This Hospital belongs to the category of Hospital.
The staff at Kenmore Mercy does meticulously polite and courteous. At the present time is the best place to go for orthopedic care. Dr. David Pula is an excellent recipe to surgeon and has a cordial bedside manner. Kenmore Mercy is currently in here in two very strict COVID-19 restrictions, which may annoy some people but I find them to be encouraging. Kenmore Mercy’s adherence to cover is an example of your commitment to excellence.
Nice hospital very clean and welcoming. Very helpful staff
Unless you're dying you better have 6 hours to spare because these guys are SLOW.
Not letting people have even a single person stay with them is the most messed up thing. It's not even helpful.
Extremely friendly and helpful staff, got me in and out quickly, discharged quick after I needed some X-rays. Shout out to the medical records staff, the X-ray techs, security staff, and triage staff. They were incredibly helpful to me on one of the worst days I've ever had, and they all went way above and beyond to help me feel better, and not just with the injury. Super, super supportive and wonderful while I was going through some issues whilst in their ER. I will absolutely be returning to this hospital, should the need to do so ever arise.
Customer service sucks you have to wait 6 hours to be called in another 4 -5 hours for a nurse to come in that's if u call a nurse in its terrible I wouldn't recommend it to no one one of the worse hospital I went to
If i could rate this ridiculous hospital a negative 5 i would. Waiting in the ER waiting room for 2 hours because you have no beds available...are you kidding this is a hospital... do not go to this hospital. Horrible.
I was brought in at 4:30 after being rear-ended with major pains I've been sitting in a room with nobody here for over an hour. This is ridiculous I should have gone to ECMC .
I had a total hip replacement at KMH and they were amazing! Everyone was so accommodating, kind and really cared. I continue to use KMH for mammograms, blood work, X-ray and a variety of other services. This hospital is top notch and I would highly recommend them to anyone! A hidden gem of expertise and kindness.
Very unprofessional. Every other word was an f bomb in the reception area in the ER. The ER staff was a joke. My wife was left unattended until the woman ended her shift then said it wasn't her problem. Worst experience in a hospital. Stay away. Go to buffalo general.
E R Staff, kudos very impressed. thank you GOD BLESS YOU ALL...
My mother was not taken care of adequately after her major back surgery. Ignorant aides who don't know how to assist a back operation patient to the restroom ( and who required me to call from out of state daily to get them to assist her to the bathroom). Nurses who didn't know to stop and request pain meds from the doctor for wound care. And other times over medicating my mom that caused vomiting - last thing you want to have happen with major back surgery! I would have given zero stars, but that is not an option!
My mother's experience at Kenmore Mercy deserves more than 5 stars! She started in the ER and was admitted into the hospital for 6 days. Dr. Newman from the ER was very professional and he performed a procedure on my mother which helped lead to her diagnosis. The entire staff on 2 West deserves high recognition! They were all very attentive to my mother's needs and extremely knowledgeable and professional. Dr's Pulo, Martinez and Missert were exceptional!! I'm sorry if I can't remember everyone's name but nurses James, Darren, Chrissy, Tom, and Linda treated her with kindness and respect. Again, everyone was wonderful including the nursing aids. When someone receives this type of treatment it helps with a quicker recovery! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! ❤ Cathy G.
Waiting an hour and a half for pain medicine. Sent me a tray of liquids I didn't order and insurance had better not get billed for. Dr doesn't care if I have pain in my stomach --just wants to push me through the steps. Now waiting an hour and a half for food. Twice, the girl at food service tells me the cart is right outside my door, like I'm stupid. If you're going to lie, make it a believable lie. Makes up story about walkie talkies but never called to find out where this person actually is, just lies to get off the phone.
Terrible wait times, billing issues, wrongful debt collection -- It's tragic, as the doctors are great....stay away from this place.
I went to the emergency room, and they gave me the best care anyone can ask, the nurses where amazing and caring, the doctor explained everything I need to know and was very kind.
Their rehab department and staff are great.. great staff and food.. the doctors are awesome too...
I probably would never write a review for a hospital but Kenmore Mercy Hospital staff are amazing! My daughter recently had surgery at the facility and she was scared and even I was concerned. But right away the nurses and even doctors stepped up and changed all that with smiles, good direction and really cared about my daughters well being. This make the whole process a lot better not only for my daughter but me as a parent. So THANK YOU and although we hope not to see you all anytime soon, we wish you all well.... Never change!
I would never come to this place again.. I’ve been sitting here since 11am and have yet to be called… I can see you guys pick and choose who you want to be seen first.. terrible
I went to the ER yesterday. It took over 3 hours to be brought back. That was the first time I had an issue like this and they didn’t take me right back. I had started having trouble breathing, a migraine, vomiting, I couldn’t move my legs and almost passed out 3x before I could get back. I do want to say had a wonderful Physician & Nurse as well as an EMT in training. The provider wrote me some scripts due to me not being able to walk. I called the pharmacy the next day and all but one RX couldn’t be filled. My pharmacy called the hospital today and despite me going over my medication list 2 or more times the doctor today said they “didn’t know I was on a certain med” which is such a lie because if they opened my chart it’s right there! Now I wait 5 days to see my personal neurologist for help because the doctors less then 24 hours after my long ER visit made decisions for me with out evaluating me or finding out more tot thestory. They didn’t even contact the physician who treated me. I should’ve been admitted but the provider and I discussed my options and I didn’t want to go to rehab. I just want to make this a point of saying that my RN Ruth, Provider Dan V. & emt in training Lenny were so amazing and helpful last night. Idk why the day shift is so shady.
Everyone from the greeter, to the people at admissions, to the volunteers, to the nurses and the doctors, we're so nice and so caring! Everyone had a smile on their face. They made a not so pleasant situation into a wonderful experience! Thank you staff at Kenmore Mercy!!
Never go to this hospital, rude, ignorant, the worst!!!!!!! zero star rated_ Save Your Money & Find somewhere else!!!!!!!!
Friendly staff except surgery entrance the temperature girl was fine. The other was trying to get rid of us immediately as not having surgery and trying to say our goodbyes. The one lady was not polite and gave a bad first impression. Also why isn't the waiting room for surgery open? A major inconvenience to family members. Other staff was wonderful and helpful. I didn't like that we had to wait outside for several hours because family didn't have a room yet. They need to be more accommodating. Once got in the rest was a good and pleasant visit.
They are possibly one of the slowest hospitals. Came to the ER at 8:30pm it is now 3:30 am and still haven’t seen a doctor yet!! This should be an illegal time frame to be see especially at the emergency room!! The one star is for it being clean Doctors and staff is very rude and in-compassionate and work on their own times. So sad.
I was on the 2nd floor for 3 days just recently,,,,The staff was fantastic, took time to listen and were always there..Thanks Kenmore!!
Horrible treatment. They ordered tests as I was in so much pain, the tests came back showing a variety of issues and only offered me aspirin. Never will go there again.
Absolutely horrible place some staff is nice others seem lost and i just sat here for almost an hour pressing the silence button on my empty medication!!! It is 5 a.m. im on no sleep due ro the amount of pain I've been in!!!! And so much more but its not worth wasting anymore of my time!!!!! Poor excuse for a medical facility!!!
Nice security staff at front desk and very clean place to visit and spend time with a love one ????
Everyone was very kind and helpful.
I could write a book about the awful care that was given to my dad with Alzaheimers. First we removed him from the VA due to horrendous care. We had 1 day at Kenmore Mercy and we thought it all was good, by day 2 the care was deteriorating...by day 4 my dad might have well been caring for himself. RNs saying "that's not my job," no aide to take him to the bathroom, 3 cups of coffee given to him when his chart says NO COFFEE...NO CAFFEINE. Incorrect medicine, high blood pressure pills given to him when he has LOW Blood pressure. Doctors who did not give a crap (Dr Koch). Dr. Koch even told my mother that he wanted to meet with her on Friday....come to find out, its his day off and never came in. INCOMPETENT, UNCARING, CLUELESS....AND he was never even given a room for 4 days.. he was in the hallway!!!!!!! DO NOT GO TO KENMORE MERCY!!!!
