Contrary to other reviews, we had an excellent experience with this hospital, start to finish. There were a few things, but I am happy to tell you about the positives first! My son fell in the terrain park in Bromont, QC. I speak French, but my son does not. He broke his radius (forearm bone) badly (and required surgery). 1. Emerge visit. We were greeted with a compassionate woman who helped us get inside. She was kind and caring. We waited for about 20- 30 minutes for triage. This was quick and he was sent back to the doctor immediately. He was given pain meds within 15 minutes as he was in significant pain. Dr. Deschenes was amazing. He spoke English to us, as did any other staff who were able. Those who struggled, also tried, although my French is good... they wanted to make sure my son was in the know. He had x-rays, had his arm reset (with a team of docs to support the induced sleep), and then was seen by an orthopedic surgeon within the hour. He also spoke English to my son. He was given a Covid test, prescription, and had a follow up plan for surgery 2 days later (this is in the HEIGHT of Covid/ Omicron). 2. Surgery- My child was supported by some wonderful nurses in the day-surgery area. Katherine was AMAZING. She spoke English as well, and although not everyone did, they tried their best to ensure I knew exactly what was going on at all times. My son indicated the staff were SO great. Supportive, caring, efficient, communicative. Everyone went out of their way to ensure we were taken care of. The surgeon was exceptional, explained everything to me (in English) and said the surgery was perfect. I will take that! Discharge was efficient, pain med prescription was faxed to the pharmacy by our hotel, and I was even taken personally to Radiology to get the CD of images for the doctors in Ontario. Merci Drs. Rodrigos (father and son team). There were never any issues with OHIP or coverage, nothing was difficult, except ONE interaction I could have done without. Inscription/ Registration: we had to get him a hospital card and the woman in the office at the time was rude, curt, and not helpful AT ALL. It was as though she watched my child writhe in pain, delay registration because she was 'changing shifts', but continued to tell stories and laugh behind the counter... I just wanted to get my son to the exam room for his meds. She did not help me find the room, she just looked at me and spoke French as fast as she could... looked at me like I was an issue. After finding where to go (because of a very helpful person that works somewhere in there), I went back to register my child, and the new woman (Blond), was lovely and helpful. She did not speak English well, but was slow and patient as we worked through the process. Other than that, we had a fantastic experience, and if I had to go back to a hospital (It will happen based on my kids), I will go back to l'Hopital Granby. Had to give my review. Yes this is not the best hospital in the world. I mean canada isn't first in medical care anyway. But no they do speak english. Maybe if you rest respectful they will understand you more. Remember you are in a french province. Not everybody ia fully fluent in english. And for the person who said they told her that there was 8h to wait. Sorry to tell you but yeah that's how it works if somebody enters and his state is worst then yours. You will be delayed. If something happens on one of the upper floors and they need more staff. Well you will be delayed. I write this while i'm currently in the hospital. Around be theres people with broken limbs, sick childs, elders with unknown issues. And you know what I know I may wait 16h before I see a doctor. Because when I see people around me. I KNOW I'm in better condition then most. But still I gotta wait and be patient if I want my issues to be resolved.

Worst hospital I have ever been to. Everything is in French and all the staff refused to speak English to me. I waited in a line-up for 15 minutes to pay for my parking only to find out that I needed to have my plate number. The receptionist did not know the word "Ultrasound". I tried to explain and she sent me to another place with another line where I was told to take a number when I got to the front, then I was told I was again I was in the wrong place. When I finally got to the ultrasound lab, the technician again spoke no English and only had health forms in French. She didn't say anything in English while going through the forms with me and spoke not a word during the 30 minute scan. It was very uncomfortable and I was a little stressed and word of assurance would have gone a long way. So steer clear of this hospital. I'm sure the hospital staff won't read this as they probably see it is in English and will ignore it. Way to make us feel like foreigners in our own country. Jerks!

My family is English speaking and not one had an issue with it. They ALL did their best to speak to us in english. They did not turn their backs on my father-in-law because he was old (92). The worst hospital in the world. Checked in at 2pm was told waiting time would be as much as 6 to 8 hrs. Asked reception after 8hrs and was told 4 people ahead of me. After 10 hrs asked again new receptionist was told a lot of people ahead of me . Asked how much longer and she said she didnt know and coyldnt tell me but if i leave i start over from the beginning. Waited 16 hrs and told specilist would not be in for 5 more hrs . Ended by going to St marys in Montreal. Staff at this hospital Really don't care

Un homme avec un doigt cassé demande gentiment de la glace et une petite fille vomit par terre et la maman a besoin de papier et la dame ne cesse de répéter "je ne peux rien y faire" en voulant dire que elle s'en fou complètement. Pour ma part, elle me laisse rentré pour un problème cardiaque accompagné de mon conjoint et 5h plus tard elle décide daller chercher l'agent de sécurité pour nous intimidé et dire que mon conjoint doit quitter les lieux même apres avoir eu la permission de l'infirmière du triage. Tandis que plus loin il y avait 2 couples de personnes plus âgées mais eux c'était correct. Le personnel de l'acceuil à l'urgence sont là pour le salaire et pour contrôler les gens pas pour les aider.
