Do not just walk in the emergency if your symptoms do not let you wait. There is a ticketing and queue system with over an hour wait no matter you tell the Receptionist if you have high fever and flu (possibly Covid) like symptoms. In the waiting area you also put others to risk. Go somewhere else or call an ambulance so that they can take care of you before you get there. Hope this helps someone.

Might be new, but so are a lot of the staff (paediatric urgent care). After waiting hours for a res to to a basic exam and look over notes, I know driving to sick kids makes much more sense even if there's 2 hrs of traffic one way.

I would give a three as some nurses in the delivery ward are not very kind or helpful. i was admitted 3 times for early contractions and the nurses were angry and resentful to help or advise. and at the end they complained to my doctor and he said if you don’t like it you can switch your doctor and hospital.. the food at times was ok. over all i am glad i was able to deliver in this hospital. wished the government would make more great modern hospitals for the regions as the population is growing this may not be enough either to serve the public. i also like to add i took my daughter to er and a nurse came to take blood sample from my 3 week old baby she didn’t know what she was doing, she put my daughter in so much pain for 30 minutes me and my husband were crying and the whole time thinking she is doing her job but later a nurse from nicu came and did a wonderful job. we will never forget or forgive that nurse for putting my daughter in so much pain and discomfort because she didn’t know how to find a vein of a newborn.

We would like to say thank you to Cortellucci Vaughan staff. Excellent staff and team of knowledgeable doctors. We had scheduled c-section here last August 30, 2021. Wonderful nursing team. Postpartum nurses were very helpful and attentive. - Nurse Melissa from OR was so caring and attentive she’s one of a kind. -Nurse Achehana Nadarajah was so helpful and patient to all my questions. As a first time mom, I ask almost everything. She is knowledgeable and absolutely a gem to the team. -Nurse Lucy Lourdusamy is smart, kind hearted soul, and has a mother instinct, THANK YOU LUCY. To my OB GYN Dr. Ryan Ou thank you so much no words that I can think of to describe all your help to my family. And of course, to the whole team, I may not remember all your names, but I remember how wonderful you all are, THANK YOU!

Melanie Blair is a truly exceptional health care professional. My mother had shoulder surgery and was blessed to be cared for by Melanie during her post-operative recovery. In 25 years in Canada I've never experienced this level of empathy and commitment in any hospital setting. My whole family is in gratitude to Melanie, and I hope whoever is in charge of monitoring these reviews takes note of these words and keeps an eye out for Melanie in any supervisory opportunity, as I'm sure the whole department would benefit, as would all future patients.

My wife has been hospitalized with a serious fracture of her ankle since almost 8 o'clock last night. However, a hospital official did not give a clear schedule, and under the pretext of not knowing when the operation would be performed, only morphine has been injected since 8pm yesterday until now without water or food. Is there any health problem with fracture patients even if left unattended for a long time? Isn't this too irresponsible? Even though she is a mother of a 10-month-old baby. One more thing, from 8pm on the 19th to the current time at 10pm on the 20th, it's just a cold sandwich. Does this make common sense? If you can't decide on the surgery schedule, shouldn't you be given the first meal properly? I'm going to have surgery tomorrow morning by giving you something that doesn't look like food. Can I eat it? There is no answer here. I don't think my 11-month-old child's mother and my precious wife should be treated like that.

I don’t think I have ever left a review for a health care place before but the staff at this hospital absolutely deserve it. I went in last night in so much pain from an abscess and infection and was seen almost immediately, they listened and sent me for a CT scan. My doctor was absolutely awesome and answered all my questions thoroughly, really nice guy. (Dr.Aman?) And HUGE shoutout to Catherine Lu for being the most attentive nurse I’ve ever encountered, I had another nurse see me first as well, I can’t remember her name because I was in a lot of pain but she had eyelash extensions and she was awesome too. Genuinely so thankful, going to the ER is not fun but they made the process a lot less stressful.

Great hospital new and fancy nurses and doctors are amazing however, they have a gestapo like visitors policy, inmates in prison have more rights... We were referred to lady name Emily Andrews, you can expect more compassion from hungry alligator... to bad that what could have been a great experience turned bad by one bad apple - HR you most do better job in placing such people in such jobs.

Signage is really unclear. Not clear on where to park, and was given poor instructions. Where it says west entrance, you have to go downstairs to get to the parking lot, except stairs had caution tape.had to ask someone else and they said “oh you just had to take the elevator”... If you caution taped the stairs I would assume I shouldn’t go downstairs via elevator either. Self check kiosks don’t work so don’t bother. Wasted so much time trying to find my way around

If you come with a pain that requires immediate attention to an emergency then be prepared to wait for at least 1 hour to be registered then 1 hour to see the doctor then 3 hours to do an ultrasound and 1 hour to get the results. It feels like there is only 1 doctor and a few nurses who do god knows what

The hospital has all the bells and whistles but is missing the brains. My mom and grandmkother found my grandfather dead because he was not checked on or hooked up to a monitor. When I asked the nurse why was he not hooked up to a monitor, she told me that they didn't think he would die that day. When we were saying goodbye, my cousin heard a nurse say "this family better hurry up, we need the room." The staff should be ashamed of themselves. Absolutley disgusting! Do not take your loved ones to this hospital. It is worth the drive downtown.

We are very new to Canada and Dr. Sheila Thakkar took care of my wife for over 6 months throughout her pregnancy and we are now blessed with a healthy baby boy. She is very patient with all our questions and we are very glad that we found her. Admitted to Cortellucci for delivery and staff here are very friendly and resourceful especially Postpartum care here is top notch. A special Thank you to Lucy, she was very patient and gave us lot of details to take care of our baby. Wonderful journey and met lot of good people like Dr. Sheila Thakkar and Lucy

My wife just came back from doing a MRI at Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital. It has recently opened. It is very modern and beautiful. She said everything went smoothly and everyone was very helpful. Parking is not cheap. There is a tunnel from the parking lot to main areas.

