You have all the feddbacks of people like you who use the services and products of Princess Animal Hospital (Hospital) in Gananoque territory (Canada).
At present the business gets a rating of 4.5 stars over 5 and the rating was based on 127 reviews.
As you can read, it has an average rating is almost the best one, and it is based on a very high number of feddbacks, so we may conclude that the assessment is very accurate. If many people have bothered to rate when they've done well, is that it works.
You know that we do not usually stop to give tatings when they are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Hospital is classified in the category of Animal hospital.
Very pleasant, answered any questions we had. All the employees were good with our dog, took special care to make sure he felt safe. We were impressed
Very kind and caring staff. Very devastating day loosing my best friend, Toby, the Dr and staff very kind and gentle with him and very kind and caring to me.
Everyone here is kind, patient and informative. I trust that my pets are always getting the best care which is all we can ever ask for our furry family members.
Great staff very friendly and awesome to deal with. They helped me with my cat and made dealing with her loss alot easier than it could have been
I want to Thank All the Staff n Doctors for being there when our Baby Girl Celine was so sick, thanks for being there when we needed you.
So grateful for the excellent level of care my rats have received here. I have used both their 24hr emergency clinic and booked regular appointments and been happy with all my experiences. While a lot of the appointments have been through the phone because of COVID, I have appreciated the thorough communication and exceptional care my boys have received.
From the moment they answered my call, to the moment we left the parking lot, Princess Animal Hospital exceeded my expectations for a 24hr emergency vet hospital. They were compassionate and patient with my large breed dog and a doting dog-mom like me. My Boerboel ingested so much sand at the beach we went to that morning, and come the evening, she was shaking and vomiting. I was incredibly worried and took her straight to the hospital. I expected to wait for a long time at emerge, and for them to see more critical patients first, but luckily it was a slower night. They were able to see Megatron and figure out what she needed right away. They gave her a shot, some meds and some GI food for home. She was so perky and so happy when she came out, that I knew they treated her like one of their own. She was feeling better the next morning! A great big thank you to Dr. Caudle and the staff at Princess Animal Hospital for taking care of my girl.
(Translated) Great service! There are great caregivers and doctors who can make long-term pet health plans for you, and you do n’t have to worry about the health of your pet baby anymore! Close to downtown, it is a great choice for me. (Original) 很棒的服务!有很棒的护工和医生,为你做好宠物长期的健康计划,再也不用担心宠物宝贝的健康啦!离downtown很近,对我来说是一个很棒的选择。
Took our 3 year old tabby here today to get him emergency care as he hasn't been himself for the last two days, not making a BM while also puking and not eating... which I would classify as an emergency. Unfortunately we waited 3 hours outside without being seen or spoken to. I would call every hour to check in to see if we would be able to have an estimate and was told to continue to wait as they have other appointments. Im not sure what classifies an emergency vet clinic other than being open 24 hours but it seemed like they had no regard for the well being of our cat. We left after 3 hours in hopes that we might be able to get him in somewhere else. I would like to add that we were very kind and polite the whole time. In future this clinic might benefit from more staffing as well as organizational management.
It is wonderful to find an Animal Hospital with very caring staff. I know my baby Yorkie girl is in good hands. I wasn't comfortable trimming her nails, but the Dr. took the time to show me exactly how to do it, and how to look at the trimmed nail to determine if it could be shorter. I know I have found the perfect place to look after Suzi's health, and a bonus, the hospital is just a kilometer from my home.
My cat has some chronic health conditions and I am very happy and grateful that she has been cared for by the doctors and assistants at Downtown (Princess) Animal Hospital. We have consistently received the most pleasant and effective attention possible, which has made Rala's problems far less of an ordeal than they potentially could have been. A total Thumbs Up!!!
First puppy visit went well. Dr L and staff made our new baby feel comfortable and not the least bit nervous.
I was concerned about my cat's behaviour and called to see if we needed to come in. The person who answered the phone calmly triaged my cat's symptoms and gave me all the right answers to keep him safe without being alarmist. I haven't even had an appointment here but will definitely be booking one soon!
just moved from the UK and needed my cats to be checked over, I contacted Princess Animal Hospital online and they bent over backwards to help me. They offered flexible times and a quick appointment. the practice is clean and friendly, In the UK my cats were nervous at the vets but both boys were stress free and care and attention was given to both. We were not rushed and I felt the price was very reasonable
This is not my usual vet but I will be switching. My vet has turned me away twice, once for emergency care and again for spay. Princess was SO accommodating and took me in right away for the emergency care. I needed my puppy's spay ASAP to follow the breeder's contract and when my normal vet told me it'd be another 4 month wait due to scheduling error on their part I panicked. Princess was so kind and professional and scheduled me an appointment within the month. My experience with them has been wonderful and I truly appreciate their care and their last minute accommodations.
I am always very satisfied with the staff at PAH. They are always available to answer questions. Staff are always friendly and welcoming which makes the experience comfortable myself and my dog Puma.
They were the only one willing to treat my hedgehog over the weekend, while she was peeing blood everywhere. She's happily running around again thanks to their great care!
Best place to take your furry friend! Kind, compassionate, and professional
I had to wait 3 hours for the emergency service. I took my sick hamster in and they told me it would cost 200 dollars to have her euthanized. I took her to a humane society and they did it for 45 dollars. I spent 200 dollars for 4 days worth of pain meds and an exam, which I thought was too much.
They are awesome and very welcoming, we felt like we were visiting friends their interaction with our puppy Bailey was comfortable, we recommend them
Dr Lang was amazing with our ferret, very knowledgeable, and kind. Pocket seemed to be perfectly relaxed around him
Always really good with my rats, very gentle and calm. Doctors will sit on the floor to make her comfortable rather than making her sit on the wide open exam table. Always very willing to listen and work with us. Overall really great care.
Our cats have all received wonderful care at Princess Animal Hospital. All of the veterinarians and vet techs are friendly and professional. They take the time to explain what is needed and follow-up by phone or email. Dr. Ouellet has also followed up with specialists when required and passed along that information to us. As a (human) health care professional, I greatly appreciate their expertise and the care they provide.
Everyone there are warm and inviting and very professional. I am new to Kingston and I am so happy I chose this place to take my cat when he was not feeling well. I was able to be seen right away.I can not say enough good things about them. I will continue to use them now for both my cats. June,2009 The only drawback is the price. I also felt a lot of marketing was going on. Like to buy special cat food,a special toothpaste, repeated blood tests even though my cat was now fine.I had at one time 2 dogs and the 3 cats and living rural in Quebec where we had a local vet. For the price I paid here for 1 cat I could have vaccinated all of my 5 animals for the same price in Quebec and we had been going to the same place for over 25 years. There are too many Hospitals and not just regular vets and that's why it's soooo expensive.
My dog, Beau, needed emergency attention today.. I called and they took him right away! The vet and vet tech were great when explaining what had happened and gave me some options on how to proceed with taking care of his health. I also left my phone in the cab on the way there... and they called me one from the clinic and arranged to have my cell delivered to my house.
I have been a client of Princess Animal Hospital's for just over 2 years now - and have had only the best of experiences! My dog Phoenix had many special medical needs, with which the staff and veterinarians worked tirelessly to manage and control. They really went above and beyond with Phoenix. I would happily and enthusiastically recommend Princess Animal Hospital and look forward to bringing my new puppy in for her appointments!
I recently joined this clinic to care for my 2 cats. My first experience was terribly sad in that one of my cats was very ill and ultimately had to be humanely euthanized... but I cannot say enough about the tremendous support, caring and kindness to my dear sweet Benka and me as we worked through every step of very hard decisions about Benka's care. This is by far the BEST veterinary clinic I've ever worked with. I look forward to happier times caring for the health of my other cat Baba. To Dr Caudle and his wonderful staff who were amazing! Hugs to you all. In loving memory of Benka I attach a photo of her.
