It's okay if you speak French
(Translated) I never wait long (Original) j'attend jamais longtemps
Been here at the Dumont for more than 11 hours and all I need is a doctors note for my job cause I was sick.
I have never been treated better then at the George Dumont. The doctors and staff are down to earth and extremely helpful. I have never been made to feel like a burden
Good
stupid :(
This is one of the worst hospitals to go to for mental health in the area. The doctors lie and don't show up, don't release you when they say they will, and generally mistreat patients. Their patient advocates don't do anything for their patients, and the staff refuse to contact doctors for people SCHEDULED for surgery the next day! Disgusting violations of human rights.
I went there for a throat infection. I was in and out in one hour and the doctor on call even gave me a phone call when he got my results to tell me that I should start taking the antibiotics. Exceptionnal experience!
Worst hospital, you always wait so long and they dont care until its too late
(Translated) My stay for childbirth went very well. Very friendly and professional staff. (Original) Mon séjour pour accouchement s'est très bien passé. Personnel très aimable et professionnel.
Just sad
worst experience ...
My appointments here have been very efficient with friendly and helpful staff.
Slow, ridiculous that they only have one doctor when the emergency department is packed
doctors and staff seem to have a hard time if you dont speak french
Easy to find where you need to be and friendly staff.
I am presently sitting here in the ER and have been waiting for 14hrs just to see a doctor. Another woman was brought in by an ambulance and was seated in the waiting room for 5hours before she was called in. A young teenager with his mother came in 14 hours ago to receive stitches and just finally got called in. Worst hospital I have been to in all of Canada. I do plan on contacting the Director of this hospital as well as the Ministry of Health. Like a previous review that I seen. The nurses got their license in a Fruit Loop box and the doctors are sleeping in the backroom.
The first and last visit, that will never be repeated. I fall on the web floor at the restaurant and cut upon my right eyes. I can here to check if I need any scratchers or no, Ian waiting since 8 pm and it is now 1 am, they took more than one hour to change shifts. And after all the time when I ask she gave me a paper of the after hours clinics in Moncton and say you can check them tomorrow. I don’t know what they mean by emergency if you may wait for more than 5 hours to see a doctor.
The cleanliness in the surgery waiting room is deplorable. See attached picture. That has been there for 4 hours during a wait time and was dried up since we arrived so I have to assume it's been there for 5 hrs min. Not acceptable. Staff seem good but cleanliness makes me worried to touch anything for feel of germs.
I actually frequent this place alot due to not having a family physician yet; and every visit in the last 2 years (at least 20) have been fairly well. I love the staff, the are incredibly nice and positive, and the wait times are appropriate according to the triages, I've yet to complain!
A-1 service here. Highly recommended.
Great place
Always gets me the help I need big or small and answer any questions I have
******I wish i could give less than 1 star!****** WORST HOSPITAL EVER! DONT GET HELP THERE!! I h a heat stroke in my car in my parking lot... Since they thought it was a seizure they took my driver's licence ... my EEG and everything was normal... And sending me dr to dr to have my drivers licence restored no luck... Cost me my job... My career (it was required for college) my follow ups.. had to walk 45 minutes to get there cause i live in dieppe for college and i dont know a single soul here. Hope they read this and thanks for ruining my life ...work ...studies ...careers .. on top on it.. im a single mother!
As long as you receive Dr Power, Dr Lord or Anand you'll be treated seriously and with respect. Some others will just want to get rid of you ASAP. It's well worth the wait for these services.
Negative 5.
Parking at this hospital is very difficult, not enough parking and long waits for spaces
Stupid System in emergency room, actually its not a emergency room its a waiting area. I came 2:30 pm and stayed till 12:30 am in the morning. I went to the lady 3 times between these 10 long hours of waiting, still she is saying we have only 1 doctor, so we don't know how much time it will take. I told her I saw people who came after me, they got medical treatment before me how, because they had more emergency. Like all other people are waiting, they don't need treatment, they need to wait even they came first. I hope New Brunswick medical department fix this issue and make a good working system here, so that people don't have to wait like 10 or 12 hours here.
