Don't go to this hospital. Wife and I have been waiting over 8 hrs just for blood work results.

Mona H

Dont waste your time. We went to get tested on a monday, in the drive through. Got there at 8am left at 11am, 5 days later and still no results. All my other friends went to places like mount siani got theirs back in 24hrs!

sherri stillo

This place gets a bump wrap but the brilliant emergency doctor found my 17 year Olds blood clot in his lung. He could have dismissed the blood work as a false positive. Great nurses.

Went for a day surgery for 1215pm didn't get in until 2pm, sat in very uncomfortable chairs from 10am till I got the surgery. No one informed us that it was going to be delayed or why it was delayed. It was quite frustrating. I understand things happen, but people need to be updated and informed.

The worse hospital ever , made me feel guilty from the start about not going to my original hospital. Not welcomed at all. These are Ontario hospitals not private so what is the deal. Will not recommended or return ever.

Viveka Ramesh

I am beyond disappointed in the service that was provided here. I came here with my aunt and cousin, my aunt found a bed bug in one of the beds, and the hospital claimed that we brought it in. Then my aunt and cousin were isolated for hours, might I also add my little cousin was in severe pain and was isolated due to the hospitals bedbugs. The fact that the hospital put the blame directly on my aunt and cousin saying that they brought in the bed bug was just disgusting. Own up for your own mistakes, don't shift it on the patients. Never again will I be going to this hospital, better off anywhere else!

The staff were all very kind and friendly. Very helpful. The conditions they have to work in are deplorable. Extremely unclean. Working in such conditions will make anyone cranky. Everything is sticky with garbage, blood and body fluids on the floors. And quite possibly the walls. It seems incredulous to me that the Board of Directors would allow anyone to work in conditions such as this. How the Ministry of Health allows this hospital to operate is beyond me. Osler you should be ashamed of yourself. I am embarrassed for those who work hard to care for, and heal, our sick and injured. I spent 12 hours wandering around the hospital while my husband was in ER. The staff were all helpful, approachable, friendly and focused. Thank you! But I am saddened to say, if you do have to go to this hospital , do not sit on anything. Do not touch anything. Please wear gloves.

I had, although the new changes of upgrading the Hospital lately, another Excellent experience with all of you Doctors, Nurses and working people! You have and show empathy to each and any the cases that will bring us there for help! I want to thank all the Departments specially the Booking Department for their kindness and lovely way to deal with us! Thanks for being with us all through the situations in this unique way that makes me to come all feel taking care! Angela Maria Rotilio

Amazing people....I had my surgery time at 8 55 am and they called me at 6 45 am for pre registration. The surgery took place at the exact time. The best part was the behaviour of the doctor, the anaesthetist and the nurses was above and beyond. I was so worried, but they tried their best to keep me relaxed even though they were so busy and the nurses were so polite and sweet. Amazing people!!! I even thought of tipping the nurses but then I felt maybe they won't like taking a tip so didn't ask☹️

I have my appointment today for surgery but Dr he don’t like to do surgery he just tells me call his assistance for books another appointment for surgery!! I have been put my time and afford for week a hard for surgery appointment!!!!!!!!!!

Worst place to visit specially emergency case. Hated going there and regret it. Even walk-in clinics are better.

Nicolette

The team of nurses and doctors (with the exception of very few) are incredibly rude and do not seem to care. I was there a few days ago for an infection and received a prescription for antibiotics under the WRONG patients name. This was given to me by a, “specialist” & trying to get the correct prescription has been more difficult than finding a cure for covid.

Ryan Hurdman

Was advised to got to emergency because I had a fever and low blood pressure. I was there for 7 1/2 hours. By the time I got my results and prescription, pharmacies were closed. They sent me home and woke up the next morning with a temperature of 104. They even put the wrong patient information on my prescription. It was someone else’s information. Go to another hospital!

Worst services ????????????. Today (May 22,2021)I went with my husband. There was no doctor in the emergency hospital for one hour. Later we got to know she was on break. They were short staff, just 1 doctor. She was extremely rude to patients. They called my husband, got his tests done including X-rays and blood samples, and then he waited there for results for 3 hours. When he asked how much time will it take and when will the doctor be back, they said they cannot say anything. In frustration he left the hospital without reports, as he was sick and was hungry, to which they said, ‘if you wanna leave you can leave, you just waited for 3 hours, you could have waited more.’ We entered the hospital at around 10:30 pm, and left at 2:45am, with clearly no diagnosis, no reports. Really bad experience, will not recommend this emergency hospital at all.

Horrible service with long waiting hours!!!

Rod & Liz Merlo

Son had surgery there and the staff was absolutely fantastic. Everyone was very professional and friendly. We also had to use the ER and it was a great experience as well. I will make the 25 minute drive from now on although I live 5 minutes away from the Brampton hospital.

Kendra-Lynn Page

Balanced everyone in the waiting room. They took me so fast. Though I was there for many hours, I had a very good experience with everyone. It was my first time being there so I had no idea on where to go or do, everyone I asked was very helpful and supportive. Not often you get to laugh with your doctors (in my past experience). Besides walking to X-ray and different waiting rooms I didn’t have to lift a finger. The man that was attending to me booked my appointment for my cardiologist and made me feel good during my most dreaded part... blood work. Amazing experience. Great staff. Educated. Know how to comfort a patient while in pain.

Faith Adeniji

Old looking hospital but the staff are awesome. Took really good care of me

João Luís Soares

To me is more like a third world country hospital. Very poor, no coordination, no organization, after waiting for hrs in the emergency, you leave the emergency department to go exams and they make you wait hrs in front of Xray room in the corridor. Also in emergency you wait in the corridor. Plus the Doctor came and saw my Mom and insisted to send her home cause was nothing wrong with her, I insisted to keep her there cause her leg look bad. The next day another Doctor came and said she has the leg broken in 4 parts. Also is unreal and inadmissible wait for a bed for 2 days and 2 nights out in the corridor. JUST IN A THIRD WORLD COUNTRY. UNREAL

MY WIFE HAS A DELIVERY HERE,THE SERVICE WAS REALLY GOOD UNTIL DELIVERY BUT AFTER DELIVERY THEY SHIFT US IN A ROOM,THERE WAS SO MANY NURSES IN DIFFERENT SHIFTS,ALL WAS NICE BUT THERE WAS ONE NURSE NAME “KULJIT”SHE WAS REALLY REALLY RUDE,SHE HAS ONLY ONE WORK THAT SHE WAS ALWAYS ON PHONE & I TOLD HER 3-4 TIMES THAT MY WIFE NEEDS HELP,SHE NEVER DO A SINGLE JOB THERE,REALLY BAD ????????

First time at this hospital's emergency room and it will definitely be last. We left the hospital within few minutes of speaking to the first person that takes your information. He was a middle aged Filipino man who seemed like a person that hated his life and everyone around him. He first banged on the glass window abruptly to call us inside. The previous patient hadn't even left the room yet so I'm not sure why he was so upset that we weren't moving fast enough for him. My husband was involved in a car accident couple of days ago. He was complaining about pain on the left side of his ribcage. We decided to see a doctor since the pain has gotten worse. The registration nurse asked us "so why didn't you come when it first happened" and before we could even answer, he said "go wait in the waiting room". I just don't understand what kind of a hiring process do these hospitals have? You're working at a hospital. People are dealing with a lot of stress and pain as it is. Who wants to see your grumpy face when they come to the hospital for relief? I wouldn't even bring my dog here. Pure disappointment.

Minori Jun

People are leaving negative reviews for long wait times but that's what you expect if you come to the Osler Hospital with a toe infection. Maybe if you have a dismembered arm you'll see faster service! The doctors are pleasant and I've never had trouble with staff during the two times I've had to go.

Nameel George

Now they are good for the reproductive morning's serious and fast work and the evening is very bad and not serious.

Ian Sharp

Somewhat fast wait times considering. Doftoru and nurses there were quite nice. My biggies complaint is the a pharmacy is on the other building from emergency there's little to no good food available for familys and it is very gloom there. Not even a tv with the news could be found only were running on the tvs. And aksonfree wifi would be nice but that's the truth for any place. Also there system is different from every other hospital I've even seen. They sent me to hand my doctor my chsrt shouldn't a nurse take it to them instead of the patient with pneumonia

Daisy Fang

If the rating system had a negative choice, then I would choose it. On Mar 5, I arrived in the emergency room at 8:42 pm, and left at 2:19 am the next morning. While I entered the center, nobody was available to inform people like me where to go...while one person was available at the window with a sign "trilogy" was impatient. After a while, I was admitted to the first exam room, and the doctor measured my temperature, which was 36, and he said you could go inside to do the test, just to be safe and 100% sure you were virus-free. I then went inside, and that was the beginning of a nightmare. I was sitting in the waiting area, then a nurse called M. came to me and asked me to sit in a room. ( later, I knew this room was specifically designed for potential covid-19 patient...from CTV and CBC news...) I sit there for about an hour then went to the nurse station, asked M. why I had to wait so long. He was surprised and said the registration people would come soon. I went there two times, and nobody came. After a while, I saw my dad in front of the room and talked to a girl. I went up to the door and asked my dad what happened. The girl asked my name, and I said that was me. She raised her voice and blamed me for not replying to her for the past hour. I was like...what? My fault? I walked to the nurse - M. and requested him to tell the girl why I could not reply to her. M. looked at me then told me to go with her. I insisted that he should explain to the girl, who was the registration staff, why I could not reply to her in the past hour. He never said anything other than I should go with her. Meanwhile, the registration girl screamed at me repeatedly and extremely rude. Eventually, the manager S. S. came and asked me what happened. I was so mad and told him what's going on...then he didn't say anything but asked me if I wanted to get registered. He and I went out to the first exam room. I asked the doctor to tell S. that my temperature was measured here, then I was told to go inside and get tested. The manager S.S. said nothing and only asked if I wanted to get registered. He even said you could go, and your temperature was fine. Eventually, I got registered, then I brought back to the room again, and the nurses, claimed to be the head of nurse or some director, at the station shouted at me all the time. After many people came to me and asked me what happened and did nothing, one nurse finally wanted to do the blood work for me. The nurse was called S. M.... She said she could not perform her work while I sit in the chair, she asked me to lay on the bed. I didn't know why and didn't understand, but she could not do her work while I am in a chair, then I moved myself to the bed. While I was on the bed, I closed my eyes and thought the unpleasant experience would reach the end soon; and I could feel S. M.'s hands shook like crazy while she tried to get the blood from my arm. I didn't know why, but I was so tired and still closed my eyes. After a while, I opened my eyes because it was too long to do the blood work. Then the thing I saw was way beyond my wildest imagination. I saw S.M.'s right hand index finger on the needle, and that finger had no glove??????!!!!!! It took me a couple of seconds to realize that she wore gloves but cut the glove on her right hand index finger to perform blood work. I could not believe what I saw and asked her what she was doing. She said, please don't move...I was more than angry and screamed out...when people came to the room, S. M. already took off her gloves and hid them. I told everyone what happened, and nobody ever gave me any feedback...they just walked away...While the doctor came to the room and knew what happened, he said S. M. should not do that...if I had Covid-19, she had already infected, and the whole emergency room would be infected. I left the center on Mar 6, 2:19am. After that night, I start to lose faith in the Canadian public health system. It happened almost 5 months ago, I hope my experience was an extreme case and nobody would have to suffer like me...

Bo

Staff slow and rude. Brought my friend in because she was having an allergic reaction and her throat was closing up. There were nurses and doctors on break where we entered and did nothing to help. They only directed us to emergency and then hey made us wait in a line up despite her being nearly unable to breathe. The staff kept gossiping and stopping for little chit-chats instead of helping the people in the line up - no privacy or security. On the way through there hospital rooms with patients who were getting treated were wide open to public instead of being behind closed locked doors like they are supposed to be??? The staff doesn’t care. The only thing that was blocked off with a proper swipe card lock was the emerg desk. i could’ve went walking around into patients rooms if I so pleased. Half the areas that were open should have been behind doors with a staff pass key to unlock.

Fahad Khan

Extremely poor service, doctors nurses here are the worst in GTA. Please DON’T go here unless it’s absolute emergency !!!! AVOID Zero star from my family ????????‍♂️

Worse hospital you can ever go to, avoid at all costs! I was taken by ambulance to ER, after several hours in pain they sent me home and was told there was nothing wrong and left the hospital and went to Humber River hospital and was told I had a kidney infection and being a diabetic I was told I could have lost a kidney, I was admitted and a emergency procedure was done to drain the infection and a tube was inserted in my back and hospitalized for a week.

If I could give this hospital 0 start I would. I hate having to do this but after dealing with nurses from Trillium hospital I can tell the complete difference. The nurse/receptionist or anyone over the phone are completely rude & disrespectful who works at etobicoke hospital My father was sent to Trillium. I called everyday to inquire about him. The nurses were so NICE & POLITE. Each one, I've spoken too had such an amazing personality. They took the time to speak to me and reassure me what was going on with my father to the best of their ability. I asked each day to have a doctor call me so I can find out about my father and his progress while being in the hospital. Everyday the doctors went into the hospital they took the initiative to call and explain as to what test/treatment was done or needed. MY Father got transferred too Etobicoke Hospital as it is closer to home. The second day he was transferred I called the hospital. Nurse answered the phone and told me someone called already but she will have to wait to speak to a nurse and advise me not to call again and only allow one person to call ( I Had no idea it was my mother who called as I was the one doing everything). The nurse attitude was completely rude while saying this. I didn't bother to say anything as I know it's HARD on them already. Fast forward to day 3 of my father being at etobicoke hospital ( my mother called everyday asking for a doc to call her so, she can inquire about my father progress amnd what futher test needs to be done as he has been in the hospital for a second stroke. At this point I took the initiative to call back because it's total nonsense that no one is returning our call. I CALLED and a woman answered I asked for an extension which I thought was for the stroke unit ( Trillium had one so I assume the extension was for the stroke section of the hospital) . The woman who answered me was so HOSTILE. Very unfriendly, very rude, very obnoxious and very loud. I told her I wish not to speak to her and requested someone else ( several times). I was then transferred to a male nurse. He was the ONLY friendly person I encountered throughout all of this. His name is Jon Or Justin. However, when he was speaking to me in the beginning I was pn speaker while that woman was in the background STILL being rude and obnoxious. She kept going on and on. If these are the type of people taking care of the sick.... then I really sorry for the patients in the hospital. I swear. If these are the kind of people who acts like in person or over the phone then I feel sorry for seniors in old home when no one is around. Just sickening. I pray I am never taken to this hospital because I would hate to be around such disrespectful personalities especially when they are caring for the sick. I get it's a Pandemic and I know it's stressful for the healthcare unit. I feel for all of them but it just doesn't justify such behavior!!!! It's mind boggling to read these reviews about the nurses and people's experiences with them. That really comes to show how much this hospital sucks and the personality of these nurses. It's SAD that these are the type of people caring for the sick. Yikes. Seems like alot of people are complaining about the same experience from the nurses and nothing is being done. There's alot more 1☆ about nurses/staff. That comes to show the lack of initiative from upper management. Doug Ford & CP24 needs to see this.

Jeremy QB

Worst hospital by far. Staff is rude. Waited more than 3 hours for the doctor to actually come.

Shahid Khan

Overall emergency service was satisfactory but not the cleanest hospital...

Tom M

What an amazing job these people do. Nurses, Doctors, and other workers worked tirelessly to help roughly 30+ Humber College students last night. Thank you so much for your efforts!

Was here from 10:30pm to 8 am the next morning. Miserable experience. Rude nurses. Waiting room in the ER was revolting, we weren’t the only ones complaining. Trash everywhere, imagine all the germs. All my aunt needed was a cat scan. They also lost her file..... not satisfied, if only I could take my time back but God’s not that generous now is he :)

Aditya Muralidhar

Another facility which hires emergency mental health medical staff who do not listen to patients concerns and instead brutalizes them with physical injury instead of simple conversation for compliance, then prescribe medications with such bad cross interactions that it will lead to deleterious cognitive capacity, food's better than most though.

Tristyn Russelo

Not the prettiest hospital at the moment but they took really good care of my dad

V. Jocko

Quick triage, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful nurses and Dr.'s. Clean and organized

Ramesh Moorthy

I have changed the rating from 1 to 5 after my complete experience with william osler. Though my first impression was bad bcz of the front office agents rudeness, we are very happy with the medical services provided. We had our first baby delivered here. The new building and birthing unit infrastructure is so pleasant and beautiful with most facilities. Very nice staff and doctor in this unit. Really the nurses are the main reason for the normal delivery for my wife. Plz keep up the good work. Advice to management, please put the front office desk agents throught customer service skills training or remove them and make the exisitng machine based checkin system effective with one help agent. Though i prefer human interactions and consider people jobs sometimes the front office desk agents mood can spoil the whole patient experience bad and ruine the reputation of the better services provided. First impression is always the best impression. Thank you!

I had to wait for 9 hours for my whole visit to this hospital. 2hours was just to hear my results which were in but the doctors were no where to be found! Came in at 5pm and lefted at 2am. I understand the hospitals are busy but this was just ridiculous. Worse hospital experience by far!

Jason Johnson

I had to come to emergency while on a business trip. Everyone was amazing. Very helpful and kind. Don't let the aging facilities fool you. Awesome place with compassionate care.

Dana Jehad

I went to the emergency cause i had severe pain in my abdomen right side the nurses were good and the technician as well , dr mohammad bahasadri did my gallbladder surgery he is amazing.the only problem with this hospital is the rooms are shared we were 4 in the same room after the surgery so i was not comfortable at all .

Aurora L

We went here for a complaint of persistent abdominal pain and although we came early at 4:45 AM to 'beat the crowd,' it was still a total of 14 hrs. spent in Emergency. 14 hrs! This is not patient-centred care. It was a constant pattern of waiting 1/2 hr. for a scan, then 2 hrs. for the MD to comment a few words on it, then send for another scan and repeat. Near the end, we were so impatient and frustrated to see all other patients come and go throughout the day, we had to ask what's going on, to which an RN was surprised we were still there! Luckily he was kind enough to try to expedite things for us. I understand all Emergency departments are congested and the healthcare system is underfunded but at least try to find a way to streamline the process for patients. Really terrible planning with utter disregard for comfort and anxiety of patients. Please re-evaluate because this is ridiculous!

M G

Was at this hospital last year in ER for a heart Arrhythmia. Ended up spending 5 days here. Was dealt with in the ER within 4 hours of arriving which isn't bad for this hospital. Dr.Mohabir was a very good cardiologist. Only complaint I had was a grumpy Philipino nurse, wouldn't help me for my life. If you don't like your job feel free to sit on welfare or get a different job. Other than that, was very happy with the experience I had here.

ROXY'S LIFE

The time you have to wait in a place called the emergency room is so bad why called it emergency room if you have to wait like 5 hours or more before you get true to see what’s wrong with you but them to tell you they don’t see anything wrong everything look good

Chandru

The experience at the pediatric was good, they took care of the baby well, however the nurse at the emergency department spent 40 minutes trying to inject the IV for my 7 months old baby poking injection 5 different places in two hands still couldn't do it, he made the baby cry and suffer unnecessary for his inexperience, later he called experience nurse and he did it let then 60 seconds, I don't why let these nurses are allowed to handle babies.

PJ Band

This is the worst testing facility I have every experienced in my life. Don’t even bother getting tested here because you will either have already been cured from covid-19 or have died from Covid-19 before your test results return. I have called multiple times and always got a voicemail with no one calling me back. Worst hospital ever!

Troy S

Where to start. I know nurses aren't appreciated for all their work so everytime I went to see my mom I brought timbits for the staff, doesn't matter if you treat them with respect, they are rude af and ignorant. Staff may be educated in what they attempt to do but have 0 manners/common sense. The sarcastic remarks made by the staff are unjustifiable and it feels like they're trying to start a fight just for fun. I would NEVER want to be a patient of this cesspool, and I find it hard enough to go visit my mom. Thanks for the memories *eyeroll*

Gloria Izquierdo

Hospital smells, they have poor ventilation. If your not same race as the doctor, you will be the last to be seen. I have been here since 8:00am it's now 1:37pm, meaning I see who goes in and who is still waiting.

lisha M

Stay away from this place! Very understaffed. Disgusting conditions, an elder lady peed herself in the waiting room. No one cleaned it up. They just put a wet floor sign on it. Watched a man fall onto the floor crying of pain. And the staff did not care. This place is traumatic.

Hannah Koco

Very good services in ER and neurology Dept. All the nurses are so nice and doctors are dedicated, check on patients often. ER waiting time at this hospital is short comparing with other hospitals on Toronto.

Emilycent Omoregie

The wait time doesn't what it. They are always busy doing nothing. The lab is something else, doing what the doctor didn't send you to do and they will end up putting the blame on you. Good facility, poor service

Khang Le

Well organized most everything great staffs.. Dedicated doctors, nurses.. However waiting time minimum 3 to 5 hours for emergencies.. The emergency cases worked only when someone transports, refer by ambulance vehicle's paramedic workers.. They need extra dedicated doctors and nurses

Ava Thomas

I had such a wonderful positive experience with the labour and delivery staff at Etobicoke General Hospital. They were all very helpful, smiling all the time and warm. I would highly recommend this hospital.

c t

So I went to do a covid test today and the lady working today around 3pm - chinese lady with an accent was such a horrible person. She was extremely rude and stuck the swab into both noses for like 15 second really rough to the point its still hurting and bleeding. FUNNY she swab my husband for 5 seconds on one nose. Like honestly don't know what her issue was but people like her should not be working and torturing people. I was on the first room once u make the turn down the hallway. I think room number 32. Awful person.

