REVIEWS OF Dr. F. H. Wigmore Regional Hospital IN Moose Jaw

Holy Hyenas

I recently had open surgery and received the best experience that I could have hoped for. I went through 4 departments in total ( ER for admitting, Day Surgery for surgery prep, OR for the actual surgery, and Women's Health for post op recovery) and had nothing but caring, professional and kind people who kept me informed and gave me the impression that they love doing their job. I had complete trust in them and can't say enough about the quality of care I received while there. The food was absolutely delicious and the staff from the kitchen is very friendly. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, to the staff at the Wigmore Regional, and keep up the great work!

The doctors are indeed very nice, very caring. But when me and my mom went into the emergency, the admitting women were very rude, and trying to rush into things, when there weren't very many people there to begin with! One of the admitting women was even just filing her nails! And my mother evens works in a department there. Not going to say which one, even she says that its very unfair and a very unpleasant work experience. To work in the hospital. For the people who live in moose jaw long enough to know the old hospital, that one was actually good. The emergency room wasnt the size of an apartment, and defiantly was more in a good location. Instead of being near the outskirts of the town. Im just 12 years old, and even i know that this isnt a pleasnt or even a nice hopsital to begin with.

Excellent ER service and small wait times 9 out of 10 times.

I've been in the OR for Day Sugeries twice in the past 5 months and each time I have been treated with great care and compassion. No one likes being poked and wrapped in cords and IV's and heart monitors, etc. but the nurses working there made me feel taken care of and calmed me down before I was operated on. I'm pretty satisfied. Thank you!

Been there too many times

Horrible. Drive to Regina. I have had the misfortune of dealing with this hospital. Staff is not helpful with exception of very few. I have heard the same from others. Long wait times, zero compassion and a bad overall feeling of uselessness. Anyone that works here needs to take a long look at themselves.

2016 in Oct had a stroke Brought in by ambulance so waiting was no problem. The doctor that was on call that afternoon was excellent explaining everything to my family and what they were going to do to help me, for me the Moose Jaw hospital was great for me with in three days I was Home on the mend.

Base Damian

Ultra sound technician did not say a word. He made me and my wife concern for my unborn baby. When we try to make friendly conversations, he gave one word responses and nothing after that.. it was incredibly awkward.

Waited 1 -1/2 hrs in waiting room Sept 21st with excruiating pain as my ovarian cyst ruptured. Never saw a doctor or nurse to even check on me. I walked out in frustration. It wasn't even that busy.

The wait time here is a joke and they don't seem to care I was told 1 hr there is nobody else here it has been 3 hrs and still waiting

Ron's stay at the beginning of the month, although scary, was such a comforting one. From the emergency staff, technicians, doctors, nurses, cleaning crew, food cart people, they were all wonderful, caring, and HAPPY! Their laughter and smiles, and just thoughtfulness was such good medicine. I was able to stay with him for the 3 nights before he was much better and released. We really do have the best.

Before complaints which are nessacary for improvement!!!! Remind them of their oath they take and still do...the Florence Nightingale oath!!!!also for. (your.) privacy...remind them of their (hppa) oath signed....you can goggle these and read them...patient power.....

I had my son in this hospital 2 years ago and had a great experience the staff were wonderful and did their best. Fast forward to less than a week ago...gave birth to my daughter right from being admitted was a nightmare the nurse I had gave me the feeling she was new which is ok but have a nurse supervising....my hand is still covered in a huge bruise from having to do the IV 3 times! It took 2 tries for the catheter. After my c-section it took her 2 tries on two separate occasions to get the suppository in and both times she told me to relax so she could get it.....ummm its a pill it does not bother me or hurt, she didn't have it lined up..I could have done it faster and easier and she was able to see what she was doing! They also booted us out after 2 days of my trying to recover....I was still in tears from the pain 2 days after being home. I would like to add that they knew I was in that much pain as they walked into the room while I was crying more than a couple times...their reason "they need the bed"...so it's Moose jaws practice to send people home before they are ready and risk their health? Why not just have enough beds to move between floors? Also while I was in with my fiancé having my little girl I counted 3 people in my view on their cell phones including the person in charge of my pain...I had to tell say that I was going to be sick 3 times before he heard me. Plus your in a sterile operating room with gloves on...why are you using an unsterile dirty device! I will be going to Regina if I ever need a hospital again, I would not take this risk again!