I have no issues with the hospital or its staff. I have nothing but good things to say about the nurses, doctors, and support staff. The reason I'm giving it one star is because of your phone system. 5 minutes into a call the lines always starts braking up. Not sure if this is a VoIP system but please fix it.

I’d like to share that when I had first received an appointment there phone call to me was an automated call. They said I had to go to their Newmarket location and when I had got there, they told me to go back to Richmond hil. I had called the number back plenty of times to review and make sure it was there. In the Richmond hill location there receptionist was raising her voice at my grandmother who does not speak English. She had only lowered her voice when I had to ask her to stop. I do not recommend the service they provide here and wish this does not happen to anyone else .

Went here for our covid shots-incredibly organized. The whole process, including the 15 min post shot relax time, took no more than 20 mins. The incredibly friendly staff made the whole experience even more enjoyable.

For a new state of the art hospital it sure lacks in patient care. No mattress covers, no blankets, no towels, apparently they have no food, no tea, no coffee, etc. My elderly mother was transferred there from the Trench location. Last meal she had was he lunch at Trench. Her transfer took place just prior to having her diner. She was assured that she would be looked after. She is diabetic, got no food and she asked for food. Was advised that they have no more. By 9pm she was shaking uncontrollably, she got up to go to the washroom where the nurse scolded her for getting up. Insisted that she needs a walker. Nurse was told that she does not need a walker, she needs food. No food since noon, needs to eat she is diabetic. Listen to this after a while they brought her a sandwich. Nurse opened the sandwich where half of it hit the floor. All she got was 1/2 a sandwich. My mom cried to herself all nigh afraid to fall asleep. Did I mention she slept in her street clothes, winter jacket, shoes and all as the room was freezing cold. She asked for warn drink, coffee or tea, again no available. They brought her a tall cup of ice water..... Could not take a shower as the shower was pilled up with chairs and other items. They are using it for storage. 5+ days she washed herself in the washroom with paper towels to dry off. So much more to share, it is absolutely unbelievable. You would think especially during this time of crisis they would pay a little more attention to their patients .... I am surprised no one has yet to report this to the media .... BTW good luck having anyone help her phone home, apparently the staff have not been trained to use their new I-Pad phone system !

Reception could be a bit more friendlier as they want to get back on their phones . Other then that it was a good experience and especially for my wife who dislikes going to any hospital.

I was limping around and no one offered me a wheel chair. The staff laugh and fool around too much. You should be ashamed of how you’re running this hospital. Very unprofessional. Show some passion and urgency. We are all tired. I’m forced to work 2 jobs 25/8 (not 24/7) and was told to wait 6-7 hours for an ultrasound. A rich, beautiful hospital with limited equipment and staff? Nice, real nice.

The emergency room in this brand new state of the art hospital is so disorganized. ER clerks are rude. No Covid screening, no sanitizing. ER Doctors mocking patients behind their backs and rude nurses. No compassion for sick people! Go to William Osler where they take patients seriously and treat you with respect. REPLY TO YOUR RESPONSE: With all due respect, that it is not true! My daughter was admitted and already in a room. I walked right into the Emergency Department without anyone stopping me or questioning me. There were NO screeners at the entrance of the hospital or at the doors going into the Emergency Department inside. I even commented to the nurse and Doctor that there were too may people wandering around the ER, who were not Doctors or Nurses, to which the Nurse replied "Welcome to the ER".

Came to ER for chest pain and to my surprise, I was admitted after just 30 mins of waiting in line. The triage nurse (I believe her name was Sam) was very helpful and efficient, and quickly directed me to get registered in the system and to be seen by ambulatory doctors. Every healthcare professional I met during the visit was friendly. The doctor was super chill and patient in explaining everything that came back from the tests. It took about 3.5 hours in total from walking in to getting all the tests done (ECG, bloodwork, X-Ray) to being discharged from the hospital. Overall, the patient experience was wonderful and it was contrary to the hour-long, messy visits to ER I imagined. Everything in the facility is also very clean and high quality. No stains anywhere and very quiet. Very pleased with the environment.

We had a great experience delivering our baby in Cortellucci hospital. My wife and I stayed in a private room for 5 days. The quality of services was great comparing to other hospitals in Canada. The hospital is brand new, all devices are new. Many new gadgets are installed. Check-in is super easy with new machines, we only needed to scan our OHIP barcode under the machine and check-in completed. Many volunteers are standing in hospital first floor to help partients. There is a Starbucks on Level 1 and a 24/7 Tim Hortons on Level 0, which are super helpful. Operation room, recovery room and private room are all great and comfortable. Food service was not bad. You have the ability ro control many things by a tablet in front of you while laying on the bed in the room. You can manage currains, TV, temperature, you can order or select your next meal, watch movies and series, and many other things. Staff and nurses are super nice and friendly and professional. There are many beautiful new things in the hospital that there were for the first time we were seeing. The cool "Digital Wall" is a electronic wall that you can have your new born's name and picture on it if you donate more than $100 to Women and Child program.

The hospital looks fancy on the outside and on the inside, however the workers do not reflect the same fanciness. I came to the emergency waiting for 1 hour, no patient was taken into care. All the workers walk around and talk with each other, while the emergency fills up with patients. The workers who are supposed to check you and register are sitting through a window and just staring at you without even considering to provide any help. My overall wait time ti just being registered is around 2 hours, and then you need to wait to be seen by a nurse. When u finally get to the doctor then the service is a bit better then the register.

