DESCRIPTION

You will be able to see the opinions of real people who consumed the services and products of Seven Oaks General Hospital (Hospital) in the area close to Manitoba (Canada).

As of day this business has a rating of 2.3 stars over 5 and the score has been based on 127 reviews.

You must have seen that the average score it has is really insufficient, and it is founded on a very high number of feddbacks, so we may conclude that the valuation is very credible. If there are many people who bothered to give their score when they've done well, it works.

As you know, we do not usually bother to place evaluations when they are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...

This Hospital is classified in the category of General hospital.

I was treated with respect, and was in and being seen by a doctor withing half an hour. Everyone was kind, and I was checked on and had tests right away. They made sure I had a way to get home. Place is clean and covid compliant. Thanks much!

6 hr wait!!!!

Came in by ambulance and ended Up in the hallway for over an hour and then asked to waiting in waiting room for the next 6 hours and the barely any tests done before being sent home. My own family doctor did better than a hospital combined. They shrug off your pain as if it’s nothing. I don’t know about the upper floors but triage and emergency staff need an overall personality makeover

Evan Welch

I noticed improvement in wait times and staff are a lot more compassionate and caring over the years. I do appreciate the services given due to my health conditions.

family challenge

I wonder why it gets 2 star I was there for 7 hrs not busy saying we are busy but God is with you guys one day you we have karma

My grandma recently broke her hip and has spent the last three weeks at Seven Oaks Hospital. When you have a family member in the hospital, you really have an opportunity to witness and experience how broken and struggling our health care system is. The nurses and health care aides have been friendly, cheerful, professional and positive for the most part. However, there are simply not enough staff for the amount of patients which makes it difficult for them to be attentive to patients’ needs. There is only one nurse per 20-some patients. My grandma had been throwing up her lunch every day for a week and the nursing staff had no idea this was even happening. One of my family members said they found dried throw up on my grandma’s blanket. The nursing staff don’t seem to check in on patients often enough. There could be improvements in the nursing staff keeping family members informed about what’s happening with the patient. They have been giving my grandma strong painkillers every morning (probably the reason for her nausea and inability to eat anything) but one staff told us that she was only getting regular strength Tylenol. Poor communication. I feel like patient care and communication between staff members and information that is relayed to family is definitely lacking. Another thing is that the doctor is never available for family members to ask questions. They are quite elusive and are never seen or heard from. The food they have served my grandma has been, for the most part, repetitive, bland, unhealthy and unappetizing. My grandma is gluten free and every lunch has been the same - cold and hard gluten free bread (not even toasted) with a slab of meat on it (no lettuce, tomato, mayo... nothing to add some flavour), a bowl of soup and a packaged custard-like “dessert” (mostly all sugar and milk). None of the food is salted and they don’t offer any salt packets. I don’t blame my grandma for not eating any of it. I wouldn’t either! I haven’t seen one piece of fruit served for any meal and very few vegetables. The dinners have appeared less than appetizing as well and typically consist of the same thing. I have trouble understanding how a dietitian has created these meal plans that lack any real nutrition for patients who need healing foods to recover from their illnesses and gain strength. In order to change a patient’s meal plan, you have to make an appointment with a dietitian. Like the doctors, they are also elusive and would likely not be available during the evenings when family comes to visit. Lastly, the hospital is visibly dated and is in desperate need of some repairs and new paint. The first floor and entrance has a modern and open appearance but the upper floors got shafted on the updates. I give Seven Oaks three stars for the friendly staff who are trying their best with the resources that they have. Unfortunately, the cuts to healthcare by our current government can definitely be observed when you experience first hand how our healthcare system works.

Turn away when I had high blood pressure! Treatment that day was awful

Just talked to Imaging clerk about an ultrasound appointment. I found the person extremely rude. I don't like her attitude especially since I am contributing towards her wages. If she hates her job, she shouldn't be dealing with public.

Kitty

Docs do not help at all. Very rude. Yelled at. Go somewhere else.

Last 3 times we went there for ER and we experienced terrible care. Waste of time and a drive. They sent us a survey and I honestly just threw it away. If they dont know they suck, thats a total joke. No wonder its called Seven Jokes. Staff is not compassionate and you can see doctors standing around chatting for hours before they tend to your emergency. Literally just standing around on their phones talking utter b.s. anywhere else is a better option than this place. Grade F

WOW!!! How bad the health sector in Manitoba is. Especially in 7 oaks hospital. Came there by ambulance with a bleading eyebrow. Sat in the waiting for 3 hours and it didn't end when got called to the second waiting where spent more than 2 hours surly. After that a "doctor" came with an intern who was instructed what to do with me. I could've done a better job probably.

