You will be able to see all the information of people who consume the products of Niagara Health - Welland Site (Hospital) in the area of Fort Erie (Canada).
As of day the business gets a score of 2.7 out of 5 and that rating was based on 116 reviews.
You must have seen that it reaches an reviews average is average, and it's based on a very high number of reviews, so we may say that the assessment is quite reliable. If there are many people who bothered to evaluate when they are pleased, it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to place opinions when they are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Hospital belongs to the category of General hospital.
If I could give a 0 star review I would, long waiting lines, they don't pick their calls especially the release and record department...I must have tried 35 times, left voice-mails yet nothing...I don't know how a hospital could be this bad
There 8 hours last night from 6pm to 2am worst visit ever not one time did I see an employee clean. All these sick people and not one disinfectant wipe or bleach no one is cleaned a damn thing. Unsanitary!!! At least the waiting room anyways
15 min to see the registration, 6 hours to see the doctor. You will have to wait no matter what. They should have more doctors in the emergency
My experience at the Welland General Hopital went extremely well The ladies were very beautiful and helpful too. The doctor that was excellent as well.
The Gods are watching .???? Trash hospital worst on planet earth .
Wait times are usually very long, and you don't always get the treatment you need.
Very kind staff. Adorable with kids. I just noticed they don’t disinfect chairs in the wait room very often. There are wipes available though and we desinfectes the chairs we sat.
After being in a traumatic incident I was brought to this hospital by ambulance. The lack of compassion from the nursing staff (and the on-call doctor) was indescribable. My friends and family commented on their lack of concern and compassion and I would hope that no one else endures that form of treatment during a high-need time. I would recommend the staff take some compassion training. I was discharged without recieving needed sutures and scans and without education on my injuries. I ended up having to be transported to another hospital by ambulance upon getting home. Reconsider your location of treatment...
The triage team is fantastic.. Wish i could say the same about the rest of my experience. Went in with severe pain and waited 7 hours, got no bed, an injection that i had no idea what it was and the doctor basically dismissing me. I have fibromyalgia. It doesn't mean all my pain is fibro pain. No one wanted to examine my pain any further and was sent home with nothing to manage the pain due to this issue going forward. Might try another hospital later today to see if i can get some better treatment. Definitely disappointed
Wait time was fine. Spent hours in emerg, no one told me what was going on at any point in time when I would ask. Nurse would always say too busy. Overall attitude of most nurses was very poor, not to just myself but other patients as well. Would NOT recommend ANY of these nurses here. All were horrid. The two emerg doctors, and lab assistants were wonderful, however.
Tremendous staff !!!- Truly professional and kind. Thank you so much for all of your care and concern.......
I had a bad case of appendices last year, was admitted fairly quickly and got surgery. My stay was alright for a hospital, food was crap as usual. My daughter had a dog bite prior to my stay and she was treated fast! Doctor and nurses were very nice and respectful. Only bad experience I've had at this hospital is when my father passed away back in 2013. Dr.Willard killed my father by messing up his surgery, father died of septicemia. Not hospital fault more or less drs fault.
Very clean and fast
Had a pleasant experience with 2 out of the 17 staff i came across while visiting this hospital. Rude, unprofessional, ignorant staff members. Don't waste your time setting yourself up for disappointment, travel the extra 20 mins to the St. Catharines location.
Worst hospital in the region. Staff is beyond retraining. Rude and ignorant. I would rather go to St.kitts
I would give 0 stars if I could.
Jan 12th i had cataract eye surgery and from the moment i walked in i was greeted with a smile and given directions to where to go. The 3rd floor staff were awesome and everyone greeted me with a smile and introduced themselves to me and told me everything would be fine. Thanks to everyone at the Welland hospital.
