Came tonight with my 10 months old baby boy. He had fever and was restless. They Held us 3 hours in the Emergency waiting room. Then asked us to come inside the medical room. Held us another 1 hour just for a doctor come and visit my son. So terrible, isn’t it? This is the quality of our medical care? I truly believe the physician association in Canada have such a great lobby in the country which does not let more university to offer medical science. they even dont accept any sort of foreign top ranked medical degrees from tons of new comers coming from other countries with a MD degree and require them to spend another 4-5 years before be able to practice! I wish we had better health program than this funny universal health program.
I went to ER for pain in my stomach. The wait time before I see a doctor was about 11 hours. After some tests and diagnosis, I was sent for emergency surgery. Before the surgery, I was in constant pain and it was difficult to get some attention from the nurses since they were super busy all the time. However, I could tell that they were doing their best, considering the resources they had. Since I was in pain I forgot the name of a very kind and caring nurse that took care of me during that time. She was a real lifesaver. The surgery went smooth and the Drs and nurses were super kind and helpful. I must thank Pam and Karen two of my nurses after my surgery. In summary, the staffs are awesome. I just wish the hospital had more comfortable arrangements in their waiting area. Even after I was admitted to ER and the Dr saw me, I had to wait in some uncomfortable chairs for about another 12 hours in pain.
Needed stitches on a saturday night, I was in and out in 2 hours. Shout out to those nice medical people in section D of the emergency wing.
The wait in emerg was long. But that is par for the course no matter where you go. As far as hospitals go, I think it is a great place. Doctors and nurses and support staff do all they can to treat people.
A+
Quick, efficient and cordial staff, amazing doctors and state of the art facilities.
This was my first ever emergency room visit. Everyone here from the triage nurse to the registration person to the doctor who saw me and the nurse who fit me for my knee brace were incredibly professional, kind and polite. Everyone introduced themselves, took the time to answer all my questions and made me feel cared for. I was in and out in two hours and 10 minutes.
I just delivered my 3rd child there 2.5 weeks ago (had my other 2 at the General Hospital) and it was a great experience as compared to the General. The nurses and doctors at the Queensway are very helpful, kind, and compassionate. They work efficiently with one another and are very thorough with making sure everything is up to date for their patients. Very consistent with reminders for meds, water, meals, and simply just ensuring that you’re comfortable - making sure your pillows are in good positions, sheets are changed when needed and toiletries are available if you run out. They also ask for your permission before sending a bunch of students into the room while/during delivery (I had a bad experience with that at the General - no consent was given and I just felt violated). Overall, I would definitely highly recommend delivering at the Queensway Carleton Hospital.
A very nice hospital. Hard to navigate around; got lost a few times! The parking is all around the place. The hospital itself is a bit confusing to navigate around. They need an app to help you navigate. A study could be done and I bet there could be major improvements done to the signage around the place to help people figure out where to go.
Our daughter was born here. Amazed with the service offered at Birth Centre. Dedicated and Best nursing services. Knowledgeable doctors too.
I received great care from both the ambulance paramedic staff and the emergency room staff! Fell in love with one of the nurses taking care of me, she was (IS) so beautiful!
The woman at the emergency desk is one of the most abrasive and confrontational people I have ever met. I wouldnt be writing this if I hadn’t seen an abundance of reviews for the same person. I understand that everyone has bad days but on multiple occasions I have talked to this employee and Was made to feel like my concern for the health of me or my wife was so out of the range of reason that I was wasting her time. You can say “she doesnt need to be nice to do her job correctly” but I would hope that a hospital could see that someone in her position should be able to show compassion, and not bring personal issues into their work. Her position is important for anyone seeking emergency care, and I can honestly say I think twice about coming to queensway carleton because im afraid of having another interaction with this woman where i felt like ive made a mistake asking for urgent care. Even though it is the closest hospital to me, I would rather take that extra 10 minutes to go to another hospital. The director of care should seriously consider a personnel change.
Went to emergency because I had very loud white noise in my head and couldn't hear on the left side clearly. After 4.5 hours of waiting emergency doctor told me that this usually goes away by itself and I can go home. I asked if I could get any prescription - she gave me amoxicillin antibiotics for 10 days. After 2 weeks I stated having very sharp pain in my ear and still couldn't hear well. White noise was killing me. Pain was very sharp, decided to go to emergency again. 4 hours of waiting again. Emergency doctor told me that I should take anti-inflammatory pills and prescribed the ear drops. She also told me she would refer me to the ENT specialist. The next day after the last visit the pain got much worse and became intolerable. Couldn't sleep whole night, my wife took me to hospital again (I was not able to drive because of the pain). New emergency doctor told me she has no idea what is the cause of the pain. She told me that ear drops prescribed before are not going to help in my case. She prescribed me new antibiotics and told me that that was so much she could do for me. She refused to call ENT specialist on call, explaining that he will not come because of this. The next day I called the ENT specialist office J.P. Souaid and they have told me they can see me in 2 month. I am legitimately screwed. My diet consists of Ibuprofen and Tylenol. I am thinking about traveling somewhere to get qualified help because this "free" healthcare is just a bizarre sh*t show.
Worst service ever at er. Wait time is too long even you are suffering from worst pain. Wait time 11 to 12 hours they don't care make sure bring your food and water with you incase you like to wait that long.
Big thanks to Scott for driving me everywhere in a wheel chair. Thanks to the nurses in pre-op and Op room. Thanks to Dr. Proudlove and Dr. Goguen for working their magic. Hats off to the QCH for making this a positive experience. Keep up the great work. I am very greatful for everything.
The physicians in this ER are unprofessional and arrogant, they didn't listen to patient's real feeling, just quickly diagnose and let them leave without doing any necessary exam. If you have an urgent issue, GO TO ANOTHER HOSPITAL. My mom got stuck by a big fishbone on May 27th, but they found it on June 1st after we visit the emergency 3 times, which is 4 days after, while my mom started having fever and throat swelled. In the first two times, the ER physicians insisted she just had a throat injury and does not need more exam, even though we repeatedly said she felt extreme pain and there must be something in her throat. Until the 3rd time, when the CT result shown there is a big piece of fish bone in her esophagus they start give her treatment. Unfortunately, the fish bone had slid lower, where is close to the air tube. The QCH surgeon failed to take it out by endoscope, then they transferred my mom to general hospital thoracic did another surgery. During all this time, she was totally anesthetic and we can't visit her due to Covid policy. QCH even charged us one day ICU for her 2 hours' stay before transfering. All our families are disappointed and feel angry about the ER physicians' misdiagnose and misleading. If they do the right exam in the beginning, my mom won't suffer from the pain, and our family won't go through a horrible week. The surgerion said if she is treated 1 week later, it's very possible they need to open her chest if that fish bone get into the respiratory system. Finally, my mother had a successful treatment in general hospital and came back home after staying in hospital for 3 days. We are really appreciate the specialists and surgeons who helped my mom, however deeply complaint these general physicians in the ER!
ER nurses at night were very very unprofessional, rude and mean people!! I have no idea how they allowed to work there!! also the result were very late, after several calls they said no calls from us means all good! (and I was in real bad situation obviously smth wrong) then after 3 days of suffering I was barely able to go to my GP and he prescribed medication for me right away THEN after another 3 days (total of 6 days of delay) I got a call from the hospital they said we got ur tests and the doctor would like to prescribe smth for you!!!!

Terrible experience with the parking security. The black male in his 50s approached my vehicle without a mask on, and when I asked him to put his mask on I was demanded to leave the property. Disappointing experience. They should worry about the police blocking the crosswalk and not allowing the elderly and women with strollers to safely cross and get over the curb.
I cannot believe this is how lethargic a hospital's EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT can be... more than 10 hours of waiting for whole night and they are letting those patients move in who came in the morning 7 o clock... they would loose to a snail in a turtle race.. Do not ever attempt to go this hospital.. after numerous attempts to let them know about my bleeding for whole night they still didnt care and didnt even do any first aid procedures all night I had one dirty napkin to keep my wounds clear...if the hospital officials are reading to this tell me is this how you treat your patients..? There are videos on screen in the hospital we dont tolerate violence but what about violation of my personal right to first aid..? I am never coming back to this hospital and would recommend others to do so...
Told to show up an hour early for blood work for scheduled day surgery. Ended up not needed. Now past an hour late for scheduled day surgery. That's over 2 hours of my time wasted. Running a parking lot business? This isn't the first scheduled day surgery that has going this way. Disappointed.
The ER is poorly organized. It has been so for years now and the management does nothing to resolve it. ER Patients though being not too many (appx.15) have to wait over 9 hours to be seen. It feels like they have to maintajn have certain amount of patients at the ER to justify the amount of staff and funding. It is not because the ER is overcrowded but poor or might be a fraudulent management.
Great Hospital
I came in because I was very worried I might attempt suicide. Everyone I spoke to saw me in a fit of tears when I'd try to discuss what was going on. They gave me an Ativan, took me to a waitingroom and told me to wait there. NOBODY CAME TO SEE ME AFTER. I waited three hours and, to show just how little they were keeping an eye on a suicidal patient, I got up and left without anyone noticing. I could also hear nurses discussing how inconvenient suicidal people are directly outside my room, which seems very unprofessional.
Fastest ER in Ottawa. Not a high level trauma centre, but a great place to go for a broken nose.
My two-year-old son jammed something in his ear, so I brought him here as it’s the closest hospital to home. The people in Emergency were absolutely fantastic. The triage nurse was kind and gentle with him while the nice nurse at the registration desk gave him some Minion stickers to play with. While we waited my son and I played with his Hot Wheel cars and the decent hospital wifi allowed me to keep my wife (who was at home with our newest baby) updated. The doctor was a very kind and professional woman who was able to treat my son thoroughly and even got him to chuckle a bit. If I had to complain about anything it would be that the hospital only had one doctor working Emergency, which puts a lot of strain on the doctor and nursing staff as well as the patients. Otherwise the hospital is clean, spacious, modern and staffed by friendly and helpful professionals!
Not very impressed with the service. I already knew what my treatment was going to be prior to entering the hospital but at the sanity of my family I went in anyway. I’m sitting there with what seems like forever. I’m urged by my family to go and ask them when it is my turn to be called. I ask and the lady rudely tells me that there are already patients before me and that I should just wait. I’m already in pain so I just sit because I was already there for 3 hours. A whole two new groups of people come in and out of the waiting room. I get it other people are in pain and other people need assistance more than I, completely understandable. Finally after an hour or two plus they call me in to sit in ANOTHER waiting room. The only good thing about this one was the nice conversation I had with the other patients (hence the two stars and not one). After a few more minutes I’m called into the room to get a diagnosis. The doctor took a stethoscope to my chest and asked me questions. I told her how my pain worsened and that it really hurt. However that didn’t matter because she just explained what I could have had. No test no nothing. I sat there for hours on end only to be told to go home, take meds and get rest. Something I could have told myself (and did) to do. Overall one of the worst experiences ever and I was already in pain so it made it even worse.
This hospital rates an AVOID. All the criticism you see in this service regarding them is correct. Their ER is an abomination. Go elsewhere. As for the hospital care, it needs work.
Delivered my first baby at the queensway. Absolutely amazing service from stepping into the door to the next day I walked out. The nurses were amazing, the anastiologist, delivery doctor ... hats off to all of you. I have nothing but many positives to say.
My dad rushed me in to emergency and I got help immediately. Great nurses!
A BIG thanks for all the hardworking doctors and nurses for taking care of my sister.
Definitely the worst hospital in Ottawa ❤️
Long wait, but they healed me. Yet again, it was a really really long wait. In terms of an average wait time, I was told it would be 9-14 hours. They didn't lie.
Hit or miss. Some of the nurses/doctors are very kind and helpful, wait time isn't that bad if you're going in with a real emergency (longest I've waited was 6 hours) However, the two bad experiences I've had are enough for the 1 star rating. I saw a doctor in the ER in September of 2018 because I couldn't stop having panic attacks. They referred me to the outpatient psychologist and told me it would be 2-3 weeks to see them and I would get a call. I never got one. I called them myself to remind them and was told it was going to be 4 months. 4 months later I called, and they told me they had tried to reach me but never got ahold of me. I informed the triage nurse that couldn't be possible since even a missed call would show up in my call log and I had nothing. The triage nurse was very rude and told me it would be a 6 month wait. Since then, I have sought care elsewhere and am getting my panic attacks under control but I still have never received a call from them. That's extremely unprofessional. Second instance, I brought my boyfriend in with leg pain and they did some xrays to determine the problem. The doctor was extremely rude and unhelpful, and even told my boyfriend that she already knew the problem but she "had to look at it otherwise they don't pay me". By they does she mean the taxpayers that were sitting right in front of her looking for medical assistance? Very few of the doctors and nurses care much for the patients, we are treated more like customers that need to be rushed out the door as quickly as possible. If you are looking for compassionate care everytime you see a doctor, this is not the place.
The main entrance reception here has absolutely no idea what they're doing. They sent my 40 week pregnant wife to wait for over 3 hours in the emergency department while all along she was expected in the birthing unit, which she told them, but they asked her to go to emergency. Train your staff better. A pregnant woman who is not in any sort of crisis should be directed needless to say to a BIRTHING UNIT.
Be prepared to wait an eternity.
Excellent and quick response from Natasha and Kim in medical records. Thanks guys!
smells weird in there
You can expect a wait at any hospital or doctor office visit but the staff in this place move as fast as stalagmites form. Never had a good experience personally I would head to the Civic hospital or possibly to an out of town medical facility if I had the choice.
Took good care but was very slow.
My wife went there with serious chest pain. Asked us to wait for registration. Two hours later, we check and are told that they mistakenly canceled. Go figure :(
Bery rude on calls
Our child as born here and I can't say enough about this place. Wonderful people everywhere you go. We've also used their Emergency a few times, and I find it to be the fastest one in the city.
You do see many complaints on here, however many people seem to forget how the triage system works and the fact wait times are a national issue...these things they have no control over. I have been here twice, first time I waited 6 hours to be seen due to a sprained ankle which is non life threatening and understand the wait. Second time, I entered with what seemed to be septic symptoms and was told I'd be brought right in which I was. Both times the ER nursing staff and team of doctors were great. Especially now with the Pandemic they seem to be working extra hard, and deserve some gratitude
I went yesterday and waited for 6 hours and left without seeing a doctor, The problem from my point of view that they have a major issue in the process and the flow.
Worst hospital ever. The staff was mean and did not care for the patients. Left feeling worst than when I came in. Would not go again even if I was on the verge of dying.
First time I've ever been to the ER. Waited for 8 hours, and never seen a doctor. Got up and left once I hit the 8 hour mark. Majority of nurses were rude.
Friendly and organized staff :) Tips -Invest in a shared parking card for the family, it's cheaper -The store usually has what you forgot -Ask the amazing doctors/ nurses for help, don't be shy -If you like Tims Hortons you are in luck. If you don't, remember snacks Bonus There are volunteers there who are super kind and give away crocheted/knitted mittens and hats for newborns. So sweet.
Updates: I've had to go to the emergency couple of times during the pandemic and the way how nurses & doctors helped me out made me change my rating and update my review. Thank you for taking people's feedback into account and making positive changes. ‐----‐------------------------------------------------------------ Old feedback The nurse at the registration desk was very rude to me, she started negatively by saying as a person with fever I don't need a wheelchair as other people with broken leg would use them but I told her that I have no energy to walk or I would pass out ... then she checked me up unpleasantly, each time saying you don't have any symptoms... am I crazy to come to the hospital if I don't have any symptoms? After 5 hours of waiting time the doctor came, did her check ups and said this is a virus you have to rest , no prescription ... the day after I woke up with pain and fever again , went to a walking clinic and I was treated better by getting a prescription and I'm feeling much better after using the medications. As a patient in pain I need a kind environment not a tense one ...