I highly recommend Princess Animal Hospital to anyone that wants to be treated like a loving pet owner, and not just a dollar bill. The staff that work there are top notch in their caring nature for the animals that are brought to them. One walk inside their doors and you would never know it was a vet clinic. I have never been in a vet clinic before that smells so clean. I love it there. We just had to say good bye to a beloved feline family member a few weeks ago. The care that we as a family and Tootsie as a patient received was outstanding. From recognizing our pain to helping Tootsie deal with hers in a very professional and loving manner. I just want to say Thank You Princess Animal Hospital. You are ALL amazing people!!!!!
I have always appreciated the extreme care and compassion they show to my cats. They really take the time to fully understand and explore all issues you may have with your pet and work with you to find the best solution at the price point that you are comfortable at. I have nothing but the utmost respect and trust in the vets and the staff at Princess Animal Hospital. Dr. Ouellet saved Daisy's life and for that I will be forever grateful. Dr. Greenwood took the time and had the patience to explore the issues that I'm having with Rory and coming up with a plan to help her. Her kind words made the struggle and effort worth it and it was very touching to be acknowledged and heard. I would recommend this place to everyone who has a furry family member.
This is the best Animal hospital I've been to, the price is reasonable, the service is great, everyone is super nice.
Kidney failure internal bleeding/Hemorrhage and poor heart function. $1,452,00 later of unauthorized medical procedures we find out by the vet "sorry we don't think he'll make it". durrrrr. "would you like to watch us put him down"....#PrincessAnimalHospital
Took us in quickly and took great care of our bunny. Called the next day for follow up to ensure his meds were helping
My pets are always treated so well at Princess Animal Hospital. Dr. Jeff Latimer is such a kind, caring, compassionate vet and he not only treats the animals so well but he makes the owners feel cared about as well. You can see how much he truly loves animals. Dr. Caudle is also very caring and a great vet; I haven't had much experience with Dr. Ouellet, but I would assume that since she is a part of the team at PAH, she would be caring as well. The support staff are just as caring and considerate as the vets. All in all I highly recommend them. They are all so knowledgable.
My little shihtzu x Minion started vomiting blood and had blood in her stool, both my regular vet and my girlfriends vet said don't bother bringing her all the way to either city as that can be pretty serious so I googled Kingston vets and the first one I tried that had good reviews couldn't take me. The second with good reviews was this one so I got an appointment that day as a new client at the 1027 Bayridge location. My own personal health issues lately has left me often very confused and unable to process information well and my partner wasn't there yet. Even though I was late getting there as I had to take a cab, they still saw me but just explained that they'd have to step out for a bit to see the next client and then could come back. I was there past closing time, my partner who gets very vocal when stressed and I who couldn't figure one thing out, didn't feel rushed or like we were an inconvenience. I had 52$ to my name and was desperately trying to figure out how to get the pet card to cover costs. During all this the staff and doctor made phone calls for me, repeated information as needed to me and my partner, gave me all my options and prices - understanding I didn't have a lot of money and wasn't trying to pressure me into any one treatment as some can do just trying to get the most money. It was my decision and didn't feel like any less of a person for whatever one I chose. Finding out the costs of some treatments just about crushed me as I'm used to smaller city vets and much lower costs, but my partner says they are fairly inexpensive for Kingston. I knew no matter what that if needed I could get whatever money was needed to treat her via begging some family, and I don't think I can afford them for regular vet care at this time so most will be done out of town but should I have another emergency I will call them to see what I can do, and would recommend them to anyone. When I finally broke down and crying on the phone to my mom that I was afraid my dog was going to die I was brought some Kleenex, and days following Dr. Fitzgerald checked in on us and gave me all the advice she could. I don't think I could've asked for a better doctor or better care. Thank you Dr. Fitzgerald and staff for everything. (I'm sorry I don't remember the rest of your names, I even tried really hard to look at your name tags even though I'm bad with names as is but I'll always remember you and how awesome you were)
Wonderfully warm and compassionate staff. Dr. Lang and everyone there is very thorough and works with a holistic and empathetic approach. They made a very stressful time for me much, much better. Thank you.
Brought my cat who was very ill, they saw him right away and were very informative about our options and how to proceed. They were very supportive and nice. I am very thankful for the staff there.
Waited for 2 hours only to be told our sick dog wouldn't be seen due to a c section. Not sure that was an emergency or just more lucrative. Not capable in my opinion to see everyone who arrived might want to increase your capacity versus sending away sick dogs.
This hospital is the best hospital I have ever been to. The staff are absolutely amazing with both the owners and furry friends. This team goes above and beyond in all aspects. I have never met more caring individuals. I feel very lucky to have had their support, especially recently with my own fur babies.
We have had nothing but positive experiences at Princess Animal Hospital. When we first bought our yorkie, we were new to pet ownership and very green. Both Dr. Latimer and Dr. Caudle were very encouraging and made us feel at ease. When our pup ate an ibuprofen, Dr. Ouellet and her staff made time in their busy schedules to take him in right away and take care of him to help avoid any long term consequences. Everyone there is very patient, even when our pup is not as cooperative as we would like. It is a great feeling to know you have support when you need it! Thank you, Princess Animal Hospital!
Went to Princess at 3:15AM from the Ottawa area, as they were the only ones available to see a sick 8 month old puppy. Professional service in the middle of the night. Thank you
I switched my vet because of the price. we have the same high quality care and friendly staff. The reason I wrote a review is so I can say thank you for the wonderful experience my puppy's got on his 1st appointment. I just have to find a less expensive charges. I paid $220.00 and I'm so shocked! Didn't expect that much. $93.00 for stool exam, I know that it came w a free 1st exam so imagine if its not. I thought how much would the second and next appointments will be for my puppy will be. I just decided to cancel the appointment because I was traumatized w the amount I spent, I'm not rich. not being rude here or anything as I've said I still appreciate the friendliness. As I have indicated, we have switched vet because of the pricing. If your clinic was really concern about charging the customer correctly, the doctor could have opted right there and ask me if this and that is okay. I understand the vaccinations charges BUT for stool exam charges of $93.00??? it's crazy! I didn't even get the result. I have to call and ask. Then the person who answered the phone claimed they were trying to reach me, yes they are, not for the stool exam result but for the next appointment. I have it in my voice mail message. it's a really disappointing experience. I felt like I was robbed my hard earned money. I am unsure as to why the owner needs me to e mail him. It's quite clear your clinic over charged me.
Today I received the most unprofessional customer service. Won't be returning.
Dr Latimer is such a wonderful doctor and person. His group of doctors are compassionate and caring and his hospital is state of the art.
I very much recommend the Princess Animal Hospital or their second location the Downtown Animal Hospital. Everyone here is so friendly and great with animals. Thank you so much to everyone for all you do for our animals!
In February of this year I was gifted a kitten, the first cat I've had in 10+ years, never really been to a vet before so I wanted to do things right this time. The first thing I did was Google a few places around town, when I came across all the good reviews for PAH I just had to try them out, and boy am I glad I did! My entire interaction with PAH has been nothing but pleasant, what I really appreciated is how kind and patient their receptionist is, she answered all my questions in a kind and cheerful manner, which is more than I can say for some of the other offices around town. Lincoln and I were definitely satisfied with our very first vet visit, thank you to the team at PAH for taking such good care of us!
My pug some how broke her dew claw. We went to the triage, and even though it was 8 hrs before we were seen, they were great. They had to remove her nail , wrap it in a bandage, gave her medication for pain and a cone. I didn't have enough money, so they didn't charge me for the bandage and are letting me pay them the rest when I bring her in September for a check-up. The staff are amazing. They are very understanding of everyone's different situations. I highly recommend this place for your pets care!!
