Wonderful, friendly staff who are very helpful. Wait time in ER is next to none. Love that patients are actually taken seriously as well. Im smack in the middle of Fredericton, SJ and Moncton and prefer Moncton by far.

I'm sitting in this room, after coming in contact with not a cold, not the flu, but TB, and two nurses have come to tell me that I can't be tested for an unspecified amount of time. My mother and I have tried everything from asking if we can see a doctor to actually making a sign saying "Possible TB risk" which is very true and all they did was tell us it wasn't allowed and that "we are in the nurse-practitioners pile", whatever that means. We were waiting in the emergency room for two hours, and in a small room for another two hours, while a group of 5 or so nurses gossip around the nurses station just 10 feet away. No one has come to see us, and the nicest employee we've seen was a man who when we asked if he was our doctor, said "I don't know, I don't think so" as he walked away. There is a sign on the wall stating that it is the patients right to have a third person in the room during a physical exam. I wish there was a sign stating that it's the patients right to recieve medical assistance. My mother has to work, I've missed the entire school day, and we are hungry and tired and trying to be very patient. Doctors and surgeons and nurses are walking by, looking in, even making eye contact before hurrying away to somewhere else.

I was there last Friday at 1am. My kid had pain in his belly and vomited. He made an urin test, but it was 4am and NO ONE from the people waiting there when I arrived was called. At that point my son was sleeping, his pain was gone due to the Tylenol I gave him at home, so I gave up and came back home. It wasn't a big health problem, pretty much scary only because he was screaming and crying, but I feel really insecure if we have a bad emergency at night, we will probably die waiting for assistance...

Their no recording video or audio policy is an obvious attempt to silence those who have been abused and neglected by these doctors. I'm still going to record audio regardless and this time I did. Was there for blood and a biospy and during this entire time absolutely not one person smiled at me, the receptionists really need a course in social behavior and a large majority of the nurses NEED to lose weight.

I don't know why they call the emergency department in this hospital. Extremely long wait time every time I visited here. Even third world countries hospitals provide better service. Government is just wasting taxpayers money on medical systems and for no reason doctors are highly paid. Such a bad service... never want come here ebut in case of emergency had too.. but no emergency service unfortunately....

Waited from 1pm until 10:45pm just to get my name called was asked to put on a gown, and was put in a room. At some point I passed out until 1:30 in the morning, went out and asked if they forgot about me? They said no we are waiting on a doctor there is none on that side , waited until 2:30AM THEN LEFT, this place is a joke so everyone in the waiting room waiting and there is no doctor it's a hospital next time I'm going to Sussex or Sackville it's worth the drive to be out in few hour moncton hospital don't care and are a bunch of clowns rediculas!!!!should be zero stars

This is a nice hospital ,as far as hospitals are concerned! they REALLY need to do something about the parking ! That has to be the worst setup for a parking lot I have EVER had to try an find a parking space ::::: never mind the fact that I needed a handicapped space I even watched a woman back into a car while trying to park ( no joke )