If you have an emergency, don't bother with this place unless its something 'normal' and you don't mind the possibility of catching something. Firstly its a small, old hospital, which would be fine but it had dirty floors, a small and uncomfortable waiting area, dirty bathrooms, tissues and mess left behind from previous patients left there for the entirety of my wait (which was 3.5 hours even though it was a predicted 2.5 hour wait, because the triage nurse apparently had placed me at the bottom of the list for something that was serious enough for the doctors to want me to stay overnight) and generally lacked the expertise to properly diagnose me. The doctor admitted she didn't know what was going on and that they didn't have anyone on site to diagnose me (hence staying overnight) but still absolutely terrified me by telling me I would most likely need surgery in the morning. It turns out she didn't have a clue what was going on and had actually told me a bunch of incorrect information (only some of which I was aware of at the time - thank goodness for Google). They wanted me to wait for 8 hours in an exam room with no real bed/blankets/etc for me to rest properly. I discharged myself (against their recommendation) and went to St Catharines instead where I waited less (despite the longer predicted wait time) and was properly diagnosed. I didn't need surgery. They should have sent me there immediately after realising that they didn't have the ability to diagnose me at that time when St Catharines absolutely did.
My mom got brought in on Saturday with severe hip, lower back pain & was taken care of in a most professional way.Thank you to the nurses & Dr for taking excellent care of my mom.
My Grandpa fell down and broke his femur at the Plymouth Cordage. He was transferred to Welland hospital and the nurse’s were so nice. The surgery went very well. One of his care takers had to stay over night so, Lauren- Physiotherapist, Kierra- Manager, Sydney- Charge Nurse, all helped us get a lounge chair. Thanks Welland hospital and Niagara Heath care for helping my grandpa. SOOOO KIND. Matthew- Grandson of Angelo Ettorre
Terrible service 1 nurse in the triage room The nurse leaving the room every minute Long waiting
This place is a joke!
Surgical staff was pleasant, efficient and knowledgeable. Nursing staff provided professional and compassionate care.
my experience was amazing from pre op to post op. thank you to am amazing staff! keep smiling and stay positive. eventually they'll let you hire a few more people so you're not working so hard????✌????????
disgusting rude staff and terrible waiting on uncomfortable chairs... so disappointed
Extremely attentive and caring medical staff
Professionnels...sure there is a wait , but its an emergancy room. What do people expect.
I'm extremely happy with the excellent, kind and thorough care my mother is receiving here, and so is she. Thank you to all, especially on the 4th floor! :)
I've been in a few hospitals for some seizure and dislocation incidents. I genuinely find the staff at this hospital to be the best of all of them (Niagara Falls, St. Catharines, Hamilton). Staff are very helpful and always focus on what to do after (as opposed to just sending you on your way to talk to your family doctor). I have regular appointments with Dr. Song for my shoulder and he's one of the most helpful doctors I've had since all of this started.
Unprofessional white trash workers, just weird ????????????
I passed a kidney stone waiting to be seen. Was there for 8 hours of which 6.5 hours were in the waiting room which was filthy. I had no idea what was wrong with me, I was just in agony the entire time. Didn't get so much as a Tylenol for the first 7 hours. On a second occasion I had complications after a surgery and was bleeding under the skin (hematoma). I was in shock and throwing up. They gave me some gravol, some fluids and sent me home with an active bleed. Had a friend drive me to another hospital where I had to have another surgery to have 500 cc of blood drained. I complained to the Welland hospital but of course they claim "the care provided was appropriate." They could very easily have killed me. There are probably some exemplary healthcare professionals at the Welland Hospital, but I would not send anyone I care about there... Or even my worst enemy.
My father had to be rushed to Welland hospital from the retirement home of seasons. When I went to see him he could not swallow and hard time eating. The Nurse shoved Oatmeal in his mouth and he gaged. I told her to do small portions. They don't know how to feed people. My father said to me don't ever let the Retirement home take him to welland and they knew not to. If anything take him to Niagara. Welland never bothered to call me or bothered to tell me my father passed away. I took care of my dad for 20 years. Glad I saw him before he passed. I should have stayed in welland and not have moved. Only 6 months after I left welland this happens. Don't ever go to Welland as like everyone else said that's a place for people to pass away. If he was in Niagara he would have better care.
Old hospital but great, caring staff. The Original Food Company (cafeteria) has the best coffee in Welland!