Hello everyone, The hospital is clean and the technology they have is advanced. Although it has good qualities there is a major problem. By problem I mean the stuffs attitude against people who aren't fully vaccinate. We had a nurse who gave us alot of attitude the second she found out we weren't fully vaccinate not only that she disappeared for almost 2 hours. When I went to see where she went I saw her talking to other nurses about us. All we wanted to know was if the baby was okay since My pregnant wife had a heart burn. All we got was "you might have covid". I guess when you're pregnant you don't ever get heart burns. Thank you so much

Very modern and much needed new hospital in Vaughan. The nurses are very friendly. The lines seem to be just a tiny bit faster than other hospitals (for now). But ita much better than MacKenzie Health. It's a huge hospital with many different departments. They're system of triage and registration is more modern and much faster than other hospitals. I hope they stay like that and improve their times to become the best hospital around.

Nurses and doctors were all very nice. It took time but I understand that's what it takes. Very good setup. The only reason I deduct 1 star is the delay in getting an ENT specialist on site for my issue but when he got there he was professional and proficient. Very happy to have this amazing ER so close to home, you dont want to need them but you're certainly glad they're there when you do.

I recently was a patient at the Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital and I wanted to share my overwhelming experience. From the moment I was brought in from EMS into Triage, my experience was nothing but superb. The triage nurse Kelly, was amazing, she checked my vitals and got me into x-ray right away. Her positive energy was the start of a great experience. We met with the x-ray technician who also shared the same positive energy. Everyone in the emergency that was part of my care team was absolutely wonderful and so attentive. The emergency staff nurses and Dr’s were wonderful. The emergency nurse technician that did my cast was a gem. His contagious sense of humour truly made my night. He had such a wonderful disposition his sense of humour and his energy truly made this experience a great one for me. Dr. Nicolas Chang, my orthopaedic Surgeon and his team, Dr. Eric Wong, my anesthetist and his team were professional, calming and reassuring in the OR, I felt like ‘one of the team’. The nurses were wonderful and caring. I truly felt at home and they made my experience as comfortable as possible. From the cleaning staff, the porters, I was completely amazed how happy everyone was working for Mackenzie Health, Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital. I wish to thank all the doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals and staff who each and collectively made my experience at Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital as easy and successful as it could be. My surgery and recovery have been more than I could hope for, and I attribute it to the excellent care I received from the people associated with the Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital. I deeply appreciate the fact that I and my community have access to such a high-quality care organization of professionals and facilities. My father was referred to a team of specialist doctors that operate out of Mackenzie health and it was the best experience we had in terms of quality of care and efficiency of process. The entire sign in process was seamless and directions on the slip of paper to find / locate our room in the hospital very easy which can be quite unnerving in a big place. The volunteers were awesome. We have had previous experience at Brampton Civic and Trillium and Credit Valley and they don't come close.

I have severe anxiety when it comes to being in hospitals. I had an eye issue and had to call an ambulance. I could not open my eyes. The paramedic was incredibly helpful, and led me inside. Then the nurse led me into my room. Eventually when the doctor came in, he gave me eye drops for the pain, and immediately it worked. I could open my eyes. The doctor was super calm and dealt with me in such a way that has never happened before. He sat down eye level and talked very slowly and calmly. Like he was stopping his busy schedule to make sure I calmed down. I had a second nurse helping me out too, and she was beyond helpful. By the end of my stay, I wasn't shaking, in tears or having troubles breathing from anxiety. I have never been so relaxed and calm in a hospital, and I feel like it's all due to these four people. Unfortunately... I don't remember any of their names. I wish I did.

The staff I had dealt with in regards to my injured right hand were amazing. Knowledgeable and kind, super patient and informative. The staff I did not deal with directly are the reason this place is getting two stars. The way three staff members spoke about an individual dealing with mental health, let alone a minor was disgusting. Bedside manners go a long way and so does not talking about your patients mental health and how “psycho” they are in a treatment area in hearing shot of other patients. If your place of employment has a mental health ward, please do not tell me that you being nice and understanding is similar to relating a psych patient to the character of chuckie. As someone who struggles with mental health, that’s not only insulting to hear but also horrifying to know how much judgement there can be in a place where you’re brought to get help. Do better.

I was transported to Cortellucci Vaughan hospital on 20th Dec 21 by Paramedics after I had a slip and fall on black ice at my workplace resulting in a broken humerus bone. Foremost I need to express my gratitude and appreciation to the two paramedics who took care of me and my injury with the utmost care, skill and professionalism . They were so compassionate and left only after I was assigned to the X-Ray division. Same level of professional knowledge combined with empathy and care was exhibited by the Doctor, Floor staff, X-Ray technician and finally the gentleman who did the cast on my hand. Inspite of a horrible accident and broken bones I still cherish the great positive approach shown by all at the Cortellucci hospital along with the Paramedics. So much for state of the art. The equipment might be fancy but the staff is a joke. All they want to do is get you the heck out of there and fast. If they don't know what's wrong they discharge you. Terrible treatment to patients. Rude. All of them (except a few sweet nurses). Management and doctors are RUDE, cruel and don't care. They are negligent. I am so appalled by this hospital it's unreal. I will definitely be taking my experience to the media. Its too bad the hospital seemed so promising.

Delivered my baby here last week. Wanted to write about my 33+ hour labour experience. My Gynea was Dr. Thakkar who happened to be on call when I walked in with my ruptured water bag. I could’ve avoided a very long labour had the first 2 Gyneas on shift caught my issue of an incomplete rupture. Something so simple was overlooked for 25 hours by multiples doctors on call. I had not dilated from 1cm onwards for a full 24 hours even after multiple rounds of pitocin. The entire time I was leaking amniotic fluids but the gyneas didn’t seem to catch on.It took the 3rd Dr. Roberta at the 25 hour mark to immediately figure out that my water hadn’t even broken properly. She soon popped my bag and my labour progressed. The negligence in my case resulted in my leaving the hospital with a very traumatic labour experience. I was blessed with some fantastic nurses such as Florence, Aileen, Ashley, just to name a few who helped me along the way and encouraged me. The postpartum nurses, however weren’t as supportive and were rude considering I was a first time mom desperately in need of support.