I thought about writing a review, long and hard. To be completely honest, if it would allow me to rate this facility at zero, I would..unfortunately it forces me to at the very least, rate this medical facility as a 1star, which is completely undeserving for Etobicoke General Hospital. As mentioned, I would give them a zero rating for numerous reasons in our very short visit to this hospital. My son had a fever of 40 degrees (104). We had him registered, the nurse before triage quickly said she was going to take his temperature. This nurse took a thermometer, with the stainless steel pointy end, dipped It in a solution (I assume some sort of sanitizer) and SHOVED it in his mouth, poked him under his tongue so hard, it bled, he vomited instantly..probably from the sanitizer solution, it probably didn't taste GREAT! Then with the same thermometer, stuck it under his armpit! Are you kidding Me?. How many armpits has his thermometer seen this evening, and you put that same thermometer in my 4yr old son's mouth???. Where I come from, the hospital is diligent enough to ensure they have the disposable tops for that pointy goddamn thermometer! Completely unprofessional and unsanitary!!! This hospital needs to be investigated, if you are close enough to another hospital and are able to avoid going to this hospital, I urge you to do so. The two ambulatory men that were working that night, well one of them was disgustingly rude to me, telling me I had to put a mask on my son..because They were babysitting a 92 yr old women at the emerge entrance (wasting tax payers dollars TRUST ME) telling me I had to leave, otherwise. He was speaking outloud in front of the entire waiting..disclaimi "How could I put this 92yr old women at risk?". If this paramedic had half a brain (Cleary I do not think he has a brain, at all) he wouldn't keep a 92 yr old patient in emerge Triage, with room full of sick people! Please....Mr. paramedic, do not try and diagnose patients while babysitting at your job, you are not a Dr. nothing short of being a turd in my Books! We left! We did not get to see a Dr. We didn't even wait, after sticking a bare thermometer , with no disposal attachment into my 4yr Olds mouth without consent...(I completely thought she was going to take his temp under the arm (not in his mouth bare thermometer) (Etobicoke general, don't be so cheap, purchase the disposable tops as they are intended for these thermometers or hire someone to have them stalked before you get sued, AGAIN! How this hospital operates...Let's just say the malpractice was an immediate turn off.. I will be contacting the ministry of health, the director and CEO. Etobicoke has a note right on the window once you register "nothing is to be recorded in this hospital"..shaking my damn Head! " so much too hide, I'm sure! Out of the 4 staff members we encountered, everyone was rude and angry like attitude..it so unsettling for me, my 4yr old is terrified of hospitals now! How can someone be so cold and angry, when you see a small sick child and afraid! Disgusted! I'm shocked Canada has a hospital running under these conditions!

AndreA

Be prepare to wait a lot!!!! 1 doc for atc. One hour waiting for someone to put an iv While nurses were chatting One on the phone asking someone where she should go on vacation Is this a first world country hospital? I guess not From 6 30 to 7 30 till we saw a doctor. From 7 30 to 8 30 waiting for an iv . We left without the iv They saw we were leaving so they gave my son something for his nausea We are not going back there...maybe that was their goal?

Josée Gillette

Came here to get tested for COVID. Public health website gives the hospital's location for drive thru testing- not true if you are not a health care worker. If you are not working in health care you have to go off site. No clear signage. Have to ask security. This could be better organized. Just lined up and I've been told it is a 2 hour wait.

Anthony Ricci

Absolutely rude and slow staff. Everyone's so miserable, and I'm not even talking about the patients. Even they are much happier than the staff here. Last time I visit this place...

torontochap1

The two stars because at least one or two nurses do care! I invite you to walk through the common hallways "surge" treatment areas in the Emergency department and see the practically sorrowful half-dead patients and the very much alive but insane-minded others, you will be sharing your emergency days with, inspite of the millions of dollars spent on this new building addition, with not enough rooms to treat you humanely.

Ariana

I was waiting here for 8 hours with possible appendicitis and people who where coming in 1 hour ago where get called super quick. Also i was not allowed to eat so i was sitting there half starved as well. A whole group of people who where waiting 8 hours as well where waiting/starving and we sorta formed a annoyed at the staff squad. The guy in the x-ray office was pretty cool so that was good. And please hire more doctors...there was only one in ER for the whole afternoon.

Dakotah zhawanang

I guess you call this questionable treatment. I called for an ambulance because I was experiencing one of the worst panic attacks I've had to date. I mentioned I medicate with weed to help with anxiety so I can go to work and function at a somewhat normal level. After mentioning I'm staus native And I kept hearing "hes just an addict". Well there's the old discrimination come to show its face.

yeah, 1 star lol

Just really not a good hospital, not all but many of the staff are constantly talking about there lives instead of WORKING and helping people especially those in the emergency area. Emergency area should just be called 24 hour walk in because they don’t treat it as emergency it’s almost as they could care less that your there. Just all and all a sad hospital

Rogers C

The nurse staff were extremely loud. Saw 3 doctors or PA working, meanwhile the nursing station was flooded with 6 nurses doing nothing. Maybe come and take my vitals ? Maybe do the comprehensive history? Maybe do the pertinent physical exams? Was told after hours of waiting that they did not have time for my condition. Ended up just going on uptodate and self prescribed my self antibiotics. Got online expedited shipment of antibiotics in few hours. Useless and incompetent staff here.

Horrible Staff at Emergency 31Jul2021, around 2145-2200hrs I had to bring my daughter to emergency. - The nurses here are not even mentally fit to work as nurses. - the nurse at the emergency registration entered the age of my teenage daughter as 114years. - the nurse at triage had a terrible English accent problem. She needs english speaking classes. - majority of the nurses speak English with an accent that is difficult to comprehend. If u ask them to repeat what they have said, they get ill tempered toward you. - my daughter started feeling cold, when I asked a nurse for a blanket she said the it is the least priority for her to fetch a blanket. After a while she did bring a blanket. This hospital is just hiring cheap rude nurses from India, Sri Lanka, Ethopia....... I have given two stars just because the doctor was good and caring. But for the nurses working here, they deserve a just black stars. Shame on Canadian Health Care system

ATIFAH

This hospital NEEDS sanitary improvement especially those in the private rooms. Bathrooms are not cleaned, smells very bad for long periods of time. Garbage is not being taken out on time either. Patients are not being attended to on time even when emergency buttons is pressed. This would be one of my least preferred hospitals to come to. PLEASE IMPROVE!!

Los A

Great experience overall, everyone was extremely helpful and genuinely concerned about your well-being. Nurses and Dr. Hooda I believe was the name were very professional and accommodating. Also scheduled follow up appointments with specialists which was good. Hospital is a little dated, but service makes up for it.

Absolutely ridiculous I know hospitals is to saves ppls life and it’s always should be clean this place is a disaster garbage everywhere nurses are very rude Service are suck my grandma was there last night we’re having a really hard time to breathe when she got there she literally waited outside almost 35 minutes to get a room and she was really having a bad time to breath and her heart rate was very high even her blood pressure was really up and not getting any better so we finally got a room there and it’s was so filthy two sinks we’re completely out of order somebody was working on there to fix it left behind all kinds of dust garbage on the floor on the chair Second things they were having a patient before my grandma and they literally have all kinds of needle open needles all kinds of open medicine left on the table where you have your food to eat right on top I took a picture of everything And I also try to talk to the doctor and tell him about the filthy room and he goes to me we try and save a person life we don’t have time to clean up saving a persons life but you might end up killing them from all the germ that was left behind from the last patient The worst nightmare with hospital I experienced last night I could not believe what I saw and I was here to visit my grandma for Michigan and in Michigan you cannot even not touch any patient with out warring a glove I had to literally tell one of the nurses to put the gloves on before touched my grandma absolutely not recommend it and I’m going to put this review on everywhere on this hospital please please please I repeat please do not take your beloved one into this disaster hospital this is not a hospital this is a grave this is a nightmare

Mia Broca

Tried to inquire about a patient. The William Osler employee who answered was so rude and unhelpful and then the nurse who answered was equally rude. I get it, I'm not family, you can't tell me anything but ffs there's no need to be such a @#$&.

Vanessa Nursoo

Very slow service. We have been waiting for an hour only to learn that they forgot to direct my husband to the X-ray department. A patient fell from her wheelchair and no one moved a finger to help her. My husband being sick himself, had to lift her and helped her back to her wheelchair while the emergency service was coming at a leisurely pace. The waiting period is just a lack of organisation, though the test/X-ray and equipment are up to date.

Worst worst and worst hospital eveeeeeer!!!!! do not go there

I went for an MRI today November 2nd 2021 and I met with a young woman that was not exactly friendly not exactly trusting with a very cool bedside manner. I had had a different procedure yesterday she made me call that location to make sure that no metal was left in my bowel so I complied. I was told that nothing was left and hung up 10 minutes later she comes back and asked me what the word is? I advised I was told nothing was left behind we're free to proceed. Well apparently she didn't say I'm not telling the truth but she made me call the place again because she wanted to talk to them herself so she can figure out from them if indeed nothing was left in my abdomen from the previous procedure. I was already made to wait one hour and 20 minutes for the MRI and I'm getting this kind of attitude from the young girl did not make me feel very warm and fuzzy about William Osler. A good bedside manner would have done nicely unfortunately that girl needs to be trained or she needs to find a place where she doesn't need a bedside manner. Because of today I reduce my 4 stars to 3 stars. I have been in this hospital many times. And each time was given as much help and attention as possible depending on how crazy the day was. I had to go on September 10th to the new emergency room and yes they have some kinks to iron out but overall I was seen by the doctor within an hour in the old building it was longer, the nurse was lovely and helpful. The doctor was informative and caring. For my condition sadly the pain killers given didn't work, I was given a stronger prescription that did a tad better but then again I do have a stubborn system. I was given a referral and got a call back within 48hrs of my visit. So again they have some kinks to work on but the staff is lovely.

Atheya Bhagwandin

It's like they want you to die! The nurses are rude, Longest wait times in the world, POOR COMMUNICATION THROUGH STAFF, They rarely check on you, give you wrong doses of medication, do not give you Xrays /CT-Scans where there is potential for injury. DO NOT COME HERE!

Sonam Sharma

Worst hospital. Poor staff, non-experience nurses. Never plan your delivery in this hospital. Worst experience overall.

Gerald Deokie Jr

There was no wait to get in and my mother was screened, cared for and x-rayed in under 4 hours!

Susan Clarkson Trask

Took 2 year old autistic child for day surgery. Staff were amazing, well prepared to deal with the challenges and were patient and caring through the entire process. Bravo!

Marsha Chandra

A week ago A family member was tested positive for covid and was told to go home and isolate. He went back to the hospital on Thursday and was given poor treatment on top of that the doctor that tested him had MADE A FALSE STATEMENT and instead of being isolated at home the family member was supposed to be in the hospital. The patient was then put in a isolation room that had NO WASHROOM on top of thatthey were no nurses or doctors coming to check the patient. I understand that the staff is overwhelmed but come on at least treat people with dignity and respect

I've given a two star because the service in the hospital itself was satisfying; however i had the most traumatizing, painful and emotional experience ever with the EMS. I was experiencing some extremely bad and painful ovarian pain, so my boyfriend call the ambulance, 15 minutes after the ambulance still didn't show up, mind-you, the hospital is 3 minutes away from where i was. he then decided to call a taxi as we was waiting for the ambulance for so long and the pain was getting worst, however when the taxi arrived, i was unable to get up from of the ground or even sit because the pain went from 5-100 real quick, so we had to send the taxi back. furthermore, my boyfriend decided to call the ambulances again, then they arrived about 10 minutes after. As i was placed inside the ambulance, i asked the paramedic ''why you'll take so long to come, busy day? suddenly am assuming he took my question as an offenses, he then started be EXTREMELY DISRESPECTFUL. this was is exact words to me. Aren't you breathing? your not bleeding all i can see is you crying so is shows your in pain, theirs other people out there that is dying, so do you want us to leave them and attending to you first? if you want better, special or faster service why don't you write a letter to the government or speak to your counselor; cause WE DON'T GET ENOUGH FOUNDING FOR THIS. i was in extremly shock, hurt and speechless for a second, then i said to him it was just one simple question where all this is coming form. he told me i not supposed to ask that question, i call they get their asoon as they can and they did. i told him i asked because i was waiting for so long in extreme pain, i even call a taxi, and it get there before them but i couldn't go cause i couldn't stand or sit, he said THEN YOU SHOULD OF TAKEN THE TAXI, because as i told you before, we don't get enough founding for this. i felt so hurt, i regretted calling them, that acting immature paramedic is plain to see he doesn't like his job, so i said to him, he need to find another profession cause and attitude like that he doesn't fit that career. finally, i have asked to speak with his supervisor, they said shes coming soon and that soon never came. to that paramedic, your very heartless, immature, disrespectful and low minded find another career. you disgust me!

simer basra

Great staff, great hospital, hospital is very nice. I had my baby delivered here. It was memorable experience....god bless staff and hospital!!

Angela k

Wonderful experience here. The doctors and staff was amazing. The emergency is really fast which I loved. Compare to keele and Wilson site. I rate etobicoke a great big 5/5. The extra travel distance was very much worth my experience and fast care in the emergency. I will definitly come back again in time of need.

Brad Dickson

They have an attitude towards their patients as they are from a poorer area. Nurses chit chat instead of looking after patients. Doesn't matter what we say as we are hostage tovthis system. Patients have no right or recourse against it. No dignity given to the dying here. They push you out even if not cured. Ruin lives without punishment. Look at how many one star and still this hospital doesn't change. Patient care box has no phone number or paper to make suggestions.

chioma ononiwu

Worse emergency system, u spend hours waiting to be attended to despite having an emergency. Very slow staffs,

vivian cai

This is the best hospital I had ever been. My son had a day surgery here. From the registration to all the nurses, staffs, doctors, everyone are so friendly, experienced, patiences and a lot more!!!

Gurpreet Brar

My husband had a surgery here, due to covid we face some difficulties other then this they were nice.

Evgeny Soloho

Avoid this place if you can. Bad service and negative attitude. Lines, rudeness. You are not welcome here.

Amy Burrows

I drove my friend for a treatment in the Endoscopy department. Everything seemed fast and well-organized there. However the bathrooms near the front entrance of the hospital were a different story. Visually they looked clean, however I've smelled bathrooms in the subway on a 40 degree day that smelled less like urine than these did. Just shocked is all that a hospital of all places didn't have clean bathrooms.

Jinan Essa

I visited this hospital today to have some procedure done by Dr.Susan Greebloom and I was very impressed by the professionalism from the doctor and the staff's. Everyone was very friendly and helpful . The hospital very clean and organized. Many thanks to the Doctor , staffs and receptionists.

2020 Nov. - My relative was brought by Ambulance to Etobicoke General late at night. Once I heard the bad news I jumped on Google to read the reviews for this hospital. What I read here did not reassure me, in fact I got quite worried as it seemed like there were a lot of bad reviews. During Covid everything seemed extra difficult. There wasn't much we could do so I adopted a helpless wait and see approach. I can tell you our experience in the patient temporary beds in the emergency room was not pleasant. A female staffer expected us to come in and sit with our relative while we waited for a bed to open up upstairs. This was difficult to do during Covid and with no warning so we could juggle our schedules. Keep in mind this wasn't a life or death situation. Anyway, we did what we could and I guess they did the best they could. It wasn't pleasant dealing with that staffer but our relative still got very good care by the doctor and the cleaners and food delivery people. The Doctor was very abrupt in giving us bad news, but at least the patient was getting good medical care from what I could see. A bed opened upstairs and things improved a lot with the staff up there. I can say with gratitude that we got first class health care and the staff were very good to us. Yes, the staff were stressed out and very busy during Covid but we got excellent service. It was kind of like organized chaos. Nobody walks up to you and hands you a handbook on how to do anything, or how to call to make visits, and it's like most of the staff don't want to be the point person on anything but I just kept calling every day and bit by bit I patiently teased out all the information I needed. If I worked there, I would type out all the main questions FAQ on a sheet, make copies and I would be handing that sucker out to every fresh person arriving on the floor. Looking for a pen to write tel. numbers out on a scrap piece of paper close to midnight would not be my idea of fun at every shift. I was, I hope, gentle and patient in asking / gathering information. If I got nowhere with a staffer, I would just call back later and try again with someone else. I was very polite and expressed my sincere gratitude to them every time I spoke with someone. A special thank you to our Hero of the year, a hospital social worker named Mr. Jim Watters. He went above and beyond and he's the best as far as I'm concerned. Thank you for being so exceptionally smart and action oriented, a veritable man machine of getting it done. We are so very grateful to you. Also, special mention to Terri Newhook who was another very helpful worker who helped us so much. We are very grateful to her. Again, smart and efficient. What a wonderful, refreshing combination. It was a very bad and difficult time, especially during Covid, but I am 95% perfectly satisfied with the top-notch medical care my relative got at Etobicoke General Hospital. One thing, I was surprised they didn't take my temperature at the front door whenever I went there for a visit during Covid19. They did other steps like get my information and I answered questions and I had to take off my mask and take one of theirs. I got a sticker after to put on me. That's it for now. .

Deanna Kunz

As a Frontline worker, I implore you to go to a different Hospital!!! People walking around no masks, proper PPE guidelines not being followed for proper COVID-19 response...I got my Husband out of the Emergency asap!!! Not without troubles though, as the Staff are rude and Communication is terrible! They don’t know their left hand from their right half the time. As well, their Environmental Staff are lax as well....dried blood on side table, same garbage on floor for 2 days! Disgusting place...especially during Pandemic? Avoid this Emergency room if you can!!

Bushra Alam (Nanoslam)

Came to ER for my moms severe pain and the doctors here were super thorough with their diagnosis of the root cause! My mom has been having pain for years and no other doctor or hospital could pinpoint to where it originated from. She finally had surgery with Dr. Heisler and had great recovery within a week! Not sure why the reviews are bad, but overall my family’s experience from the first ER visit to surgery recovery has been great! Thank you everyone at Etobicoke General!

Samantha

I gave birth to my first child in January. He was premature and I had complications while pregnant. The L&D staff were awesome (which is why I even gave 2 stars). My OB was not on call for the delivery but the nurses and staff in L&D were confident in what they did and their bed side manner was very calming. The new area of the hospital is also very nice. However, an hour after giving birth, I was shifted to the post-partum unit. The nurses there do not care about your health or well-being. I was lucky that my husband was with me to help me with things. They came and checked on me when I came in and that was it. To get into the unit you need to have a nurse let you in - my husband was waiting over 20 minutes ringing the bell since no one would let him in. After my complications, I wanted to speak to a doctor to make sure I was okay - I gave birth in the morning and by the afternoon they wanted me out of the hospital and without speaking to a doctor or proving me any info. They gave me no information as a first time mother, on anything! My child was in the NICU and they wouldn't help with finding a wheelchair for me as I couldn't walk and go see him. We had to go down and around to go to the NICU. The post-partum unit is a joke - the nurses don't care and are rude. They contribute to your stress and depression by not being helpful and being flippant with their attitudes. I wouldn't have another child here and wouldn't recommend others.

Marva Gentles

My mom was and take good care of her until she passed away

Ksenia Shaw

I spent 6 hours on drive through waiting to be tested for COVID.

Pooja Singh-Nagassar

I was here on 12th Nov 2021 and I wanted to take this opportunity to thank the staff for being nothing but perfect. They are thorough, well behaved, respectful, sensitive and followed all Covid protocols. Thank you for be nothing but awesome and thank you for taking care of me. I hold all of you in high regards Security Nurses Doctors Technician, thank you.

AUTO CARRIER CORP

The worst hospital ever 7 hours waiting for a doctor. Very unprofessional people. Bad vwry bad

Zin Ahmad

So slow being waiting for more than 4 hours in pain... one doctor available in shift... Nurses are so rude in ER... The government is collecting our money and spending it on a casino instead of the working to improve our poor medical system.

Dauna Smith

It’s $3:00 per half hour maximum is $15 per day. Just went to the parking desk asking for a day pass bcoz I need to go and come back for my daughter. I was asked to fill out a form. Then the parking attendant is telling me there’s no one day pass. WTH

Ginger Spain

My experience there was not at all what I needed. My daughter was missing a lot of school and the school was on our ass about what was wrong with her because she claimed sick all the time. At the time we didn't have a doctor so I took her to the emergency so I could get some tests done like a blood test an x-ray just something for Christ sakes give me something to say that I was even here. Or I'm going to have truancy on my ass. He wouldn't even give her a blood test. Maybe she was anemic, he didn't do anything didn't even examine her and I sat there for 6 hours.

Ranjit Neupane

Getting Better with new building, clean and cosy.

Odette Catolico

The nurses are very rude ,unprofessional manners ,racist it seems that they dont want to work that night when we come for emergency..

Sybrena Kelly

Wait time is 3 hours so far. My son is in pain and waiting for the doctor who said to wait for the nurses to do some blood work. No nurses came as of yet. The only hospital that irritates me so much to go to.

Winlove Lovely

NO USE of this brand new space for this hospital because NO ROOMS for patient who just admitted. Long wait times is ridiculous.