*MOST* nurses I saw during my mandatory stay in the Psychiatric Ward (level 3) were cold and uncaring, myself and other patients were treated without respect or humanity. I didn't get help, I felt more lonely and isolated than ever, and my depression only got worse. A serious reducational system needs to be in place so staff can *LEARN* to treat people *PROPERLY* As I cried loudly "I don't want to die, I want to see my Sami" (That's my supportive ex- girlfriend, and I OD'ed on my Quetiapine and alcohol.) While being brought in, the worst behaving nurse that night simply didn't care, my phone was for some reason taken and no alternative was offered. I was left on a stretcher bed with an IV in one arm, the ECG on my chest and absolutely panic and confusion. No-one decides to ask me how I feel, or if I'm okay, when I asked for water I was given attitude and told I was not allowed more than a small cup at a time, I was parched and severely dehydrated, and while an IV of electrolytes and saline were pumping onto my system, I felt like I couldn't breathe I was so thirsty.. The psychiatric ward is a prison, not a safe haven. You will be dehumanized until you "play along" (don't cry obsessively, they PROBABLY won't check on you), don't count on the food being anything more than edible, and your mental illness is *mostly* irrelevant to them, every one is treated the same, regardless of special needs you might need (at least I was given my pills) The doctor who treats everyone is your only way of getting the medication you need, the release you will crave and any extra comforts you might be able to scrounge (extra pillows, underwear, clothing of any sort other than hospital gowns ect) I suffer from Borderline Personality Disorder, and I know myself well enough to see when I'm actually under threat, and when I perceive a threat that doesn't exist (most times, I'm not perfect ; / , and this was a cold, uncaring experience that made me feel a lack of trust in hospital environments. Canada is a beautiful country with a relatively proud modern history, and we have a decent health care system in place, but the mass of nurses with four years of education and no empathy end up being the caretakers of seriously ill people, it will lead to unecessary suffering for the patients, and easy money for the nurses. Oh! Did I mention the part where I waited with two other inmates-i mean patients, all the nurses were talking and laughing behind the glass covered office while we were suffering. That'll only be ingrained into my memory. I want to end this on a good note. The EMS I got were incredibly concerned, treated me with respect and genuinely seemed worried for me. Idk what your names are, but thank you so very much, you saved my life and I'll forever remember your professionalism and care. I will try and find out who you are so I can thank you personally. - to paramedics and police of Shediac. And thank you Dr. Tahir for your compassion and knowledge, you've medicated me and kept me alive, thank you.

I came in at around 8pm last night. At around 10:45 I finally got registered and told that the type of doctor I needed to see was only there during the day, so I was advised (by a very kind human being) to come back in the day time. Came back today at around 2 pm. A few other people and myself were asked to go in another waiting room with no heat. Someone brought in some heathers but I was still freezing and after 8pm they closed the lights and Left us there. During that time dozens of people in the main waiting room came in and left. I suppose all these people had been taken care of. NO ONE in the other waiting room where I was got called. I Left at midnight.

I have so many horror stories about this hospital that I just refuse to go there now. Today my 17 year old daughter went in at 3:30pm and put in the waiting room in severe pain. Finally 11:30pm rolls around and nothing still. She said people who came in way after her had been seen and left and there she and an elderly lady sat waiting. So I had my husband call and see what was going on. Tge receptionists answer was we have a lot of paperwork. So we went in and I made sure to let everyone in the waiting room know why they were sitting there. Video will be up on youtube. You would think after someone died in tgat waiting room that they would improve but nope. So you pay insane taxes and get healthcare but can't find a doctor in you area because none are taking new patients and you try to go to hospital and sit for 8+ hours. The healthcare system needs to be fixed and everyone at this hospital needs fired.

I got deep cut on my fingers. Was waiting in ER for 9 hours to finally be able to see the doctor. I was originally only intending to give 1 star without hesitations due to horrible receptionists and nurses keeping turning me away just telling me to wait or choose to go back home without being able to see the doctor. I understand the part of prioritizing patients depending on how much they are getting life-threatened by their medical status, but it doesn't justify of those who are treating other patients with smaller injuries or illness with no caring attitude. We are all in the hospital to be helped to get better. But doctor Brent has made my experience way better when I finally got to see him at 4AM. He was really attentive and reliable even though he came from doing intensive care for those who came through ambulance. I also felt bad with the fact that other staff had to let me wait to make him be able to focus on treating those patients in needs first before treating other patients. Still, it doesn't mean I could have digested all the cold comments that I was getting from staff in the front desk in ER, and the hospital or provincial government or even Canadian government that is in charge of improving this sort of medical facility must do something about this situation that some patients end up giving up seeing a doctor from not getting warm or caring support from other staff in the ER or anywhere else in the hospital. Again, I would like to give sincere thanks to doctor Brent who has been keeping working hard in such a late night as only one available doctor at the moment and attentive and understanding with the patients. I do hope all the best for you and wish lots of lovely things happening with you in the future!

