I have been here 3 times for Eye Surgery, Dr. Tina Tang is wonderful along with Cathy (nurse/post-op check) just outstanding "bedside" manners. They (all doctors I have seen including Dr. Richards) take good care of you and the wait times are not long with or without an appointment. Cannot say enough good things about the Blue desk. Thank you for saving my vision not only once but 3 times.

Overall a great facility, sad that the Urgent Care is closed especially for the area that its in. HSC being the next closest hospital isn't very appealing but overall a great run facility.

This review is for Diagnostic Imaging Department: June 8th, March 2020. It concerns a receptionist in this department. She is older with short brown hair. So this is the woman that scared, pregnant women have to unfortunately deal with during their vulnerable times. My wife walked in and got treated with nothing but hostility. Because of COVID my wife and I wear gloves anytime we go out. The receptionist made my wife take off her gloves before filling out the questionnaire. Odd.. you are forcing people to use public pens during a pandemic. When my wife put the glove back on to use the pen the receptionist proceeded to yell at/get annoyed with my wife saying the pens were "sterilized". Sorry, but we don't trust anyone but ourselves when it comes to safety and sterilization. We are already very nervous and anxious during this time and this receptionist made it 100 times worse. I hope her superiors sees this review because it's unacceptable. We will be calling patient relations as well to complain. Misericordia: you are supposed to serve your community and make us reassured. Please talk to your staff. Maybe some of them would be better off working at McDonald's or Tim's where that type of attitude is expected.

I have been here lots. Sleep clinic. Emergency eye services. Xrays. My grandma stayed here too! Its my favorite hospital. Too bad it is not a hospital anymore, but I still like going here compared to HSC.

Went to emergency with a cut up hand last Friday around midnight and was in and out in half an hour. I think I just lucked out and hit a lull, but registration and triage were both super nice and efficient, and the doctor was great. Very satisfied with the visit.

I recently had a horrible experience in the diagnostic imaging department. The receptionist of the department was rude and abrupt. The ultrasound technician was very rough and I left the test feeling uncomfortable and stressed. I have had Recent ultrasounds are other hospitals that have been a much more positive and assuring experience. To top it off, at other hospitals the radiologist actually reviews the test within a reasonable time frame- at St B in particular I have never waited more than three hours. Because of the delay at Misericordia, I had to reschedule my doctors appointment because days later, results have still not been read. I was disappointed when I learned my test was to be at Misericordia and this experience has only affirmed my beliefs. I feel frustrated, uncared for, and surprised at the apathy when speaking with most of reception staff (with one exception). I will do my best to avoid this ‘health centre’ in the future Update: Since this time I have been contacted by management, and I do feel the manager understood and validated my concerns. They also mentioned taking steps to debrief with staff to avoid similar instances in the future... hopefully that does make a difference.

Misericordia is the first place I turn to when my family or I are in need of emergency care. The doctors and staff are always exceptional here. I'm extremely saddened by our governments decision to close this centre. It will be a severe detriment to Winnipeg's healthcare without them.

What was that mean? if you had flashes in one's eye, it means (maybe) you've got retinal detachment and may cause one's eye blind if fail to reach an eye doctor. That's why I was lucky to be taken care of when i saw flashes in my eye and I could reach an eye doctor to check my eye immediately in here. This 24/7 eye urgent centre makes Manitoban safe and protect us from eye emergency consequences.

Came here for an abdominal issue and had blood work done as soon as I finished with triage. Was checked in with triage and the nurse within minutes of showing up. Only waited an hour in the waiting room after blood work and was put into a room. Within minutes of being in the room I was taken for x rays. My total time spent was 3 hours and got 4 tests done. Very impressed!

I've been here for 5 hours, I came in with a feaver, feeling dizzy, and in serious pain. The nurse at the regerstration desk was so rude! When I asked her how much longer do you think it might be? I will definitely never come back let alone bring any one here!! It's called urgent care for a reason ! Not help full at all!

I found the staff very polite and accommodating. The test itself showed problems I didn't know existed, which has given me a better quality of life. Adjusting the wearing a mask all night was quite a challenge, yet, even if I could only do an hour.Then gradually increase the time, next thing you know you have it on all night. It's very much worth pushing through.

