Last winter I was throwing a ball for our dog Cooper. He came back with the ball and couldn’t put any weight on his back left leg. The next day I took him here. Bad news, he tore ever ligament and tendon in his knee. This was heartbreaking because he is so well known in Fernie and here as “the best trail dog”. His happiness is centred around bike rides, 15-20KM. I honestly thought this was over for him, he was only 7. Dr Felicia had a plan to re-construct his knee and we agreed. To be honest I had very low expectations and agreed to proceed expecting Cooper to have a limp for the rest of his life and no more bike riding. Well we gave him 4 months of minimum activity and the last 2 months we have increased it. Last weekend I took him for a 20KM bike ride and he was loving it. He has fully recovered and no one could tell he had an injury. I’m so impressed with this clinic! They all did an excellent job! Thank you to everyone who helped Cooper!

We can always get our dog in quickly when we need to. They keep us posted on everything through mail and email, and we haven't missed any boosters or checkups since switching to Green Acres. Their prices are also quite reasonable for a vet in the city, and the mini dog park is a really nice touch for when you have to get a sample from your dog. Always clean, and they have free treats for pups and people!

Reception was very friendly and accommodating and the building is beautiful and well maintained. Dr. Colodey is one of the most positive, energetic people you will ever meet. I have a very anxious dog and was a little concerned about how quickly she'd settle in at a new vet clinic, but she was more than fine. In fact, after the exam was over, Malla whined and pawed at the door Dr. Colodey left through because she wanted to follow her! I've never seen Malla react that way after meeting someone for the first time. The dog has spoken. We will be coming back.

The service was absolutely amazing. Our beloved cat Smokers passed away on New Years Day. They were very understanding that we were grieving. We opted for a regular cremation with part of his favorite blankie. They offered free ink paw prints and possibly a lock of his fur. They were very helpful and supportive. One of their customers even paid for it when I went to borrow the last little bit of money we were short. To this person we would like to say thank you. It meant the world to us.

I went to Green Acres after I had been to a different vet with my very sick pup and wanted a second opinion. They were recommended to me by a friend and I am SO glad I went. First of all, the front desk/receptionist staff is WONDERFUL and so caring. They were extremely accommodating and warm on the phone when making the appointment, and were wonderful to deal with when we arrived at the facility. My previous vet's office hadn't sent the records to Green Acres after multiple requests and finally one of the ladies working reception (I didn't catch her name) sat on the phone with them and didn't get off until they sent them. Small touch but I felt like she truly cared about my time and wanted to make sure everything went well for us. We saw Dr. Ramona Penney and I was so happy with how thorough she was. She listened to my concerns and didn't try to brush them off, and took the time to notice that something just wasn't adding up with my dog's health. Dr. Penney said she felt my dog had a neurological issue and referred me to a specialist in Calgary (who was also amazing), and even took the time to phone and find out if they had an appointment once I had left her office, and asked them to hold the appointment while she called me back to check if it would work for my schedule. Thanks to the staff at Green Acres, my little sweetie got the care and attention she needed, and can now be treated before things get worse. Had Dr. Penney not been as thorough as she was, my dog's disease likely would not have been caught, and she would not have landed in the superb care of the specialist team in Calgary. I would highly recommend Green Acres Animal Hospital to anyone looking for a great veterinary team for their furry family members!