Friendly staff and comfortable waiting rooms. EDIT Oct 16, 2019- Came back for an MRI late at night. Was comfortable and quick. In and out under 10 minutes.
Visited the wound clinic today - wonderful staff and doctor. So impressed
Bad experience in ER... Very long waiting times, lots of paper pushers, not enough medical staff, no way to know for how long you will be stuck in there just waiting... All info you get is that "people could wait for many, many hours..." This is just plainly stupid. No wonder there are so many signs for patients to "be respectful", you could lose it in here...
(Translated) Excellent service, courteous, professional and prompt. They even found a nurse who speaks French, so that my daughter understands and feels confident because she does not yet speak English. Plus, we haven't received our Ontario maps yet but, no discussion, they took our Quebec maps and entered our info from here. Also there are OC Transpo buses that drop you off directly in front of the hospital. You will also find a Tim Hortons inside the hospital.
This hospital has got to be the fastest « get in » from wait room. With that being said, they care more about rushing you through to get to their next four patients. I suffer from chronic kidney infections and kidney stones. I was in SEVERE pain, they gave me anti biotics which is protocol and absolut’ey no assistance with the pain. Left to sit in a waiting room while I could hardly move. I asked for a blanket, they told md to get up myself and get it. The nurse I was assigned was too busy making fun of a patient who had been admitted for mental health making a scene. Unproffesional and absolutley rude. She didnt try to relax me as I was having a panic attack due to pain in kidney and she damaged my nerve trying to draw blood. Its been nearly a week and I cant move my arm without an electric shock that i felt when she did it. Now, before you think this is a biased opinion, i have had care at all hospitals in Ottawa and Càlgary and my favourite being the Rocky view from Calgary. I was addmitted in rocky view many times and that hospital shows amazing staff. Coming to queensway is an absolutle mess. I feel I wasnt taken care of the way I should have been and HAVE been taken care of before by different hospital staff. Says alot to me.
Horrible treatment to elderly patients do not have surgery in this hospital. Zero care New management is needed
Had to come here one time and I ended up OK
I had to go into the ER and visit the skin and soft tissue infectious disease clinic recently. My experience from start to finish was amazing. I felt like I was the only patient there and all staff were knowledgeable & professional. The infections disease clinic doctor was amazing and the nurse Karen was just amazing- she was so caring. Thanks for the amazing care!
I have been waiting to see a doctor in ER for more than 11 hours now... It is 5:50 in the morning. I am after my ski accident yesterday. Administrative stuff is will not treat you as patient but as a prisoners.
After explaing to the receptionist that my 6 year old younger brother has had a random cough from a couple of days before a stomach ache as of two days ago and how he hasn't been able to eat or drink anything without vomiting AND having diarrhea as of yesterday she proceeds to respond with oh is that it, I see and rolls her eyes while telling me to take a seat. Even if by chance I am overeati g in bringing him here she should at least be able to due her job without the snark.
Brought in my dad who had shortness of breath, fever , and a catheter . He has been there for beyond 6 hours . He was there last night as well, and got home at 3 am.
As a trans person, expect to be deadnamed and misgendered at this hospital. I'm a trans woman who was in for a suspected clot. While it's good that the receptionist asked for my preferred name, only one nurse of three used it and instead used my deadname. Furthermore, I read the report (snippets attached) by Dr. Bhaskar Gopalan after the visit and I'm constantly misgendered in it despite it being mentioned therein several times that I'm transitioning. I originally rated two stars before I became aware of this. Honestly just really clumsy work. The staff at this hospital desperately need sensitivity training to ensure that this doesn't happen again. I can only imagine how utterly demoralizing this would be to someone in a worse headspace.
I walked into the ER.. they did the covid screening, registration, intake, blood pressure and pulse, 4 vials of blood, urine sample, rectal exam, and discharge in 57 minutes.. I thought I might be there half the night waiting for things to happen and then not be able to make it to work tomorrow, but no, in and out in less than an hour ???????? I got the full results of the blood tests and urine sample the next day online.
The doctors and staff are fair. However, the wait time is out of control. Canada’s health care system is in serious trouble
Excellent care & staff. Best hospital in the Ottawa - Carleton region. Considering the Canadian Governments poorly funds our health system, the QCH manages to operate effectively. If you are looking for no wait time in ER, pristine conditions, absolute accurate diagnosis & flawless treatment & care, TOO BAD, IT DOES NOT EXIST.
First visit and the staff went out of their way to help me. Having lived in the GTA for 40 years and using their medical facilities l was very impressed with the Queensway Carleton.Neil M.
We were at the emergency for about 3.5 hours! Overall happy with their service. Parking $14. Staffs and doctor were friendly and helpful.
Child Birth Unit - Amazing delivery experience at QCH. My wife was admitted to QCH early on in the pregnancy for 5 days in the birth unit through ER by Dr. Beshara. The experience was very positive at which point we decided to deliver here and also take on Dr. Beshara as her OBGYN. It's just over 2 weeks since we received our baby girl and we are both extremely happy with our decision. The staff at the birth unit in this hospital are phenomenal, we have come across different doctors and a number of nurses and can honestly say everybody is super professional and caring. There are a number of nurses that even go above and beyond in their care, sharing personal experiences or general tips that we needed as first time parents, from breastfeeding, bathing, to support from a lactation consultant. Dr. Beshara was seeing my wife for 41 weeks, he was amazing. He provided excellent professional advise, was always willing to listen to our concerns and address them accordingly. My wife had a slightly high risk pregnancy, and Dr. Beshara did everything possible to ensure we were comforted and confident in our choices and the progress of the pregnancy. In the delivery room we spent ~ 24 hours, we were accompanied by two amazing nurses (Kimberly first 12 hours, Kelly following 12 hours). Both of them took our experience to the next level, they were extremely caring and were available for their entire shifts to make my wife's experience as positive as possible. Throughout the 24 hours my wife and the baby were being monitored with medications continuously monitored and adjusted to make sure she is in the optimal state when it was time to deliver. Kelly had the hard task of actually being involved in the delivery process and she did an awesome job. She was extremely supportive and caring. Dr. Honey was the attending physician for the delivery and she was wonderful. At a point where my wife was most vulnerable and exhausted, Dr. Honey was able to calmly and professionally put my wife at ease and helped her deliver the baby safely. The combination of the highly qualified professionals working in this hospital, in addition to the facilities of the birth unit makes this a great hospital to delivery in, we would recommend it in a heart beat.
Waiting time was long ...
I went to the Cardio Unit for Sleep Test and arrived 40 min late. One of the staff took my health card and requested me to wait then he came back to me and told me that I was "One hour" late thus we couldn't take you in!!!! Needless to say, his approach was rude and tried to convince me that I was 1h late not 40 min. He didn't inform me whether my appointment would be re-scheduled not any other details! Hmmm, this was my first time to know that the health system in Ottawa is so precise in welcoming patients!!! As far as I remember, I was brought to one of the hospitals by ambulance suffering severe kidney pain and had been left in the corridor for 4 hours before moving me to a proper bed!!
Know this hospital from Homeland
Come here if you want to die. That’s how incompetent their emergency is 4hrs wait with a crying infant and I’m told this is standard? Rubbish
The hospital staff were not rude or disrespectful to us but we went in to the emergency at midnight with a toddler (abdominal pain, fever, vomiting) on Victoria day (a holiday Monday), waited until 6am and then just left home because the Dr was still not available. We were waiting in the exam room (where the Dr usually sees you) for over an hour and the nurses (there were a few around) had no idea when the Dr would actually show up. Overheard from the nurses too that "this is ridiculous" (about amount of patients waiting in ER) but "not as bad as other holiday Mondays", so this was a 'normal' occurrence for Queensway Carlton Hospital after all. Their ER department definitely needs some restructuring and an increased # of Drs on duty to actually be called an 'emergency' department, it does not deserve that name at the moment. If you are sick on a holiday in Ottawa, go to another hospital.
EXTREMELY SLOW MOVING EMPLOYEES IN EMERGENCY. HAVE BEEN WAITING 12 HOURS AND COUNTING.
Would give 4.5 stars out of 5 if I could. Although the wait time was long (5 hours for a split lip, no stranger to wait times in Canada), the care was done quickly and effectively. People need to understand how triage works before complaining on wait times and priorities. Witnessed a lady (small dog bite) lose her mind because a man being wheeled in a gurney (from an ambulance, possibly heart related) was rushed ahead of her. Also big kudos to the nurses and doctors in the NICU, very professional.
The wait times can be excessive, but I've never experienced the level of rudeness seen in many of the other reviews listed here. Understand however, that the QCH is a Private hospital, and is an example of the care expected by privatized care. The other hospitals in Ottawa, which are public hospitals, are rated much better. Something to consider, as the general population insists that private care is better and are pushing for more hospitals to be privatized like this one. (The new General Hospital is supposedly moving to the same Privatized model.) As proven in this case, Private does not mean better, despite the propaganda we are fed from our friends in the south.
Worst hospital i’ve ever been to. Wait times were absolutely ridiculous and every nurse I talked to, talked to me with the biggest attitude and negative demeanour. You truly will feel worse leaving that place than how you felt when you initially got there. Will not return. Would rather suffer than come here.
I've had day surgery twice. As recent as Saturday, September 26,the admitting staff, my nurses and my doctors were great. Excellent care.
great place
They saved my life when I was in septic shock. Awesome hospital.
I gave birth here and that experience was excellent, the staff were all so friendly on that occasion. However, my second pregnancy I came in screaming unable to stand anymore, unsure of what death feels like but this felt pretty close I could imagine. Had a nurse tell me it was most likely a miscarriage and I was being dramatic about the pain level. They kept shooting me up with morphine every hour or so in the waiting room and were taking seniors whining over sore wrists over me... several other patients around me even told the nurses to take me before them but they weren't listening. Well 4 hours of severe pain later, I get an ultrasound and turns out I was pregnant in my f*****g fallopian tube and it had ruptured and I was mere hours away from internally bleeding to death. Ended up rushed into emergency surgery immediately. Not even an apology from the staff here for being so ignorant. So, if you want to be left for dead while seniors with minor problems are being put before you... this would be the place to go!
Came in originally with breathing issues in November and was given a puffer , in December I returned as I was still having difficulty breathing, I waited over 3 hours , saw 2 doctors pick up my file, put it back in the envelope holder on the wall and leave. I finally decided to leave and go to the Civic, was admitted within 30 minutes there, this was prior to Covid. The puffer apparently made my heart beat faster, I found out at the civic I was having heart failure, despite being checked by the admitting nurse at the Queensway, I still waited over 3 hours and this was with 3 people in the waiting room. This Hospital is a joke and administrators there should be ashamed. I don't think they know what they're doing there. DO NOT GO TO THE QUEENSWAY CARLETON HOSPITAL. Anywhere else but there.
Ottawa's Queensway Carleton ER Provided Excellent Care A recent visit at 4:00am to the emergency department of the Carleton Queensway Hospital, revealed a team of professionals with compassion and care for its patients. From the triage nurse to the attending physician, everyone worked efficiently to assess and treat the medical emergency. A kidney stone attack can be one of the most intense, painful experiences.. but in the hands of medical professionals who treat patients with respect and dignity, this hospital's ER team treated the condition in a timely, sensitive and patient-first manner. A trip to the emergency room is always met with some degree of fear; the medical team at Queensway Carleton provided this patient A-1 care.
Long waits, rude and at times abusive staff, and sub par care that almost cost me my life, are just a few reasons why I would tell you NOT to go here. I would not recommend.
One star is for the Dr McLachlan there today not the overall. I have TN the most extreme pain in medical history and I was made to wait there in extreme pain for hours after i talked with the Dr i also stated my seizures and she did all these tests. Yet told me she could only help me with one thing i had to pick seizures or help my pain. So i picked seizures because they were violent. She left me in a chair for hours with extreme pain and wouldn't help me because she couldn't treat me for more then one reason. i already have a diagnosis for TN i needed help i told her even wind hurts my face extremely and she grabbed my head and forced something in my ear and pulled my hair sending the wost paint brought me to tears snd shaking. She didnt even try to be careful i feel abused. I was shocked. She also mentioned i shouldn't go to the ER when I am in extreme pain i should wait and go to a clinic or family dr. Obviously she has no idea what TN is and to tell someone that when they are already hopeless and lost weight because they cant eat is the most uncompassionate person i ever met. He obviously has no idea about TN being a suicidal disease.
Been in there many times for life threatening issues and all was amazing. Been in there 3 times for none life threatening but very painful issues including today and the service was horrendous. I sat there for 2.5 hours until I was seen by registration then sat in a room with my stitches torn out of my nose and throat in pain for another 4 hours and not one single nurse doctor or volunteer came by to check on me. Heard them asking if they could move me back out into the waiting area to accommodate another patient. It was not busy on either side ( I know from experience) and they wanted to move a recent transplant patient back out into a room full of sick people even before they did any kind of preliminary tests on me, not an ounce of professionalism was shown there today. Just horribly run in the cubicles. I’d would likely have not been seen yet if I had not gotten up and told them I was leaving, they didn’t even try to convince me to stay. Saturday April 21 staff should be spoken with in cubicles to stop this constant lack of, well everything that seems to happen regularly in the cubicles side. Obs A &B I still love you guys.
So bad the docters screem
The lady who is working in the MRI Department at the QCH today August 27, 2021 was very unprofessional and sounded like she hated her job. Just miserable. If you do not like your job, please quit instead of making people feel bad for calling as you make it well aware that your unhappy/annoyed by helping. Times are though, life is short. Please try to enjoy it. You work in a Hospital, you are supposed to be helping people or at least want to want to help. I will never go to this Hospital again. Very disappointed with the service.
Best Hospital in Ottawa by far.
Nurses are kind, however the service is incredibly slow. Little to no service. Extremely long wait times with almost an empty ER area.
Staff, nurses and doctors are very professional. I'm very satisfied with my experience here
Doctors and staff were very kind ,experienced, treated patients with much care .
VERY frustrated over the string of complications following my surgery.
I delivered there, very special birth unit, the staff from the receptionist to the obgyn are very friendly and helpful. The nurses are super nice and caring, offered me so much help the whole time I stayed there. Don't listen to the bad reviews. In each sector there's the good and the bad, and that's absolutely fair.
We Are exceedingly satisfied with your professionalism and commitment to excellence nursing and doctor care in Emergency room . (waiting time very short, staff a nice people , Dr.Iraoukuwon prescribe a treatment and gave exlelent explanations) Thank you for everything you do Genadi & Elena Soroka
Terrible. I have health problems, so after a while of sitting I took a walk outside for some fresh air upon returning the ER nurse at the front desk was very rude (strange consider she just got on shift) She harassed me about going out side and then told me to put my mask back on.. I told her I have asthma and it's difficult to breath. She was very rude about it, so I ended up leaving. This is the quality of free health care. Even as a broke student I'd much rather pay a premium for standard medical services. Our public health is a joke. And can you believe these people were protesting for more money. Do a better job first
This Is Truly the Best Hospital in Ottawa, By Far!
this hospital is so stupid has one Dr on at night in emergency. I waited from 1.30 am to almost 8 am and did my get seen u am getting so sick of this treatment. I have been suffering from headaches for 4 weeks and depression and no one cares and us doing nothing. the biggest mistake I ever made was to move to this stupid backwards city
I am not the type to leave reviews really, but this hospital was horrendous for service and was one of the worst hospitals I’ve been to around Canada. Everything from check-in/registration all the way to the doctor was a horrible experience earlier today. Nurses were very rude (not just one, every nurse I interacted with was very rude), especially sassy, weren’t considerate, wouldn’t let me talk without interrupting me, other nurses staring at me and rolling their eyes while I’m talking to the one nurse about my issue. If you’re not caring and respectful I think you chose the wrong career. The only person that was relatively nice was the girl who did my X-Ray. Was telling the ER doctor about how I had a splint on my hand for about 3-weeks which wasn’t effective so was insisting on maybe trying something else, she was typing away and then suggested that “I go to one of those pharmacies and get a splint for my hand” obviously not listening to what I previously just said. Was also explaining the type of serve fainty pain I was in and she was not considerate saying the injury that happened “it’s expected to have that much pain”, not even prescribing me any medications or even offering me Advil. That was one of the last lines she said to me without even saying “goodbye” or being anything near friendly. Mind you also, when I was in the waiting area, an older lady was in the waiting area with me and a nurse was arguing with her very unprofessionally, the older lady had trouble dialling on her phone a taxi to go home and the nurse wasn’t helping her, one of the patients in the waiting area had to help her. Terrible service for Ottawa’s capital, definitely just in it for the pay and don’t actually like their job.