I’d leave zero stars if that was an option. Emergency department is awful. Everyone knows the stories of wait times in emerg but you’d think after 10 hours of waiting you’d be treated some compassion or respect. I wish I knew the drs name but it was not given. She was rude and condescending - wrong profession lady. Also it’s filthy in there. I witnessed absolutely no sanitization in their waiting areas.
(Translated) Very friendly staff, the staff is friendly and professional. (Original) Very friendly staff, le personnel est amiable et professionel.
The waiting time no matter what is around 4 to 7 hours my wife its pregnant but that doesn't matter for them if you don't have part of your brain out don't bother to go
Sitting in the emergency at this moment. Waiting over 5 1/2 hours to see a doctor after being in a car accident and the staff on today couldn't be any more ignorant and rude. Absolutely a disgrace of our health care system. When I went to ask for assistance they turn their nose up.... unbelievable.
Horrible. Very unprofessional. I’ve been here for 5hours with 2 other patients and they haven’t called one name yet . No ambulance has got here or anything! The doctors & nurses don’t care about they’re patients and I’m pretty sure they’re asleep back there . Like it’s 5:30 Saturday morning, I didn’t come here to “hang out “ . If you need a hospital skip this one . If I could give this a lower rating I definitely would !! ( btw the nurses are clueless here also ) could have got they’re nurses course in a box of fruit loops!!!! Very very not impress with this service
(Translated) I have always had very good care in this hospital. (Original) J’ai toujours eu de très bons soins dans cet hôpital.
Longest wait ever 6 hours so far
This is definitely the saddest part of Canada going to this hospital is devastating is so sad is the only option
After waiting for 6 hours in the waiting room, I noticed there are people being called in that arrived after I had. Afraid I was missed I asked the receptionist where I was on the list. She blatantly lied to me saying that they're only seeing people who arrived at a certain time, when I had fully watched these people who had been triaged after I had being called in as she was lying to me. Terrible slow service. Honestly feels like the doctors spend more time slacking off and talking than they actually spend helping people. Inhumanity at its finest as they allow sick people to sit in pain wondering when they'll get help.
(Translated) Excellent staff despite the obvious lack of healthcare workers throughout Canada. They work EXTREMELY hard. Was surprise of how patient and professional they are toward unsatisfied patients. They do their best with what they have and do a LOT of overtime. They are overworked but it hardly shows. Be nice with your healthcare workers. You'd be surprised how many of them go to work even when they don't feel well just to make sure you get decent care. _____________________ Excellent staff despite the obvious lack of health care workers across Canada. Absolutely terrible service and ER wait times.

Still sitting here after an hour and a half waiting on an appointment that was for 10:15 for the husband. He is getting frustrated which in turn is starting to really anger me. They talk about respect and keeping appointments but yet they show no respect nor keep appointments they make.

Waited 14h with a 6 year old and gived up waiting guess kid with a neck injury is not important what a waste of tax money
Very fast in outpatient/emerg. Doctors are caring and professional.
Lack if service or caring for the people in the emergency department is completely awful. 9ne gentlemen collapsed in pain the male nurse propped him up in a chair gave him two pills and left him in the waiting room.....that was 4.5 yours ago!!!!!!!
This hospital endangers patients in the psychiatric ward by not letting them go to scheduled surgeries, doctors lie and don't release patients when they say they will (if you ever even see the doctor on time). Horrible place for anyone needing help to go, they will mistreat you and make you wish you hadn't gone.
(Translated) Take the time to look carefully at your patients because I have the impression that those who do not have a family doctor especially are neglected. My sister (she is resting peacefully) has often been to the hospital emergency because she was not well, but it was a total failure and a big waste of time. They never knew how to detect the liver problem that she suffered until the physical appearance of the symptoms, which is very unfortunate. Never again !
Its rediculous wait time its been 8 hours and still waiting need stiches mayby operate cut nerves on my finger in 5 hours they call2 personne in unbelievable its worst than animal hospital no dog or cat wait that long to see a docter
Espect to be waiting 12h for service there doctor juste dont care about you. They have favorite and it stinck. They have a 1.2.3.and 4 sorting sistem so i hope your in the 1 or 2 if it's bessy cuss if your a 4 all other num will pass first.i waited 7 hour and that guy that juste came in when in imidiately after there i wass still waiting they sould have a limit of time they make you waite....REALY.....your tax pay for that...