Sherry Jensen

My experience from Registration to the Emergency was excellent. I don't understand the negative reviews. I notice people coming in are quite rude to the medical staff. If you treat people nicely, you will have a better experience. The entire medical staff work hard,

Arzyelle

I did one of my clinical placements here during my undergraduate studies and one of my family members also got admitted here before. I graduated now and I'm honestly glad I got accepted at another place to work at instead of here. The staff is not approachable to students. I feel that the majority of the staff despise their jobs and are afraid that students will have better career opportunities in the future so they treat us like nothing, like we don't deserve the education and experience we need in our field. Additionally, their treatment of patients are below the standards. I am not talking about medical treatment interventions but the way they implement client centred care is beyond horrendous. It's unbelievable how some of the patients' family members come to me, who was a student at the time, and say that they were grateful I spent some time to direct them to some resources about the diagnosis of their loved ones. I think that patients deserve to know where they can find support. Spend a minute to direct them to some pamphlets and let them know you are willing to find the right people to refer them to when you have time, such as the appropriate support groups or health care providers. I think it's common sense to provide INFORMED DECISION MAKING AND CARE to patients and their family members. Lastly, if you cannot address the needs of a patient who is ringing the call bell, at least ask her/him about what she/he needs and delegate to other staff if required and appropriate to do so. Otherwise, if it is not urgent, let them know you are currently doing your documentations/blood work/medications etc and will be with them as soon as you are available. I hope your QUALITY IMPROVEMENT TEAM can make a note of these points and your rude staff members can re-learn their competencies or take some time off to find happiness in your lives to be more positive at work. Thank you for coming to my TEDTalk. Kind regards.

Brandon Bell

Amazing staff in the maternity ward. Thank you for helping us bring our daughter into the world safely!

Lest

very slow for an emergency room took roughly 10 hours just to do 3 tests. i spent 9 hours waiting less than 5 minutes with a doctor and and the rest are the nurses doing what the doctor order. dont come if you are in an actual emergency situation.

J. Mavi

Never had delays or issues at this hospital, Parking is overly expensive and pinches every single time.

Syed Hashmi

Great people and great service???????????? I did COVID19 test appointment today for my wife and the staff were extremely helpful with professional smile ????... but I never have experience to go inside Hospital ( and don’t want too) Allah bless us all...

VS DHILLON

Worst service sited 30 hours and they have no doctor To see

Graziella C

Not organised at all. Didn't even ask Covid screening questions

Richard Ethier

Went for day surgery this week and had an amazing experience. Dr kapplin and Dr Chang were great and efficient. The staff were caring and well informed. The nurse who sat with me while I waking up from the anesthesia really helped with my anxiety. Very thankful for the team here.

Sandeep Goraya

I think they are expanding their operations as constructions going on the aide road now.

马志勇

Nice people and good service.

Iraj Sohail

Worst Hospital Ever!! My first hospital visit in Canada and really dissappointed with the staff and services!

Akash Soni

Very very slow in responding for test results. 7 days and still didn't got the result. Someone who willmight have got covid will be cured first before the results are out. Very bad service. Always directed to a automated help line which never calls back.

miss tasha mac

I tell anyone if anything happens to me don't bring me to this hospital, it's the worst hospital ever!!! My mother started dialysis there back in early August of 2020 she died in this hospital in Sept while she was on dialysis.she wasn't even there for a month she caught an infection in her blood, I don't know where they found these nurses to work in hospitals they clearly don't clean the machines properly.

Jason Deidun

This hospital is the worst to be in staff are rude and there no parking

None of Your business

So they have this brand new place and guess what?! The same miserable people work there! Went to emergency last night and I guess chatting about their work hours for a few minutes while I was standing right in front of them with two sick kids was more important than doing their job!!! How rude! I interupted them and then they all looked at me like I was the one being rude! They are so lazy and overpaid!

Ed Vii

horrible staffs they need to clean up the whole place from doctors to nurses pathetic place.

Damian Weusten

Parking pricing and enforcement frustrating and needs to be more intelligent. How can one know how long an emergency room visit will take? Add time to the meter? Nope its less expensive to buy a full day of parking than to get the additional hour. William Osler Board of Directors. Please fire Impark.

Zulfa Malik

The worst experience ever. This hospital is not getting better it's getting worst. I will not be returning there.

amandeep bhinder

I accompanied my cousin for her day surgery. The surgery was supposed to be at a different hospital about 11 kms away and we reached “Etobicoke General” in error. The registration staff ladies ran the search for the doctor’s name and that is when we realized our mistake. The ladies were rude and warned that my cousin might miss her surgery and we should b careful next time. The ladies could have been a bit compassionate. We should not be moral policed, its not like surgeries happen everyday. Understood we were at fault but a little politeness and assurance would have made the next 20 minutes drive for us less fearful.

Regi Mathew

Very unprofessional & rude staff at the registration counter , they should be trained or be fired .

Teisha Moseley

This is one of the worst hospitals that i have ever been to. They are unprofessional and the staff that i came in contact with could not help me with any inquiries. The medical doctor that i was seeing was a horrible practitioner. The only good help that they have are administration and security. Avoid this hospital at all costs, especially as a patient.

A P

I would give -5 stars if I could. If you can avoid it, please don’t go to this terrible place. Nurses do not care and have so much attitude. You can’t even find a doctor in whole building for 10 hours. Very bad experience..disappointed.

Marlene McArthur

Probably the worst patient care around.. it use to be very good but has gone down hill over the last few years. The staff aswell as some of the Drs are very condescending, have zero bedside manor even after several complaints to the patient care office..nothing changes. Call buttons are turned off without even checking on patient. Patient are left to sit in the faces for hours, hospital gown changed once in 10 days and the only time they bathed her (my sister) she has been in the hopsital several times over the last year and they still can not find the reason her hemaglobin drops to a dangerous level,, so they give her transfusions until the next the next time they admit her.. seriously no faith in this hospital anymore.

Cassandra Calamusa

The worst hospital I may have every experience they had one doctor in emergency moving from the covid side to the people not exposed with covid .. their nurses didn’t know how to put and IV in and they are extremely unprofessional and lazy .. good to know how are tax paying dollars are being spent to unqualified nurses and doctors …

Alp Tanatmis

Nurses are out of order. They forget about your pain meds! Forcing you to suffer and yell at them in misery. Embarrassment to the principles of health care

Vimal Patel

Very good staff and good service.

Sanju Dhakal

Everytime I'm scheduled with specialist, doc is late than an hour. Patient time is not important. Be careful

Anand Dave

Better if reduced wait time in emergency room. But once you served best service. No questions about it.

Hireme Only

I was surprised with the service they give. Doctor came after two hours, ask me whats wrong. Then he left and asked someone to do my xray. Man after xray no one told me that i am done. They said wait. And they wasted 4 hours. And other people were waiting outside for their turn and this happened in emergency department. I felt so bad that if any asthama patients come by they will kill that person for sure. How they can do that. Doctors and nurses made this a picnic spot. This space need proper management and micro management. Keep and eye on your staff. See what they r doing.

G V

Great experience with really experienced staff here ..however we were moved from Brampton civic hospital..which was busier and less welcoming place.

trxke01

I have to persuade people to donate to this organization for a school project, I hope I fail.

sergio e-tec

Best hospital in north Toronto..they do great work for outpatients.mental health recommendation

Tekeshia Allen

If you value your life i suggest you find another hospital. Today is Monday may 21 ive come here on severe stomach pain vomiting non stop diarrhea. Ive seen the doctor who jus look at me touched my stomach an said u need a ct scan. Ive have been told by this hospital i have bradycardia, the nusre is unfamiliar with these term while im telling her to check my heart rates she still contines to tell she know nothing about it. Ive nearly lost myself in this hospital from catching meningitis an the nurses dropping my food to bradycardia an then leaving the butterly needle in my arm to now having nurses who dont care to listen to thier patient's i recommend any other than this. Dated may 21 2018 a 7:22pm

Roseanne Bowers

I had surgery on my ankle here and I was treated well. The food was good. The hospital beds on the other hand were not the greatest for sleeping the mattress and pillows are plastic and they make you sweat. But I did like the fact that you could control whether you wanted to be laying down or sitting up.

Nene XO

The worst emergency hospital ever. I came in for a non emergency to do an ultrasound, but had to go to emergency to get the results. The staff in the non emergency area were so kind opened the doors for me to get me in. But while I was in a part of emergency I went to the desk to ask admin if this is where I need to be I stood there for 5 minutes right infront of them. I was literally ignored other employees seen me and didn't ask if I needed help. I said excuse me hello five times until she finally acknowledged me, and told me I have to go in another area. I went to where I thought I needed to be. Went up to the registration window showed her a slip the ultrasound technician gave me, and she just told me to sit down... I sat there for 40 minutes until another employees asked me my name and said sorry you have to go in the front entrance of emergency and register there. -__- so I went to the front to be ignored again standing infront of the nurse until she told me to wait in the line by the entrance. It is soo impossible to get a good job in hospital and these people with no social skills, no customer service skills, and no empathy. Work at these places, it's such a shame. I could imagine how overwhelming it can be working in the emergency area for these hospitals, but if they don't like their job then don't do it. Cause there's alot of people who would die have their positions and be able to work 10x better.

Hibah Younus

My dad had shortness of breath and he had to go to the hospital there are many good doctors but there was one incident where my dad got a needle and they couldn't find the nerveand they started swirling the needle inside of his arms.

Anna Michaels

Based on recent visits to the ER for a sick family member; I have nothing but the utmost positive and wonderful things to say about the Nurses and staff at this hospital. They are truly outstanding Hero’s. They were nothing short of pleasant, helpful and compassionate. They were attentive and genuinely care for your well being. I could not be more grateful. I would never visit another ER and highly recommend this hospital. Thank you for your outstanding work & dedication!!!

Dana Abu samra

It’s bad service, and no one talks frankly ? Iam so upset and ungry couse they are lair, do u know I was there in 6 December st 5 pm and now still waiting the doctor next day ? He doesn’t caming to see my X Ray soo I hate this medical in canada????? ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Carol Lau

Went to emergency triage but husband's stomach pains became worse during the wait so I flagged down a triage nurse but she was so rude. She was the Philipina woman in glasses around 11am on Sunday, Jul 29/18, she looked annoyed when I tried to get her attention while she was sipping her coffee, then waved me off when I tried to get her attention again. Then told us to call 911 next time if it's so severe, we were ALREADY AT THE HOSPITAL - SHE WANTED US TO CALL 911??? I could hear her talking to other patients and she was rude. We will never go back there again. When people are in distress, they should not be met with hostility, but with kindness and empathy. She should not be working there.

Armand Braun

I went there on Sunday the 15th to have my knee looked at. It was in severe pain and swollen.to the max. I wanted to get a X-ray done and maybe a prescription for the pain and a anti inflammatory medication. Instead I got a shot of tripodal and sent on my not so merry way. The needle did nothing!!! I went to my own Dr who wrote the prescriptions and gave me a requisition for X-ray. I then went to Humber River hospital on Keele and Wilson and was properly looked after. The Dr took X-rays and then drained my knee of fluid. Thanks to this hospital and Dr. The Dr who first examined me should be disciplined It scares me to think of what she would have done if it would have been a far more serious situation. Mistakes are mistakes but when dealing with lives you must take it far more serious. This was a very bad experience and also sad to have to say because the last time I was there I was treated very well and admitted for a very serious situation. I was thankful for the treatment then. That is why I was mystified by the Dr this time. Maybe she needs to go back to school and get a better education. I knew the proper process why did this particular Dr not???? Armand Braun.

Poor experience right now and on April 23rd at 4:29 pm I brought my son fell down and injured his shoulder waited for some one to care about him at the emergency and no one cares for 2hrs and 30 min for to do the x-ray, I couldn't wait anymore I asked someone for a wheelchair but there was none and I have to carry my 7 years old boy all the way down to the hall way to the x-ray place what a poor experience and no one want to work urgent at the emergency

graeme w

I wish I could give 0 stars this hospital is a miserable place it looks like a third world country inside they made me wait almost 5 hours to provide only basic/ sub par care for my injury and the worst part is that after the fact they are threatening to bill me for the care i received because it happened at work and I have no wsib claim number to provide as my injury did not constitute a lost time injury what a sham of a system I would rather die than return to this awful hospital where it takes up of 30 mins just to see a triage nurse, avoid this place at all costs

Oliver Philip

Extremely terrible care, we are left dehydrated and condition getting worse, worse, and worse. They don’t want to give NG tube or give and attention or care. Inhuman. They tortured us through completely ignoring us and refusing to do anything. Our condition getting worse and worse almost dying and they say it’s normal. Corona! No nutrition provided, we just starve to death. Horrible health care treatment. They’re killing us.

Jay

If i could give this hospital negative star, i would. Took my mom to ER with sever headache around 10 or 9pm and doctor didn't see her till morning 3 or 4am. Once my mom fell on the floor because she couldnt take the pain. When doctor finally came, gave her injection and left and said take her home she'll be fine. But my mom was getting worse and worse, by 5 or 6am her right eye got closed and she couldn't open it. We asked nurses to help. They just ignored us. Tired of waiting we took her home and in just couple of hours received a call from ER that bring her back asap she has blood leak in brain?? Has aneurysm?? As soon as we brought her there then they rushed and helped. Because of their negligence my mom's right eye stayed closed down for 6 months..if they had helped her sooner her right eye wouldn't be damaged.

Jenna Iacutone

Was greeted with such rudeness by staff when taking my newborn in for her hearing test. I initially went to the wrong building and when I asked for help, the lady was just mean and refused to help me. When I finally got someone to help, the individual who helped me sarcastically told me I was in the wrong building. When I finally got to the right building, the staff here gave me incorrect directions to get to the testing area. When I approached someone to tell them I was lost, I was made fun of. How is it okay to make fun of a new mom and give incorrect directions? This was a terrible experience and I'm so grateful that I didn't have my baby in such an unprofessional and cruel place. The only saving grace was the lady that conducted the hearing test was super kind and empathetic.

H. Ramani

Best place in town to get treatment. Staff is very very responsive.

FaZe Grooby

I met the Rockefeller Family at this hospital. One of them had an Eye of Providence Tattoo on their back after I called them out and said their name they got shook and left the room. Then a nurse came in and took me to the mental health ward upstairs.

No name No name

update on the hospital still pretty poor when it comes to service

Zuber Patel

My grandma pass away and at 7 clock and u dont let us see

Annesha Reid

I had to wait 7 hours in the emergency department to see a doctor for my broken leg. The pain got worse and I had to beg them for Advil and they didn’t give me right away. Service is so slow here. You won’t get help right away unless you’re bleeding to death.

Chantel p

This is my second time being here at this hospital, but the first time to use their ER services. I've been waiting 7 hours overnight waiting for blood work results. There's only 1 doctor in, but no where to be found. There are only 5 other people here waiting, and I've been the longest waiting. Every time I ask for an update it's like pulling teeth to get any info. I've been waiting here patiently with extreme pain in my chest and shoulder with my pain meds wearing off. They wouldn't let my husband in and he had to wait outside in the cold for 7 hours+. This is unacceptable. I honestly can't believe this. I arrived before 9pm and it's past 4am with no results and my husband starts work at 7am. At this point, I'm going to drive during morning rush hour!!

Adrian G

Staff in emergency are incompetent.. waited from 600pm until 330am for blood and ultrasound results.. staff don't communicate with one another and are unhelpful.. not to mention rude when you ask then for an update since you've been waiting for so many hours.. there only response was backed up.. why can't I give this hospital a 0 stars

Akshaykumar Paladiya

Small hospital, but great staff of nurses & doctors ????

Fabio Chirco

My wife was at Emergency and I found some of the staff to be very unprofessional. They would crack jokes about other patients in pain. A few of the nurses were rude and not gentle when handling patients, especially when administrating IV. They are in the process of a huge renovation, maybe they should consider replacing the staff as well.

Lame Squirrel

I went there for a gastroscopy. Straightforward check-in process, using the kiosk at the reception. The facilities were clean, even though some renovation work was in progress. The staff and nurses I dealt with were professional and efficient; no hassles. The procedure was carried out in a proper, well equipped operating room; as I expected, the anesthesiologist, gastroenterologist, and nurses were pleasant and professional. I’ve read terrible reviews of this facility and I was a bit concerned about it, but my experience was positive and I have no complaints.

Steve Choi

Your phone system is terrible, not user friendly and not accurate. I lost so much time trying to get through. I am a doctor and I was trying to get through today and I can only imagine how frustrating it is for patients.

gbaby

if you love your life please stay away from this hospital. If you would like to leave this hospital feeling the same or even worse, come here..... TRUST ME

ming la

Nurses and doctors were great. I would like to thank the medical team of EGH.

Clown World

These people, don’t know what the f**k they are doing. And more than half the nurses are rude and have visible issues with there personal life and take it out on patients. The second you can leave here I would recommend you do it. If you can avoid this 1960’s communist style Healh care I would strongly recommend you do so. You might find a few decent people but if your stay is longer than a day watch out. Equipment is outdated layout completely confusing, makes no sense. Parking for in the city is outrageous, it’s like your paying downtown prices. They will milk your tax dollars for sure and if you have any additional health coverage they will do that too.

Affiesha G

Don't know why people can't stay home and out of trouble

arif shaikh

Last 3 hours just waiting for scan results awful.

S M

Slowest hospital I have ever been to. Signing in alone takes around 20 mins (if you're lucky and they don't misspell your name on the wrist bands and labels, which they have done! ). Every nurse I've interacted with here has been rude and not helpful and the overall environment is the most depressing and miserable I've ever witnessed. Hallways are tight, dark and dirty looking. Signage sucks and is incredibly difficult to get where you're trying to go. Will not be back here for anything other than a really horrendous emergency.

Joey T.

Thanks to the staff here, had surgery with dr Kus, the nurses were very nice.

Matilda Lubina

I came today March 18, 21 around 9am to Emergency with my husband, who is cancer patient. The women in the front door was asking, why he came, what is wrong with him. I was explaining her, his doctor from UHN hospital from downtown called, he need to go immediately to nearest Emergency, they arrange everything with Etobicoke Emergency and he doesn't need to wait. The women check the papers and said, she doesn't see anything bad and no need to come to EMERGENCY. She was so mean and not helpful I started to cry. This is the way, how you treat patients, who came to Emergency looking for help?! This type of workers, who have no respect and sympathy for patients, doesn't deserve to have a job in hospital.

Kelly U

I had a foot operation and had a very good experience. The staff were super friendly and caring. Great people there!

Raman Dhaliwal

Very good staff and very caring too. I delivered a baby they are very corporative, caring and understanding. Dr chan and RN Sukhmani Kainth both are very good and nice they are very caring.

Melissa Larkin

Fastest hospital experience I’ve had.

Karan Trivedi

I am waiting since night till the morning and I don’t know why it is taking so long as it is not even busy. Hospital have lost the meaning of emergency the person who is in sever pain have to wait for long just because doctors are busy attending patients just having fever. Doctors and hospital should know to pick patients first who really need emergency treatment.

Mini Meg

I would give this hospital zero stars if I could. My husband had to go in for emergency eye surgery.. and let's just say it was a terrible experience. I do NOT recommend this hospital at all.

AMZ

This hospital is very well kept and all precautions are been taken .

Sara Kharal

I saw a nurse telling a man who looked about 90 to get off the wheelchair and walk himself to the registration desk because it was not the nurse's job to push the wheelchair. I've seen rude nurses in this hospital every time I'm here. Don't they have any training.

Alik

I had appendicitis and had to wait 14 hours to get it removed. It was 1 am walked in with no line up, my abdomen was hurting so much I felt like passing out my father told the girl please take him in he’s about to pass out. The girl was young dark skinned and she said you can wait outside and kissed her teeth at us. I vomited right in front of her, they had to clean it up she took me in right after that. I don’t like writing reviews but I don’t know how she even got hired. Seriously if you don’t like your job LEAVE. Other than that and the wait the rest were nice and provided good service. Thanks!

uzaer ahmed

Horrible wait times especially for emergency patients with broken bones

Anne Marie Clarke

The new emergency department presents as being worse than the old. People were even sitting on the floor. Not sure who designed the space, but more consideration should have been given to accommodating larger numbers of patients and getting them triaged as quickly as possible. First visit and not impressed. New usually means better, but not in this case.

Vitaly Mishchiy

Absolute no regards for sick individuals. Treating people just as another number and nothing else. 4 different nurses called us to request the SAME information over a spam of 5 hours. What does staff do? Txt on their phones, joke with one another, and we are paying for this services. NO thank you!!!! Please get some regulatory body to over see this chaos...the staff are not working and just wasting time. You will die in here before you see a doctor and get your treatment. What a SHAME to canadian medical society and system. SHAME!!!!!

SuperTomcat

New and improved well emerg is but I'm still very very about the Care inside to patients had a very bad experience few years ago

Kristina Hedley

I'm here right now, Friday August 13, room 8088 bed 2 if you want to talk to me. I had a very complex ankle surgery on the 11th, but should have been able to go home yesterday. But I was having issues with pain management and whatnot. They've been good, except for 2 nurses. Well yesterday I was in. Excruciating pain, no one could touch me. But there we times I needed to get to the bathroom bit the pain would flare up to the point that it was too painful. The pain was getting worse last night, nothing doing anything. Bit the staff are wonderful people except for 2 of the nurses.

Zaturon

I was born here! I have also come here a few times for a number of reasons and the nurses and doctors are friendly and quick!

PUBG BEAST

They never have doctors at night they make you wait until the next day and also very rude front service

Adi Z

Worst hospital In all of GTA. Horrible doctors and horrible waiting times

Michael Snary

The rudest nurses I have encountered. I will never go back there!!!!!!

Devang Solanki

My first Nd only experience with hospital in Canada and it was the worst one so far. Even if you go to emergency, you gotta wait for 3-4 hours for your turn no matter in how much painful condition you are. Pathetic service and horrible staff.

