Our dog has been seeing Dr. Kirsty Elliot in Oncology for the past 2 months. The entire Oncology Team is compassionate and professional. Our girl is still happy to go in with Tia for her chemotherapy treatment. It means so much to us knowing that our dog is treated with kindness and is in expert hands. Dr. Elliot is extremely knowledgeable and caring, answering all our questions and explaining next step as treatment progresses. We really appreciate the detailed reports and follow-up we receive which is really helpful to help coordinate with our regular veterinarian. Thank you for being such a caring Team!
The experts at BBSVH have saved my Service Dog's 'life' twice in 6 months. My vet was in err (twice) and so BB's Dr. Geoffrey Hutchinson DVM, MS, DACVS - aka 'brilliant surgeon' saved 'Tiger' from a misdiagnosis of hip dysplasia (he deduced a pulled groin) and resultant recommendation for surgical excision of back leg's femoral head (FHO) and most recently, BB's Dr. Astrid Nielssen DVM, MVSc, DACVIM - aka 'internal medicine Goddess' corrected a misdiagnosis of Cushing's disease, to be the significantly more benign (and treatable) Diabetes mellitus. A game changer. Local Vets cannot be experts in every discipline and so 'no blame' attached. That said, the air smells so much better when you have an EXPERT on your side. A certified / registered Service Dog has a value that can only be equated via functions of 'love' and 'inputs toward quality of life' (and in BC, it takes 3.5 - 4 years & ~ 25K to obtain a Service Dog due to 'PADS' immoral monopoly). Such animals are both magical and sacrosanct. BB's 'team' is the very best and though it 'kinda sux' your amigo may someday require such high level care, to not have available would be akin to a crime against nature. Though I do not possess the ability to deliver the appropriate level of heartfelt thanks these professionals so deserve, perhaps this review will help others with their decision as to whom they entrust their best friend's health. Without them, Tiger may well have been both crippled and ill beyond repair. TY BB - 'Tig' is happy and well taken care of. It means everything.
This clinic is completely lacking in communication with its clients. When we had our first appointment I had no idea how long they would keep my dog. We waited in the car for 3 hours while they did tests on him. I had a one year old in the vehicle with me, it was not a great time. If they would have told me how long it would be I would have went home or killed time somewhere else. Our dog needed an ultrasound which our vet had told us when we were referred and the day of our appointment the tech was out at another clinic so we had to come back another day. If I would have known that the tech wouldn’t be in that day we would have booked another day. Finally when we went back for our follow up appointment our dog got more bloodwork done and urine tested and I never got the results. I called multiple times and was told they were still waiting on some of the tests. It’s been two weeks since our appointment and we put our dog down yesterday. So we basically paid $300 for nothing. It would have been helpful to get the results to either start a new treatment or to help us make this difficult decision. In the 7 weeks we were clients at this office they never followed up once to check on our dog. Extremely disappointed with the service we received here.
Top notch Oncology Service. It’s a position no pet owner wants to be in, and a great hospital makes a big difference. Thank you Dr. Herrera and team for the outstanding and accommodating care. I appreciate the sympathy card and miss Athena very much.
I am a human emergency physician. I am clear that my knowledge has little cross over when taking care of my dogs. My dog Luke has been to Boundary Bay vet for emergencies throughout his 15 year life. All of the staff - receptionists, vet assistants, vets - are always fabulous. They never try to rip me off with suggesting tests that Luke doesn't really need. When Luke was younger, he swallowed a nut and ended up with a horrible GI obstruction. This team saved his life without a doubt. I cannot thank they enough for the high quality and informed care they provide. I would not hesitate for a second to bring animals to this excellent service to Langley residents and beyond.
My dog was referred by our regular vet to the cardiology department at Boundary Bay. From the time we arrived and phoned to check in, it was an excellent experience. The staff member who answered the phone and came out to get my dog was cheerful, friendly, and a pleasure to talk to. She greeted my dog gently and let her sniff her before taking her inside. Dr. Harmon, the cardiologist, phoned me when he was finished examining my dog and explained things clearly, allowing lots of space for questions and providing information and resources. The next day, I received an email with a detailed summary of the appointment and findings as well as supplementary information about my dog's condition. I'm very grateful for the kind and informative treatment my dog and I received from Boundary Bay, and I'm glad that they'll continue to be involved in my dog's monitoring.