PLEASE do not give birth here!! PLEASE. The nurses are very insensitive. Don't even get me started about Emerg you would have aged 10 years by the time you left this place. Smh!
had a broken toe and they were very quick and helpful getting my x-ray done!
This is my fourth time at this hospital for myself or others, I am completely amazed with the quality of the staff. Today I was super treated by the lady at the registration and the CT Scan male nurse / technician, he was absolutely amazing and efficient. Amazing staff, everyone is amazing. Actually there was one bad apple a Covid screening employee at emergency who rolled his eyes when I said I couldnt wear a mask more than 20-30 minutes for breathing issues a couple of months ago but otherwise super good service, knowledgeable, compassionate, efficient, friendly, professional staff.
Very friendly and helpful staffing.
My advise to everyone who is thinking of visiting and do a surgery in this awful hospital, they are an artist of torturing patients, you have stay hours and hours just to see a doctor, and even with an appointment, hospital brought us from an early morning for the surgery and make us wait 8 hours before the surgery, employees are laughing and playing with their phones while patients are waiting to be called. Bad management, dirty hospital with awful services.
All those 20 something years bad bad bad experience one after one neverstop
I've been going there for about 6 years now . Once again going today for a MRI. Service is great.
The worst emergency waiting room ever. The ladies at the registration counter continuously mentioned "that I was only there for 3 and a half hours" this was at 3 am. It's now 8:21. Do the math. 100% would recommend a different hospital.
I could not thank you enough!!! If it weren’t for Dr. Georgina Manca, my father would likely be dead. 2 “doctors” from Keptville hospital sent him home. The first one stating he had mild pneumonia and prescribing antibiotics and the other...well... the other figured there was absolutely nothing wrong with him. He was rushed to Queensway where Dr Manca and her staff performed test after test and found the aneurysm leak my father was suffering from. Dr Manca.. I will forever be grateful. You are a true doctor who cares. The entire staff was wonderful. Thank you...Thank you!!
This was by far the worst experience I have ever had in hospital, I can’t believe this is our health care. Said simply, I was in the ER for 1.5 hours before getting placed in a room that was ‘just cleaned’. Which was strange because there were dirty cotton ball bandaids on the floor, a few wooden sticks and empty blood viles on the floor, the room was a disaster. Another 4 hours sitting in this room, feeling completely neglected and forgotten, for the doctor to come running in with 2 ‘note takers’ to simply tell me he wishes there was more he could do, offering to write down a few over the counter fixes, stating it was busy and he had to go. So he left the room and Forgot to write down any of his recommended fixes. At this point I was there 5&1/2 hours and paid a full days parking rate for absolutely no help at all. It is so sad that this is where we go when we need assistance, a shame really . Please take seriously others negative comments, I hope staff see this, and acknowledge people’s worries. WOULD LIKE TO ADD- I am a very kind person, they didn’t know I was unhappy with their services. This is simply what I observed.
We took our 2 years old child on november 21,2021 at 11:55 pm and returned untreated after waiting for 1 hour plus, later rushed to cheo. Overall rude front desk staff, careless, and 104 degree body temprature is nothing for them. They dont even allow parents to keep swapping which waiting for the doctor. They dont understand what to expect from a 2 year old child with 104 fever. Stay away from this hospital. Shame on the poor managment and unprofessional medical services. Human life has no value to them.
One of the worst places I have been to. Staff us not cooperative, very felthy place. Stayed there for more than 9 hours and was left untreated!! So much for a hospital in the capital!
Worst waiting time for an "emergency". I was in pain for 5-6 hours in the waiting room...I was suffering slowly. After 6 hours of waiting time the doctor gave me the most useless input and I wish I had never gone, I was almost going to cry from waiting this long. What a shame the canadian health care system is when it comes to medical emergencies. Very understaffed.
Great hospital, great staff. I've unfortunately had to use the emergency department several times, but the doctors and X-Ray Technicians were great. I felt well taken care of and listened to. If you or your family need emergency care, I would not think twice about coming here.
5h wait time for abdominal pain that nearly knocked me out. Still have not seen a doctor. Yes i am using their wifi to post this. Rude nurses, no real bedside manners (politely excluding the nurse who took my blood samples he was very kind and patient), and no concern for patients who aren't visibly at deaths door.
Was born there like pretty much 20yrs ago and still here so they did something right lolol
I found that QCH is the best hospital for people who are experiencing any REAL emergencies not something that can wait for a walk in. If you are not having a emergency then you will wait hours, and this goes for ANY hospital. If you want to experience wait times come to Sunnybrook and you will see waiting as it is not a community hospital but instead the burn Center in Ontario and a trauma Center and stroke centre. People who are actually dying or at risk of loosing a limb need that doctor and bed before anyone who has a cold, broken ankle or needs a few sutures on a pinky. Triage is there for a reason. Also imagine the stress that these staff are going through daily right now with the pandemic!
Overall, it is a pretty good hospital. I am unfortunately a frequent user of the emergency room there and I And i am usually triaged into the observation area within 15 m8nutes of my arrival. However, if it is for a minor injury green be prepared to for a while.
Fastest hospital in ottawa to get service from years of experience
Most of the staff at this hospital are kind, and the service is quick at emergency if you have something like a dislocation or worse. However, if this is not the case then you're likely to wait quite awhile for a 2 min visit with a doctor who seems not to actually consider any of the answers to their questions with any weight. My latest experience consisted of the doctor printing out an advertisement from a website and dismissing us with it. Very very poor professionalism, ESPECIALLY after having followed through with the ad and being directed to go to a doctor.
My wife and I have received excellent care. We drive from Orleans since we prefer this hospital to the closer alternative.
I've been going there for about 6 years now . Once again going today for a MRI. Service is great.
I spent 7 hours at the ED on February 4, which I did not mind one bit. The doctor, nurses, and X-ray technician were great, and I finally got a diagnosis. The one thing I was confused about is they did nothing in the way of sanitizing the waiting rooms.
I was born here
Has a super bad headache - they saw me with no fuss and hardly any wait. I mean it was so bad I was seeing double. I had a scan and thank god nothing was wrong. Just wanted to say great staff, great medical team. Thank you!
People are helpful and there is always parking.
People are helpful and there is always parking.
My 73 yr old mom had a TIA 3+weeks ago and her legs still don’t work properly. She was told she will not be getting any physiotherapy or help from the stroke clinic for at least 3 MONTHS due to backlog and she’s not an “urgent case.” Not being able to walk to the mailbox , walk your dog & being able to stand up for a shower without risk of falling over when you could easily do those things prior is a life changing trauma. She & others like her should not be left out to suffer needlessly when support i.e physio can be prescribed by the stroke clinic. This is needless & pitiful.
Service has greatly declined
Horrible wait times even if you're dying
Worst hospital! They don’t care about my elderly mother whatsoever. I have had my mom rushed to the hospital at least once a month for the past 4 months. They send her home the same day every single time and say she is fine. Then she is rushed back into the hospital 2 weeks later extremely sick and septic…. Very very sad that this hospital doesn’t care about sick people.
Went there with a broken finger, was seen by helpful, efficient, friendly staff, was x-rayed, splinted, and bandaged, and was out within an hour. Has every other emergency clinic in the region put to shame.
These people are stealing taxpayer money in return for little to no service. This must end, I'm surprised the people of Ottawa are not doing anything about their poor hospitals and corrupted healthcare professionals. This is sad.
Just picked my roommate up and she was way better off than when she went there...
How do you rate a hospital. The whole system sucks so this is a review of all systems, When visiting Florida I'm always amazed that there are billboards with wait times for hospitals. They actually compete for patients. What a huge difference. And if you say "at least our system is free" then you are either a child or so out of touch to think that you are receiving this substandard service free. The taxes you pay would easily pay for a better free market solution.
My wife had our baby here 2019. The staff, nurses, and doctors here are amazing. We couldn't be more satisfied with the service we received. God bless them. I also had a MRI on my knee, and some stitches (The wait time in emg on this one was pretty long but it was expected) done here awhile back, amazing service once again.
I had the best blood draw of my life in the emergency department, normally with blood it's a disaster.
Been waiting 7 months for an appointment. When I called they said they would call back because they couldn't find me. That was over a week ago. Thanks a bunch to the nurse that said "bet you won't do that again" after a suicide attempt. Edit: went back today. The only saving grace was the lovely nurse with the eyebrow ring who was one of the most compassionate and nice people I have ever interacted with. My other nurse was very nice as well and brought be food and drinks. Other nurses should be trained by them because a lot of them are extremely rude, lazy, and in general hate their job.
this is just another hospital, all these 1 star reviews are just impatient people not used too just another hospital. you go in you wait for a while and you leave and sometimes the prescription is just get rest and take an advil or two. its just another hospital calm down.
I had knee replacement surgery on April 1 2021. From registration at the entrance through to my post op release later that day, the staff were fantastic. Lots of explanations both before and after my surgery and a continuous checking of my progress made me feel well cared for and allayed any nervousness I was feeling. Kudos to the staff of the day surgery unit, to my surgeon Dr. Sharma and his colleagues. Thank you.
They can’t do anything wait and wait
well organized, got vaccinated. free parking card for people coming for vaccination
Avoid this hospital. It's not bad enough that Canadians pay for their OHIP cards through taxes (and yes, we Canadians pay a heck of a lot more than the US - you don't see the numbers through the Treasury Board...we pay through the nose, so should at the very least, get EXCELLENT service). They take someone with a headache before taking someone with a broken bone in the Emergency and if you attempt to stick up for yourself, you will be threatened to leave...this is what I pay for??? The hiring process didn't screen for basic criminal record checks...I know this because I personally know one of the janitors and he has a criminal record and works there full time with the general public ! I wouldn't trust anyone there., since there is no ombudsman to have oversight in hospitals in the province of Ontario, Canada
Great nurses but... Ridiculous 2 day wait for emergency surgery. Just unbelievable.
Unbelievably great care of my 91 yr old Mum from nurses, pcws, doctors, social workers, everyone at Queensway-Carleton and then Fairfield branch. We feel so grateful ???? ???? , thank you got your efforts on her behalf during this incredibly busy covid time.
I had my baby girl at the childbirth center recently and the experience couldn't get any better. I had the most amazing nurses (Mariana, Victoria and Megan) and OBGYN (Dr.Lal) taking care of me. To be honest, all the people who I interacted with in any possible way since the time I entered the hospital were extremely helpful and kind to me and my family. I am so thankful for this amazing experience. Thanks you so much, well done!
Filthy hospital, no doctors, no beds, no contact tracing, they don’t keep appointments, they ignore dying patients, to be sued for negligence.
6 hours waiting in ER. Still did not see doctor. ????
City needs more medical staff. People treat this system like a clinic updated. This is bs. Ottawa capital and line ups out the front door. Even with next to no COVID cases this is what we are seeing. Also they keep COVID patients in same room as non COVID. So yeah if you have a leg ingury stay away. No 6 feel apart only pexi glass. Also now I'll need to isolate since I was in a room with People sick with COVID.
THIS HOSPITAL IS HORRIBLE. They don't want to do anything extra to make sure. Been there 6 times in the last month and every doctor told me something different and mostly tryed to perscribe pain killers and get me out the door. It's ridiculous. Too many young inexperienced staff.
We were at the emergency for about 3.5 hours! Overall happy with their service. Parking $14. Staffs and doctor were friendly and helpful.
I was helped by Dr Manca during an ER visit recently. I quickly became overwhelmed by how empathetic and eager to help she was, and was really impressed by her efficiency in getting me follow up appointments, prescriptions etc. Being helped by such great staff (nurses included) made the wait time well worth it (and the wait time wasn’t really that bad considering it was a busy night).
My experience at the Queensway wasn't great. I used midwives so I can't really blame the hospital for that mistakebut the problem was with my overnight stay. My 1st nurse said she be back to help me breastfeed in 30 minutes and she didn't come back for over two hours even though I paged twice. Each time she said she would be right over but she never came for two hours. The problem with this was I couldn't get out of bed to get my son because of my epidural. I should have been sleeping but I stayed awake waiting on the nurse. I wasn't brought dinner until the nurse finally showed up and noticed I had no tray. I wasn't brought breakfast and I had to ask for lunch. The main reason I'm writing this review is because I just found out that my son's health card paperwork was never submitted by the hospital. Now I have to go to service Ontario. It is so frustrating. I would like to warn people to be prepared the level of care and attention that is provided.
My mother was rushed to the hospital by ambulance because she fainted in the washroom and hit her head on the bathtub. We waited in the waiting room from 11:30PM-6AM before we saw anyone to help with my mothers pain, let alone a doctor. The night staff were rude, unhelpful and unsympathetic towards anyone in pain or needing help. They stood around chatting, shuffling their feet, and had no idea what was going on around them. I do not under any circumstance recommend this hospital.
Had my baby boy at this hospital the staff was amazing except for 2 nurses who where on duty during my stay
I've been here a number of times and have never had a bad experience. Staff were always professional and friendly. Most recently, I dropped in here with my sick son. The triage nurses were able to help me out. I was in and out within fifteen minutes. Great service.
Very nice and quick night staff ????
All 4 of my children were born here. We received amazing care for all of them . Every time my family needs emergency we go here the doctors are caring and compassionent . The nurses are great as well place is clean and we'll kept. The bonus Tim Hortons is great to have when you have to wait half the day to see a doctor. Wait times are really bad in emergency but obviously not the hospitals fault .
Came here twice for my partner. She got serious headache for hours for the first time. We waited for 4 hours until all the symptoms are gone. The doctor didn’t do anything other than sent us to a room and let her took a scan. Now she’s having a very bad stomach pain, we waited for two hours now and haven’t see a doctor yet. She’s having huge pain and cannot answering any question. The nurse called me( cuz visitors are not allowed rn) and asked how come she doesn’t speak English??? That is rude!!!
A great hospital ! Two weeks ago I was in day surgery, Carpal Tunnel OP. Dr.Chitte was friendly and efficient and explained the whole procedure to me and I was in and out very fast. There was a caring, kind and friendly volunteer, a Mr.Spencer, who helped me to find the right place and later brought me back. Thank you. What a positive experience !
Absolutely horrible my sister was unable to sleeP due to her throat closing and the nurse (around 50) was rude to at least 12 people who were visibly sick and just horrid
So happy to have this hospital in our city... the nurses are certainly amazing and the skill of the surgeon in my recent operation was perfect!
I was born here woohoo
Best hospital in Ottawa. Came here twice in a week once for me once for my son. Served fast and well. Plus everyone is really friendly.
Spent 5 hrs in the ER last night with no results and terrible staff. Was treated as though I was faking my condition, "protending" to make seizure like movements. The nurses showed me no compassion. They left me unattended during an episode, where i was loosing control of my body. I could hear a staff member say "she does this on purpose". I wanted to scream but my body wouldn't let me. They refused to help get me to the washroom or back to my room and wouldn't even get me a wheelchair when i told them i was too weak and dizzy to leave the bed. There was no sanitation done in the er. There was a spilt protein shake in the waiting room the entire 3hrs i was there. And in the end i was given medication and then kicked out with very little observation as to wiether the medication worked. If you have the choice go to the Civic instead!
