IVY POFF

Went to buy dog food for my dog. Was told by a lady at the front desk you have to have a prescription to buy dog food there. This lady lacks knowledge of customer service and the fact that you don't have to have a prescription for dog food. Will not recommend this vet clinic because of her lack of knowledge and ignorance to customer service.

I cannot say enough great things about Barb and her team at Crossroads. We moved out of the country a few months back and needed an export permit for our dog. Barb went above and beyond to ensure the whole process was as smooth as possible and we cannot thank them enough for all of their hard work! Each time we go into Crossroads everyone is so friendly and really makes an effort to make sure our pup is at ease. If you are looking for a great vet for your animals, look no further!

My dogs actually get really excited when we turn into the Crossroads parking lot. I can't recommend them enough.

Dr. Ramos went above and beyond for my geriatric dog and me during his last moments. Her compassion for animals and their owners touched my heart and positively impacted my and my family's grieving process. All staff we interacted with leading up to and during his last appointment showed us kindness, patience and understanding. We were offered ample opportunity to ask questions and express concerns. When the answer to one of my questions was unknown, they found out and followed up with the answers for me. When I didn't trust myself to be able to speak without completely breaking down, they accepted written information from me instead of verbal. This has been one of the hardest days of my life, but Dr. Ramos and everyone else at Crossroads definitely helped to make it smoother for my pet, me and my family. Thank you! ????

We recently had to suffer the loss of our 2 German Shepherds and cannot thank the vets and staff enough at Crossroads for their kindness and compassion. Particularly Alma when we lost Odin and Layne when we lost Bella - Layne especially took the time to understand our dog's temperament and personality so that not only was he able to accommodate ourselves but also best serve our pet's need as well.

The staff are very friendly here....they make sure to quote you prices before you decide on a procedure, explain their recommendations thoroughly and can get you in on short notice if you’re worried about your pet. I assume they have very advanced equipment and are able to do more tests and procedures here than most. The office is very clean. Their prices are higher than average I would say, but I’m willing to pay the higher prices for the reassurance I feel bringing my pets here!

Best vets in town! I have Boston Terriers and this week has been a tough one! Both at the vet two days apart, one with ulcers on both eyes, the Dr was gentle with him, Benson was in so much pain, it made it so much easier on both of us. Then Winston was in for what we suspect is luxating putella, poor little peanut, Dr Manson explained everything so well to me and what to look for in the future. Definitely recommend Crossroads!

I was happy with the first 2 visits with Dr Gupta but the last visit not so happy about because my dog was scheduled for an appointment with a different scared vet and I did tell reception that he might not be very friendly and that we could muzzle him was told not to worry that they would muzzle him when we arrived, the vet was concerned that my dog would injury the personnel. took time off work to be turned away and when I called back to make another appointment a certain receptionist//assistant was very rude. I'm going to another vet that's not scared of dogs.

Puddings Mom

Our furry child, Pudding, a 13 year old Bichon Cross got her Angel Wings on Friday. Dr. Gupta came highly recommended from our vet in Calgary and we were so blessed to have he and his colleagues work with us here in Medicine Hat. Pudding was already at a geriatric age and stage when we met Dr. Gupta but I can honestly say that he, and every staff member that we encountered truly made us feel that Pudding was getting the best possible, thoughtful care. Dr. Gupta enriched the quality of Pudding's, and ultimately our, lives these last number of months. When the time came to do the right thing by Pudding because we didn't want her to suffer, unfortunately Dr. Gupta was out of town. Dr. Manson stepped in and he was professional, kind, compassionate and gentle with Pudding, my husband, and sobbing me. Pudding's decline and her passing will hurt our hearts for a very long time however having this wonderful group of professionals stand strong beside us when we needed them the most was truly a gift. Your kindness will never be forgotten. In gratitude.

Took our Yorkie to see Dr Gupta because she was having seizures. He examined her and the suggested blood work. He did give us a couple of ideas about what he thought it was but wanted to wait for the blood results. Dr Gupta followed up on the Tuesday with the results and suggested it could be a liver shunt or diet. We talked and realized it could be store bought treats we had been feeding her. We stopped the treats and she has had no more seizures. I was glad Dr Gupta did not try to upsell us on unneeded tests and showed enough concern to personally call with the follow up.

I called Crossroads to have my NEW adoptive dog looked at. She is in pain and in need of emergency services today which is a Saturday. I had a dog prior to this dog that I had always taken in to City Vet and as soon as the receptionist heard me speak of another clinic in town she told me that they WOULD NOT see her. I explained to her that this dog has never been to a clinic here and she explained that they do not take on new emergency clients who have "other vets"... To reiterate this dog of mine is NEW to the city and has never seen a vet here in Medicine Hat. My late dog was the client at City Vet. Shame on your clinic for turning down an animal who is new to the city and in need of help. This feels completely in humane to me and I am shocked to be turned down by a medical professional for such reason.