Romel Harripersaud

Very long Waite. I was told I should move away with my daughter because she was sick and crying. a 1 year old.

Amit Dadral

Your covid test booking cell number and online booking not working. And no one answering on given hospital number. No other option...

Megha Bhardwaj

Long waits, government feel but the workers do their best and serve the patients given their resources. the hospital is huge so really easy to get lost. They have everything here to get scans and tests and x-rays done. The new wing is really nice, rooms are large and very clean. I am not a fan of everything being white ...gives it an odd vibe

windyx5

I was admitted to William Osler in August 2015 spent 7hrs. in emerg, receiving no pain medication until 5 hrs after my arrival and then advised that I required emergency surgery. I was discharged the following day at 9:00 am in the morning, despite being in pain and not able to urinate I was given pain medication I was allergic to, and when after the pharmacy brought it to my attention, I called the Dr. responsible & was advised by his staff that he had left for the weekend and nobody else could help me. Later that same day I had to be rushed back to Mt. Sinai Hospital in Toronto at 3:00 pm that same day due to my raging fever, and extreme pain. After spending 4 days there I was finally released. Would never again go there for any sort of emergency, but now to add insult to injury, I was contacted regarding the ambulance bill...$47.50, which I paid in full using my VISA to their collection agency.. never received a bill in the mail... and am now being hounded again to pay the bill by a 2nd collection company. When I called the hospital to speak with accounting, they basically called me a liar, even though I provided them with all the information. How is that even possible. Now I have to get my bank RBC to help prove fraud.. What an absolute crock!

Alishah Hudda

Trying to reach for my covid19 test results but no response from their end I don't have health card so cant access those options, i already emailed u at roi@williamoslerhs.ca please reply to that email

Dejan

We just came today to Emergency with serious swollen finger issue and everything was completed (including doctor's intervention) in 1.5 hours. Triage, meeting with Nurse, X-ray, meeting with the doctor and Dr's intervention. Everybody was ultra nice and polite. Thank you so much!

Nigel Conti

MY Grandfather was transferred here from St.Mikes without a word to any of my family members. We ended up going down to visit him at St.Mikes only to learn that they had transferred him to Etobicoke Now, they've lost his health card and all his clothes in the move, they are not allowing more than 2 people to go visit. not 2 people at a time, 2 people EXCLUSIVELY. When I try to get answers on the phones the nurses get extremely nasty and short with me. One Nurse tells me one story, another Nurse tells me a different contradictory story. Doctors cannot be found anywhere. Dog dookie hospital with terrible staff who are only in the profession for the money.

Sunil Kumra

Please don’t ever come to this hospital this hospital should shut down immediately so unhygienic and so dirty and staff is not enough to do their job peoperly.

Sajid Ahmed

Worst emergency ever. Even a walk-in clinic is better than their "emergency". I went in there with a high chest pain and was bounced from room to room for hours and hours and hours. Didn't even know what's going on. Not all, but some of the (Indian) staff are extremely rude. I don't like pointing out people by race or colour, but I thought it was important to identify them so that the hospital authority takes some action and gives them some training on basic human etiquette and niceness. I'd say avoid this place if you can.

Talya Smith

Due to construction place was disastrous. No staff in site at welcome desk on visiting floor or doctor or nurse for over 45 mins.

Scott Jackson

Unorganized and nurses treat you like you're an inconvenience

Miguel Laborde

Worst experience ever.. My father was admitted Friday evening and stayed in emergency until Monday morning around 2am until we brought him home against the doctor's recommendation. He degraded dramatically while in emergency, due to the noise he was sleep deprived which made a huge negative psychological impact. Specialists never showed up when they were meant to. The hematologist that was looking at my dad's blood made his rounds through emergency, but we had no idea because he didn't even come to see his patient/my dad. My dad was there due to cancer and possible complications, so blood work was critical. The nurse even paged him, he never returned. He's been home 2 days and feels better, has more strength since being able to sleep properly and remove the stress of the hospital environmental. We're taking to Sunnybrook now which we're hopefully is much better. Never ever go to this hospital if you can help it - you risk coming out worse than you went in.

Nidhi sharma

If you are giving birth in this hospital think twice. When you register they say nurse will call you to ask your prefrences and other important questions. Never got a call and when tried to reach they said all answers have been answered by you. I never got a call and dnt know who they called. Marjonie tebb maternity clinic is not making any calls and closing applications with fake information.

Rousseau Chanda

This is an excellent hospital. The staff are indeed knowledge and efficient. The atmosphere is not unwelcoming although they are busy almost entirely. The staff also helps expedite things whenever they can even though they are working with 1 ER physician during off peak times but they get around to you in reasonable time frame. Keep it up.

Sidra Khan

Had a horrible experience at William Osler Emergency Srv. The wait time was ridiculous and the ER was pretty slow (not too many people there) but this department is clearly understaffed. All the nurses we interacted with were not pleasant to work with. Took 5 hours to get an x-ray, and 2 additional hours to see the doctor (for 30 secs). A family member was unable to move due to an injury, came via an ambulance, and was in intense pain but still had to wait 9 hours for full care service.

yongping xu

I was hospitalized for AF. The doctors and nurses are very professional and helpful. They take care about the patient and not to rush to get conclusion. They released me when they are sure I was ok. The facility is clean and well organized. Hope it will get better Yongping Xu

Sasireka Ravishankar

Very Bad, Very bad, VERY VERY BAD, I'm here with my in law right now.. the service is very bad.. cleaning of the place is not good at all.. nurses and registration desk emp are very rude.. come on you are talking to a sick and tired PATIENT.. for god sake treat them nicely they already are suffering and may not hear you sometimes so , they had to ask again of so please repeat, don't criticise them.. I don't want to rate 1 star.. I want to give them 0 or - start if I could ... So disappointed ????

Heather Valentino

Although we waited in 6 different waiting areas... We were in and out in relatively fast time. The communication though is very poor. It wouldn't take much for them to take it to the next level. The hospital itself is very nice.

George Koliniotis

One of the best doctors I've seen. Was one of the only doctors who found my pain. Very thorough. Made me feel very comfortable about the surgery. Thank you with all my heart ❤.

Taarisha Kochhar

Worst staff ever! From entering the hospital to the way everyone treats you, it’s disgusting! In the field of helping people’s lives, these people have no compassion, no way to talk to patients who might even be dying in pain. The nurse at the entrance who was doing the registration was so rude, I wondered why she even became a nurse and let alone get hired! Never coming to this horrible hospital again. Better staff at halton region hospitals who are kind and compassionate. I would give 0 stars if I could!

Shijo Joseph

Excellent

Shaher Nazer

I think very good

montaser martin

For samll Emergency you need to wait hours and hours to get help

lisa dhami

Crazy wait 7 hours in emergency. They misplaced the chart. Asked many times but ignored the request. Bad experience.

Muhammad Fateh Haider Khan

I took my 3 years old in emergency there. This hospital has one of the worst staff I have ever encountered. From the triage, reception and nurses it seems someone have forced them to be there. They have condescending tone, bad attitude and make you feel you are not welcome there. The administration needs to take serious action on the behavior of the staff. They are being paid by the taxpayers money. I think almost all of them need anger management, courtesy and behavioral training.

Julie Longhurst

Its ok for people that have a disability there is so much walking and no one there to push a wheelchair if you need it.

André B.

I was referred to a psychiatrist here by my family doctor, and it was a spectacularly negative experience. He was rude and unprofessional. Frequently interrupted me when I was talking about my problems because I was saying things "too technical" and even accused me of reading on the internet. He was indifferent of the diagnoses I've been given and refused to listen to anything i had to say. Instead he talked AT me and minimized my health issues. Stay far away from this incompetent fraud.

Porshia Sidhu

I landed with my son in this hospital in emergency. I returned with my 2 and a half year old son from India, my toddler had a diarrhea for 48 hrs which started in India. Right from the airport I was taken in ambulance to Etobicoke General Hospital. I must say the RNs; the doctors and other staff was very helpful. The moment my son arrived at the hosp, he was checked by the doctor and was told he immediately needs an IV. He was kept in this hosp where I was given a private room which was quite big and clean, and was admitted for 2 days. During the 2 days, he was checked in and out for his pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure and if his body is hydrated or not. He got few IVs and anti biotic treatment and was under complete observation. Although there were times when we had to wait for the doctors to come or wait for his abdomen ultrasound but it's fine as we know hospital is a busy place and each patient is important. After he was discharged, we received a call from the hospital after 5 days to ask if my son is doing fine or not. I was very pleased by their this action too. This hospital is far better in every aspect in comparison to Credit valley hospital in Mississauga.

Rita Sanelli

If I could rate lower I would. Horrible experience from Emerg doctor and nurses. Was told to stay over night for MRI called at 5 when the porter brought me over , technician barked " who sent you here , we don't do MRI s at 5 am, went back, then at 1pm was told I was going home and an MRI requisition would be sent. I requested Kitchener as the wait time was much shorter, the nurse practioner grudginly agreed. A week later, I called Kitchener, they received nothing. The only good thing was the kind and attentive nurse overnight at short-term..unless it s a life or death situation, and time is of the essence, I would never step foot in that horrible place!

Julie De

Brought my husband in via ambulance on jan 20th due to severe abdominal pain, headaches and fever. Emerg nurses took him in right away, took great care of him over the next 20 hrs. Gave us a quite , private room, administeted multiple test, CT Scan , xrays etc. Can't say enogh good things about the Dr's and nurses during our experience especially nurses Yang and Wyling. Thank you very much for helping him get well enough to come home.

Silvi E

Great service and very fast. One of the few good neighbourhood hospitals left in the city

Baljinder Kaur

I had back pain. It was worst experience for me because my condition was really bad and I was unable to move. I told one of the nurse that I need some water and she told me go to the washroom and drink from there. I felt really bad that time because if the patient can stand their own they don’t ask you for that.

Shibu Koodal

My son Derick was born in this Hospital. Staff Nurses & Doctor's are given good treatment.

Andrea Williams

This hospital has it's ups and downs. Some days you may go in, and get incredible service. Other days, you just want to go home and deal with your ailments yourself. One thing is for sure, a lot of the doctors, volunteers and other medical staff could definitely brush up on their mannerisms and professionalism. How can you be a doctor or nurse and not know how to cater to each individual? Why become a health care provider if you don't CARE? It's very odd to me. I had my daughters at this hospital, both by cesarean section, in 2014 and 2017 respectively. Some nurses in the maternity wards are really rude. Especially to those are not from this country, or who's first language isn't English. Just because you know big medical words, it doesn't make you better than the mom rolling in pain from a C-Section incision. These nurses need to learn how to deal with the emotional side of having babies. I don't know how the nurses and doctors have time to gossip when you should be attending to your patients. Even if you want to gossip, do it in private. Don't go to other patients, telling them about how another patient is a pest. I've seen many of them do that, and it's entirely inappropriate. Luckily, I stand up for myself and would never let a nurse or doctor disrespect me. The entire hospital is quite clean, they do take good care in terms of cleanliness of the building. They could have a much bigger waiting area at the main building. Lots of improvements need to be had, and some of the nurses and doctors need to go back to school, and take a couple of courses on professionalism and compassion.

Raj Sidhu

Good for normal patients, but sometimes in emergency they take too much time. But I have good experience. Doctors and nurses are very polite and helpful. Security persons also very nice and helpful.

Heather Semper

Recently had to have elderly my mom go by ambulance. The staff were great; they have so much to deal with in Emergency what with patients in the hall, visitors coming and going, concerned family. Doctors and Therapists and tech's also were great. My mom got a full work up and the staff took time to explain the situation to us even taking into consideration challenges facing us.

George Galanis

Staff always try to go above and beyond to ensure best service

Sarah Young

I had a bad infection in my toe, had to wait a long time for the doctor. I also suffer from severe anxiety and had told the doctor this. I've never had freezing done before, he froze my toe and came back to the room. Told me to lay down and didn't tell me what he was doing. He started to cut and I felt it. I moved and he dropped all his utensils and yelled at me stating that if I moved he won't do this for me. My friend happened to be on the phone and couldn't believe it. I started to cry and couldn't breathe properly. Horrible bed side manner. Will never go back to this horrible hospital.

NellaNella Official

The worst service. Dr Johnson is a terrible doctor.

Nasir Wahab

I wish if someone would pay attentipn to this hospital, and specially its staff, rude people , no matter how politevl you are with them they lack the training and respect...

neil bose

Leaves an emergency patient with acute dyspnea for 3 hrs before the tests. Doctor just makes a visit for a min to share reports, before patient could ask any questions about his condition. Staff don't seem to care.

Keeki Styles

Horrible. In emergency due to injuries here from 9.20pm now it's 11.50pm still no doctor.

Megan Leblanc

It’s unfathomable the lack of compassion and care that the staff along with the hospital carries at this hospital. I have never in my life received care from a hospital so poorly directed and with no elaboration or assurity, experiencing something traumatic as an individual you would think they had better caregiver practices, even just in advising you of what to do next and what to avoid, etc. That of which I had to look up and find out on my own after leaving as I did not receive it here. I am not one to leave a review for much of anything really but the unprofessionalism and heartlessness you feel from certain staff is mind boggling as they do not provide you any clarity outside of what they have to and I feel in healthcare that’s unacceptable. If you are planning on have a child delivery or surgery etc I would advise againsr coming here. I’d rather drive to another city than receive care here ever Again.

Beata Toth

Horrible hospital they are discriminates and treat you like an animal. My Mom doesn't speak english they didn't let me in with her. And my Mom cried and had an anxiety because her lock of english . How are they understanding patient if they don't speak a same language. It is a shame...lazy staff and just try to find many excuse not to work.

Ahmad Dhooma

This place is the absolute worst for wait times. Every single time I have come here there's always a ridiculously long wait time. After a cut that almost left me 1 finger short, I waited 6 hours before someone even saw me. My wife went in for stomach pain, 7 hours later still no imaging was done and no doctor was seen. I'd advise you to go to an urgent Care center if the matter is less serious or just another hospital. Avoid this place like the plague!

Andrew Kerfoot

Compared to Brampton civic, the staff was friendlier, but the building itself was disgusting, dark and very singly with too many hallways. My mum who is claustrophobic felt uncomfortable waiting.

Sumeet Goutam

Everytime I have had to come here it has been the worst experience. Each visit gets worse and worse, it's quite astonishing. The number one excuse for why things are slow is: we are waiting on another department, we don't know what the other department is doing. You are one hospital and you all have phones, figure out how to function like a unit. I would definitely suggest to people to stay away from this "hospital". Emergency in their books means a turnaround of about twelve hours.

CNTRL Band Official

It's a butcher shop. DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL. Nurses are rude beyond belief. They dont give you any information about pills they give you. They literally stick needles in you without a warning or information. It's a nightmare experience. Go to trillium.

Janelle K

Let this hospital be your last resort. There should really be an option to give 0 or negative stars because this hospital is by far the worst in all aspects. The emergency unit is absolutely ridiculous, incompassionate and filled with people who don't take your loved ones' health seriously. Extremely understaffed and unprofessional. They don't care about any of the patients. Mixed information from every nurse. And doctors not wanting me to ask any questions pertaining to the information they provide me with. A specialist asked me "are you the doctor or me?" when i asked to clarify things THEIR nurses told me pertaining to my mom's health. Everyone other than the check in staff are super unprofessional. Disgusting excuse for a place that should be providing acute healthcare. In addition to all that, it took 13 hours in total for 2 ct scans, blood tests and to get the results to see whats wrong with my mom. From 6pm on Wednesday to 7am on Thursday. From 2:30am to 7am,I waited for the results for my 2nd ct scan. If my mom depended on those last 5 hours to receive proper medical care, she would have died. I had nurses who were supposed to be taking an Iv for my her walk away with no explanation just to see them helping other patients. That's fine if it's busy but the lack of communication in the emergency unit is sickening. From 6pm to 7am, the miscommunication or lack thereof from nurse to nurse and doctor to doctor was frustrating and I have never been so concerned and uncomfortable in the care of "professionals" than I felt at this hospital. I really felt like my mom's life didn't matter in this hospital and that should NEVER be the case when it comes to healthcare. Every doctor and nurse that has been assigned to my mom should be ashamed of themselves and this hospital should be shut down.

Kheyla Pehlke

The doctor didn’t even touch my 8 month old son. He took a look at him and diagnosed him with something he for sure does not have (got second opinion) and was in the room with us for all of 30 seconds. I brought my little guy home where he just suffered all night and I had no idea how to help him. Terrible terrible service.

Emergency Room Healthcare - Save your life and go to another hospital. Consider yourself warned, you'll thank me in the end.

Amandeep kaur

Please Help to the sick people. All people there are not responsible for any patient

Worst experience ever. Had my first baby there.. nurses didn’t help at all. We were almost left to care the baby ourselves. They told you will have to learn everything yourselves, never came to room more than twice in night. Held the crying baby and frustrated wife in my hands and prayed for a miracle. Now my second baby born in US, we now see the difference. Wow to universal health care.!

The Etobicoke General Hospital is a community hospital located at 101 Humber College Boulevard in the Etobicoke district of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Etobicoke General Hospital serves the communities of Etobicoke, Brampton, Mississauga, Caledon, and Woodbridge. Overview Etobicoke General Hospital was opened in 1972. It has 262 hospital beds and serves over 230 000 residents in Etobicoke and the surrounding areas. Annually, the hospital has over 50,270 outpatients, 15,785 inpatients, and has 70,000 emergency visits. It employs 1026 health care professionals, and has more than 200 affiliated family physicians and specialists. It also has 400 dedicated volunteers including a wide variety of co-operative education students. It is a member of the William Osler Health System group of hospitals. The original hospital building was opened in 1972, following governmental investment and a major donations push led by a group of local volunteers. Although rearrangement and renovation followed over the decades since the hospital's opening, further expansion would occur more than 40 years later. In 2018, Osler opened the Etobicoke Wellness Centre (EWC). The Wellness Centre represents a partnership between the hospital and various external partners, such as independent physicians and private businesses. It houses a number of Etobicoke General outpatient services, such as a fracture clinic, a pre-anesthesia care unit, diagnostic imaging, a diabetes education centre, and a 15-machine hemodialysis unit, newly opened in April 2020. The remainder of the building is dedicated to private clinics and businesses, such as LifeLabs. Immediately following the opening of the Etobicoke Wellness Centre, a new patient tower (nicknamed the "west wing") was opened in June 2019.[5] The patient tower houses a new emergency department, ICU, birthing unit, neonatal ICU, and a number of outpatient clinics.

Do not come here. This hospital is like a 3rd world country hospital. They lack space, lack staff. There are patients laying on stretchers all over the hallways. The doctors were no help. Some of the nurses and the x-ray staff were very friendly thought. But be ready for an extremely long wait.

krystalxciv

I just returned from dropping my mother to the emergency department. The nurse at the door entry was so rude in tone and actions. My mother recently tested positive for COVID19 and has severe asthma and pneumonia. The kind doctor she saw at the same hospital 24 hours prior told her to return if her symptoms were uncontrollable. As I brought my sick mother in by wheel chair, we explained what was happening and the nurse immediately said "well this is the virus she has to deal with it, theres nothing else we can really do"...she then proceeded to imply that my mother was lying about pneumonia because she wasn't prescribed any antibiotics from the hospital. They did not allow me to go past the doors to be with my mother who could barely walk over to the waiting area. My heart feels so heavy and I don't feel comfortable leaving my mom there because of her actions. It's one thing to serve patients, but there is something called compassion and sympathy when working in this field and it should be enforced especially during this pandemic. Very disappointed.

Worst place to get MRI done. They make you keep waiting.

Azeezah M

Rather die than ever go there again

The food options at this Hospital need a serious overhaul. The cafeteria is a complete joke. The other place besides the subway in the caf has signs and things on the menu and all I kept hearing the lady tell the customers is she doesn't have this, no cheese for that, don't have that this week - why have signage and items on the menu you can't serve? If you're not inpatient - you're screwed unless you want to spend your day drinking coffee and eating muffins or bagels from the Tim's kiosk. Beware of the stale, lukewarm patties and Pizza served at these kiosks. So disappointing.

When I took my 6month old baby in August, they had just 1 doctor for the entire emergency ward. I went in at 6pm and came out at 4am. They ran some tests which took only an hour and they got the reports too but it took so long just for the doctor to come by and say “all ok- you can leave.” He spent less than a minute. The prescription was wrong too. I took it to 2 pharmacy and they said it was not the right dosage for my baby. I went there again yesterday as my baby had an allergic reaction. The place was packed. This time I waited for a long time just to get the prescription, almost an hour after meeting the doctor. I saw that there were many other patients with worse symptoms both older people and babies had been waiting for almost 5hours. There were many doctors on duty. No one gave them proper answer. They were treated rudely. There were crying babies, starving old people, all of them desperately waiting to leave because of the long wait. I don’t want to go there again! Really bad experience.

Erika Pêpe

This is by far the worse ER I've ever been in my life. It's a small space with patients piling up everywhere having zero attention from the doctors and staff. Huge line to pass through triage, wasting the time of patients and paramedics, while staff is chatting and laughing with each other. Waited 6 hours so a doctor could see us just to say that the exam showed nothing irregular and would run another one. Didn't even say which exam was and didn't want to know more information about the patient. It seems that this Hospital has no management system or personnel. You see dirt and disorganization everywhere along with a terrible smell. You have to constantly ask if the results for an exam came out, look for the doctor and ask them to check it, otherwise you will be waiting forever 'cause they just don't care. The reception doesn't even know what they are charging you for. The only pro part about this terrible place is the nurses. They do most of the job with such respect and knowledge. They are the heroes of this place.