Butch on their job on my brother that he had to change hospital and you might just die before you're seen anyways
Always have had a good experience at the QCH. We are lucky that the West end has such a handy location, that offers many types of health care
I went in for an emergency, it was an extremely long wait but I was happy with the results, and the staff was pleasant.
I went for a dog bite that I was concerned may be infected. All I got was a bunch of questions and when I said what’s the point of theses questions you haven’t even looked at my hand yet ! The doctor got rude left in the middle of our conversation to answer her phone and from what I heard as she was standing outside my door was she really didn’t know anything as she was waking up a college to ask her questions about another client she probably misdiagnosed ! I left without her even looking at my hand as I felt she didn’t even care. The next day my hand was ok and has been since NO thanks to the Queensway Carleton ! What a joke ! Doctors don’t know much staff is very rude ! They should be audited ! And investigated for mal practice ! Oh on top of the doc doing nothing she then reported me to the health board ! For not telling her the name of the person name of where the dog bit me. I told her I didn’t know ! And Now I’m being harassed for nothing. I wonder if she told him she never even looked my hand !
Hands down the best hospital experience I've ever had. I was writhing in pain both times I've been there but the kindness and attentiveness of the staff made my wait so much easier. There was an elderly nurse walking around asking if anyone wanted a blanket, she gladly brought me one and even tucked me in, it was so cute and kind and I'll never forget it. I, for one, could never do this as a career and I admire all who can do it with a smile on their face. Thank you.
I always go into the emergency department. The wait times are always long, especially in the afternoon. Was also a patient of the mental health department. The department has good psychiatrists but the space was very small not good for physical exercise while in the hospital.
Absolutely pathetic health care at this hospital. Even worse than other hospitals. Just another example of a worthless health care system that is a by-product of a decade of Liberal rule by the corrupt Wynn’s and McGuinty governments. You may die here of waiting, or bad medical care. Why can’t I rate this hospital a zero? How unfair, that I have to give it even one star.
One of the worst Experiences of my life.
Very good location, well-designed from an architectural standpoint, overall a pleasant place to be when you are unwell and need serious medical care. These intangible things count, and the greenspace surrounding the hospital is also noticeable in a good way. Moreover, the intake staff, nursing staff, orderlies, custodians, and security detail are second to none. Respectful, attentive, responsive, and amazing professionals all-around.
Worst triage centre I have ever been in..
The nurses and staffs at the hospital were so kind and very helpful, especially the nurses & doctors in the Child/Birth Department! Had a very pleasant experience! Thank you so much for all the kindness and empathy❤️????????!!
Great staff took care of me yesterday when i came in with stomach pain. Things moved pretty quick to get me to a room and an ultrasound. Diagnosis was acute appendicitis and the nurses looked after me all day waiting for surgery. Even though they were busy they consistently went out of their way to check on me and take care of my needs. The best care i have ever received in the hospital. Surgical team was also great and im very grateful for their skills. Thank you to all the staff keeping things running and looking after us so well in hard times.
This is the worst hospital in Ottawa...well, right behind the Ottawa General. They misdiagnosed my broken hip and told me I must be drug seeking when actually my hip was fractured. (No wonder it hurt to walk!) They misdiagnosed epileptic seizures and although I am a partial paraplegic they released me after 2:00 am when no buses were running and I had only a walker with me. They kept my medications which the paramedics had given them and then claimed to have lost them. It took me 3.5 hours to walk home. Basically they are insensitive and uncaring people who need to have sensitivity training and/or be shut down. They should be sued. I only hope that they all suffer the same fate that they make all their patients suffer. They don't even deserve 1 star on this rating!
Two most recent visits to ER I didn't receive any help with my concerns, which were my eyes being very sensitivity to light causing me crazy anxiety , stress, and panic attacks. My neck became very stiff after awhile and needed sunglasses all the time. Most light would cause pain behind my eyes and immediate headaches/pain. I needed to lay down in the dark to feel somewhat ok. I was so concerned and irritable too. So my first visit to ER I waited in three spots. First was the main waiting area, where you register and whatnot which I waited I think 3 maybe 4 hours which is not that bad. After they bring you in there is another little waiting room which I waited I think an hour. The third room I was getting a little tired. Could have been 1-2 hours I don't remember. I do remember them standing around a long time doing nothing but chatting. Nothing work related. Must be nice. The first visit ends with them keeping me against my will in the mental health unit for two weeks without ever looking at my eye. The psychiatrist recommended I take Olanzapine to help me sleep longer. Make sure you read online all the side effects of drugs. Things like insomnia, sexual side effects, dryness, rapid weight gain, blurred vision are really bad for your wellbeing. The second visit, almost a year later, my problems are worse. I don't have panic attacks and as much anxiety, but I still have light sensitivity and one eye is really blurry and the other a little bit. Dizzyness, eye pain, daily headaches and a feeling like my brain is deteriorating plus neck stiffness/pain and a feeling of it being overstretched has me wanting to sleep a lot and avoid daytime sunlight. I feel very secluded. My mom was so worried she brought and waited with me. She's 68. I never made it past the first waiting room. We waited 12 hours from 6pm to 6am, then left. Disgusting! They called maybe 9-10 people into the unit the whole 12 hours. I literally saw everyone go in that were there when I got there but me. I felt blacklisted. I've read in other reviews they only have one doctor. When I mentioned it they said there are two doctors. They advised me against leaving. My mom and I had enough. Thanks again.
The only problem I have had was the volunteer yesterday I had to go for a emergency test and I couldn't walk very far due to my breathing and my bad leg the test was for blood clots in my leg. He told me that I could walk that far he wouldn't even get me a wheelchair. One of the porters that work there got me to my appointment on time he was on break saw what was happening he didn't even get his break. When I was done he came back and took me to my van made sure I was safe he asked me for my parking ticket I gave him the money and he went and paid it for me . In appreciation I gave him some money for all his work and just going out of his way. I just wanted to say thank you Mark awsome job
Please read to the end. At first I had to wait for an 11 hour despite the fact i had already came a day before and had to leave home after waiting for 6 hours. It was wayyyyy tooo packed and they had absolute no place to sit. I actually seen a lot of patients wait standing up including myself. Also I have to say its not that clean and they are really not sanitizing things properly in fact they are just simply not doing it. Anywho when my turn came, they checked everything plus the results also took a lot of time to come and i was fine with "BUT" i had this incident before leaving home and ill tell u what. I had this needle inserted in me just in case im in need of iv so when i was off to go home i was told by the doctor that the nurse will come and remove this for you. When this nurse came, she just took it off and i mean like she grabbed it like if someone is trying to wax you while standing and she did it in 2 seconds and im serious! She didnt take her time by removing the tape first but she just went for it and walked away. And i felt like crying, It was painful and im in my 20s so imagine doing this and hurting somwone older than me. I didnt say anything i was in pain and i just wanted to go home. When i came home, i saw my arm full of blood and the next day my arm was all swelled and bruised.
waiting list too long making health card a joke. garbage facilities.the number security guards is more than doctors in emergency room.
Bad experience.... x-ray took 2 hours... I can believe it... I felt that I am pre judge as they ask personal private questions. And treat you based on that...asked the nurse but didn't get any explanation...bad experience...won't come again
DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL IF YOUR PREGNANT ! So iv been pregnant for awhile now and wanted to get an ultra sound. Wanted to know how many weeks i was , spent 8.5 hours . Got blood test and had a pee test and did have an ultra sound waiting for hours to find out i had to do another ultra sound for results . Dr. Hostland a blond lady lied to my face and told me i just needed to wait for results and a male doc would be with me because she was leaving but she was wrong no male doc and no results ! Very very disappointed. Many people complaining when i was there and now i know why. Had to ask 3 times for this docs name and finally they gave it . Very rude people and acts like they didnt care . I wouldnt go for anything what if i was dying would i get the same disrespect? Anyways WASTE OF TIME! DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL!
Great staff!
I just spent a week in this hospital in 3C and I would like to say thank you to all the staff on that floor,as they carry out there work in a very professional manner, and make your stay as comfortable as possible. John Connolly
My son is a year old, sick with a temperature of 38.5 and waiting for 5 hours. I thought they would take care of him quickly, but there is no attention unfortunately.
I went in because I was recently diagnosed with a mental illness... I really was not feeling myself I didn’t think you could go to a hospital and say that and got the hell thag I got.. I thought it would be a waste of time but I was in triage within 5 minutes in a room within 20. They brought the crisis psychiatrists to speak with me mike Ralph he was extremely helpful As well as dr chase. She wanted to follow up 2 days later to see how I was feeling they gave me so many different resources I am so thankful to them as this is the first week I have felt like myself since I was diagnosed and put on a bunch of meds. So thank you to the staff who were all helpful and thanks for their patience in dealing with me. Highly recommend.
Usually I have a good experience overall. Went in for an allergic reaction I’ve grown into, and was treated for anxiety and dismissed my dizziness, lightheaded, memory loss, skin tingling, nausea and chest pain. 20 mins in and out Told me to come back if it gets worse which is why I was currently in but sent home. Went to civic and they treated me for an allergic reaction and IV it made my skin feeling go away. All I wanted was help and was ignored. Doctor thought I was crying because of domestic abuse he assumed. While explaining that my anxiety of feeling uncomfortable has made me cry? Doctor made me feel uncomfortable and sat close to me
All of the staff were friendly and knowledgable. They were respectful and had more patience than many patients deserved given the way said patients were behaving.
Personally I have very good experience with QWCH. Block D-4 personal is very nice and so friendly. My wife here after surgery and she has top service here 24/7. Doctors and nurses so good. My rate more than 5 stars. Personal thanks to Dr. Hauser, nurses: Julia, Alex, Tiffany , Darlene and all awesome personal of D-4. They doing great Job. Thank you very much. Best Regards, Alex and Olga.
Its great how people coming in for a suicide attempt get treated like worthless unwanted garbage!
When I finally got in to see a doctor last night he completely ignored that I was in because I felt my shoulder slipping back out of socket.. brushed off my complex regional pain syndrome diagnosis & began twisting and pulling my arm well past my pain threshold.. He then got frustrated with me because I was crying too hard to give him a coherent answer.. Then stood there asking me which drug I wanted.. Don't ever go to the Queensway Carleton Hospital if you are in legitimate pain.. Apparently their policy is to punish you for it because they don't believe you.. Last night hurt more than the dislocation that started this whole thing.
This hospital is a joke. Would rather bleed out than come here again.
I went to the emergency today and all of the staff were so warm and kind! It took 6 hours from beginning to end because I ended up going there a little late (1pm). I also had blood work done, an X-ray, an ECG and a meeting with Doctor Lu (apologize for spelling), she was so wonderful. I loved all the nurses and doctors on staff today. Thanks for such a great experience given the context! I really felt the patient care. I'm sorry you don't have better reviews that reflect the quality from this hospital. I also ended up being completely fine :)
Doctors very thorough but friendly. Took my problem seriously, arranged multiple visits & visits with specialist. Very pleased with both doctors & nurses attitude.
My mother was admitted to emergency. The staff, doctors and MRTs were/are so caring and respectful of her situation. She was admitted and getting around the clock care. The nurses (Kimberly, Fiona to name a few. I wish I can remember all their names) are phenomenal as well as the PSWs helping out. They put my mind at ease, knowing there are such caring people looking after my mom when I can't be there. This is by far the best hospital experience I've ever had. I can't say enough great things about the people there, in the trenches, caring for family members. Thank you so much.
I had a great experience when my baby girl was born on December 24th 2019. Doctor Anderson and Nurse Amanda were our guard angels. Thanks so much much to all the wonderful team who works in there ????
My mother went in for having extreme pain in the chest area, after sitting and crying for help for more than 5 hours the doctor came and he said chest pain was not in the report! Then what did the nurse even wrote in the report? And when my mom said she can’t move cause her whole body is numb the nurse said she is lying and left her there on the floor! Very disappointed by the nurse behaviour in ER. They were going to just leave my mother on the floor by herself if I wasn’t there to pick her up!
Horrible.
Horrible.
Should be permitted to give this hospital a zero, because this is the care that you end up with. Zero. 6.5 hours waiting in the emergency with a kidney stone, in the worse pain of my life, they would not do a thing for me. Would have to waited a least another six hours for a chance at seeing a Doctor. I see people complaining about a 5 hour wait time. This is nothing. They obviously have not been to the QR ER recently. I feel that the Queensway Carleton should close their doors. As taxpayers, we are paying for this and what is the return? The workers at this hospital will be paid no matter what level of care they provide. They are answerable to no one. The patients have less value than an insect. I only went to the Queensway Hospital because my Doctor's office was closed over the holidays and I was in excruciating pain and had nowhere else to go. I will never go back and I would advise anyone reading this review not to go.
staff was very short and rude , kept rushing us to different departments and shrugged off when we were trying to figure out what was going on . still never figured out why i was on an I.V
Literally go anywhere else no matter the emergency.
My partner went to urgent Care today with a collapsed lung. He's been there for over 6 hours and still hasn't had the surgery. Disappointed it's taken so long. He was prepped a while ago for surgery and still nothing. Not thrilled with this hospital and now I understand why the reviews are rated so low
An excellent hospital. The staff are very polite and take the time to explain things. My wife had a hernia surgery here and we were very happy with the overall experience.
I went in for hip replacement surgery yesterday(3/30)-the experience could not have been better. From the nursing staff,to the pre-op and O.R. Treatment, then to post-op,everything went according to plan. I was released at 2:30 following an 8AM procedure, and so far so good, very little pain. Excellent care from everyone-5 stars & two ???????? ???????? for the Queensway hospital!
Thorough and Fast Treatments
For better and faster service than any of the so-called Ottawa Hospital locations.
Excellent medical attention
The only thing saving my review from being a one star was the few very amazing nurses and surgeons that made me feel safe, but I cannot say much positive otherwise. TLDR, cold uncaring doctors, felt violated, ignored, and took many hours to finally be believed and get scheduled for surgery for appendicitis. I went into the ER last year because I was in horrible pain and it felt like nothing I had felt before. Ater trying to convince the doctors that no, my pain was not period, pregnancy, or std related and that it literally couldn't be anyways, they still sent me for a PAP test. Whatever, thats fine. Except that during the PAP test I felt kind of violated by a doctor (who was a man) that was doing the test. I was given no chance to ask for a female doctor to do my test, in fact one who had offered to do it was quite literally waved off by him before I could even say anything. I was treated incredibly coldly by him and I was very uncomfortable with him. The procedure hurt like hell, and that was that, I was left crying in the room putting my clothes back on and continue waiting. I was there for an entire day and all night after that, and after that being pulled every which way for testing until they finally told me it was appendicitis. I had not slept in a very long time, and i was squirming in pain in uncomfortable chairs the entire day. The IV that was put in me was put in incorrectly and it took an hour of begging in pain to finally get a nurse to fix it. Eventually I was given pain meds and allowed to sleep in what seemed to be an exam room left used as a supply closet at 6am, sleeping on the table until I could finally get ready for surgery at 9am. The surgeons were very nice and put my concerns to rest and most of the ER nurses were incredible as well as those who took care of me after surgery, but unfortunately that couldnt not overshadow how horribly I felt I was treated by doctors and others, and just how long it took with something I thought should have been time sensitive. I felt that so much of the time was wasted simply because I am an assigned female at birth trans person, and they also perceived me as a woman, so to them, what else could my pain be but overreaction to a non issue?