I would like to first say that the doctors and nursing staff are wonderful. The wait isnt USUALLY too painfully long depending on if u are coming in with a real emergency or if its just a tummy ache or a cold. Unfortunately, its not all good. They do your triage at the front desk. So all those uncomfortable questions like "why are you here today" and "how much do you weigh" and "when was your last period"...etc...etc.. The whole waiting room hears it all. No effort is made to ensure your privacy. It made me so umcomfortable. Then, as someone else said, there is the matter of age. Three elderly people came in after me. One with swelling in his leg, another with flu symptoms, and the third had been sent over by her doctor. (Again, i know this because triage is at the front desk!). I was there with swelling and severe pain from a sprained ankle that was shooting up to the knee i had previously broken. All 3 that came in after me were taken back and seen first. I came in to a waiting room with one person in it. I just dont see how that makes sense. I feel like these are 2 issues that could definitely use some work.
I was taken by ambulance to Kenmore mercy on march 3 wound up staying til march 8 then due to branding my leg in 3 places the experience I had was just wonderful no negativity the emergency room staff was amazing stays very kind and every single person who took care of me while I stayed there was kind and helpful just made u feel important even the drs in the or were great thank u all
I had Dr. Thomas Westner in the er. He was very good! Walked in up beat awake and ready! He did alllll test to make sure he found out the issue. He was on top of eveything and showed much concern about my issue and was familiar with my history. I hope dr westner gets the appropriate attention he needs for helping me in the Kenmore mercy ER.
Thank you for everything for the past 55 years.. I even celebrated my 55th birthday with y'all.. I got some titanium and some plastic..Thanx again. My knee feels very good.. and what a buzz .. that local and the epidural knock me out, I was gone.. I can't remember anything...lol
My wife is pregnant she was bleeding, they call her in less than 5 minutes. The ER staff was very nice and friendly. Big thanks to Jessica Martin for taking great care of my lovely wife!!
Huge thank you to the women and men on 2 East. I've never been treated so wonderful. And to Dr Knott and his team y'all are Amazing. Last but not least the triage nurse and ER Doctor thank you for taking care of me so fast.. This was truly the most positive experience I've ever had at a hospital.
I really don't know how this place operates the way that they do. I was told to come in at 240 for a 3 pm appointment. I walk up to the window at 330 and the lady behind the desk told me I never checked in. Even though I checked in on the kiosk and then handed her coworker (seated right next to her) my script. Unfortunately this is the third time I've come here and the third issue I've had.
This hospital is understaffed. Took my son to the ER for a broken ankle and it took hours. There were three nurses for the entire emergency room. Your vitals are done in public at the front desk for everyone to see/hear...the staff did not use universal precautions when entering or leaving the room. I would not recommend.
Both times I have came here they front counter has told us theurs no beds available. Wth is going on that you have no beds available makes no sense this is a hospital. Then on top of it we asked fir an ice pack and still have yet tp receive one. Honestly im gonna stop coming here if "tgey dint have beds available"
I had a stress test after having chest pains. All of the staff were super kind and courteous. One nurse even made an extra call to try and reach the doctor. This was an exceelent exprerience by caring staff. Thank you
I have nothing but glowing reviews for this facility. It started with great communications from preoperative staff to the wonderful care of the OR department and 2 South.Being a nurse myself I know how hectic the floors are, but I was treated with kindness and respect. The food was like being in a 5 star restaurant and discharge couldn't have gone any faster and smoother. You should all be proud of your hard work and dedication.
Last night i was in the emergency room it took 3 hours to be seen and i was 3rd in line they took everyone else that came in after me. The receptionist at the front desk was rude. The nurses never came with my medicine. they didn't check on me after they hooked me up. It took from 5pm to 9pm to get a ct scan. LAZY WORKERS. IGNORANT STAFF. and the nurse put my IV in wrong.WORST HOSPITAL IN BUFFALO NEW YORK.
I went at midnight 11.22.20 and my experience was great. The team in the front including the security guard was courteous and kind. I was taken to the back within 5 minutes of filing out the clip board paper to a room and got blood work down and saw a doctor within an hour of getting there and was out within 4 hours (waiting for blood work results). I looked at the bad reviews and anticipated the worse but I think the key is going very late at night. I had went to Suburban the other week and didn't have a good experience. This place is really good.
Great for Geriatric emergencies & care. Also for any type of serious surgery.
Decent emergency room staff, I came in with a fractured ankle around 10am on a Thursday. Only waited about an hour. When I went to the pharmacy window to inquire about filling my prescription that was given to me 10min earlier by the doctor the pharmacy rep Anna I think her name was, was extremely rude and very condescending to me almost as if she was being bothered or inconvenienced with helping me. The experience I had with her killed the whole experience with Kenmore mercy. Even tho the hospital is close to me and my family we won't be going there again. Thanx pharmacy rep from hell...maybe you should switch to a secluded job position were you won't have to interact with people.
NEVER GO TO THE ER. The staff there (Nurses) are EXTREMELY RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL. I have never been treated so poorly, they are ignorant and judgemental. You ask for help and are told to "go back to your room and be quiet" disgusting. I plan on speaking to someone regarding the way I was treated while there, I'm sure they've had PLENTY complaints about this issue. ABSOLUTELY disgraceful.
We’ve been here twice in the past week, once to get stitches, and then again to have them removed and the staff was amazing both times. Welcoming, friendly, helpful, telling jokes to ease the pain of stitches etc. While the wait to get stitches in was longer then what we would’ve liked, we understood it was busy and there were higher priority patients then us in the ER. Overall a positive atmosphere and experience!
I am actually in Kenmore Mercy right now recovering from spinal fusion and while the staff Venn be very busy at times, a few minor issues can tie up thing considerably, but I've had nothing but great care since I walked in here. The staff are, warm, funny, friendly, professional and Senn to care very much about providing great care.
The nurse bruised my arm when drawing blood. It’s very painful and I feel she was being unneccesarily rough when trying to get a sample. I was already in pain and sick and this made me mistrust all the staff there and made me weary of seeking medical attention from them. I wish I could post pictures of my arm just to create a visual on how bad it really is.
Very very slow ! They don't even be busy the all just move around slow! I don't like it and I won't be coming back! Got here at 1230am and it's 517am!!!!!
From start to end- a five. I had a hip replaced in April 2017. The rooms are immaculate, the operating room spotless. Doctors and staff very caring and professional. Rehab very knowledgeable and concerned. Food was above average for a hospital.
Everyone is so nice and so caring! I wish I had written down names. I was in for Ambulatory Surgery and absolutely everyone was smiling and friendly. I do remember Barbara who had been through the same procedure I was facing. Her kind words put me at ease. And Pat who did the post op checklist, told my husband I couldn't carry laundry baskets :) and then wheeled me out to the car. Thank you everyone at Kenmore Mercy!!
I left AMA because my dr was terrible. I was sent here from immediate care with a fever of 103.3 and they checked my temperature 1 time when I checked in. I recently had a ton of bloodwork done ( made me extremely ill ) so I asked if they could find it with health e link. They didn’t want to nor could they read the chest X-ray that immediate care gave me. The two blondes who were there were rude. I didn’t understand why. I was out of it due to my fever they AGAIN NEGLECTED TO CHECK MORE THAN ONCE. When I told the dr I was an addict in recovery his demeanor ( and the nurses ) changed. WASTE OF TIME GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.
I was there with My son because he is bleeding in his foot and i was waiting to much more then hour, for nothing just waiting and nurses told maybe u will wait more and my son still bleed and I tack my son out the hospital to mash urgent care people in mash they do good job
When I refuse to do a certain treatment in the ER because I've had it done before and the results always came back positive. I asked if there was any other treatment that i can do he gave me an attitude. And said were not out-patient. Very rude experience.
I waited almost 7 hours to be seen. I had a 103 degree fever and was in horrible pain. When given my IV, it was done so poorly that there was a pool of my blood on the floor and my arm was soaked in my blood.