Want to say THANK YOU to the hospital and staff, that helped our family to welcome our baby into this world on June 26! We were so lucky to have an amazing nurses by our side - Megan and Clair! Megan was so so helpful during the labor, was breathing with me, was encouraging throughout the stages and making pushing more productive by using technique with the sheet around herself! She is the right person who has to be by your side during the labor. Clair helped us with the postpartum, caring like I was her sibling, friendly and positive! The hospital is so innovative, light and comfortable, that every woman could have dreamed of as a place to give birth! Your stay is in one spacious room during your whole visit, which has huge windows, comfortable sofa for dad’s and big washroom. The food was amazing! Italian style lunches and dinners were served like a hotel service. It was our first baby and we are so happy and glad to be there and have such a great experience! Thank you! P. S. I wish the delivery doctor wouldn’t be that rough and cold. Bedi Vishal was incompetent in many ways, especially when he wanted to use the vacuum to speed up the healthy delivery, as his shift was close to end!!! Luckily we’ve could avoid it. But even his rude actions and words haven’t ruined our positive memories. Best wishes to the hospital and a huge thank you for the nurses!

My wife & myself were here this past week for our first baby and it was a delight to work with her to get ourselves educated on the entire process and she was super helpful till the very end. She ended up stretching herself late in the night just to be beside her at the time of delivery. Her knowledge about the entire delivery process is profound & robust and the level of comfort we witnessed working with her was beyond our imagination. Hospital is lucky to have her and her efforts of going above & beyond should be recognized & appreciated. We were lucky to have her by our side.

We had a really great experience at Labour and Delivery with the birth of our son. The nursing staff was amazing. Dr. Wang was so attentive and really talked us through our options and she supported me in the OR during my spinal block. She and Dr. Gollant were really compassionate and supportive during the whole procedure. Our stay post-op was great and the postpartum nurses were really caring and attentive and made our stay really comfortable. The room was very comfortable as well.

I don’t even know how to write this review. I’ve had bad bad acid reflux constantly for about 4 days and my dr doesn’t do in person visits so at 2:30pm I headed to this hospital. It was busy but so are most er. It was so loud tho. Got my triage done then registration and I was sent down to ambulatory care. It felt like it took forever but I guess that’s normal. I was finally called in after about 2 1/2hrs and I told everything to the nurse. She took about 3 calls while triaging me and then she needed to do a blood draw. She missed the vein on my right arm and it bled pretty heavy and she decided not to try my left arm but my left hand as she did she blew my vein. It’s swollen n bruised. She laughed it off n called a different nurse in to do it. After I had to do a urine sample I went to the nurses station trying to ask where to put it n a nurse waved me off. I was sent back into waiting for the dr. Another 2hrs later I seen the dr who was amazing but she asked me if I do co****e because my chart said chest pain. I never once said chest pain. I was given a prescription and discharged at 8pm. I feel like the nurses don’t care. I’m honestly upset by the whole experience. Oh and for other comments I’ve seen they don’t have anyone that screens for COVID. They have a desk where you have to get a new mask and then you sign in with a kiosk that asks a few questions. To get to the hall where the er is you need to be scanned in. You can’t just go there.

What a waste of tax dollars. Used the emergency after 7 hour wait the doctor didn’t even see me they sent me home with this appointment with out explain why I was having all this pain and what was this appointment all about. There was only 2 patients there with 10 nurses just sitting there talking and talking. I had to wait hours to get a ct scan and had to argue with the nurse to get my results. They told me to go home because the didn’t know what the pain was. Just a piece of good advise this hospital need new doctors and nurses that know what there doing. This was my first and it will be my last that I will use this hospital for any services.

I was especially impressed about the food since people always complain about hospital food being terrible. The taste of the food served at this hospital and service were excellent. There is an ipad by bedside for you to order meals and if you miss it, someone comes by to take order. This helps with recovery! Thank you!

Went to the hospital for the first time with my son who hurt his finger at school. For 10 minutes 2 ladies at triage 2 and 3 disappeared on their phones. Extremely slow service, lack of staff and didn't find the 2 triage ladies helpful. Overall service was slow. Very disappointed in the services at the triage. For a while i thought i was at a hospital in the Caribbean. Will go to mackenzie glen next time..

It must be a full moon out. My mother was rushed to the hospital because she had fallen down the stairs. The two paramedics from York Region (Woodbridge) were extremely unprofessional and rude. We arrive to the hospital and my mother refuses to take Tylenol for the pain because she cannot digest the medication. After 3 hours she advises me to contact the nurse because she would like the Tylenol after all, due to her pain. I advised the personnel at the desk and her response was ‘she refused it the first time.’ She could have refused it 10 times. She’s the patient. If she’s changed her mind she’s allowed! If you hate your job so much find another one. You miserable ????

My review is only reflective of Ambulatory Care, as other divisions of the hospital functioned much more professionally, client-centered, and sensitive to client needs. I visited Cortellucci Vaughan over the weekend and was absolutely appalled by the lack of bedside manner and client-centered care I received. I told my nurse that I was ALLERGIC to Gravol and she was flustered in having to find another medication for me. Desk staff were directing people to other departments without taking the time to ACTUALLY SHOW THEM WHERE TO GO. No one offered people wheelchairs, or ways to get around the hospital if they were struggling. No one was cleaning. The physician assisting me came into my room and said "Ya, so what's wrong?" After 4 1/2 hours in Ambulatory Care I was told they did a "full work up" (no they didn't), that they didn't know what was wrong with me, but if I wanted a COVID test, I could have one. LOL - I had no COVID symptoms, no close contacts, no travel history. I'm an RSW at a hospital downtown and I could NEVER imagine treating my clients this way. When people visit hospitals, often time they are at their worst or FEELING their worst, they are vulnerable, and unwell. THIS IS NOT HOW YOU TREAT PEOPLE SEEKING FOR AND TRUSTING IN MEDICAL CARE.

