My brother had liver problems, his doctor advised him to undergo some medical exams at Fleury hospital. The doctor who performed the exam accidentally ruptured some internal organs, my brother died from an internal hemorrhage. I called for an appointment with a eye ophthalmologist clinic in Montreal, I was instructed to go to the nearest hospital emergency to obtain a doctors referral. I explained my eye condition to a nurse in triage at Fleury hospital, she told me all the doctor can do is refer me to a clinic... well I knew that. Now this exam would have taken less than five minutes because Fleury does not have ophthalmology services. I waited 10 hours before I realized they were not going to pass me to a doctor, so I returned home. This hospital does not commit to it"s mission statement. Although some patients have had good service from Fleury hospital, the majority of patients including myself fail to see the professionalism and well being of patients. I have been to Fleury hospital four (4) times in the past year, I have always waited 12 hours minimum in the emergency.

Staff was okay, but wait time was absolutely long and arduous. Fasting from the night before and making you wait nearly 8 hours for surgery is repulsive.

ESPECIALLY NOT NIGHT (Original) Je ne sais pas si vous avez déjà été à l'urgence de l'Hôpital Fleury, mais ce fut la pire expérience de ma vie!!!! Le personnel est nonchalant, IL N'Y A QU'UN SEUL MÉDECIN dans l'urgence pour répondre à tous les patients et ambulanciers. Les gardes de sécurité sont les pires aucune compassion pour les gens qui attendent depuis 6 heures, il interdisent de se reposer sur les bancs (Je prenais 2 bancs puisque j'étais allongée... je précise il n'y avait qu'une dizaine de personnes encore présente et plus d'un trentaine de places libres). J'ai dit au garde que cela faisait 20 heures que j'étais réveillée et que 6 heures d'attentes sur des bancs inconfortables m'épuisait. Il m'a tout simplement répondu vous allez causer des ennuis et en passant 6 heures aux urgences ce n'est rien! En fait, le manque de personnel leur LENTEUR EXCESSIVE (1 patients vu par le médecin chaque 45 min à 1h... TOUTE UNE URGENCE ÇA!!!), leur manque d'empathie et l'attitude arrogante des agents de sécurités ont fait de mon expérience un cauchemar!! Lorsque nous sommes arrivées à L'urgence, il devait y avoir une quinzaine de patients avant nous et lorsque nous avons quittés après 6h15 d'attente, il restait encore 3 patients avant nous. N'ALLEZ PAS À L'HÔPITAL FLEURY!!!!! SURTOUT PAS LA NUIT

Quand je lui ai demandé pourquoi vous êtes si énervée , elle me répond : "que c'est le tempérament de toutes les infirmières à l'urgence et elle n'ont pas le temps d'être calme comme au CLSC" Je peux comprendre que selon l'infirmière mon cas n'etait pas urgents ou que je n'aurais pas du venir consulter... toutefois, cela n'excuse en rien le ton et le manque de respect. L'infirmière m'a parlé avec un ton tellement condescendant et avec un tel manque de respect... que certainement je ne reviendrai jamais à l'hôpital fleury à part si on m'emmène contre mon gré. Sincèrement, j'espère trouver une façon de faire une plainte formelle à l'hopital ,car ça n'a pas d'allure. Des suggestions?

My 2 year old daughter burned with hot water. Her skin was peeled and swollen. There was no rush, staffs were so slow. We had been waited in Fleury Hospital more than four hours with my kid’s crying. Moi, toute jeune, sous le choc de me faire dire ça, naive et bébé de 9 mois dans la coquille, je capote un peu, pas mal! Il me retourne dans la salle d'attente avec un groooosss soupir... J'attend avec mon bébé, me retient de pleurer devant tout le monde, j'ai le coeur gros tout en sentant encore qu'intérieurement je ne vais pas bien.. 10 mins plus tard ça part, je respire mal, j'essaye de chercher de l'aide au bureau des infirmières mais y'a personne, je frappe comme une folle dans les portes , quelqu'un vient et me dit.. d'attendre à coté ou il y a le mur... Une infirmière vient, me donne des benadryl en PILULE... Cri** mes voies respiratoires se referment bon dieu, allume bonne femme!!!!! Elle comprend un moment donné.. CHOC ANAPHYLACTIQUE, aux amandes!!!! Couche sur la civière, m'injecte l'épipen et le docteur repasse ''Ahhhhhhhhhhh c'est vrai en fin de compte''?!.... Une de mes soeurs lors d'un curetage dû à une fausse couche ,à cette même hôpital, à attraper une bactérie DANS l'utérus... Courrez, sauvez-vous!!!!