Went to be seen due to very bad pains in lower area I was there at 2:15am was in the room by 2:37am blood work was taken fast but after that didnt see anyone come back till 5am noone stopped to ask if i was ok and then the doctor came in didnt tell me his name of the persons name that was with him he asked a few questions i told him my obgyn told me to come in if the pain didnt go away and all he said was he will check it out he orderd one test and then didnt come back for another hour and it was only my self and another person in the ER the nurse told me that it was a very very slow night and only my self and another person i waited for hours and. Got nothing
Will always be my first choice for emergency care!! From the get we went in a wrong entrance but the security officer was so curteous got me a wheel chair and told us how to get to the ER entrance. The reception staff was polite and answered all our questions. From the nurse ( and Emt student) to the CT scan operator everyone was so exceptional. Dr. Newman was a delight and I'm so happy he even has me set up with a follow up dr so that I can continue care.
I don't usually write reviews, this review is for when I entered the ER 12/2015. I was taken into triage with my husband and discovered I was experiencing early pregnancy symptoms for the first time. Even though I was told they no longer take inn pregnancy cases, I explained to them how I was born at the hospital and they kindly made a exception and called inn staff to help me confirm the pregnancy was normal and healthy. Besides this time, my family and self have always had the best care here and have been very satisfied with the service I had received over the years. People who complain about wait time have no understanding of how ERs apparently function.
Not happy that my first time EVER being here (work related) I told the lady at the front desk (emergency after hours) that I need to get to the 3rd floor and her response was a rude, snappy voice saying "WHERE ON THE 3RD FLOOR"?! I could only imagine how off putting that kind of poor uncompassionate response would be for someone showing up in a emergency situation for a loved one hospitalized here. Do the workers here forget that its a hospital and people my be very scared or sensitive when coming in? Workers shouldn't be allowed to be so nasty to people coming in and asking for help.
I had surgery last week… everyone was wonderful. Thank you.
I had surgery on 02/25/20 with Dr. Fahrbach and Dr. J. Siddiqui. My registration process was great, Tracy in Registration was helpful, warm and Friendly. I must acknowledge the nursing staff: Bruce and Barb in pre-op Renee in recovery Marianne in Post-op Also, Mary the Nursing Asst. in Recovery Kassim from Security The nurses were very professional, skilled, friendly and helpful with all the information I needed. I had very few questions because they explained everything in detail. Their caring and concern was very evident. The Nursing Asst. made sure I was warm, comfortable and safe. Kassim from security was helpful and professional. I have had many surgeries in the last 15 years at various WNY hospitals and as I said last January, Kenmore Mercy is at the top of the list. Everyone I dealt with was not just professional but courteous, friendly and showed a true concern for my physical and emotional well-being. Even the people at reception, volunteers, phlebotomists (and Tim Horton’s) were a pleasure to deal with. I would recommend KMH to anyone needing in or outpatient services. Kudos to all the staff. Edward Wells East Amherst NY.
The ER staff was pretty good, but when admitted, things fell apart. Lack of communication between shifts and doctors, unrealistic timelines given, confusion on tests and treatment... If we ever need an ambulance again, I'll have them take which ever of us over to suburban.
I am writing this review not to hurt anyone's feelings, but to give what I hope will be a constructive critique. My mom struggles with chronic pain daily. She never complains and is always in good spirits. She recently had back surgery to try to relieve some of her daily suffering. Unfortunately due to so much inflammation she fractured a disc AFTER the first surgery. She needed a second emergency surgery the following week. My mom came into Kenmore Mercy following first surgery because she was having pain through the roof above a ten that was constant and relentless. She was shaky and out of it. This was very very hard to witness. She was in so much pain she was out of it and shaking could not more and barely could talk. My first night there Dani came to relieve one of the nice nurses unfortunately I don't remember the nice nurses name because you don't expect to be treated poorly at a hospital by staff. And believe me there were plenty of compassionate nurses who treated my mom with love, dignity and respect. God bless them for that. Dani was super rude to my dad, brother and I. she rushed us out of the door when I tried to explain my mom's situation to her (about the pain) she cut me off rudely said "I know, I know shut the door on your way out." my brother tried telling her something as well and same cold, rude response. Dani did you know my mom's story? That she struggles with daily pain? That she is trembling in pain and deserved kindness and compassionate? I am not sure. Next time please listen to your patient's family-even if you're stressed and dealing with things in your life you are not happy about. We count on you to help us-Another nurse (again don't know name). Came the following day. She rubbed my mom's hand and comforted her showing her so much COMPASSION. My mom thought she was an angel. She said Sarah even though my pain was through the roof she made me feel better. She was patient and reassured me everything was going to be okay. THANK YOU KIND NURSE. Then the following day (don't know name, she was overweight though that is the only description I got from my family to describe her) Refused to give my mom her medication. My mom was crying in pain and it took this nurse 4 hours to administer the medication. LET ME AGAIN reiterate she was AUTHORIZED to distribute it. My mother was crying this nurse was so RUDE. Unknown name nurse. Please reflect on your POOR attitude and torturous decision to withhold medication that would relieved some of my mom's pain. Go home and think if that was you or your mom. Do you really want this job? YOU'RE a nurse. Please read Kenmore Mercy's mission and think long and hard about "is this job for me?". You failed that day and you hurt my family and I deeply. And now to nurse Erna. You have been kind and professional. Thank you. Thank you for not being desensitized. Thank you for listening to my mother and helping her through this awful experience. Also food staff AWESOME-above and beyond. May God bless and help Kenmore Mercy-
I was there today, a while back for my husband and for my mom. The comment below that the doctor's don't give a crap is 100% on. They just do it because it's their jobs. I came in for a lump in my leg and having a tough time with my flu so needed fluids. While in the waiting room i hyperventilated and passed out for a minute. Was told "don't hyperventilate so you won't pass out". I dunno, maybe it's easy for you to say since you're not the one super sick. Then the front desk fails to tell the nurse that I had the flu so the nurse comes in accusing us "oh, you should tell me that you have the flu so I can wear a mask. you need to tell us". Accusing instead of compassionate. When my husband had his appendectomy we first didn't know what was wrong. He was in real distress and breathing heavy. We once again got the "don't breathe so heavy and you won't feel dizzy". I dunno, maybe that's the only thing that made him feel better. And trust me, he is NOT a complainer and was a couple of hours away from it rupturing if we didn't come in to get the emergency procedure done. Want more? I developed a sharp ear pain while in the waiting room. Doctor "didn't see" anything and continued to dismiss my increasing discomfort by the minute. He finally then looks again and says "oh yeah, I do see some inflammation and some blood. I'll give you some drops." Essentially because that was not a symptom that I came in for he did a half assed job taking it into consideration and moved on to what was reported on paper. Nurse also gave us the "well, he didn't see anything. You were there weren't you?" Instead, how about "you know what, you're obviously still in distress, let me get the doctor in here again". Now having been there 3 times I can say with confidence: the doctors and nurses need training in compassion and empathy. We will NEVER give our business to this place. Expect the same when you go there.
this is the worst hospital ive ever been 2 people with nasty attitudes! and u will prob die from what ever injuries you have before they even see you .... emergency room has the same waite time as the regular office... so if ur arm is falling off and hanging by a tred... Take A Seat !!!
I’ve been to the ER here several times throughout my life. My most recent visits haven’t been the most pleasant. At my last visit I was advised by my Dr to go to the ER. Due to fevers I was experiencing for 2 days straight & a rash that I developed that spread throughout my entire body. I had been tested for covid prior to my visit at the ER & the results where negative. At my ER visit I was seen by Dr Krier. He kept saying he “thinks”I have “COVID”, because my bloodwork shows traits of a virus. However that the covid test results they did at the ER weren’t ready yet. He then discharged me & told me to isolate until I hear back from someone about my positive results. I didn’t receive proper care during that visit. They Didn’t look into my severe rash. Didn’t prescribe me any medication for the rash. Of course I went home & my rash worsened. Benadryl did nothing for it. The following morning I was able to get a hold of my PCP & they then told me my results from the ER covid testing were negative “Shocker”. Thankfully I was able to be seen at their office & received proper care. Some Drs at kenmore mercy are great! However it seems that others don’t have a clue as to what they are doing.