These people who gave 4 or 5 stars, are you serious?? Every time we went there and were told it was normal, not only for me but also for myson and daughter. I have been there cause of high fever and coughing blood, been told it was normal, my son was sent by ambulance cause he had seizure at school, we were told it was normal..... Of course, we have been waited extremely long to get into a room, and extremely long to see a doctor, extremely long to wait for the doctor coming back....... The reason for one star is there is no zero. However, most of the nurses there are friendly and doctors are nice too. But i would rather them to be effective, efficient, helpful and rude than nice but slow and helpless.

They do not care about the patients my mother had cysts drained and they refused to let her use the bathroom for 2 hours. they refused to let her sit up even tho she can not lay on her back due to medical conditions. Theyve not allowed her a diabetic to eat, and anything shes asked for has been met with a rude and snarky attitude. This is the worst care ive ever seen anyone give my family and im from miramichi.

Worst hospital in the entire country! They are incompetent. Rude. Out to lunch. Literally! Every single doctor and nurse is gone for the last 3 hours except 1, who had sat at the desk staring at his computer for the last 3 hours. Hasn't managed to help even one patient. My poor husband is suffering and there's not a single person in the building qualified to help him. Absolutely pathetic! I'm outraged.

If it wasn't for the amazing staff at Moncton Hospital, I wouldn't be alive. They saved my life about 2 years ago! The staff in Cardiac ICU took the best care of me, along with my respirologists and the rehab team. If I was rich I would donate millions to this facility.

My wife went in the hospital one night, the doctor never came back to tell us about the results of alk the tests that she had done, so we left not know if she was all ok or what to do, or with we need meds. And ass for the nurse and doctors making fun or paitents that seemed to have a mental problem, not cool. The nurses and doctors were talking so loud about making fun about other paitents i got names and reasons why they were in the hospital for. I wil be making a complaint at the hospital with the doctors and nurses names that were bullying the same people that they are sworn to help. Can you imagen how much damage that could have been to a person with a mental illnesses hearing that the doctors and nurses making fun of them. I hope all of those people are fired!!

I was reviewed by the mental health unit and after she left she said the doctor will be right with you. 45 Min later i look out of my exam room and the mental health nurse and the doctor are sitting there with 3 other nurses laughing and talking. Excuse me?? I'm here to get the help i need and leave. After i saw them i left i was done with it. I’ve also went 18 total times in the span of a year to still not be seen by this so little hospital. Horizon health has no priority for mental illness especially when ur at the top of the triage and still 36 hours later you don’t get seen by a psych????????‍♂️ Just don’t go here there rude and don’t call u when u leave either

I have had a few experiences at this hospital and I cannot complain .My labour and delivery nurse was absolutely amazing. She made me feel safe, comfortable and heard. She managed to make a painful and exhausting process and enjoyable one and for that I can never thank her enough.(unfortunately i cannot remember her name). The 2 nurses I had after delivering were amazing as well. They were so helpful and patient with me and made my first 2 days as a mother run smoothly. I couldn’t wait to go home and enjoy my baby in a familiar setting but once I was home I missed the nurses and wished I would have chosen to stay longer lol. The whole ER staff is also exceptional and I have been there a few times in the past few years. All this to say I would return to this hospital in a heartbeat if I hadn't moved away. Thank you to all the staff who put their hearts into their work ,your efforts do not go unnoticed.

After being told by medical clinic to get to a hospital for fear of kidney stones I got interrogated and asked if I had even bothered calling my doctor or tried to take advil so the pain would go away. "Are you sure that's what it is? I don't think it's that serious" then to wait 4 hours and ask for Tylenol because of the pain I asked if we were close to seeing a doctor with the remark "you can leave if you want" while looking at my chart and rolling their eyes. It has now been 6 hours and multiple people who were here after me have been called in with less severe issues than me.