We have been seeing Dr. Wright for the past year and super happy with her knowledge and professionalism. I have an English Mastiff and due to their size, care for them is different in many ways. Dr. Wright performed surgery on dog, she had complications post op and Dr. Wright got her back to being fully functional again. I can't thank her enough. My dog is my baby at 160 pounds ????.
Very professional. Has the most friendly staff! Definitely recommend this place
Had my little dog in today for a surgical consultation for a luxating patella. We saw Dr. Evan Crawford. He was saw kind and informative as he went through all of the information I would need to make a decision for my little dog. I felt very comfortable and that my dog was in very good hands. The staff was extremely kind and went out of their way to make me and my dog comfortable too. Thank you Boundary Bay.
Such a great staff. Helpful with so much while I had my blue(cat) getting looked at.
The staff at Boundary Bay Veterinary Specialty Hospital are AMAZING! My Pomeranian Puppy, Mickey was on a walk, where he suddenly collapsed and was unable to walk anymore ! His regular vet referred us to a neurologist STAT. Thank you so much to Emma from the Neurology department, who managed to have the AMAZING Dr. Gordon assess Mickey outside of his schedule. Our dog spent the night at the hospital, and Dr. Gordon gave us frequent updates as he did different testings to figure out why Mickey had lost right side sensation in his body. He was very detailed and thorough, and explained everything to us very patiently. We were so lucky to have such knowledgable, professional neurologist looking after Mickey. Dr. Gordon followed up with us in a couple of days, and answered all our questions with lots of patience and detail. All the nurses and receptionist at the hospital were superb at giving us updates every time we called, and they never seemed frustrated to be dealing with an anxious dog-mom. Thank you Dr. Gordon, Emma, all the nursing staff, and receptionists at BBVSH. Mickey was so lucky to be treated by all of you guys ! We will be back at BBVSH physiotherapy to help Mickey mobilize again :) ! We can't thank you all enough !!
Hey Dr. Vogt. All of bad reviews are for your clinic. Do not try to give excuses saying “ Can’t find files , not your clinic etc.”. Your clinic is the worst Veterinay in Vancouver. Shame…. DO NOT bring your lovely pet here if you love your pet. They are only good in front but not when you take home your pet in much worse condition when you come in. They only cared about the money! All about making as much money from you as they can. I cannot stress enough to anyone to check prices before you visit these con people. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER FOR MY PUPPY AND MY FAMILY!
The most horrific experience. Dog had partial tarsal arthrodesis in July due to injury. Surgery went well as per surgeon. Day 10 dressing changed at Boundary Bay, sutures removed. I was told that incision appeared healed but she had small sore on her paw. Day 13 I took dressing off to change it, incision was infected with bone and plate visible and deep tissue necrosis to her paw. Antibiotics and dressing changes daily, the wound was healing slowly until the plate broke the bone, informed the surgeon, agreed to remove the plate, post 2nd surgery in October incision healed except open area which was getting more open until i could see the sharp edge of the bone, removed the bone with sharp edges, within a week wound healed. The dog is not weight bearing and never was since 1st surgery, perhaps never will. I rarely write reviews but in this case I had too, to worn others that want the best for their dogs but could end up with more problems. I trusted reputation of the clinic.
My cat had a polyp growing in his ear which was blocking his ear canal and causing persistent infection. He needed a bulla osteotomy. The surgery alone was close to $5K. I decided to proceed with it as this has been a recurring issue for the past 2 years. He was sent home with some pain killer and no antibiotics. I think he only got intravenous ones during the surgery. I thought that was strange. I went into debt in order to pay for it as I didn't have the full amount readily available, but I was willing to do it as the surgery was supposed to fix the issue. Well...it didn't. It's been 3 months since the surgery. He still has the infection. The ear drops I was provided during the last visit (roughly a month after surgery and that cost additional $400) have done nothing. I was told to see my regular vet as they don't deal with "regular" diseases. As nice, lovely and friendly Dr. Knapp was, it doesn't change the fact that I spent a whopping amount of money for a procedure that hasn't really done what it was supposed to do and it didn't improved my cat's quality of life. On top of that I was told that he might need additional testing and a possible MRI to figure out why the infection isn't going away. It doesn't take an expert to figure out how much that will cost and I simply can't afford anymore vet visits, so my cat is still in discomfort. Not impressed.