Horrible conditions. Waited 7 hours after being seen, for a bed. While waiting I was left in the waiting room along with the other patients and visitors. Finally received a bed only to be left in the hallway and that was where, along with the other patients I spent my 3 days there. Received different doctors each day and one of them was content leaving me in excruciating pain for the day and night I had him. I nurse I had should not be a nurse. Very cold hearted and rude. My other nurses were great. Thank you De light. Yes, that's his real name. Dennis and Abby. A little kindness goes a long way!
Don’t go here at all, you’re better off going to St. Catharines. At night they don’t care at all about you. Went in for a foot injury and they had us waiting for 6+ hours. Saying x-ray was not ready. Was the imaging tech drawing it LOL stay away
Quiet and clean
Worst hospital I have ever seen in my life. The nurses and doctors are rude and unwilling to help. The PSWs are complete morons and need retraining. My grand father has alzheimers and Parkinson and they almost killed him. My little brother had the flu and they treated him for pink eye... seriously what the f. If you have a sick family member or an elderly family member don't bring them there. Elderly people go in and don't come out. This hospitals needs a complete transformation. Go to st Catherine's or port Colburn if you want to live.
Just some stuff I need to get off my chest. This is my local hospital, and I can say with 100% confidence that I have had nothing but awful experiences here. My sister spent the night in emergency. She went because she was gradually losing the ability to breath. She waited over half an hour for someone to talk to her about her issue, meanwhile there were only 7 other people in the waiting room. During this time a nurse was texting right in front of her. She politely tried to speak to the nurse roughly four times about her worsening condition, and was ignored. It got to the point where she had to tilt her head up to breathe, and still there was no sense of urgency from the staff. They took a urine sample to check for pregnancy, which she discovered during the ultrasound had not been tested. She had blood taken to 'check for something' as it was put by the nurse, and at the end of a long 7 and a half hour wait, she was told that she probably just had an allergic reaction to something, and was sent home. She was also told that some of her symptoms were not happening, because nothing showed up on the x-ray. I waited all night for her in the parking lot, where a disabled man seemed to be either experiencing drug withdrawal, or was tweaking out. He was blatantly ignored by the nurses all night. He sat outside ALL night and received no help of any kind, despite the fact that the ER was nearly completely empty, and he was in distress. While I'm at it here's a story from two years ago: I had to be brought to the hospital in an ambulance because I was in a ton of pain and was not sure why. They put me in a room where I suffered for 4 hours with no pain killers of any kind. A nurse attempted to give me an IV, however. after sticking me 6-8 times, made a joke about how my boyfriend has better veins and gave up. Once I started to feel better they gave me two Tylenol and sent me home. My sister and I also have scars from where an incompetent doctor cut us up during delivery. My mother recalls the birth feeling rushed, and feeling as though the doctor was inconvenienced in having to deliver me. Do yourself a favour and please avoid this hospital unless you are certain that you have no other options. If I could give this place negative stars I would.
Came in last night and waited for 6 hours, was told to come back this morning so my daughter could have an ultrasound to see if she has a bladder infection or if it is kidney stones (was given an appointment time). Was told by the doctor and nurse last night that we wouldn't wait long... well we have been waiting over 3 hours for results and have had many go before us. The ultrasound tech also said we shouldnt have to wait too long since we had been here last night... Also had a cockroach in our exam room and in the front lobby last night... staff seem nice but these wait times are ridiculous... the frustrating part is when we left at 2am my daughter wasn't hungry so she just went to bed. She wasn't allowed to eat or drink for 8 hours prior to the ultrasound so now we are at almost 2pm and all my daughter has had is a drink and bag if chips from the vending machine (which I bought for her not knowing if she was allowed to eat or drink because I never heard back from the nurse as to whether she was allowed). This is absolutely disgraceful. My daughter is also an 8 year old. :( very disappointed. **update** they have now called everyone who was waiting before us and 3 people who came in after us. All we are waiting for are results :( **
Welland Hospital Has Big Problems With Ther STAFF Who Looks Like They Dont Care To Give Care To Ther Patients Like When Some Have To Wait For Hours Before Anyone Comes And Helps **************************** **** He sounded like he was giving up again last night... Said that everything he needs or wants he is always waiting and they don't come. Was Said From A Family Member Of Someone I Know. Well N.H.S. Your P.S.W. Workers And Staff Need Retraining Im Getting Sick Of This Garbage Pritty Fast..