Alexandra Maieron

I wish I could give this hospital 0 stars I’ve gone in to this hospital because it’s the closest to me, & every single time I’ve left there worse or with no help. Doctors being pushy & not answering questions. Charts getting lost. Very disorganized & even longer waiting times with the new system & renovation Dismissing feelings after being asked how you feel Sending patients home with unnecessary medication Just an all around mess. No patient remorse at all. Just feels like they are pushing a bunch of cows through a factory. A very disorganized & rude factory. I will for now on be travelling the extra distance to receive better care Please go anywhere else

Sajid Tadwala

Nurse : jessica she is very nice excellent job so friendly I am so impress so Happy????????????

Adam Odeh

I've been waiting to see a doctor for 9 hours. I'd rather drop dead than experience this hospitals service again.

Miss Melina

My dad is a patient at Brampton Civic hospital - cardiology ward. He would like me to thank the staff ,receptionist, volunteers and the nurse Anu at cardiology for being very attentive, kind and helpful. During times like this in a pandemic, it is difficult to be in the hospital alone without family or visitors allowed but the nurses are accommodating, kind and helpful. They provide individuals care and put the time into helping find the cause of your health issues and promptly share this information with your family doctor and cardiologist as well. Having been to emergency, cardiology unit and ECG lab I would say that this is a very good hospital with attentive care. Thank you Anu for your help and attentive care for my dad as a patient. It is greatly appreciated.

Riday Sarkar

This hospital need zero rating, waited for 11 hrs to see a doctor in emergency.

John Vena

Incredible staff. They have gone a I've and beyond to ensure that we were comfortable and make sure we were kept in the loop of what was going on with our newborn.

Jennifer Jaleel

Very, very, very, very Painful my heart was broken in billions of tiny pieces.

J. A

Was admitted to ICU by ambulance as close by. needed immediate and most part good experience. Dr needed space moved me to another floor with no.preparation or consideration on my ability to move. No therapy or equipment to assist. Totally on mercy of nurses for everything times can be 14 min wait to assist washroom. Total lack of human compassion just disregard hope patient survives. Avoid when ever possible or transfer once here.

Caroline Sévigny

I haaaate hospitals, but honestly this one wasn't as bad a the reviews said. I went to the emergency on a Sunday of a long weekend so I was afraid I would have to waste my day there... it took me only 15 minutes to see the nurse and 1 hour to see the doctor, the latter being really nice (he even changed the note saying I wouldn't be able to go back to work for 4 days instead of 3 when I asked him if that would be possible as it would be more convenient for me).

Rose Ghazal

Worst hospital I ever seen I can not belive this is canadaian health care here it's so dirty like u will throw up from the garbage . The nurses are the rudest people on earth . I felt I i am to some old places from old century full of garbage and the emergency entrance another story By the time u find the emergency entrance I am sure too many people died while they looking for it Cuz all the doors aroud are locked And u have to go aroud the building like a maze to find the entrance . It's horible horible horible hospital Please save ur life and do not go . Unless you are dead I think this hospital it's for dead people Only I gave it 1 but it's doesn't deserve one even just because they don't let me it not to put any star This hospital has no stars at all

Y Sajid

Very kind and knowledgeable staff. Truly care about you and eager to go out of their way to assist you. Nadine from Emergency is amazing and I cannot thank her enough for her help. Would recommend this hospital for your health concerns.

sabrina la rizza ciarallo

I don't know what the lady's name was but my grandmother is on the 9th floor and the person who brings the food around wearing red is the rudest person I have encountered, I have had 3 problems with this lady in the past 3 days, I've complained about her to 2 different people. It's unfortunate that people like her have to ruin the total experience because there was a nurse that was very kind. When I find out this stupid persons name I will update this I am VERY upset and I hope she gets fired

Stephanie

This hospital is a joke. It's probably the worst hospital in ontario. Wait time was over 8 hours. They had my results from hours ago and still had me waiting for hours to give me the results. Don't go to this hospital.

ANAHIT GOR

REALLY NEED TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT WAITING TIME IN ER. HOSPITAL IS THE ONLY HOPE . WHY NOT TO REDUCE THE BACKLOG BY PUTTING MORE DOCTORS AND THEN FIRST COME FIRST SERVE.. HAVE ONE WALK IN FOR LESS SERIOUS PATIENTS AND TRY TO MANGE THE WORK LOAD,. MANAGEMENT IS HIGHLY PAID , THINK ABOUT IT , NOT ABOUT YOUR PAY/HOUR ONLY . I GAVE THREE STARS FOR ER DOCTORS AND CUT 2 BECAUSE OF POOR MANAGEMENT,

Sourabh Goyal

Got into a rear end car accident injured lower back ribs and neck, I went in the emergency and the nurse was extremely rude, she don’t even want to listen where and how it’s hurts. With the injured body and pain they made me sit for 4-5 hours in emergency and the doctor didn’t even look at you and you for the test and after waiting that much time they just sent me home, nurses don’t know how to do blood test. Its 5th day I’m still suffering from pain can’t even sit. After blood test my hand is blue when i asked the nurse how much time i have to wait she was like we are doing whole hospital you’re not the only one just go and sit. If you guys want to get more pain and frustration with some more illness please give them a visit they will provide free rude behaviour, uneducated staff and some more infections and injuries.

Mario Morizio

My mom needed an x-ray for hip surgery checked in with self serve computer, scan health card gives you a number. The person announcing the # is barely heard over PA system, when I asked about the process I was told they called her #. My mom and didn't hear it. This after 3hr wait! When we registered they ask for health card again Why! We already scanned it at remote computer, now we waited for another 1 hour. My mom is 83 years old it is not reasonable for someone at her age to have to wait that long.

Zahid Syed

For MRI appointments they ask patients to arrive 45 minutes before scheduled time. Registration takes one minute, and another few minutes to walk to the MRI room location. Looks like they don’t care about the time of patients. Doctors in Canada are mostly incompetent and this is another addiction to Ontario health care

Sophia A

Don’t get admitted if you really don’t have to. Hospital nurses are working beyond capacity especially during COVID. Level of care is really low. My diabetic mother wasn’t even given diabetic friendly meals and came home with high blood glucose levels, not to mention other concerns.

Paolo Calce

Worst treatment ever in emergency, I came in with what I can only described to be sciatica(from what I learned online) so I came for an mri to confirm the debilitating pain I was having, only to be held there for more than 5 hours and given a prescription of naproxone and told to go through my GP to set up an appointment for MRI. What a joke, I work full time, and an MRI in emergency would have confirmed my condition and saved me from missing more work. I had to go to Physio on my own, which meant missing more work because I cant stand on my feet for more than 1 minute before I collapse from pain. The sorry state of health care in emergency in this province has become like an assembly line, no different than a walk in clinic. 5 hours to write a prescription!! wth. What upset me the most was the fake smile and the "happy to have served you today" that I received before I questioned the doc's diagnosis and he became agitated and blew me off cuz he had to keep the line going. Rediculous!!

Peace love& Happiness

Pathethic!!!and unbelievably terrible

RavPhantom 94

Worst hospital. Rude staff and takes forever.

HP

Pathetic service i have ever seen in emergency. Not sure how they call emergency! When i entered, the lady who asked for my details is so rude. They really don’t know how to treat with patient. Even though, there was only person in front of me, it took almost 1.5-2 hours for treatment.

Kirandeep kaur

My sister had a appointment with the doctor at 6th floor. When we reach 6th floor we ask receptionist about further details her behaviour was very rude with us.

ST Kirk

If I could give a 0 star rating I would. I have no idea how this hospital is still functioning with the lack of medical service one receives here. My mother was in emergency for 1-2 days before getting moved to a room and then had to wait another 3-4 days to have her inflamed gall bladder removed which could have spread an infection to her liver and pancreas. This is the third terrible experience at this hospital and something needs to change!!!!!

Mohamed Ibrahim

Rude nurses cant respect the patient, specially those who were working on 4th March 2021, am kind asking the director to take an action nd do follow up abt this issue

Saras N

The worst service you can experience from a hospital. I called this hospital five times to speak to my mom that has been admitted there and these people that answer the phone have no empathy! I was told by some nurses: I don't know where the patient is, I can't help you, call back in an hour we are changing shifts. In the background, you can hear the nurses saying it's not their patient. No compassion whatsoever they have! I even ask for help from one of the receptionist at the desk and she rudely told me I don’t know who can help you. Okay, can someone look in their system and help me. Seriously? Who hired these people?

Jessica Cimino

I have been there since 4 am. It's 4 pm. I did an ultrasound and xray at 8 am due to sharp abdominal and chest pain and still no results. The emergency staffing seems lost , and unorganized. No one seemed to be helpful out of the 3 times I asked for updates. I told them I'm leaving. They said I am leaving against medical advice. If I'm not dying or I can go home, why waste my entire day ? Clear seating space for individuals who are in more severe pain.

Malika Arora

Need to improve emergency waiting time. You Waite 10 hours ,

Louise Maronese

I was there today with a broken Beside the pinky They took X-ray On my foot And they Support my PinkyThey're really friendly people in there????

Vivian Hedo

There is no good service in this hospital ????????

Osheika Lammie

Please avoid this hospital at all cost, imagine I went to to the emergency unit and still had to wait 3 hours to see a doc, what’s the point of emergency unit, if you want to die, go to this hospital, they wouldn’t attend to you unless your dying or paramedics came in with you

Pranavan Thambipillai

good hospital !

Rajdeep Aulakh

I hope I can give zero star the staff, the nurses even the doctors at this hospital are not friendly at all. My brother is suffering from some mental health issues and brought at that hospital by 911 but now they are not providing me any information about him. He is the only son of my parents my parents got depressed because of their this kind of privacy. I applied for emergency visa for my parents for which I just need prescription from the doctor but doctor don’t even want to talk to me. He be like taking to phone is same as meeting in person and now he didn’t give me a call back even I am requesting from last 4 days. I live in Ottawa and went Toronto just to speak with the doctor and he did this to me. According to the doctors and nurses privacy is more important than someone’s life. They are not stressing me they are stressing my parents right now if anything will happen with my parents this hospital will be responsible. They are old and want to come and meet their son they are going in depression too

Anish Kapadia

Had booked a OBSP screening a month and a half before. Called on the day of to confirm time and was told the appointment didn't exist.

Nat Persaud

My mom was rushed to the hospital. She died. Up to this day...I don't know what time she died, where she died or even what was the cause of her death. No one could give me an answer. They just kept telling my family and I that we have to wait for the coroner. My mother is dead. My family and I were in the emergency room with her for over 9 hours. The amount of noise and people coming in and out and telling you to move out of the way, the amount of people sticking there heads in to see who died. It was absolutely disrespectful! Fast forward to around 7:45 p.m....the night nurse comes over and asks what and why are we still here? We explained that everyone else said that we have to wait on the coroner. She said you have been here the whole time? We said yes. She immediately called for someone to move my mom to a quiet room where we would be able to have some peace. On top of that, she told us that we did not have to wait for the coroner. On top of all that...My mom laid dead and they told us that they could not remove the breathing mask on her face, they could not remove the iv and they could not move the body to another room from the time she had passed away. There are so many more horror stories that went on at this hospital that if I have more energy another day, I will write what happened. Let me finish now by saying...in order for me to find out those few basic questions about her passing, I have to pay $35 to find out. I was there and not one nurse or one doctor could give me an answer. Absolutely pathetic. This is not something you can get over so easily and on top of it all...I am still grieving my mom. My mom was in the hospital 2 weeks prior and I barely left her side because I know the nurses and doctors don't care. I've witnessed it myself and seen others go through it. The worst experience of my life....

pinang shah

Waiting for more 20 mins at emergency window with long line up and no one is here to help.

Qasim Khan

Horrible service. I've been to three hospitals in the GTA and this one has the slowest service and very rude staff. Definitely do not encourage to go to this hospital. Had to wait 8 hours just to get a sprain checked out.

Julian Jacob

I would like to thank all the staff on the 5th floor for helping me out. I learned a lot about myself, finally! And about people as well. I loved the test, and I came to realize. I'm not a bad person after all. But a wise one. I know who I am and how to understand others. I will choose my path correctly. One day, I'll find just what I want in life. One step at a time. But If all else fails "knock on wood" please be as kind as you all are for helping me on rainy a day. Thank you for helping others as well. Also, teaching myself that life is not so bad after all. The world needs more people like you all. Thanks so much to my nurses. I needed that. Edit: That was a ride but I did it lol

amer saour

I have never encountered such caring staff, they made the whole process a great one. Such caring nurses and doctors ensured I was at ease through such a tough time.i got help from all , nice people always and i need to say thanks to all helped me in physio therapy and occupational therapy , and nurses and doctors really appreciate to all , you are doing great job there ,God bless you all .. Amer saour

Adriana Baptista

I wish i could give this hospital 0 stars. Came in to the ER with my mom for a possible hip fracture... waited 3+ hours to be triaged. My mother cannot move, she was not able to use the washroom for over 5 hours because of how short staffed this place is. On top of the short staffing issue, the nurses were extremely rude, and ignorant. I understand it is not the workers fault how short staffed they are but they can at least be respectful, and understanding. They were everything but helpful. My mother has been waiting for over 5 hours to be admitted and taken to a room from the emergency department. Do not come here unless it is life or death, and even then I would not count on it.

Johnathan Suen

It's just terrible don't even go there. It's an instant regret.

Janice M

We were seen in a timely manner which is pretty decent all things considered. However, I don’t feel that they have very good bedside manner. There was one nurse who was really good with my husband, her name was Sophie and she is the only reason for the 4 stars.

Hifzmaster

May. 2019 Renovation is on going, the former doctors offices building have been demolished and the new one is up and running, and your doctor is in that building. Multi religious room on the main floor, and a Tim Hortons. Well run, staff is quite efficient and clean. This is a bloody busy hospital, serving a zillion people from a zillion countries speaking a zillion languages, How in the world do you expect perfection? You want excellent care and you pay zilch. Come on folks, give them a break, and remember your own doctor sent you here, he can't treat you. So settle down all of you and have a coffee in Tim Horton.

Kivas Atwood

With out getting into too much detail I would advise you go elsewhere. I have been twice and each time the level of ineptitude was so great it made my head hurt. The triage nurse even boldly gave incorrect info about very, very basic medical information. The place is a death trap. Go elsewhere.

Sal Tannous

Rarely do we meet genuine amazing caring people in the hospitals here in Ontario.. me and my wife had the opportunity to meet and deal with probably the most professional and caring nurses and doctors ever in our community they took the time to explain to is about our ailments the showed us how to overcome the stress from our ailments and in the end demonstrated the true nature of an institution designed and dedicated to our well being and good health... God bless all of the staff at William Osler Hospital aka Etobicoke General Hospital....

Nakul Detroja

I have done CT Scan here and I was told my report will be sent to Doctor within a week, it's been two weeks now and my doctor still hasn't received any reports yet. I tried calling Hospital so many times and they keep transferring me from one department to another without any one looking into the issue. At the end of long chain of call transfers call goes to voice mail and that's it, I have to start from the scratch again.

evajiya03

Went to emergency for my 7 year old she having so much pain and the Asian nurse at the front desk speaks so stupid and rude. While my daughter is having to much pain stupid f lady. We go to hospital if we are having pain that something is not right that we need to be checked and to be herrassed by a piece of ! But the doctor who seen my daughter was very good examined her and was not rushing. Doctors are great there but the nurse at the front at the emergency room is a work of art

A Ali

This is by far the worse emergency room I have ever seen I’ve been here for 4 hours. Empty hospital still haven’t talked to a doctor with my real life emergency

Lily W

The staff at this hospital are rude, uncaring and lack compassion. My 82 year old mom was taken to emergency. She didn't have on her shoes, a sweater, and didn't have her purse. Due to Covid, I was not allowed in, I understand for safety reasons there are no visitors allowed, that hospital workers are overworked, stressed, tired. However, I was told I could drop off her personal effects with security and they would get them to her. The security guard wouldn't even talk to me, let alone take her stuff. I was phoning all night long to check up on her, to find out where she was, only to be transferred, put on hold and then cut off. My brother also tried calling, spoke to somebody but got no help . I then called back, and was told "only one family member can call in". What???? Maybe if just one person took the time to speak to us, followed up with us, we wouldn't keep calling, thereby freeing up their time for other scared families whose loved ones were in that place. The next morning, I got a phone call to come get my mother immediately, how long would I be, because they "needed the bed". I couldn't wait to get her out of that place. All that being said, my mom mentioned that out of all the staff she encountered, she finally got one caring nurse. I think her name is Doreen - I wish I had paid more attention to her name badge. Thank goodness for her and her kind heart.

Devil Nakhro

I am here as an emergency and waiting for registration. I don’t like hospitals in Canada.

Farhana Ali

If anyone is considering going to this hospital please read this! - Good luck finding a wheelchair - Emergency wait is very long - Most* Emergency desk nurses are very rude and have an attitude - I asked to see a nurse and no nurse would ever come - I was too weak to use the bathroom my self I pressed the assistance button and no nurse came to help me all night. - I was in so much pain for hours with a high fever and no one gave me any tylenol or pain killers, which is usually done first thing. - If you have questions they’re hardly answered - PLACE IS DISGUSTING (Blood and bodily fluids in the waiting room, on the walls and examination rooms). - Very disorganized staff - It was 3 days before I got a room - Not enough waiting rooms or chairs so patients are out in the halls. - The waiting rooms for nurses/doctors to check up on you don’t have the regular beds, but very uncomfortable examination tables where I waited for 8 hours in a room with random people going in and out. - Nurses took several hours just to check up on me. - When I asked if I was being admitted or what’s making me sick they had no answers and no one to refer to. - They misdiagnosed me telling my family I (MAY) have meningitis. Professionals are not supposed to ne unsure or give false statements on what they think it is. - From the many tests they ran in the 8 days I was there, they were unable to give me a straight answer and explain as to what was happening to me. - I was discharged 8 days after when I was still unstable and the infection still in my blood. 4 days later all my symptoms came back so I decided to go to The Humber River Hospital, where they ran tests for one day and found what was wrong almost immediately. Everything was explained in detail by the friendly staff. - The nurses never told me their names or introduced themselves. - One major incident that took place at Etobicoke General Hospital while I was staying there was one night as I was asleep a mentally unstable man had made his way into my room with no pants on but a diaper and sitting on my couch watching me as I slept. I woke up and seen him, I pressed the button to get the nurse in but no one came until the morning. I spoke to the man informing him that this was not his room and he left. In this situation what if the man was dangerous? And what if I had gotten hurt? No nurse came. The man was wondering the halls confused and alone. Clearly no nurses were keeping an eye out in the halls or taking the proper precautions in locking hall doors to prevent wandering patients. - Nurses and Doctors DO NOT CARE what so ever! If you’re looking to go to the hospital save yourself the trouble and time and skip this hospital.

Gurpreet Aulakh

They should do something to reduce the waiting time in ER, care is good , nurses and doctors are nice .

Shariah Mohammed

Started off great and fast. Needed to stay overnight. They hVe no pillows since apparently ppl steal them. Never checked on. Waited 30 minutes for someone to disconnect me to go pee. This is nuts. This little woman is head nurse is very overwhelmed and seems to have difficulties keeping up with all the patients in her section. This sucks

Zonelle Woodward

I went to get my vaccine today. It didn't take a long time because the staff was very organized from the time I meet the screener till I met the nice doctor who gave me my dose. I felt great after receiving the dose.

Nadeen Bailey

Beautiful hospital, great staff. I was very concerned though that while doing a close contact test that neither one of the technicians wore a shield, gloves or gown. According to the CSBI and CAR guideline, all staff working closely...should wear a minimum level 1 surgical masks, gowns, gloves and should strongly consider the wearing of goggle protection. The ladies that did my test only wore mask. Like I said, the staff is great but keeping patients safe should be s priority. It may be hard to wear gloves but touching patients body with your clothing is not helping to keep me safe. Maybe even a patient's gown over their clothes would help. Friendly staff.

Mazikeen Smith

What’s the point of having an appointment if you have to wait 3 hours pass your appointment time? I’ve had it with this place honestly.

Cristina M

Honestly this is probably one of the worst hospitals. Just to get register takes two hours.

rajiv prashar

The word emergency doesn't here.my baby was sick throwing up we still waited 4 hours before some saw her There was only one doctor around and he had others thing to do nurses apart from one or two were lazy arrogant and avoided any eye contact with me just incase I ask something from them by far worse service ever

judith irvine

Great Hospital my husband has been in there a few times the staff are great nurses and doctors. My husband was in for surgery on June 17th the doctor was great. Next day we had to come back at 1 to have his leg bag removed. We check in at the front desk which the people are great there. Then this volunteer came over and took my husband down to where he was to go and stayed with us until we got check in. This volunteer i forgot her name but she made my day very professional and a lovely person. I hope she goes on with her career and get into her field. Thank you all for being kind.

Humaid Chhabra

I had a pretty quick experience i was out within an hour maybe i went in the morning which is why it was not busy or maybe it was because of covid and people are avoiding unnecessary trips basically i went in to the emergency as i got a deep cut from work and needed stitches but luckily they were able to stop it from bleeding to prevent me from getting stitches the doctor was very nice and the nurse was also extremely friendly i forgot her name it starts with an m

My mom could not get any rest as her "roommate " screamed all (2 nights so far) night. The staff said they could do nothing about it. We tried to buy her a private room but they told us there were none available even though other rooms were completely unoccupied. Also, no wifi available.