Two weeks ago,We had to make a after hours call, our little dude was having some serious problems. We had a tuff decision to make. He was a older pup, we didn’t really know his actual age because we adopted him into are family,when his first mom couldn’t keep him anymore. He had some medical issues but was full of life and fun, so it wasn’t a easy decision . But once we were there the Doctor was so great and treated me and my wife so great , at the time we probably weren’t in the best frame of mind, and the attention he gave to are little dude was amazing!!! After we left he couldn’t figure out why this little guy was having so much trouble, he had to find out what was causing, are little guy such serious problems. He gave him a postmortem exam , and then phoned us to let us know that it was probably the best decision for BUDDY!! And then to top things off Crossroads animal hospital sent a sympathy card. Great people !! RIP BUDDY see you on the Rainbow Bridge.

First off I want to say the reason for this rating is one vet in particular at this clinic. I called to get my dog in as he was having medical distress and was told to bring him right in...for the next two days and a thousand or so dollars later I was basically told I had 2 completely hopeless options for my dog with not a shred of kindness, empathy or hope from her. She told me I had to drive my dog to calgary as she was going to refer me to the hospital there to get him a emergency ultrasound and she would make sure they knew I was leaving right away and would be there that afternoon. After 3 hours drive with my very exhausted and sore dog we finally arrive there only to find out she not only didn't tell them I was coming...the referral info also wasn't sent. On top of that, the vet did not tell me I would be spending a minimum of $4000-$5000 dollars for this clinic to just look at my dog.She told me an ultrasound is around $600 so that is the cost I was expecting. Basically she wasted my time with a 6 hour drive on top of not properly communicating anything to do with my dogs situation or treatment options. Thankfully, i got to speak with the on call vet, Dr.Manson about the situation and within minutes he made me feel better. He talked over my options and listened to everything I had to say without rushing me or recommending things he knew I wasn't able to do for my dog. With his guidance I was able to make the decision to bring my dog back home and meet him at the clinic, that night so he could look into the things we discussed over several phone calls that evening. It turns out one of the very simple things I had told the previous Dr. about she didn't even look into and Dr. Manson checked, sure enough, that seemed to be the culprit. I am very disappointed in this Dr., not only did she take advantage of my love for my dog but she also didn't listen to anything I told or asked her. Ive given time for her to personally contact me with an apology for wasting a trip to Calgary when she didn't follow through on anything she told me she would. But that call or apology hasn't come. Dr.Manson is an amazing vet and has apologized for her mistakes, but that shouldn't be his responsibility. It still doesn't excuse her total lack of professionalism and respect for not only the pet she was treating but his owner as well. It is human to make errors but the least she should have done is contact me and own up to her mistakes. Shame on her and I hope no one else has to go through what she put us through.

Nearly 2 years ago, we had to do the hardest thing we have ever done & make the decision to have our beautiful shihtzu dog Billy put to sleep. Billy was only 6 years old. We as a family cannot thank Dr Gupta enough for everything he did to help Billy in his last week, & his compassion & professionalism on his final day was first class, at the worst moment in my life I couldn't have asked for a more caring & genuine person. A couple of months ago we felt ready to give our hearts to another dog, so we took the plunge & welcomed our new shihtzu puppy Bruno into our lives. I knew instantly who would be entrusted to carry out his medical needs & that’s Crossroads. After what happened with our first dog I am super paranoid, but the staff completely understand that & do everything to make me feel more at ease & Dr Gupta as always is so kind, professional & understanding. Bruno was neutered today & the staff have gone above & beyond this week to make sure I wasn’t a nervous wreck & Bruno was well cared for. I would recommend this veterinary practice to anyone, pets aren’t just pets they are family & I trust these guys whole heartedly. Medicine Hat you are super lucky to have such a warm, welcoming, clean & professional veterinary hospital within your community. Thank you again for everything, it means more than you all know

I recently had to put my little fur baby down after he was having liver complications. I took him in to Crossroads 6 weeks prior to his passing. The vet was very straight forward with his diagnoses while still being super compassionate about the circumstances. Although my little guy was older, we weren't expecting that he would only have a month or two to live. When the time came, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Everyone there shared the same professionalism and compassion. It was the hardest thing I've ever had to do, but I felt more at ease having chose Crossroads Animal Hospital.

There are only three vets open on a Saturday in the city.. I was very disappointed to not have a chance to get my cat in!
