Once getting to see the doctor, the doctor was really kind and helpful. I wish they had enough staffs. I understand they don't have enough staffs and that staffs are working hard and busy especially during the pandemic. But even before the pandemic, my mom (senior with history of concussion and family history of stroke) had to go to the Emergency there due to headache and we had to wait for over 6+ hours. If I hadn't told a nurse that we waited for over 6 hours, we might still have had to keep waiting on that day. I wondered if they forgot a patient (my mom). I, too, had to go to the emergency once due to the worst stomachache (before I got a family doctor) and I waited for 8 hours. I was in so much pain I couldn't sit straight and vomited a few times, but at that time the nurses/staffs there just walked past me without caring to ask or at least giving pain killer.

Excellent and kind doctors. You may have to wait quite a while to get them though.

Been waiting with my girlfriend for 9 hours shes fainted at least once each hour and thrown up 3 times, including when they gave her tylenol and she never received more. Service is not great for an emergency room considering her condition go to a walk in first and then get a refrence for he er maybe then they'd take it seriously.

I am 3.5 months pregnant and have profuse bleeding. They have had me waiting since 3:45 in the afternoon. More than 5+ hours. People who came in for colds got to go first and I have yet to be called this is actually crazy and should anything have happened to my unborn child because of their lack of care there will be a problem.

Won't go into great detail. B/f came in for severe back pain VIA AMBULANCE a few days ago, and they stuck him in regular triage. So, there we were, 2 1/2 hours, and the nurse was assuring us that "it's gonna be a long wait"!!! Eventually, we just gave up and left with NO TREATMENT. Not reassuring!!!!

PLEASE READ: I dont understand. WHY DO YOU EVEN CALL IT EMERGENCY WHEN YOU CANNOT ASSIST A PATIENT ON TIME! I visited the ER because I am having 104° fever and severe lower back pain which is so painful that I cannot even sit. 811 asked me to visit the ER ASAP. All I need is my back to be treated for which I got the fever in the first place! I understand fever is a symptom of covid. I waited for 8 hours and watched people come after me also get into the doc's room. IMAGINE: when I asked why am I not being seen, their reason was "we need a private room for you because you have covid symptoms, room is unavailable at the moment, we are busy" literally if I were to die there, they would not bother. I am just another human being who is left to die on my own! I rather bear the pain and die with fever at home instead of visiting this hell. Politics and politicians everywhere! Please be ashamed! Some genuine hardworking people are only trying to live.!!

Spent 6hrs there (2:30AM-8:30AM) without getting a call. And it wasn't busy at all. Almost anyone came before and after me went it. Another guy and I gave up and left. I'm going to go to walk-in tomorrow morning. This city needs another hospital with ER. It's been always like this since I remember. In one word: garbage.

Literally the worst decision of my life to come visit here no respect for anyone’s time and care i am waiting for more than 11 hours and still they said it won’t take long. This is my first and last visit to this hospital. I have to miss my work also because of them. City definitely needs new hospital where they can improve waiting time

The folks here are great considering the conditions they often work under. Friendly, helpful, kind and I've never felt rushed.

The staff here is nice but there isn't enough of them! Yesterday they ran out of wheelchairs. We really need to spend more on healthcare. Watching people suffer sux

YOU. PERSON WHO IS GOOGLING THIS PLACE FOR DIRECTIONS, READ THIS! If you have the ability to go to any other hospital, do it. If you have an emergency you literally may die waiting. We are talking 6-12 hours minimum to see a doctor. They don't actually care unless you are physically dying. The things I have seen tonight made me actually cry multiple times for the state of humanity.

I wish google could have zero star rating. I went for emergency and was dying wuth pain but waited for 4 hours to see a doctor and the doctor told me go see clinic doctor that I have been going for 6 months without any improvement.

I thank God for the team of nurses and doctors at the QEII Emergency Department. You may not be able to help my mom, but at least after two years, we have found someone willing to really try. Thank you for that.

Crystal MacLean

13 hours and counting. I can suffer more comfortably at home. This is why I hate this place.

Was here for over 9 hrs with a salivary gland infection. Dr. Openly stated my condition was a mystery and even by the end of the visit couldn't tell me what caused the infection. They forgot about the iv they had put in and after the said I could go home had to ask them to take it out. The nurses were all very polite and answered all of my questions to the best of their ability. While the cause is unsure they did a thorough amount of testing. Have not had any follow up information since.

What a horrible place this is. For a hospital they don't care about you whatsoever. You can walk in almost dying and all they will say is you will have to wait your turn no matter how much pain your in.

Kaushal Sitapara

To slow, if it's a emergency go somewhere else

Mr. Rawal

Please refer to @KYLE's review. Disgusting. People just leave from the waiting room being unable to bare with the pain after waiting for hours.

My 95 year old mother fell and broke her femur, next to hip. We took her to a local hospital in the area where she lived and the doctor on call there suggested we leave it alone (she would need a full hip replacement and too hard on a woman her age). They suggested we simply fill her full of morphine and let her slip away. We took her to QEII for their thoughts. They felt the femur should be nailed/pinned for optimal comfort. The operation was a complete success. She made it through the surgery and was actually able to walk with assistance on the first day....without much pain! Two very different possible outcomes. My sister and I were so very thankful for the QEII ortho team that night. Obviously every life counts to them. No matter how old.

The QE2 refused to help Kai Matthew's who at the time had a back ache, headache and a fever of 105 F, unaware he was dying from meningitis. They did a covid test in the ER despite he got a negative covid test result the day prior, and told him they won't help him until this covid test came back negative and to go home. Over twelve hours had passed as his symptoms only got worse and he had developed a purple rash on his body. They then called 911 and the paramedics said they couldn't take him to the ER until his covid results came back. They then forced him to wait in the back of a car while his head and spine were agonizing him and then the nurse told them they think he has meningitis and to come in, but by then his brain was swelling and it was too late. Shameful and heartbreaking ????