An absolute disgrace, mouthy nurses with zero respect, who leaves a heart patient and dialysis patient who is short of breath out in a waiting room when someone who twisted their ankle and came in later gets seen ahead of them???welland hospital that's who avoid at all costs,so many law suits and its because of their crack head staff who are stoned on the stolen meds they take from patients in emergency,if you love your family keep them away from that pit
First time visiting this hospital, i was given great directions over the phone. Upon arrival i was screened for covid and then walked up to the area/floor i needed which was soooo nice or I would have been lost. All the nurses were amazing! So funny and friendly!! Tina helped me get ready and and jack i believe his name was did blood work, nice fella! He even took the time to tell me about what each vile was for. And he had results back in like 5 min! The anastesioogist, dr sternadel, and the rest of the staff were also amazing, friendly happy people! Took all my sugery nerves away! They even wheeled me right down to the car, such service haha! Even the people who called before and after my appt were nice! Great job!!
In Emergency Always long hours waiting (2-3 Hours min) and never get treatment. So much dissapoinment for this hospital. I don’t know something is wrong here. Bad ????????????
Brutal mother had a stroke fell down the stairs, she was there for a week. They missed a broken wrist in two spots and a broken collar bone. Her GP found this and sent her back a month later. idiots
Had an accident in Holiday Valley in Ellicotville after skiing. Thought something was possibly broken or dislocated. Drove 2 hours to get to ER in Welland, arrived at midnight and stayed until about 6:30am to basically only get some X-rays that confirmed no abnormalities, but clearly the pain was due to SOMETHING! I was never seen by the doctor here but the doctor told the nurse to give me Advil and send me on my way and that I should be fine in a few days... without an assessment. Saw a sports therapist two weeks later due to continuous and increased pain who informed me that I actually have torn ligaments in my shoulder with severe damage to rotator cuff and I should have been wearing a sling to help improve it. I’m a bit ticked off because the sling could have helped healing quicker and if I was given just a moment to be assessed, my condition now might have been different. Basically, I sat there for 6.5 hours to only get an X-ray and to NOT be seen by a doctor and to NOT be properly assessed. I was not cared for at all by this team.
Registration is terrible. She knows nothing. Worst experience ever.
Super long wait times. 5hrs and counting. They could at least put some comfortable benches in the waiting room if they expect ppl to wait so long.
The orthopedic surgical team have done an amazing job saving my Mother's life. Along with the nurses on the 4th floor they have been on top of everything and have caught every issue. They have all been kind, compassionate and extremely hard working ! Thank you Welland Hospital!!!
Went in for a 10:00 appointment had to do the screening which took a few mins show up at the x-ray and they cancelled it on me because I was 5 mins late because of the screening.. then told me I had to rebook yet the place was empty and no one around. The kicker was she wouldn't even rebook for me I now have to go rebook again.. This is unacceptable and I was never told to arrive early when making the appointment on the phone to begin with.. this isn't the first time I have been misinformed from the staff at Welland hospital.. there patients services are terrible... Do your self a favor and go to another hospital like St.Catharines as they have great dr's.
Worst emergency experience in my life! Every aspect was terrible!
I am feeling bad pain in my stomach. I am coming hospital around at 4:30 am with ambulance. I am still waiting at emergency centre. Now time is 8:15 am This is called emergency service in canada ? Wow what a patient’s care ????
+ Friendly Stuff. - Waiting Time needs improvement.
Terrible...although some of the nurses were very polite there was a 2 on staff that were extremely rude and unprofessional
This being the same staff that refuses to treat sick people, and wastes good peoples time. I hope all the staff there is offended by this review. My girlfriend's 4 year old daughter had an epileptic seizure, and was refused treatment, and wasn't even referred to a specialist... What a waste. Than my Girl got food poisoning. We went in, and were refused treatment again. Her pain level wont let her sleep, and shes dehydrated, and needs an IV. You people are unbelievably highly unprofessional. Worst hospital I've ever known.