Carole Leah

I was in the hospital today to have some tests done. Kudos go out to all the staff a Diagnostic Services!! They were friendly, and prompt. I had a chest x-ray, an ECG done, and blood tests completed, and I was in and out within 30 minutes! Great care!

benjamin vermeylen

Seven Jokes Hospital. Waited in a room for 7 hours for a doctor to come see me. After 3 hours went to go look at the waiting room. Empty. Walked by all the little curtained booths in the area. I counted 3 other people. 2 were sleeping. Waited an additional 4 hours anyway. This is what happens when government runs your health care system. If the money was going directly from our pockets to the doctors’ pockets they would fall over each other to get your business.

Jennifer Sigfusson

Great example of how an Urgent Care Clinic should be. Urgent Care at The Seven Oaks was awesome! Within the first 45 minutes of being there I had seen a doctor, got blood tests and X-ray done and medication. Nurses came to check your vital signs on a regular basis. Was there a total of 3 hours, plus I saw a different Doctor before I was released! Staff was friendly and cheerful and cared for your wellbeing! Hopefully, I never have to go there again but they will be 1st on my list if I do.

Really this hospital doesn’t deserve any star. I went there as i was suffered from UTI. I waited over there for 2 hours and they took me inside and when the doctor came to see me can u imagine how he treats me. He came and remained stand by the door. Just tell his name and didn’t even ask how long been I suffered from this problem what is current status of problem, nothing. He just gave prescriptions and was about to go, at that time I said excuse me doctor, how many days it will take to cure? He said just only two words, that is 3:days and left. This is like that they are playing doctor- doctor game. Isn’t it. I still remembered that doctor’s name. Not happy.

Never been here until my step grandmother was sent here. Went into the urgent care entrance trying to figure out where she is. Luis at urgent care tells me and my disabled father to just walk around to the other entrance. I pushed my dad in a wheelchair for 1km, half of which was at a steep incline/decline through the parking lots. He should have told me to drive around, he knew how far it was and knew I was pushing my dad. Wouldn’t go here if my life depended on it.

iamseunmiller onosJP

Good job they do here.

grace G

Extremely unpleasant stay, staff seems to be more focused on socializing with each other than with patients. During my brief 2 day visit I was met with some fairly rude nurses and doctors. However I was more concerned about how they treat the elderly, this poor man who clearly has some form of dementia has been practically ignored while he screams and cries for help, at night they simply just closed the door to his room. The nurses here require more training for patients who have dementia, that treatment is appalling.

James Sab

Great service, thank you.

Worst place ever. I am here because I am having really bad back and bladder pain I can't go to the bathroom and its been 3 days now. So I came to seven oaks and I got here around 1020pm Nov 26th and it is now 308am Saturday and I have still not seen a doctor. I think if I am still waiting I am just going to go home and wait to talk to my kidney doctor and see what they tell me

Nala

Everyone who works there are rude and they seem to hate their job. If they don't like dealing with people who need medical attention why are they working in the hospital?!. Most of all the unhealthy looking fat ass front desk females are the worst. Helpful?

Long waits at all hospitals because Pallister is disassembling our health care as we know it.

My wife came to hospital with strong bleeding near 6pm. Already waiting more than 4 hours . There is no answer to the question of what the doctor will not examine. Complete unprofessionalism and contempt for the patient

I would give this hospital a negative zero if I could My mother broke her arm the other day and was taken to Selkirk for a cast but it harderned wrong so it was too painful to sleep so I take her to seven oaks, which I regret because as soon as we were called to the desk they asked what her medications were and the last time they were taken, standard procedure seemingly. We were finally called to a room and when the doctor came in he made no contact and then accused my mother of coming in to ask for narcotics when we simply just came for a new cast, not medication. We tried explaining to the doctor she only needed a new cast but he just told us to stop talking so he could continue accusing my mother. After the doctor left the nurse came in and was just as rude. She did very little to help. Overall this is a horrid experience and would not reccomend... EVER!!!

Meriena Kirsopp

My best friend got in a car accident. Got taken here in an ambulance. Is in a neck brace and horrible pain. They gave her an Advil and made her wait FOUR HOURS to even get out of the waiting room. This hospital is a joke.

