Went with my 10 year old daughter waited 3 hours to have DR do nothing gave me advice I can find on internet. So I had to take daughter home and self treat with info from internet will take her tomorow to hospital this is I COME TO WORK TO COLECT A PAY CHECK PLACE. Go to emergency this place does nothing just a chit chat place for the staff to socialize

Britta Volkhardt

Professional, polite, friendly and a short wait time. They definitely did their best to give me everything I needed for my health issue. Great staff who actually listen without a judgemental ear. I definitely can’t say that about all the clinics I’ve been to.

julie vanagas

I was there with my son this afternoon at about 1:30. We didn't even go in as there was a sign on the door saying they were not seeing anymore patients. They gave the medimap website or proceed to Lions Gate. I thought Urgent Care was to take the pressure off LGH? I did not realize Urgent Care operated like a clinic where they have a quota. Beware!

Beverley Rapley

The staff were all women, all wonderful and all absolutely efficient, professional, positive and badass. Rarely have I felt so safe and cared for in a medical facility.

Miss Tornado

Very friendly doctor and staff. They do Covid-19 testing and I highly recommend them.

Horrible experience. I injured my rectus abdominis 8 times during last year before I find the good treatment for it. Yesterday after an intense physio session, I was not feeling right and the pain for me can lead to syncope which can be pretty scary as I cant do anything about it. Anyway, after not being able to get in touch with my doctors I went to North Vancouver Urgent and Primary Care Centre and ask for help as it was already past 6pm and I had no other options. Doctor Robin Mckay refused to prescribe me 2 to 3 pills of tramadol for the night until I was able to see my doctor because he believe I am a drug addict?! You guys felt fine to prescribe 3 different kind of anti depressant in the last 3 months but not 3 pills of mellow opioid when you know I have no other options than waiting hours at the hospital for it. thanks homie xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

I left after about 4hours of waiting without treatment because it just became a waste of time and it wasn’t an emergency. Everyone was nice and professional and they did call me about 20mins after I left to find out why I left. They also did warn me it’d be at least 2-3hrs. That said, budget an all day affair in the waiting room. Maybe this is standard for walk-in clinics but I don’t have the grit and determination it takes to make it to the end.

The UPCC is exactly the kind of service we need in our health care system - something in between the ER and a walk-in medical clinic. I didn't even know it existed until my chiropractor (the wonderful Dave Olson) told me to get there without delay. I had developed excruciating pain in my knee, totally out of the blue, and could tell it was not something my chiro could treat but felt I could get a prompt diagnosis and instructions on "what next?" from him. So, I headed for the UPCC on Esplanade and was checked in by friendly staff, then seen by (I think) nurse-practitioners for an initial assessment. I had to wait 1.5 hours, but that seemed perfectly reasonable to me. I was then seen by Dr. Lirenman who gave me a thorough examination. He suspected gout, but also ordered an X-ray to rule out any physical damage. It was so great to have the X-ray right in the facility - otherwise I'd have had to wait another day to go to an imaging centre. The X-ray showed no damage, so he prescribed an anti-inflammatory as well as an antibiotic. Within less than a day the pain was gone and I was happily walking again. THANK YOU! Alec

please don’t visit i wasted my 2 hours travelling here.

My son was in a fever and we had to sit there for three hours to watch everyone who entered the clinic after us to get visited. I asked the receptionist why everyone got priority, and we were still waiting. The response was that "the patients get in based on emergency". We had to leave as we did not have another few hours to wait all day to see the doctor. The service is very slow and poor.

Shadi Gholizadeh

Excellent service and super polite ????????

Was advised go to this care centre today for heart check up after a walk-in. There was a bit of a wait but everyone was really nice and professional. The nurses took time and listened every concern I had- and the doctor really took time to make sure nothing was missed. Thank you all!