Fantastic ER, saved my wife's live as well as by brother and sister in law I was just visiting the Cambridge ICU that is a disaster, two yezr as behind schedule and the conditions are horrible for staff and patients
Was there for two day surgeries and was an awful experience. Felt very rushed after recovery. Could barely stand and was discharged I was still groggy.
Slowest hospital ever! Doctors sitting around eating pizza while patients are getting very impatient
Just had knee replacement surgery there. The doctors and staff were professional, kind and helpful. The building is old so bathrooms are tight, etc. Never used emergency so I can't comment on that.
Really appreciate the help I got recently from the emergency staff. They helped me out with getting details for my child's appointment with a specialist doctor because I had forgotten the information due to my own medical complications. I have also received communication by mail from the specialist doctor to keep me on track. And thanks to the other team members for working together to get us through after a long wait I know things get hectic sometimes. Really appreciate you guys for your teamwork and efforts. Thank you.
my dad is 82 years old and was in an accident yesterday in severe pain and cant walk and discharged today ! my husband had to go there and pick him up to get in car !! something very wrong with this he couldn't even get out of wheelchair..... I pray nothing happens to him ! shame on this hospital
My mom is currently in Welland County being treated for a broken leg. The nursing staff on her floor are wonderful. It is a far more positive and better environment than some of the other hospitals in the area. I wish the politicians would take their head out of the sand and realise closing all these small hospitals is a bad idea especially when you haven't even started to build the new Niagara Falls hospital that you're promising!
The woolcot wing staff is fabulous. They took good care of my Auntie Sue in her final days. Even bringing her bed out to the nurse station so she wouldn't be alone. God bless you
My mom was sent here recently because she had high blood pressure and was experiencing really awful trmors in her body and she only has one kidney... and had really bad head aches .. . and could not even sit up. The ambulance came to evaluate her then dropped her off at this hospital because the niagara health center bear us wouldn't see her. They wre so unhelpful. They left the TV on so loud while my mom was by herself un a wheel chair far away from anyone ... and her head was hurting so bad akong with her organs. No one wanted to help her . She asked someine to the clerk and security guard to turn the TV.. they said they had no remote . No doctors would tend to her .. ne ned for her to lay on. She was by herself there. .. she's still very sick yo this day and she stayed all night waiting for tests that were half as done ..... I am worried about her health.
W.O.R.S.T HOSPITAL EVER!!! THEY HAVE NO MANNERS, COMPLETELY FORGET ABOUT PATIENTS, LEAVES THE PATIENTS WAITING RIDICULOUS LONG FOR RESULTS. LEAVES THE PATIENTS COLD. THEY ARE THE WORST HOSPITAL. FULL OF IGNORANT STUCK UP NURSES AND DOCTORS THAT THINK THEYRE BETTER THAN THE AVERAGE PERSON BECAUSE THIER DEGREE.
I managed to dislocate and fracture my ankle last month (in a lame, very uncool way) and was brought to emerg by ambulance. I experienced absolutely fantastic care from the moment I was wheeled in. The nurses were so kind, attentive, and sympathetic. I promptly had an assessment, received an IV access, and of course, pain meds. The staff were so great in keeping me informed of what the plan of care was, and they were super gentle while transferring me and my mangled ankle from the stretcher to x-ray table. My good care continued the next day when I had surgery, my surgeon did an AMAZING job, and the nurses in recovery ensured I was comfortable and recovering well. A huge thank you to the staff here for turning such a painful and scary experience into a positive one!
Staff is horribly slow, it was almost painful to watch, took over an hour to even get threw intake, then when she accidentally shut down the computer and the nurse offered to assist me, she told her nah don't worry about it, she's not going any where any time soon ????, zero direction on where to go or what's going on, they sent me for blood work and I didn't even need it, but instead of clearlifying with each other the nurse doing the blood made me go and figure it out myself, not a great experience that's forsure.