Slow af wait times, expect to sit here for 7-9 hours. I would highly suggest against going to emerge after 7pm as you could be here all night with only one doctor on duty. My gf went here with a jaw problem and the nurse told her she shoulda went to clinic first, except clinics don't have the hardware to do x-rays. It's a good thing I was born a patient person, cause this place is a nitemare sometimes...

I spent a week there recovering from surgery and this place was so dirty and noisy. There were dirty urinal catchers that had old urine still in them from the day before, random things on the floors like gloves, used bandages and even used Jonny shirt under a bed of another patient I was in the room with that stayed there for three days. The alarms bells were mounted outside of my room so when ever a patient needed help I would hear this alarm and it would sound sometimes for 6-10 mins (any time of day or night). I did not get a lot of sleep at all because of the noise and light pollution. I was so exhausted by the time I got out from the poor upkeep of this place I thought I was going to loose my mind. I don't recommend this Hospital at all. It's a very bad place to try and recover in.

Went in at 6pm with pain in my lower region, could barely walk. At 8am the next morning I was finally called. All the night being told "oh you should be called up soon" and yet the intercom called nobody from midnight until 7:30. The staff are friendly and all, but dang if they ever leave you hanging with soons and probablys and shouldn't be much longers. A 14 hour wait with 3 or 4 "it should be soon" conversations is a little ridiculous

Was brought by ambulance around 2340hrs after an accident at work that injured my ribs & hip. Have been waiting since 2350hrs, it is now 0417hrs and I haven’t even been spoken to by a doctor or a nurse. I’d have been better off quad dosing some Advil and rolling the dice on liver failure. The nurses that I had spoken to upon arrival & that set me up in my room were pleasant and lovely. Just can’t believe the wait times. It’s ridiculous.

I visited the moncton hospital in January and also In May for endcarditous. Which ment I would have to stay for 6 wonderful weeks in the hospital. Which let me tell you is what can feel like a life time. But the wonderful nursing staff there on the 6th floor were very professional and they all treated me like a person. It turns out I was to make it I lived and so I get to thank the people that took such good care of me so thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Have now gone for two follow-ups and therapy. Have no complaints about speed or quality of service. Everyone was pleasant and professional. However, many areas of the building are in serious need of renovation in halls, floors, walls, etc.

Had gone in after injuring my leg badly to the point of being unable to walk. Had to wait 5 hours in the waiting room and an additional 1 and a half hours in the office before the doctor came to see me. The triage nurse in the waiting room was incredibly unprofessional as he was making poor attempts of humor at the patients expense, and at one point when a patient said something (couldn't hear it) the nurse slapped the papers in his hands hard onto the patients head, which was loud enough for everyone in the waiting room to hear, which was followed by telling him to be quiet as he was "sounding like his wife". The only reason this deserves a single star is that once we (finally) saw the doctor, everything went forward smoothly.

I cut myself and needed stitches. Sat around for five hours before deciding to walk out. During my wait, three people were called in. I'm old enough not to worry about scars. My immediate concern was tetanus. I went to a pharmacy, purchased a pack of butterfly closure and did it myself. Not pretty but did the trick.

On March 10th, 2016, I was brought to the Moncton Hospital ER by Ambulance, where upon 2 Doctors worked on me for a couple of hours with what they diagnosed as Staphylococcus Pneumonia which had entered my blood stream. Thanks to their quick diagnoses & aggressive treatment I have recovered from this after 4 days in ICU & 7 days on 3600. Unfortunately I don't remember the Doctors names, but I do remember after being up all night, the doctor that overseen my care in ICU came to see me before going home that morning..... I would like to thank the whole team from ICU who were amazing with me!! God Bless you all! Also wish to thank the team of nurses on 3600, especially Monique Arseneault who went above & beyond for me! I was given great care & respect from all!