Covid test takes 4.5 hours in line

I waited 4 hours to visit a doctor for my severe neck pain, she (Dr. Rebecca) said: "Take some Advil (I've been on Advil for 5 days), nothing else could be done (there are plenty ways for pain management), nobody will die of a few days in pain". Thank you Doc for compassionate!

This Care Centre is excellent and if you're fortunate enough to see, Dr. Aaron Gropper, you will leave there feeling like you've seen the best Doctor in your life. The 'ideal' Doctor who validates your pain, listens to your problems and treats you with "professional courtesy". He is Focused, Knowledgeable, Empathetic, meticulous, one who pays extreme attention to detail. This Doctors confidence gave me confidence. Thank you Dr. Gropper for all you did for me.

Alexa Freudigmann

Efficient, friendly staff, and definitely the way to go if you want to be in and out more quickly than an ER visit or have a non-urgent medical issue. Testing on site, as well as x-ray. We will definitely go there vs. Lionsgate depending on the issue. To be clear we’ve had only great experiences at LGH, I just like the idea of not clogging them up with non-urgent issues.

Farzan Javaherchi

Waited 4 hours before I could even see a doctor. No one tells you how long you have to wait, "you just have to wait a little bit, okay?" After waiting 3.5 hours, I asked a nurse when I was going to see a doctor and her response was "oh were just waiting for your xray results to come back." I hadn't taken an xray.... Horrible experience, go somewhere else.

Andrew

I decided to go here instead of Lions Gate for head injury. I was in and out, with 5 stitches (and a bad haircut) in an hour! This is a great bridge between the Hospital ER and a family doctor or walk in clinic.

The facility is clean, it’s well organized, they have excellent policies and procedures in place that take into consideration the health and wellbeing of both the patients and staff. I am pleased that this facility exists and that these doctors care enough about the patients in the community to offer in patient care. The wait times are long (3+ hours) but the staff is kind, courteous and the medial doctors are amazing. They are tirelessly filling in and providing required in person service that the primary care physicians are refusing to provide during a pandemic. This urgent care centre is bridging the gap on the northshore. The long wait times are due to the high volume of patients not being seen by their primary care physicians at this time and not due to the clinic itself. The clinic is very efficiently run in every sense of the word. During the pandemic most walk in clinics and physician’s offices are not having in person visits. its leaving the majority of patients without primary care. This shouldn’t be happening during a pandemic. Some situations are not considered emergencies so a visit to the hospital isn’t necessary but there are certain things that require in person care. the family doctors only doing virtual visits it makes attending to issues that require in person difficult and things are not being addressed properly or missed. This urgent care centre fills that void. They will see patients that require in person care that don’t require a trip to the emergency room. This is one positive that came out of this adverse situation.

Griffin E

Its generally good and/or great but the main thing against it is time and space management as well as the obvious waiting for hours problem that all other clinics in Canada have so this’ll be an average 3 - 3.5

CH6ENG.

fast waiting time, good staff. doctors r fast in solutions and works good. my problem is almost gone in 2-3 days. thank u

Care to share the new address at least in your website? The address is changed to 255 Lloyd ave ,i arrived there and i saw it on the wall .

Charlotte Skulbru

Fantastic care

Ken Moore

Friendly staff. Good doctors. I'll be back!...well hopefully I won't, but if I need urgent medical care then I'll come here rather than the ER. Check medimap.ca for wait times.

Great staff

Ritika (Ritika)

I am very impressed with everyone I encountered at this clinic, from the front desk personnel to the triage nurse, and another nurse. But I was even MORE impressed with the doctor who saw me, Dr. Terrence Fellows; not only was Dr Fellows very, very thorough but he was also genuinely kind and concerned; so conserned about my health that the next day he called me at home to ask how I was doing! How many doctors who don’t even know you do this? I was blown away! Dr Fellows is a rare gem and we are so blessed to have doctors like him and medical clinics like this one. Thank you to Dr Fellows. all the staff and the government of BC!