Dr. C took a lot of time to ensure I understood all of Millie's health needs, vaccinations protocols and diet. I'm sorry to have to rate so low, but our experience was twofold ! The second half of our visit there, was a definite 5 star, but the first half was a two star at most ! We came there in seach of a new vet for out three large purebreds, and we needed a spay done ASAP . It should be routine. So a good place to start. But instead it turned out to be anything but ! Our dog came out from the surgery, barely able to function, and even passed out, eventually she was sent home, as no one is there the entire night to watch over them, so I knew I could better do so at home. She got worse and worse during the night, and I knew, my dog was very ill, and near death, as she could not even walk, and fainted again! I was sure she was bleeding inside! We rushed her first thing where another vet, soon found blood in her abdomen, and rushed her in for surgery, for the second time in 24 hours ! Obviously something had not been tied off as it should have been, the first time around, just as I suspected! This is not my first dog to be spayed ! These ( eventually) two other vets? Did a fantastic job, in saving our dogs life! They are amazing talented caring vets who did absolutely everything they could for our chocolate sweetie , and stayed by her all day to make sure she was 100 % good to go,Before we got her home again ! I can't say enough about them both ! 5 stars for sure ! Jamie is on her way to normal health again, because of them! Thank you ! No charge either ! Although the I feel, honestly there should not be any, as it's not our fault she needed all this work ! It's a fault, an oversight, a missed suture, whatever, missed by the first vet, that caused the bleed, that's what all the research we have found shows? I have been able to find nothing to the contrary ? Not a thing, honestly ! That brings me to my final point ! No apology from the first vet at all? Not an offer of a refund? Or a discount? Or a free follow up ? To MAYBE keep us coming back ? Gain our trust again ? No, just a chipper message on the phone, a normal check to see how things were going ?like nothing ever happened ? That was about one of the worst weekends of OUR lives ok? I've barely slept! Laying on a wood floor, making SURE my dog is still breathing ? Prying open her eyes to make sure she didn't pass out again ? How's it going ? NOT GREAT MISS , ok ! So that's our experience, and I felt a need to say it open and publicly, because no one ever does ! Well, I'm done being nice , this happened,!! and I don't think it was right ! But I still say thank you to the ones that DID do right by us! That will never ever be forgotten ! I feel, that there are GREAT vets there! And some, --- where I think there is improvement to be made for sure ! To at least acknowledge what happend after you left our dog in the care of other vets ? When making contact with us, would have been minimal, I would think ?

Took our 8wk old hound mix pup for her first shots, and oh my goodness it was such an incredible experience. They treated her with lots of treats, cuddles and even a toy. She didn't even realize she got her shot! Our pup had such a good experience she didn't want to leave the clinic, and "sassed" me when it was time to go. Can't recommend this place enough, and it's so nice to know my dog won't fear the vet due to their care and compassion and making it a great first experience for her.

The newly renovated atmosphere at Green Acres animal hospital is as welcoming as it is professional. Friendly helpful staff, we never hesitate to visit whether it be a minor concern and time for humane end of life procedure. All options are clearly laid out, and what is in the best interest of our pal is always of utmost interest to us! Most of all, we feel the veterinarians really care. The comfort room is totally private, and we were given plenty of time to say our goodbyes. I'll go nowhere else for my pet's needs!

A few months ago we brought our cat in for a second opinion after receiving some questionable treatment suggestions from another vet. I can't say enough great things about the folks at Green Acres. Staff is incredibly friendly and go above and beyond to be helpful and make your time there as smooth and stress free as possible. The vet herself was incredibly compassionate and for the first time at a vet, didn't feel like they were just trying to milk me for as much cash as they can. She followed up with us after as well to make sure our cat was doing well. All products and services are very reasonably priced. The food we were buying at our last vet was $10 less at Green Acres! Again, can't say enough good things about the staff and services.

When I became an adult, moved out on my own and got my own fur babies, I didn't think twice about going to Green Acres for my pets needs. I have a sweet German Shepherd, Lorenzo, and a lovey Calico kitty, Lido (pronounced Lee-dough - like Lido Beach in Italy). My babies actually get excited when I tell them it's vet time! Well.. Lorenzo more than Lido. Cats are cats, but I'd like to think she's secretly excited. Lorenzo just loves Dr. Sarah Barnes so much! She is very kind, and has a gentleness about her that you can feel. They may be a bit more $$ than a couple other places, but to me the quality of care is worth it. I highly recommend Green Acres Animal Hospital! Keep it up guys! ????❤️????

I have been taking my dogs and cats to Green Acres for > 10 years now. The staff are great and truly care about your pets. They do not try to up sale you on things you do not need. They communicate with you very well and allow you to make the decisions every step of the way. They are a little pricey compared to Taber or Fort Mcleod which is the only reason I give a 4 vs 5. I like that they are transparent and honest and give you advice and options. I will continue to use Green acres for many years to come. Great work!