Dr. Greenwood did an amazing job at trying to keep our sweet boy alive. Unfortunately, he had to be put down yesterday due to what she thinks was liver disease. Since the beginning, she worked hard to try and diagnose our cat but he was a mystery! Thank you for everything, we appreciate it so much!
The staff are numerous, friendly, and understanding. The level of care is very good. They are very communicative. They are understanding of budget restraints, but consistent in pressing for the best possible care.
We had a positively awesome experience bringing Zipper (our cat) here for after-hours care. He had a ruptured gland and everyone we spoke with was so kind and helpful. From the lady we spoke to on the phone to the veterinarian and assistant, it was a wonderful trip and he was taken care of very well. He’s now fully recovered and back to his old self. Thank you Dr. Doyle!
My wife got the dog's shots and a quote for a dental cleaning. They suggested my wife get the dog's blood work first in preparation for the cleaning. Well the blood work was $217 alone. The quote for the cleaning was $819 for a dog that weighs 17lbs. Even though we were already wrapped in thanks to the blood work, we went looking else where. Found another Vet on Division St. that charged us 565 + tax and INCLUDED blood work. Even after the extra consultation charge, we still saved $81 on the $819 quoted from Princess Animal Hospital. Sadly, we still lost out on the cost of the blood work. UPDATE: Monica at Princess Animal Hospital seen my review and felt bad that we essentially paid twice for the blood work and offered me a refund for that portion. I must say that even though we found their price to be higher that their customer service is top notch. I have changed my review to reflect that.
Thank you for these reviews. Please see below a little summary of who we really are and why we do what we do. Sincerely,Dr. Jeff Latimer
I have been going to PAH for 10+ years and find this to be an excellent clinic. I think I went to every other one in Kingston before I found them :-) I believe that some vets have settled into a life of annual check-ups and vaccinations, but are not really able to deal with more complicated illnesses. The staff is always cheerful and helpful. They contact you after any kind of treatment to make sure your pet is OK, phone/email reminders when your pet is due for shots, treatments, etc., go out of their way to find you an appt time that is convenient for you. They have all the up-to-date high tech equipment at PAH so there is no long wait for most test results The main reason that I go to this clinic is because of Dr. Jeff Latimer. I have seen many vets over the years, but I find him to be the most knowledgeable, caring and thorough. He looks at all of the possibilities for any condition and does not hesitate to consult specialists. He answers all of my questions without making me feel that I am wasting his time. He explains things in great detail, giving me his reasons for the choices he would make, but leaves it to me to make my own decision. I recommend PAH to everyone.
I can’t say enough good things about my experience with Princess Animal Hospital. I called them as my elderly cat was in severe respiratory distress- they said to bring him right in. From the moment I pulled up the staff were very kind, caring, knowledgeable and professional. It was decided that euthanasia was the best approach to care to end my pets suffering, and the whole process was handled with the utmost care and empathy. You can tell the staff here truly care about and love their jobs. I would highly recommend trusting them with your furry loved ones. Thank you for your care!
Dr. Daniel Caudle is awesome! He is so involved and engaged. He has consistently gone above and beyond for us. I did have a less satisfying experience with one of the other vets...I felt pressured and like I was receiving a "sales pitch" at times throughout our appointment. Also, felt like there were some hidden costs for our well-kitty checkup, which left me feeling less trust for this clinic overall. I would recommend Dr. Caudle without hesitation, though.
They were so caring and compassionate, answered all my questions and made sure all my worries were addressed.
Always so kind and caring and truly have you and your pets interest in mind.
We had a great experience! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and clearly cared about our dog and wallet. Lots of suggestions with no pressure to purchase. Great first visit!
The entire staff at Princess Animal Hospital was amazing, very caring during such a stressful time. I've never left my guy anywhere before, but I knew he was in good hands after talking with Carol and Dr. Ouellette (sp?). They were patient, thorough and thoughtful. He had to spend 36 ( very stressfull) hours in emergency but he walked out in great spirits and good health. Thank-you P.A.H team!
I am new to the area and my dog needed his heart worm and flea/tick treatment for the summer. I chose Princess Animal Hospital based on their google reviews score and was able to get an appointment within a day. The visit was very efficient, the vet technician took us in right away for a complimentary assessment. She was informative on how to deliver the medications I would be getting and addressed a concern I had with my dog. My only expense was the cost of the medications dispensed which I found comparable to my last veterinarian. I will be back to this clinic when my dog's annual vaccinations come due.
I have recently taken my 4 month old puppy for his 3rd set of shots. So far I've been charged $500 for a puppy exam and vaccinations, not including rabies. I am told I will have to pay another exam fee for a total of around $750 for shots which is astronomical. That's 3 exam fees in less than 3 months because I wanted to separate the rabies shot rather than giving so many vaccines at once. I went to a different vet clinic a few years ago and paid one time $170 and never had to pay again for the subsequent shots. The first vet I saw, Dr. Ouillet was very nice and did not try to upsell or tell me to feed veterinarian food. I am feeding a high quality food as it is. The second vet I had a terrible experience with, Dr. Greenwood. I asked about alternatives to putting toxic flea medications on my dog every month for his whole life and was given no advice. I was then told I need to be feeding science diet or royal canin (both of which contain inferior ingredients including by-products and massive amounts of corn). I was then shocked when I went to pay and they charged me an additional $300 on top of the $250 I had already paid and then told me I will need to pay another exam fee in a month when I bring my dog back for rabies. I never write reviews but that was very disappointing. The vet techs I spoke with were all very kind and I liked the first vet I saw but they need to get their pricing in check and be able to offer advice to clients besides upselling toxic chemicals and poor quality food that will only harm your pet's health in the long run.
Great staff. Very helpful, friendly and caring to our Pets and our family.
I gave this clinic a few appointments to make an ultimate decision that I would not refer them. Up selling products is their most important part of care during all appointments in my first year of my puppy’s life, even when I ask them to stop up selling they continue. I was appreciative to win a free nail trim via fb photo contest, but they wouldn’t let me stay with my dog and it left a poor taste in my mouth to have to wonder if my dog was ok with doing this in the vet office with vet techs we don’t know.
Love these guys! When our dog needed to be euthanized they got us in right away. They were super empathetic and so kind. We even got a card in the mail from them with her paw print on it. It was very touching! Our next pup was a year old when we got her and was rescued from a very abusive situation. They took perfect care of her, and have been taking perfect care of Gia ever since! I absolutely recomend Princess/ Downtown Animal Hospital to everyone who loves their pet!
Great Place! Great Staff!
Always going above and beyond. Thank you!
Dr.Lang, Megan and all of the staff at Princess Animal Hospital always go above and beyond to make myself and my cats feel comfortable while at their establishment. I know, that when I take them there that they are receiving the absolute best care possible. And the clinic never smells bad. It always has a very inviting aroma. I highly recommend Princess Animal Hospital to anyone that wants the best for their beloved pets.
My dog needed to go for an emergency exam as my vet was closed on the weekend. I do appreciate that they are always open. After the exam, a vet came out to speak with me. They handed me a quote for $3000. I was a bit taken back, but they basically lead the conversation with "don't freak about the price" rather than trying to calm my nerves in anyway about my dog. Then, I was given confusing instructions to get a second opinion either from another emergency vet or my own on Monday. Then they asked if I wanted to move ahead with the quote. It just seemed very all over the place. The vet techs were very nice. I decided on the second opinion because I just felt off. Fast forward to this past weekend, I called to see if they could help with meds over Thanksgiving as I was 1 day short on the antibiotic. I figured it was my best shot since they did the emergency exam and they knew what was wrong with her, even though I got the second opinion and work done elsewhere. I was told on the phone probably not, which I understand, but was still told the vets were currently busy on the phone and they could ask when one was free to have the vet call me back. I never received the call. On top of this, my own vet was shocked they didn't start my dog on antibiotics regardless of doing other steps that first day. I'm not going to trash them or anything. They seemed nice. Prices were a bit high, but being an emergency vet that's pretty common. Maybe they're extremely busy, but I just wouldn't trust taking my dog here again.