I arrived in Emergency at Welland Hospital after having a complication following my open heart surgery at Hamilton Hospital. I had spent a few more days at Welland Hospital and was discharged. Early the next morning I had to return by paramedics. I was greeted by friendly nursing staff who did their work promptly, efficiently and in a calm, pleasant manner. I was also helped by the health care aid who was very personable. I was pleased with the care that I received from these lovely ladies! I am a retired R.N. (fairly recent) so I know all about good nursing, especially since I worked for many years in E.R. I hear a lot of bad things, and it's time that someone brought up something positive about the facility. I have to mention that I also received excellent care in Telemetry, looked after by a very nice Cardiologist on the unit! Great work! Thanks for taking good care of me!!!!
Went to emergency with detached eye problem. Had to wait 4.5 hours to see first nurse practioner then doctor who gave me appointment with specialist ! What a waste of my time ! Was very worried since my eye was involved
Very good
I have been in Wolcott wing for a few months. The nurses and PSW's are amazing. They have tried to do everything they can to make my stay comfortable. And feel like they care. I have had the same experience every time i have been here for after surgical care. I thank them whenever possible but not sure i have been able to convey how much I appreciate them. I have also been in ICU, telemetry, dialysis and 4th floor and 6th floor The nurses are amazing throughout with one or 2 that probably should be finding a better suited job. I have not had as good as an experience with the doctors. I wish they would pay more attention to what patients and nurses say and i think the would do a better job. I just want to thank the many nurses, psws, porters and others that have been amazing to me!
Triage nurse is taking blood with NO gloves!!! Disgusting and unprofessional.
Personal shout outs to night shift ER nurses Ray-Anne and Priyanka. No one likes to be in the ER and for me it was a scary experience. They both made me feel extremely well cared for, I never felt like I was bothering them. Kind, compassionate and attentive. The morning shift swap came with a palpable change for the unit. It sucks being understaffed and I don't pretend to know how staffing works in a hospital, but unfortunately there are still sick people that need care. Management needs to have a better plan for when people call in sick so those that show up aren't burnt out and unable to do their jobs 100%.
Emergency is absolutely the worst. I have been here quite a lot with my grandfather and now with my grandmother. Every time we are in emergency the majority of the staff are completely rude it's rage inducing. It would be nice if you could just review individual sections of the hospital because I don't feel it's right to base such a negative review for just one of the many wings. As a side note things routinely go missing in emergency and people are neglected way too frequently, give the jobs to people who actually enjoy working with the general public. -10 stars to emergency....+10 stars to ICU.
Treatment for me is very good
I honestly didn’t have many issues with this hospital, until my mother had to spend 6 weeks here. My mother was rushed here in the beginning of December 2020 with pancreatitis and delirium due to dementia. Despite a few little things, I was somewhat satisfied with how the staff handled her care. Until she was discharged on January 12th 2021. I understand, that the staff is overwhelmed and exhausted during this pandemic, but that should not be an excuse for negligence. They asked me to take her home, because they needed the bed and that they will provide at home care for her, knowing that she lives alone and requires round the clock care. Not only did they not have adequate care lined up for her, but they failed to mention the covid outbreak on the floor she was on and that she may have been exposed. They also failed to mention that they tested her right before discharge and that the test results wouldn’t be in until the next day. I found out almost 28 hrs later, after caring for her all night and day, that they sent her home with a COVID-19. I was extremely upset, because not only did I become very ill with the virus, making it difficult to care for her, but in the 28 hrs prior to finding out the truth, I could have easily exposed others while picking up her meds and groceries. Most of us are trying very hard to do our part in preventing this virus from spreading. We have been forced to sacrifice our incomes, our freedom and spending time with loved ones. If the healthcare system wants to find relief in the amount of cases filling up their beds, they need to do their part in preventing the spread! Proper communication is extremely important when it comes to life or death! Especially now. I’m fine, but my mother was rushed back to the hospital, this time to Niagara, with pneumonia and other covid related symptoms on January 28th. I haven’t received an update or been able to contact her or the nursing staff in 3 days due to the lockdown. The Niagara healthcare system needs to do better!