Clueless and ignorant people calling themselves doctors at this hospital. My family doctor directly spoke with the radiologist to get directions on how to fill out an urgent MRI requisition for spinal cysts and subluxed joint/ fracture. I had severe pain and kept losing consciousness. The radiologist told him exactly what to fill out. I had great difficulty booking my imaging with them. They sent the requisition back to my doctor asking what kind of surgery I had had even though it was already discussed on the phone. My family doctor sent the requisition back indicating my surgical history. The radiologist (Donald LY) disregarded the urgency of the request and booked me months later. Because of prior surgery on my spine I should have had contrast MRI, but the radiologist Donald LY refused to order a contrast MRI. My neurosurgeon said the radiologist should have done contrast. After calling them roughly 50 times they finally brought me in to have the imaging done without contrast. After the MRI I found out they didn’t do two sections of my spine on purpose based on the radiologist’s decision. I had injuries in those sections but was told the radiologist Donald LY does not want to do the imaging. I asked to see what referral they had received from my doctor to see if my family doctor had not requested those areas by mistake and they called security on me! Security showed up but immediately got surprised as to why they won’t give me my own personal health information. It’s been a very stressful month dealing with this hospital and I could not show my surgeon the MRI in time due to this radiologist’s carelessness and discrimination against me. Shameful to treat the patient like a violent criminal and call security on them for mistakes the hospital’s own radiologist Donald LY has made. I would AVOID this place. Edit: I went abroad to have a proper urgent MRI performed with contrast which showed broken bones, lesions and multilevel severe nerve impingement. The foreign doctors were shocked to see radiologists at mackenzie health in Canada have absolutely no idea what they’re doing and do not even know the purpose of using gadolinium. The quality of my imaging at Mackenzie health was terrible, which made it difficult to see the severe impingement of nerves, plus they also didn’t even notice my bone was broken!!! The minimum qualification of a radiologist should include the ability to recognize broken bones!!!! If it were not for the foreign doctors properly reading my MRI and diagnosing me, I would have been completely and permanently paralyzed soon. Thank goodness for knowledgeable doctors who have empathy and humanity. They’re treating me like a Queen abroad and mackenzie staff treated me worse than dirt. Awful hospital, doctors are illiterate, avoid at all costs or you will be paralyzed!!!

My wife went there for the 2nd vaccine dose and was informed it was cancelled. Rescheduled the 2nd dose like the other people in the line. This situation made people feel frustrated and angry. Not sure who neglected and caused this. Was it that hard to inform the cancellation beforehand, at least a couple of hours?

I had my first vaccine shot yesterday and I cannot praise the system and the people highly enough. From the organized, two-stage parking for those who arrive earlier than 10 minutes prior to appointment, to the check-in system through the vaccine and waiting period I could not ask for a better experience. From the time I stood in line behind 3 people to the time I went to the waiting room was 5 minutes. I've had the WORST service in any health care facility in Ontario to date here. Registration was quick but after I got admitted the nurses and doctors are very INEXPERIENCED, RUDE, and INCOMPETENT. I was complaining about my open wound flare up, begging for IV drip to help with the pain, but they kept trying to dismiss me. Dr Gurpaul didn't know what treatment to give, but the nurse had to give her medical opinion to manage the severe pain. They are very NEGLIGENT and want to send you home if they don't know what's wrong. I was in severe pain and asked for a cup of water and one of the nurses just sat back down and simply ignored my request. The only person there that helped with my requests and checked up on my condition was Nurse Boris (thank you!) Next time I'm taking the longer drive to go to a better healthcare facility.

This hospital is underwhelming.... with all the hype that was going on, especially with the CEO on the news and etc.. I was expecting more. The Humber River Hospital looks much better aesthetically (CVH looks like it was trying to replicate Humber’s layout and style but did not turn out as beautiful)... maybe they had limitations.. perhaps they didn’t have enough space/land/funding? Anyways, I am grateful that there is finally a hospital in Vaughan. Hopefully the care there will be better than the Richmond hill site once it is fully open!

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!! I arrived to ER with a lot of chest pain and not able to breath And other concerns i got there last night at 9:45pm and they took me in fats because it wasn’t busy but once I was inside the Green ambulatory area since the time arrived till 2am they didn’t provided me no medication or even checked on me for my vitals sign and my fever was on and off and I complained I was getting more pain and they ignored me. After I asked a nurse because it was already 2am crying that I was in pain still and I asked for medication and than she went to ask the dr if I could get anything. They only gave me a pill for pain and for the doctor to say “I THINK” it’s a muscle pain you can go home. I waited there for nothing basically I could of stayed home and treated myself .. everyone from nurses to Drs are just unprofessional! they took my vitals signs because I ASK and they discharged me still with my Heart rate high .! And with pain ... I’m still in pain till now .! And also when they were going to take my blood work the nurse who did it first was a student and she didn’t wrong and it wa a painful and they had to do it the other arm I was very disappointed I felt like a ghost that I didn’t existed in that waiting room .

Went to the Tim Hortons downstairs. I ask the man for a bagel with cream cheese. He tells me he does not have a cook. I don't know what he means I can see 10 bagels on the display they are already made what more cooking do you need? Just cut it open and put cream cheese how difficult is it? He says he cannot do that. Very strange. The rest of the hospital is beautiful and the staff have been great.