My mother spent 1 month at hopital Fleury. Best thing I can say about this hospital is that she went home. She had a serious blockage in her small intestine and required scans to determine how to proceed. None of the treatments that she needed took place there. J'attendais longtemps pour mon tour sans aucune réponse. J'avais des douleurs énormes à cause de la blessures et pour garnir le tous une dame énervante qui n'arrêtait pas de crier et de gueuler ce qui n'a pas aidé mon mal de tête. Une autre mauvaise surprise m'attendait. On nous informe qu'il n'y a pas de médecin jusqu'à 6 h du matin. Et rappelez vous. Mon cas supposait être prioritaire. J'ai dû alors passer la nuit à l'urgence du samedi 8 h le soir jusqu'à dimanche 6 h le matin donc en gros environ 11 heures d'attente avec un front coupé et assis sur des sièges pas confortable qui m'ont causés un mal de dos. Conclusion j'ai vécu la pire expérience de ma vie. Ah oui. en attendant dans l'urgence, il y avait une famille avec un fils qui a tombé dans la salle de bain en prenant une douche il a eu un coup sur la tête par en arrière et son cas était urgent comme le mien. Devinez quoi? Ils ont dit à la famille d'aller chez eux et de revenir un autre jour.

I had a chance to go to this hospital a few times. First time I witnessed a man throwing up in the waiting room for all 9 hours he was waiting for his turn. By the morning he was of a green color, and when he asked when finally somebody would see him, he was still told to wait for his turn. And another time I went to do my bloodwork there being pregnant. And at that time I felt myself super unwell, I felt dizzy, out of breath, ready to faint, terrible. My heart rate was constantly 120 in a relaxed state and blood pressure was up. At the end of the day I was told that it was normal during pregnancy, and that all my analysis were fine, so I had to come back at home. After a few days I decided to go and take the results of my « normal » tests on my own. And it showed that my tsh was 4, elevated! All the gynecologists were saying to me that it shouldn’t be more than 2.5 during pregnancy. And I am surprised doctors at Fleury didn’t say a word about it. Indeed, I had tsh elevated before pregnancy, and I felt ok, but during pregnancy it caused me issues with heart rate and blood pressure. I found it out later when I increased the dose of Synthroid. The very next day my heart rate and pressure decreased although I had been having those issues with my fast heart rate for 2 weeks prior to my emergency visit! Other than that my B12 levels were borderline low. After I started supplementing with B12 on my own, my symptoms were GONE. I hoped that I would get some help, I felt really terrible at that time and no one at Fleury didn’t help, didn’t even mention that TSH was elevated for pregnancy, so I could at least go to my gynecologist to upper the dosage of hormone, nothing! Is it lack of attention, professionalism.... or humanity? I also had a bad personal experience with a Jewish Hospital. I think the reason is lack of compassion Update: i had another chance to visit. Receptionist nurse was incredibly rude. Avoid this hospital by all means. They take employees who CANT work with people

My mom was admitted by ambulance 5 weeks ago. She had fallen and fractured her hip...and had hip replacement surgery 2 days later. Although a mostly french speaking staff and my mom spoke no french and very little english...they made an effort to communicate with her...the food was pretty good and they took good care of her. They are under staffed but they do their best. I dont think its fare to blame long wait times on the hospital ...blame your government for that. Overall the experience was a good one considering all the poor reviews. They do make the effort with what they have and were very nice. My mom is 93 years old...she stayed there 10 days and was then transferred to notre dame de mercier for 3 weeks of rehab.

I recently went to Hôpital Fleury to have a closed reduction for my broken wrist. Everyone from the triage nurse to my ortho surgeon and anesthesiologist and OR personnel took excellent care of me and made me feel waaay less anxious about my procedure. 8th floor day surgery unit was very quiet, pleasant, and the staff are terrific. I really really appreciate that everyone I encountered was professional and very human with a great sense of humor. Kudos guys!

Ils ne l'ont même pas fait passer directement alors que son cas était extrêmement grave ( il ne pouvait pas bouger du tout ni marcher, ni s'asseoir et il était en douleur INTENSE). Ils n'ont même pas pris la peine de le mettre sur un lit durant l'attente. Il souffrait durant tout ce temps là, la douleur était vraiment insupportable et ils n'ont rien fait. Comme je vous le dis ils s'en foutent tellement des patients et je n'exagère même pas c'est vraiment ça qui s'est passé. Tu peux mourir devant eux et ils ne feront rien. N'allez jamais là même si c'est l'hôpital le plus proche de chez vous.