I sat in the ER for 3hours for them to laugh all night talk and play around and not see me. Then their rude, had me laying on dirty lining they never took the lining off to put clean lining on. The doctor was laughing with the staff and going to everyone else room besides mine to take care of me. This was my first time going here and I would never ever go again. I wouldn't recommend no one to this hospital. It wasn't busy it wasn't that many patients for them to be having me sitting there all night.
I had went there a few times 1 time was because i had fell out the bed only after a week of have major back surgery (which i have 16 screws and 2 rods in my back) i told them that i only wanted 2 make sure everything was ok and still on place they had me sit in the waiting area of the emergency waiting room and the longer i waited the more the pain was getting worse. Till i walked 2 the front desk 2 c how much longer i collapsed bc my legs went numb still had 2 wait another 2 hours. Then a few day after that i had a food allergy situation where i had 2 stab myself with an epipen they had me wait a few hours then the last time i went was a few days later my legs kept going numb so i went there bc its the closest to my house. The doctor then told me b4 walking out the room i dont want to see u here again. Like im going 4 major medical emergency and. He told me he dont want 2 c me back there. Never again. I would rather go out my way 2 go 2 buffalo general hospital
I can now understand all the 1 star reviews. I learned first hand today. There was one nurse with no bedside manner and the ER girl that checked me in today who spoke to my husband in a condescending tone when he asked her a simple question of how long will it be before I get called back in a nearly empty waiting room. When she called me over to sit down to take my blood pressure, after the reading was displayed, she didn't release the pressure cuff until my hand and fingers went numb. During my wait for all the tests I had done, I needed to use the rest room. Because I was hooked up to an IV, I needed to push the call button which was hanging on a hook above my head and not next to me in my bed so I had to stretch up to reach it. It took nearly 30 minutes for somebody to answer. The reason for the 3 stars is because the PA (Matt) that saw me was pleasant and thorough. My recommendation is to send some of their other staff to take a course in human interaction.
I ended up at Kenmore Mercy Sunday when I woke up noticing my heart rate felt funny. When I got to the ER, the staff got right to work on me and found out I was in rapid AFib. The staff in the ER was so attentive to my needs and worked together to get my heart rate under control. My nurses Missy (and I feel awful for not remembering the other name), were so amazing! Dr. F was so great keeping me informed and making sure he didn’t miss anything when it came to testing and treatment. I stayed the night on 3 East and can’t say enough good things about every single staff member on that floor! From house keeping to dietary to the nurses aides, nurses and doctors. Everyone made me feel like they had my condition under control and I mattered. It helped ease my anxiety about what I was going through. My nurses Tonya and Gina as well as my admitting nurse (I’m sorry I can’t remember her name) were Incredibly caring and compassionate. KMH you have wonderful staff and should be very proud of the employees who represent you. Thank you for such great care! -R.Higgins
Everyone was very caring and polite
We want to thank the staff for taking care of our mom. For making her last days comfortable and cared for, for allowing the whole family visit her regularly with no yime limit.
I just had a total hip replacement. From the pre surgery testing, before surgery education class, the pre op, surgery, recovery room , second floor hospital room and physical therapy gym, I never met so many nice people. The food is better than a hotel. Every employee knows their job and are good at it. Doctors and Nurses are the best. I can never say a negative thing about Kenmore Mercy Hospital. Thank you for everything!
The best experience in a hospital great staff Great procedure , pretty much instant pain relief , Dr Landi delivered ...
Too slow
It was ok, for a hospital. Request plastic ware to eat with. The silverware is dirty. The food is bad. The NP was the best, she had a southern accent. She was real, didn’t belittle me or make me feel like a nuisance and treated me like I had a brain. The other people sort of act like you are a baby or are really old. It’s awkward.
The worst hospital ever! Don’t recommend anyone going there! Was in more pain from when I first got there from waiting and sitting and not having anything in my room to get comfortable! The most rude and ignorant people there all together! Sat there in a room for over two hours with no pillow or sheets! Waiting for a nurse to just come in to get information and when I asked they said someone will be right with you! Another lie, another wait for over two hours with still nothing ! So I walked out! I highly recommend going elsewhere where you will get the actually help you need!
NEVER GO TO KENMORE MERCY'S ER UNLESS YOU WANT TO DIE THERE..THE WORST HOSPITAL IN BUFFALO !!!
Dr. Rainville another reason why kenmore mercy sucks!!! Now I should know better because I used to be an EMT and I know what those doctors say behind closed doors about patients, but it's close my house so I figured what the heck!!! Well Dr. Rainville comes in and she clearly can't be bothered with her high and mighty attitude and didn't even look at me and said "I don't know why you're here there's nothing I can do for you" ....well KMH I can save you her over paid salary ....I just looked on google for some suggestions that really worked....employ doctors that care...these guys are burnt out
Worst experience ever between waiting for 2 hours just to see a nurse and a doctor that doesn't care about any patients n was just in the hall the whole time trash talking the hospital it was a waste of money I just went there because it was close to my house but never again
The worst hospital to be at. First i waited to be call in (3 hours later). Then I waited another 3 hours to be seen and get a Xray. Then the nurses started getting a attitude because i ask for the person in charge. Then a doctor came in and said we all back up but they have 3 plus doctors in their. He said they where short handed. Then he told me Millard fillmore hospital is backed up so "good luck". Then i ask for my release papers and the nurses where giving me more attitude. They almost refuse to give me the number for the hospital. I will be filling another complaint. I will drive a extra 15 mins in pain to see a better hospital then to EVER COME BACK TO THIS ONE AGAIN.. I didn't even want to give them one star. They deserve NONE.
6 hours in emergency still ain't get seen
Short staffed, ignorant from top to bottom!!!...all that money spent on a gorgeous waiting room and you still take vitals in front of everyone!!??...
Wonderful experience with the Nurses and doctors here, felt comfortable and well cared. Very empathetic and professional
would not recommend waiting room , always a 3+ hour wait
terrible er have been there twice in a month for same reason. first time only say by practitioner very poor nurse cold as ice could care less poor results poor communication slow as molasses and just all around terrible second visit much more pain dr was not nice non carrying and very matter of fact type and was annoyed if you have a question let me give you an example they gave me morphine first time i ever got it 4mg i felt nothing but a slight headache very little relief at end i said to dr is it normal to not feel much relief after getting 4 mg of morphine he said i don;t no i never took it now that is a cocky stupid rude answer he was like that through the entire process nurse was non carrying and poor and I am a huge nurse advocate. both times the er nurses sucked. this is a catholic hospital I would think thy would offer better bedside manners and demand it. shame on ken mercy I don;t think I will be going back there anymore I was very disappointed Also I brought a friend with me this second trip he thought had the same feeling as I Who every is doing training and hiring at this hospital should be fired! I think they all should get treatment there and see how it feels!! finally all the aids assistants I encountered were very nice much nice than medical staff the front desk nurse int he check in area waited on me 2 times always on her cell phone looks strung out and does a very poor job (ling blond hair) The one nurse tonight who took me back was exceptional I wish she could have been my nurse! The rest just terrible Like I said I don;t think I can go back I will have to drive further to another hospital! Shame on you Kenmore Mercy
Poor service for my Sister. Should not have been sent home.
I spent 2 days in Kenmore mercy and everyone was wonderful. The nurses were great and very helpful. The doctor's were very nice as well. The hospital rooms were spotless and when I was in the emergency room first they were great as well. The emergency area was great the doctor's and nurses were great as well. All the doctor's and nurses were all happy and seemed to enjoy everything they did. And a couple weeks after that stay I had out patient surgery and pre testing and the surgery and my doctor and the nurses were wonderful. I give the hospital an A+++. Thank you all so much for taking such good care of me. Sincerely Carol Orrange. .