Still systematic racism being faced by indigenous patients seeking care. My brother went to receive care for a bursting appendix, in incredible pain. Had to wait 6 hours to see a doctor with no pain management support, despite exclaiming he was in the worst pain of his life. Then he had to wait another 2 hours after seeing the doctor and had to scream to receive any pain meds. Was accused by the night nurse that he was timing his meds and abusing it.... Completely unacceptable and unwarranted. The night nurse on Feb - 3 Feb 4 on the Urgent Care MTA area needs to be reprimanded as her racist stereotypes are completely unacceptable. She had the nerve to tell him in the peak of his pain that "The pain won't kill you but the meds will". Is this the level of care indigenous people can expect here? I would have hoped after Joyce Echaquan that Canadian health care staff would work on providing adequate care to indigenous patients, I guess not at Seven Oaks. If you're indigenous, don't seek care here.

PATRICIA MCCLEMENTS

Only reason one star is given is because the ER is decent except the manager who "allowed" my elderly Mum 5 minutes to decide to ship him off to Concordia by Ambulance which had no history of my dad's condition and was too far away. She cannot drive nor can take a bus and this hospital is closest to her home. The manager got snippy and told her how much time the doctors wasted on him. Lol like quel dommage isn't that their job to actually care for their patient and not an obligation?? Unfortunately my dad had his medical history here so we decided that he would once again stay. Doctors are never there to discuss family member's concerns. Rude, unapproachable "professionals" who run this hospital. Patient "consultant" primary bias is with the hospital, ignoring errors with a move forward crapola attitude. Moreover, had the audacity to tell my Mum to refrain from being rude when they're the rude ones. Feel bad for the nursing staff who has to get asked questions from all patient's family members because the doctors are never around at all. If you have elderly relatives please send them elsewhere!!!

Rana Dhillon

Unfortunately we lives near this hospital, that is not a hospital, If you need an immediate response you must call ambulance for an emergency care.. Other wise Seven Oak Hospital simply a waste of time.. So I'm looking for a zero to give to this Harasspital..

Greg Lyons

I found the staff efficient and frendly. The time I spent there was in the I.C.U. and they saved my life. The food is actually served hot.(take note HSC)

Went to emerg felling tired, turns out I had CHF and ended up in the hospital for 6 days. The staff right from the second I was admitted to when I left were amazing, helpful and always treated me well.

Pregnant girlfriend got into a car accident made her wait over 3 hours, don't ever come here!!!

Waited in the ER for 5.5 hours. Moved to a discharge room. Told to sit in there. It's been one hour still waiting The drs and nurses were laughing that there was only 12 patients left in the waiting room. They must have all left. The waiting time went from 4 hours to 5 plus hours after they told patients we wont be able to see you today. One lady had been waiting for 6.5 hours and told to go home. Dr just came in going to send me for a chest xray. Oh he did apologize for the wait time.

April Armstrong

I was there today July 10th 2021 at 4:43 P. M. And it said the wait time would be 4hours well by 9:30 P. M. I wasn't even taken into the back to see a doctor and as I was there and people were coming in after me they were taking like 4-5 people ahead of me that came in after me to the back to see the doctor yes by this point I did say something but they didn't even care I was so FRUSTRATED and couldn't wait any longer that I left after 9:30 P. M. If the wait time says 4 hours then it should be 4 hours and no longer NOW I KNOW WHY PEOPLE CALL IT SEVEN JOKES

Pam Schmidt

Was a day surgery patient at Seven Oaks Hospital. It was a great experience right from the time my husband and I stepped through the door and was looking at the information map and an elderly gentleman politely asked if he could help us find our way. He gave us directions to the day surgery clerk who was also very polite. We were then directed to a waiting room where we sat for no longer than 10 minutes before a nurse asked me to follow her to the day surgery area. After putting on my surgery gown I was asked to get comfy in a reclining chair with a heated blanket. The nurse who then looked after me was so wonderful! Full of energy, kind words and humour! During my wait for surgery my heated blanket was replaced two more times! The professionals in the surgery room were great! Dr Hubert was the surgeon and he explained the whole procedure as he performed his tasks and I watched on a monitor. The recovery room nurses were very nice and back at day surgery room after was again a great experience. Thank you all for making a possibly stressful day into a wonderful experience! Kind regards Pam Schmidt

If you like waiting for 14h just to leave untreated, this is the place for you. Crazy large lot of land being used as a cash grab apparently. Certainly not doing anything with the patients. Saw 30 people in the waiting room, sign saying average wait 4h. I'm in immense pain and they couldn't even be bothered to ask where or why. Great job converting to Urgent Care, Pallister. Waste of time, money, and ambulance resources. Yeah, brought in by ambulance, just to be ignored...