Tyler Ellement

How do you “close” an urgent care clinic 5 hrs early and refuse any additional patients. Then they simply end up stacking more at Lions Gate ER, where they should not have to go for a couple stitches. There are much bigger emergencies. Lions Gate staff were furious and quite vocal about it. All it did was unbalance the load on the hospital when the urgent care clinic has way more room in the building to accommodate waiting patients. Kudos to LGH for managing it the way they did, it was impressive given the volume of patients there just for first aid. Dr was still focused, kind, and overall amazing despite the (organized) chaos.

Shannon-Denise Smith

Very friendly staff even though it's a stressful environment. Went here after turned down at the 13th and Marine clinic in West Van because my son had a cough! This clinic is very clean and professional and like I said, kind staff.

parnian rezaei

I give this center a 5-star rating because the front desk lady (I think she is ethinically philipino, with short straight hair and glasses) was so nice and helpful. I absolutely adored her kindness through interacting with her as I was having an issue with getting a document for my COVID test result. She patiently helped me understand how I can solve my issue and really did everything she could to help me. You wouldn't go to a medical clinic if it is not for something important, and if you happen to run into someone that is genuinly kind like her, it makes a huge difference. Other than that, the nurse and the doctor who helped me were also very professional, respectful and patient. I highly recommend their service.

Alice Ip

Urgent care provided with professionalism. Thanks to the great team that that got me the care I needed.

Angel Chok

The doctor I saw today was wonderful. He took the time to really listen to my concerns and was very helpful. Waited for about 5 mins to see a nurse and another few mins to see a doctor.

Brandi Scales

Horrible wait times with very few patients. This place is completely understaffed and unable to provide any sort of timely service. Wait times constantly exceed three hours or more. Don’t go here!

Sean Seguin

Worst place I ever been too, get help from a Doctor and I tell him what's wrong with my ear and then doctor ask me, what can he do for you. You are the doctor, so you tell me! They were closing early too rushing me out! Front desk Admin is so nice! Doctor a had was not professional

Zachary Zsasz

Fast, efficient, compassionate. No judgement just quality healthcare.

Arrived at 9.30 am - it is now 2 pm - 4.5 hours later and I am still waiting to be seen No idea why - it’s not like the waiting room is busy Such a waste of peoples time ! Very frustrating Staff are friendly and previous visits have been much more efficient Will certainly think twice about returning

Bonnie Proulx

Short waits very informative

Yasamin Amanollahi

Extremely unwelcome and impolite receptionist on the phone! She doesn't listen and interrupted me. Also, very rude.

Jim Menzies

I gather there is a 1hr. 30 wait with no seating for sick people.

Candice Windbiel

Great experience. The Dr. and all the staff were friendly and very knowledgeable. Thank you for making me feel relaxed and not stressed.

ks pp

I'm truly touched with their professional. doctor, nurse, receptionist, and pharmacist all kindly treated me, listened to my symptom carefully... I greatly appreciate them

devon anderson

Incredibly long wait time, half the staff was great other half sure not deal with the public. Watched multiple people called before me even though they came in long after. More of a social club then emergency clinic. Find another option!!

Sara Sedaghat

NOT welcoming atmosphere, the staff are extremely rude and disrespectful, argumentative and have a terrible attitude. The receptionist even throw off my care card and asked me not to come there next time I need to be tested for Covid. But the nurse and doctor were very professional.

Alison Sharpe

We recently had to make a trip to NV Urgent and Primary Care Centre and we found everyone we interacted with to be amazing. The check in staff were efficient and kind, the nurse who took my daughter's pulse etc was super friendly and easy going, and the lovely doctor who helped us navigate her woes was so calming and helpful. We felt very valued, appreciated, and heard. It was an excellent experience of care at a stressful point in time.

I needed to have an xray and minor surgery to remove part of a sewing needle that broke off in my toe. The staff were very kind and helpful. The process was straightforward and they handled our needs via triage, as expected. It took a while to get through the process but, again, that was to be ecpected. Given my injury type, I would definitely use their services again. Thank you to Dr. Torkjazi, Nurse Christine and the rest of the staff!

