I have to go into emerg often and and I was treated quickly and treated well by the staff. only once or twice was it ever a long wait. I understand that the doctors need to rest as their shifts are long and so there are times the wait will be longer but Alexandra has always taken care of me quickly.

4.5 hrs and still waiting...

7.5 hours waiting to get an IV antibiotic using an IV port already in place. Poor triage attitudes. Why does it take 7.5 hours to see 3 people, when no ambulances came through the entire time. Having a foot wound wrapped without treatment, with bandaging that fell off while putting a shoe on. Another experience, daughter had severe pneumonia. Struggled breathing. Sats 78% O2 but doctor tried sending us home “can’t treat a common cold”. We were stopped by another medical person on our way out who instructed the doctor to reassess. Had to go to London hospital and start the wait over again because Ingersoll wouldn’t even X-ray her chest.

I had to go into the emergency to see if I had broken a rib. The x-ray technician was incredible. I was in horrible pain. She was gentle, caring, was incredibly kind in moving me around to get me in position for the x-rays. Thanks for being so awesome. Wait times can be a bit hit or miss. That's the nature of Emergency Departments. I had workplace injury that I had to get checked out (not life threatening). I went in one day and left after 6-7 hours of waiting (likely due to much more urgent cases). I went in a second time, and was in with an amazing young doctor (?Taylor?) with 15 minutes of arriving.

Always helpful staff and knowledgeable professionals. So glad to have the emergency department here in Ingersoll. Unfortunately, I have needed their services a number of times. :-(

Excellent service from all the staff. Prompt, courteous, effective and professional. Dr. Blake and members of her team were very thorough and attentive. I am not from Ingersoll but would always choose Alexandra hospital to the one in my home town. Many thanks to the team!

There must be two sets of rules in this hospital. One for triage and another for people that just check in at the front desk. I waited 3 hours and did not even get looked at. 2 other people came I within that 3 hours and walked right in. Unreal won't be back.

I understand hospitals have wait times.. but when you call about something and they tell you in and out in 15 minutes for a prescription to be filled PROPERLY for my condition I get frustrated. Waited 4 and a half hours to be told bandaids are the cure for a bad infection. An issue that should have been dealt with the first visit has now taken a month and I'm still trying to get it resolved since it's worsened. The staff are nearly all ignorant, rude and stuck up. Definitely a lack of courtesy and respect here. I wouldn't go here again if I was bleeding out. If you aren't going to properly do your proffesion why did you go to school for it? Lives are more important than telling your coworkers how much you're longing for the weekend...

We arrived at 445pm with a piece of metal in a eye...triage was good. Drops given and stated shouldnt be long....800 and still no action. He just needed the metal taken out, the damage it is causing waiting....this is unacceptable.

I went to this hospital after checking out London’s 6 and a half our wait, and decided that this was a good place to go. Turns out that it was the best experience I have ever had in an hospital and emergency room. The staff was amazing and got me in so quickly, they really take good care of their patients and are so lovely. Thanks for everything you guys did and made my time there quick and easy!!

This hospital is amazing!!! I came to the emergency room over night and the staff has been so kind and so compassionate!!! I have to give a shout out to Sabrina my nurse she went above and beyond for me. Not only did she explain everything so clearly but she made sure i was comfotable and she even brought me somthing to eat before her shift change at 7 am. Thank you so much to all the staff that took such good care of me when i needed it most. I will boast about this hospital to everyone i know! Again, thank you so much ❤

My mom went in to see Dr Frye and she's evil. She needed antibiotics and she didn't do anything for her. My mom ended up dying 2 months later. She should be fired immediately!!!

I got x rays in emerg., had to wait 6.5 hours before giving up and going home (along with about 5 others that did the same), only to call and ask for my results (which they don't give out over the phone) and the lady tells me that she just tried to call me in to see a doctor 7 hours after my x ray. It doesn't take 7 hours to read an x ray and tell me if I'm broken or not. I'm just getting the results sent to my family doctor, not dealing with this BS anymore. Everyone else in the waiting room was just as upset. Also, if you are a highschool student wanting to volunteer here, it is an extremely easy way to get free community hours because all they make you do is sit in the cafeteria for 4 hours a week. And actually, if you leave early (like a half hour) they won't even notice :) this hospital is a big joke

Possibly one of the worst hospitals in Ontario. Waiting room is full and within three hours of waiting not a single person was called up. Wandering the halls I noticed a room full of doctors discussing coffee and doughnuts. It is no wonder nothing gets done.