Years back, this hospital had the nickname of 7 JOKES, well earned then and equally well deserved now. I attended their urgent care 5-26 / 5/27, 9+ hours waiting to be seen. I had been placed in their "COVID" section of the waiting room due to the nature of my job. During the night, I witnessed several troubling things, none of which I'd ever expect to see in a hospital setting, much less from so-called "front line professionals", at any time, more so during COVID. A young woman came in, she complained of "acid reflux". She had been told twice by one staff member to wear a mask (and this was the only staff member of 3 who told her to wear a mask), ultimately this person NEVER wore the mask and here I am stuck in the same area of the waiting room with her. During the night, the hospital staff wanted a blood sample from this young woman, she refused them. Later on, when she asked for gravol (2 requests for that) and a glass of water, hospital staff (a male nurse on duty) refused her on the basis of her refusing them a blood sample. They would only give her water IF she gave them a blood sample - UNBELIEVABLE! Words like coercion and black mail come to mind. During the night a male staff member and then later in the morning a female staff member in the waiting room area came on duty and NEITHER of these people told this young woman to wear a mask. Even though both of these people saw her. The female staff member looked DIRECTLY at this girl when checking on people in the "COVID" section of the waiting room. At this point, I pretty much had enough and decided to leave. Before leaving, I went over to the nurse at the 2nd intake desk and told her of this situation. Her attitude STUNK! She could have cared less and did nothing about it. She only said that the security guards are supposed to enforce the mask wearing (which they never once did throughout the night) and then walked away. The waiting room has security cameras, so where was the enforcement? I called to complain about this experience to a Sharon Stafford, who is the patient relations officer. Her attitude was equally no better, hence my review here. I also filed a complaint with the Province's "COVID violation" reporting line. Think any of these people or the hospital will be fined for this? I am doubtful. After this experience, I am physically sickened when I think about this night. I was put more at risk of contracting COVID here, in a hospital setting, where I should have felt secure, safe and been far less at risk than anywhere else right now. Instead these so-called "professional front line workers" did the complete opposite. Their actions or lack thereof, put me in a compromising position and at risk of catching what is literally a deadly disease. Is it any wonder why we can't get a handle on and control over COVID?

I waited in Urgent care for 6+ hours, finally gave up. This shows how prepared they are for the 4th wave

Steven Frederick Baljkas

While the doctors in emergency left much to be desired (one informing me that they didn't owe my dying mother any treatment, a marvellous sentiment for a public hospital) and the bed shortage problem added to already significant stress, the ward nurses with the exception of 'Minerva' (you know who you are) were fantastic as were Luke and Grace who helped escort my mother's body to the morgue with gentility and reverence.

Brenda Shannon

i had a great doctor and the staff during my pre-op was terrific. My only bad experience was when i was in recovery. Several times i stopped breathing while i was asleep. One certain nurse accused me of deliberately holding my breath. I didn`t like her bedside manner and something like that sticks out in your mind and takes over the part of the experience that was good. She was being a bully. No other word for her behaviour.

This hospital has the worst patient care ever! I took my aunty to Urgent care but we had to leave after 4 hours of waiting to see a doctor. There were moody nurses who did not care much. There were two patients crying in pain and they were told to keep the noise down as there was nothing they could do for them. Urgent Care does not deserve even one star.

Best care anyone could ask for. After being admitted for the second time I am left with feeling grateful and full of appreciation. Bravo and many thanks to the Emergency, Shannon my coffee buddy and Lisa who took such great care of me.Also the 3rd floor Unit 11 nurses, Jennifer, John, Leno, and so many more. I know I was independent, but you made it easy. Spent another day in Urgent care for chest pains 26/10/2020. Bumped into my coffee nurse and was excited to see Shannon again. An angel of mercy and good cheer. Still love all that they do during this pandemic. God bless them all.

Worst hospital took my 10 year old in as he was having lots of pain in his leg and his toe was really red and very sore. We got in to see a Dr really fast and he looked at my son's leg and foot and all he said was keep doing what ur doing and keep poping him with pills and follow up with his dr and he said I don't need to do any test as it will be a waste. He never even said what was wrong with him or anything. Who says that to a 10 year old kid. Never going back ever again!