I went to Wigmore Hospital on the 12th of December cause I was having a hard time breathing which turned out to be a heart attack and I don't think I would be alive today if it hadn't been for the doctors and nurses my appreciation goes without saying. They got me stable for the stars helicopter to take me to Regina I just can't thank everyone enough

Matthew Neuls

I chose to come to this hospital believing I'd be safe... Only to discover, the ER staff sure have a lot to say about their patient(s)... They are suffering from a superiority complex. Received the worst patient care I've ever had. Imagine if the world knew about it. Your privacy as a patient here isn't really guaranteed, consequently, nor is the staff's...

Really disappointed with the service I received. The younger lady at the front desk was really helpful as there was no other patients waiting to register, and the triage nurse that helped me was also very kind. It was what came after that I was upset with. I sat in a private room for 2.5 hours before pressing my little red button to ask how much longer it would be. I was told I probably wouldn’t be seen until after 1 and was recommended that I should have made an appointment at the walk in clinic instead. Clearly there’s and understaffing issue that SERIOUSLY needs improvement. They told me they were many many sick people today. However the emergency waiting room was quite when I got there (not a single soul) and as I walked down the hallway to my room I looked in all the other rooms and there were maybe 2 other patients waiting. Unless they spend an hour and 15 minutes with each patient then there’s really no need for me to have been told I would have had to wait 4 hours to see a doctor.

Zephyr Nixon

I was seen quickly. Nurses were wonderful. Was very grateful to them.

David Nicholson

Long waits and often don't listen. Unless you need help right now go to Regina.

About 2 months ago came by ambulance, came out alive with no permanent effects. This facility is part of the reason I have a second chance at life. I think some have bad experience here due to individual staff. Some may have used emergency room when a medi clinic would have been a better choice.

If your looking to get help here it won't happen this is were you go to bleed out like a stuck pig then die I hope this hospitals burns to the ground

On the 11-2-22 I had surgery, it was such a pleasure to interact with such a harmonious team. It would be nice to be able to thank them individually but this will have to do. Thanks for your Professionalism.

Was visiting family in town and had a heart attack. I was transferred out to Regina the same day and never got the chance to thank the staff for the excellent care I received! Thank you!

I had to spend two nights here with my infant son last week and the nurses and staff on the pediatric ward are phenomenal! I really felt like they truly cared about my baby and I and wanted to make sure we were ALL comfortable.

Jared A

Awful emergency, I would highly not recommend having a baby at this hospital either! Our son was almost killed by a Dr. Yusiff, please avoid this man at all costs. Made a complaint to the board and all he got was a slap on the hand for not using his tools correctly or how he should’ve. Extremely unprofessional

Brenda Wilcox

My husband just spent 4 nights and 5 days in this hospital and he had excellent care. Every Dept. was great. Admitting, Emergency, lab, ICU, surgical ward. Dr. Shin is a wonderful and caring man. Allie, Chantel and all the other nurses are awesome. And he enjoyed all his meals! The food he received was really good.

Matt Ursan

Horrible service and the wait times are horrendous. I literally go the 30 mins to Regina general unless it's life or death. I've waited 5 hours in emergency , the only one in the room , with a dime size hole through my foot , bleeding , 5 Hours before even getting into a room . Then another 1 hour wait after that while the staff joked around and ate doughnuts. And don't tell.me they were on a priority situation because they weren't doing anything but leaning on the desks chatting it up . Ridiculous place . Would rate 0 if I could .

Larissa in Ct scan was a complete Angel my goodness I have had multiple test but Larissa made my experience amazing! She was so professional and When she gave me the IV I never even felt it she is so gentle and kind I am very afraid of MRI or CT scans and this time was completely different.Larissa calmed my anxiety made me feel better and I completely trusted her in every way she is a great Heath care worker and I am so thankful she is part of the team at the hospital. She should train people she was a total expert . So thank you Larissa