Some of the nurses at this hospital are amazing! One nurse in particular named Alex in the emergency floor managed to make me laugh through a lot of pain. He stayed with me till I was all set up even though it was time for his break. The paediatricians are ALLL wonderful !!!Dr gryss and Dr shethwala took care of my baby after delivery because of his jaundice. also, So happy I snatched Dr Ostro up as my child’s paediatrician. They do NOT rush you, they address all your concerns. Never met better doctors!! Lastly, the lovely lactation consultant Amanda is beyond professional, kind, and patient. The team here has helped me through a few medical emergencies, my labour and delivery, and even helping with a lot of complications that occurred after birth. My knowledgeable and AMAZING OBGYN Dr Grossman works here as well and has helped me every step of the way during this pregnancy. I don’t think I could have found a better doctor. Thank you so much for everything really!!

Had a great experience delivering at this hospital, particularly due to nurse Melissa from the labour and delivery unit. Melissa is one of a kind - extremely knowledgeable, caring and helpful. She went above and beyond to make sure that I had the birth experience I wanted by providing constant support and advice, even when my midwives didn't. Extremely grateful I was in her care during my stay and can only hope to deliver with her in the future! Dr. Vishal was present during the delivery and had a very calming and professional demeanor which was greatly appreciated. All other nurses in both labour & delivery and the recovery units were quick to respond to any calls and questions. Would definitely deliver here again with the same team!

My daughter had a baby at the Mackenzie health then transported to cortutelli along with same nurses. Nurses treated her with disrespect and humiliation, make her feel small. The baby had diaper rash, dried puke in her hair….this is neglect!!!!! They allowed strangers to hold the baby without parent consent. The list can go on and in!!! So very cruel and very unprofessional. This was addressed to the nurses and then were acting like friend to my daughter however, this was so fake of them. To this day this has bothered my daughter. I rated 1 however I feel this is too high.

My wife delivered our first baby at this hospital in mid October. First off the hospital is very clean and the rooms are really nice, but this isn’t what made the hospital the best experience you can ask for. It is the people, the nurses, the doctors, and the other staff (volunteers, cleaners, admin, meal services staff, support staff) were all amazing every single person we came across treated us with the upmost care with true compassion. The delivery team nurses and doctors kept everything positive and uplifted our moods by making us laugh which almost helped us forget about the fear and anxiety around delivering a baby. The nurses attended to us every moment of the way and made sure all of my wife’s needs were met. They were very informative and communicated well, answering any questions we had. Rebecca Mariappen was our L&D nurse and we are greatly thankful for her care of both baby and mom. She was there the entire time and kept checking up on us to ensure everything was good. Onia Jackson was our first nurse in post patrum/recovery, she is an outstanding nurse, she taught me how to change his diapers properly and was really paitent with us. Lucy Lourdusamy was the next nurse to take care of us, she is such a caring nurse she came in a few times to help our newborn get back to sleep she took time to show us how to swaddle the baby again and again until I got it right. Elaiza Trinidad was our last nurse, she was awesome and again another caring nurse, she answered all of our questions, helped us ensure we were ready to go home and gave us lots of information on what to expect, what to do and how to do it. Every single nurse, doctor and support staff went above and beyond ensuring we were given the best service possible. We will forever be grateful for this experience as it was the wonderful staff at Vaughan Cotellucci that made us feel a true 5 star experience. Also a shoutout to Sandra Carter, first she helped us outside the hospital and directed us where to go, later on when a family member delivered food, Sandra hand delivered the food to the L&D area just out of the act of kindness. You really need to advocate for yourself in this hospital or they'll make you wait 2 hours when you visibly have a broken limb. That person who needs stitches? In and out. Of course, that makes sense since it's an easy procedure. After 2 hours, even when they put you on a bed, they'll make you wait another 2 hours before you're actually seen. Once you're seen, and you think progress is being made, they love to play the waiting game as you wince in pain. What do they say? "I DON'T KNOW...". The person in ortho will then tell you, 12 hours later after you arrive at the hospital, that there may be nerve damage because of the amount of time that has passed - as though it was your fault. How do I know about these 2 hour increments? It was read off the screen. Don't be fooled by the shiny floors and instruments. Staff is incompetent. Oh, and don't bother giving me a generic response about how sorry you are with a phone number to contact. One particular nurse's rudeness is all the response I need. Oh, and I have to agree with another post about not being screened. I saw someone waltz right in and the receptionists looked confused.

Had to visit the ER before the holidays and had a generally positive experience, once checked in that is. Upon arrival at around 4am, in extreme pain and almost doubled over, I walked up to the reception desk. I barely got a word out before she pointed at the kiosk and told me I had to answer the questions and get a number. Really? No interest in what was wrong. Had I chopped off my hand? Was I having chest pains? Was I losing blood or consciousness. Nothing. Just scurried me off to the kiosk so she could continue her conversation with her co-worker. She should have at least asked some basic questions and taken a minimal interest in her job. Outside of that, service was great. I realize things in the ER can take time. I was put in a room and told that the doctor wouldn't be in until 8am or so and they made me as comfortable as possible. Hopefully they can fix they intake procedure and become the world class facility the should be.

Worse service and very unorganized, we stayed in hospital from 9 pm to 7 am in morning (10 hours) because of bad management and radiologist dr didnt show up and even management didnt care and patients seating out for 10 for morning shift radiologist, even in third world I never seen dr on shift be absent and hospital only have on shift dr I dint care about big building and good look building, as patient I care about my health They just waisted money on making luxury building, it was better they spend this money to hire more Dr ????

If you care your loved one please don't go in this hospital, specially for delivery. I had very bad experience here. They are out of staff. They don't care about your life and time. They keep on calling just for money to scan your health card, I was 41 week pregnant They call me to the hospital to induce pain but after 4 hours wait they say we are out of stall we go home. Next day we wait 13 hours on the labor room, doctor check me after 8 hours wait, and suggested for c section we say oky we wanna book c section They say we are out of staff so come on Wednesday .thank God dr bedi forcefully send my message to director of management and then the did my c section on Monday after 18 hours fasting. But again after delivery only 3 nurses (onia, Chris, Florence)who did their job and treat like you as a human otherwise everyone treated you like you are worthless. They don't gave medication on time .you have to keep them calling again and again. No doubt hospital is smart but out of brain and senses nobody come to enjoy smart TV or sofa every body come for services not to enjoy but yes for good treatment. I wish they change management and hire some good staff specially nurses. Please guys don't go for delivery if you love your family.