Enn Cee

My mother passed away here. Each time I needed paperwork signed by the doctor, it would take almost a month just to get it. Otherwise, while my mom was at the General Hospital, they treated her well. However, she had told me that they were very rough with her on the Emergency side. Even when she told them. They still continued to be rough with her.

Terrible. Discharged my elderly grandmother with no discharge papers or instructions. Theft is rampant! My grandmother had a week's worth of clothes, robe, and nightgown stolen! Not to mention a very small amount of petty cash and a rosary! Who steals a rosary! Money is one thing but to take a senior's clothes is downright criminal.

Doesn't sound like this place has changed in the years since I went there with a T.I.A. (mini stroke). I described my symptoms (stumbling, shadow in my vision ) and they had an eye doc see me...:( I didn't find out till I saw my reg doc that I had the stroke. :/

Went to Urgent Care for help with my (simple and complex) cluster seizures that I couldn't control on my own. They helped me by saying 'well you should see you gp or neurologist', and basically said no don't bother being admitted. This is why people die here during admission.

It’s hard to believe that with so many complaints regarding staff patient care at seven oaks (hospital ) Nothing has been done. If triage and nursing staff hate there job so much they should not have gotten into healthcare. Worst patient care from the moment you walk in, indifferent attitude and non compassionate workers. Please make a change!!!

Tony Fast

Have been treated both in ER and on the wards... both very satisfactory. Let people complain if they want... it is a public health care system. Or go to the states... get the treatment and pay the bill... then you'll really have something to complain about.

Timothy sullivan

If you value your life please don't go here. Miscommunication, confusion, lack of urgency, lack of compassion, poorly trained.......and on it goes. I have lost two family members in this hospital. The experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. There are a few nurses who are shining stars in this hospital but unfortunately there are too many who just don't give a damn about patients or relatives. Not calling family while a patient is in the final hours of life is unforgiveable. Giving a patient a drug to render them completely comatose until death without consulting family first is another unforgiveable. Then you have some old doctors who are worse than nurses making the rounds and putting in time till retirement. They evade patients families whenever possible and rarely show up on time for a meeting if at all. They misdiagnose conditions or prescribe wrong meds. If your family member is senior they basically just write them off. So many patients are overmedicated until they die but it makes for easy care by the nurses and doctors. People don't believe how bad this hospital is until they experience it first hand.

shawn oriley

This hospital should be shut down for not careing about patiences health at all. A friend went by ambulance 5 times to emergency with chest pains and they ended up sending him home every time. Today he was taken there again and like before these so called Doctors and nurses sent him home well as they left this man starts getting dizzy and sick so they that is his daughter has just taken him to StBonifice close enough all these staff should be forced to go threw training again for they care for no one.

Gerald

Don't ever go to Seven Jokes hospital. Nurses are so rude and they don't care until you die. Too long for waiting time atleast 6 hours!!! If you care about your life or your love one's avoid these hospital.

Update: Had a fantastic call with Shannon from patient services. She really listened and understood my concerns. Even talked how this experience can go forward to help understand invisible disabilities in people coming to Seven Oaks. Shannon bumped the one star up to 3 with her excellent service. Went to Urgent care. Made sure to go when there was a short wait time due to the fact I'm autistic. The whole time I was there only one person actually got in to see a Dr. The waiting room filled up and I started to get anxious. Went to the desk to see if I could sit somewhere else. Explained to the clerk why and got totally blown off. Clerk barely raised her head from texting on her phone. Unprofessional and disrespecting of a person with a disability.

Horrendous system, urgent care became idle care

I had an amazing experience here today. I came around 10:30-10:45am and the lady at the front desk was extremely helpful and kind. She helped me get X-rays and checked by a doctor very quickly! I didn’t quite catch her name but she made going to urgent care less stressful and super efficient. I was out of there treated within an hour. This lady deserves a raise she was absolutely fantastic, I wish I would’ve caught her name!

6 hours to see , not a doctor , but a nurse practitioner. Hyper extension on my knee and I could not walk on it or bend it at all . I should also mention it hurt more than anything I'd ever done ever before and at 60 I've been hurt more than a few times. So what did I receive from them , X-ray to confirm , no broken bones. An offer of 2 Asa and a set of crutches ( rented of course) No paperwork No referral to a doctor Nothing People have called this place " seven jokes" I Agree now !!