Excellent brand new facility and horrible crooked staff in ER

Ben Kwan

Poor attitude from the nurses on staff, rude and miserable, worse than being in an airplane on the red eye. If you need to go to a hospital, go somewhere else. Somewhere where they will be kind and courteous, not a hospital where people act like it’s a horrible chore to help you. Asked for help everyone acted like they were to busy to answer a question. I waited at reception, there was no one working at that post. Had to find my sisters room with no help. Many of the signs and maps are covered due to the renovations. Asked many nurse for assistance and was given attitude with disdain. Shame on these employees of the hospital giving people disrespect and attitude when most people at the hospital are already going through hardships physically and emotionally. Everyone here needs training on empathy, courtesy and compassion.

Shantel Davidson

I took my mother there on Saturday due to issues breathing. They gave her nothing to help with her breather swabbed her for a Covid test. 3 days later her results for the Covid test have not come back contacted public health who stated they could not see in their systems that she had even taken a Covid test at the hospital. Tried reaching out to the hospital to get information after being placed on hold for 1hour I was told by a nurse that they don’t know where her swab from the Covid test is and they don’t know if she would be getting her results back. Worst experience in history Instead of spending all that money on rebuilding the structure of the building they need to invest it into hiring more knowledgeable and understanding staff members. I would not recommend this hospital to anyone

S j

Everytime I've been here, the service has been courteous. Waiting is a normal part of going to an emergency room because there are always higher priority people than you, i.e heart attacks, breathing problems, etc. For me, everything has gone smoothly and I don't have anything negative to say.

Jennifer Nwobosi

I like this hospital because of the clean environment but their staffs are horrible. Some times i wonder if it is their staffs that are sick not the patients because their staffs are so so so RUDE and AGGRESSIVE. Out of so many bad experience i have had at this hospital, i just experienced the most horifying one now. A female doctor had an argument with a male orthopedic technologist (silas) and the orthopedic technologist transfered the anger on me in front of my son. I don't know why this hospital is not taking this reviews seriously but i know that people won't stop talking until there is a positive change .

Edmund persad

Absolutely horrible service, my wife & I went with our 3 year old daughter. She had a high fever (39° c) & vomiting ... they had us wait almost 2 hours before seeing a doctor or seeing anyone.... smh. ...nurses are just busyet talking with co-workers rather than serving patients. ..UNBELIEVABLE

Waqas Ali

Worst hospital ever. Like if your son is bleeding from the head and you went to this emergency, you'll first have to wait at reception, then you'll get bounced from emergency to ambulatory, then you'll have to wait for doctor to have a look, then you'll have to wait for nurses to call you and after 5 hours you're still waiting and your son's head is still bleeding...

Andrew Wilson

If i had to give a rating for this hospital's "emergency dept", i would give it -6 stars! The so-called medical people they have on staff, look as though they themselves need medical attention - right from the triage services to the nurses to the doctors, etc. One would feel more sick after leaving this place. The price for parking is ridiculously high, the average wait time is over 12 hours long. This hospital needs a thorough investigation immediately! What a disgrace Canada!!

Eduardo H

been there 3 times since I broke my foot and I was impressed with the people who work there. I used to hate hospitals, but this experience makes me want to brake more bones. Mario and all the crew (doctors, nurses and housekeeping personnel) were absolutely fantastic, thank you very much for making my time in the hospital a memorable time.

Sergio Helio Acosta Solis

All my best for this really brave staff ..!! They work hardly and professionally to provide you the best experience and taking care all the safety caution. They will provide you a new mask at the main entrance asking you to sanitize your hands before taking it. Their installation are super clean. The parking lot is big enough. They gave me the best . Thank you guys you're the champions !!

iien carriere

Food is fantastic. The nurses and doctors are very kind.

I BELIEVE I CAN FRY !

Not all but majority nurses and staff are too busy to answer which makes us believe they are rude.

Naoko Miyada

Went to emergency at this hospital for the first time and was pleasantly surprised how short the visit was considering I had about 5 procedures and had to wait for results so I saw the doctor about 3 times . Got appointments very fast for a stress test , nuclear medicine test and echogram. The three gentlemen who conducted my nuclear medicine stress test explained all the details thoroughly and alleviated my fears as I had never had these procedures before. Hats off to the staff as my visit was conducted very professional on July 16. Only one more test to go.

Nancy Wagner

Family member was in your emergency department staff to busy to help. When he was discharged asked for help dressing him and was told by nurse to pretty much do it myself. He wa in a wheelchair which I had to find myself wanted to go to the washroom I asked for assistance and was told to give him a urinal. At this point I got angry and asked her to please take him to the washroom this wasn’t my job but hers.We will never use this hospital again. If I could rate your hospital lower I would. We found your hospital filthy.

George Mander

I love this hospital so much because less than a week there Diagnosed my father but the Oshawa hospital G8 couldn't find any diagnosed for 2 month something wrong with the location , staff , nurse and doctors

Mila S. Attar

Seriously How can you talk about human rights and safety when you lock people in ER for 10 hours, exposing them more and more to covid 19 and treating them with a lot of discrimination by ignore their simple questions

Jho Lee

I would give 0 star if I could.Letting people wait for 10 hours is unacceptable. Some nurses are rude and when u ask them a question they just brush u off and tells u to sit down and wait.I went on Wednesday because of my pregnancy cramps and the ob asked me why I went to the emergency. They toId me come back on Monday cause they’re suspecting it was an ectopic pregnancy but they also messed up the with schedule. This hospital needs a proper management.

Jamil Hassan

having great experience .. Dr. Rachel is professional. She has been so good. giving excellent service. Thank you soo much.

MELISSA ABBATTISTA

I admitted myself to the ER on Friday as I had internal bleeding. Upon registration my body went into shock and I fainted. I was scared for my life but the entire emergency team saved my life. They were my angels that day and did everything in their power to help me. Dr. Esti Friedman performed the surgery and she gave me faith and hope that I was going to be okay. Thank you to the entire nursing staff and surgerons that day for helping me, may god bless you all as I will always remember what you did for me...my life was in your hands and you all saved me.

Satinder Kaur

Great hospital and great staff. Doctors and nurses are so nice and they are so polite. They will treat you with proper care. This hospital was my last hope because no one try to listen to my problem. The neurology department has the best team and doctors. I really appreciate their efforts and their treatment which they gave to me. I will strongly recommend anyone to visit this hospital.

Kristina Shuttlesworth

I came to this hospital because 10 years ago I gave birth to my daughter here and it went well. However, I had my son hear 10 years later and I was very disappointed. God bless a nurse named Andrea she was in my room with me helping me prepare for my son's birth I was going into labor. She made my first half experience very helpful .she definitely took alot of stress and worries away from me. She assured me everything was okay and was just there for me. However, when she told me I was switching rooms and she left work everything went downhill. My son was born a bit early and he was in a nursery room his room was very clean and staff were nice. However where I was placed in a recovery room it was disgusting! It was over crowded. There were bloody pads all over the washroom I was totally disgusted. I complained to a staff on duty and she basically said there's nothing she could do but get the janitor to clean the washroom . 1 hour later the bathroom is still filthy . The room was full of fruit flies .I couldn't breathe properly. like how could a room with people who just gave birth be so disgusting. My husband told me we should of went to Brampton civic ..but I was very thankful for Andrea . This recovery room felt like prison .... minus babies crying all the time I don't mind that . I just wish the place was kept cleaner .complelty turned off . I cannot wait till I can leave the premises in less than 12 hours .my son will be released in one day . Thank the Lord . This hospital is filthy in the recovery room for mothers and it's a shame .

Maribel Perez

Im very unhappy , unsatisfied , dissapointed and mad. This is probably the worse hospital ive ever been in , I'm trying to file a complaint on to this because this hospital seems so unorganized , why ? Ill explain why. The reason for my emergency was for my grandmother who was not feeling well and was not able to even breathe. At the start the nurse was super nice but as soon my grandma got in to wait for the doctor , the nurse didnt pay attention to us even when we called them because my grandma felt pain , they just told us to wait for the doctor. They took her blood test an hour later and made her pee in a cup and we held the pee cup the whole time and they didnt pay attention to that. When the doctor finally came , he had a little atittude with us because i was trying to translate some certain words to spanish to english. Im understating that it must be a hard for doctors and such so, but its your job. I was already irretated with the doctor , and the ambient was even worse. One of the ladies that clean the hospital just started throwing like the garbage box and she just seemed to mad to be working that made the ambient even worse. Ive been in different hospitals myself and i just feel this was the worse one i have ever been. There was a pantient who had a big cut and im guessing the patient waited really long that he just started bleeding and no one was paying attention. He went directly to the doctor , knowing that he was bleeding and needed medical attention , the doctor told him to wait. Please fix this, people who come the hospital are already distress and in pain. All you guys gotta do is make us feel comfortable like we are important to you.

wansela Adam

Super slow service in the emergency department and lack of staff. People dying there to see the doctor. Some staff leave the the building for smoke.

Merve Kutuk

I cant thank enough to the labour and delivery department Such friendly staff. I felt so welcomed and cared for . Thank you Dr. Friedman for welcoming my baby girl to the world and nurse Joanna and Nicola!! You guys are awesome Really love this hospital!! Also need to mention how clean and organized here is.

Worst Hospital

J J

Best nurses in the day surgery!!!

Dabby Wali party

Worst place and unprofessional staff. I had my c-section there, no one from my family or friends was there by my side or even in canada to help me out and cherry on the cake the misconduct of assigned nurse. I was in depression and her attitude made me feel like hell. Thinking about my next treatment there, is literally a nightmare for me.

Carole Sisto

My husband was taken by ambulance to emergency at The Etobicoke General and in about a half hour he was changed and lying in a bed and his health concern was being handled. The excellent new emergency facilities are well designed and provide private rooms. The staff were very good but there are shortages of staff everywhere in medicine due to government underfunding so waiting becomes inevitable. My husband had excellent care by the emergency staff and attending physician and this continued when he was transferred from emergency to a regular room and had Dr. Hu work to solve his issues. She contacted his other doctors and pursued solutions. He is home now with appropriate medications and information for followup. My concerns with the hospital were mainly due to inadequate communication while he was there. ( ps. His health card was lost in emergency)

KJ Chung

Horrible hospital. Unfortunately it doesnt give the option to assign zero stars, which is why i have to give 1 which is the minimum. They are always late and behind. It doesnt matter whether or not if you have an appointment, you will wait minimum an hour. I would never come back here ever again.

Stephen Fernandes

Could not walk (still can't) after tearing multiple ligaments in my knee. For 3 nights I stayed here and nurses were great but then day 4 they suddenly determined "I wasn't critical" anymore because I wasn't making the nurses do every little thing for me. Long story short they kicked us out without any communication on how I need to care for myself and my knee which is literally hanging off 1 ligament. We had to ask them things they should've been telling us. They couldn't even bring me a wheelchair..they made my girlfriend go down and find one. My poor girlfriend was holding 5 bags and my crutches, while trying to push me on a wheelchair as they just stood around and literally watched her struggle down the hallway. She took me all the way out to the car in the pouring rain. I have a lot of friends/family who work as nurses or paramedics and they are disgusted with the service we received. According to them, they aren't surprised as Etobicoke General seems to have this reputation. They lack proper communication and processes to determine patient priority. They tell me not to let my leg touch the ground while using crutches when my leg is literally hanging by a tendon with the added weight of a splint. I wont bad mouth the nurses (aside from the last day)...overall they were attentive, friendly and caring.

Gaurav Seeder

The Staff at this hospital did a phenomenal job! I was in urgent need of stitches and upon recognizing my severe injury they expedited my check in, and had me sat on a chair awaiting the doctor who came within minutes. 2 staff members were on their way home but made the decision to operate on my hand before leaving. Everything happened so fast that my coworkers were surprised I was back at work later that night!

Delores Rependa

My very first time here , impressed very nice emergency Dr very attentive and helps you with your pain very quickly to help you keep at ease but the problem was I was in a lot of pain and wasn't offered anywhere to lay down I was stuck sitting in a chair all night and had to wait for CT scan which I got done at 7 this morning Iwas still in a lot of pain and was told I had to go back and register again to get my results by that time I decided to leave because I couldn't stand or sit anymore with the pain and discomfort I don't understand why I wasn't give somewhere to lay down to keep me comfortable I now cannot get my results apparently until my family Dr gets the report I'm so upset I was there almost five hours in such discomfort and pain n now I'm told I would have to go back n do the process all over again,

Phoenix M

I had my delivery in this hospital, I didn't have a good experience and received absolutely no support for breastfeeding. I would not recommend this hospital for delivery.

Terrace McChristie

I know someone who almost died of a 39 extra strength tylenol overdose in this hospital. Hes still alive and has a BP of 120 over 83 right now.

Yasir Noor

The worst hospital ever in my life and any country I lived or visited or even hear about. Cruel and threatening staff. Lack of expertise, communication and sharing of information.

William Gibson

Triage signage could be more clear, the multiple windows are very far apart, it is very confusing for first-timers. I also couldn't tell if I should register before getting in line (would make sense but is wrong). The second waiting area could use a few more chairs, a lot of people had to stand. Otherwise fairly pleased. Good staff, clean and organized.

sam

I have very bad experience in the hospitals , my wife had delivery on saturday night, the nurse who was delivering the baby was so so so rude, earlier we were told not to push untill the doctor comes as doctor was busy in emergency, we understand that. But the nurse shift changed and the new chinese nurse was so rude , first of all we are not able to understand her, secondly she was so rude that my wife was so upset during the labor. Her name is CHUNG beaware from that nurse if you are going to deliver baby in this hospital. In This hospital twice the baby feeding classes were cancelled. There was no doctor if this hospital for hearing test for the new born. This hosptal is in the top among the worse hospitals. They dont care for u at all. Caring is none for there bussiness. Nurses are just here to make money thats it they are only concerend about their paycheque.

Lynette Nissen

What a horrible ER department. My father-in-law went in to the emergency department for problems breathing. Was admitted for "mild dehydration" and kept over night. The next day, I went to visit him. In eight hours of visiting him in the ER, not a sign of any doctor or any update on his condition. Finally I had to put my foot down and literally demand an update from a nurse and also ask her when a doctor would be in to see him. Do yourselves a favor and avoid this ER at all costs and go to another emergency department at another hospital, unless you don't mind going a whole day in the ER and no doctor even checking on you. My advice to this hospital - have more doctors in the ER and take the time to update patients on their condition.

Mubaraz Ahmed

First time being too a hospital made me wait 6 hours+ in pain this is the worst experience at this point I might as well not have visited and just lived with my pain

Roger Harrison

Your switch board does not work. It asked me to hit a number to pick a hospital multiple times. My 7 year old son could have designed a better system. Has anyone ever tested it?

Sheeman Barakzai

Went for drive thru Covid test, around 11am on a Monday. Was in and out super fast. Staff were really friendly and supportive. Bring a pen with you and go early. Bring your health card. Porta potties there if you need. Got my results back next day in the afternoon online. Solid experience. Good luck.

Debbie Arscott

Management needs to come and clean out this hospital (or perhaps, it is management that is the issue!). The emergency dept. was great at answering the phone....BUT the 10th floor needs more than work! You can be on hold for more than 28mins and still nobody acknowledges there is somebody holding. If you dare call back and complain about being on hold, which both me and my mother did from different phones and being in different homes, we were bluntly told that the nurses are busy and giving out medication, or attending to patients! I know came to understand that the nurses on the 10th floor are not able to multi-task and have minimal or NO professionalism when talking to patients families on the phone. I was literally abused verbally by a nurse on Saturday morning for even asking there name, which in the end I did not get! During COVID times, the family members have no other recourse than to phone in to the hospital to inquire about a patient that is not able to speak for themselves (as the case for my brother)!

Denise H

The staff, and ER doctor were amazing. Super short waiting time too! Thank you for your services!

Ariadna Lorenc

Last night my daughter was brought to emergency by police after severe maniac episode, breakdown. She had extreme paranoia, moods from crying to laughing. During that period she can be manipulative, which was not recognized by "professionals". She was sent back home with us,also nobody talk to us asking about her symptoms or what happened. Police was very helpful and sympathetic, which I am thankful.

Crystal Celene

If you can avoid it DO NOT RECIEVE CARE HERE! My experience was horrible. Firstly, when I entered the ER they were understaffed so a triage nurse had to insert my IV she kept complaining about how she wasn't supposed to be there and how it wasn't her job. When I complained about her hurting me while taking my blood she got upset and started giving me attitude. I have had my blood taken many times to know she wasn't doing it with care. Then when it was time to insert my IV she pricked me with the needle 4 times in my right arm, 5 times in my left arm, and twice in the top of my left hand and still said she couldn't find a vein. I have never ever had a nurse have trouble finding my veins because my veins arm huge and bright green in my arms. The way she pushed the needle in my arm and kept pushing deeper she seemed to be takinging her anger out on me. She should be fired or confined to her area. If she is supposed to be a triage nurse don't have her putting IVs in patients because not only did she butcher me but she complained that she wasn't supposed to be there several times. As a patient that is not my problem. My mother then complained and a male nurse came and apologized, he inserted my I've the first try! He said how can you see in this dark hallway bring her into the light. It turned out that I needed an emergency appendectomy. After my surgery I was told that i needed to drink water on my own so I wouldn't be getting any IV. After recieving my first cup of water after surgery I had buzzed my nurse 3 times and had no answer, asked 3 different staff members coming in and out of my room for water and no one returned with it even though they said they would and only when my surgen came to check on me hours later and saw how dehydrated I was did he go and find my nurse and get me water. Never in my entire life have I felt so neglected, my forehead started to peel and I had not one drop of siliva to coat my throat. It's now 7 days after my surgery and I still have serious bruising on my hand from the triage nurse attempting to put my IV in and pain in my vein on my hand. It feels like I have nerve damage in my hand but I'll be going to the doctors to check and find out exactly what is going on. Bottom line is if it's not an emergency DON'T GO HERE. The hospital is severely understaffed and therefore patients are really neglected.

Michelle Haines

The worst hospital DO NOT go there.

Rattandeep kaur

Very very bad experience. All nurses and doctors are very rude. They do not know how to treat the patients. I went there 2 to 3 times..my condition was very bad but they didn't give any attention. Very careless staff. They treat the patients like an animal.

immi

I was admited here doctors are good but nursing staff will not help you atall..specially nurse ERIC was rude and intentially ignored me during my pain and unplug IV for so long when i noticed and informed supervisor after a lot of struggle and pain she came and started for me..please i request to train or monitor nurse ERIC because of him someone can loss life..

Amo D

Worst hospital in Canada, triage takes 1 hour just to even show whats wrong with you. I can imagine people dying while waiting and these employees just talking and eating. This dont make sense how this is an emergency entrance, this is why i try my best just to go to urgent care.

Orsolya Finesz

Great hospital. Was brought here via ambulance and stayed about a week. The nurses, doctors and specialists were all very attentive and helpful. I have returned to several tests and outpatient programs and have the same sentiment - the individuals care and put the time into helping find the cause of your health issues and promptly share this information with your family doctor. Having been to emergency, MRI, EEG. ECG, lab and outpatient I would say that this is a very good hospital.

Gima Younen

Best hospital so far we didn't wait at all, doctor was courteous , honestly way better than Brampton civic hospital.

Alex Mcallister

Dr. Tyagi is horrible it’s better you get no treatment than get anything from him. Likely to make you sick so he can book for more money. You get assigned to him leave and go somewhere else.

Shauna Tindall

My husband was seen here for a medical eval after experiencing a problem while flying on Air Canada. The staff were friendly and caring. This is clearly a very busy Emergency Department. They do not have enough rooms for the volume of patients. The facility is old and looks very tired. Despite all this, the medical and support staff were upbeat and got my husband evaluated in a timely fashion. They were familiar with the procedures required by Air Canada and we were discharged within 5 hours, not bad for an emergency evaluation. Thanks to all of you for a job well done.

Victoria Elliot

My first visit via ems. Paramedics were great and refused to have me put in a chair to wait . They insisted on a bed and got one within 15 minutes. The nurses taking care of me were wonderful on 9. The ER was hectic, and YES, I waited 26 hours for a bed, but I won't complain. Better than some other hospitals and I can say that from experience. I know not everyone will have a good experience, but I did, and I am pleased to praise those who helped me for their dedication and care.

Justina Cutrara

Husband went in for pain on his right side at 5:30pm. Took all sorts of test and before midnight he was diagnosed with appendicitis. A full 26 hours later he goes in for surgery. Ridiculous!!! Appendix bursting is extremely dangerous. He was drugged up during the entire time. In waiting room and than in a gurney in the emergency hallway for hours before being moved to a room than finally into the OR. Run down, unsanitary, not by enoughf or the volume of traffic this hospital receives. My opinion, it needs to be shut down, renovated and expanded and than reopened. I don't know how it passes health inspections. Plus the cafeteria and facilities are horrendous.

Angelica Mahabir

If I could make it 0 stars I would. Horrible service. Horrible wait. Big time wasters! Go to any other hospital. Ask anyone they will have a horror story for you about Etobicoke General.

samuel luke

Horrible horrible horrible Covid treatment. They’re letting people get worse. They are silent killers. If you have corona, go to this hospital so they make sure your health becomes worse and worse.