Honestly this is the most pathetic excuse of a hospital I have ever encountered. Please avoid if you value your health.
The posted wait time was 1.5 hours. Actual wait time of over 4.
Shout-out to Andrew and Tyler, awesome paramedics.
Would give ZERO stars if I could. My elderly family member was transported there after he woke up from a coma and was shamed, slandered and embarrassed for symptoms. Staff are very rude and oblivious to actually solving your issue, and only worry about sending you home and getting their cheques. Some of the worst medical staff I've ever come across, until they learn manners and doctor-patient boundaries, I wouldnt reccomend this place even if you were dying.

Easy to use and very accurate.
The most terrible experience I had in the hospital a few weeks ago. Took my mum who had sciatic nerve pinch plus not sure other issue on her left leg. The doctor who attended her was unprofessional. He just did not know what to do. Prescribed steroids as it did not help her in any way except made her more hungry. Unhelpful and we waited to see a doctor from 3 pm to 7 pm. She was in her wheelchair in pain. There should be a better and more professional doctors in hospital as it an emergency department, obviously many clients come there because there are in pain and no other choice. I would never go back to that hospital as it was the worst place ever.
Extremely rude no one cares what wrong with you. Docter are quick to make wrong diagnosis. Plan for multiple trips had no choice but to put a star not even worth half a star should be shut down completely at this point
Came here with my partner and these kids at the door told her that she could not come in... yet they let in plenty of other couples after. So my gf had to wait in the car for HOURS!!!! Someone needs to ensure they are providing equal service and rules to everyone that comes here not just picking and choosing who they enforce these rules upon. Terrible experience.
Previously to attending this hospital, I went to two walk in clinics being diagnosed with constipation and given laxatives because I had severe lower abdominal pain. As two days passed by my pain was still present and the fort Erie urgent care centre suggested me to visit the Welland hospital for a CT scan* *just in case*. Luckily for the Welland hospital, the doctor found what was wrong with me (appendicitis) and was very helpful with providing me comfort of staying in the hospital for three days. The nursed and doctors are extremely nice, thank you so much for looking after me !
too busy
Nurses are morbid and rude no expression at all, not good at making you feel comfortable.
welland hospital is a dispicible display of gross mishandling of human life.
Worse hospital ever my husband has been in there three times with his appendix about to burst and all the doctor's are doing is giving him toradol and sending him home. It has been 3 weeks and they still won't do anything just telling him to go back if there is any more pain ugh
A huge thank you to all the fabulous nurses at the Welland Hospital for taking such good care of my dad yesterday. He entered the hospital with great trepidation but they quickly put him at ease. Despite the extremely bad condition due to COVID-19, they took very careful attention to him and guided him all the way. He’s grateful to all the nursing staff that looked after him. He said they were extremely courteous and kind. Thank you for also contacting me several times with frequent updates on his status.
This is not a review of Welland Hospital's emergency ward. As with all emergency wards, the work is thankless. Injured or sick people show up in a very agitated, self-entitled state and expect instant treatment. Their pain, in magnitudes imagined or otherwise, then manifests itself through scathing reviews, often unjustified, frequently anonymous. They do this in the mistaken belief that sticking it to overworked staff will magically improve the situation. We wish to comment on the sixth floor, where our brother, "P", lays dying from a variety of untreatable problems. P has become very difficult for a number of reasons. That is why he is on the sixth floor. He requires intensive care in a sanitary environment. He appears to be getting it. The hallway and his room were neat and orderly. Nitrile glove boxes are everywhere, as are warning signs stressing cleanliness. Hand sanitizing pump bottles are installed at regular intervals. Nurses in this ward are obviously and actively practicing disease prevention. A medical professional accompanying us agreed that the ward was being maintained properly. This past Sunday, four family members went to the sixth floor to visit "P". A nurse noticed us at P's door, and introduced herself as P's nurse. She noticed our hesitancy, and inquired if we were "going in". She presented well and spoke well. She was sympathetic to our visit. She lead us into the room, then told us that if we needed to talk, she would be around. Other patients currently required her attention. She later reappeared to talk. She was patient and diplomatic about the situation. She answered all our questions. We felt neither hurried nor treated dismissively. Considering the challenges of caring for P, she demonstrated tremendous empathy and professionalism. We witnessed her interacting with other patients on the floor, and showing the same warmth that she showed to our brother. We came away with the feeling that our brother, in his difficult situation, was receiving the best care possible from the nursing staff. All end of life patients should receive the level of care our brother's nurse was providing. She is an angel.