Dr Kathryn Ash was very nice, compassionate and thorough made me feel like she actually cared about my cats well being. The front desk ladies were also very nice and caring. Especially Sheena she was amazing. They were fast, and efficient and reasonably priced. I will definitely bring my cat back.. thank you everyone that helped tonight.
Wonderful team and advanced, well-equipped facilities. Your pet will be in excellent hands at BBVSH if they are ever in need of emergency or specialty care. Can't recommend enough.
My dog had both of her TTA surgeries done at Boundary Bay Veterinary Specialty Hospital. (I never considered having them done at a clinic that wasn't Board Certified.) Certainly receiving the diagnosis from my vet and then sending her in for surgery (twice) was scary (for both of us), incredibly stressful, and expensive. But it was the best money I've ever spent. I trusted the BBVSH staff and surgeons completely and they didn't let us down. Every person we worked was kind, patient, helpful and clear -- and beyond capable. My dog's second-knee recovery was very complicated and long (her fault, not theirs), and her surgeon Dr. Crawford spent many, many hours with us exploring options for speeding healing and keeping her happy. So kind. Today, several years later, my now-senior girl adventures, swims, hikes and runs like the wind. Dr. Crawford and his team are our heroes. Yes, her treatment was expensive -- much more than a regular family vet. But I was willing to pay for the very best care and surgery by the province's top doctors. 10/10 Recommend.
The staff here were great. From the sign in process, through the diagnosis/explanation, to the end decision and care - I felt like my dear Caly was cared for at the highest standard. My visit was an emergency - when I pulled up they were waiting by the door ready to accept my Pharaoh Hound, Calypso, who was unable to walk. The tech took her from my arms and got her into diagnosis ASAP. The sign in process was straight forward, I was made aware of any fees, billing was easily done through email and phone. The Dr. was non-bias and straight forward with the diagnosis and options; he was also very helpful and understanding as I had to make critical decisions. Unfortunately, Caly's acute condition was one that I feared would cause her too much stress and the decision was made. Myself and my partner were allowed to be there for her passing, holding her through the end. The staff were very kind, allowing us as much time with Caly as we needed and made the process less stressful. The attending Dr. explained everything, answered our questions, and assured us all along the way until we left. They also updated my family vet as to her condition, tests, and outcome. I'm heartbroken writing this difficult review, but so thankful for the care my Calypso received at Boundary Bay, and thankful for the staff for making the whole process bearable during this hard time. Thank you, thank you for caring for my precious Caly.
Called them for a harness for my dog, confirmed they had it in stock, confirmed the price, told him I was driving in from Vancouver, arrived, price was more than double, seemed like a bait and switch.
Fantastic team! Our dog needed a CT scan and emergency surgery and they were absolutely awesome. They kept us up to date every step of the way, were patient with us since when emotional and distraught, and the costs came in under their quote. Vet clinics everywhere are experiencing staff shortages so we were so grateful that they were able to take care of our guy as quickly and caringly as they did. I would absolutely recommend this clinic for emergencies.
In Oct I had to rush my dog to Boundary Bay. I just need to thank the staff that took care of the phone calls, directions, meeting us at the door, the call no pet owner needs to get (We had to put our Big boy down) how patient and understand and kind everyone was. The time they gave us to spend with our dog to say goodbye and checking on us. The Dr. who came in and got down on her hands and knees to administer the medication well I held my dog (he is big so he pretty much was laying on me and then his head on my shoulder) to make sure he knew how loved he was and there was no other choice and how sorry I was but he wouldn't be in pain anymore. What you guys do and how you carry yourself is beautiful. I thank you for everything you did for Oden and my family in a time like this.