The staff at Princess Animal Hospital are all AMAZING. The last visit was just a few days ago, and their processes during this pandemic are excellent and focus on the health of everyone involved; staff, families, and the pets! Our puppy is deaf, and, well, a puppy - so he's very excitable, but the staff were equally as excited and happy to see him :) I'd also like to mention their extreme kindness and compassion last year when all three of our pet rats passed away within a short timeframe. The staff were upfront about the diagnosis and prognosis of our girls, but were also very gentle about it. Shortly after our loss we received a 'sorry for your loss' card signed by the whole staff which was so appreciated by my whole family. We also had to have one of our cats put down as he was very sick - once again the kindness of the staff was unfailing and deeply appreciated. The staff here are amazing, both in terms of their knowledge and skill when it comes to our fur family members, and their extreme compassion across the board. Much love for these guys! <3
We had a sick dog recently and our usual vet couldn’t take us until after the weekend. They suggested we try other places. We called Princess Animal Hospital and they had us come in that afternoon. Everyone at Princess Animal Hospital is kind, friendly and compassionate. It is obvious that they are truly animal lovers. They even called the next day to see how our doggie was doing. We were so impressed with their professionalism and warm welcome that we have switched all three of our fur babies over to them. Our dogs are well cared for and loved there. Recommend highly.
Took my cat Ares in to get looked at so we can get him fixed. He had been to a vet before when he was a kitten and got his first shots and I had bad experience at my old vet but as soon as I walk in I'm relaxed. Ares was nerves he's peed in his carrier and they were so kind, they cleaned it for us and got a towel to clean him up. They were so good with him, even tho he wasn't acting himself because he was so nervous because he's so used to the apt. I'd recommend this animal hospital!
Last night I had to rush my old cat in (who was passing) they took her and within minutes she had passed they let me keep her there for the night while I figured everything out. When I picked her up they had her wrapped nicely for my and provided us with a paw print keepsake????
We have nothing but great things to say about Princess Animal Hospital. The service we receive from each employee is unlike any experience I've ever had. They remember our faces as well as our dog Quinn. We have had Quinn in for surgery and I have never worried about her while she is in their care. All of the staff truely loves animals and we appreciate all they do for our dog!
They treat my dog like family. Every single employee has been awesome. Highly recommend.
Best vet clinic I have ever gone to. My cat spent the entire day there today to get X-rays and treatment with Dr. Lang. They are so professional and sweet here and they also offer very reasonable prices, insurance, or financial aid. Dr. Lang is absolutely amazing and took great care of my little one. They all made sure he was comfortable and cared for. They went above and beyond my expectations, as they do every time. If you’ve never been there before, go. You won’t regret it. They don’t just quickly look over your pet and send you home. They take their time doing a proper exam and if there are any concerns they will inform you of their opinion and offer you advice if you’re unsure about what to do. They will never force you to do anything or try to get you to do more for more money. They don’t care about the size of your wallet, they care about you and your furry friends.
Dr. Fitzgerald is AMAZING, we can tell she really cares about our pup Lincoln. He recently had to have surgery and she has been going out of her way to call/email us and check in to make sure he is recovering okay. She has been so helpful throughout the whole process- before and after surgery- we always felt comfortable asking her questions and discussing all our options with her. We truly feel relieved knowing we can count on her to go above and beyond to help our dog in any way she can. Not only is she amazing to our dog but incredibly kind to myself and my boyfriend as well, she has been extremely supportive through everything. We would reccomend Dr. Fitzgerald for anyone looking for a veterinarian in the Kingston area, we are beyond thankful for her.
I have nothing but good things to say about the team of caring professionals at Princess and Downtown Animal Hospitals. Dr. Daniel Caudle is an extremely knowledgable, compassionate and attentive veterinarian, always being open to your questions and concerns, offering guidance in difficult times, and coming up with personalized solutions that best fit you and your pet's unique situations. All the technicians and reception staff were extremely attentive, cheerful, friendly and kind. Their customer service in-person, on the phone and via email was always of the highest quality. Although I lost one of my beloved pets recently, I find immense comfort knowing she was in the absolute best of hands, and that the team went above and beyond to care for her. Even after my pet passed away, the team continued to follow up with me and send me condolences. At Princess and Downtown Animal Hospitals, you really feel the patient-centred approach; you and your pet come first, and it really reflects in their day-to-day practices. I highly recommend these facilities and can't thank the team enough for their hard work and kindness.
It was our first time visiting the hospital and our experience was excellent! Dr. Caudle and his team were professional and friendly. They made us feel very welcome and at home. I was concerned that being in a strange place with strange smells would upset Dorothy (Mini Rex Rabbit,) but the team did a great job calming her nerves. Thanks again, we had a great visit! -Caille & Dorothy
The team at Princess Animal Hospital gives us confidence with every single visit that they care deeply about our pets, respect how important these furry family members are to us, and are passionate about being as well-trained and up-to-date as possible in all aspects of veterinary medicine. We have absolute trust in every member of this amazing team, and over more than 12 years (and counting!) we have never once been disappointed. I can't think of very many professional or personal relationships where I could even think of saying that.
I have nothing but praise for every staff member, tech, and vet at Princess! They once again came to our aid last night 10 minutes before closing to take care of our 7-year old feline who had been vomiting intermittently for almost a month (we have 2 cats and it took a little while to determine which one was getting sick) and then developed ever-worsening diarrhea. Joelle stayed an extra hour as did Terri-Lynn to try to diagnose the problem and make our cat comfortable. The follow-up the next day was equally thorough and kind. We consider ourselves very lucky to have found Jeff and his superb colleagues. We are always in the best of hands. p.s I'd give them even more stars if I could :-)
Took our new puppy in for a free new customer checkup and found an small heart murmur. They offered a complementary followup in 3 weeks to check the heart again. Dr. Caudle followed up by email and responded to my questions and concerns even after hours by email When we Came back for the followup we found the murmur gone and hopefully permanently gone. Rebooked for 10 week Shots. Very satisfied with the service. They could have easily charged for the 10 minute followup, offering that was a great show of customer service. Glad we found a new vet that wasn't thinking of just there profit margins
Quick, professional, and kind service for our anxious border collie rescue who met her first porcupine last night. Thanks to Paige and Dr. J.P. especially for caring for her so well and being flexible with her needs. Highly recommend!
Our daughter brought her 9 wk puppy to the Hospital on Saturday night after he was bitten in the face by another dog. Waited 3 hrs (until 1 am) and left without having been seen after being told likely would be a 1 hr wait. She returned Sunday morning at approx 11 am; waited 5 hrs in the parking lot and again ended up having to leave without puppy being seen. We do understand the concept of triage and having to be displaced when a life threatening emergency rolls in but all she was looking for were some antibiotics for him - a process that would probably have taken 10 minutes and then they would have been out of the Hospital's way, or be honest and tell people they are not urgent enough to be seen that day.
After hours clinic is not informative. I gave this hospital the benefit of my doubt as I went for a second time. The first time I was the only car in the parking lot at 3am and was told the vet would be out "soon". I waited 45 minutes and called them again. I was told that the vet was busy, but "soon". I drove away after over an hour and went to the other Pet Hospital in town. Second visit I called ahead and was told to come after 6pm. I came after 6pm and was told by the receptionist that "someone will be out soon". I completely understand that if a pet comes in with more serious issues that they should be looked after first. But, the point of my bad review is due to the lack of communication to your clients. I noticed the same copied response to those that have given a bad review of wait times. This is how I found out how they determine who is seen first. I have no clue how many vets are on staff, where I am in the so called "queue" or if I should of spent my 2.5 hours of waiting, before I drove off just staying home with my family. Communication is key and only fair to those that choose your services.