Fast n friendly
waiting long time but nobody call. worth place. spoil whole day. Don't go there
I went to Kenmore Mercy for a cervical spine fusion this past August. The surgery went well, except as we found out later I had been oversaturated with IV fluids during the surgery causing severe coughing and breathing problems sending me to Urgent Care 5 days later feeling as if I were drowning, My biggest complaint here is the nursing staff that attended to room 2114 bed A. Many of them were polite and helpful. The lady in bed B with a knee replacement had her buzzer on for 42 min during the night for bathroom assistance, No one came and she had to hobble to the BR by herself. I had to ask for food at 8pm since nothing was offered. The next day after being signed off by the PA, I had to wait in severe pain for more than 2 hrs to be released. This one nurse (N) would not give me any pain meds, said the paperwork was not completed and refused to do anything to expedite my leaving. She also refused to change my roommates knee bandage which was bleeding and oozing. Finally after begging her and my husband talking to people at the MDs office, she came in, told me I was lucky, because she was letting me go first, because I had harassed her all morning. When I asked her to repeat what she had just said, she said she was just kidding. IS THIS WHAT A PROFESSIONAL NURSE DOES WHILE ON DUTY? DISGUSTING. I will never go back to Kenmore Mercy.
I just had the most amazing experience when having an MRI, from the registration procedure to the actual test, promptly done and professional. The MRI staff had a wonderful actitud, friendly and helpful!! The scan machine is only one year old!! Thank you everyone for your care!!
Horrible wait times over an hour and half for xrays and bloodwork I left before even getting the xrays and now have to go to a different hospital. I saw the reviews but was hoping they fixed the issues they have not. Honestly who ever is in charge should be really embarrassed by the service this hospital offers and will be looking for a new primary care physician
Was in the ER for my wife yesterday. Once they knew what she was there for she was having an EKG within 7 minutes. She was triaged and blood drawn long before she was in a room. Long evening but communication was great with the nurses. Dr. Horton was fabulous and personable.Through a process of elimination through testing and some medications we were home to sleep in our own house with confidence that her care was right on target!
It was the best experience I've had in a hospital ever! The nurses and aids went above and beyond their duties the doctors are amazing. The ttherapy unit is outstanding .oh and lets not forget the food delicious! Even house keeping staff were very friendly t
I had to get a hip replacement. The doctor were very nice ???? I had no problems with the replacement. The staff was great
went in today for a mammogram. They have these god awful Kiosks' thatI you have to sign in via touch screen. The touch screen really didn't work and I know computers. There is even a slot for you to scan your own cards. I gave up and had the option to go to a really person so I did. When I told the woman checking me in how bad the kiosks are she acted like I'm the crazy one. I wonder how much money they spent on these machines but did away with so many jobs and outsourced others.
December second 2015. My mother was brought by ambulance for a massive stroke. Our entire family was waiting to see what could be done. Dr Matti said she will be at almost 50% by the time she leaves. Well the doctor gave us hope but mom went down to the hospice ward and passed on the 22nd. Thanks for the false hope
Been to many area hospitals and Kenmore mercy is far and away the kindest and most caring in every single aspect and detail. I was astounded. They left no stone unturned.
I think like this is the worst hospital ever in Buffalo. I don’t leave reviews but I literally wait four hours in a waiting room. I went there to emergency because my son had a fever really bad over 100. I literally waited four hours and nobody called me at all I had to leave go to different hospital. There was ppl waiting for over 6 hours. Everybody go to emergency for a reason we’re not here to waste our time. This is the worst hospital. Show some love and care. I wish I could give you no star.
The care I received in the ER at Kenmore Mercy Hospital was excellent!! The entire staff was very efficient and extremely kind and compassionate ✝️???? Sincere appreciate for helping me!!
The ER is lacking professionalism. I had to see a PA Ludwig ER she was very young with a terrible demeanor. I requested to speak to an attending physician. I then spoke with a young doctor Raymond Kelly. Both only wanted to treat me with pain medications. I explained I did not want to mask the pain I wanted to know the cause. At that point I can with an informed treatment decision can be made. I do know I have a lower back disc issue from military. They refused to have mri completed. I had to request a xray which they did. This does not show disc issues. They then tried to prescribe me more pain medications. They did not really even examine me. Would be a 0 but won't let. Be smart stay away from this hospital.
I haven't gone to the doctors for anything in a long time I needed to go to the emergency room today and this is where I was told I should go. I most definitely have to say that when they told me what was going to happen I was ready to walk out and say no way. But the nurses I had three of them come in today we're all so friendly and kind and very concerned about how I was doing they made me feel very comfortable probably the most comfortable I've ever felt any where in my life they did an outstanding job at making me feel comfortable and the doctor was great too he was very kind himself and did a good job explaining why the treatment option I had was the only option I had the two people I talk to at the receptionist desk there when you walk in the door we're also very nice I was very nervous my anxiety was getting the best of me but they made me feel much better too they talk to you they make sure to make eye contact with you and to understand your problem all and all this is the best hospital you can go to thank you Kenmore Mercy for all your help today
Do not go there!!!!
I had surgery on my neck 4 days ago and the entire hospital staff treated me very well from the moment I arrived until the moment I went home. I was registered, prepped, and in surgery in no time and had all the attention I needed the entire two days I was there. I would like to thank all of the Dr.s, OR staff, nurses, aides, clergy and food service employees for taking great care of me during my time of need. I could not have asked for better treatment.
The ER at kenmore mercy hospital is beyond substandard. If you are an individual in pain who would like to be seen by a Doctor, this is not the place for you. I understand that ERs can get busy, but I have sat in this waiting room for over 6 hours without an idea of when I will be seen. I have watched 7 people leave here without being treated because the wait has been so tediously long. The woman behind the desk is the rudest person I have ever witnessed and I havent even personally interacted with her. I will never come to Kenmore Mercy again.
Staff for my recent knee replacement was phenomenal. From Doctors, RN's, staff, pt, to house cleaning. All smiles and very professional
worst hospital ever I went there on November 15 2021 the staff was very. rude. let's just say I left. will never go there again
I wanted to give 5 stars but I caught the front desk ER nurse “rolling her eyes” as I was trying to answer her question regarding how long I had been in pain!!! I found her to be very professional!! Unfortunately, she didn’t stop there. She walked up behind me, started pushing me in the wheelchair to the treatment area and never said a word!!! She didn’t say where she was taking me just walked up really ignorant and started pushing like she was a volunteer. My spirit says if I was a 60 yo polish woman she would’ve been more patient. She needs sensitivity training to start!!! If I was in charge she would be unemployed... I can spot a workplace liability a mile away!!!
No sense of urgency. Unable to receive appropriate treatments due to “weekend”. Unacceptable communication.
I had surgery last week, and even though it was around the holidays, all the Doctors, Nurses, Assistances, and Staff were full of holiday cheer. They all went above and beyond the call of duty. From the moment I was admitted to the day I was discharged, each of the staff was fully committed, taking their time to care for me and making sure I was comfortable. I just want to say thank you, to all of the Doctors, Nurses, and staff members that assisted me everyday while I was in the hospital during my recovery!!!
It's the worst hospital especially the emergency room .the waiting time is so long even you have a sever pain.the nurse on reseptior so rude .waiting time is more than 7 hours. Sitting with my daughter. She have deep cut on finger. Still bleeding. No body gave her attention. Front desk staff are totally rude .now after 5 hour 3.30am we are going back our home without any treatment. Still bleeding my daughter have worse pain and front desk nurses not gave us anything. Totally rude .Totally rude. Totally rude .why they open the hospital and hire rude staff. If you want save your life please do not go in Kenmore Mercy Hospital
My 93 year old mother was sent to Kenmore Mercy ER by ambulance last Friday afternoon with a severe cough and chest congestion. We feared it was pneumonia, which it turned out not to be. When I arrived, she was in a room in the ER and was seen by a nurse within a few minutes and a doctor within a half hour, that was the good part. He had her nebulized 3 times over the next 5 hours before making a decision that she should stay overnight in the hospital...really? No pain meds or cough suppressant until I got angry and demanded he do something to make my mother more comfortable. She could barely stand or walk...we waited 9 hours in the ER before being taken to a room at 2 AM. The next day, I arrived at noon to find her in agony. She has post hepatic neuralgia from shingles over a decade ago. She gets a lidoderm patch on the area of pain, plus neurontin and lortab. She had been given a lortab earlier in the morning...the Lidoderm Patch and neurontin had not been ordered for her by the doctor. The nurse told me that as soon as the doctor arrived, she would ask him to order them...hours passed...I demanded some action and finally the patch and neurotic arrived...then the doctor. I was furious. What would have happened had my mother not had me to advocate for her? Later in the day I left for about 20 minutes, only to return and hear my mother crying out. I found her naked in her bed flaying her arms...an aide was changing her bed linens and her gown, but I couldn't believe how little compassion that this was done. We spent one more day at Kenmore Mercy and then, mercifully, my mother was sent home to her assisted living residence. Although I was appalled by how my mother was treated by numerous members of the staff, there were several who were kind and caring...and I thank them for making the experience more bearable. I do not plan to choose Kenmore Mercy as the hospital of choice in the future.
