with no remorse to their shortcomings. I would not recommend this hospital even if you are dying!

Christa Tandara

Don’t come here. I arrived at emergency at 11:15 am and I’m still sitting here at 4:56 pm , first step triage and that’s all I accomplished so far I have never had this type of wait at any hospital , this is my first and last visit here .

Marie-Claire

Visited this emergency clinic on Wednesday morning, I was alone and in a lot of pain. I am so grateful for everyone that had helped me. From the triage nurse, the er nurse, Dr Marriage and of course the fantastic X-ray technician who helped ease my anxiety by explaining everything! Thank you so much for your help Georgetown Hospital :)

Amanda

Worse place ever! Exceptionally rude! I called the emergency department and the lady gave me short answers, didn't even answer my question and then hung up on me. When I called back she hung up in me again. Why is my tax dollars paying for people like this!! This is why our health services are gone to crap. The should have these calls recorded because this is totally unacceptable. I wouldn't donate a dollar to this place. Definitely needs a clean up on they're staff members. That's the reason why people from Georgetown rather go to Brampton civic hospital over they're own hospital. ABSOLUTE DISGRACE!!!!

Tahir Hassan

Demeanor of hospital staff is rude and careless

nikita singh

Let me start off by saying eventually the assistance was good and I'm grateful for being treated. But started off really bad. And it is their obligation, after all. I was polite the entire time and did as they asked but was often passed by or ignored then my nebulizer has been empty for +30 minutes TWICE. I was there between 11 and 3. 4 hours attending to one patient when it isn't busy is ridiculous. I encountered 5 individuals today and 3 asked me why I was in Georgetown. I live in Brampton but this is the closest hospital to me. Regardless however, it doesn't matter where I live. I don't know if it I because I'm a person of colour or the staff including the doctor was rude until I caught them sitting around and asked pushed to ask questions. Doctors and nurses hustled out of the room and hardly gave me a chance to ask questions that are still unanswered. By the way, I was in emergency today at the urging of my walk in doctor for trouble breathing. It was during the day, today, and I was the 1st to be seen out of the group of people who were processed at the same time. I commented to my wife in my room that it is odd the my OHIP works in the entire province but it's clear they don't like treating residents from outside of their town. I was CONSTANTLY asked by 3 different individually why I'm in Georgetown. NOT "what can I help you with," "how are you feeling?" Or "what can we do for you at the hospital today?" I was also asked by the 2nd intake staff after speaking to the very sweet intake nurse about my health card and rudely lectured about it. She knew I was there for a breathing issue ajd terrified about it but was more than happy to make asinine comments to me about my health card. Absolutely inappropriate. No compassion what do ever. I am unsure if anyone heard me or not but the doctor was nicer when he finally returned from some paperwork and +1 hour of talking with a colleague. He didnt know I could see him from the room i was in and kept track. He ended by welcoming me back for more help, notably kinder and more patient than before. I am not the first person to receive this awful treatment from this hospital. I absolutely understand that working in Emergency is more complex and nuanced than it seems. However I do no what it feels like not to be treated equitably. It feels like I was forced to wait on purpose. I've received better treatment here in the past. please return to that kindness, equity and quick and compassionate treatment I've received before.

Tiffany Nosotti

Worst experience ever I have a huge fever chest pains and can't breathe and I'm still here 4.5 hours later I thought the Brampton was bad but this hospitals staff truly don't care about the patients its very sad that the place we go to when we have an emergency is the worst place to go if I were you I'd talk to the staff about there laziness

Truck Driver

100% Better than Brampton Hospital.

Indian people are taking up the waiting rooms...there has to be rules..

Felicite Ndayizeye

I used to like this hospital before and I refer many friends and Family but couple years I heard worst time wait/ customers services and today I experienced my self ...waiting time was worst,... customer service in front..etc...so far we are waiting more than two hours after paying 900$ because my cousin is international student and they didn’t accept his insurance card... this must change

I am totally not sure why people write so many negative reviews about medical staff. They work very hard and in very challenging situations! I had to be seen for in issue today at Georgetown hospital. The service was above excellent from the front entrance to all the medical professionals. Nurse Karen was super attentive and caring. Thank you very much for this. Doctor Daly took care of me. Doctors like her deserve an award! Caring, fantastic bedside manner and treated me with a lot of respect. I am an immigrant and I am a also a senior. Doctor Daily listened to every question I had, explained everything in detail, and did not rush. Thank you! Doctors like Daly make Halton Hills Healthcare stand out. Georgetown Hospital should be proud to have her on staff.

