I've had to go to the ER here twice now. The staff were awesome, and whisked us away to a privet isolation room both times (contagious). Even the doctors were friendly and kind with me and my family, and patient. They seem to balance their attention well, and not dote on the whims of those less in need. The hospital is clean, the workers seem happy, and treatments effective. I think they've got the right thing going on.

Terrible gallbladder removed. They cut my vein and sent me home in very bad conditions, after 4 hours at home I had to get back to the hospital in ambulance and stayed 6 days in observation. They discovered that I was bleeding inside after 12 hours of waiting.

Doctors here are great and most of nurses are too. I have had quite a few experiences with nurses acting out of line. Reason I give three stars is because of horrible wait you have to go through to get in, why spend money on renovations when they should have spent it on the size of the ER!

My son was born with multiple medical needs. He was bounced around from hospital to hospital during the first few weeks of his young life until Dr. Rielly took us under his care at the LGH. We received the out most care from all the staff at 3 east during our 8 weeks of stay. Thank you for everything Bita

I was told at the door that I dont want to go through the emergency. And not to come this way unless I have symptoms. I was going for an MRI. ER is waaay too busy. I have been there a few times and barely could get any help. It takes minimum 2 hours for a doctor to see you.

Great ER staff. Ethically questionable management and administration. (I can only hope they are reading this ????) Terribly lazy and complacent recruitment incentivization and retention. Surprising amount of bullying particularly from management, and administration and punitive policies with regards mandatory flu shots for staff. Even those who are not involved in bullying make superficial, twee anti-bullying gestures (they bully people into wearing pink shirts!) Little if any empathic, debriefing or support of overworked, burned-out, abused, assaulted and traumatized staff. I would absolutely endorse working here, but be very wary of management. "Watch your back." Dont ever speak to ANYONE in management without union representation. Consider recording any meeting, but notify them you are recording it.

After 6 hrs wait the physician spent 2 min , response was: it is true you are tilted to one side and you can not walk and you have lot's of pain but stretching is the solution !!! No imaging , no proper diagnosis and 6 hrs wait time!

I came in with a ruptured Achilles' tendon, came in at 11am still here at 6pm, spent $30 in parking and yet I have not seen the doctor to get my diagnosis. My back is sore from sitting on hard chair and am feeling very frustrated. It would been respectful if I had been kept informed , understand the triage process but being kept updated would have been useful.

My wife and I attended Lions Gate Dec. 19/14 for pre-op. services. (blood work, x-ray,physio. fittings, Anesthesiologist consult, and Nurses consult). This is the 2nd time since August that my husband has been in and this time they are kicking him out as a nurse said that he is okay to go as he isn't asking for his pain meds that much. Well he is not able to walk without pain that makes him cry ,yes a 66 year old man crying in pain. Just last week I was informed by our family Dr to think of extended care for him and that there is a bed for him so there were no worries.So I am refusing to release him and the higher Gods at LGH can go to hell. Most of the nurses have been Great but I will get to the bottom of this today or the Media will be involved

I had a serious stroke whilst up Grouse Mountain. I'm convinced that the Lions Gate Hospital saved me from permanent severe disability. At one stage, 8 staff members were working on me. I never encountered any unpleasantness from any of the staff when faced with nasty tasks. In fact it would appear that all the staff were hand-picked. The level of professionalism was quite remarkable.

It was a rude and most unpleasant experience. I live 400 kilometres away from the hospital, and phoned to enquire about the state of my 97 year old mother who had been admitted yesterday. Despite being very brief, quietly matter of fact, and to the point, in my first and only conversation with the nurseI I was essentially told not to bother them because they were too busy.