Monday morning at 2am our world stopped and our 1.5 year old French Bulldog started to rapidly lose feeling in his back legs and was in so much pain. We rushed him to the team at Boundary Bay where we found out he needed emergency back surgery and I must say that they are absolutely amazing from top to bottom. The knowledge of the staff and love they showed our boy Cash made this so much more bearable for us. The surgeon was so great he eased minds and did such an amazing job with cash. Cash is now home and doing great. I cannot thank all of you enough for everything you have done for cash and ourselves. If I could give 100 stars I would !!! Thank you thank you thank you !
It was so refreshing to go to an emergency vet that wasn't just interested in taking my money. Came here after our dog was experiencing pain. We felt like we were in great hands the entire time. Got the sense that they genuinely cared about my dog and they gave us a very detailed report of the visit. In addition, they made sure to follow up with us a couple of times after. Thank you ❤
These people are kind , compassionate and very helpful, they saved my cat from agony and pain and I am so grateful for everything they have done for Lexi :) Animal lovers to the fullest and they took very good care of my cat , thank you guys so much
Everyone here is AMAZING. I brought my very sick cat in as an emergency transfer from another vet. She had a pneumothorax and was in really rough shape. The staff were super kind, caring, and responsive. They quoted me for a three day stay, but after two nights my cat was better and was ready to come home - they really did everything they could to get her better and make her comfortable. The communication from the liaisons in the office was fantastic, they even sent me a photo on the first night, which really made me feel so much better. Best vet ever!
Horrific experience. Dog broke her right hind leg. Took her in at 6:00pm on the Saturday of the May long weekend. They examined her, X-rays, etc. Stabilized and bound the leg effecrively imobilizing it. They quoted $12,500 for surgery to repair the leg (with many follow up visit$) and, get this, $7,000 to AMPUTATE. They told us they would not be able to operate until Wennesday and that staying with them would cost $1,200 PER NIGHT in the interum. We got her the hell out of there but not before getting billed for $2,400 for less than a 24 hour stay. Then they had the gall to call us later to tell us they forgot to charge us for a dressing change - $178! Truly mind blowing! We went to Brookswood Veterinary Hospital. They performed the surgery for $1,500 (three 15 minute units compared to Boundart Bay's assertion of a six to seven hour procedure). We went back to Brookswood the next day for a fentynal patch change...no charge, it was included in the original quote. Everyone loves their animals but there's no need to just throw your money away. Shop around.
Awesome doctor with A nice staff but don’t let that fool you. I’ve contacted them 5 times every 3 hours to get the doctors notes to proceed with our dogs neurological problems. Front desks keeps saying “Mailing right now” or “I’ll get the doctor to do that”. Long story short I’ve still not received any advice via email on initial findings. All I was given was A $6000 “vet plan” on what procedures they are willing to do on my dog and yet they won’t send over the doctors initial findings. We’re A kennel club located in BC Canada and this vet doesn’t care about communication. I’m lost for words for this business and that’s why we will be finding A new place to proceed with our dogs “vet plan”. Just horrible service.
I recently took my small dog to Boundary Bay's emergency clinic after hours. My dog suffered a laceration/tear wound on her side requiring staples to close the wound. Dr Jill Thatcher and all the support staff were very lovely, knowledgeable and friendly. The closure of the wound is very neatly done. My dog was patched up quickly and is recovering well!
We had to bring our puppy Debbie to Boundary Bay at the advice of the vet we saw on Christmas Eve that said she needed access to specialists. This was the last thing we felt our family needed with a very recent unrelated trauma. The staff at BBVSH were absolutely next level, working tirelessly through the holidays while all our vets are of course closed, not once did I feel like I was an inconvenience to them. Every single person I spoke to was so friendly and caring. They even sent us photos on Christmas morning of her all dressed up for the festivity. Every person we came in contact with was here for the right reasons and they truly care about your pets well being. They do a great job of explaining everything in layman's terms I couldn't feel an eyeroll behind the phone from anyone to my million questions. The moment the vet spoke to me and gathered some history she had a hunch of what was going on (and my google PhD very much agrees). It sounds like we have a long road ahead of us but they've already set us up with a specialist appointment for January and I'm very certain our puppy is in the absolute best care available. Thank you so much to all the staff at BBVSH for making an emergency visit (over Christmas none the less) as warm of an experience as possible.