This is the best Hospital I have ever been to in New Brunswick. The Nurses are so awesome, loving, and so kind because they truly have caring hearts about the patient's lives. They should all become Family Doctors. They're the best ever. ???????? And some doctors are great too. I hope that they will all keep safe and I wish all the Hospital Staff Members all the best too. I love you all and keeping everyone in my prayers. LORD BLESS! ????????????
Very fast and professional stuff in emergency room Thanks guys
Awesome staff and doctors
I'm patient so I don't care about waiting 8 hours. The thing is that between 8PM and 4 AM, no one came to clean nor sanitize the chairs or anything at all in the emergency room. the floor was dirty with trash everywhere. With covid, especially in a hospital, shouldnt it be sanitize at least between every patient?
What a fantastic group of people working together to make a phenomenal healing facility. What a blessing!!!
Very long wait recently
Terrible service, perhaps the triage nurse needs to brush up on the meaning of "triage"
(Translated) Firstly lack of total professionalism, loud and clear about their patients and their problem so that all people in the emergency can hear them. Give their opinion too quickly without having done more test that must not only tell you what you should feel without wanting to hear what you have to say. Some should relearn the basis of respect and empathy that I received during my visit and see the faces of others I am far from alone.
Been waiting over 15 hours so far and haven't even left the waiting room yet......I have something wrong with me that could potentially be fatal if not taken care of and they are letting all these people in ahead ands theres people that actually something more than a cough wrong with them and they can't get In , worst hospital in Canada!!!!!!
Very satisfied with the serviced received during our 5 weeks stay at the Lodge. The staff were all above and beyond the standard, the volunteers were on hand to assist us all, the activities were enjoyable, pleasing, educational to everyone. The room were exceptionally clean and more than adequate during our stay. No lack of things to do during our stay, pool, game, music, painting, carpentry, band night, bingo night and many different craft. A BIG THANK YOU to everyone who made it possible. It was so heartwarming to have met so many friends in a short time which will leave a joyful mark in our lives. Again Thank you.
Worst experience of my life never fixed one of my issues for mental health and the staff service was trash
I'm usually not one to complain but I'm extremely disappointed with the George Dumont hospital. We were there from 6am - 3pm yesterday and there were certainly a few friendly nurses and a great doctor. However , the pain got worse and we rang the bell and had it ignored THREE times while we could hear our nurse along with others laughing and chatting around the corner. It was also very dirty in there. Today , we went back in because my partner is worse than yesterday and considering its kidney problems id like to go in with her. The nurse who gives the masks at the door said I couldn't enter. I explained I was there all day yesterday with her no issues. She says "I can ask security if there's anything we can do" and turned around in French (thinking I can't understand) and said "shes being stubborn and won't listen to me . You go Tell her she can't come in". Long story short , I was upset and slightly insulted by the nurse but nowhere near aggressive. the security guard says he will go ask his supervisor if there's anything he can do . Supervisor comes out , doesn't acknowledge me and says to the 2 security guards " if she doesn't want to listen just call the cops". I was UPSET not irate. Disappointed is an understatement.
We were there yesterday I am and was so disappointed at the pediatric department . .
After waiting for 5 hours, I got examined. The doctor said I can leave and they’ll call me for the results. They never did. I visited them two days later, they said I have to wait in line again and get re-examined!