My mother had a stroke and the doctor did not administer the shot to bust the blood clot in her head. He said that it would damage her if it wasn't needed. She was already paralyzed on one side ,wouldnt that tell a good doctor that chances are she'd need that shot? Well it was needed she suffered a 2 nd stroke and passed away 2 days later. I believe it was because of her age, she was only 78. They don't want to save older people which is very sad as these people still have loved ones that need them. I'll bet that doctor would do anything to save his mother but cared very little for ours. I believe in karma, I hope he gets his.

My 30 yr old son went in for breathing/swallowing issues. He was struggling to breathe and swallow. Very out if the ordinary. No allergies, etc. as he was sitting waiting for a Dr.( after about 25-30 mins of laboured breathing) he was asked to pull his mask up. He was lifting it slightly with his thumb to catch his breath and swallow. Nurses instantly turned their backs….called security and he was forced to leave. Though they did take his blood pressure and said he had enough oxygen to breath. LOL!!! He couldn’t breath or swallow!!!!! A 30 year old man, living in Canada, pays his taxes, and terrified that he couldn’t breath. Seven Oak Hospital Nurses I hope you sleep well at night. Shame on you. How dare you claim to help????

Very dissapointing. I brought a friend in to get a stent put in. Before the procedure the medical staff advised the patient to NOT make any important decisions until after 24 hrs had passed because he would be under the influence of anisthetic. While still in recovery two hopital staff (one a nurse) approached his bedside and asked if he would take part in a medical study. The study was to support a multi-million ( or billion) dollar drug company. Why would hospital staff approach an individual, who was told to not make important decisions, if he would volunteer to take part in a medical study (for free) to benefit a multi-million dollar drug company. Is this a breach of patient trust and unethical medical practices?

Very worse experience. They don't listen anything and showing attitude. They r don't care of people doesn't matter patient have how much pain.

If I could leave a - 10 I would. We have taken my mother to this hole of a hospital 3 times this week due to needing a catheter, blocked colon and mental issues and each time they would not admit her. Wednesday had to take her crisis Centre wouldn't do anything for us. Last night called the ambulance at 1am and it showed up at 5am!!! Terrible revolving door that can't even recognize a crisis....and won't help a woman in desperate need of medical care They should all be very ashamed

Hope

Rude nurses at the front desk as well as very long wait times. 9 or more hours !! Go somewhere else if you need actual care.

Caleb Hudgens

They may or may not leave you alone in the waiting room after your appendix has burst, forcing you to go to another emergency room and eventually to pass away.

Lily WASYLIK (L)

The wait time is just absurd. This hospital used to have fast service. Going on hour 4 in the waiting room. .......

I'm so impressed with the care the staff offered my father of 99 years of age. I am sorry if others have said bad things but I've only experienced awesome care here and they're sure humane in there care of others in times of need.

Semira Mustapha

Came here with my mom and while the wait wasn’t that long, they literally said “there’s nothing we can do for you.” Came back a couple days later because now I was sick, and the nurses at the desk for the ER were very rude and cranky for some odd reason. The way they were talking and the tone of their voice and the looks they were giving were not polite at all.

1) Diagnosed the cause of my main issue. Treated me effectively for this main concern. 2) I & they, while dealing with the main issue, forgot to even look at my injured tongue. I 'm still afraid it's infected. ????

It's quite unfortunate to have to be in a place like a hospital. It is a place filled with fear and questions. A simple requirement to being employed in a place that deals with such intense fears should be COMPASSION!! Something I thought, until tonight was the reason people dedicate their lives to patient care. My view on human nature changed in the matter of minutes. A nurse on the fourth floor (I will be filing an official complaint against her) was the most unprofessional, lazy and unconcerned nurse in the profession. It was just numerous sighs and eye rolls anytime a question was asked. My precious grandmother has trouble communicating in English and this woman was clearly not of Canadian born parents so if anyone should understand the struggles of immigrants, it should have been her! She was not helpful at all and she was just a snotty, child-like nurse getting paid OUR tax dollars to make peoples lives even more difficult than it already is considering they already have loved ones in a hospital bed

Waited for 10 hrs and not seen.