I wish I could put 6 stars if It was possible. After calling around to most of the veterinary clinic within the city; they were one of two places I was able to bring my bearded dragon. The other being very upfront that they have very little experience with them and being referred to Calgary would be most likely. Green Acres team went above and beyond each time exceeding my hopes for finding a good clinic. Dr. Sarah Barnes was happy to give me all the opinions possible for testing while being extremely understanding of cost constraints. Originally recommending a blood test but after farther observations came back a asked about possibly doing an x-ray. Each test I inquired to the cost of each test and she was happy to give me the pricing as well as recommendations and alternative options to have tests be sent to Calgary. Without me asking as she was giving me a total and recommendations she offered one test at a subsided rate to help out. Dr. Barnes then completed the xray and seeing a strange abnormality came back explained that she would be happy to still do the blood test but seeing what she did in the first test she said she didn't want to run tons of tests running the cost up if the first one brings up a huge red flag. She told me she had never heard or seen of this and she personally was going to reach out to a vet specializing in exotics animals at no additional charge but out of curiosity as a vet. On top of everything the next day the response would come in, and despite having the day off took time to get the information and call me to let me know that next day. At no time did I feel like I was in a business but more of a place that takes the best care imaginable for any pet and has to charge to keep their bills paid. I would recommend Dr. Barnes to anyone and everyone, as well as all of the other veterinarians and staff at work there. I They'll most certainly be my vet of choice for my scaly pets as well as my fluffy ones. Thank you so much Green Acres!

I wasn't sure how he would react with the new smells and sounds, and he was a little nervous, but when the vet came in she immediately was complimenting him on his appearance and he warmed up to her very quickly. Its possible he's a little vain. The vet was professional, friendly and very informative. I've only ever had female cats so I wanted to make sure I was meeting any different requirements he may have and she was very helpful in answering my questions. They had the nerve of telling me if I booked right away I would receive a 10% discount.. $2000 for extraction of baby teeth on one dog and teeth cleaning on 2 dogs. I used to go there for all my pets shots and everything but not anymore. Would not and will not recommend to anyone. Avoid at all costs. I've only lived here for about a year and don't have a vet for my kitty. This was about the 5th place I called and after explaining my concerns they would simply tell me I could schedule a check-up and give me a price. I spoke to a lady for about 15 mins and she listened to what my concerns were, and made sure she had the information she needed to help me. She gave me tips and products to try to try to make it so I don't have to bring him to the vet. And she even told me what she would do and feel comfortable if it was her cat. I am super impressed with the care they provided when I haven't even brought my cat there and have given no money so far. I will definitely be choosing them for the care of my cat. They are also fairly well priced. They weren't the cheapest I found but they were definitely in the middle and really care about the service they provide.

Wrong Vet neutered my bunny, said wrong vet didnt use enough anesthesia and my bunny woke up during surgery, resulting in an infection of the area and a respiratory infection. no apologies were given and no warning was given letting us know our regular vet was not going to be doing the procedure. have since transferred our files to another vet and will not be returning ever again. edit: customer service by the lady up front was horrendous and she should not be in that role

Every time I have dealt with this office has been a great experience. My rabbit had an eye issue and the vet saw him, treated it, and offered complimentary follow-up service. When my rabbit ate a bit of a houseplant the vet spoke to me on the phone, gave me the number of a rabbit specialist in Calgary when she wasn't 100% sure of the answer, and even phoned to follow up with me and see how my bunny was. When I brought in my rabbit for a check up, (due to a scheduling mistake) the vet showed up slightly late and didn't charge for the visit at all as an apology. Green Acres will always have my service and recommendation to anyone looking for a trust-worthy clinic with sincere, caring, understanding staff. :)

As a new resident here ,I had no idea this vet was so far from my home,but I read their reviews, and chose Green Acres ,based on reviews. As it turns out ,I didn't really have anything done ,,I was booked to have my dog spayed and I took a 70.00 return Taxi trip to drop off my dog , I wasn't even out of the cab near my house and they called to say they couldn't do it because she still had 2 baby teeth. They were kind enough to have a staff member drive my dog home at the end of the day, saving me an additional 70.00 Cab fare Ultimately I booked with a vet closer to my home,and my dog was spayed yesterday. So far ,she seems just fine. Thanks to Green Acres for their service, though, it was a very short lived relationship. Happy New Year,!