Arrived today mid-afternoon and departed in early evening. Total time was three hours and it was fairly busy. Those people who complain about a two or three hour wait have never been to a regular hospital ER. Wait times with them are 6 to 8 hours unless you're about to die. I am very pleased with the service I had at Misericordia Urgent Care--my first visit ever. Speedy, professional and polite. When it comes to great service, one hand washes the other. I am polite and so are the staff. I hope they keep this place open. Closing it and other ER's will burden an already faltering healthcare system. Find a way to fix the problems without just slashing expenses. See news articles dated today.

Disappointing care and treatment for an eye injury of my son, Nurses were rude, non-sympathetic and suggested the injury was self-inflicted and not an accident as was the case. Nurses were mistrusting and dismissive, and curt to both his girlfriend and her mother..The Doctor on call was rough, and disregarded the pain my son felt while he was probing his eyeball. My son almost fainted from this rough treatment. The doctor not only ignored his expressions of pain but also did not acknowledge an obvious gouge in the left corner of his eyeball. It is our feeling that both the care and treatment were extremely unprofessional and the poor attitude shown by the staff suggested a disregard for his age (23 years old).

Horrible hospital they had the door open while explaining what was wrong with my eye, Everybody waiting heard what was wrong with they didn't have a specialist there I was given a family doctor for my eye injury he put a light in both eyes and called it a day no tests or anything a basic diagnostic. Next eye injury call your optometrist or just goto another hospital this one isn't worth it.

They got a sign there that says maximum waiting hour is 6 hours, last time we we're there 3 months ago we waited for 9 hours, my cousin was there yesterday and they waited for 8 hours for her daughter open wound to be stitched but they still have that sign saying that waiting hour will only be 4 to 6 hour maximum. Waiting hour is so terrible and people tend to forget that you are still there waiting.

Worst "care center" in Manitoba. DONT waste your time coming here. Especially the eye urgent care. You'll be told your next every hour until 6 hours later you still havent gone in just everybody else has. When you ask it functions on a first come first serve basis so the only other conclusion is staff doesnt know left from right or cant figure out the persin who came in at 1pm goes before the person that came in at 5pm. If you can wait to see your family doctor do it. Youll never get the day back wasted here.

Okay, this is going to be a bit long but please understand I was really frustrated with the experience i had today and maybe rather shocked. Went to the reception to register as a patient. The lady there sitting on her desk told me she will be right there but it took her 25 minutes to actually get up from her chair and register me. She looked like she was just about to pop a baby and i dont mean it in a derogatory way. please take your maternity leave if you dont want to register a patient just because you don't feel like it. Then finally the doctor came to see me after waiting about an hour. She came to the room, didnt even ask any questions about my condition. Just had a look at it and told me yeah that's not significant enough, here are some ointments and you wearing a mask is not helping the stye. at this point, i was flabbergasted and did not even have to energy to process it and just left. I have a stye on my left eye and its been very painful for the last four months. it needs to be drained and she didn't even ask is it painful or not. why would i wear a mask to have it removed??? i would be much better off seeing doctor in my country. please save yourself the trouble and waste your time somewhere else.

First time walk in at Misericordia and i can't say enough good things! All the staff were extremely patient and kind. I was surprised by the little wait time for an x-ray, the results and a visit with a doctor. Will recommend to anyone who needs urgent care. Thank you!

Our first and last time there. The nurse that helped us out was super rude. My dad doesn't understand english well so I went in with him. He didn't move his eye in the direction she was telling him and she got really mad. she said that she doesn't have time to deal with him and that she's not even going to waste her time because she has other things to do. Super rude and unacceptable. 0/10 experience.

27th of may my mom went seeking help to the emergency low on energy for months and sick. The doctor instead of investigating what he knew to be very serious told her go home it's probably the flu. The level of ignorance and uncaring for people in the Canadian health care system is incomparable to the lack of care they show at this hospital on June 1st my mother collapsed in the shower taking a stroke due to stage 4 vascular tumor in her brain. She had ovarian cancer liver cancer as well as other areas. The doctor knew and played stupid not wanting to even take a chance at trying to save a life. If you want to die I highly recommend this hospital. If you want to be diagnosed with the flu when you are dieing of cancer go here. The doctors and nurses only care about getting you out of there regardless of ailment and are only looking to collect a paycheck. She passed away on the 8th of June due to nothing but the negligence provided by the doctors she asked for help.

I've only ever been to another hospital (on the West side of the city), but after today I'll probably switch over to Misercordia when needed. It was so clean and the staff was really friendly. Thank you to the staff that actually made a hospital visit not that awful. You are appreciated.