The nurses were nicer, the doctors too, plus the dietitians/diabetics, compared to the other major hospital. Extremely compassionate and provided quality care. Out of them, [sorry, forgot her name she was the only one to introduce herself to me but was the first to provide quality and compassionate care, who unfortunately was on her last day for her week's shift...not including whoever previously helped me while I was lucid from far too high of a blood sugar level] and Audrey stood out the most, plus someone I forgot to ask the name of who listened the most to me. Can't rate the ER waiting room though because ambulance bypassed that. But I will say that in Winnipeg, it is typical to wait 7 hours before a doctor sees you (3 or 4 hrs in waiting room plus 4 or 3 hours in patient room), unless about to die (broken bones or burnt skin are not on death'sdoor, despitetheamountof excruciatingpain)...in response to the bad reviewers. THE MEALS for patients? Other than them being typically not hot (which is normal for hospitals due to the busyness), proper and healthy restaurant style food! So I am still pleasantly shocked. Portion sizes are smaller though, of course. LOL Are all francophones better than my fellow anglophones? (only a half serious question)
Very quick and good service
In short long wait bad service impolite staff and sometimes seem to just try and just avoid work Waited 10 to 16h on 3 deferent visits and left the emerge Was told ones there was nothing to do for a ankle injury and to leave last year still did not heal Today been here for 10h so far there has been 70ppl walk in after me and theres only 20 chairs in the waiting room ... Triage seems to have no rime or reason No estimated time to be seen and staff are impolite and not communicative At this point if i do have a fracture its started healing wrong Whats the point of increasing yearly the hospitals budget if they do less and do not get the service we expected and use to have Other two occasion had a appointment there was a snow storm had to rebook was refused told that only my doctor could rebook the appointment that made no cense and that it happens on two occasions shows a issue but on other occasions was accepted so monthly appointment stop for a few months till i get my doctor to start them over My father cut his hand open badly waited so long to see a doctor 6h+ when he seen one they said it started to heal and could no longer administer stitches was a gruesome site Blood work gets done well and by polite welcoming professional personnel lab results are fast ... That one of the only good things i can think of saying about this hospital
Waited for 7 hours before leaving with a fractured arm Nurse told me I could be waiting up to 16HOURS Went to sackville instead WAY BETTER AND QUICKER !!
Very nice
Worst hospital ever. ER is so unorganized. We were there with our baby and they skipped our number. They told we will be next but they name other names... They told us again that we will be next but yet other name... When you have a 5 month old that has fever for 60+ hours and you wait about 8 hours at the hospital and got 0 service this is horrible!!!. We tried the small clinics but they dont take babies.... 811, 16 hours wait time... Our last resort was hospital to sit there and have nothing... Worst hospital ever and we are paying taxes for that!!!
(Translated) Worst emergency systems that exist. I went with my 4 year old daughter because she needed stitches. I arrived at 16:30 and 22:30, she had not yet passed. In addition, people who arrived around 9 am passed in front of her. WHAT SERVICE POURRI. And to say that our taxes pay for that. Really, we need a private system. I have to say, that the care I received at this hospital outweighs the Moncton hospital BY FAR!! I went in for bleeding during early pregnancy, and was very scared and upset. The triage nurse immediately took me in, I had to wait no longer than 15-20 mins and was seen by a doctor with an ultrasound machine who assured me that my baby still had a heartbeat! After that I received all the necessary tests and had the results within an hour. Everyone there is fantastic, understanding, and they are VERY organized as for the emergency department. I will continue to go here in the future and will never step foot in the Moncton hospital again.
(Translated) Great service for ME (Original) Super service pour MOI
Waited 9 and a half hours in emergency. Never said a word and when I asked the nurse to double check if my name had been called was extremely rude, didn't check, told me my name hadn't been called, without even asking my name. Then walked out because it was clear I would never be seen.
(Translated) Despite the loss of our baby Rayan, I wanted to thank the labor staff who were incredible, true professionals but above all a humanism and empathy that made us almost forget our grief. I don't remember all the names given the circumstances, but I chose Sabrina, Doctor Rousseau and the resident gynecologist.
I was given an appointment via the George Dumont hospital to see a specialist for my shoulder. They had contacted me and given me an appointment around 11am for a few days later. Once I got to the appointment I waited in a waiting area for over 2 hours to see the specialist. I understand that it is a hospital and emergencies come up so I expected a bit of a wait. However it would have been nice to been updated or informed that they were running behind schedule. I felt completely left out of the loop and was starting to worry if I had just missed my number. On a positive note however , the staff were very friendly. But this still doesn't make up for the time waiting with no updates.
(Translated) Very well organized. We have not waited much. 2 hours. Friendly staff. (Original) Très bien organisé. On a pas beaucoup attendu. 2 heures. Personnel sympa.
(Translated) Better than many hospitals I have visited (Original) Mieu que bien des hopital jai visiter
waiting over 7h30 ...