My guinea pig has had a respiratory infection since September 2020. I have been into the office multiple times for check ups, xrays and to get medications. Having a sick pet is very stressful and the staff remained calm and helpful throughout the whole process. The veterinarian's have gone out of their way to figure out the best course of treatment including consulting specialists. Dr. Catherine Colodey was the vet we mostly saw and she was very knowledgeable and helpful. There are not many places in Lethbridge to take exotic pets, and I would highly recommend taking your exotic pet here.

Vets and staff are great. But for the second time I went to pick up some medication, and there was no staff in front at all ( apparently they were having a staff meeting AGAIN! ), I waited and waited and still nobody, so I tried calling them and got their answering service. About 10 minutes later other people are now waiting with me both inside and outside and finally a staff member showed up, all of us agreed this is no way to run a business during a PANDEMIC!!

A few weeks ago I called to make an appointment and was told that there were no appointments till later in the week, but I could come the next morning and drop my pet cat off and she would be looked at by a Vet. I dropped her off and waited to hear from the Vet. At 3:00pm I called to check and see if she was ready to be picked up and was told that the Vet had called me with her status. I had not received a call from anyone. I drove over to the clinic to find out what was going on and to talk to the staff about their poor communication skills. Tests revealed she needed Dental surgery. I took her in for surgery on October 29 2021 and everything was fine and I took her home. Sadly on Nov 02 2021 at 3 in the morning we found her struggling to breath and within a few minutes her heart stopped and she passed away. We brought her to Green Acres at 8 in the morning so she could be cremated. I asked if I could see the Vet and was told she was in surgery and that a message would be left for her to call me so we could go over what might have caused her death. It is now 11:49pm on the day she passed away and did not receive any calls from Green Acres. The medical service is great, communication among the staff is not working. I only needed a few minutes with the Vet to discuss what had happened and did not receive any call. If and when I choose to adopt another pet, I will not use Green Acres services. Disappointed.

This vet clinic has been AMAZING. They give honest advice and their prices are very resonable. They have snuck me in for a vet visit in a pinch when one of my fur babies got hurt or developed an infection that festered very quickly and made sure they were taken good care of. They neutered my little fur guy and you never would have known he had had surgery by the time I got him home, he did so well (and I loved the texted pics to show him snacking when he woke up. I would highly recommend this clinic to anybody who has a pet family member.

I was completely ignored for about 10 minutes while I stood there holding my deceased pet. The one staff member wouldn't even look at me. Not even a hello. I even called ahead so they'd be prepared to take my pet for cremation. No condolences were offered. Eventually I was helped out to the tune of $250. I guess I didn't spend enough to warrant a tiny bit of compassion, or even basic customer service.

Dr. Barnes was so very caring, thorough, ad explained all our options. I am very happy with the care that my pets have received at this clinic. They gave very good care to my dog, not only for shots, but for her spay operation. Then when she was needing dental care, they cleaned her teeth and did a removal of one tooth. My dog healed very well and didn't have problems. When my dog had a severe UTI, they came back to the clinic after work, to take care of her. When my beloved cat was suffering too much and her time had come, they were very kind to me, and to my cat. We have had occasion to use Green Acres Animal Hospital a number of times over the last few years as our animals have aged. Great affordable care for my puppy. We were able to book my puppy in on the same day due to a cancellation. I was so appreciative of this and the team worked with me to arrange payment as I could not bring my puppy in personally that day. My daughter also brings her puppy to Green Acres and the staff and service have always been exceptional. Thank you!