Took my 3 yr old dog in to see the neurologist Dr. Gordon yesterday. The Dr and the team were fantastic with Coco. Coco doesn't like going to the vet but the team took their time with him and got him through all the testing he needed to do. Thank you to the team for answering all my questions and being amazing with Coco, we appreciate it.
Thank you to everyone for your amazing care of our dog Zeus.....and special thanks to Dr. Herberts!
Took my dog in under an emergency and was met with the friendliest, genuine and professional staff possible. Couldn’t be more nervous with the him being so so scary sick and trying a new place not knowing anything about them. With the vet “stereotype” this can be scary but I’ve never felt so confident and trusting in a clinic before. My dog is back to normal, they broke down cost in such a way where I didn’t feel pressured or guilted into what I needed to do. Obviously he’s my furrbaby and I’d sell my soul and then some to have him healthy and forever so cost isn’t an issue or even a question but not feeling pressured was super helpful during my panic and allowed me to think more clearly. Couldn’t be more thankful for everyone who worked there. My dog is back to his usual pep and I’m so relieved.
They had me wait 4 hours in their parking lot while they let my dog bleed in a kennel. I finally told them to give me my dog back after they still hadn’t looked at her 4 hours later. My previous dog was treated there for Cancer in 2013 and it was a very different place at that time. This place is obviously poorly run now and I would not take any animal there for an emergency!
While I do wish my golden never required special treatment from either Dr Elliot in oncology or Dr Harmon in cardiology, I am forever grateful for their compassion and empathy. They have both taken the time to fully explain the relevant conditions and treatment options, even during the challenge of a global pandemic. Dr. Crawford completed a challenging surgery that without a doubt added years onto my dog’s life. It’s really unfair that dogs have to suffer from these types of serious medical conditions, but having caring doctors makes it much easier to manage. Thank you!
The staff at Boundary Bay were incredibly empathetic, professional, and compassionate during one of the worst moments of our lives; our 1.5 year old Bernese Mountain Dog required surgery for a foreign body removal late at night. A huge, and heartfelt, thank you to Dr. Geoffrey Hutchinson for his incredible work on our boy. Thank you again for taking the time to answer all of our tear-filled questions at crazy hours of the day and night.
Im writing this review to let everybody know that I believe these guys to be the best of the best . I have n 8 yo shih tzu who battled an infiltrative lipoma in her rear leg for 6 months with 2 other surgeries done by another vet who butchered her.I changed vets and they immediately referred me to Boundary Bay.Everything that happened with them was upfront, informative and to the point .I want to thank Dr.Crawford and all staff for the care and attention to my dog . It seems any complaint is about cost and yes its costly but I realized that all diagnosis have to be done and our government doesn't have a health plan for our pets so I find out how much things actually cost. So get pet insurance , it sure helped me out. Anyway , thanks Dr Crawford for saving my dogs life and giving me many more years
Had to take my dog in as she was a great deal of pain and GI issues. They were very professional and courteous and managed to fit me in quickly on a Friday night when other locations were unable to take us in. Dr. Jill Thatcher was very informative and updated me with the potential plan before proceeding. She also had clear discharge instructions, given verbally and via a printout. I recommend them to anyone and will be going there for future needs.
My fur son Oliver recently received a very serious diagnosis and was referred to Boundary Bay to see an Internal Specialist for further treatment. Oliver has since seen Dr. Hooi several times and I can't say enough about her and all the support staff at Boundary Bay. Oliver went through many tests on his first visit and Dr. Hooi called me after each one answering all my questions and explaining every little detail. Since then she has been monitoring Oliver’s condition and medications very carefully and even corresponding with me through email on her own time. The exceptional compassion and support they have offered doesn’t change Oliver’s diagnosis, but it certainly makes it easier to handle knowing they are less than an hour away and available to help us 24/7!