Toni Bowra

I had such a wonderful experience here. Everyone was so friendly and kind. The receptionist, admitting nurse and nurse practitioner could not have been nicer. The nurse practitioner, I believe her name was Leah, called me the next morning with my results, which I have never ever had happen before

I was very pleased with the cleanliness and staff and the doctors courtesy, excellent receptionist at the time which is what u don't see now days, I was very happy w overall procedure, doctor was very very knowledgeable, staff were polite and good.

I went in last Thursday at 4:30 and was escorted upstairs by one of the staff. The sign said that there was a 2.5 hour wait time, which I figured was an average. I was checked in after one hour by the nurse, who did a basic review, and I was sent back to the waiting area. At 5:30 one of the staff told another to put the sign up that they were not taking any more patients. I then knew the wait time was wildly wrong as the clinic closes at 9pm. The reception staff then went home around 6, leaving me and seven other patients in the waiting area. I left at 6:30, with the other patients still waiting to be seen. No one had come into the room except for one staff who typed on the computer for a few minutes and then went back into where the doctor was. I can't believe there was more than one doctor available, and only three people had been seen by a doctor in the time that I was there (that I counted). The staff member who escorted me downstairs (you need to be escorted to and from) said that wait times were 'normally' 4-5 hours. Avoid this place at all costs. It shouldn't even be in business.

George Stewart

I was the only one in the waiting room and I still waited for over 2 hours. If this place is designed to reduce emergency room visits, it has failed. I will go straight to emergency next time.

Went to this clinic twice for excruciating pain and swelling all over my face. It literally felt like my head was being held to a stove element and my skin was melting and I had been suffering with it for three weeks. Dr Rebecca (I think Lindsey) quickly dismissed my condition as dermatitis. She walked in, looked without questions and made her diagnosis and prescribed a long course of antibiotics. Two weeks later and it was still excruciating - I could not sleep at all and needed an ice pack and Tylenol three at all times. Again -clinic looked -would not listen to extent of pain and sent me away with a dermatitis diagnosis. Became feverish and eyes so swollen could barely see. My husband's client and friend was a doctor and agreed to take a look. After actually listening, asking questions and giving me a minute of attention discovered I was having an acute allergic reaction to the vitamins I had been taking and my immune system was literally attacking me. Prescribed prednisone and blexten for a month, stopped the vitamins and condition instantly went away. I can imagine how busy clinics get but at some point clinic docs do need to stop, pause and listen as without context can throw blind diagnoses into the wind.

Terrible ! Turnover is way to long !! Was told by reception it wouldnt be a long wait time. 1.5 hours later, I ask for an update and get told it’s going to be another 2 hours .I was there for an injury , meanwhile 8 people came through and got there COVID test as a priority before myself and other injured people! Seems backwards to me . Either need another doc on staff or the current or needs to speed up . Very disappointed and still injured with no help . Thank you

Tricia Quirk

No medical exam after 6 hours wait. admitted in at 12:27pm. Front desk was efficient the clinic was not busy at all. The wait time was shown to be 3 hours 10 minutes. Front desk indicated that they had not changed the wait time , it would not be more than an hour as they were not busy. I had come in because UBC dental clinic wanted a doctor to view the hemorage that had occurred under my tongue and was not related to the extraction . I waited without any follow up.At 16:25pm I went to the medical staff to ask for medication as I had not expected to wait this long without help. MEDICAL staff all seated told me to go back to my room . Medication arrived and was told I was next to be seen. My UBC student was still checking on me all the time and asking if I had received help yet. At 17:45pm I still was waiting. My mom called the clinic asking if I was still at the clinic as she had not received a call from me. Front desk told her I had been examined by a doctor. They came into my room and told me to call my mom. I had been waiting over 5 and half hours the clinic was quiet but yet I was still been ignored. My student very concerned reached her professor he was shocked and asked me to come into The UBC clinic as no medical help had been offered by a urgent care center I waited until 18 :05 pm . I informed ,the nurse on duty that I was leaving as no help had been offered. No other patients were in the clinic it was quiet. I received help from a doctor who went beyond his duty to come in at UBC dental to exam me and write out a prescription. UBC dental clinic and myself are shocked that no help was offered after they had requested a medical examination. Please don't wait for over three hours here. Read all the bad review and leave .