Terrible wait time in the emergency room. And receptionist was mocking an angry customer that walked out.
Fantastic service from Doctors, nurses, & health care aids. Best hospital care I've ever had. Food was delicious. Highly recommend this hospital.
I came in here because my arm feels awful. Thought I might have a blood clot. The lady that works at the ER was nooo help. She was kind of rude. Told me cant help me until i sign in. She even said this isnt a clinic, I dont understand what she ment by that but obviously I know where I am. So i left. I rather take the risk then talk to her any longer. Making me feel like Im lying about how I feel. Well, screw you Kenmore Mercy.
Sitting in the waiting room more than four hours and it’s empty longest Wait ever last time I will come in here
fast track WHAT A JOKE. HERE ALREADY HOUR HALF YET TO SEE DOCTOR.
Thank u for the best care I could have received. The staff is fabulous. The nurses, Kitty, Lynn, Shaina, Tammy, the lady with the great perfume and some I can’t remember. Thank u thank u thank for making me comfortable. I highly recommend Kenmore Mercy.
Worst hospital every wait time sucks nurse staff sucks rude cant answer a single question dr say be back in 5 to 10 minutes never show back up to tell you the resualts when you can see online quicker will never step foot back in this place again I highly recommend going somewhere else not with 1 minute wait here if I was the hospital I start reading alot of these reviews more and restructure the staff to make it better
This place is a joke sat here over 7 hours in the waiting room with my daughter who broke her shoulder. In the 7 hours only took back 3 people. When I finally screamed they decided to do their jobs. Which took another 5 hours. During this time watched a woman who was bleeding from her hand sit for over 5 hours and over 6 other people just left waiting to be seen. The nurses were rude and all they could say was other people are sicker. Than when everyone started to complain said they were short staffed overnights but forgot 90 percent of the patients waiting had been there since before 7. If you are severely injured or need serious medical treatment dont I repeat do not go there because you will die before you are seen.
I had a first rate experience at Kenmore Mercy. Professional staff and an impeccably clean hospital.
I've broke my arm n hadda wait two hours till someone seen me also on 1-7-22 they made me wait 5 hours plus for ct scan when I was sent over doctors like to stand around and talk /use phones they r the worst hospital for emergencys you might as well go to ecmc
Thought it wasn't true until I checked in. KMH 3rd floor update 6pm, be right back, won't see her until tomorrow
Terrible. Waited for more than 4 hours in the ER for a possible broken wrist with excruciating pain and they didn't care
I checked in at 12:30 with severe abdominal pain and was not seen until almost 4 PM. We called a supervisor and was told that the were a lot of ambulances that day (totally understandable) but that hadn't explained why I'd watched the waiting room clear out twice while waiting. Then they confirmed my suspicions about why I hadn't been seen by saying, "Well, there ARE a lot of older people being seen...." It has not escaped my notice that I was the youngest person in that waiting room and yet older folks coming in after me were prioritized first. I'm not saying some of them shouldn't have been prioritized, but the blatant ageism in this hospital is unacceptable. Just because a younger person is... well... younger does not undermine their pain or illness. Not to mention the receptionist at the desk completely lacked compassion and absolutely did not care about the patients in the waiting room and probably shouldn't be employed in a place where compassion is something that is necessary...like a hospital. I manage in the customer service industry and if any of my associates behaved the way she did, I'd have them written up. I will say that when I was seen, the nurse was PHENOMENAL as was the ultrasound tech. I'd have given five stars if I didn't have to wait so long, especially based upon such obvious discrimination.
Waited at least 2 hours the first time and 4 hours the second time and in the same week they Misdiagnosed me 2x telling me I had a pinched nerve and I finally went to degraff for a second opinion where they then rushed me to Buffalo general hospital and I was officially diagnosed with multiple sclerosis… find any other hospital than this one to go to believe me even if it’s further from you it’s worth the drive! not go to kenmore mercy !!!
When to the ER on 10-2-19 with chest pain and waited hrs to get anti inflammatorys and a chest xray, What a waste of time ! No help what so ever , very disappointed. I would never go back there!!!
The nurse I had was rude and ignorant.
My last visit was a sprin ankle
Excellent experience in the ER, excellent hospital all around! PA Dan Vennero was awesome. You know you’ll be taken care of when you come here!
If you truly are having an emergency please do not visit Kenmore Mercy. Their front desk clerks are slow and ignorant. My father waited 4 hours to never even be seen with pain of 10, he left and went to Sister's and was seen, got his tests and scans right away and found out he needed immediate surgery and their surgeon came in with his team got it done that night. Any longer and it could have been fatal. I have also had my own experiences here and this hospital needs to reevaluate their administration because they lack the integrity of knowing when someone needs immediate attention.
Terrible. Husband in acute severe pain after recent surgery. No compassion. Didnt address pain for hours. Blood pressure high from severe pain. Never will come here again!
Kudos to Kenmore Mercy Hospital and all of its staff. What an amazing group of wonderful professional people. I can't give high enough praise to each and every person I have encountered not only yesterday or these past couple of weeks but in previous visits too. By far the best local hospital hands down! A special thank you to (I wish I had all of your names) the ER security guard and ER Check in Desk girl. ER staff, Vanessa-RN, Amanda-Patient Access Specialist, Greg-RN, all the CT and MRI Tech girls who were so kind, caring and gentle and a very special, HUGE thank you to PA-John Bialik. Thank you John for taking the time to listen and understand how much pain I was in. For explaining everything to me, for calming my fears and my tears, for constantly checking in on me all day, for believing me and not just brushing me off and sending me out the door (as I had experienced at a different facility), for working through the necessary steps, tests etc. to determine what was wrong. Forever greatfull... Kenmore Mercy Hospital always above and beyond in their dedication, professionalism, and caring.
Would not recommend my worst enemy to this facility, was on my knees in pain & all they cared about was paperwork, nurse @ emergency desk showed no signs of compassion, said I threw paperwork @ her & wanted security to escort me out, security guard had more compassion then the nurse, waited approximately 20 minutes & decided to leave, went else where & got red carpet service. Kenmore mercy lol, Kenmore joke is more like it.
My mother had to be transferred here after having a heart attack at home. Not only was everyone fantastic her medical team went above and beyond for my mom. to make sure she was well taken care for. Five stars. Hands down.
Always have the worst experience. The nurse are rude. Asked question the normal questions when you first walk in. Was there for an hour an half sitting in a room without one word being said to me in pain nurses in lobby laughing.
I'm extremely unhappy with my last visit. I had blood drawn for bloodwork. When I inquired about my bloodwork, I was told the doctor didn't order any bloodwork. I asked if they could do the bloodwork and I was told my blood was already thrown out. I will never go back to this hospital again.