Came to the hospital and have waited and waited. The doctor that is here (only one) he seems to be in absolute no hurry to see my girlfriend who has been sitting patiently. Multiple times he has left to go call his wife or he’s just needlessly talking. There are no other patients but yet we are still currently waiting to be seen. Terrible plac.
Good Hospital, but quite expensive for people out of Canada
Queensway Carleton Hospital (QCH) is a 264-bed hospital located in the west end of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada that delivers short-term primary and secondary health care. QCH was officially opened on October 5, 1976 by then Ontario Premier William Davis and currently serves a population of more than 400,000 and is the secondary referral center for the Ottawa Valley. QCH focuses on its cornerstone health care programs: emergency, childbirth, Geriatric, mental health, rehabilitation, cancer care, medical and surgical, and critical care. In 2015 QCH obtained its "Accreditation with Exemplary Standing" from Accreditation Canada, the highest award level of accreditation with an overall compliance score of 99.4 (2014/2026 compliant standards) and meeting all 31/31 Required Organizational Practices. The executive management team is led by President and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Andrew Falconer and the medical team reports to Chief of Staff Dr. Sanjay Acharya. Dr. Falconer replaced Tom Schonberg who died in February 2019. In fiction, The hospital was mentioned in the episode The Smile in “Homeland” where the character Carrie Mathison, received a temporary new identity, “Kate Morrissey”, for a CIA mission, with one of the facts of Morrissey being born in the hospital. However, the hospital did not have a maternity ward at the time of her birth and her place of birth is incorrectly listed as Ottawa when at that time the hospital within Nepean (before amalgamation of the city of Ottawa). QCH is funded by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (a ministry of the Ontario Government), the QCH Foundation as well as by a variety of public and individual donations. In 1986, QCH's first expansion took place from the original 1976 building, adding an additional 160 acute care beds, ambulatory care services, diagnostic imaging services, and additional administrative space. Between 1998 and 2000, in response to provincial hospital restructuring and amalgamation of services, QCH completed Phase 1 of its expansion, which included a new birthing centre, which included the incorporation of the former Grace Hospital's Newborn Program and an expanded diagnostic imaging program, which included QCH's first CT scanner. Between 2003 and 2005, Phase 2 of the expansion was approved to allow for significant growth in the emergency department, the busiest single-site emergency department in Eastern Ontario with almost 78,000 visits yearly in 2017; in-patient medicine; and surgery units, ICU and surgery capacity; and incremental growth in other clinical and support areas. Between 2008 and 2010, in partnership with Cancer Care Ontario and The Ottawa Hospital Regional Cancer Center Program, the Irving Greenberg Family Cancer Center (IGFCC) was opened on the QCH campus to provide cancer diagnosis, treatment, surgery and ambulatory support. The facility includes 3x radiation treatment machines, 2x clinics and 33x chemotherapy spaces. The first patients were treated in April 2010. In 2012, a ten-year Phase 3 expansion project was completed to provide the following improvements: 10 new Operating Room suites, a new and expanded Ambulatory Care Centre, a new Rehabilitation Centre, a new Physiotherapy Centre and a 15-station Hemodialysis unit. The 140,000 sq ft expansion also included renovations to the pharmacy and laboratory departments and significantly expanded the diagnostic imaging department, doubling the number of MRI and CT scanners and additional nuclear medicine and biopsy units. In 2014, Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne and Minister of Energy Bob Chiarelli announced the approval of a new 34-bed Acute Care of the Elderly (ACE) Unit at QCH. The $9.6 million project addresses the special needs of geriatric patients and will help prepare elderly patients for a smooth transition to home. The unit will be only the second of its kind in Ontario after Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto.
Long waiting time, but nice staff.
Last week, my mother tripped on a stair outside my cousin's house, landing on her face on the stone surface. She had deep cuts above and below her left eye. My uncle rushed her and my wife to Queensway Carleton Hospital. They arrived at 10:45 pm Thursday August 30. My mother knew that it would be a wait, but she had no idea of the ordeal that she would have to endure. At 4 am Friday August 31, the triage nurse made an announcement that the attending doctor had left and would not return until 7:30 am. After waiting for more than five hours with a wound that was still bleeding, my mother was told that there was no doctor in the building. A little while later, my wife asked for two blankets for herself and my mother, as it was a cool night. She was told that no blankets were available. Finally, at 8:30 am Friday morning, after almost ten hours of very uncomfortable waiting, a doctor saw my mother. This treatment is unacceptable for a major Ottawa hospital. There should have been another doctor available to replace the departing doctor and blankets should always be on hand. I expected more from Queensway Carleton.
Staff is incredibly nice, however wait time is way too long. Once you get through the doors you see a bunch of people standing around talking and watching stuff on computers.
Emergency is never fun, but the staff at QCH are very friendly and helpful. I could do without the 6 hour wait though!
Slow as hell. Had chest pains after a big car accident and waiting 4 hours and counting. Uncomfortable and overly bright waiting room. They don’t tell you the average waiting time. Will never come to emerg here again.
I've been here since 730pm with my 14 year old daughter who has had a severe migraine for over a week. It is now 229am and we are still in the general emergency waiting room... absolutely absurd! Not to mention that all facilities for food and beverage are closed including the Tim hortons. AND on told of that your vending machines suck and don't work.
Friendly and professional staff.I have been there a few times for emergencies for myself or some relatives, we have been always treated properly. Thank you the hospital team.
The nicest of people work here. I truly don't understand the negative reviews. This is a very simple fact of life, you reap what you sow. Be polite and unconditionally respectful to anyone and they will eventually treat you the same, even if they don't seem interested or polite at first. Although I was never treated poorly here and will go back since our relationship is based on trust and respect. Peace be upon everything and everyone! -Mohamed
Extremely rude nurses, although all the other staff seemed friendly and willing to help.
extremely slow hospital. Came to the ER middle of the night and took forever. 6.5hrs and still waiting. Was very quiet with a couple other patients.
Do everything in your power to avoid this hospital. Take the extra few minutes necessary to drive to the Civic or the General. You will not get proper treatment at this hospital. I know from several experiences. And they don't listen to complaints either.
This hospital and its staff saved my life. I went to the Kempville emergency hospital and was transported by ambulance to the Queenway for a CT scan, they were already waiting for me and after few minutes I went for the exame. For my surprise I was told that I would not return to Kempville but instead be admitted as an emergency patient due to a major infection that had spread through my body and my life was in danger. If wasn't for the highest quality of care and human love I would not be writing this review. Thank you Dr. Power and the team of the infectious disease clinic, the radiologist Doctor that immediately came to identify and remove 14mls of pus that was eating my body life and for the least but now the last my deepest thank you to the nurse angels that took great care of me. I sincerely hope this review reaches the hospital CEO and be forwarded to this heroes. God bless you all. LinoTrillo
I was producing here the day before yesterday. This is my first baby. This is a very wonderful experience, the nurses and doctors here are very friendly and patient. They will carefully teach new parents how to care for their children, and they will provide a very comprehensive introduction to the services available here. I am very happy to be producing here.
Had TKR at Queensway. Dr Randall is the best. Great bedside manners plus did a great job on my knee. Surgical Nurses did the perfect job to make my stay very comfortable and put my mind at ease.
Awful place to be. Waited for hours and put up with rude staff
I hated going to this hospital and to other hospitals for 2 reasons is that the waiting time in the emerency ward is just soooo freakin long. It takes 3 to 4 hours for a doctor to initially see you. Then another 3 to 4 hours to obtain the final diagnosis. Another reason is their parkin fee is just a HIGHWAY ROBBERY. We rushed our daughter here last night at 7 p.m. due to abdominal pains and the initial diagnosis was obtained at 3:00 a.m. and was released. We were asked to come back for an 11:00 ultra-sound check the next day, hoping that we get that check at the appointment hour. It is now 11:30 am and no one yet to do this check. CANADIAN Hospital system is still in a mess....no improvement at all ! ! !
I was at the hospital a couple of years ago. Was brought in by paramedic. Paramedic only wrote down obvious ankle fracture. Even though he knew I fell down the stairs and had multiple injuries. After being in a cubicle from 8 am to 3 pm being refused pain meds even though the paramedic couldn't get a iv started so I was told I would get morphine at the hospital. After hopping out of the bed in a wheelchair I stated I was leaving. Nurse told Dr. McGee and he came to look at my ankle. I mentioned I had injured both feet and leg. Stated that the only thing on there was my ankle. He would give me a bonus and look after my leg as well. Seemed to be a big joke doctor sitting beside him was laughing also. Took xrays shattered ankle, multiple fractures in leg and two broken feet. After screaming in pain In cubicle with any pain meds and only being looked after because I was going to crawl out of there. Was lucky enough to have the surgery that evening they weren't sure if I had to wait till morning because it was so late. Next day was given physio to use crutches with two broken feet. Nothing was ever done about my feet and to this day I still have pain from having to hop on a broken foot for months. Lucky I couldn't hop on other foot thanks to shattered ankle and broken leg. I think even if there is only one thing in paramedic report that everything should be done to have the patient leaving with all there medical needs looked after. No wonder people have to come back multiple times they probably didn't fill out the report to their satisfaction.
Nurse their is unprofessional , she was not able to take blood she tried 4 times poking my two arms my hands are swallow I am not happy
I was so not prepared for the absolutely amazing and highly professional service that I received from Queensway Carleton Hospital. Nurse Andria at triage was the sweetest. She was polite, attentive and repeatedly smiled at me from behind the hugh glass wall as I waited. She happily handed cups of water to those who needed it. The staff at registration was also very chatty and in good spirits. I couldn't believe how patient they were in providing directions to someone trying to find Tim Hortons. The nurses on the inside were likewise phenomenal, with one offering to keep an eye on my baby as I went to the washroom. Because each member of staff was lovely my near 3 hour wait didn't feel so long at all. Thanks team for making my visit as smooth as it was, keep up your wonderful work!!
I had laproscopic gall bladder surgery there 4.5 weeks ago. Very careful, very professional care, well done. Unfortunately I had to return to emergency at 2:00 am because of pain. Had to wait until 7:30 am to see a doctor. By Queensway Carleton’s own statistics, it is the busiest ER in Ontario. There was only one doctor on night duty and the place was busy. Why? . Went for ultrasound at 2:30 pm and was seen by doctor for results which showed no abnormalities. We put this one down to unknown. The pain subsided all by itself and I was pleased to go home, at 3:45 pm. The ER is so busy that 2 cubicles have been converted into waiting rooms. Here is the way things worked for me. I was placed in one of these waiting rooms, which was completely full, and had no room for wheelchair patients until an examining room was about to become available. Wheelchair patients waited in corridors impeding traffic. I had to change into a gown in the one and only bathroom which was occupied, and was then taken to an examining room for an assessment with the doctor. I was told to remain in my gown and carry my clothing with me back to the converted waiting room cubicle where I waited with other patients in similar dress until I was called for an ultrasound.. One of the patients had a kidney stone and I felt for her because she needed desperately to lie down and there was no place for her to do that. Still in my gown, I was given directions to the ultrasound lab and was told to carry my clothes with me and to go by myself. What hsppens if you are disabled?. Signage to help you find your way is very poor. After the test, I was directed back the waiting room cubicle to wait for the doctor. My final consult took place in an armchair placed at the end of the nurses station. There was no privacy whatever. This was done with almost every other patient I saw. I believe this is a violation of patients right. I was glad to have been discharged and was directed back to that one and only washroom to change into my street clothes. I had to wait because it was occupied. I am diabetic and although they were excellent at monitoring my blood sugar when I asked them to there was no monitoring. I had to ask. There was alsono access to food. Remember that you are told not to carry valuables so no money, and the Tim’s didn’t open until 6:30 AM. What is the verdict? Terribly understaffed and overcrowded. I found the staff professional but brusque and abrupt with no time to help. How could they be anything but in such overcrowded super busy conditions. I was astounded to find out that this ER had recently been renovated and expanded. Really? What kind of expansion was that? It certainly did not even come close to meeting the requirements. I had to go to the Queensway Carleton Emergency because that is where my surgery was done. If I had gone elsewhere I would have been assessed briefly then told to go to Queensway Carleton where the surgery had been done. In my opinion, the Queensway Careleton emergency is not up to the task it is designed to do. It is too small. understaffed, and needs expansion pronto. Sometimes you have no choice but to go where an ambulance takes you. But if you can avoid it, don’t go to the Quuensway Carleton. As a footnote, why does ths ER, which by its own statistics handle more ER patients have so few examining rooms as compatrd with the CIVC which handles fewer cases?
Very long wait time and rude service.
(Translated) Neglect in materiovigilance! Use of a defective pompous MRI. To do an MRI this morning, my husband had to undergo 2 injections of products, the first infiltrating subcutaneous causing edema of the upper limb, because of the defective electric syringe which had to push the product in abundance by perforating the vein ... The technician admitted that this is the 2nd incident this morning.
Drs. And nurse are extremely rude. I understand you are desensitization to people's feeling and genuine issues however at the end of the day we are still human and bedside manner should still be present. This is the worst hospital for wait times and Drs.
PROCEED WITH CAUTION! From the rude reception at the front door to the SECURITY GUARDS BEATING A MAN outside past unconsciousness I'm sure. The nursing staff isn't any better. I didn't think it was possible to feel even worse after breaking your arm but it is. Stay clear of this hospital at all costs.
Horrible care, especially for elderly, they treat them like they are not human, They are NOT providing free healthcare!!!!! I pay whole pot load of taxes and property taxes $$$$, so its not free, on top of that they hurt our loved one BADLY. Shame on you.!!!!!
I have been at the QCH over the years for a variety of problems from asthma, pneumonia, broken foot, pregnancy. I find all the doctors there to be nice and caring, professional and knowledgeable. I am pleased with the treatment I received. The hospital is clean and well organized. I do agree that the wait times at the emergency can sometimes be unreasonable but with the province cutting on healthcare what can be done? I also did notice people coming in at the emergency with problems that could have been dealt with at a clinic or with a family doctor therefore crowding the emergency for no reason. Most of the nursing staff is good. I have come across a few rude and unhelpful ones in the emergency but they are few and far between and probably overworked.
They are very organized and you don't wait long to have a test done
On Friday night at about 8:20 PM, I came here with my fiancé for his sprained ankle. Reassuringly, procedure went like clockwork. Admission, to x-Ray, to results. When all was done, it was before midnight. They really are the fastest hospital in ottawa.
I know wait times are long in the emergency room, which is annoying on its own but tag team that with watching nursing staff in the emerg literally roll her eyes at a young man who didn't know what to do with his medical gown, colleagues tattling on fellow colleagues for asking for certain tests to be run and then gossiping loud enough for the entire wait room to overhear your plans for the weekend. Staff needs to develop clearer communication with their patients. They didn't explain to us what to do after taking blood and urine samples, sent us down a corridor we've never been to before to find the CT area ourselves, didn't give any info on where to go after the CT. I get they do this every day but they're dealing with scared and sick people that don't and need to treat them as so.
Always had an amazing experience, the staff is caring, competent and welcoming. They helped us get back on our feet within a few days. Thank you!
430am November 24th Registration admin isn't wearing a mask. I asked another nurse about it, who responded "that's her business, she'll wear one when she's seeing you" Uhm that's not the point. We know by now that this virus is airborne! Very irresponsible for a medical professional, working in a HOSPITAL, to only wear a mask some of the time.
I delivered at the QCH and received the best care available from the moment i arrived. The staff was super friendly and helpful and i would definitely recommend this hospital to anyone for the delivery of their baby.
Good hospital the nurses are efficient and thorough and they have different waiting rooms for suspected COVID symptoms.
I highly recommend this hospital. I had surgery yesterday at the QCH in Nepean. The hospital was so clean and modern. All the nurses and doctors were helpful and kind. I felt very calm and relaxed. Thank you so much. Melanie
Rude. Unprofessional. AVOID.