Vivian Chang

EXCELLENT SERVICE THE NURSES ARE VERY POLITE

Tasha M

I had a baby at this hospital and the nurses and doctors were just GREAT. The doctors were honest and gave me their best advice. I felt comfortable to ask questions, no matter how ridiculous they seemed. The nurses were SO knowledgeable. They were personable, helping and went above and beyond every time they dealt with us. As being first time parents, we had lots of questions and the nurses were there to help (ie, showing us how to swaddle, bathing a baby, breast-feeding, letting us know when the lactation consultant was in). Nurses even visited us after their shifts to make sure we were doing okay. I had to have a C-section and had very little knowledge of the procedure however everything was explained out. I was introduced to every person who took part in the surgery, and my baby and my health and safety was the #1 concern. The only complaint I do have was the semi-private rooms were tiny! On our first night with our new bundle of joy, my husband had to sleep in a normal chair, barely able to fit in to our little section. If you have to spend the night, I'd suggest asking for a private room. I will tell anyone I know to go to this hospital when having their baby, the staff was amazing!!!

Sajid Ali

If you got admitted in 8th floor nobody will attend you even you ring or cry it's even worse if ERIC nurse will come to you.they almost hit me..please there is any huminity check these nurses..they are giving more pain to patients.

Steven Parker

It is quite disconcerting to hear of people suffering, in pain, in distress, and even dying at the hands of incompetent doctors and medical staff at this place. Absolutely no kindness, empathy, or basic care is displayed, even if matters are out of the hands. An election is coming up, and not even these candidates are addressing these issues. All you ever hear them talking is transit, pot, or blaming other or previous governments - no one taking responsibility for what is at hand. I am ashamed to call myself Canadian and tell people I am from Canada for this reason. It is both disappointing and disgusting. We need to stand up to this nonsense once for all and demand better!

Abigail Camacho

The nurses rather have a conversation amongst themselves then help a patient out.

Akash Desai

An absolute joke to be in this emergency

Uditha Galgamuwa

Doctors are unprofessional. Nurses are rude and doesn’t know what they are doing. I went with my wife for twin baby delivery. They discharged her without proper post delivery diagnosis ( my wife continuously mentioned that she is having swollen legs which she didn’t have during her pregnancy) After 2 days, we had to spend more than 7 hrs in the emergency (keeping our new born twins and elder son at home). We were sent to the Diagnostic Imaging and they were referred by the Emergency to do an Ultra Sound for twin pregnancy ( after mentioning several times that we are here for swelling legs after C-Section). We had a really good experience when we deliver our first child in Kansas, USA. If we had experienced what we experienced in this hospital, we wouldn’t have thought of a second baby.

Sameera Ahmadzai

The overall service is pretty good but yes the waiting time is a bit too much

Shahram Myavaghi

Hi there We had a chance to stay in William osler for 5 days for my wife. Just letting you know that people that are work there are fantastic . Very caring ,friendly on time for your needs. I want to thank them again . Mahsa

Arsh Biring

I wish I could give this place a 0 star. We have been trying to get in touch my dad for the entire day now. We were told the nurse would call us but we never heard back. I have been put on hold and let there many times today with such long hold times. So inappropriate and unethical.

Gloria Turner

Hospital building (floors, rooms) need extensive cleaning. Rooms need a complete over haul. Nurse on duty for my mother ignored my concerns & my mother suffered from a high fever for several hours. Vitals not taken until shift change & I complained about my mother's care. Patient in other bed had tube in nose which she pulled out. Nurse threw in garbage. When they couldn't find another tube they used the one in garbage.

DAVID Alexander

Speaking on my experience (3 broken ribs), everyone I dealt with was extremely attentive. Really appreciate the care I received in the ER from all nurses and doctors.

Hina Arsalan

I recently delivered my baby at this hospital. The nurse in the labor room was great, however the nurse in the room wasn't helpful at all. She kept saying this is your second child so you know everything already. I wasn't provided with any lactation support. I felt my milk supply was low and my child was put on formula. No one was there to guide and help me. Had there been some support I would have been able to breastfeed my child better.

bandit thakkar

In emergency, when my wife is bleeding a lot, they made us wait for more than an hour. Nurse dint even know what she was doing. Never going to come back again...

Ling Kao

Visited for a job interview. Made observations of service and environment of hospital. Small parking spaces. Unclean lobby. Reception did not know where Environmental Services department was, had to ask security. Reception was otherwise generous. Lobby area was outdated and smelled horribly. Interviewer in Environmental Services stated I that I came to the interview on the wrong day. Interviewer, Maggie from Environmental Services, suggested that I was lying to her. During the interview, she wanted me to 'confess' that I was 'lying' to her, in order that she can document it. She instructed that I call HR to find out if I got the job or not, rather them calling me. Called HR to inquire, HR department was rude on the phone. HR agent let out an irritated sigh when I inquired about status of job application then proceeded to transfer me to a voicemail, never received a call back. Called Environmental Services to speak with Maggie, person receiving the phone call in that department at the time slammed the phone down to hang up every time I said hello. On the third attempt, quickly said, "Maggie please," person on phone responded with a yell, "WHAT DO YOU WANT?!" Quite horrible staff at this hospital if you have employees having the lobby unclean and being rude on the phone and bullying you into falsely confessing a lie.

Tammy Rempel

I have the utmost respect for our medical community. I find most of the staff to be quite helpful and professional. However, perhaps more training about not shaming a patient in a lot of pain for wanting their pain medication is necessary. Then this morning Nurse Doreen came in my room like a burst of sunshine. The most caring and professional lady that has restored my faith in the care that is given at this hospital.

Neda Kalan

Worse health care service i have ever received! Wait time is too long for no reason. Nurse are kind and hard working. However the lab tech and the docs are the worst! The lab tech had his headphones in and kept yelling asking my name (he heard it wrong anyways) if I did not insist he was gonna poke me and label as of someone else. Finally it came the time to see the doc, he answered his phone while assessing me and left the room with no explanation. Then he went and took another patient to another room came back 15 mins later and said it was emergency! No apology and no explanation! At the end he did not bother to check what i was referred to ER FOR! Overall waste of my time going there !!!

It's not even worth any star. The nurses are so arrogant all the time treating patients with no respect. Emergency waiting time is too much if the person has really emergency they will make the person wait they do not care if the person get worse Recommending this place to know one

Geetha Rodrigo

I wonder why different hospital have different visitor policies in Ontario. I understand that there are Public Health Restrictions in place, but how come it does not apply to some hospitals in the region and at least one (same) visitor is …

Saira Mallick

Majority of the nurses here are terrible! Some of the doctors here lack basic manners.

Leo Alvez

This place needs to be considered a walk in rather than an emergency clinic. Takes hours for the registration and bouncing around from room to room with nurse/staff asking you the same questions while receiving no actual medical intervention.Prolonging the treatment can make an emergency situation deadly. Extremely disappointed with the staff and how the hospital is managed. No regard to the patients time, health and mental wellbeing.

Shane Romario

Worst hospital ever! I was in pain but they didn't gave me pain killer & i waited for doctor more than 12 hours

Raul Sierra

I was last night 9-22-2017 the service over there it's poor and bad

sara lee

I would rather die than come here again. Emergency physicians are in competent. This place smells and is dirty. Patients are being assessed in hallways.

Dante Menardino

TERRIBLE. Arrived there from Pearson Airport with chest pains by ambulance (because it's the closest hospital to the airport) This is a perfect example of how immigrants from third world countries are making this country exactly like the countries they came from. They make up 99% of the nursing and other staff at this hospital and they are IGNORANT, unprofessional, rude, inconsiderate and completely apathetic. The emergency room was filthy dirty, with stretchers crammed in length wise side by side, it resembled more of a trauma army tent in the middle of a conflict than any modern day medical facility. DO NOT LET YOUR LOVED ONES GO TO THIS HOSPITAL.

Alycia Ali

WORST HOSPITAL I have ever been to. I have had no choice to go to this hospital as it is the closest one for emergencies. I have made the decision to NEVER GO THERE AGAIN!!! Wait times are UNBELIEVABLE. I have had my charts lost MULTIPLE times, the nurses had me waiting (on multiple occasions) unseen and untreated for hours until I had to get up to see what was going on, and my charts were lost. I had been sitting there for 5 hours plus with an open wound, this is something a nurse had helped me with- did not need a doctor. Recently I had gone there (after renovations) to emergency only to find rude/unhappy and unhelpful staff. I had seen the treatment of different people being treated differently (some treated rude and roughly). The emergency nurses were not helpful at all and rude to 90% of people who had asked them questions. The public is sick and there for help not to deal with a rude worker that does not want to be there. Personally I would rather drive or have an ambulance take me to another hospital despite their current upgrades. The staff and service has never changed. THE DOCTOR we had seen had dismissed other related problems with the reason of being there and not fully treated the person I was there with after waiting 4+ hours for the 1 doctor to come back to the emergency room. Results were there waiting for hours and when the doctor came back he had said just to go home and "rest" and did not even address the other issues. As the only accessable place to go to emergency, this place is horrible. This happened to my family and I more than 3 times. Complete waste of our time and energy. Where are we supposed to get proper health care???

Mandeep Dhami

This hospital do not care elderly patients sincerely.

Ashish Patel

Thank you to the nurses and doctors who helped my father!

One of the worst hospitals in the GTA!! If you can avoid this hospital, do so! 1.The wait times are 5 plus hours. I've been here on 5 different occasions and it's the same thing everytime. I wish I could take pictures but it's prohibited. 2. The waiting rooms are over filled, people had no option but to sit on the floor because you don't want to risk not hearing your name being called when it's your turn. 3. I was admitted and had to sleep in a hallway for 3 days because there were no rooms available. 4. The washrooms on the 1st floor are disgusting. I had to go to the 2nd floor with my IV pole in my arm to find a nice private washroom. 5. They are always short staffed so when you need a nurse or doctor, you won't be able to get one for anywhere between 1 to 3 hours. I spoke to a doctor and was informed that this is one of the best hospitals in the province and most hospitals have double the wait time. Since I have no proof of this, I raise it by one star with a final 3 stars

Monique V.

Doctor referred me to their mental health outpatient program. Never received a call from them. Ignored my messages and phone calls. One year later still nothing. It took a mental health crisis for me to finally get the help i needed from a DIFFERENT hospital. No thanks to this one. Unreliable. This is our health care system.

My spouse took my 2 year old with pneumonia to the Emerge there. Doctors put a catheter on my 2 year old without offering a urine collection bag first, resulting in the worst fungal infection and now a rash all over. After 12 hours with 2 year old in the ER, we were told they have no hospital room for us and were offered a transfer to a different hospital in the middle of the night, transfer that never came! At noon the second day we finally got a room. My little one is terrified of doctors/nurses following the impersonal, just get it done constant prodding and temperature checking, just to be able to send us home sooner. While I appreciate he was treated, a catheter on a 2 year old with a chest infection was not necessary. Of all doctors, nurses met there there is only one who was personable and kind: Wan in pediatrics.

Anthony Khan

These guys almost killed me . I had ruptured appendix and these fools told me its gas, went to humber river and was admitted for a week for appendicitis !!! If i wouldve listened to these idiots id be dead

R A

For “Emergency Room,” I can tell you you’ll be waiting there for hours and hours and lucky to see an incompetent doctor end of the visit who will not give you a clear diagnosis but provide medication to temporarily mask the real issue. Why call it ER if a patient is in critical condition or in need a immediate medical assistance? The manner in which I was treated will definitely not be tolerated a second time around as this is my first and LAST visit. I HIGHLY do NOT recommend. Go elsewhere please.

mortgages

An overall horrible place. Why do the nurses on the surgery recovery floor have a crazy patient in the hallway screaming and yelling 24 hours a day? Yes I understand it's "mental illness" and she has a right to be on that floor, because she also had some surgery at some point in time. But the nurses are lazy - instead of keeping that patient in her room (translation - more work for the nurses), they stick her in the hallway so it's easier for them to keep an eye on her. The nurses are also great at giving you attitude and are ready for a fight when you complain. Yes she has rights, but do these rights supersede the rights of the 100 other patients on that floor suffering in pain and also recovering from surgery, and trying to get some rest, which was impossible? This woman was literally screaming 24/7, and the nurses and their supervisor kept saying we're looking for a solution. This went on for weeks, and there was no solution sought. This does not happen at other hospitals. I know from experience. A "One flew over the Cuckoo's Nest" experience. I would never recommend this hell hole to anybody, unless it's to my enemies. And a note to Patient Care, who try to show on this board that they care - I'm not interested in filling out your form and contacting you. You did nothing for me when it counted.

Seema Sohail

had to wait and tolerate my excruciating pain for 6+ hours. The staff is extemely rude and did not even care to arrange a bed!

Lisa Danese

Terrible experience as a family member. It’s the worst for communication during this time when visits are virtually nonexistent. Your loved one will be depressed and isolated. Our family gets very little feed back as to treatment that our mom is receiving. She does not speak much English. We have tried numerous times to reach her floor manager and after 2 weeks, we still have had no response. We will be thrilled when she is discharged!!

richard lochan

We have been in line here since 10:15am its 11:05am and there is no triage nurse at the emergency desk. My wife has a breathing problem and there was nobody around to ask for help. What kind of hospital is this?

Nathaniel Dacosta

Seems like this hospital gets all the nurses that other hospitals will not hire. Particularly the nurses in ICU. They seem like they dislike their jobs and just dont like people in general. You would expect a nurse to love helping people. It's a sad thing when a health care facility has so many similar reviews!:(

safi safi

The best hospital I’ve ever seen in Canada the doctors and nurses are so helpful thanks a lot for treating us like a queen I really love this hospital

faiza hameed

I am a Physician, working in Ontario, My mother in law (Bano)was admitted for an emergency surgery at Etobikoke General. Post operatively became very sick and was transferred to the ICU. She was under the care of Dr Chowdhary. My mother in law and Our family was so happy with the exceptional care she got from the ICU staff . Dr Chowdhary and the nursing staff ( Joan, Alley, Malika, Beena, Gurpreet, and the others whose name I am not sure )provided her with such care that she decided not to be transferred to the hospital where I am a staff at. Hopefully she will continue to get the same care on the medica ward where she will be transferred in 1-2 days

ShelleyRafiq Bhabha

Older hospital but great staff, right from the second we got there, security came right out with a wheelchair to help. Friendly, unpretentious and calming staff. Just what you need on a stressful situation. Kudos

Ali Akber

Wait time in the er was alot but staff was nice and friendly Doctor was v helpful

Reena Kadri

The management is William Olser.. same as Brampton Civic. That’s why this hospital is terrible as Brampton Civic. A pro was the doctor saw me quick when I had heart trouble at around 3 am. After tests, the doctor changed. The new doctor told me “you are coming down with something” and sent me home with no medication, diagnosis, etc. X ray took a very long time to do and they had a student doing them under supervision who was extremely slow. The supervisor did not step in at all. Nurses were nice at least compared to Brampton Civic, that’s why this got 2 stars and not 1.

Alden Menzalgy

Great hospital so far, long waiting time but they gave my son a separate room with a screen/Internet. The staff is super reapectful and cooperative!

Anna C

I had to be induced during my pregnancy and unfortunately, I did not have a great birthing experience at this hospital. On my first night, my nurse basically shamed women who required an epidural and even shamed women for having children in their 30s. Then she mentioned how some women have perfect pregnancies but then lose their babies at the very end of pregnancy. I requested a nurse change. The majority of the nurses were wonderful and the doctors were knowledgeable, however, when you are in labour or trying to sleep overnight, they allow what sounds like a thousand people to walk around the hallways, visiting or whatever they were doing, even at 4am in the morning. I was basically told off by one nurse when I developed very high blood pressure after being in labour for over 14 hours and she said: you need to sleep! Ignore the beeping machines and go to sleep! It was so rude and how can anyone sleep when you allow loud annoying people outside the labour rooms, yelling and letting their 500 kids run around. When I finally had to be admitted for a c-section after 2 nights of being at that hospital, my surgeon was excellent and did an amazing job delivering our baby. Postnatal care was a better experience. I spoke about my concerns prior to being induced, but was not heard once induction was started. I felt that many medical interventions were used that did not have to be used. In the end, I will choose NOT to deliver at this hospital ever again. If you do, I hope you have a midwife who can advocate for you.

T Giffen

Don't waste your time - When calling, the rude and impatient switch board will patch you through to random departments because they cut you off before you can say: "I'm looking for the -". When you finally get there - the staff would rather chit chat than attend to you. The worst hospital and staff is right here, in this hospital.

Delia Añez

The place needs a lot of renovation and at least minimum cleanliness standards. They misplace the patients papers in emergency and ended up staying for around 12 hours with just a referral.

Martha Milone

Very good Hospital. I had many procedures there. Front desk personal are very friendly. Doctors and nurses , very helpful. …

Daljit Kaur

Really it’s bad experience no one cares for babies if we don’t have an appointment there.

Mala Selvachandran

Great hospital and excellent service. And friendly nurses.

Maria De Zorzi

I want to thank Etobicoke General Hospital for the care my mother in law received. From the emergency department, the wonderful nurses and compassionate doctors that treated her during her stay and subsequent passing. Top notch.

Seongho Lim

THIS HOSPITAL SHOULD BE CLOSED. THE MISTREATMENT HAS TO STOP. I asked why I was being involuntarily admitted and all they could say was “Because you’re sick.” The nurse forced treatment on me while I begged them not to touch my body. My wife had no idea that I was being admitted and they did not explain to her what was happening with me. The staff also had security watching my wife in the waiting room. According to the Ontario Mental Health Act document given to me at the hospital I could ,”Contact a lawyer without delay.” I told them that I want to speak with a lawyer and contact my country’s embassy since I’m a Korean national. I was denied access to these services during the admission process. My family in Korea was unable to reach me for 72hours and my wife who was born in Canada could not communicate with my family as they do not speak english. I have sufficient evidence to file a lawsuit for medical negligence and discrimination. I’m asking for an apology in order to progress in my PTSD recovery which was the direct result of the “care” I received at this hospital.

Cindy Romero

By far the worse hospital I've been to. Negligent and the staff is very rude. I DO NOT recommend this place whatsoever. Go somewhere else. Don't waste your time

Lisa DE Cicco

This is the worst hospital I have ever been to. Emergency is a joke. They do a first come first serve. Not who need the most care first.

Mojhi Osui

Better. Than Brampton.

Sola Risa

Expensive parking. Avoid this place unless you are in a real emergency situation

John Cj

My friend admitted in this hospital and started treatment unfortunately she was a international student and didn’t had a insurance on that time because she just arrived.Hospital charged 600 dollar and ct scan payment .Then they told her to wait for results meanwhile they gave glucose. Then they told she needs a treatment and want to admit but they didn’t had that much money to pay daily 2000 dollar for ward.So they left hospital.one day hospital team called her and told they charged 2850 dollar even without her treatment. Is it hospital ethics?

Isha Dade

Wasn't a great experience. Staff is not understanding and service is very very slow. Improvement is needed

Atlético Futbol

This is the absolute worst hospital. Be expected to wait 8 hours for blood work, scan and the results. The ladies are all terribly rude as well to top off the insanely horrible hospital.

Roman Chamczuk

My 95 yr old mom was admitted with a fractured neck and pelvis from a fall. It was determined by the attending orthopedic surgeon, that no surgery could be done. My mom decided that she could not endure another bout of rehab (2 knee replacements , a broken hip and other aged ailments). The entire staff on the 8th floor have been the most courteous and compassionate professionals that I have ever encountered with my mom. From the doctors to the social services to the incredible nurses. We couldn’t have asked for a better lot of angels. Thank You forever, Roman

Andrew Gnanasekaram

A big thank you to all our healthcare workers!

Monty Tayara

I must say, still the worst. Especially sitting here for 7 hours just to see the staff enjoying there social time and talking about all the fun they have while patients are waiting in so much pain. On top of that imagine having the doctor tell you "sorry, I forgot about you" on top of THAT, where are the cleaners and why is there blood splatters and filth all over the floor in the waiting room for the past 7 hours

Joy Love

I will never go back there again. I spent the entire day there in Severe, excruciating pain and spasm. I was deliberately made to wait at every possible opportunity and treated extremely rudely and very disrespectfully. If this is the level of medical care there, our health and welfare are in extremely serious condition. This is unacceptable.

Melissa Freake

I love this place clean very comfortable also the communication is clear and I would recommend this hospital for anyone. I will be returning.

Alistair Corney

Hopefully this hospital improves. I took my wife there and had to pay as she wasn't covered by OHIP at the time, which was fine. However, the doctor prescribed a medication that we had specifically told him she was allergic to, which the pharmacist fortunately caught when we went to get the prescription filled. A week or two later, we received an additional Bill from the hospital ($100) after already paying $600 at the hospital. Due to the experience we had, I went back and forth with them and they eventually agreed to cancel the $100 invoice as we obviously had a basis to push for more. Now a year later, we started getting calls from a collections agency about an outstanding $100 invoice! To make things worse, they are going to report it to the credit bureau shortly and the hospital won't even return calls (even taking into account the 2 business days they say they will return calls in). Service isn't all bad, but don't expect any "Care"

Sam S

Very kind nurses, doctors and technicians. Fast an effective testing. Good communication. Very short wait times than expected. Nice new facility. Highly recommend as when I get sent here by walk in clinic I feel like all my needs are addressed and more. Very thorough and nothing feels rushed.

Laksh Preet

Worst hospital ever, the staff is not willing to help anyone and only thing they can do is send you to places and make you wait. They have so much attitude.

A L

Do NOT have your baby here! The nurses are absolutely horrible!

Blake Blake

I am waiting from 1am to see a doctor at emg with my 5 month old its 3:34 and still cant see a doctor.REALLY worst Hopital every.