Went in because i cut my hand on a hinge for a stove door. My wife told me it needed stiches and i kept working. When we did go in the triage nurse was very good and changed the paper towel we had taped on. After about 3 hours we saw the doctor and he gave me 3 stiches to close the artery and 4 more for the cut. Great place to go and great work. Props to the staff and my wife for taking care of it. I was in this hospital yesterday night and they did nothing for me at all the nurses are incompetent and the Dr's are incompetent here I wouldn't recommend this hospital if your in a life and death situation I highly recommend University hospital the nurses are very good and the Dr's are way better

Having just recently moved to Ingersoll I was in need of some medical attention. I was feeling very sick. As it turned out I had Bronchitis. All of the staff from registration, triage the nurses, technicians and doctor were very pleasant to deal with. They treated me quickly and I was very comfortable.

trying to find the no stars button ... worst hospital ever ... i went through so much pain and suffering by the time i finally got a call back for a throat swab test it took 5 days .. i went in on monday then they told me they sent test tuesday to london ... why tf would they not just tell me to go there because i would of i was in so much pain and they dont subscribe nothing ... i litterally almost died soar throat could not speak then fever then got rashes and tingle in my throat then hammroid due to lack of food and sleep .. i wish i could actually depend on doctors but they were too busy only focusing on covid and nothing else .... trash .. plus i waited in an empty hospital for a hour ... literraly

I cannot say enough about how great this facility and its staff in the Emergency room are!! Sadly the ultrasound tech and team are not very good or at all compassionate. The emergency area was clean. The staff was prompt and courteous as well as polite and understanding! Amazing !! They took my hiking partner (who is terrified of hospitals and doctors) in last night, comforted him, tested him, and reassured him over the course of a couple of hours! Amazing staff! Thank you so much!!! My partner was told to get an ultrasound immediately. One was scheduled for 2 days later on March 18th - however the tech was too sick to come in after St. Patrick's Day (too late of a night by the callers own admission), he was re-scheduled a week later and that too was cancelled (after a busy weekend by the callers own admission). I called to get a new appointment and the receptionist booked one over 1 month away. Given that my partner is in severe pain waiting an addition 4 weeks is impossible. Apparently a patient with severe abdominal pain does not not rank observation. Back to the emergency room he goes.

Took my daughter in 2 weeks ago for what I assumed was a UTI. They took a sample, but I was told there were about 15 people ahead of us. It was already 7:30, we had waited an hour and a half and since she wasn't feeling well I wanted her to be in bed for bedtime at 8. Informed them I couldn't stay any longer and went home. Took more than a week to send results to our regular doctor and even then they neglected to do the proper test. So now my poor baby is completely shut down with fever of 103, and vomiting. All because they didn't bother to do a proper urine analysis to tell me if she had an infection.

I am so glad I went to this hospital before seeing all of the terrible reviews, I want to say to the 2 paramedics who picked me up after my car accident on the ramp westbound on the roundabout on February 3rd at 10:15am. thank you for making me feel better after the traumatic experience and thank you to the female officer for comforting me as well.

Been coming here for years. Very kind staff and very fast at getting you in unless there's lots of ambulances coming in. I've actually seen a doctor and left in less than 45 minutes. Better than London unless you have something specialized.

They sent my 87 year old grandmother violently ill @ 3am in the morning Friday. Told nothing wrong gas or stomach upset... she was in the hospital Monday and told bladder infection sent home and vomiting... Friday evening her pain was so bad in a fetal position in my vehicle we decided to try Woodstock Hospital! Wow! Amazing care and we found out she has a bowel obstruction and she is currently under surgery!!

What a horrible, nasty place! The nurses are lazy and mean. A few are good but they disappear in the sea of disgruntled, entitled, petty co-workers. Unprofessional attitude. Some patients must be hardy farm stock because I would expect everyone to die staying here. Insensitive, jaded staff, it feels like junior high school cliques rather than a hospital. Emergency can be a long wait. The hospital is full of gossip. They like to make fun of you and dirty look and smirk when you ask for help. Mean, mean,mean!!!!!!! You are better off going to a bigger hospital in London so you don't get labelled and stigmatized as much. The doctors are terrible to okay. Good luck getting an average one! The only way to get a little bit of undeadly treatment is to not make waves and do as much as you can for yourself. They don't want to help you. They only want to get rid of you ASAP. You must be able to eat, drink, and go to the bathroom yourself to ensure your safety. Why is it still open? Ingersoll's Human Killing Machine.

You should be bleeding or broken before you result to using Ingersoll as emergency for medical treatment.. This place is ridiculously SLOW!!!!! Even when there are only 2 occupied beds in emerg.... They claim they are so busy and you WILL WAIT 3 plus hours!!

Ignore most of the negative reviews. People don’t understand triage clearly when they go to the hospital for non-emergent issues. If you have a problem that’s not gonna end up in a surgical situation, I always go here first. Assuming you are there for an actual emergent reason; I always get into a room and seen by a doctor within the hour. The doctors always have diagnosed me and gotten me referrals quickly and are always friendly and quick to check in throughout the stay. No one likes waiting rooms but if your leaving the hospital to just go home...then clearly there are others who were triaged appropriately ahead of you that need the services first.