My wife suffered a back injury earlier this year. She got a referral to the Queensway Carleton for an MRI back in the beginning of July. By the end of September, she had not heard from the hospital about a booking. When she called the hospital to follow up, they had lost her referral. We got a copy of the referral from her doctor and brought it in to the hospital and spoke in person with the MRI department. My wife has just called back, and guess what... the MRI department lost the referral that was handed to them and photocopied by them. Now my wife has to wait at least another 4 months for an appointment. That is 8 months of constant pain she has been in. The Queensway Carleton is in need of a serious overhaul of their personnel and system. If I could give them less than one star, I would.
This past week I had an MRI at Queensway Carlton Hospital. I arrived early and was admitted immediately by very polite staff. The test was performed by very courteous, professional and helpful staff as I was in a wheelchair. My experience at this hospital was positive and I applaud the staff whom I dealt with.
The staff is nice but be prepared to wait over 8 hours.
Great emergency and clinic staff. It is always a reassuring experience.
Brought my elderly mother here several times over last couple years ,triage nurse that checked her in was very rude to say the least ! Better of working as a border guard or in a detention center. Signage is deplorable ,or should I say non excistant ,try not getting lost . parking is a kings Ransome
Went in with a dislocated finger and everyone was very nice and helpful every step of the way. I think a basic “be nice to people and they will be nice to you” is needed for a lot of these 1 star reviews.
I'm have issues breathing, pains in organs, and have waited over 3 hours to get still nothing, just a room to sit in, for 2 more hours
I had fallen onto pavement and fractured my knee... I was worried in regards of the wait time... decided to go anyways... from entering the hospital... check in er receptionist to er registering people, to the various nurses and doctors... great experience, ... now the surgery... arrived and again great check in from check in to the male orderly taking me to surgery ward... anxiety was surely there... but these professionals eased it... Nurse Meg was great... shared her love landscape design... Dr. Young, Dr. Farrell, and Dr Farrell's assistant and all the nurses in the OR... amazing... and post surgery I really have to Thank Nurse Matthew... when he started waking me up... his smooth voice was excellent... other surgeries I have had they were loud and startled me... but his way of waking me up was definitely the best... Thank you... I had to go back to the hospital a third time in three days... again the same thing... from nurses, doctors, to other staff who were around... all pleasant smiles and even stopped to chat for a bit if not busy and going by... it made it so much easier to be there... even the cleaning people are so nice... not always are these people are ever mentioned but they should... with My injury, I probably be back many times in the halls of QCH... and will experience the same... Thank you to all the Staff of QCH... I greatly appreciate for all you do...
just now Had my daughter here, the quality and care received from the nurses really elevated the whole experience. Big shout out to Katie and Tracy. Would highly recommend birthing unit here!
Very impressed with speed of ED today. I had a very bad ankle sprain that Telehealth nurse thought may be fractured. Was in and out in two hours with xrays completed showing no fracture. Staff were friendly and helpful.
I’ve only used their ER multiple times and the experience has been average to bad. The wait times are always bad and they don’t bother communicating or keeping you informed. In my latest visit to the ER I was waiting for 8 hours + out of which 6 hours were in the waiting room inside where the rooms are. Then once they got a room I was just sitting there for hours and a Dr didn’t even acknowledge you. All this in times of Covid restrictions where you are on your own and can’t even venture out to get a coffee or food. The nurses were very rude and nonchalant and pretty much looked like they don’t care. I ended up leaving as I couldn’t wait any further. I’ve had much better experience at the Ottawa hospital ER. I think I’ll be avoiding this place going forward even if its the closest hospital to my home.
Outrageous parking meter rates!! Shame
I went into the ER with a broken hand. It took 5 hours and 17 minutes from when we got there to when we left. Despite the long wait times the staff were very kind and cheery. Even with my level of discomfort I found myself smiling. So, systematically there's some trouble as per usual in hospitals but at least the service was good. Booking the follow up was quick and clear with only a 15 minute wait for the surgeon consult.
This hospital SUCKS and Im being generous actually when I say that. The ER waiting area is horrible. When you register, they literally tell you to sit down and wait and you can be there waiting for 5 hours and die waiting for help and literally no one will care. The worst thing about it is, when you go back to the window to check why you are not being seen, they simply tell you it should not be too long. Being in IT, thats our favorite expression "well, it should work" :). I really believe that part of the bigger problem is that most of people there are overworked and underpaid and sadly, thats is just how Canadian health care system is...
They took great care of a family member. We are grateful and thank you so much for hiring good professional people.
I brought my 92 year old Mom to have mammogram at hospital. My mom does not speak English. The technician absolutely had no patient to her because I needed to translate her instructions to my Mom, also because my aged Mom move slower. She was very rude to us. She said we slow down her and she had other patients waiting. However, she also spent lots of time to set up her computerized system during our visit. Why she believed that was our fault to slow her down. She told us to make a 30 minutes appointment in next year. My Mom is 92 year old. Who knows she will be here for next year or not. We have a very pleasant experience with the technician in last year. The experience in this year is horrible.
Horrible , dirty and the staff made me and my father and brother feel scared for their safety. #BOYCOTTQCH
Wait times are ridiculous! 8 hours of wait to get a cut glued together just 2 minutes. What are the doctors doing behind the scenes? I've seen them just chatting.
I wish I could give this place 0 stars. Everyone is so rude. There wasnt a single person in the waiting room when I arrived at 3am I thought it was a blessing from god. 6 hours later still havent seen a doctor. I'll update this message when a doctor comes if that ever happens. Not likely though as I will probably die first of old age...its actually disgusting and a clear indication of a deteriorating health care system. Funny when we consider the American health care system a significant upgrade to this joke.
Worst hospital ever! I went down to the emergency for chronic chest pains. The triage nurse seems annoyed that you showed up and takes her sweet time chatting with the other nurses before seeing you. She gave me Advil and asked me to wait for registration. After registering, I waited 3.5 hours in the waiting area and was not seen. I watched as the clearly unorganized staff shuffled through charts and re-escalated those patients whose charts “disappeared”. My chest pain continued to worsen. I seen the nurse calling those with much less serious conditions than me into th UC, and that’s when I realized that I could not trust my life at this incompetent facility. People with minor fractures and those who required stitches were being called while I was continued to be ignored. So, I called an Uber to take me to a real hospital and left for the TOS civic campus. The triage nurse seemed happy I was leaving and immediately said “no problem, I’m taking you off the system”. I wasted 5 hours and risked my life by going there. Thank God, once I got to the civic there were real professionals working there and I was rushed into UC within minutes. An ecg was done and I spoke to a doctor within the same hour of arriving. I was able to promptly have a near cardiac arrest treated. I’m very happy with the civic. They saved my life. As for Queensway, this shameful place needs to be shut down. Hospitals in Cuba are much better!! Shameful!
This hospital is missing the "care" in health care facility. I'm sure there are competent professionals that work there; sadly, I just didn't meet any during my recent experience. Couldn't pay me to go there again.
Very helpful with getting information.
We have been going to QCH for over 25 years, for many different reasons and for different generations of family. In short, I've spent hundreds of hours there, being a patient or visitor. I have very, very few complaints. We get excellent care, from nurses to doctors, ED to ACE care. Wait times are painful at times, but if you need immediate help, you absolutely get it. It's called Triage for a reason. I've heard the way some patients speak to staff, and the abuse the staff take. Going on two years of the pandemic, the staff must be at their breaking point. Be kind.
Good hospital. Good service. Professional people.
They are a very brutal hospital... never had a great experience here. And anyone ive ever spoke too has had the same horrible experience as me here all the time.
Perhaps one of the worst ER I faced during my visit. They seems to have more staff then patients. A rude behavior, from receptionist to ER nurse I think there should be a strict ban for the ER staff to use mobile when on duty. Doctors should know that this is not there time to sit and chat for 30 min without checking the patient bin the ward.
Such a bad taking care of their patients.. do not take any thing serious... do not come over here..
CT Scan completed on April 27, 2021. After the Scan was completed the technician asked me to wait in the patient waiting area and she would return in few minutes to remove the syringe from my right arm. After about twenty minutes she did not return. I searched around and was able to find another technician who asked me who did my CT Scan. I told him her name and then overheard him asking the clerical staff where she was. This clerical staff person responded that SHE HAD GONE HOME. Incredibly, she 'forgot' about me in the patient waiting area. This technician then removed the syringe and I left after a needless thirty minute delay. If I could give less than one star, I would.
Support staff was very kind and knowledgeable. However, the specialist I saw within their pain/ambulatory department lacked customer service skills and general knowledge. I was supposed to receive an ambulatory and a pain assessment. Neither were done, the only concern being if I wanted to proceed with treatment. If you are struggling with back pain and do not want possibly life-long epidural injections, and have been referred here, I would seek another medical professional.
Long wait time even though it wasn’t busy. Everyone taking the extra sweet time to get things down. Will never come again here.
Plenty public pay parking. Friendly bilingual staff. Easy to follow hallway signs. Very clean apperance and the latest technology to serve all needs.
The worst hospital in all of Ottawa. They don't know how to prioritize and have actually forgotten my name in the queue once before. 5-6 hours waiting time minimum. Obscene. Quick update, they've gone from making me wait in one room to wait in another room. DUMB.
I can see why so many people are saying that the Canadian Health Care system is broken. When does emergency service take 6 hours to get the result and the final result from the doctor is ..."We don't know what it is." 6 hours to hear that answer is just pathetic. Our experience of going there to get a diagnosis for a heart problem and we were sent from one waiting area to the next. When we finally get to the doctor, they asked the same questions as the receptionist and the nurse. After 2 of the same scan plus a blood test (6 hours) to do all of this. The result was "we don't know what it is." Wow, what a waste of time. The hospital was pretty gross. One of the bed was soiled. I mean there was a chunk of poop there and no one seems to be cleaning it. In the waiting area, there was a lady bleeding out of her mouth, still waiting to be treated. For goodness at least clean her up and isolate her from other people while she's waiting for a doctor.
Very very bad service i had to wait for six hours in emergency and i left with no treatment
Wake up Canadians! The Health System is sick and required a serious Overhaul! Disgusting service! I was brought to this hospital by the Ambulance with the heart failure in addition to other health problems, including hypertension, nausea, the abdomen and under the ribs pain! 5 hours no one came to me. In the end, a blood test was performed, to my surprise, which showed a good result ??? As a person who has worked in different laboratories for a long time, I am sure that it was a shameless lie and the test results were adjusted depending on the pre-order, so as not to show the real problems of my health state. And this is not the first time I saw a lie has been made at THIS Place! It seems to me that this is becoming the normal part of this hospital practice! If you have a serious health problems look for a different options, as this service isn't reliable! I don't know who is writing the positive review for such a service??? The same health conditions was repeated in 2 days. I was admitted to this Hospital (by the ambulance) with the heart pain and signs of poisoning. Instead of real doctor I was served by some doctor assistant. Simple blood test didn't show any abnormality again! I was asking to do abdominal ultrasound which could show and proof the kidney and liver function abnormality if I was right with my assumption. The doctor was deaf and dumb! Didn't help at all! I left in the same conditions as I came! Stay away from this Hospital if possible. This guys are working only to help the people in power to earn a money on people's grief and hide the real heath problems!!! Arrogance young medical staff!
My experience was a very positive one. If I waited more than 5 minutes to be taken in to see a doctor that would be an exaggeration. Friendly caring knowledgeable staff from the nurses to the doctor that I saw. Five star from me. Keep up the good work!
Really good service, really good staff. Friendly people all around! I have volunteered here in the past and I was integrated into the community smoothly and I felt very welcomed. Albeit, the facility is confusing to navigate compared to CHEO, the directory and signs were a great help.
Clean and organized Hospital. Every time we have had to visit it, the staff has been nice and very helpful . Unfortunately, the emergency is not as quick as anyone would wish when you are sick, but if you prepare to be there some hours you are probably gonna get good attention and hopefully feel better after all. There is parking and the daily cost as of today is 14$ for the day.
Everyone involved - from admission to the nurses to the surgeon and anesthesiologists - were incredibly friendly, communicative and caring. The clear communication and help prior to the surgery and the follow-ups post-surgery were a welcome change of pace and it's clear QCH cares about its patients.
I don't like to complain about the health care system as I do think we are luck to have the system we do and i understand the pressure Covid has put on this system also...however... I rushed my daughter into the emergency room yesterday at 1pm after she collapsed at work. when we arrived she was unable to walk or stand, she had completely lost her vision, she was having trouble breathing and was shaking uncontrollably. i had to carry her into the building and get her a wheel chair. We sat in the waiting room for over 2.5 hours without being seen by a doctor. By that point, the symptoms had passed and we were told it would be another 2-3 hours before we would be seen. $14 in parking and 3 hours later, we left without receiving any care at all. what is the point in going to the emergency room for an emergency if you have to wait 6 hours to be seen? Not to mention, you spend those 6 hours in a single room with dozens of other people while still in a pandemic...we had a better chance of catching covid than we did getting medical care.
Lack of staff skill both inserting IV catheters and drawing blood for testing. ER nurse ‘Michelle’ needed two attempts to draw blood from my left inner elbow. She next attempted to insert an IV catheter into my right forearm for CT scan dye and a subsequent Plum-A infusion pump. She blew out two more blood vessels before calling for help from a man behind the ER desk. He slammed the catheter into my right inner elbow with a placement that inhibited my dominant arm movement for the remainder of my 3-night hospital stay. Flexing my right elbow caused the needle to hit bone and the infusion pump to stop. It then had to be re-calibrated (often by me). This catheter placement meant all actions had to be done with my left, non-dominant arm/hand. I did not dare suffer more pain by having this catheter removed and yet another insertion attempted. This was not treatment; it was torture. If you mis-treated animals like this you would be charged with abuse. In the two mornings when blood was drawn, the technicians who appeared at my bedside were both unsuccessful. More punctures and bruising on my left arm. And palpating the injection site trying to squeeze more blood out of the vessel they just damaged is beyond stupid. It is sadistic. Who trained these people? Why are they still employed? Thankfully at least one person from pharmacy was proficient in drawing blood cleanly and quickly and was called upon to do so both times. I am not the only person on this planet with small, rolling veins. This place needs remedial training for all staff who insert IV catheters and draw blood.
Is the hospital looking into the significance of the wildly divergent opinions I see on this website?
I was in the psych ward for 3 weeks. Now it's public. Although the wait was long I found out later that half the psychiatrists had left to for private practice, so they were extremely short staffed. Once I was taken inpatient, things were a blur more due to my state of mind. During my stay I realized they do everything for a reason. Eating properly, sleeping and get meds right. The Doctor I had was exceptional and nailed my medication properly the first time. The nurses are the true heroes and were always willing to talk or help where they could. The nurses have a real challenge since in many cases they don't know what's wrong and they can't always rely on the individual telling them. The food was very good for an institutional kitchen and we were able to choose our food for each meal during the week days. They would come around with a tablet to select from. The social workers I had were exceptional. They are truly excellent advocates for the patients and went beyond what I would consider normal. It never really felt like I was in an institution which I credit the nurses for. The frustrating part was I didn't understand their role initially. They are there for critical care and want to get you in and out as safely possible to take in new patients. Also being an American I was glad I was in Canada when I needed help.
This hospital is unbelievable... such a horrible staff beyond any I've ever known.. my wife has been suffering from abdominal pain for the last 9 months from post hernia surgery and each time she comes in for complaints they treat her like some drug addict. they refuse to give her proper medication and let her suffer in room 10 in the back corner for 3-5 hrs at a time, then force her to have a CT scan or get out. funny thing is I'm an Medical Radiation Technologist student (people who perform xrays, CT scans and fluoroscopy) and I know just how dangerous CT scans really are.. and within the past 9 months they have forced her to have 6 CT scans.. SIX ...for a problem that they know a CT scan WONT find. yet their arrogance has constantly endangered my wife's life... so much for ideal health care. and before you say "go to another hospital" unfortunately enough she had her operation at queensway and they won't release any of her information to other hospitals.. and when we force them too.. they act stupid and send the wrong files or incomplete ones... stay away unless you're ready to endanger your lives as well. seriously i wish i could give it zero stars..