“Hotspot from swimming in the lake also known as bacterial infection of the hair follicle” My puppy needed care at 3am and was taken in immediately. My overall bill was average for an emergency vet visit. The staff were friendly while I was overly upset and overwhelmed. I needed follow up medication the next day because my puppy was still in great discomfort and pain it was prescribed immediately. Unfortunately not enough hair was removed at the top portion of her back which prolonged the infection and led too late nights and multiple vet visits. She’s on a steroid, pain medication and a spray antibiotic/steroid.
I am very disappointed with my experience at boundary bay hospital. My complaints with the over night staff and the doctor. I arrived at the hospital at 12am this morning. My cat needed a laceration repair. After speaking to the doctor about what route we’re going to take and my financial issues and she quoted me my bill would be a total of $250-300. She then called me about an hour or so later and said my cat would be good to go in 20 minutes. That ended up being an hour and half. When I called in between the overnight office staff showed me a lot of attitude. Dr Ashton called me at 2:45am to pick up my cat in 20. I called 40 minutes later, they said they were in the middle of wrapping up her arm. I call 15 minutes later and one assistant was confused and the other had attitude saying “I just talked to you 5 minutes ago” and that my “cats not ready we have other animals that need triaging”. Very confusing since they said she was already getting wrapped. The bill was doubled to $540 without my knowledge. They said the initial pain meds they gave her around 2am would last until 9-10am. Apparently they had to administer more pain medication by 4am without my consent which ended up being an additional cost of $240-$290. The office staff showed much attitude. Nothing they said made sense. I called them out on these changes. I asked for a receipt. They did come outside with the receipt lowered by $115 with no explanation. Very sad to experience this while your worried about your pet. Owners beware.
Unfortunately we got the news after 2 weeks of appointments and tests that our beautiful dog Stoli (turning 5 next month) was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. It was incredibly heart wrenching to hear that news, especially to hear that chemotherapy rarely helps with this type of cancer and we'd be best to just enjoy our last few days with our sweet boy (the median life expectancy after diagnoses was 9 days, and he had no prior health problems). Of course myself and my entire family had many questions, and my brother who was the one who got the awful phone call about his diagnosis was in shock and couldn't remember much about what the oncologist had told him. Our entire family is so grateful for the emergency staff and the way they handled our sweet boy and were able to get the result we had been waiting for for so long, unfortunately they were not what we wanted to hear. But we are grateful for the work & the attention given to him (Thank you Dr.Ashton). Although we became quite unimpressed when we asked if we (my family) could speak to the oncologist who had originally just spoken to my brother, to go over his results again and just explain to us the chances of survival and if there was absolutely anything else we could do to save his life. Dr.Herrera (the oncologist) was short on the phone and sounded quite annoyed by our questions, even once saying "I'm pretty sure I've already answered these questions". We were all in shock over the thought of losing our sweet dog and it felt like she couldn't even give us 15 minutes of her time. There was no condolences, and no compassion when our family needed it the most. I am not saying that her work was bad or she did anything medically wrong, but the bedside manner of dealing with a family who is losing their baby needs to be worked on. Our hopes is by reading this there is a change in the way she communicates with families who are going through this awful process of knowing their pet who just a month before was hiking everyday and playing in the ocean, will no longer be apart of their lives in a few days. Its a subject that should be handled with compassion. We had to say goodbye to our sweet boy this past week and it was one of the hardest things anyone in my family has experienced. I wish I had a more positive review to write about our interaction.
Extremely happy and thankful for Boundary Bay hospital, they saved my dog. They took the complaints and symptoms seriously after another hospital released my dog with no diagnosis.. Boundary Bay found the problem with proper testing and had her in surgery FAST. The aftercare visits with them have been so easy, their communication was immaculate, I was given perfect/easy instructions on how to take care of my dog at home. I really can't say enough amazing things about this place.