I went to emergency at 5am around 10 days ago for carpal tunnel. It was fast and in 1 hour I was coming out of the hospital. The only thing is that outside in the walkside is an infestation of gypsy moth caterpillars.

I went in for a Covid-19 assessment and everyone there was really nice, from receptionists, nurses, security guards, to the doctor. The only thing was that I was told to wait outside over the phone when I booked the appointment so I waited outside but no one called me in so I had to go in. There was barely any wait and they made what could have been a stressful experience a pleasant one.

Beautiful hospital, amazing staff. However, I don't think this is a place for Dr.Sikand he thinks he knows it all. I was very happy till I met him. I knew what the problem I was having and he tried to dismiss it. Making it sound like it's all in my head. Thank God I had reports to prove him wrong in the hospital system. My rating is low because of him. Otherwise nurses and the staff is fantastic.

Walking in this hospital for the first time. So I went to the emergency at the front receptionist. You really don't need to put a piece a paper to cover the hole. It's really hard to understand what they were saying. And for the kiosk, you really don't need it at all.That's why you guys have a receptionist for them to look it up on the computer.

I had very bad experience to go to emergency department at vaughan hospital, the hospital is new and clean , staff and nurses are very nice and care, but doctors are very rude and did not care for patient, first time I went there and they did blood work and CT scan, then sent me home , next day I bleed badly and I went back for second time and seeking for help , they took my blood again and make doctor came to see me , he asked me why I come back , I said I bleed so badly please help me to stop bleeding, doctor said “no you don’t , you just scared”, then I waited there for couple hours and same doctor came in and told me that my blood count have dropped but not to the point to need blood transfusion, I told him I don’t need blood transfusion , I need some work to help me to stop bleeding, he did not say anything and sent me home , with specialist’ s phone number to call as soon as possible, next day my problem was getting worse , my husband took me back there again , female doctor came to see me then she checked and said I can go home ,I said please help me if I bleed like this every day I will pass out , she said no I don’t , if I want to know she can take my blood and check again, I refused to let them withdraw my blood again , so I left and went to Er Humber river hospital, the doctor checked me and did some blood test then she called specialist in hospital come down to see me and they booked me for the next day to get treatment

Went to emerg twice-both times was in and out within an hour or two. Nurses were great and friendly. Doctors on the other hand had no bedside manor and barely touch you or come near you like you have the plague. Emerg wasn’t busy both times so they had no reason to be rushing and barely let you finish answering their questions. Both times male doctors - won’t mention their names. Also…automatic “wave” doors need to be tweaked.

This hospital is not ready to be open. Registration was fast and that’s it. Waiting for a doctor in emerg is sad. The reason I was told by a nurse was cause there is only 1!!!! Doctor taking care of all emerg this nurse also seemed like it was her first time drawing blood stabbing my wife 5-6 times in the same vein until she decided to go for another vein and stabbed that one 3 times. My wife was in pain for 3 hrs before we get doctor Tung. I’m sorry maybe she’s great with others with us at the beginning of her shift came off very arrogant acted like I wasn’t even there beside my wife trying to explain some issues that my wife couldn’t due to the fact she’s Spanish so her English is not to good. My wife has been to Richmond hill hospital numerous times and seeing a lot of doctors very stressed out doctors but none that were like doctor Tung. They all took the time to listen. Also was told by her to get prescription from our family doctor for the pain???????? Are you not a doctor. Went home feeling the same as she went in. Thank you for your help. And criticized what her family doctor prescribed her. Trust me if her family doctor was avail we would be with him before coming to the hospital.

My father went in for a day surgery this past Friday and had to stay 2 nights. It was the worst experience ever for him. The nurses were very unapologetic and rude. No consideration of the patient’s pain or comfort. One nurse has left him with bruises all over his forearm due to not being able to find a vein. He was desperate to come home and said there was no way he would be able to heal there.

After being admitted in hospital for three days and going through all kinds of tests, this hospital does not give you any discharge paper or any written diagnostic findings. When you ask about the discharge paper, they give you the list of the medications that you were taking and you already knew before coming to this hospital !!When I asked for the result of my MRI, the nurse misrepresented by telling.... go online to mychart , all the result of tests are there!! I logged in after 24 hours to mychart.mackenziehealth.ca, all the information is outdated, there was no result of CTscan, blood test,etc whatsoever. Patients are looking for quality care and not fancy building.

I brought my dad to emergency. I saw several people sitting around talking to each other while therr were still three people in the waiting room including myself. I was finally brought into room m031 and the nurse was extremely helpful. She was friendly. She was caring. And she took the extra time to deal with my elderly 91-year-old father. This is what nursing should be about. Caregivers. I believe that we should be paying them more money to attract more nurses to the industry. There is so much government money wasted on so many questionable social services, that our government should revisit where money is going to and redirect to where it is necessary. We need to ensure that we have a healthy population. Now for the problem. My dad was admitted and unfortunately passed away. Whenever we tried to get updates from the nursing station, we were always rushed. Every time we would ask a question, the answer would come back as if it was scripted and it would end off with' 'OK? '. And was as if they wanted to quickly end the call. None of the nurses really wanted to spend time telling us what was going on. I had to call several times because I was told that they were on rounds. Prior to him passing away, we randomly made a call to see how he was doing and it was at that time that they told us that we (the children) should be coming in. I would have expected that they would have taken the initiative to call us when they saw that his health was rapidly decreasing.