I cannot even begin to express the quality of care, support, and expertise given at the Princess/Downtown Animal Hospital. The entire staff are friendly and compassionate. They treated me, and my pet rabbit, with the best care I have ever received. I highly recommend their veterinary services, and do commend their services to family and friends whenever I get a chance.
I noticed that my guinea pig was feeling under the weather and I tried to get him an appointment. Nothing was available so I was advised to come after hours. Anytime I called the staff was always so kind and patient. During these lockdown restrictions, everyone did an amazing job getting Moo taken care of. I don't know what we (Moo and I) would do without these amazing people. Doctor was very thorough in giving me the information to get my little guy better. Thank you so much! Times are tough and you all are doing amazing! Hope everyone is just as appreciative. :)
I took my 2 new kittens to the vet for check up and booster shots. Amazing staff and vet. They were patient with the 2 kittens, gentle the kittens didn't even notice the shots and explained everything along with next steps to me.
Truly amazing staff. I took my 2 cats in this morning for their first visit. I have never experienced such compassion and caring expertise like the care my cats received at PAH. The bill was quite reasonable and the service and reception were excellent. The staff were very hospitable and thorough. If you want the best for your loved ones, I highly recommend Princess Animal Hospital. Two thumbs up!????????????????????
I had the best experience at the worst time. My beloved dog Boo was diagnosed with congestive heart failure and unfortunately it was too late to save her. The doctor was so kind and informative and gave me all my options for treatment. Boo tried to stay with us but it was just too much for her . The staff was so kind during her last moments and even though she normally is so anxious , she seemed calm. Afterward I was able to spend some time alone with her to say my goodbyes. I was worried due to COVID-19 that I wouldn’t be allowed in but they let me in to be with her during the procedure (with social distancing) and then alone with her afterward. I just want to thank Dr. Caudle and all the staff so much . What an amazing team you have.
Princess Animal Hospital went above and beyond for us. The team was so helpful in caring for our cat when she was sick. They were supportive in guiding us towards diagnostics and treatments. We were never made to feel poorly when we couldn't pay for a full course of bloodwork or the most expensive medications. They were very good to lay all of the options on the table for us to make the best possible decision. When our sweet girl passed away, the team was so compassionate and caring, making us feel so supported. The veterinarians were always quick to respond to phone calls (and even emails!), and the rest of the staff was equally as amazing. We are so grateful for all of their hard work and kindness. It will certainly stay with us, as you all made a very tough time a little less tough for us. Thanks again Princess Animal Hospital team.
My dog Smudge’s was lame one morning had to take her in during Covid 19 and they were so safe and still made me feel like I had personal service. They came out to my car took my dog then called to tell me how they wanted to proceed. After some tests, they carried a very happy to be back in the car dog, to me. They always treat the animals I have brought to them with care and compassion. It turns out she may have more wrong with her and we have been working over the phone to come up with next steps. Thanks so much PAH.
Everyone was super nice and informative.
I had the opportunity to work along side the staff and a pleasure to bring my new puppy to them! Honest, friendly and loving people. Any questions or concerns they are always there for help.
Great appointment. I love how well Dr. Lattimer explained all my options. And explained what was best for Maggie
I have had an excellent and outstanding experience with Dr. Latimer and everyone I have met at the Princess Animal Hospital last June when my lovely 13-year-old cat required care and surgery. Bella was cared for with affection, supreme dedication and competence. Dr. Latimer and his staff also had to handle a very anxious owner (me). He and his staff did this superbly (I was even given coffee), with extreme flexibility and compassion. The lit candles on the reception desk and throughout the clinic, indicating that someone in the clinic is saying a sad goodbye to a beloved pet, is just another example of their understanding. Thanks also to the Regional Hospital on Midland drive for their excellent overnight care.
I can’t say enough about the Princess Animal Hospital. Our 9 month old lab gave us quite the scare when he would not walk and had a significant limp. We just moved to Kingston and did not have a vet picked yet. We called and had an appointment 2 hours later. The service we received was excellent. Dr Caudle and Michelle were fantastic. They were caring and handled my pup with such care and made him feel safe. It is very clear that the animals health and comfort are top priority. I did not feel pressured or pushed into any unnecessary service, medication, etc. I was asked if I was comfortable with each medication and recommendation and the price (which was very reasonable). All my questions were answered and everything was explained in great detail. The team provided one of the best vet experiences I have had. I am so pleased our pup is on the mend and recovering quickly. We will be coming back for all our veterinarian needs. Thank you! 10/10
Was looking for a new veterinary clinic for my dog since moving and princess animal hospital was very friendly and provided me with different options for her spay. We are happy to have them as our new family vet and will be glad to continue our business with them.
Took my dog here for the first time. They were amazing , friendly and was really nice to my dog , I highly recommend taking your pets to them :)
Great service and care as always! Thanks from Ricky :-)
Excellent, professional, kind and compassionate care. Great follow-up!
We have 3 animals and have been with this clinic for around 3 years. Our initial experience with both the Princess and Bayridge locations have been nothing but positive. In recent months, it has been increasingly more difficult to request appointments with the same vet that all our animals see. Receptionists on the phone have been vague when we request the availability of our usual vet, and it often makes it impossible to book an appointment with her. Recently our animals have been seeing different vets and I find this frustrating as different vets give conflicting opinions. Our usual vet Dr. Ouellet knows our animals and is always kind, knowledgable, and reasonable with her recommendations, while other vets we've seen have pushed for expensive tests and procedures. It also makes it very stressful for our anxious dog to have to meet different vets everytime he visits, and even though this was explicitly mentioned on the phone, there was still little transparency when we requested an appointment with Dr. Ouellet. We will be taking our pets somewhere else given our recent experience with the clinic.
We had to take our dog here twice during this pandemic. First time was because he was having pain in his hind end and second time was for his seasonal parasite medication and to be checked out because he had developed a rash on his belly. They were wonderful both times. Caring veterinarians and RVT’s, told me everything they did and the treatment over the phone while I waited in my car. They give options for treatment so you can manage the financial end of things. All in all, I highly recommend Princess Animal Hospital. My dog loves them too!!
I just moved to Kingston last summer (2017), and needed to find a new vet for my almost 16 yr-old Yorkie. From the moment I walked into the the Princess Animal Hospital for Yoda's first check-up yesterday, I was greeted with smiles and taken into the exam room right away. Dr. Joelle Ouellet and Paige were incredibly thorough, and extremely gentle with Yoda and took so much time to explain all the options available to treat his injured leg. They answered all my questions and I felt so happy that I found such a wonderful vet in Kingston to take care of my little Yoda in his golden years!
This clinic is the most caring pet services clinic I have been to. The service was very professional and protocol was followed. Very well organized.
I feel very similar to the review below me. I felt like I was always trying to be "sold" additional things and later found out I was over charged for a simple ear exam. An ear cytology ended up costing me $167.00, my regular Vet is $85.00. I was also overcharged for the Surolan drops I paid 87.00 for 2 15ML bottles which later I found out I could purchase for $40.00. I got taken advantage of because I'm the type of person who does not care about money when it comes to the health of my pets. I will know for next time though.
Love of animals is clearly first and foremost. Alison, Dr Caudle and Paige THANK YOU!!! I also had the pleasure of watching Dr Ouellete, Megan and Melisa treat our Quinn with the utmost respect. Honest and upfront team of loving professionals!!
We thank Dr. Latimer and Carole for spending so much time with us and "Charlie", solving problems that were not all health related. Very understanding and friendly, could not do enough for us, was so nice. Medically they are tops and we trust Charlie's health to them completely. Great experience!!