A little personal, I was in a bad place, depressed out of my mind and I took a lot of pills to try and overdose. I was brought to the hospital by my friend and I was unconscious the whole time but she said we were waiting in the waiting area for over 6 hours and she kept going up to the desk to say I was overdocing and completly unconscious with shallow breathing every half hour to hour and they still never did anything. Finally in a room it took another 3 hours to see a doctor. If the pills I took were any stronger I would have died in the waiting room! Finally we couldn't leave until they gave me a self care package and told me about resources in the city. We had to wait another 3 hours for that! Pretty sure they just forgot about us. Horrible experience and will never go back no matter what!

Family member had a near death experience at this place. Neglect of care and rude staff. Called PPCO for an investigation, anyone who felt neglected at this place, please call PPCO. The management does not acknowledge concerns and do not even bother sending an email to them, they will say sorry but don't seem sincere about it. I hope your poor service will come to an end! If you experienced neglect that has caused harm to you or any family members, direct your concerns to PPCO PPCO PPCO PPCO PPCO!

Went in for a Sigmoidoscopy, had a very good experience, had very pleasant and thorough nurses and medical staff attend to me. Felt very taken care of and informed from start to finish. Thanks day surgery staff :)

Was in and out quickly with 4 stiches. Staff was courteous because I did not act like an a$$ to them.

I have been dealing with digestive issues for years...I am currently on a wait list to be seen by a specialist however was experiencing some invasive symptoms. I have 2 young children and this not only affects my home life but my ability to work.. I came in to this hospital concerned about a new , unfirmiliar symptom and was appalled at the care I recieved. While in the wait room I explained that I was having a burning discomfort in my stomach, not pain, discomfort . I told her this to inform the doctor to update my symptoms. She then told me that I was not allowed pain medication which although I hadn't requested any, she didn't bother explaining why I was unable to take anything and told me to sit back down. After being called in, I assumed they would want to examine the area I was experiencing trouble with but instead they relied souly on my blood work and didn't even examine me. He then told me I am starving myself and he thinks I have an eating disorder, although I've been trying to gain weight... regardless of how much I insisted I was in pain and something felt wrong all he said was "eat something" and told me he thought it was an eating disorder and it was psychological, and he doesn't believe I have a gut issue. He had no desire to answer any questions and seemed annoyed when I asked him any questions.. was completely disregarded and made to feel like a con artist ... I will never return to this place , what awful patient care. Avoid this hospital

Great staff who unfortunately have to deal with a lot of abuse from ignorant patients and relatives

The Food Court Area here is small but ckean and the staff very friendly. After my Bloidwork is done I enjoy having my Tom Hortons Breakfast.

Was very grateful for the care I received. They removed my diva cup for me when it got stuck, however they threw it away immediately without asking me if I wanted it back first. I don’t think they knew what it was or how it was used. I’m assuming they thought it was disposable, and when I asked for it back they had already thrown it in the garbage. I’m very thankful they helped me get it out but was not impressed with the knowledge that lacked for the diva cup (which is not cheap).

Tay Catcheway

Terrible, rude staff that didnt care how much pain I was in. Would not recommen coming here for anything.

Lucas Stratton

Abysmal. Avoid this hospital unless you have the patience of God Himself

My 87 year old mother, broke her leg in Feb. 2017. Before this happened she had a complicated health history. Her care for the broken leg was good, however we had concerns about her returning home. My mom also had physical complaints about other health issues. Seven Oaks took time to address everyone of our concerns and all of my mom's physical complaints. They let us talk to each of the specialists involved, and provided a treatment plan. This also included getting the right balance of medications and home care in place. The work Seven Oaks has done has changed our family's life. The difference in my mom is amazing, she is engaged and active. We are no longer running to doctor's appointments or spending time in emergency. Thank you Dr. Abbott and the Gerriatic Rehab Team. Laura Austin

I came to Urgent Care with a referral from my family doctor who is out of province, I explained the symptoms briefly to the intake nurse at the desk and was given a blood test quickly, after that was made to wait 10 hours. While the dim lighting was calming and there was plenty of seating, there was insufficient security for the number of people entering and inebriated or otherwise approaching other patients in the waiting room inappropriately. After my 10 hour wait, I was given about 2 minutes with a specialist nurse who was kind, and then only about 1 minute with a doctor who didn't take the time to go over my options for treatment or prescribe anything even though I had mentioned I was out of province. The doctor in question then mentioned he'd schedule a follow up but never did so, I had to confirm that myself by calling Urgent Care the following day. I was very disappointed. This is the same hospital where my mother was taken when she had a seizure from a brain tumor and a simultaneous shoulder dislocation. The first ER doctor to see her saw the tumor but not the shoulder, leaving her in agony for over 12 hours until a shift change when the 2nd doctor arrived and popped it back in. The wait times here are the lowest because the staff rush people out the door.