My father was brought to emerge today at this hospital with complication to his heart. I have been in touch numerous times since he was brought in via ambulance and with every conversation that I had with any of their staff members, they have treated me with the upmost disrespect and they have absolutely no compassion. With everything that is happening with COVID-19 at the moment, it is very disgraceful and appalling to call anyone from this hospital Frontline Heroes after the treatment my mother and I received today. You should be ashamed of yourself. Rest assure, I have been in touch with the Premier of Ontario in regards to the situation and how everything was assessed. I've also filed a complaint to the Patients Ombudsmen in regards to this hospital and I strongly encourage anyone who encounters any experience such as this one to do the same. After this, I think I will be in touch with the news as well. I think people should should be aware what truly goes on amidst this pandemic behind close doors. These Frontline Heroes are not what they make them out to be.
I went in near the gift shop a female security guard told me no drinks. But did kindly say just drink it outside she did her job... I was actually impressed good job. I couldn't walk one of the staff checked me in new mask and covid questions good job..then kindly got me a wheel chair took me to emergency. Those that have appointments must enter near the side near old cafeteria unless you are told to check in with triage. Appointments and emergency there were booths set up to direct policy and people. The man at the booth and woman in emergency I found very nice yet at times their job was directing and people often wanted to argue with them. I found them direct And they were professional very good. Kept at task covid is hard they kept things clean. Cleaning staff very good bathrooms waiting area clean. The security guards good job . I waited about 2 hours before triage. The nurse full suited up mask shield gloves took great care of clients I observed her. She was pleasant lovely and did all paperwork gave equal attention to her patints. I went in on Wed 29 from 900 til around 4. The doctor staff were great. X-ray tech assistance awesome. I am glad to report how accurate and kind professional wonderful the entire staff was. The triage nurse at 1000 am wins the greatest most compassionate nurse ever. She knows her stuff all of the entire hospital was I couldn't believe it just lovely. You are super heros .Ty.... You have improved alot.... Stay safe... I give them 5 out of 5. I must say I witnessed front staff handle a Rowdy patient wow excellent skills. Good work pleasant and
Go to another emergency. My 90 year old mother cracked a rib coughing and was transported by ambulance to this hospital. She is very weak, has 4 collapsed vertebrae and was left to sit in a wheelchair in severe pain for 3 hours in the waiting room before she saw a doctor (cool room, bad draft in winter, dirty washroom; she was in her nightgown, luckily I could give her my coat). No one came by to offer her water or support. The doctor interviewed her and told her to wait for X-rays but that he'd get a nurse to give her 2 Tylenols for her pain. She wasn't given them. I spoke to reception 3 times over the next HOUR asking for the Tylenol, explained my mother's situation calmly and clearly each time. Each receptionist gave me a different story. My brother finally arrived and went to the drug store and bought her Tylenol. Almost an hour and half after the doctor had said he'd arrange for the Tylenol a nurse showed up with them . Really?? I then asked reception when she'd get in for X-rays because she was in severe pain and was rudely told there were other people in pain in the hospital and I shouldn't be pushy. Really?? I asked another receptionist who was walking by when she'd get in and she said in a few minutes. My mother quietly said to us "Oh, she doesn't know either" and this woman came back and snapped at us viciously, said "I do so know!" (she didn't) and stomped away. Unbelievable!!! We were 5 hours in all in the waiting room and then were sent home because the X-ray was inconclusive. Absolutely horrible service!!