Better to go to ER than this clinic. Well under staff and shortage of doctor. Rude doctor as well (at least the day that we visited). The doctor has not learned how to talk to and treat small kids. Wait times +3.5 hrs at the best. I have spent less time in ER in the past. No surprise why people still prefer to visit ER which defeats the purpose of this clinic. No parking. If you lucky to find a parking on street (which is max 1 hr limit), you probably need to leave the clinic 3-4 times to move your car during your visit to not to get a ticket. Slow and not caring staff. Not sure what is the purpose of this clinic compared to an ER. well below expectations.

wardleworld

Long wait but if its truly a critical care situation you will get proper care by an experienced and knowledgeable physician unlike other random clinics

Jane Webb

Such a wonderful place... we're so lucky to have it! State of the art facility, very polite and professional staff and no long waits!

Bree Stoddart

I visited Urgent Care in North Vancouver on 22October because of a bad ear ache and sore throat. I was a bit skeptical about Urgent Care because some of the reviews are pretty damming. But since my own GP is not seeing patients because of Covid, there was no choice. Urgent Care proved to be excellent from the security guards who escort patients individually to and from the main area, to reception, to the efficient and friendly nurses and finally to the doctor who saw me. Dr. Andrew Wright was absolutely excellent. He examined me, he did not rush, he listened and asked questions and then he advised what action needed to be taken. A day later, I was on the mend. Have to say that Premier Horgan and his crew have done a great job but establishing Urgent Care Centres as an alternative to Emergency at our hospitals. Very effective, efficient and professional.

Claudia Perez

Very nice service , so fast, kindly workers. Thank you so much . God bless them . Nurses , receptionist, doctors . Muchas gracias ☺️

Incredibly disappointed in my experience with this clinic. I was referred to this clinic by another walk in clinic as I needed some immunization forms to be filled out by a medical professional in a timely manner. Understanding this clinic focused more on urgent care I made sure to call before hand to confirm they will accept this request. I explain my situation over the phone and the nurse confirmed it was a easy task to complete. Unfortunately this lead to me wait for over FOUR HOURS only to be told by the doctor to go see my GP. It could have been much longer if I hadn’t asked them during the 2 hour and 3 hour mark while waiting (honestly I wouldn’t be surprised that they probably forgot about me). It was truly a nightmare having zero support and simply sitting idly by. The waiting rooms where freezing and every time I got up to ask for any updates, the response was “the doctor will be with you shortly.” The situation could have been completely avoided had they actually cared about my situation and had the proper information during the phone call saving me 4 hours plus a 1 hour drive. Deeply deeply disappointed at the state of this clinic. Side note: The man next to me had a bleeding leg and was bitten by a dog. If this was actually a “urgent” walk in clinic he would have been treated in a timely fashion. Sadly for that man I watched him sit in pain for around 2 hours before he went inside to a waiting room to wait for god knows how long. I am really disappointed in the support of this medical facility. Please do better and provide accurate medical information next time. Thank you.

Melody Sh

I needed to see a doctor on thanksgiving. I called the clinic and their voicemail greeting said they are open till 9pm. I also checked their hours of operations on google which said open till 9 pm. Also checked on medimaps which stated they are open till 9 pm with 1 hour wait time. I drove 30 min and got there around 6:30 just to be turned away because their NP was done for the they. The staff said their provider is very strict and when she says she is done for the day she is done!!! If you are slow and want to close early, Make sure your hours of operations are correct. Your phone line can not says you are open till 9 and then you decide You are done for the day at 6:30 pm. If you are a strict person then make sure google and your phone line and your medimap info is upto date! This is VERY unprofessional considering this is an alternative to hospital emerg for non emergency matters!!