Dr Doyle did an outstanding job during an emergency vet visit late into the evening Aug 25th after our pup experienced potentially fatal water intoxication. Not only did he and his team rush out to our car after an hour drive to get him there, they immediately took action to triage him amongst the other pets. The costs were clearly outlined once he was stable and our options for his care were made clear with as much information as we could ask for. We would like to thank Dr Doyle and his team for making our terrifying night, one that we can walk away from with a healthy pup. It's also important to mention that night he and his team were the only available emergency vet within a 2+ hour radius and were extremely busy but within the four hour window we dealt with Princess Animal Hospital, we didn't see anyone slow down for the influx of patients. Great job and we are extremely grateful you were working that night. Emily, Kyle and Pup (Tallow)
Dr. Joelle and Katherine Thank you very much very the caring words and care given to me during my emergency trip with O'Malley. We had him for over 15 years and never expected he would leave us so soon....It was hard to let him go but I know this was the best decision to end his suffering....We have adopted another senior cat to be a playmate for our Heidi, our other furbaby. Thank you again. with sorrow Jackie Passmore (Mrs)
Princess Animal Hospital has cared for my Dogs for almost 20 years. To me and my 4 legged Friends Team PAH has always been OUTSTANDING!! The Techs are kind, considerate and always so eager to assist and they work so well together. Dr Ouelett and Dr Latimer have demonstrated on numerous occasions that each deserves my confidence and my respect. Again, for my Pets and I, Team PAH is the very BEST!! Mike O'Brien (and Guinness and Jameson)
Today I thought I was going to feel like hell for me. Today was the day that I had to put my beloved Spiral (cat age 16,) to sleep after the discovery of a tumor was made yesterday. You are never prepared nor ready for suchurch a thing, no matter how much or how little you think about it. I knew I would be a crying, hiccuping mess. I have had to put some beloveds to sleep before, the experiences not the greatest, sad, cold, haunting. But today, today was different. I entered the room, the nurse was holding my Spiral in her arms, wrapped in soft fleece blanket. She was perfectly content They placed a comfy like bedding on my lap (incase of usual body function release,) then set her on me. The vet kneeled down beside me and she sat beside me. They were wonderful and we talked awhile quietly in a nice isolated room. She cuddled her head into my arm as she always does and I said the we (Spiral and I,) we're ready. A friend had been there this morning, he left me a potted plant I had always wanted, and left his credit card as payment so that I would not have too. I will for always be great full for that. After everything, they delicately set her down on the chair beside me, comforted and hugged me, then presented me with the potted plant that he left for me. They walked me outside and talked to my mother and aunt who could not stay for the farewell. We all talked and I was surprised to feel, so at peace and happy. I can look back at this and remember how at peacefull and comfy she was, head snuggled in my arm, wrapped in that soft blanket. How we shared a moment, how those people were so kind and caring, and went above and beyond their duty. I'll be forever thankful to them, this hospital and everyone's hospitality. They have done more for me with my visits there than anywhere else combined. I thanked them and told them that they are my favourite, that I will be returning. This is the animal hospital that I respect and love, they treated my animals, cats and guinea pigs, better than other vets, and I will always spread good word of them and highly recommend them. Thank you to the team at Princess Animal Hospital, and a special thank you to Paige who was great support through the diagnoses the previous day and for the 'farewell for now' time, and Dr. Daniel Caudle for his support, kindness and soft words. You both have helped me more than you know! I am smiling, when I thought I would be crying. I knew it was her time, I was worried it would be like my last experience, but it was something else and I am so happy that we are both at peace! My best regards to you both and I hope that you both have a great day! :) Sarah Giddy & Spiral 08/19/2016
Excellent professionals. We have nothing but good experiences with them.
The service received is amazing. I loved the Veterinarian Dr.Joelle and her vet tech was great as well. The only issue I had was with the pricing, which was ridiculous. My dog was recommended for an abdominal xray and the cost associated with the procedure was $600 on top of the examination fee. So I was looking at a bill of almost $800 I left and went to another Vet. I was equally comfortable with the experience I had at the other hospital and the xray was 200$ so a third of the price. I had additional bloodwork done, got her the necessary mediciations and still paid less than I was quoted at PAH.
This is a very friendly and professional service! The staff are very warmto animals and humans! Thank you for a wonderful experience!!
We have been coming to Princess Animal Hospital for 13+ years with our dog and cat, both of whom required significant care. Our dog Chico came to us as a senior pet who had no preventive care in the first 9 years of his life. He developed some serious health issues requiring investigations and subsequent surgeries. Throughout his seven years of care at Princess, he and we were treated with the utmost compassion, competence and genuine kindness. Dr. Latimer and each member of his professional staff have gone the extra mile in meeting our needs, to the point of coming by our house on occasion, contacting us on weekends to follow up on Chico's condition and calling after hours to check on us. Chico was sometimes fitted into busy schedules when ill. His fear at the hospital was met with wonderful gentleness and great patience by all. When we had to face the ending of Chico's life, it could not have been done in a more caring way. We are still amazed at the follow-up communications we received from Dr. Latimer and his staff after Chico's death. Our cat Barney is also a rescue with chronic health challenges. He developed blindness in one eye, a potentially painful dental disease as well as "triad disease" involving his pancreas, bowel and stomach. Dr. Latimer has consulted specialists in these problems from across North America to give Barney the best treatment available for all these conditions. Both our animals have needed and used the state of the art technologies available at Princess and these have proven to be invaluable in their care. But most of all, the expertise and genuinely compassionate nature of Dr. Latimer and all staff toward both animals and owners is what keeps us coming back. We have no hesitation in trusting them with our pets. They are truly outstanding.
Always caring staff from the minute you come through the door until you leave. I have always been impressed that (unlike some places and not just Veterinary business's but in general) when you come in you are always met with a smile and a feeling of welcoming. It doesn't matter how busy they are. To me that shows a great relationship between not only the staff but also with management. They love all of our pets just like they are their own. Thank you and Merry Christmas to everyone at Princess Animal hospital.
The Princess Animal Hospital staff have been consistently providing quality care for my dog for seven years, what more could a pet owner ask for.
We needed our dog to be seen quickly and did not yet have a Animal Hospital. We called Princess Animal Hospital and they were able to see our dog on short notice. The interaction between the Vet, his assistant, and team was excellent. They were caring, professional, personal. This reassured us and gave us confidence in the process. We are very satisfied with our experience and will continue using this Vet/Animal Hospital.
Due to the indifference and self serving attitudes demonstrated by the people at the Princess Clinic, our Christmas will probably be spent watching our family pet die After finally waiting several hours we finally saw a vet at the clinic. Some pain killers were prescribed and we went home. Our dog became progressively worse and we attempted to see someone at the Princess Clinic. Even though there was a vet on duty, we were dismissed and told to go to another Clinic. We have finally arranged an emergency appointment in Belleville, but our dog's condition has deteriorated considerably and we do not expect him to survive. So Merry Christmas to those a the Princess Clinic. For us, I expect we will be spending our time watching our family pet die. I wish the worst to all who work there. nico
As an adult man who considers my rodents to be part of my family, my little hamsters and I have been the butt of many jokes. I contacted Princess Animal Hospital and booked an appointment with concerns about my ham, Atlas. They emailed me back so quickly and really validated me, and arrange a next day appointment instead. In the office, they treated it just as professionally and seriously as a doctor would with a sick child and concerned parent. They made me feel so reassured, and I know my "little exotics" are in the right hands! :)
The best in Kingston! Princess Animal Hospital is amazing; they go above and beyond to make you and your pet feel comfortable. They are VERY diligent; they have always called or texted me after any appointment my dog has had with them. Among other things they performed my dogs neutering and the healing was super easy; they called daily to check in, did laser treatment on the wound and sent me home with painkillers, included in the neutering fee. Just recently I had a small emergency with my puppers and they were booked solid for the day but still made time for us and saw him right away. The techs are always so nice and easy to deal with; I can’t recommend this vet practice enough, I will never go anywhere else.