2021 UPDATE: About 18 months after I wrote the review below, we had another baby boy at Georgetown Hospital. We were nervous because of COVID but our experience with the birth of our first son gave us some reassurance that we would be taken care of in this hospital. We were surprised that the Maternity ward had been moved because of Covid related reasons. However, Dr. Ade-Conde, his team, and the nurses pulled through once again. We want to give a special mention to Pamela, Dora, and Avonelle who took great care of my wife and the baby during the scheduled c-section pre-op and post-op. We are really so grateful for the staff at this hospital!! Thank you!!! The Georgetown Hospital Nurses and doctors were amazing! Our baby boy was born in this hospital and their maternity ward was busy but the Nurses never failed to check up on us. They were phenomenal and so attentive to our needs as new parents. Dr. Ade-Conde and his team performed the C-section and reassured my wife and I every step of the way. We can't say enough about this hospital. Thank you to the whole maternity ward team, especially the nurses who worked during our stay there, you were incredible!!

This hospital should be shut down and is a sorry excuse for a hospital!!!! My father went to the ER and was refused treatment. He was in severe pain and begged the Doctor for help but he was sent home. Less than two days later my father was brought in by ambulance to the ER. I arrived to the ER to find my father left alone and ignored by the nurses while he went into septic shock. My father had severe sepsis and because of the negligence of the ER Doctor he could have died at home. My father spent days in the intensive care recovering from sepsis. Weak, frail and still unwell I received a call from my father who was panicked and stressed stating that they wanted to kick him out and send him home alone by taxi. I had asked repeatedly for the nurse s to inform me when was to be released as he was to be released in my care. I never received a phone call and was told at the end of the day 30 minutes prior that they would be sending my father home by taxi. My father is 80 years old and suffered the worse form of sepsis which because of their negligence almost killed him. I pleaded with the Head Nurse to let him stay overnight and that I would be by to pick him up first thing in the morning. No one brought my father dinner that evening nor did anyone check on him. An elderly man who they nearly killed. I brought my father to St Michael’s hospital that very same day where we were treated with respect, compsssion and dignity. The doctor at St Michael’s said it was one of the worse cases of sepsis he had seen and that my father was lucky to be alive. I am disgusted and appalled with Georgetown hospital. The worse experience ever please do yourself a favour and do not go to this hospital. Your life could be at risk with the negligence of the nurses and doctors in this joke of a hospital!!!!!

The only time you should ever go to Georgetown Hospital is if you are in a life or death situation and don't have a choice. I went here recently after having swelling and very bad pain in my arm as I thought I had an arm infection. I have type 1 diabetes and take immuno suppressant medication and as such don't ever take chances when it comes to stuff like this. After doctor ran blood tests and an ultrasound, I was sent on my way and told to come back if things didn't improve or got any worse. They didn't even prescribe me antibiotics or anything just to be on the safe side. To top it all off, the doctor asked if I wanted an arm sling before leaving to help with the pain as opening my arm was extremely painful. I said sure. I was pleasantly surprised to receive an invoice from the hospital today charging me $30.00CAD for an item I was never even told I'd be paying for or the price of. It was offered to me as if it was free. They also charged me for the ultrasound. I am not sure if this is normal but I have never been charged for stuff like this before, only ever for ambulance services. The best part of the story is that naturally my arm ended up getting much worse the next day as the infection was spreading. Instead of going back to this hospital I went to a walk-in doctor the following day who prescribed me antibiotics for the infection. Within a few days everything was much better.

Went to the ER last night as I was having difficulty breathing for a few hours. The ER doctor says to me “our job is so assess any life threatening matters ... “. This hospital is a joke. Ofcourse I wouldn’t be coming to the hospital if I was feeling OK in the first place?! Definitely my first and last time there. DO NOT go to this hospital because they don’t take you seriously unless you’re on the floor dying.

Anna Ziarko

This is THE BEST HOSPITAL I have ever been in, nurses, doctors and all the staff from the moment we walked in to the moment we walked out from Georgetown hospital were kind, attentive so caring . They make us feel like part of family. Georgetown hispital THANK YOU so much for taking care of my mom. God bless you. Anna Ziarko

This used to be a "great" local hospital not anymore! I am a 65 year old man who could barely walk into the hospital. The ER was empty and the nurses saw me coming but didn't offer me a wheelchair; they took me right in but made me walk to the exam room, where they left me. The first person to see me was a Doctor after an hour and a half; but the ER was empty, claiming he just started his shift. He said I needed X-rays and left! 3 hours later a nurse came in and told me the doctor said I needed an X-ray ???????????????? That's 4 1/2 hours after i had been admitted .............. a Doctor and a nurse told me I needed an X-ray but hadn't arranged it ???? I waited in the exam room for another 2 hours, 6 1/2 hours in total, and walked up to the nursing station only to find the Doctor and the nurses socializing and drinking coffee ......... still an empty ER! Elderly abuse? They just don't seem to care about their older patients anymore even though we are the ones that have supported their requests for financial donations for new equipment, renovations etc. for the last 30 years. Neither I, nor my colleagues will ever donate to them again and will share this experience with many others. They have become a disappointment to the community.