I went to UPCC on 8 Sep 2021 for my 11-month-old baby. When I arrived at 11 am there was just 3 people ahead of me and the sign said that there was a 2 hours wait time. I was waiting for visiting doctor til 2:30 pm! then they told me you should wait more 1 hour! After my protest, the nurse told me that you can send your complain to the management. After wasting 4 hours we left there without visit the doctor. Wish I could give less than one star.

Jae S

First time going here and it was a pleasant first experience. Everyone was really nice and the lady doctor that helped me was very helpful and made sure I was taken care of. Thank you!!!

Roy

Terrible experience with this care center. I had a deep painful cut on my hand and the nurse did not clean nor apply any antibiotic ointment ,just wrapped a gauze and tape. Then I was told to wait for a doctor for a tetanus shot in the waiting room.I waited 3 hours and asked how long I have to wait and she answered "I don't know".Then I was told to wait in the doctor's office for another 1 hour but the doctor never showed up.No tetanus shot and no service and no communication.I was kept waiting and hanging forever. No explanation was given to me.Very disappointed.Waited for 4 hours.

Bob Martin

Thought this was a walk in clinic to help LGH, but went there just 20mins ago 4:10pm and was told by the receptionist that they were FULL even though they close at 9:0pm. Only 1 doctor available.

Lexie Glowa

The covid 19 testing site has been relocated to 255 Lloyd Ave North Van ICBC Claim Center. It went into effect Oct. 8th 2020. It was on the door when I arrived to this place. Just to let people know.

Sereen Hamadea

I went to the center and I was suffering from some health problems and they were very nice in addition to the accurate diagnosis and prescription of the appropriate medication.

Bentley Mews

As no longer having a doctor, I walked into the medical clinic for someone to look at a suspicious mole. I saw Dr. Moore who was very professional and efficient. He suggested I have the mole dealt with as soon as possible. So I had him surgically remove it and stitch me up. I was in and out within 1 1/2 hours including wait time. 8 days later I had my stitches removed my Josh, a nurse practioner. Facility was great, all the staff friendly and efficient and Dr. Moore and Josh were fabulous.

Rob Bell

Wow. I had such a great experience here. From the MOA, triage nurse, doctor and follow up nurse, everybody was pleasant, delightful and professional. I had Morgan as a doctor. He stitched me up and had a nurse give me a vaccine for tetanus. Great job everyone

Jessica Lajcik

I am so impressed with the staff here. The clerks, nurses and doctors were kind, compassionate, thorough, and professional. I waited just about 2 hours (their quoted min wait time when I arrived, and as quoted on waited.com) Left with the medical diagnosis, prescription, advice, and moral support that I needed. You guys are doing an amazing job and making a huge difference to accessing medical care through the pandemic. Thank you

Lisa Walker

I went to this location as I needed stitches on my face. Staff was kind and welcoming. Waited about an hour, not too bad at all considering the craziness of Covid. Gillian was the amazing professional I was lucky enough to have take care of me. I felt comfortable right away, she is so professional but with a much needed sense of humour! I felt safe and confident as she brought another Dr in to discuss my situation. She took her time, told me she was slow and because the lacerations were on my face she wanted to do the best she could for me. 15 stitches, minimal pain, a few laughs and easy chit chat throughout the process. I can’t thank you enough Gillian, you truly are amazing! PS: got the stitches out today, you did a really great job????????. Merry Christmas, stay safe.

Suman M. Melville

They are short staffed and have zero communication I came here with an allergic reaction and they made me wait for 3 hrs with no response I finally got in and the dr was good but the process up to seeing him was very bad