Shouldn’t be called “Emergency” if they’re not gonna treat it like one. No one cares in that hospital
I have had a couple of great experiences at this Hospital. Great staff in Maternity ward and ICU!
Worst hospItal in entire Ottawa Carleton region.
Trust the reviews. This is the worst hospital I have ever been to, in this entire world. I have relocated from Pakistan and even that developing country that is so looked down upon has far better caregivers than this hell of a hospital. The nurses (with a few exceptions) are horrible. Pathetic. Downright dismissive and unkind. Especially the Birth Unit nurse named Kimberley. Someone really needs to tell her what her job is. She didn't even want to touch me or help me move when my legs were completely paralyzed after OD with epidural. She did not listen to my concerns, and when I vomitted on the OR tabled due to OD with epidural + spinal anesthesia, she literally just left the suction next to my face instead of helping clean up (it was dangerous because throwing up when you're laying flat can cause fluid aspirate to enter the lungs and kill you). Then Dr McKinnon and Dr Reid/Reed (the anesthesiologist) started commenting on my career and how I don't really amount to anything because I hadn't graduated in Canada lol. Dr Reid was absolutely disgusting as well. Didn't help me up when I vomitted, disrespectfully talked down on me and was overall very unempathetic. Dr McKinnon didn't even come to check up on me and my baby after the surgery, although I was in the hospital for 3 days. Never going back to this hospital again. Unprofessional, uncaring, unempathetic staff and doctors.
Wait time wasnt to long and front of the house staff where very helpful and sweethearts. 5 stars for the staff up front. But zero stars for one of the doctors there. I used to have an amazing experience here, but after today I will be taking my time elsewhere. The doctor didnt listen to anything I said and would always interrupt me. As well, he just said I was stressed out and to see my family doctor cause he couldnt help me with my problem. I came in cause I dont get to see my family doctor till Friday I have major concerns and even after I told the doctor I was having dizzy spells and I was light headed. Hes like just have your family doctor do some test for you. I left with a headache and was surprised I got home alive. Thank you so much for your little help and the push out the door. Hope, you never have to go through what you put me through.
If you have to do a Surgery and required physiotherapy by hospital do not depend on them go private. They are useless or over worked , Better watch YouTube don't waste your time. I did my total knee replacement surgery and physiotherapy dept was useless and had to do manipulation on my knee by surgeon. physiotherapy dept at this hospital is a waste of our tax money.
Infectious Disease department sets the standard for caring professional Health Care! Main Entrance staff are very kind and direction signage impeccably clear.
I had my tonsils removed at the Queensway Carleton last week, and had an amazing experience. The staff were very friendly and kind and I felt completely safe. I had no family with me and yet I never felt like I was alone. The staff in the day surgery wing was some of the nicest doctors and nurses I have ever dealt with.
I understand that everyone is overworked and understaffed - but would it kill the emerg nurses to smile. They treat people as if they are a bother. A bit of compassion people.
The most dirty, slowest, unorganized, mismanaged emergency rooms I have ever been to. I doubt they even clean the emergency room. Their were live ants all over the floor in February. The process just to register and triage a patient is this painfully slow 2-3 hours. Nurses are rude and overpaid.
To the receptionist named "Holly" you are a repulsive horrible excuse of a person. You have no patience and should not be working in a hospital setting. You are rude and sound like you hate your job. Do us a favor and quit and never come back.
What a joke .stay far away
This hospital is garbage came here with my pregnant wife and Triage Desk yelled at her for no reason ... miserable ppl should get fired
I had a fantastic experience the nurse whose name I did not get was fantastic and the doctor whose name was MCGEE was even better. They are the best!
I just got back from there and this is the second time in two months I brought one of my daughters there to be seen and received no service because the wait times proved to be too long. I don't know what happened to this hospital because in years past, they had excellent service. When I accidentally shaved the tip off my thumb while refinishing antique furniture, as well as when a metal fragment got behind my left goggle and into my eye while doing bodywork on the car, both wait times were about 35 minutes. When I passed a kidney stone, the wait was about an hour, but those instances were long ago. The triage nurse was just downright rude and was unwilling to listen to any concerns I had. While I was waiting there with my daughter and having seen only 2 people called in in 1 1/2 hours, a lady came out from the back. She was just finished getting treatment. I asked her what time she first arrived and she told me 4:00PM. The time was 11:30PM at that point. We walked out and I went home. It is a waste of time going to this hospital now. The front end staff are very rude; especially the triage nurse who was there and I don't know what the doctors are like anymore since that's twice in a row my daughter just simply didn't get to see one.
I had an amazing experience at the Queensway Carleton Hospital today! The staff were all friendly and seemed to genuinely care about the patients! All in all, I did not wait too long and I was seen, tested and diagnosed for a kidney stone in less than 5.5 hours. During Covid - I think that is pretty good! I would also like to mention that I was at the MontFord yesterday for the same issue and I waited 9.5 hours and was never seen - after I was brought in by ambulance in extreme pain! I came to the Queensway on my own the next day... It was like night and day between the 2 hospitals. The MontFord staff are almost evil and do not care about the patients - while as I mentioned above, the staff at the Queensway were great! Thanks again Queensway Carleton Hospital!
Excellent care provided by all staff from Emergency thru admitting, to specialists. Not where one wants to be, but all staff were pleasant, courteous, and professional. This hospital is kept clean, much unlike a previous experience at another city hospital. Confident that care is excellent here. UPDATE: The rating has been lowered because we're waiting 21 weeks 1 day for a CT scan. Doctors have submitted 8 requisitions and called the radiologist multiple times, and nothing! CT scans still have to happen during Covid when people require testing.
Professional staff.
Emergency nurses here are awful human beings. I found the entire experience at the ER to be very disturbing and left to the Montfort using the strength I had left. I wish I could give 0 stars.
I'm a trans woman. I went to the hospital due to a mental health breakdown and suicidal ideation. When I showed up, the receptionist looked at my healthcard and said "that doesn't look like a woman." While I finally did receive good care from the doctor, the transphobia I suffered made me leave the hospitalal worse than I came.
People should appreciate the great care they receive from that hospital. Medical staff are very kind, warm and highly professional. Any lengthy wait time reported by other reviewers are associated to the lack of resources/funding as well as most urgent cases are always prioritized - Everyone from the triage to final doctor review is a great experience provided by folks that truly cares - We're in a pandemic (still) and they are on the front line for us! - Everyone should say THANK YOU!
Outstanding hospital ! Doctors and ER nurses were very kind, understanding, friendly, helpful and very professional! I am in great shape after yesterday’s hernia operation . A big thank you to Dr. Eric Bigelow and his 9:20 am team
Gorgeous medical team and care would receive five stars but total lack of proper information, especially regarding day surgery patients (Patient Information Booklet lacking crucial information) make rating much lower.
I've been there twice now for unrelated issues over the past 6 months, once around 8am and another around 9pm. Each time I found the staff to be completely lovely. Of course wait times aren't always great, the first time I was there it took around 6hrs, but hey, the docs know when something is a life threatening issue v.s. when someone can wait. Its important that those who need it most get seen first. Thank you to the doctors, nurses, and support staff for providing as good of an experience as one can have when they attend an ER.
I recently was a patient at QCH From emergency to discharge, I have never had better health care Top notch From nurses to housekeeping every one was friendly, cheerful and attentive.
Excellent staff, clean facility, they truly take care of the patients.
DO NOT COME HERE TO THE ER AT 7 PM YOU WILL ONLY PASS THE NEXT DAY AT 8 AM ! HORABLE SERVICE I CAME HERE BECAUSE I HAD A INGROWN TOE NAIL AND MY FIANCÉ OVER BLEADING AND I PASSED AND SHE WAITED ALL NIGHT DOES THAT MAKE ANY SENCE ? I THINK NOT !
Came in to get a dose of pain medication needed to get me over for the night untill I could see my GP the following afternoon. It has been over 7.5 hours in an empty waiting room without seeing a single medical professional. Meanwhile everyone else who came before and after me has been seen. It would have litteraly taken 25 minutes tops to have me in and out the door. This is unacceptable. I am still sitting here waiting and told I'm now 3rd in line. To who? Everyone here has seen a doctor or left.
Best experience for our child birth. The nurses and all staff are so caring and compassionate. They take good care of the mom and baby. Even during the times of Covid-19, all the staff were super active for the patients needs.
Emergency department is a joke. Went to a local clinic and was told I needed to go to the hospital as their was not much they could do at the clinic. Arrived at the QCH at 7pm and moved fairly quickly through reception and registration. Probably only due to the fact their was 3 other people in emerg at the time. I was then called to move on to the next waiting area where i was put into an isolation room. I was there with a terrible cold and possible lung infection. Obvious problems breathing, very noticeable wheezing, I was pretty well struggling to breathe without hacking up mucous and/or coughing. I was in this back corner room from 7:45pm - 11:15pm with no acknowledgement from anyone. You could clearly hear i was in distress and nobody bothered to ask if I needed even something as simple as water. My boyfriend even asked the nurses station if somebody could bring me advil/tylenol for a headache and nobody ever came. Which, all three times he went up they were playing some game on the computer. Somebody with a sprained ankle was in after me and out hours before me. Ridiculous. I understand priorities but generally breathing problems should come before a simple sprain. I ended up walking out and leaving. Don't even bother with this hospital, just a waste of time.
Don't usually rate hospitals, but have to commend the QW Carleton for a fabulous experience. My previous visit to another hospital was less than ideal. I have to say that the triage nurse was very friendly and gave me the impression she really cared (hard dealing with so many people in a day), the next nurse at the actual ER was also nice and administered IV with meds painlessly and smiling through the process. My doctor was really good as well, explaining everything and reassuring me. So, basically from start to finish it was great. Also, watching interactions with other patients while my IV dripped left me feeling that it was a general theme and not just me. There was a fellow ( early twenties) that seemed to be off his meds and they handled his outbursts and disruption with a great deal of patience. I would compare my experience to some of the US hospitals I've "visited" over the years ( Harvard Medical Centre, Raleigh Hospital) and I had top tier health care at that point. So, thanks and keep up the good work!!!
I have been at the Emergency Department twice. Once last fall whereby I was admitted and last week when I experienced an allergic reaction to the CT scanner dye. As a retired RN, this was what I can share: everyone double and triple checked my name band for everything; every staff member who approached used Purrell BEFORE touching me and after finishing their examination; staff were great at explaining things as were doctors, physiotherapists, dieticians. I am vegetarian and there was a variety of food, it was hot when served and delicious. Porters were gentle and considerate, and volunteers were really helpful. It has that community feel, and I think they are top notch.
Not a nice place to visit. But I dont think Government cares about our reviews.
Keep in mind, the hospital was empty at the time, and my wait time was non existent. I was there maybe 1.5 hrs for a shoulder injury, which included an x-ray. I was very impressed. Everyone of the staff that I interacted with was excellent, every single one, from the emergency reception to the registration to the triage doctor. Everyone, except Amanda Martin, who was the rudest person I've ever met. Her only job, from what I could gather, was to direct people to their rooms in the emergency triage unit. I guess even that is too stressful for her. The fact that my tax dollars pay her salary is pathetic. If anyone in the private sector acted the way she clearly thinks is acceptable, they would be fired on the spot. Reprehensible and discusting. Usually when you hate your job, you quit. Is she autistic? That's the only possible explanation I could ever accept... Will update review to five stars if she is fired.
It's a slow wait but that's every where bring a Nintendo , I was getting very hangry the nurse gave me an excellent egg sandwiche it hit the spot , they are really good here ,
Best hospital experience I ever had. Everyone was friendly and respectful. By the time I got in to the time I got out, it was about 3-4 hours for a mild concussion and a few tests. The people were nice as I was translating in my head and patient. Probably the best service I could have excepted!
What rude disrespectful people work here. A Dr. Lahey refused to explain to my brother what problems he was having with his health, he came in woke him up and told him to leave the hospital because he had an argument with a nurse who wouldn't allow my brother to even check in to get looked at because he was groaning from a stomach pain. That's pathetic service no matter what industry and that fact that happened in a hospital is mind boggling another nurse had to check him in because the first one refused, a nurse doesn't not get to decided who is and isn't looked at and taken care of. If there is a serious medical issue with my brothers health I will be seeking legal action. We know he has some kind of internal bleeding but doctors have not been able to pin point this issue and for him to be denied care because someone didn't like him is disgusting. He is attending college at Carlton and is now entirely uncomfortable with his situation because he is worried that he can't get proper health care. Which is a situation he should not be in.
Very fast and efficient staff. They are knowledgeable and helpf
I had my apenditis taken there and my daughter was born at this hospital. A special one for me.
Wait times in emergency are beyond ridiculous. I've been here for 10 hours. Our entire health care system is a joke. How can you have 1 doctor working overnights. There are one million people in Ottawa and 1 doctor working nights at each hospital in the city. Something needs to change.
This place save my Father's life. He was in the ICU here for a while and the care was awesome. I am forever thankful to this hospital.
I can only say how happy I am that there is still good people out there that care. My wife was scared for her health and the doctor made sure he cross all T before sending her home. Thank you all at QCH!!!
Queensway Carlton Hospital Covid-19 vaccine clinic was incredibly organized and timely. The whole experience was so easy and efficient.
I called and asked if someone can wait with me inside as it's 1hr drive she said yep no worries. Just can't go In with the doctor. Get there then they say no sorry someone can't wait with you so now there driving 1hr back home then they gotta drive 1hr back to get me.
I was there on January 12th as I broke my ankle. The staff at ER were running like crazy. Kennedy, you were my angel and I will never forget you. Thank you Kennedy and to all the staff. Some day, I will find a way to repay you.
Best hospital in Ottawa. The staff is very efficient, helpful and caring. I've been here for 4 day patient procedures and from entering for registration to time of departure, I felt safe.
I have to add my negative opinion of this hospital. I had to wait just over 8 hours in the emergency room before I received attention for splintered bones in my face. The actual x-rays ant Cat Scan only took about 40 minutes, but i was allowed to occupy a bed in the patient room for several hours whilst they processed the results. Subsequent follow up with Dr S. Chitte was a hassle with abrasive uncooperative tone of voice from the person who makes his appointments.
Worst service ever, writing this review while still sitting in waiting room for 5 hours and nobody seems to care or have an answer as how much longer it could be, before you see a doctor. Worst part of it is I can’t leave because I have so much pain and my stupid family doctor has taken 3 months vacation.
So bad, 7 hours waiting, nurses are so rude. Patients are suffering while nurses enjoy their chating with Timhortons coffe. They are good in one thing which is moving people from one waiting room to another.
Recently I had to visit the Emergency Room on December 13th, 2017 with chest pain, Dr. Nicholson and his team were quick to take us in, the staff were all very professional and knowledgeable. Dr. Nicholson himself was on duty and was excellent, friendly, and very attentive. I appreciate everything they did to make our visit as pleasant as they can in the circumstances.
The Queensway Carleton Hospital is incredibly efficient and well organized. The medical professionals and staff are kind, polite, fast, professional, and thorough. I really appreciated it! Great job Queensway Carleton!
Had six hour checkup at Emergency. The care team is incredibly good, fast and caring. Very happy to be told all OK, but follow up with family doctor.
First visit at this hospital's ER. From registration to being seen by a doctor to xray then back to same doctor for result = 2 hours 15 minutes. Very impressed. Friendly staff.
Have had multiple trips to QCH including the birth of my son. The staff, nurses, and doctors here are amazing. It's always been a positive experience.