Aman Bhullar

I dunno what y'all talkin bout. I got sum proper care.

balpreet singh

Nurses and doctors are very friendly , they make sure you are very comfortable . Answer all the questions and provide all the information

Bella Olej

My grandmother was here for a few nights and i could not find any information on her health status nor could i speak to her. the nurses were beyond rude and hung up on me 4 times when i asked if i was able to speak to her. then she was in a room with a bed and a nurse came in and asked her to go and sit in a wheelchair to clear the room after she fell down multiple times and was extremely dizzy. we then went to go and visit her and as we were getting in the car we noticed the Canadian flag. it was not only not fully attached to the pole but it was ripped in half and still at the top of the pole, with no intention of being fixed. i would never go to this hospital again.

Matty the Beast Milne

I'm here currently for an arm dislocation. I've never had my arm out this long as I'm hitting the 6 hour mark of my dislocation. I could've driven an hour away to a hospital in my home town and have been in and out sooner. I would recommend enduring any pain you have and drive to a farther hospital.

Jaskiran Toor

I gave birth to my baby in January and the whole labour and delivery team was amazing. I have never encountered such caring staff, they made the whole process a great one. Such caring nurses and doctors ensured I was at ease through such a tough time.

Ruslan Tashynsky

Worst experience possible. 1. We were at the emergency waiting area when poor young guy fell out of his wheelchair while vomiting. Two nurses passed by shaking shoulders and only third decided to give him a paper tray and ask if he was okay. It was his turn so doctor called up his name: "Oh, that's you? Okay". No help offered, no questions asked while the guy is still on his knees. After he managed to get into chair (NOT his wheelchair because it was a little too far from him at that point), this conversation occurred: - "Doctor calls his name again" - Yes, it's me, I'm here! - Well, come to that room (doctor points to the room) - Dude, I cant walk! - Well, I won't carry you there!! Doctor is standing still looking at his binder. Poor dude bursts into tears. I offered help and walked him to the room. Emergency took him there and he had nobody with him. Don't go to that place, nobody cares for you. It's a $1000 dollars per visit Emergency Department and the service equals ZERO! 2. Security is doing rounds ordering people to take their seats of they're standing in a very rude manner. 3. They can't even properly refer you to the surgeon that is located in the same building. Front desk staff were passing the referral to each other for 40 minutes (I am not exaggerating) and just gave it back to us and said we need to call the surgeon ans make an appointment. We called next day and it turned out that they should have booked us using their computer system and there is no way we can book by ourselves. I hope this review helps someone to avoid this place. To be fair I have not been to other hospitals before but even the old Emergency Department seemed to operate better. Or, maybe I came on a good day.

dhanya mathew

I really wanna say my heart felt thanks to Dr.bahasadri and team. Dr.bahasadri was so kind and understanding during my critical time. I wanna say sorry too , that I took so long to jot this down. I wish all the good things come to his life and stay healthy. Thanks again.

antonella colagiacomo

Worse Emergency I ever seen the nurses very rude they don't care they walk by the patient and roll their eye at you they do't no what their doing ask them a question they don't no what to tell one nurse tells you one thing some one else tells you a different thing get your act toghetor Etobicoke General Hospital before your nurses kill someone no communication between them?

William Rangasammy

Honestly one of the worst Hospitals you can go to. They have no value for your actual well being and even your time. Some staff and even doctors barely know what they are doing. After a certain time some machines can't be used because they …

Sarii S.R

Spent an entire day here with my friend who just found out she's expecting. staff was friendly but the wait times are dreadful! 1 doctor takes care of an entire floor! Birthing, natural deliveries, C-sections etc. Scary

Kathryn Wicks

I just want to say your hospital is amazing. Your nurses and doctors are just super friendly and nice and super helpful. I really appreciate everything you guys do.

Jaspreet Singh

I always come to this location for its service but ill never come here again. Nurses sleep while you have to wait 7 hours to see a doctor. Anytime you ask anyone a question the response is always I dont know.

Preetkamal Deol

Best and fastest care!!only here..

Emma Riley

The worst experience I’ve ever had in my life .. I went to the ER on Saturday, October 16 .. and after waiting for 4 and a half hours!! .. they gave me a resident Asian female doctor who had no clue what she was doing and she was very dismissive! I even asked her for some medication because of the pain .. she said “you are fine .. you can go to your GP!” And her diagnosis wasn’t correct! Thank God she didn’t prescribe me anything!

hfaizi

What a joke this place is. I wish we had a different healthcare system.

arjun sharma

the ER is not as bad as some people are saying. but the staff was not organized. Had to wait 5 hours for an ultrasound due to an error of the staff.

chris Bigham

For over 25 years, I have done patient visitation at EGH to provide spiritual support for Jehovah's witnesses when requested. Sometimes this requires staff assistance. Noteworthy, the Security team, headed on this particular shift Sat morning August 24, by Mr. Kulbir Chowlia, were most helpful and engaged. They escorted me to the patient's room, notified and familiarized the nursing staff of the nature of my visit, and throughout displayed a very caring attitude! It contributed much to a delightful visit! Much appreciated!!! 5 stars! Christopher

Anna H

I can't thank the Pediatric's team enough for all the kindness, patience, help and love that they showed me and my son. My 6yo son was admitted to the hospital on June 2nd for an accident, and we had to stay for a 24h monitoring. His 7th birthday was the next day. Elaine, Monica, Cathy, Lorrine, Ricki, Dr Luthra, Dr Kanwal!! Such an amazing team. They all sang happy birthday and even gave my son birthday presents! (LEGO, spiderman book, board game!!) A birthday we will never forget. XOXO

Sharonia W

I was in labor and in the Delivery and Labor hospital.. told me they couldn’t do my delivery because My file is not there. Whether my file is not there or if my delivery is supposed to take place in North York... that shouldn’t have matter... if I had given birth on the highway.... imagine the level of at fault.

Grand Wears

Had a very bad experience, don't have professional staff. They r just full of attitude. Nobody likes to come to hospitals to have fun. I took my baby after waiting 5 hours I was just told, that the Dr. Is very busy don't have time to see my Child. Change ur policies and try to cooperate with patient.

jay ram

Registration ( he didn't have any feeling and sympathy when patient was having pain. He was not polite)

Rani Punjab di

They have wonderful caring staff at time.of need. Nurses are working so hard and trying to please everyone.

Sidonie Kalonda

If there was a zero star rating I would of rate them 0. worst experience ever on getting my son's Corona test result. the hospital should provide corona virus test results from 2 to 7 business day. instead they keep sending me to contact peel public health. and public heath send me back to contact the facility (William osler) neither of them have the result and it's been 7 business day already from Tue Sep 22nd, 2020 to Thursday Oct 1st,2020. I can't access the result online because I lost the health card and I only have the paper version of the card which doesn't include the number at the back of the card. I'm staying home and my son can not go to school. knowing my son and I do not have the virus and doing actually great. but I need a proof to show to my son's school before to send him back. This is ridiculous!!!

shieda ayubeally

Nothing but excellent experience from the moment I got admitted. I had my surgery yesterday by Dr Priya Sharma and her team. She is extremely professional and at the same time kind. And She has a great sense of humor. She came with an excellent reviews and I am thankful that my Dr recommended her. A smile goes a long way. Be kind to our Frontline worker. Our lives are in their hands.

F U

Happy with the nurses in the day surgery. Made me feel so calm. And they where so attentive.

Joana Ferreira Di Nunzio

Believe or not I went there on Friday 4:26pm Ande since the beginning I notice the employees in general were cold. After the doctor saw me he don't have the opportunity to tell more details about he sent me to X-ray and than I wait 5 hours. They only call me again because my husband I went there and said that everybody that started with me went home already. The doctor told me that the X-ray don't she pneumonia and that I don't have infections. But he prescribed for Amox 875 mg/Clavulan pot. My Goodness also I asked him you don't will prescribe some syrup I am coughing nonstop and he said no don't need. Of course I don't drink the highest dose of wrong medicine and becomes worst with my coughing and fever. I decided go back on Tuesday and the another doctor Listen what I have to tell and just said don't drink the Amox 875 and wait this cicle of seasonal flu gone. I really frustrated and I hope never have to go back in this hospital again.

Magna Cae

They put my sister in without even a single visitor (due to covid which is understandable) but my sister wasn't given any food to eat for 24 hours! Horrible service

wisam faris

if u care about your selfe and your family just do not go there .. they will kill you and they will run with it . ps; there is no emergency department . its a dirty clinic......the animals have a better attitude than the people who work in the ER..

net sportspicks

This is the hospital from hell. Had to wait 14 hours to do a test. Others were coming in after us and doing the same test before us. Some of the nurses are nice, but one was a lifeless sadistic nurse in MAU dept by name of Kathleen. Obviously didn't give a damn about her job, just sitting at her desk chewing gum. My wife contracted a life threatening illness, after she was released and should have been re-admitted immediately. Instead, they phoned us and told us to go to a pharmacy and get a prescription for some meds. Didn't even tell us severity of illness. Emerg doctor didn't even follow up. All in all, a pathetic hospital with pathetic staff, most of them not giving a damn.

MASRUR SIDDIQUI

I went for biopsy in Etobicoke general hospital on 13 November, 2020. The nurse namely Synthia, department D. I ( Diagnostic Imaging she served me so nicely I was very much impressed by her knowledge and attitude and professional dealing with patient. I will give her 5 star Masrur Siddiqui

Bindi Juthani

Doctor rude in ER . Visited for severe pain on june 6th .. nurse took more than an hour to just get advil - i wanted to yank off my iv and just go home to die peacefully rather than remain here. No humanity in some staff. I will write to the hospital and see if they respond.

Regina Clay

I came to the ER at Etobicoke General in Wednesday December 19 via ambulance for severe breathing problems...the wait time was bearable...the nurse I had was rude but not as rude as others as I encountered later. I had to be transferred to Bramton Civic to have a heart procedure that couldn't be done at EGEN. I was sent by ambulance ..marvelous service btw...and was treated with the utmost care there by Farouk, Donna, Heather Rachael and a host of others. Spent the night recovering then transferred back to Etobicoke General....oh my the difference... just horrible care in the ICU which is supposed to be critical care....was stuffed in a room at 9.00. .the nurses arranged blankets and set up the ekg and what have you..closed the curtains and pressed the ignore button...I called to use the washroom at 10. 35..45...The nurse said she would bring a commode...still hadntvarroved at 11.10..so I called again. I was told they had to wait for a porter to bring it...the attitude was unbelievable...I was never informed of the reason for the delay...than I asked for an update of my meds. Was told they were being downloaded at 10.30...received them at 11.30...the other nurse (no name tag) was very condensending when I became upset...I felt like I was interrupting their tete a tete...no compassion . God willing I will never have to come here again. Feel a little leery about sleeping here..no joke

Came to hospital with my wife. They send her blood work to brampton hospital. Then after 2 hours they come back to get blood again and tell us blood bottles got broken while transporting to brampton hospital. So that mean I have to wait another 2 hours to get the result!!! And then we when to get ultrasound done and technician said I cant come in ultrasound room with my wife!!! Even tho she is sick??? We came to the emergency at 6:00pm now its 12:30 am and we still waiting for report.

AP S.

So disappointed in this hospital. My grandmother was admitted here and they refused to provide any information on her status. We literally had to keep calling and pleading with someone to provide a status update. Since covid I understand visitors are restricted so please implement more time to phone calls and video calls to communicate with the family so unacceptable to fight for information regarding a loved one who is there alone and I will add the Respiratory Unit was very unprofessional in their responses. As a Healthcare professional I can't believe how they speak to families they also discharged the patient to have them admitted again 2 days later with the same infection!! On top of that the patient had a bed sore from this same hospital!. Hoping to get a transfer to a different hospital soon! 0/10

horrible place My husband was admitted for Covid related heart and lung issues They sent him home with oxygen after 3 days, We almost lost him due to infections that they missed He was sent home after catheter removal without even checking to ensure he could urinate on his own. This resulted in yet another infection I was told to come get him at 930 pm and to call when I got there. 45 minutes calling the 10th floor and nobody answered. My husband is now in Humber River and is getting the proper are caring treatment he deserves. Not the first time that Etobicke General has shown shoddy at best care. I pray none of my loved ones ever have to go there again

I am from Sacramento Ca,my only brother Rajesh Sharma is at Etobicoke General Hospital on 101 Humber College BLVD ,Etobicoke ON M9V 1RB,We flew from California to Toronto and stayed at a near by Hotel to come and visit my only baby Brother Rajesh Sharma. We were there for almost two weeks.Every 2 or 3 days we try to cal this Hospital and try to find out how my brother is doing. He has been there for FOUR Months now..When I call and I always clarify who I am and I always give my Phone numbers to the nurses ,they should know this number is from outside the country, from USA.WE can not visit TORONTO eveytime. When I called and a nurse NAMED REEMA said that I can not give any information to me.I told her that I am really worried about my only brother.and I am trying to get some help from you people to know ,how he is doing, and the Nurses ask us ,do you have power of attorney ,I would like to know if the nurses know what is power of attorney. You can not have power of attorney on someones body. And they do not have any EMPATHY ,for someone who is giving them all information from USA and just want to know about his brother. And when Rajesh SHARMA'S God Mother SUMITRA SHARMA an 85 Year senior citizen tries to come and see her son,The NURSES call ed the security and they threw out that old lady, what kind of hospital is that..My mother died when Rajesh Sharma was a baby and My Aunt SUMITRA SHARMA brought him up. I do not understand ,the nurses are enough educated in Canada, and they do not have any EMPATHY for OLD people. This should be investigated.Anyone should be allowed to come and visit any Patient any time. And I am so worried about my brother.I would really appreciate if I can get any informations on my brothers HEALTH. when we call.POWER OF ATTORNEY IS meant for ASSETS or PROPERTIES not on someones Health Information.

We came here in emergency today because my 14 month daughter was sick with high fever from last three days and took her to Pediatric Walkin clinic and the doctor there sent us with written letter to emergency for blood and urine report and to get treatment immediately. We came here around 3:30 pm and by 5:15 pm doctor check her and said he thinks it’s chest infection so even chest X-ray and urine test both was done. Then they kept us waiting till 9 pm.. and I kept asking them y is taking sooo long they said reports are not here so I went and ask X-ray department and trey said we sent report at 5:30 pm. So I went back to reception that u guys have the report from 5:30 pm then what is taking so long so lady said this is the process to wait and u r not supposed to go and ask X-ray department when was ur report sent. This is ridiculous as others mention they keep calling 1 name here and there... and keep blaming that reports are not received. But at the end when Doctor called us he was very knowledgeable and did great checkup and explained the cause properly and did give proper prescription as well. Just for Doctor I can rate 5/5. Hope this helps...!!

The staff is good but brought my grandma in to check her stomach at 6am in the morning and I am still here and it’s like 6 hours already and they wouldn’t allow her to eat anything and they wouldn’t give no updates. The doctor was no were seen. I was just a waste of my time.

Sham B

Mental health Recpionist extremely rude yelling at visitors and elderly should have not people like this working here

Omed Ahmady

The worst service at Ambulatory department. The doctor did not know what to do and send me home with the pain along with the other patients in the waiting room. The doctor needs to be fired for his actions. No experience whatsoever

This hospital especially the Emergency section is pathetic. There was a long line up of patients, some on stretchers, there were patients crying with crutches and there was no wheelchair available. The registration staff were extremely rude and not being attentive to their work The staff were more interested in talking with other staff members than attending to the long line up of patients waiting to get registered. Went to another hospital a week later. East General. Such an efficient hospital. The management board needs to hire efficient staff.

Good fast service follows covid 19 protocol

I have always hated hospital's but this hospital is the worst by far. The staff are over worked and don't want to help anymore. The doctors are far and few between. As I sit here waiting for the doctor to give the prescription 3 hrs later just for the prescription not even the meds. So now I have to wait another 5 hrs before I can got to the pharmacy to get some med for my sick wife. If this was the only hospital left in the world and I was about to die with out medical attention I would still not go to this hospital. If I could have given a 0 star I would have.

Walked in and was shocked the amount of people sleeping inside the hall way and not having a room. I'm talking mostly seniors there. I've been to third world countries and this by far brought me back memories as the scene was a nightmare. Shame on you Canada to operate like this. Dirty, stinky, no hygiene. Rude staff. Can't tell the difference between right and left and half of the blood sucked out of the idiot nurse was throwing them in the garbage.

Subtly Agressive

It's not that the people working the phones are rude, it's that they're Jamaican or Caribbean. Those people think that if they're not spitting at you, than that's ok customer service. Most of them look like early 20-somethings who don't know how to convey politeness or understanding. But if you're patient and tolerant, you shouldn't have too bad of an experience.

Ghost Ghost

WORST hospital ever!!!.. staff is rude and rarely listen to your concerns. gave Wrong meds (which could have killed the person) had i not stopped them half way thru.. even AFTER i told the nurse NOT to give those meds

Melissa H

I wish I could give it a zero. Went into the emergency section and everyone working there was so rude. This is the worst place to go if your having pain. I felt so uncomfortable by the way I was treated that I just left. Don’t waste your time.

I was there with my wife. Most of the staff was polite but o met a strange nurse who was rude Instead of working politely she was trying to command When I asked her that you.should ne polite to your patient, I was surprised to hear the answer and she said in anger the doesn't have time to be polite It happenee6 at around y pm and my wife was staying in emergency room 1908.1 and she also refused to give her name

One of the best hospitals I ever went to. I am pregnant and wasn't feeling well they take very good care of me and I was done in no time. I will strongly recomend this hospital...

If I was able to give less than 0 stars i would, infact I would give a negative reward. The hospital itself has horrible organization, and has a very dirty feeling to it. Lets move on to the staff, they're rude, they ignore you, they belittle you, put patients on forms without consulting them first, take any oppurtunity to present themselves as more superior to you and they jump to conlusions and falsly accuse you which may very likely lead to a chat with the cops. In the end this hospital is horrible. And William Osler is only a 10 mins drive away from my house while Sick Kids is a whole hour and next time I have to take one of my kids I will definetely not mind driving to Sick Kids since its 1000 times better.

I had a great experience at this hospital. I was seen and treated within a few hours. All of the staff were friendly and very caring. I lost my parking ticket. I called the attendant from the exit and he ran out within a couple of minutes with a ticket !!!!

Rajo A

The worst hospital ever i have never seen rude stuff like the ones working in this hospital, they don't know how to treat patients. Avoid this place especially if you have covid. If the patient is thirsty and ask for water they take forever to bring and don't allow family members to help their loved ones. So sad that like that exists animals are better than those. I wonder why they close patient's eyes when they are transfering to the 10th floor?

Ray Ray

Had very quick and caring staff. Very clean amazing nurses... Quick to respond to any requests and to take all necessary tests to resolve issues.

My grandfather was unfortunately taken to this hospital when he fell and was unconscious. They didnt feed him for 3 days and did not clean his wound from falling. They named him Bob because they didnt care to ask his name. The nurses were rude and very disrespectful. The front desk is so rude they wouldnt let me in to take him out from this hospital after he was treated like this. They torture patients here do your due diligence and do not allow your family members here because they will leave them to die and then say they had covid. SAVE YOURSELVES! I Transported him to London hospital where they are caring for him so beautifully and lovingly. I can't even believe I am paying taxes for this non sense.fix your system before I report all of you to the news.

I don't know about others but I never had any problems with this hospital. I had two surgery and I come there every so many months for check ups and I leave satisfied. I love the new buildings and the new systems. Two thumbs up ???????? I had an appointment with my doctor today and when I got to the hospital it was busy with patients. Anyway for some reason the computers were down and things got a bit difficult but the nurses regrouped and reorganized ,it was like something in the army, and things started to roll quickly. I say bravo. It shows that our healthcare system doesn't rely upon computers when we have amazing healthcare workers who have the ability to think outside the box. Two huge thumbs up.

*******Horrible Emergency Department Nurses!!******* My brother went into the Emergency Department with a dislocation and had to have orthopedic surgery (done by Dr. Laura Kember). While laying in the Emergency Department waiting for surgery, the nurse came in with medication for pain and gave him morphine. My brothers heart rate went through the roof and he started vomiting. The nurse asked why his heart rate was so high. Being a nursing student, I knew that a side effect of morphine is it can make you heart rate and pulse high, why the nurse in the Emergency didn't know that is beyond me. A couple hours later my brother asked for Tylenol for pain. The same nurse wanted to give him more morphine, but my brother said absolutely not. Stupid nurse gave it to him anyway. Again heart rate went up and he started vomiting. I fail to understand how this nurse did not know the side effects of morphine, I am a nursing student and I sure do. Although Dr. Laura Kember was amazing at her surgery, this nurse needs to go back to school and learn the side effects of the medicine she is administering.

Wonderful attentive staff. I was septic and the nurse Pam in the er got everyone moving and saved my life. Great nurses on the floor, always reacted to being called and managed my pain quickly and with much kindness. Great Doctors that showed up and explained everything. This hospital is run by someone who knows what they're doing! God bless.

abed shafiqi

This horrible hospital has failed to do its basic duty to the public multiple times. I know multiple people who have died after visiting this hospital due to a lack of care and attention. This hospital is only interested in getting you out with minimal effort. This has been the case over the last 10 years, before and after COVID-19. The staff at this place need to be completely replaced. Avoid as much as possible.

Although we waited in 6 different waiting areas... We were in and out in relatively fast time. The communication though is very poor. It wouldn't take much for them to take it to the next level. The hospital itself is very nice.