This is my third time I am visiting Dumont. Last two time after waiting for 4 hours I went out without seeing the doctor. Again today having severe stomach pain and it's been 3 hours now and now idea how much time will it take. Worst service I have seen yet in whole world yet. Travelled few countries. This is worst service.
Slowest emergency room. Nurses are rude too.
I couldn’t believe what I just experienced at the ER tonight!!! Out of the blue, I arrived to the hospital with high blood pressure, and I am not a hypertensive person. Had a electrocardiograma done , no heart attack. I was almost crying because of the burning pain on my chest, So, I asked if they could give me something for the pain or bring the blood pressure down because I started having a hard time to breath. Well , I was told to go back to the waiting room, without giving me anything or seeing a doctor yet . I told the assistant nurse in a very calm way that I could not believe that because I wasn’t having a heart attack , I had to endure that crazy pain and keep up with that high blood pressure until I was called again. Well, my friends, just for telling the truth in a very soft way, I experienced the worse way someone can be discriminated and mistreated. An hour later, still with chest pain and tingling all over my face, I asked the triage nurse if she could please take my blood pressure again ( which would be only the second time ) and her answer was , “ I am not a blood pressure taker “ you either way to see the doctor or go home” I couldn’t believe it!!! just for making that comment with the other nurse the other one comes and mistreats me in such a way !! I left the hospital right way with my pain and everything. Called a naturopath friend of mine, and told me what to do. It’s very sad to see what is happening at the ERs. The long waiting time, the lack of compassion and quality care. And yet, patients have no voice on all this. It is no right !! People deserve more respect and better care. I can count with the fingers of one hand, doctors at the ER that really love their profession and give outstanding care. Things gotta change because people don’t talk but they are tired. Run a survey and you will see. .
I was actually extremely surprised at the short wait times, I was there from 8am-11:30am in the ER. During that time I saw the doctor, had x-rays and then saw the doctor again. My ONLY complaint is the Triage Nurses... I explained the reason for my visit and they looked at me and asked, "So what are you looking for today!?" If you don't think I need to see a doctor, please just lead with that so I can go home and not think I'm dying. Also it is kinda dirty but it just looks like they need more funding for building repairs.
worst experience ever... Ive only been there 3 times, all experiences sucked but this one was by far the worst. Never returning, i'd rather drive to the states for better service. I was stuck there from 2pm to 2am without even being checked! After 12 hours, you get very frustrated and leave. They kept telling me i was up very soon, but yet kept being pushed back because they wanted to help the addicts instead. I came in for a arm injury due to not landing a ski jump. I landed directly on my arm and twisted it some nasty way, not able to move it what so ever and currently still in a lot of pain. This ski accident happened 3 days ago and i refuse to return to this hospital because i dont feel like wasting another day there without being helped. This system has completely crashed and went downhill. How dare do they call this place an emergency room if they still dont even take you after 12h! This is just ridiculous.
My choice of ER between the 2 hospitals even though I don't speak any French. Like any ER if they are backed up or it's the nurses shift change you will wait, that's they way an ER works. I am thankful we don't have a 16 hour wait like my friends in Halifax have sat through on numerous occasions. Some doctors are less "customer service" oriented but hey, how much do you feel like socializing after working 10+ hours and seeing all types of crazy sickness and (from last time I was there) unruly patients. I have never waited more than 6 hours and I am thankful that we have this service.
Emergency sucks, been waiting and waiting for hours while my husband sits here bleeding, watching them take other patients who just walked in the door! Still waiting 10 1/2 hrs has gone by
Have to say GD is the best hospital in New Brunswick.
Service in ICU was very good staff was very friendly and attentive but than we were move to the 4th floor which is under staff for sure.would only get my night time med at 11 o'clock at night.this is way to late.the bed I was on was old and I could feel all the springs through it has I am a tall and heavy man .I was put in isolation for a bacterial infection but nobody seems to know the protocol. First we had to but gloves and gown for four days than the last three days we had to but the facial mask to which I think was to late by than .if my family was not infected by then they never will be .the food was OK. Because I was in isolation the staff would only come in when necessary so my bed was rarely made unless my wife would do it.we had an issue with medical not being given but to the nurse she just said she would make a note about it. There should have been medication error done I think. Hope I don't have to go back.