I was in emergency on Monday February 29th for a scheduled exam through the emergency department (I had been in emergency on Saturday). First of all, the blood work lab was amazing to deal with, but it fell apart extremely quickly after that. I went to emergency to check in and was hustled to the exam waiting area where we waited for an hour before someone came out and asked me why I was there- they lost my paperwork. My reason for being there was extremely sensitive emotionally so kudos to the head of that department for getting me in when I was supposed to. Following the exam we waited for test results for over 2 hours (a total of 5 hours spent in emergency)- more and more people came into the emergency room with none moving out. I honestly didn't even think there was a doctor working that day. As we were waiting a lady brought in her husband who was really crippled over. She asked the admitting clerk for a wheel chair, at which point a nurse came out set it beside him and walked away. Another patient in the ER got up to help this woman get her husband in the wheelchair. I can't remember if it was prior to or following that, but a lady came in holding her chest. She sat in the waiting room for at least half an hour before a nurse poked her head from behind the admitting desk and yelled "Which one of you has chest pains?" First of all, if this lady was having a heart attack, why was she waiting that long to see someone!? Secondly, where is the patient confidentiality in that? Because my reason for being there was extremely sensitive (and personal) we actually left before even getting results. My biggest fear was that I would be called in the same manner. 2 hours later the ER doc called me with my results, which would have meant 7 hours in emergency. I've never been so disgusted with our health care system- I will have to be turning blue before I ever go back there.

I visited the hospital last year as I felt I had sprained my ankle, as the fall was that bad. The ER doctor told me to go about my day as normal. No X rays or ultrasounds ordered. Thankfully, I was advised by loved ones to RICE when the pain did not go away. A few doctor visits, a therapy requisition and finally an xray/ultrasound later, I have evidence of problems that could have been avoided. I also got sarcasm too on that visit. Good job!!!

Dreadful! I would recommend driving out of town. Emergency department is a JOKE. Been here since 6pm, it's now 10:48pm. Asked when I got here what the likilyhood of being done by 10 was and they said pretty good so I stayed so that I could get into my program, otherwise I would have just gotten a hotel in the first place instead of sitting here all night now I missed my program and am STILL WAITING at least I had time to make a google account so I could post this comment xD

This whole place moves at a snails pace. Terrible experience every time my family has come to "Emergency"

My son and I have stayed in several hospitals, and this one has one of the most comfortable overnight pediatric rooms we've experienced. Get clean before you go there though... the shower floor slants back into the room for some reason! Some rooms have tubs, I like those ones.

Only some doctors take you seriously, and others brush you off when you’re struggling immensely. Only have 15 rooms in emergency and will NEVER put you in a different room even if you truly need it, overall poor service and what’s the point of being a doctor if you’re going to be biased and not listen to your patient ??

Duncan Morris

Showed up behind four other people, after 2 hours none of us had moved. I asked what my odds were of seeing a doctor before midnight(currently 9pm i showed up at 7) as I am scheduled to work in the morning. I get told they have no idea and that I am free to leave whenever I want... I went to emergency because I broke my nose and think I might have a concussion, I passed out twice in the waiting room and still have blood on my face. Not sure why they call it " Emergency" or why they need ten people back there that can't help.

Tianna Dombowsky

Was in for a surgery, not important. While i was in i suffered alot of pain, some random and unknown, some meant to be there. I was hurting so bad at one point my fight or flight took over and was about to do anything to get it to stop, or just bolt even knowing i couldn't, a new night shift nurse came on and caught me in the middle of my pain attack at its worst and i took that out on her wishing itd of been taken away sooner, thats not her fault as shes doing her very best and even went around with warm blankets! I hope she accepts my apology and knows the 5 stars arent the hosptials itself but the wonderful staff that deal with all of it ???? sorry from the stressed out rude girl in 329 thank you for helping me even when i didnt deserve it ????

Emergency wait times are astronomical. They seem unbelievably understaffed. If you can actually get admitted and a bed the care received is excellent. Be prepared for a looooooooooooooooooong wait in Emerg!

Rich yee

Rude nurse in emergency.

My son was needlessly transported to nicu in regina general for a respritory issue shortly after birth because and I quote "we don't have the staff to run the cpap machine after 430.". Now I'm no specialist but in an instance such as this with a brand new hospital should we not have the staff to cover a shift or even the ability to pay some over time. Now I'm stuck with an expensive ambulance bill and had to fork over more money to stay in the hostel in regina all so my son could be removed from the cpap machine by 11 that night. Real good moose jaw real good. At this point I am now willing to drive to regina for any reason my family would need medical attention. In short the "new" hospital is a joke