I always choose alexandria hospital in ingersol I have never had a bad experience here. Dan is an amazing nurse and has helped me a few times . Very gentle. This place is always thorough, and runs more tests than any other place. They always look into the problem if you want results come here. They don’t rush you out like other hospitals. Always offer blankets, foods, drinks etc

I’m still in absolute shock how the nurses an doctors took NO action taking the right measures in treating my sister an her daughter after a serious car accident. They were flipped on a highway, had to be taken in an ambulance and yet they made them wait in a waiting room for almost an hour an half?? Yet people who looked to have a “cold” was placed first into a room?!? Then even afterwards had to wait almost another half hour for a doctor to even speak to them after they were into a room. On top of that both of them were still going through shock an incredible pain, but did they take them seriously? Apparently not. The doctor didn’t do any head scans to make sure there was no bleeds even after request (but he thought it was not necessary). He didn’t even check their eye dilation to make sure they didn’t have a concussion, even if he didn’t want to do a scan he should’ve at least done that!! I mean seriously?? What doctor doesn’t do that to insure the safety of his patience? My fiancé who’s in the military had to check my nieces pupil dilation right after the hospital to find out she had a concussion. Now she’s been in an out of London hospital for a week and it’s not getting better an now more tests are being done. WHEN THIS COULD'VE BEEN SHOWN THE DAY OF AT YOUR HOSPITAL!! I’m incredibly disappointed. You either need to hire different staff or take the time to actually take care of your patients properly.

Just had a fantastic emergency room experience. In just over and hour I went through Triage, saw a Doc, got a chest ex ray, reviewed the ex ray and got a prescription to treat my bronchitis. Super pleasant and professional staff. I am very happy this hospital is here to serve us!! Thanks Emergency room staff

This review isnt directed at the hospital but the doctor in Emergency today. If I have to go to emerg again and Dr Blake is the physician on call, I will leave. I have always and still do love this hospital and this is the one time I left angry with the doctor not the hospital. Enough said.

Where to start.... I am truly discussed in the system at this hospital. We went into for our family, with no one in waiting room. So we thought hey wont be long.... um well hrs go by. More people come ( most had apt or were told to return next day...)???? We finally ask how long they expected as no one getting called in. They told us well there is only one dr in the WHOLE ER DEPT???? Wow... so after waiting for 5hrs I looked up and saw 2 ambulance come in. Unfortunately we decided to leave and go elsewhere as we weren't going to be seen by a Dr there. Im utterly applaud that this is where my taxes go. To a system I can't use when peopleare in need. We went to urgent care in london was literally in and out in 20min. I really understand and am patient to wait. There was a young girl w her mom who left cause they were too busy to check her bandage and also an old man who had an apt left alone for 5hrs sitting there no one helping him. This isn't my first horrible experience I've had w this hospital... and for your own safety don't waste your time. Travel somewhere they can actually take the time for their patient.

My accident prone kid got hurt again! I usually avoid going to hospital but his ankle looked nasty. So at 10pm on Friday night we headed to hospital. Only one other person in waiting room. Let me say that our visit didn't start good. The triage nurse was a witch! Mean,rude and quickly passed it off as a twisted ankle. She then tried to administer children's Tylenol. I refused and gave him Advil. X-ray was quick and Kelly at registration was great! (Nice to see familiar faces). We didn't wait long at all and when we made it into a room we met the most amazing Dr. He was young and trendy and made my son laugh through the pain. They compared war wounds and he made fun of my sons smelly feet lol. He made us feel relaxed and comfortable. He even called for a second opinion. Huge respect for this guy. Dan fitted us for crutches and walked us to the door!! This is what a small town hospital can be like. Unfortunately it happens few and far between. Th Dr even joked about us making a good google review. I'm sorry Dr.S I can't spell your name but you rocked it!! Thank you!!!!!

Didn’t wait very long which was good because I’m in excruciating pain. However, I got to listen to the unprofessionalism of the nurses and doctor on staff this evening. Went in with an extremely painful knee only to be told go home and take Tylenol and Advil... as if I hadn’t been doing that already! I can barely walk and because of my age “it’s likely not a fracture” and declined even taking an X-ray which I heard before I even sat down in the room! I’ve completely wasted my time and with no sort of solution to my problem. Except to call my family doctor if the pain persists for more than a couple months. This is honestly ridiculous. When a person is in pain ( especially for over a week WHICH I STATED) only to have them walk in the room for 2 mins to tell me to go take Tylenol and Advil? Obviously something is wrong. Thank you for wasting my time. Please continue your conversations about other patients which the entire triage heard and about how your husbands birthday is happening and how you turn 30. Yes much more important than patient needs. Sorry to be an inconvenience to your JOB!

Waiting time is crazy. 7 hrs right now and I haven’t seen a doctor yet. They giving us excuse that we have emergency. So what about the people in pain in the waiting room, if this was not an emergency we wouldn’t come to this place. Soo tired sitting here for hours and in pain.

My 87 year old mother went by ambulance in the night. Was in alot of pain with her foot. They called me in the morning to pick her up. When I arrived I asked what was wrong, they had no idea! Did no test...nothing. . So I took her back to her retirement living only to have to call another ambulance to take her to University hospital.

I’ve attended the Emerg at Alexandra Hospital numerous times and overall am very satisfied with the care and attention given. We are lucky to have such a great hospital here in Ingersoll!