Went to the ER with a concussion, broken finger, injured arm, and fractured tail bone. They made me stand there for an 1 hr and15 min and never addressed me except to take down my name. ( place was NOT busy all ) !! I finally enquired how long it would take to be seen. She said they didn't have anyone in the ER working. She said everyone was "Late" for work... WHAT ???? So, I'm standing there, leaning on a pole because I am in pain, can't sit, and have a concussion, and a woman comes to me and asks me to sit. I tell her I can't because I injured my tailbone ( Fracture ) she tells me I can't stand there because I could "possibly" see a computer that was 20 feet away. I told her I have a concussion, and can't even see in front of me. She was down right rude and told me to move. I wound up walking out by the front doors since I didn't park by the ER, but stopped and talked to the receptionist and told her what happened and asked where the next closest hospital was. She asked me "They still haven't seen you " ( she remembered when I walked in because she asked if I needed a wheel chair ). I told her that I had not been seen and I told her everything that happened. She got on the phone and called a nursing supervisor. Within 2 minutes, they miraculously had a bed, and staff working !! I will note, the nurses and Dr.'s were very nice, and so were the X ray techs.
Went in the emergency room was their for almost 2 hours with my wife, she fell and her ankle was swollen very bad. she complained that it hurts really bad and they just took their time. Absolutely ridiculous
As I read some of these poor reviews, I am wondering if they are talking about the same hospital. I have had nothing but positive experiences with Kenmore Mercy. Unfortunately I have had a lot of health issues in the past 3 months and had to go to the ER on 5 separate occasions! EVERY single time I was treated with kindness and concern and much respect. No one ever made me feel like my symptoms weren't important or dismissed me in any way. I was starting to feel a little embarrassed by having to return with a different issue each time. The Doctors and Nurses listened to my symptoms and concerns and treated me accordingly. The necessary tests were ordered and executed in a very timely manner each time. Everyone was friendly and compassionate, from the front desk workers and registration staff to the techs and really just everyone. Many of them told me that they hope that I feel better soon. That alone can make an uncomfortable situation more comfortable. Because the testing was so thorough each time, they were able to diagnose my conditions and recommend the best course of treatment . Everything was explained in detail and they recommended good specialists answer surgeons to follow up with. People complain about the long wait times. Comon! So you have to wait a few hours, but you are leaving with a good idea of what is wrong and you have all the needed testing that would have taken weeks to get if you had to get them on your own. Half the reason the ER's are so crowded is because it takes weeks to get a Doctors appointment half the time and when you are really ill you just can't wait that long. Be thanhkul that we have a hospital that will address our illnesses no matter how big or small, and do it with a smile and a kind word. Many of the staff members remarked on how much they enjoy working there and that was refreshing . I for one couldn't be happier or more appreciative with my experiences with Kenmore Mercy.
My boyfriend went to immediate care thinking he was having an allergic reaction. They saw him and said he was ah I g a stroke his face was drooping. They asked what hospital and we said kenmore mercy they called and talked to Dr Russell we were told to tell the front desk that he was waiting for us, told the front desk they pushed paper work on me and said we don’t work that way (exact words) a few minutes later a went back to the front desk again said dr is waiting my boyfriend might be having a stroke again we don’t work that way go sit until nurse calls you, after more time the nurse called us up again I stated what was going on and was told the same thing it don’t work like that, she excused herself since her phone rang and we heard her say My boyfriends name hung up walked away and got a wheel chair a wheeled him back were the wonderful Dr and nurses were waiting for us, they even stated they stopped all cat scans waiting for your arrival dr examined him and told him they were sending to Kay scan there was a little mix up and he had to wait 45 minutes until we asked when he was going they were so surprised he hadn’t gone. I truely believe this had nothing to do with the medical staff, if your front desk would of listened to us and called dr Russell this would have not gone so bad, he did have a TIA and this could have been much worse. We are new to this area now nervous about going back there.
the staff there was very helpful for my surgery the only thing negative that I can say is that the medication i was given really didn't help for the pain and they didn't want to give me anything to help but gave random patients who came in and out of my room while I was there for 5 days whatever they wanted and sent then home. The food there as patient for 5 days was way better than anyother hospital food that I've be to
If I could give them no star I would. What a terrible insensitive people. I went there on Saturday cos I fractured my elbow. I had to wait for hours before the doctor finally came to check on me and give me something for the pain. Did X-rays and after a long day they just sent me home and wanted me to follow up with an orthopedic. When they let me go, they never give me any of the X-rays pictures. And when I showed up at the orthopedic, they couldn’t pull those info from the hospital. I called to see if they can send them over, they person on the phone was so rude to the point where she hung up the phone on me, she blaming be for not asking for the X-ray imagines when I was there. I can’t believe such a treatment. After I paid money to get X-rays I had to get them done again. Waisted my time and money for nothing. Kinda sad to think that a health facility would treat people like that. So bad
Checked in at about 6:15 tonight. Its pretty much the wait we expected. Still in the lobby, after two hours. Surely this visit will take the customary 5-10 hours. Whatever, we are at your "mercy". But perhaps due to the fact that my son may still be slipping in and out of consciousness, they could have found, some place for him to rest. Instead, we are still here being FORCED to watch Family Guy for the second hour, with all of its crude content and filthy language, ( a little strange for a Catholic hospital). Anyway, thank you Kenmore Mercy for making my son comfortable and ignoring our reasonable requests. We feel like you really care....not.
AN ABSOLUTE JOKE! All of this money in health care and a fast food place can manage a staff better! I advise everyone to pick any hospital other than this one! If only I can rate less than 1 star.
Nice hospital. Good new Emergency building much better than their old smaller ER wing. BTW in 2014 it became an established, scientific fact (In Discover Magazine Sep. 2014) that water is older than the Sun just like in Genesis Chapter One.
worst experience ever
I’m only giving one star so I could write my experience but if I could, I would have done negative stars. I am pregnant and I went to the ER scared because I had some cramps and mild spotting. The ER doctor told me I was having a spontaneous abortion and that I was going to miscarry. He told me I needed to see my OB immediately. He made an appointment for me to see my OB the next day. I spent the entire night crying and worried that at any moment I was going to have a miscarriage. When I saw my OB the next day he told me I had NO signs of spontaneous abortion. NO signs of miscarriage. He said the cramps and bleeding were normal and any pelvic exam would have shown that. My doctor told me he was told I had 4 previous miscarriages by the ER doctor. I am 26 years old and I have had only 1 prior pregnancy that did NOT end in miscarriage. He lied about my medical history which is dangerous and absolutely unacceptable. I was so stressed about a fake miscarriage it could have led me to have a real one. If the doctor was not trained in obstetrics he could have just said he was not sure and sent me to my OB. Instead, he made me call out of work and panic all night that I was going to lose my baby. I’m sickened at the care I received. My own doctor told me to never go back to Kenmore mercy and I never will.
Husband had surgery on 9/9/21 they tell you that they will keep you posted during the surgery on your loved one but they don't and if you have a late surgery they lock up the surgery entrance and will only let you out not in then the guard tells everyone if the phone rings answer it ,it's probably the doctor letting you know about your loved one. I didn't know I was a receptionist it doesn't pay well! Then of course the phone only rings once for someone else of course. And the receptionist that checks you in starts yelling as soon as we walk in that only 2 people per paitent which we knew but took turns. No one told us we even had to stay the night! But sure enough he has to stay. Then just told us we would make arrangements that I would be able to come first thing in the morning and help him get dressed but they wouldn't let me up of course the next day nothing had been arranged. Never checked his diabetes the entire night or day not a very good hospital doctor was good though
The doctor I saw read my notes and actually helped me and told me I'm doing everything right for my back injury. Had seen regular doc twice within a month and I was still swollen and unable to walk. Thank you for the great service, kind treatment and reassurance It was much needed.
Bad people that work for
Great work fast staff nuff said.