Last visit to this location was for the birth of my child , the nurses had tried to force me to be seated while my fiancée is calling my name to hold her hand during contractions , I had stated that I felt very disrespected about not being able to be there while she was in need , DO NOT voice your opinion of disrespect at all at this establishment or the " security and supervisor will be called and notified" .. also I maintained a calm composure during the explanation of feeling disrespected

I have heard horrible tales about Moncton hospital. However I decided to take a chance as my 7yrs old has been having ankle pain for 2yrs and sometimes it can be really bad that he's not able to walk. We spent 15hrs without seeing a doctor today. The nurses are the most insensitive I've met. Their language is "we don't treat based on first come first serve, it's based on the case if you can't wait you are free to go". Meaning people shuold go home and die???? I understand some cases are more critical. But common, a 7yr old in and out of pain for the past 2years, what more do you need?? Will they prefere he's crippled before they consider his situation critical? How can somebody spend 15hrs waiting to see a doctor in this age and time and still unable to? Newbrunswick needs to act fast, it's really sad, i was really upset my boy was very disappointed

when i got there i wasn’t expecting to be take right away, but i was still able to be out of the hospital within 5 hours or so (even though they were short staffed)! everyone was friendly and my physician (i forget her name) was very kind and made me feel comfortable right away! even with covid, everything went by fairly quickly :)

Went to the emergency with our 4 month old preemie for vomiting blood. Was told this is completely normal. Dr ran a simple blood test and sent us home. While our daughter was crying in agony he walked out of the exam room. Never even washed his hands before touching her. Thanks for the germs that's awesome for a preemie and the no help while we get to to take home a screaming baby and let her continue to vomit blood.

In April we broke my forearm in two places in two places, I was rushed to the trama unit in an ambulance the ladies that were the the ambulance were very kind and sweet. Once we get at the hospital I had to wait 1 hour with my arm out of place waiting for the x days to be taken. And then I had to wait another 1 hour and 30 mins for pain meds but they gave me something they didn’t know I was allergic to so I had a bad reaction but I just pushed through the pain while I had a reaction and doctors putting my arm back in place. And then once I got my temporary cast on I was in another room waiting for my results to see if I needed and emergency surgery, but then I didn’t so they gave me more meds for them to put a new cast on to keep on for 5 weeks but overall the one thing I liked at the Moncton hospital is I got a good nice doctor and I’m glad I didn’t get one of the mean female doctors like I did in the past.

I am reviewing the youth mental health unit CAPU or should be called the youth dromatiseing unit as I was there in March 2018 witch was sopost 30 days but thankfully only a week and dramatisd and sueacidle to about July there sopost to help mental illness and instead just made it worse because you have to be in a bedroom for 1 hole hour called quiet hour and if you don't listen the workers will put in a suclshin room and may even strap you to a bed as well bedrooms are all different sizes witch can make one kid jeluis of the others room because there's usually 4 to 6 kids it is just a bad bad place

I was discharged from hospital yesterday after a total knee replacement surgery by Dr. Will Alanach. The entire experience was one of complete satisfaction with the actual surgery and the care provided by the nurses day and night. I had a student nurse who was fantastic with her care and attention. I was in hospital for 3 days and was given an exercise program to ensure I recover quickly, this also helped with pain.

A lot of gripes in the postings. TMH Emerg is like every other hospital in NB. The triage nurse assesses every case. Life threatening takes precedent minor cuts at bottom of categories. That is common sense. Staff normally always courteous. Thanks to them all Always had good service sometimes it takes longer than others but higher priority rules.

I've been here for 8 hours in emergency waiting for someone to look at my knee but the tims parade and chatters are too busy. the rooms been full for almost all of the 8 hours and there seems to be no sort of organization . Maybe free healthcare isn't the answer, because you get what you pay for which is nothing

This would be a good hospital if they just had more doctors, nurses, caretakers, receptionists and people in general. The staff that do work here do a good job for how understaffed they are and work hard. But for a hospital that deals with life and death, they shouldn't be cheaping out on workers.

absolutely horrible place. gone for the same test twice now over the course of 3 years, and they've made excuses everytime as to why I cant have my results. it's a simple pap test. I should be able to get these results. I'm scheduled for a third exam (the literal exact same exam again) next week and now they cant even find my appointment OR my Medicare number in the system even though I confirmed all of this with them days ago. the second time, they used me as a guinea pig without asking. they had a male student doctor viewing my pap test without my consent or even asking first. never got those results either. I will die of cervical cancer before I receive a single pap test result from this hospital. I traveled for 5 years, and this was the worst hospital on earth I've ever been "treated" by.