Our first experience with the new smart hospital was clean, friendly and very efficient. My mom was scheduled a CT appointment at 7:30 am. When we arrived, we were guided to the registration machine. The registration was very straightforward and easy to navigate. Once the registration was completed, a blue wristband was given and we were directed to the CT area and it says our scheduled time is 7:50 am. While we were waiting in the waiting room, we were called even before that! The CT machine even has mandarin in the system and I did not have to translate the instructions for my mom (she does not speak English). Everyone we met was so friendly and I was surprised how the process was and the patient did not have to wait for excessive time.

I thought this was more of a 5 star hotel than hospital the modern large rooms had massive washrooms with modern showers too, ultimate in luxury privacy (look at the photos that another patient posted below to see). My room even had a view of the huge Wonderland Park across the street which is a sight to behold but everywhere seems to have a great view it was built on a lot of land in the open. On leaving I overheard one lady telling the Covid screeners before entering how breathtaking the premises were. So modern, so clean, so spacious. I remain in amazement. Everything else in comparison, though great hospitals, is draconian and 3rd world even though the doctors all gifted no matter what hospital you go to in Ontario. Our docs are tops.

I went to this hospital for an MRI. For the injection before this test, someone tried to inject me three times and I was in so much pain that I was fainting. Finally she went and another nurse came and did it. I was sick all day. It's been two days now, but my hand hurts a lot. I do not recommend this hospital to anyone.

We have very bad experience with this hospital. My sister admitted for delivery. She cry 10 hours with pregnancy pains and my mom call again and again that somebody come and see my daughter but nobody comes in and check my sister. The doctor was very careless and it result of my nephew death. Upon my question to doctor when my mother was calling for help why nobody responds doctor replied we don't have enough nurses and doctors and I'm alone dealing with many patients. Our family is in big trauma right now. I recommend to not go this hospital for deliveries and do not go to doctor Sheila Thakkar.

I had a back pain and couldn’t walk, stand or seat, after having to walk alone without a nurse or wheelchair offered to me, I ask the doctor to take an X-ray since the only reason I went to a emergency was to get an X-ray and my results the same day, the doctor told me it’s a waist of time to take X-ray and I don’t really need one, I called my doctor the next day and went to do an X-ray and my results came that I got arthritis in my back, so it was a waist of 5 hour of my time and not getting nowhere, I don’t recommend this hospital to nobody, specially my loved ones I we’ll make sure they stay away from this place

Came to cortellucci hospital emergency because couldn't breath normal, had temperature and something been pinching me at the back where liver is every time I've been taking a short breath of air. After 5-7 hours of waiting and many results on hands (lungs xray, liver and kidney ultrasound, blood test, urine test) doctor couldn't figure out what is wrong, so he came up with "virus infection" suggested me to go home take Tylenol and have a nap till I feel better. After argument with him and hospital nurses I wasn't so welcome there. With temperature and shortness of breath I went to another hospital which is about 1h drive and thank god I came to a professional doctor who came up with the problem in just minutes and confirmed it next morning with CT Scan. Pulmonary embolism, that's something you don't want to mess with, 30% of people with pulmonary embolism die if problem not treated in time.

I have been fortunate enough to have been admitted to a hospital only a handful of times in my life. I have however spent countless hours in many hospitals with loved ones who've needed to be admitted. I've seen enough to know the difference between what is good care, and what is great care. Vaughan Cortellucci surpasses them all. This hospital sets the benchmark and in my opinion is the gold standard in healthcare. Living nearby, I was recently admitted to the hospital under emergency circumstances. From the moment I entered the hospital, I sensed that the experience would be different from what I'd become accustomed to. I anticipated that the technology would be leading edge, and that the building would be beautiful, and it did not disappoint. What I did not anticipate was the level of care and compassion that every single person provided from the second I came through the doors. It didn't matter who it was - the admissions team, the volunteers, the nurses, the doctors, the porters the cleaning staff - every single one of them were incredibly kind. My well being and my needs were at the center of everything they did. What was even more impressive was that the level of care and compassion wasn't provided just to me.. It was provided to my wife too, who was with me the entire time I was hospitalized. Somehow, VC seems to be acutely aware that being hospitalized can be as traumatizing for family members as it is for patients. We literally felt as though we were being looked after by family. To the staff and management of this hospital, you truly are special people who make a difference. You've made a mark on our lives that won't soon be forgotten.

This medical center does not care about its patients, they are just out to make money. My dad went to see the ophthalmologist and waited for THREE HOURS WITHOUT A PLACE TO SIT. Usually people who have eye problems are older, and my dad had to stand for three hours, it was ridiculous and uncompassionate. We asked if we could go to the Tim Hortons nearby and sit down for a little bit and come back closer to our turn and they said, no you have to stay here and wait. If we have to be there for three hours then at least offer your older patients a place to sit. We are very disappointed and will not be recommending this clinic to friends and family.

Recently I was admitted for 9 days in this hospital, and had a very bad experience. I went into the emergency on Sunday afternoon. The check in was very fast, as there was not many people and I had over 200 blood pressure, accompanied with under 80% blood oxygen. During my time were18 shifts with 17 different nurses. So every new shift the nurse had to learn the patient information, which I’m sure resulted in lost time. During the 9 days the doctors never asked me what I was experiencing, never explained anything, until the fifth day when I refused to take medication before somebody would tell me what’s happening. I was discharged at the 6th of Oct. , without any doctor coming to see me. There was not any after treatment discussed, not any scheduled appointment other than a CT Scan in 18 of November. I got a prescription for only 30 days of medication, In my file it is written that I have no family doctor. At home I checked my hospital file and while hypertension was mentioned, there were no plans to deal with it. Additionally, while there I had a wound on my leg, with instructions in my file to change the dressings every day. A nurse refused to change the dressing, which is highly unhygienic, so I had to wait for the next shift. Overall, a lot of healthcare money was wasted due to a badly organized hospital, and I had a very unpleasant experience, with very little care and not even a follow up to show the hospital in the business of healthcare.