i was injured in a vehicle yesterday. i am dizzy today and cannot move my neck. i need to be assessed by a doctor for concussion. it is new years eve day today and the last time i was in this hospital i was in there for a broken foot. i had fallen down due to a sudden stress facture in my foot. i did not know it was broken at first. i went to this urgent care where i was made to wear a bright orange wrist band saying AT RISK FOR FALLS and them made to walk everywhere on my broken foot. when the doctor came in after x rays he told me that my foot was not broken and would welfare pay for tylenol? i am a nurse. i am not on welfare. i left walking on a broken foot and no health care. i went to my own doctor the next day and he told me i had broken my foot. and he gave me painkillers. seven oakes IS a joke. i complained to the whra, who called me and gave me a number to call at seven jokes. i called the number where a woman told me i was liar and it never happened and then hung up on me. i am not sure where i will go for this concussion when all the walk in clinics are closed for this head injury but i think going to seven jokes would just be a waste of time and energy. too bad. i really need a doctor right now.

14 hour wait in emergency for a serious eye injury.. rediculous

Psychotic Riddle

Worst patient care ever. Period. The staff were busy chatting and checking their phones instead of caring for patients, they rolled their eyes and acted as if any interruption by the patients was a huge inconvenience to them, and the wait times are ridiculous. If you can avoid it, NEVER come to this emergency care centre.

RobAndJo Communicalendar

Huge shoutout to the doctor, nurses and staff at Seven Oaks Urgent Care. They took fantastic care of my SO today. He needed a roster of tests and meds after an esophageal stent placement a few days ago, and they were warm, caring and thoroughly professional. He came out looking and feeling worlds better today, and had his first comfortable evening in a while. He even kept down some real food :) We are so grateful to you all!

I read lots of negative reviews of Seven Oaks, but I have to say, I went, expecting my visit to last 4 hours so I knew what to expect. All the staff were super nice. I was greeted at the door by a volunteer, seen by a great Dr, xrayed, and out the door in about 4 hours. It was great.

Sue Pearn

I was in the ER. for severe abdominal pain, vomitting and diarrhea. I was taken to Seven Oaks by ambulance. I was in excruciating pain, was triaged and told there was no emergency bed available and put into the waiting room with other waiting patients for 5 hrs without being seen by a physician or getting anything for pain. I begged the staff to help me, they were short tempered and told me to stop making so much noise as I was upsetting other patients. When I was transferred to the back to be seen by a physician I was informed that my blood count was normal and was given med. for nausea and colic, but still no analgesia. The Dr. informed me I had the flu and not a particularly bad one as I was not dehydrated yet. A short period of time later the same physician returned and stated that my chemistry showed and increase in my liver enzymes and at that time finally gave me analgesia. I had an ultra sound of gallbladder in am and the young Dr. in am stated there was no need for further intervention. I was discharged. The following day I visited my family physician with recurrence of pain. Fortunately that evening was admitted to St Boniface Hospital surgical observation, treated with appropriate meds and had my gall bladder removed the next day. My stay and care there was excellent . I would like it noted that I have been a Registered Nurse for 35 years in Manitoba and I too have dealt with staff cut backs, but have never treated another human being the way I was treated at Seven Oaks Hospital.

Brady Lee

Everyone was rude and seemed to care less about me and other patients. The lady at the E.R. Front desk was rude and obviously not a people person. This hospital is not well maintained or properly staffed. Id rather suffer at home than go wait in Seven Oaks E.R. and get treated by negligent rude people.

Linda Rudnik

This hospital does not deserve any stars. Always the worst treatment whenever I was forced to go there. Lived in the area too. How bad is that???? Had my nerve endings in my hand sewed to muscle tissue!! Talk about the pain!! They just shrugged it off like it was nothing while I was in pain from the 4 inch cut. Thanks for nothing!!

Richard Scott

This place has had a bad reputation from the day it was built, horrible. The staff is extremely rude and unprofessional. The night my mother died I went to tell the nursing staff in that area that I thought she had stopped breathing, and the person I spoke to said in the rudest way possible "you're at the wrong desk" Absolutely zero professionalism or empathy or any kind of caring. They then let me drive home by myself nobody talked to me stopped me or even asked if I was okay they simply let me leave. 7 Oaks, more like 7 jokes.