Giving a heads up about this clinic: approximately two months ago, we had our cat feeling bad and in spite of one of our friends’ recommendations against the clinic, given that it was the only option at that time, we went ahead to be seen. Our cat was taken inside to be examined and although we provided quite a few details of what was going on, they kept asking us the same questions. At that point, we felt they were not very interested in hearing our concerns. We listened to their explanation and bought all the medications and ran the tests they requested (which, by the way, are not cheap). The staff showed various times a lack of empathy and were rude when we were trying to understand the order of medication administration. After taking our cat home, we called to ask another question about the meds and were told a vet would be consulted, but we never heard back from them about this. Luckily, we were able to take our cat to our regular vet who was surprised to see the medications given and the uncertainty regarding the diagnosis PAH expressed even when prescribing treatment. There was a delay in the correct diagnosis and they made us feel like the only thing they cared about was money. We are definitely very disappointed and we are unsure why they are running a clinic when animal care is clearly not their priority. I wonder if the staff treat their pets with the disinterest they demonstrated when trying to treat ours. Stay away if you can.
Thank you to Dr. Jeff and Staff at Princess Animal Hospital. Not only did my little Murphy breeze through his surgery with no glitches, but you helped ME through it as well !!!
Friday February 12th we checked in our 13 year old dog, who was on intravenous for monitoring, we were well aware of the costs, having received a estimate prior through our regular vet. We chose Princess as it was closer to our home, although Alta Vista was also considered. My concern is the very, very poor recording done by staff on Nipper's chart. Over the course of 2 nights and 3 days, we were recommended 3 times to euthanize our dog as his kidney's had failed him and he was not urinating. The only recording done by staff was a urination at 22:00 February 12 and 17:00hrs February 13th, despite the fact he was a 14lbs elderly dog on IV fluids. Fortunately I did call regularly and speak to the technicians who advised me of Nipper's urination/bowel movements, which I kept a activity log of. I mentioned the discrepancies to senior veterinarian staff all 3 times and still his records were not updated. This is extremely problematic as accurate chart completion is very important, in order to properly diagnose and treat a patient. Secondly, would a facility actually let a small dog that is on IV fluids not urinate for nearly 24 hours? When I did confront one of the very nice technicians, she did confirm that they had been busy and that Nipper's charts HAD NOT been updated since 22:00 hours on February 12. This is completely inexcusable. My understanding from the Dr's and the technicians is 'we're not very organized', 'we just opened 24hrs Feb 1, 'we're under-staffed, 'it's been busy'. is no excuse. If you are understaffed, hire more staff. Technicians work 14 hour night shifts and vets work 12 shifts and only one vet is working per 12 hours. I had a very long conversation with one of the Veterinarians a Dr. Murphy who was very kind, but did acknowledge all of these errors and a meeting was to have been called. I cannot at all recommend this hospital, it was extremely distressing to call at 11am on February 13th and hear my pet screaming in the background whilst talking to a technician. I informed her, he doesn't normally do that unless he's under duress, I called back and was told and I quote: " Poor little guy must have been in agony, his bladder was about to burst.'' and of course due to lack of staff, that urination neither was logged. The costs of just over 48 hrs were in excess of $2000, including one blood screening and granted I knew the costs were going to be higher, but with that I expect proper cataloguing and indexing of charts, follow-up by senior staff, monitoring of intake-out-take and an accurate diagnosis of my pet.
My border collie, Skye, was in dire straits. We were referred to Princess Animal Hospital. Dr. Latimer performed an ultrasound, explained his findings and recommended that the images be reviewed by a specialist. We had the report back within a few hours and a suggested course of action. I was very impressed and pleased with the caring approach of the staff and Dr. Latimer's thoroughness, professionalism and attention to what is important when your furry one is in distress. If I lived in Kingston, this would be my vet clinic.
This is not the. Vet for me and my pets. I have gone to this Animal Hospital several times over the past couple years out of necessity and convenience. . I find they are the most expensive vet office in Kingston. I Brought my cat there very recently for a cost of $1100 for a consultation, blood and urine test. I felt pressured to get the medication they recommended. They did not give me any options. They did not sit and talk to me, they did not do a thorough exam. They did not allow me to ask any questions. It was a horrible experience. I called them the next day to follow up with the vet. I told her I had not started the meds yet and again I felt pressure from her to “start right away”. Like I was doing something wrong. I spoke to several other people who recommended me to another vet in Kingston and other medications my cat could take. There were options that were not discussed with me at Princess Animal Hospital. I promptly the next day went for a second opinion at another vet. The consultation alone was considerably cheaper. They gave my cat a much more thorough exam. They spent a whole hour speaking to me and gave me better options for the care of my cat. I felt 100 % better.
I started with Princess Animal Hospital a few months ago for my puppy. Since day one, they have been amazing. Extremely professional and so loving towards my pup! He has had numerous issues within the last few months and they have always been able to get him in immediately for treatment as well as adressing all of my concerns with no issues. He is also very shy and they have patiently taken the time to gain his trust during our visits. I very highly recommend Princess Animal Hospital if you're looking for a veterinarian for your fur baby. You and your pet will get 5 star care with lots of smiles! (And treats for your fur baby!)
I’m giving 3 stars because they did treat my cat Pepper well. The issue I have is the cost of service. Once my cat was taken in at 12:30 pm (after a 2 hour wait in the parking lot) they called with the diagnosis and informed me it would be $2700 to treat including a 48 hour stay. I was called on Sunday which according to the time he went in was about 30 hours. They were convinced that he’d been dropped off at 12:30 am not pm. I told them I’d pick him up at 5am Monday morning and they agreed. I received another call about half an hour later and was told that because I was going past 1am they wanted another $1500 which would have put my bill up to over $4000. I picked my cat up at 12am. I really hope I never need their services again.
Excellent experience. Great care of our dog Ollie. Everyone else at PAH really understand the relationship we have with our pets.
It was my 1st visit to Princess Animal Hospital and I was very impressed. Triage was easy, they took me in for my examination.Dr Donley checked me out and brought me back to my daddy's car to thoroughly explain the options to make me better. The medication is working! Thank you!!!
Amazing people, definite animal lovers! Staff (from front desk to Vets) obviously cared about, AND knew what they are doing. And with a free "first check-up", why not come see them first?!? After one visit I will never take my little girl anywhere else...
Yesterday our Airedale Terrier decided that playing with a porcupine could be fun. Sadly it was not. PAH took her in ans surgery was performed for the removal of many quills. Thank you Dr. Greenwood and the team at PAH. Once a gain you have proven why we keep going back to you.
The staff is intelligent, kind and compassionate.
We have been going to Princess Animal Hospital ever since it started, and have always been impressed by the professional and caring staff. They are very affectionate with our animals, and deliver a high degree of care. Over the years, they have cared for 4 dogs and 2 cats for us. I would not hesitate to recommend Princess Animal Hospital for the pets you love. I just noticed I have used "care/caring" several times, and I think that says it all.
This facility genuinely cares about your pets. We appreciate the continued care that is provided to Sophie.
As always the staff go above and beyond the call of duty. It's like family thank you all for caring as much as you all do.
If I could give more stars I would! It has always been a struggle taking my cat Zeus to the vet, he does not do well travelling in vehicles! The staff at Princess Animal Hospital go above and beyond to make your animal feel safe and at home! They treat your pet as their own and keep you updated during every step of surgery. I appreciate everything they have done! Thank you Dr. Latimer, Valerie, and all the rest of the staff at Princess Animal Hospital!