My mom got sent home from her CT scan because she asked the nurse why she was putting a IV in her arm. The nurse didn't explain why, instead she said "I dont have time for this, bring a translator next time" then told her to get up and book another appointment. My mom has lived in Canada for 35+ years. She understands and speaks English. Her next appointment she will be going alone, and thanks to a nurse friend (who explained in English) my mom now knows its a dye to see better in the scan. Thats all the nurse had to tell her, very rude on how she treated my mom.

What an absolutely deplorable experience. When I called in to find out what I would need to do to see a doctor not one out of the two people there told me this location was for optical only (they tried to cover that up once I was there) had I known on THE PHONE CALL I would not have dragged myself feeling the way i do all the way there. The worst of this being their behavior. Short, stoic, rude, unwelcoming and extremely unhelpful. All of those women working there need some new training and a resting rude face overhaul. The administration of this office should be embarrassed by their staff all around. Yes I will be contacting office administration as well. Maybe brush up on protocol, how to do your job effectively and not being such useless bags of time wasters. Honestly.

One time when I was a kid me and my mom had to wait for hours in urgent care for a problem with her eye. We called in "Miserable-Cornea" ever since then. Eventually she just got the referral she needed from her eye doctor. Not very "urgent" if you ask me

Been here for 5 hours for an eye emergency and still waiting in this tiny room which I been in here for 3! Not even an update to let me know when or if I'm even going to be seen!! Great way to take the number down on the WHRA waiting list... leave patients in the examine rooms... why make a complaint they will just say there's more urgent matters... I guess my vision is not urgent!! First time coming to misericordia and will be my last, won't recommend coming here! This is very irritating!

Went to the hospital last May in extreme pain and vomiting. I was asked by the front end nurse why I was here for just this. Misericordia sent me home twice with antibiotics. Turned out that I had stage 4 cancer and Intussusception. After two hospital visit at Misericordia. I decided to switch hospitals. Maybe be they should have compassion training for front end nurses at Misericordia.

I went to see Dr. John Att-Reda for eye irritation due to a procedure conducted elsewhere. I was seen by him immediately, there was no wait whatsoever. He checked my eyes and answered all of my questions in the most patient, comprehensive, and honest manner possible. He was spectacular, and made a difficult situation easier.

Got to hospital with only one other person in waiting room. Waited over an hour just to get in a room even with the wait time went from 15 minutes, then 30 and kept climbing. Passed out, hit my head, and needed stitches. Got a full EKG, stitches, tetanus shot, and check up and was in and out within one hour. Best emergency room experience ever. Would prefer not to repeat visit though.

I can see now why the miseracordia urgent care unit is being shut down by the province by comparing my experience that I had in urgent care with the experiences that many others had in urgent care. My conclusion is that this ward is probably one of the worst run units in the city. The doctors and staff here should be ashamed by all of the negative reviews that urgent care has received and even more ashamed by answering bad reviews with the exact same cut and paste reply. I think the PCs made a good call by deciding to finally shut this sh*^ down.

Horrible!!!!!!!! Dont deserve even 1 star. I came in with tight chest and dry cough, fever 37C. Never got called to see a doctor for 3 hours, asked why such long wait and why i am the only one with such lond wait time - the answer was computer will decide when my turn. Ok. Finally get called to see a nurse, she took my vitals and mentioned that there is noise in the chest and "maybe" i need xray, but they just left me sitting in exam room for another hour, got so cold! So I never even saw a doctor, 4 hours wait for nothing, didnt even get to do xray. At midnight i just gave up and walked away, being there just a waste of time. I am sure if i waited for xray, that would be another hour just to get in, another 2 hours to see a doc for 5 minutes. To complain officially that i felt i didnt receive an excellent treatment would be another waste of my time, i am sure the reply will be all was done up to the standards. No thank you. My donations list just got a little bit shorter.

I attended the Emergency Room with an open dog bite wound to the hand. It was a busy night, but with every new patient, I continued to drop to the bottom of the list to see a doctor. After 3 hours and 15 minutes of waiting, and about 6 or 7 patients arriving after me, I was told I would have to wait at least 7 hours to be seen and I was the last file being considered at that point. Usually a patient person, but this was unreasonable and unacceptable. So much for getting the suggested care of a tetanus shot and antibiotics within 8 hours of the bite from this Winnipeg hospital. A rating of 1 star is 1 star too many.