This hospital is an absolute embarassment. I am currently here in emergency with a child going on hour 9 and still have not been seen. The child is sleeping on the concrete floor with her jacket as padding because they say they do not have a bed for her. There was only one nurse out of the 50 who walked by that brought this little girl a blanket and pillow . I have never experienced this at any other hospital in Canada. This is no better then a third world country. It's actually shocking that this is happening in Canada. DO BETTER MONCTON CITY HOSPITAL!!

My son and I waited in the emergency room for 8 hrs for a knee injury. It seems there was only one doctor there . The waiting room was so full they had to bring out extra chairs. The only people to get in were those that complained repeatedly. I'm also surprised at how much support staff there are. I'm not sure what most are doing other than drinking tims. I know there are good caring people here, but I can't believe what my extremely high taxes are used for. On the other hand I've always had good results at the Georges Dumont. Emergency can't see him clinics won't (due to the nature) and family doctors are over worked.

Why is the hell do you waste people's times having this place open. Been here with chest pain and short breath for 5 hrs and not one of the other 7 ppl waiting here since before me have even recieved care yet. I will yet again go to another city to recieve care. Also you should tell 811 and ambulance service to stop ring ppl here cause it's a waste of time. Thanks for wasting my time I'll take my chances and wait 2 weeks for my GP if I dont pass out again in between. Your almost getting as bad as Halifax. Also if the wait is so long you should try investing in better chairs.. so.e ppl have been here 8 hrs so unacceptable, you should be ashamed.

Speedy ER if you actually need to go to the ER. I got to the ER with a partially amputated finger at around 3pm. The ER waiting room was full. After giving my information I was immediately brought in to see a nurse. Within minutes they froze my finger to numb the pain. The doctor was already helping somebody else, so I waited 15 to 20 minutes before she came and did my stitches. After that I went and got an xray in no time at all, then I was able to leave. I was in and out of the hospital in less than 2 hours. Fun fact, if you've been in the ER waiting room for 9 hours, you probably don't have to be in the ER. Go to a damn after hours clinic.

My dad had his back operated on here and he was really impressed with how the doctors and nurses cared for him. He no longer has the crippling pain he had before and the surgery didn't paralyze him. His life is transformed and he is a much happier person to be around. We started a charity a couple years ago and decided to donate the funds raised to the hospital every year. $10,000 total so far.

There are many underappreciated medical staff here, working in a challenging environment. They face situations we'll never see, but we're happy to complain if there isn't an instant response to less than urgent need. I've not seen anyone with an urgent problem waiting for someone's boo-boo. You may not like the triage system, but it does what any system should do. Move the sickest ahead. If you've ever been admitted, or had a loved one admitted, you'll see a fantastic team, overall. Our hospitals face many challenges, but your real beef is with government, not your hospital. Many thanks to the entire team that keeps our hospital working.

If you have mental illness and you plan to visit the ER don't bother. I've been to the emergency room 3 times and each time I witnessed the nursing staff over dramatize communications between patients and the worst part is, THEY CONTINUE TO TALK ABOUT THEM while we are all in the waiting room. Absolutely unprofessional and disgusting. what a sick world we live in .

Tom Tate-Williams. I was recently in the hospital for surgery. Dr. Ojah did a biopsy in my chest. The whole experience was great, from going in to leaving. The preparation was informative, the surgery and aftercare were excellent. I was in ward 5 where the nurses were very attentive and professional. I have had four surgical procedures at the hospital and have had great experience each time. Thank you