I was able to book an appointment immediately. Dr. Latimer and the staff provided excellent care to my dog who was experiencing gastrointestinal issues. They are very compassionate with animals. He was given medication to make him feel better. I was given clear instructions on what to do and expect over the next couple of days. I was even asked to email with an update on Monday morning. They completed my insurance form and faxed it before I left. My only negative is the cost of dog food that was recommended. A smaller bag (or sample) should be available to ensure he will eat it. If he doesn't, it is a wasted expense.
Great visit with Dr Greenwood for our cats yearly exam and vaccines. Always top notch service by the entire team, front to back !
We took our dog there after she was attacked by a bulldog. They said it would be a few hours. We waited over 2 hrs with the dog's gaping wounds. Then they tell us that they can't do it and sent us away. If I could leave 0 stars, I would have. STAY AWAY!!!!
Awesome! I live out west but have family here so when I bring my fur babies here and need anything we are always welcomed and taken care of.
I just returned to Princess Animal Hospital with a sweet kitten and felt as though I was going home. From the moment I entered with her, we were treated in a very special way. All staff members are friendly, approachable and knowledgeable. Dr. Jeff Latimer is the consummate professional, in my opinion "a cat whisperer", although I have heard from others that he is a "dog whisperer" too. He is so patient and kind and always takes the time to answer all my questions in simple terms I can understand. I am so pleased that our new kitten will have the Cadillac of care throughout her lifetime. I cannot recommend Princess Animal Hospital highly enough!
One of my cats, Abigale, has congestive heart failure. When she started rapidly declining one night, we feared the worst. We brought her into the afterhours clinic where she received comprehensive care from Dr. Lang. They brought her in quickly and Dr. Lang was able to pinpoint the problem and provided solutions and a treatment plan for her going forward. He also took the time to explain what exactly was going on with her, which was greatly appreciated. Abby is with us today thanks to the quick action of the team at Princess Animal Hospital. I hope we are never in this position again but if we are in need of an after-hours vet, we will be coming straight to Princess Animal Hospital.
Dr Ouellet is just awesome!!! Really patient with my overgrown puppy :)
Professional and personable as always!
Amazing vet staff! Since moving to Kingston, I've been using the Bayridge Princess Animal Hospital for my cat and rabbit. I was worried about a lump on my cats shoulder and they were quick to check her out, and get back to me regarding the lump to let me know it was nothing serious. I also switched her food under their recommendation and she's been steadily losing her extra little bit of weight and loves her new wet food! I originally wanted to try out this Animal Hospital because I saw online that they offered small animal care, and I've been absolutely thrilled with how they treat my rabbit. During his pre-surgical consultation, Dr. Lang and the vet tech (sorry, I couldn't remember her name!) were incredibly kind and patient with him while he got used to his surroundings. Just today, my rabbit was neutered and Dr. Lang was very thorough with explaining the aftercare and letting me know how the procedure went. Unfortunately my little bun didn't want to eat afterwards because he was nervous, but Dr. Lang and the staff were very informative on what to do in that situation and I'm happy to say that's he's eating well again! Everyone from the receptionists, to the vet techs, and Dr. Lang have been incredibly kind and helpful and I'm very happy to have found them.
No pictures of sad pups on their way to see the vet if they are going to Princess Animal Hospital! My boys were excited when they got there and happy to go inside without me because of the way they were greeted at the door (Standard Co-Vid precautions). I was consulted all the way through via phone calls to the parking lot. I appreciate that the staff cares as much about my boys as I do.
I would suggest comparing prices with other local veterinary clinics. As a college student, this place was unrealistic for me.
Many years/pets later and still a client. Wouldn't even consider going anywhere else.
I recently had to take my chinchilla for an emergency appointment as my regular vet wasn't available during that time. I dealt with Dr. Sean Lang and he took very good care of my baby. He inspected her quickly, which is needed for a chinchilla as they are restless. He noted the small things about her health that weren't my area of concern and I was very impressed with him. He made future arrangements in case I needed help and exotic vets were unavailable. I'm incredibly impressed with the service and overall care of my little girl.
Simply the best!
Very welcoming vet and vet techs - compassionate with our cats, and extremely thorough with both examination and explanation of costs for regular and optional procedures.
Excellent care and service from the folks at Princess Street Animal Hospital. There are two rabbit savvy vets there, which is such a rarity. I recommend them highly!
I can’t thank the hospital enough for how professional the ladies who were working February 20th. I unfortunately had to lay my cat of 18 years to rest and I was astonished at the price difference between midland hospital to princess animal 10/10 for the level of compassion and professionalism. Thank you again made this hardship much better.
I can’t say enough about the Princess Animal Hospital. They are kind, professional and have gone above and beyond every time I have had to be there. I am so pleased to have found such a wonderful veterinarian clinic for my pets.
Everyone here is great. So nice and gentle with our cat, and so helpful with explaining things. 10/10!
We took our dog Ben to Princess Animal Hospital yesterday and we were beyond happy with the service we received. Ben has some extra challenges as he has some intense aggression issues and needs to be fully sedated for exams and nail trims. The staff at PAH was extremely friendly and very patient. The stress on Ben was kept to a minimum and we are so pleased with how things went. Thank you!!
Excellent staff and clean facility. Feel very confidence in the care our dog receives. Overall excellent experience.
Princess Animal Hospital has been FANTASTIC! They have been a massive help since we got our puppy in January. They are always ready to answer any question or book last minute appointments as necessary. We are so happy with their professionalism and dedication to caring for animals. Our puppy Oatmeal always gets overly excited once we pull up into their parking lot and the staff always handle her so well. We cannot recommend this vet enough, all the staff members are part of a wonderful team! Thank you for everything!
I've only had one visit, but I think price gouging was a real issue for me. It cost me $247.00 to have a rat put down... There was no warning about to cost before hand when I made the apt, or walking in. I didn't know the cost until the debit machine was in front of me. It's the same price it would be to put down a dog there. My rat weighs less than 600g and only a small amount of meds are used. At sims it cost about $90 and in Bloomfield it was free. At Bellway is less than $40. Especially in these hard financial times... Also, it costs $210 to have a rat operated on at the other exotic vet in town.
Failed to recognize that my old cat was critically dehydrated. Sent me home with her. She cried all night. Next day they were unable to see her again, so I rushed her to Napanee. She was immediately put on intravenous fluids and passed away that afternoon.
Dr. Jeff Latimer leads a superior team of professionals in providing the best possible outcome for your pet. His compassion and empathy are the cornerstone qualities that make me return to him again and again.
The entire staff at Princess Animal Hospital are amazing! They always make us and our pet feel comfortable and taken care of. We have been numerous times with our pet and we will continue to be clients forever.
Waited 3 hours as cars came in and out of the parking lot. Not talked to by a tech waited from 630 till 930 at night asked someone why we were still waiting then being told that its first come first serve to oh we had emergency calls that needed to be dealt with first we won't forget about you. Would not recommend this animal hospital at all. Sucks that i had to even give it one star just to give my review.
Absolutely amazing staff. Very professional and use both professional language and language we could understand. As today was the forth trip to the vets this year for my cat Princess, we were very frustrated, but the staff made today a good experience. Theu provided us with lots of different options and did not force anything on us and let us have the control of the situation. We were able to bring Princess home with some pain meds as we wait for all of our test results knowing that she should be in less pain until the results come in and we can lok at the results and decide a plan of action. Overall very happy with how today went. Princess Animal Hospital on Bayridge Drive staff are doing a great job. Thank you!
Excellent service as always !!
Dr. Jeff Latimer and his staff provide comprehensive, current, thoughtful, and caring veterinary medicine. Phantom and I say thanks!