I am only giving 4 stars as my first visit there was met by a receptionist at the ER who actually made me feel so guilty I left with a fever of almost 40 celsius and hardly able to breathe. Skip forward several months I had to go in for an allergic reaction. Luckily it was late enough that there was no reception in the ER. Skipped straight to the triage nurse who was efficient and quite lovely. The ER nurse that brought me in was a peach. And then my doctor was also quite nice and despite being busy was able to answer my questions. I know a lot of the reviews come from people who really don't understand the system. Wait times and priority given to other people is not a reason for 1 star, and a lot of people on here think their doctor Google degree means if the doc disagrees with them there is mal practice involved. Figure out the reception issue and all is fine from my perspective.
Do not go if you have mental health issues... Doctors like James ward will doubt you even if symptoms are obvious.
Always fast and all the staff from volunteers to doctors are very kind and understanding
I don't often write reviews but I came in sick with chest issues. Coming expecting a 6+hour wait, I got x-rays, blood work, ecg, and a covid test, and results all within an hour and a half. Everyone was friendly and probably my best experience at a hospital. Great job!
I, Margaret Grant, was in the Queensway-Carleton Hospital 2 weeks ago with major surgery, a hysterectomy and oophorectomy, and I have to say that I was treated really well by the staff over there. The nurses were caring, kind and friendly and my doctor, Dr. Beshara, did an amazing job. My surgery went smoothly with no complications thanks to the QC team. Even the food was good - yes - hospital food was tasty and nutritious! Even though I was nervous going in, the professionalism and care of the nursing staff made me feel much better. Thank you all. - Margaret Grant
Nurses are unfriendly, no explanation for the waits and delays. My daughter was in the worst pain in her life, vomiting blood and the nurses didn't check on her once after she was registered. They obviously pushed her back in the priority list until we were the last ones seen. Avoid this ER if you can.
Probably the friendliest hospital staff I have ever encountered -- nurses, custodial staff, doctors, ...everyone.
Most unprofessional staff, nurses at entrance kiosks are rude. Went for severe pain in knee, was not even touched or xrayed. Went immediately to the General afterwards and was diagnosed with a septic knee, had surgery the same night. Avoid the Queensway !!
I've never had a good experience here. My most recent one was with the pre-registration department for when you're pregnant and need to let them know your date so they will have a spot for you to give birth. My midwife group doesn't have privileges there, which is totally fine I'll just go to another hospital, but it wasn't explained on the phone that they only work with ONE midwife group in the Ottawa area. So I was confused about why I wasn't able to register online. I called to maybe do it over the phone and before she could mute me and put me on hold, I could hear here complaining about me to her co-worker. Very unprofessional! The staff at this hospital are not friendly.
The surgeon is great but if you can survive the nurses, you're doing good. Most of the nurses are bullies and frustrated with their job. Yet the other nurses are as caring as can be and fight with the mean nurses. I was due for pain meds and rang the bell. My mean nurse said she was going on break and give them to me when she returned. A nice nurse volunteered to bring me my pain meds and she said no. He is my patient and he can wait till I return from my break. Nice eh? Yet another time a nice nurse whom I had the previous day knew I needed pain meds and came from another wing to give me my pain meds. Nice nurses should be recognized more and the mean ones punished. A lot of the code white is a result of these mean nurses.
I have been to emergency and attend the Diabetic clinic. I have only had good experiences, nice staff, speedy service and well organized. I switched from the Riverside Hospital where i had many bad experiences.
I came in for a day surgery on July 21. Going in for any kind of surgery is not my idea of fun but every member of the staff there was so attentive and kind. I felt compelled to provide some feedback especially since I had no chance to say thank you to many of them. The last time I had any kind of surgery was when I had my tonsils removed over 50 years ago. So I was a bit on edge as I checked in. The staff was very friendly and courteous, and there was never any hesitation as to what the next steps in the processing were. The surgeon and anesthetist answered any question I had before being wheeled in to the OR. I woke up and after a bit of rest was helped to dress to catch my ride home. Yes I loved the whole experience... as much as one can love going in for surgery.
Amazing maternity ward.
I wish I could leave no stars! All the staff are incredibly mean. They’ve all thought each other that this behaviour is acceptable. They treat sick people like like third and fourth class citizens. Especially this Asian lady at the emergency kiosk! I can’t explain in words such horrible treatment I’m witnessing.
My dad had a stroke on the weekend so my family took him to the Queensway Carleton hospital. After waiting all morning for his blood tests results, they cleared my dad to go back home when he was still incapable of walking, dizzy and nowhere near better. My dad asked one of the nurses if there was anything he could take to make him feel better and he said, "try a gravol." So we took my dad back home for an hour and of course his symptoms started getting worse. So we rushed him to the civic hospital and they admitted him right away. It turned out that he had a brain stem stroke. There have been times where I've experienced good service here. But after my many experiences at the QCH, it really seems as though they'd rather process as many people as possible than treat as many people as possible.
Lovely nursing and front desk staff. The Doctor I saw was very friendly and professional. Thanks for doing what you do.
I went to the emergency room. The receptionist & nurses were nice. The doctor was unprofessional. I waited 3 - 4 hours to be seen for less than 5 minutes told that I should take Benadryl & Ibuprofen for very bad swelling, blisters & ingrown nails due to complications from a not common form of eczema. I got a referral to a dermatologist which I appreciate. A little bit more help would have been nice. The best part was when I left almost in tears after the less than 5 minutes with the doctor. When I was leaving & asking a question I basically got told that my health issues aren’t as important as other people in the waiting room & why am I there? I thought to myself “I’m here for complications from the eczema & have fingers & toes swollen to the point of needing drainage and I’m in pain!”
To the woman at the emergency intake with black , wavy , shoulder length hair; treat people like human beings. It doesn’t take much to simply acknowledge someone and tell them you’ll be with them in a minute. If you hate your job at the hospital then quit!
The wait wasn’t long and the doctor was super nice however I went in because I was having an asthma attack and the nurse at the triage actually LAUGHED at me for hyperventilating from my asthma and overall was rude and unpleasant
Worst hospital in the city. Uneducated nurses, inattentive doctors, rude receptionists. The whole place needs to be shut down.
Severely understaffed, incredibly uncompassionate, massively underfunded. They will smile in your face and watch you die in the waiting room waiting to get seen by a doctor. Seems like this has been a problem here for years and years and they seemingly have made no effort to improve their system. It's EXACTLY hospitals like this that give Canadian healthcare a bad name.
Great food, caring staff for the most part all trying to get you healthy and back to your own home !
Pathetic brought my girlfriend here because she started losing vision and couldn't see now waiting in emerge for over 3 hours without even speaking to anyone and there is only 12 other people besides us some have waited last night only to be sent home and have to come back
Front staff is terrible Shame on them for getting paid with tax payers money They have no respect no courtsey for the patients Emergency wait times are 8-10 hrs Also there was no cleaning or disinfectation in place Receptionist ( i think a nurse in purple shrugs )was terrible and was screaming for no reason Why dont they put such miserable people to deal with public
The staff are very friendly. Truely do the best that they can for each person, they are understanding and kind. Love this hospital.
If you are brought to the hospital in handcuffs by police you are seen right away. If your in extreme pain!!!! Well, to bad for you! You have to wait over 5 hours.
Waiting time in emergency sucks the big one
Worst hospital , they send high schoolers to train on your medical condition ER in the hospital is a bad joke
Doctors in Canada are incompetent and waste of resources, the only thing that Canada's health care has that is better than what we have in China is its medicines and way of curing people, but that won't do you any good if the incompetent doctors can't even tell what your sickness is. We really need a change in Canada's health care.
I brought my friend at 12.30 am to the hospital and doctor was not there to attend him for at least 4hours. While he was in pain for more than 5 hours.
The ER is FILTHY, the floor is covered in a thick layer of visible grime, chairs/wheelchairs are not cleaned after people sit in them with contagious sicknesses. Cabinets are broken in patient rooms and nurses desks, and cleaning is only done to a very surface level quality. Everything seems worn out, old, and dirty. There were some kind nurses, but I overheard many making fun of patients and even being mean to their faces or telling them that they didn’t believe they were sick. I clearly needed help several times during my visit and had nurses walk by me/look at me and not offer help. The ER room was very empty but still managed to take me 5.5 hours to leave. If I’m ever in a serious accident this is the last place I’d want to be treated. I’m not sure if this is the hospitals fault or the health care system’s fault but this is not what a Canadian hospital should look like.
Very unprofessional and rude service for the most part. Met a very select few that are excellent and more what I'd expect from medical staff. This feels like a culture of its own. Ask how the procedure went, or anything about when or how something will happen and all you hear is "I don't know" or even quite rudely "How am I supposed to know that?". Anything else is answered with "that's hospital policy". They answer family member's questions the same. Been here a few times and could have used support, but it seems spouse is not considered family and can't come into certain areas where I know for a fact it's not a problem at other hospitals. Unfortunately I'm at the hospital a fair amount in my life and this one takes the cake for unfriendly and unprofessional service. It doesn't need to be a hotel, but people need the emotional support from staff and family as well. The procedure done feels botched too. I've had a few of these and it was never this invasive before. It was also day surgery, I shudder to think of coming here for emergency surgery. I'll be refusing to come here from now on. Wait times and such unfortunately happen everywhere, but the attitude and policies here are unreal!
I felt on the ice and have dislocated shoulder I went to the emergency they let me in quickly and they did x_ray Then i was told nothing in my arm and to leave. After 1 week of pain i have a call from the hospital to come back because i have broken shoulder When i saw the xray with the new doctor i cant believe that she didnt know that its broken and its very clear I wish i can post the pic to every one see how much its clear Maybe now i need a surgery because of this d.r fault
Trying to locate X-Ray Dept using this site BUT CAN'T seem to locate directions HOW to Get THERE?
This hospital leaves a bad taste in my mouth, especially since we are here everyday for my husbands cancer treatments..they don't give free parking passes to the people who are coming here fighting for their lives everyday...shame..shame..considering every other hospital gives free parking vouchers to cancer patients..Quennsway Carleton is all about the money. Secondly, the security guards have huge chip on their shoulders and they wouldn't crack a smile if you paid them, they need to get off there little power trip and lose the attitude their is no need for a security guard to treat people that way!
The staff is so rude! If there is 0 stars i would pick it.
Birthing Unit: my daughter was having her first child but was turned away not one, but twice. Her doctor which is wonderful was not involved. First time being turned away was kind of understandable maybe (although I am informed by other hospitals this is not normal in her situation, first kid, 20 years old) and second time, when she was 5 minutes apart, she was told to go home, take a bath, take two extra strength Tylenols. All this said on the phone behind a locked door while she's in pain. I am NOT kidding. We did not go to the Queensway for her birth which is unfortunate because her doctor was so good for her. What a horrible, horrible experience to be treated that way when you're only 20 years old and having your first baby, afraid and in pain. How so very very unwelcoming and so very cold. I don't know what excuse they have ready for this behaviour but Thanksgiving weekend and short of staff is NOT an excuse for the treatment she got. My daughter is a quiet girl so she was basically dismissed. This was failure from the birthing unit on a very high scale and from more than one staff. I go add other rude behaviors we have experience with this hospital (and this while we kept our calm) but I would be taking up too much space. So so disgusted with this awful cold-hearted experience!
I don't even know where to start. When I first got to the hospital I went into the main doors and spoke to a nurse behind the glass. she told me I needed to go to emerge and to go outside (it was cold and pouring rain and I was having difficulty walking due to pain) and go to the white tents. I walked around the building and couldn't find any white tents, so I went back and asked her about it and she asked her co-worker if they'd taken the tents down and they had and she said to me "oops". Usually "I'm sorry" is a more appropriate response when you send a sick person to the wrong place. The triage nurse who saw me was ill-tempered. When I asked which arm she wanted to take my blood pressure with she said she didn't care in an irritated voice. My blood pressure is consistently textbook normal. When she took it she asked me what it usually is and I couldn't remember the numbers (I was sick, in pain, exhausted) and said "textbook usually" and when I asked her what that was she said "for a young male?" Good gawd, I'm a middle-aged woman! When she put on the hospital bracelet she put it too tight and later I had to take it off because it was pushing into my wrist. When I was put in one of the ER waiting rooms I clearly heard the ER Dr. talking about a patient on the phone. She used his name, diagnosis and medication changes. For all to hear!!!! When this Dr. saw me, she said she would order a test, but I would have to come back tomorrow. She told me they would call me in the morning to schedule it and gave me some papers to show when I came back. I never heard from them. This is my second really poor experience with this hospital.
If you are sick and seeking comfort by going to the emergency. DONT GO!!!! the while triage staffs is the worst by far. They are rude, non passionate, Eggo, and dum. They make you feel you are unwelcome. I had an pneumoniae and with that kind of treatment I went to walking clinic which was not the best option for my case. Then I had to suffer 4 day with the case. Then I went to the general.
Went to QCH in a paranoid state as the wrong drug could kill me. I had to wait 3 days at another hospital to get the correct medication from a doctor that remembered me. Still had a heart issue. I insisted on going to QCH and they got me out of my stupor. They made sure all my problems were addressed, gave me the right medication with much kindness it melted my problems and fixed them. They gave me a card from their hospital and I need care now to quote them "you come here." Thank you QCH. You make me feel like I count.
Only one doctor for overnight makes a emergency call wait forever. Nurse does not know how to get blood from the patient. They tried 5 times to get blood from my girlfriend and it took them half hour, once again, this is an emergency call! One of the nurse seems not familiar with her job at all. All her action was telling me she was confused what she was doing and after 15 mins, she finally called for help.
Friendly and helpful staff!
I was seen immediately by reception. ER nurses wonderful and professional. Also Doctor N. Capella-Desjardins was thorough, excellent manner. Everyone made me confident enough to go home after 9 hours of treatment on Sunday, November 8, 2020. Thank you so much.!
This hospital's ER staff ARE STRESSED TO THE MAX. AND SOME ARE TAKING THEIR FRUSTRATION OUT ON PATIENTS. I was going to RATE IT as DISLIKE...but in all fairness... They Just need to either ASK THE ROUTINELY GRUMPY NURSES TO RETIRE EARLY... or DO SOMETHING ABOUT THEM. They do the proper blood work and follow up but, sometimes you have to stand your ground especially if you don't feel well or safe enough to go home. DON'T LET THE STAFF BULLY YOU. GOOD LUCK
Great staff
I would give this hospital a zero if I could. PLEASE DO ME A FAVOR AND DO NOT COME HERE. STAFF DOESNT CARE HORRIBLE DOCTORS. MY GRANDMOTHER DIED BECAUSE THEY PUT HER FROM FULL CARE TO NO CARE WITHOUT OUR PERMISSION AND THEN THEY NOT ONLY CAUSED DRAMA BUT THEY HAD NO HEART. NO COMPASSION. EVERYONE NEEDS TO STAY AWAYYYY FROM THIS HOSPITAL. ITS A DEATH WISH!!!!! They’re unprofessional very arrogant so much attitude. We asked for chairs for 6 hours. Not to mention we paid for the room. STAFF THREW a paper at me and refused to tell me her name because I said I was shocked at the service there. HER NAME WAS AUTUMN IN ACC C3. Not to mention the doctors are horrible the nurses just fool around do nothing.
Yes the wait is a bit long for emergency, but so is any hospital. They really do their best to help everyone get through. I cannot write enough on how amazing the doctors and staff are!!!
Horrible service. A person called Annouch was on the reception he is rude and not helpful he looked at me and didn’t even acknowledge my pain. Wait is more than 7 hours
Went there for my Covid shot and it was a very smooth experience. I never had to wait more than 5 minutes. They give you free parking so go ahead and use the lot. Honestly, 10X better than I expected it to be.