My dog Bella was recently diagnosed with cancer. To find out your beloved companion has cancer is devastating. It is also so full of ups and downs. Recently I rushed my dog to ER due to odd behaviour and the fact she may have a bleeding mass. The staff were so amazing. They were patient, kind, compassionate and caring. Dr White was amazing and provided my dog the best care. She kept me informed and eased my fears. I can’t remember everyone’s name but all the other staff caring for her were exceptional too. Thank you to Dr Robinson for speaking to me while Dr Herrera was away. Letting me know what may be going on. As well, to Dr Herrera thank you so much for giving my girl a fighting chance. I have hope and trust I am getting the best care and treatment for beautiful girl Bella. Thank you to all the staff at Boundary Bay.
They’ve taken such good care of my senior dog with cancer (who had surgery to remove it!). They truly consider the animal’s quality of life when recommending treatment options, which is so important. The care they have for the animals is top notch, and the staff are so lovely to deal with (coming from a very nervous dog owner who calls hourly for updates). Dr. Crawford and the whole team have held our hand/paw throughout the ordeal and have gone above and beyond. They’re well worth the drive, and well worth every penny.
If it wasn't for all the hard working staff at Boundary Bay Veterinary Specialty Hospital we wouldn't have our sweet baby Mollee. What started as a little bump on her paw we first thought was a sliver, after having it removed we were told it was cancer.... our worst fear. The staff quickly reassured us they would do everything they can to keep our little girl with us. Found out it hadn't spread.. phewf! Next was to find out how to get it all removed while hoping to keep her leg. They were able to reconstructive surgery! With a little rearranging of paw pads she was able to keep her leg... YAY!! She's also been getting a vaccine that we hope will help it not to come back in the future from the oncology department. Our dogs are our children and we felt everyone there treated her that way too. We cannot thank all of the staff enough, you literally took the worst time in our lives and made it more bearable. Mollee just finished her last shot for 6 months, they sent her away with a little bandana, toy and a certificate which of course made me tear up. THANK YOU to all Boundary Bay staff we are forever grateful!
So upset that they want you to fill out a form outlining how much you are willing to pay before they even take your baby in. I was basically hysterical upon arrival. Then when I was waiting to see my dog to say goodbye they came in with a debit machine before I could even see my baby. Compassion or money....this place is ALL about the money.
Dear Dr Gordon, Ruby turned 10 years old today! I want to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude to you! Thanks to your excellence, Ruby and I were able to celebrate her 10th year but taking a walk at the beach this morning. Ruby started to decline late into her sixth year and at several points in the last four years, could not walk for more than a few meters before falling over. Today she is 10 years old and can walk for a solid 45 minutes! She drags her right paw and has mild bowel control issues. However, beyond those minor set backs, she is a happy, hungry, independent senior pug lady who still gets the zoomies on a regular basis! So thank you! Not only for your amazing work and skills but for always showing up in a kind and courteous manner and for always taking the time to explain everything and calm down anxious puppy parents! You are the best! Thank you also to your wonderful team who never fail to excel at customer service and warmly welcome their fur patients. Kindest Regards, Elli Klaus
Yes the staff are lovely. But we are completely disappointed with how our dog was completely misdiagnosed. Yes these vets are board certified but most of them lack experience. So beware. Thank god we went to other vets to get other opinions. If we hadn't our dog would be dead. Oh and don't forget the bill. Can you say second mortgage.
We received care for our French Bulldog Stella who ended up having a brain tumour. It was devastating news for us, but the compassion and understanding that Dr. Drury and the whole team had for us was immeasurable. They guided us through the process, explaining and listening to us all the way through our journey...... Thank you so much I highly recommend this hospital for any of the services they provide, in addition to all of the above, they were able to assess and help Stella with her pain quickly as they have all of the necessary equipment on site. Thank you to the whole team at Langley Boundary Bay Veterinary Hospital we truly appreciate how you handled everything in our time of grief.
Boundary Bay saved my Frenchie’s life. He spent three weeks in intensive care and there was a real question whether he would make it. They were so kind and compassionate and didn’t give up on him. Dr. Crawford and Dr. Nilsson did an amazing job, as did the other doctors and technicians who cared for him. They never complained when I called for updates. I can’t recommend them more highly for their ability and client care.