Times are estimates but the length of time certainly isn't exaggerated. Came in to the ER at 11pm... understand its busy and got a room roughly 130am I would say. Was seen right away, only reason I give it 2 stars is because the doctor actually listened and I felt he cared after I told him my Dr. advised me to come in. Blood work, the works. No major cat scans,MRI. It's well past 5am and I am still sitting here waiting for results. I've heard other patients going up to the nurses station for the past few hours complaining it's been hours since they were seen and they want to go home. So displeased with the lack of urgency to get taken care of or updated. Being busy is hard and I feel I have given it the appropriate and very long multiple hour waiting period for bloodwork and/or other patients/extreme cases, maybe not. I don't know, but come on!! This is absurd! Nurse was attentive when I did have to use my call light. It's 6am and I have finally been discharged, I dont know it this is normal practice or not... but I don't think a non-traumatic ER trip should be from 11pm to 6am. ***Also, where is our HIPPA and OSHA when you're being questioned as to why youre not feeling well, in front of all the patients in the main lobby!! Where people come in to check in! How embarrassing! I've heard everyones illness and complications while I waited!! This is not a good practice! Fix this!*** I would like to once again mention that the doctor I was seen by was by far phenomenal! Caring, attentive, genuinely helpful and concerned.
ridridiculous ..I admit ER at 1230am n thn I discharge ard 530am in morning because only one doctor in ER n I keep waiting n wanted to b discharge but couldnt find a doctor n when the doctor available he chit chat with nurse until I went in to ask for discharge n its wasting my time n midnight until morning only I can go home .. i dont known why people working slow n never thought of patient situation tht i couldn't sleep whole night n tired until my symptoms weird off I dint known what's the point come to ER
4/10/2019-Current patient. No clean beds sheets for two days. Call light response times terrible. RN can't even put simple IV'S in veins. Had four different nurses in 8 eight hours. Been waiting hour to get medication and antibiotics through IV still waiting. 4/11/19-Last day here. Day time nurse no issue, nurse at night not impressed with at. Suppose have medicine at 9pm almost 10pm didnt even come room till 9pm started at 7pm. Has not even viewed my chart at all put call light on just came in with another excuse. Need clean gauze to change wound still waiting.
Everyone were nice, concerned anx professional in every way possible, Dr. Vigna & Dr. Mitchell and staff were outstanding. Thxs
Rude, inconsiderate people. Even the "nice" ones did the bare minimum. I went because I was having difficulty breathing but had to walk everywhere no one offered me a wheelchair. The nurse was condescending. In the future I will be going to Buffalo General even if it is farther from my house; great service, pleasant people, they offer you warm blankets and a pillow.
All they do is rush to get you out and dont even address the reason your there and never even spoke to a doctor the entire time. Will not go back there.
I was admitted through the ER on August 3, 2019. Although the ER wait time was 4 hours I will say once in the cubicle in the ER everyone was beyond excellent. The Doctor's, Nurses, Lab workers, etc. were prompt, courteous, compassionate and helpful. It turned out I had two herniated disc's and pinched nerves making it impossible to bear any weight on my left side. I was admitted to 2East. The nurses, especially Jennifer on days and Sarah on nights as well as all the staff were EXCELLENT. Medications dispensed on time, responded quickly to call buttons and each showed empathy and concern. I had surgery on August 20th and admitted this time to 2West. Again, the level of compassion and care was beyond excellent. Suzanne, my day time nurse always went the extra mile as did all the staff. The Ambulatory Surgery staff was phenomenal as was the OR staff and the staff in the recovery room. The "At Your Service" staff was excellent as well and so was the food. Before discharge I was served lunch and the lady who delivered lunch as if I was being discharged and could she give me a special surprise? She sang, and did an excellent job, I'm so glad we had this time together" from the carol Burnett Show. Everyone and I mean everyone I encountered was excellent. I'd give Kenmore Mercy Hospital 100 stars if I could. I hope in some way, these staff members are acknowledged. No one wants to be in the hospital or have surgery. I was nervous but felt so comfortable with everyone that my apprehension was soon erased. Kenmore Mercy Hospital is the ONLY hospital I will go to if given the choice. Kevin Mason (Don't know who Steve Mancini is, but his name popped up!)
The er staff is undereducated and lack empathy. Went in for severe chest pain (the second time in three weeks) and was treated like I was a drug addict. I've never taken or been prescribed pain medication and this is how you treat someone riving in pain and all they did was ask me the same questions 15 times, laugh because I'm crying and say I'm a good pretender. I've never been treated so inhumanely in my life, after hearing that I took the iv out my hand and left. You'll be hearing from my lawyer. Don't come here unless you have no choice.
Here i am inside er room after 3 hours of waiting in lobby, checked in at 6pm waited 3 hours to be seen Doctor came in for 5 minute at 9,now waiting again for paperwork and discharge almost 10 o'clock now.i been here before and it wasn't like this,it was in and out system now if you are bored got nothing to do come to Kenmore mercy!!!!
Hospital sucks ..
Unresponsive staff. Ridiculous wait time. If I could give less than 1 star, I would.
Excellent Hospital. Staff from front reception desk, security, and surgery staff were so pleasant, smiling, willing to go extra mile to get me from point A to point B. Even wished me well ony way out! COVID protocols were very well set up and executed. This was my second surgery here. (Previous was several years ago). I will come back here for any surgery, procedure, testing.

The nurses on the third floor do not take there job's seriously, i have witness it myself and i have multiple edvince stating how they treat there patients and how they barely change and clean up after them. Always talking down on the one's who have a mental disease, especially this one patient name Mike they only changed him/ cleaned him up once from 3pm to 11pm on wedensday May 8th 2019.
I had an appointment to see my Pulmonary doctor on 7/20/ 2020. His office is on the 4th floor of the hospital. I suffer with COPD and when I entered the main lobby, the staff on duty could see I was in distress. Without hesitation, a nurse from the Pulmonary rehab. center got me a wheel chair and personally took me up to my doctors office. She also made sure that when I was ready to come back down, someone would bring me back down in the wheel chair. Turns out it was a security officer that brought me back down. Not only did he bring me to the main lobby, he wheeled me to my car in the parking lot. There is so much love and caring at this hospital. Wish I could do something for what they did for me. It is greatly appreciated. Thank you to all the staff at Kenmore Mercy Hospital.
First I waited 5 hours in the waiting room. After being brought back to the room, I saw a doctor, did blood work then was sent home. Never saw the doctor again. My blood work results were not given to me, and two days later I m still sick. The nurses at the front desk were also rude.
Very concerned staff and they don't have a long wait in the ER.
I have had 3 surgeries at Kenmore Mercy in the last 5 years. I can not put into words how amazing each and every experience has been there. From pre-op testing, covid testing, surgery staff and inpatient staff they are all equally friendly and attentive. Most recent surgery was yesterday and even my husband commented multiple times at how efficient and nice everyone was. Thank you Kenmore Mercy for being such a wonderful place! Surgery is always scary, especially when it involves your spine but you always manage to make the whole experience wonderful!!
My husband's doctor and nurse are great. Very uncomfortable chairs in the surgery waiting area and patient room. Don't waste your money in the cafeteria the food sucks! Machine screamed for a half hour and no one cares. No lockers must carry everything around while patient is in surgery.
Absolutely awful! I arrived around 11am and was quickly brought brought into a room where my information was taken. I was (and currently still) having pain from my back to my left side and ribs. I was given an IV with fluids, because of course they want to keep you busy for many hours while they do absolutely nothing for you. I was finally given a CT scan after 3 hours, the Dr finally came back in and said it wasn't kidney stones, that it was probably constipation (which it definitely isn't)and that he was going to order robaxin. An hour later I still laid there with nobody ever coming back with this robaxin (which I did not need because it was NOT muscle related pain) and no relief from the pain. I told the nurse to unhook my IV because I would rather suffer in pain at home than in this hospital where nobody seems to care. I left this hospital after hours with no answers and no relief. A hospital with the name "Mercy" should be ashamed for having patients leave in pain, tears and no answers. What a complete nightmare. This is exactly why people such as myself dread going to the hospital. Stay far away from this place.
It's the worst hospital especially the emergency room .the waiting time is so long even you have a sever pain.the nurse on reseptior so rude .
If you're going in there or even a mild headache or a possibility of pneumonia since it's one of the 12 symptoms of potential covid they assume you have covid and their protocol is a minimum of a 9 hour wait. And I am not joking! My husband was there for 11.5 hours yesterday and all they did was take blood work, chest x-rays and an EKG and still didn't have time to give him the results before he walked out. All he wanted was an asthma inhaler to open his airways. Something that his GP, Kenyon-Savard should have been able to give him but she was too lazy to do.