I've been seen here a couple of times for reasons that could have been avoided, and a couple of times for accidents. I got fixed up and released. Pretty friendly staff, considering what they put up with sometimes.

Imagine you have cancer, you're in a life threatening situation and you have to wait for 2+ hours to just see a doctor in the emergency room (not even talking about any action taken). We are still waiting... The politicians responsbile for this disaster should be voted out of office and they should be put under public investigation for putting the life of patients at risk (or worse). Respect for the medical staff who goes through hell here.

13 hours and counting to see a doctor whole night could not sleep and eat they don’t give any idea of how much time will be taken and i was good at home but coming here made me sick now i am shivering and getting a headache and jo one is here to look after. Waiting waiting waiting worst hospital service ever.. ????????????

Waited to see a doctor for 9 hours. Spent a total of 12 hours here. You can see a doctor quicker if you go to a walk in clinic than coming here. What's worse is that people that came after me got to see a doctor before me and they did not seem to have worse symptoms than I did. Only one nurse showed any empathy towards me, after I almost gave up on waiting. No one should be made to wait in an emergency unit for 12 hours. That's inhumane. Things need to be improved. This is so horrible. I feel much sicker now than how I felt when I came initially. I wish I could give this a -minus infinity rating.

My husband has been sick for months and has lost a lot of weight. Temp up and down and very nautilus and clammy. His doc cAlled him Tonight and told him to go to emerg to get a scan of his stomach as he thinks it's probably an infection and this was a faster way to get a cat scan. Something to do with blood tests that a normal number is 6 and his is 40. He has been there since around 7:30 and still has not even been seen at all or even taken into a triage room. It's not crazy busy there now. Come on someone! Help him out!

I was pretty sure I had a broken ankle ( and I did ) I was placed in a waiting room with about 30 other people who had already been there for about 6 hours ....... my injured foot was not elevated or on ice.( it was swollen bruised and painful ) ......I had no water and no food and my husband was not allowed to come in to bring me any .....I couldn't even get to the bathroom as I was unable to weight bear on my foot and there was no one around to help me. not one person was called to be seen the entire two hours I was there. I could not stay there all night waiting to see a doctor under those conditions. Stayed for a couple hours and left returning to my hotel room where I could rest comfortably with my foot elevated and on ice. returned to my home province the next day where I was seen, x-rayed, diagnosed and treated within a couple hours at a local hospital. If they are going to have people waiting for such long hours they should have an LPN come through every hour just to make sure everyone is OK, provide some water at the very least and assist those who might need to go to BR etc.

I attended Emerg May 20/21 2020. Dr. Murphy, RN Tammy, Charlotte, and Jasmine took care of me with kindness and concern for "My" concerns. Dr. Murphy used her whole bag of tolls and deductive powers to get to the real root of my problems and picked the menu to get me on my way. The nurses did the rest and made the plan work. Tammy did her darndest to get the ball rolling and her pleasant approach set me at easy. Charlotte worked the night and gave me the piece of mind to sleep because I knew she had my back. Jasmine was last to put her seal on the fait accomplis. She wasn't letting me go until I passed her tests. Since she was last, I'd like to reassure her and the personable young fellow who pushed me to the door that my wife wasn't long arriving to meet me. My wife has taken over on my road to recovery. BZ to all. (That's well done in Navy Parlance)

The Nurses, Doctor and Triage Nurses were excellent, thank you. The wait time of 13 hours 50 minutes is why the low rating. The NS medical system is understaffed and overworked. Nurses and Doctors are treated poorly in NS and it almost always reflects on quality of care for patients. This time was surprisingly a good helpful visit.

Christopher O'Neil

The staff at this ER are very condescending and rude. They seem to treat everyone that way by what I observed. They also seem to have a sense of entitlement, they seem to be just there for a pay cheque, as they take their time. Also I find one of their policies down right hypocritical. A lot of the staff there act very sketchy. There are signs that say don't take pictures of staff or patients. I understand the patients privacy should be respected but the staff at the hospital have no expectation of privacy while they do their jobs in a public place. They shouldn't have the privacy to abuse people. Attached is the sign in the ER I just went in there to take that pic but chances are I'll never go back because the people who work there are sinister.

10 hour wait to see a dr.. I fainted in the exam room due to pain I was suffering and when the nurse and dr. came back in, they laid me down for about 3 minutes, asked if I was okay, took my blood pressure, I told them the back of my head really hurt and had a lump, then they leave and the nurse comes back in with a small card with the address of a different hospital { I had to see an eye dr.}, then she said I had to be driven there and left the room. I never saw her or the dr. again, no x-ray, I don't think they made a note of me fainting due to the pain, falling or hitting my head. What BS is that? Yes they're super busy all of the time but this is inexcusable. A lawyer could make his career on a case like this. I'm just dumbfounded at the pathetic care by that dr. and nurse. I could have collapsed in the street or something. Shame on them both!

Ava Hamilton

so many people gave this emergency room a horrible rating, but I had an amazing experience. I only waited about two hours in the waiting room, and my nurse was so amazing. She explained everything in detail, and she was just so caring. my doctor was also one of the most amazing doctors ever, he performed a lot of tests to figure out what was going on and gave me the medication and some fluids which I really needed. He was also so kind and explained everything in detail to me and my mom. You could tell he really cares about his patients and wants them to feel better. I didn’ catch my nurses name, but she had black and white hair it was really cool. My doctors name was Dr. Brett Barro and he was an amazing! thank you QE2 emergency.
