Extremely discrimnatory staff and physicians. Staff were rude and unhelpful. I've never been treated so disrespectfully because of my first nations heritage and the way I dress. The physician working the morning shift on March 25th, 2018 was incredibly difficult to talk to. He dismissed all claims made of my partner's spine injury and sent us home without assessing his injury. His tone was very sarcastic as though my partner was making his symptoms up. I observed the nurses addressing other patients ahead of us and after us with more concern and sincereness. The triage nurses were cold and rude, asked me to stand away from my partner when he needed my help with his broken leg. I witnessed everyone else's companion accompany their injured partner's, however when it was our turn I was rudely told to go elsewhere until his blood pressure was taken. Im posting this for any first nations community members in and around the London Ontario location. Please do not go to the St. Joseph's urgent care If you are a first nations. My partner and I were profiled by our age and the way we look compared to surrounding patients. Im not going to name any of the staff I had recorded the names of, however I believe this experience will speak for itself and it has created a negative image for this hospital. If this is the way these staff are encouraged to treat their patients then they have done one hell of a job convincing me never to go back again.

I went to the doctor because I was having a severe reaction to eggs while I was waiting to see the doctor I heard the receptionists talk about me saying she is having an allergic reaction to eggs to which her friend replied she shouldn't have eaten them then. I did not eat any I was cooking with them and had taken safety precautions I wanted to leave right then and there because I felt like a joke and sat there in tears while I fought to breath if I would have rather gone to Regina then deal with those rude women

The staff were all very helpful and friendly. While that helps, I waited for about three hours after an X-ray in urgent care to be told my foot was not broken (and that I should be starting to walk on it again in two days) when in fact it was, which I did not find out for 6 more days. During this time I was of course attempting to apply weight and walk on it, no doubt causing further damage to an already broken bone. Very upset and disappointed.

Horrible service..they never follow thro with what they say..i was supposed to have eye surgery within 30 days over a month ago, did my pre admit 3 weeks ago and was promised someone would call me 3 weeks ago with an actual surgery date and im still hanging in limbo not able to plan or ask anyone to help me after they dont care at all.. and if i were u id try and find better servuce elsewhere i have since told them to forget it n i will be looking for better care elsewhere st joes also overcharges for parking.. al in all its not a very good place at all i wouldnt reccomend them for anything

Not Bad - all things considered. Their triage was swift despite the HUGE group of people waiting to be seen. Friendly staff. XRAY happened fairly quick but then a really long wait to see the doctor to interpret the Xray. All things considered the Urgent Care Clinic (For smaller issues - check the bulletin at the door) here is better than heading to ER at the other hospitals and waiting a potential 6-8 hours.

Visit St. Joseph's Hospital and if caught Covid or were exposed to it tough luck! Take it home with you. I went to urgent care at St. Joseph's today and was given a mask upon arrival. They won't allow to walk in wearing your own mask, which could a lot cleaner than what they provide. On my way out, I wanted to dispose of the mask and asked for a new one. I was told no. "The policy is to provide you with a mask upon arrival only, we cannot give you a mask. Either take that one home or go home without a mask." This means that if I'm exposed to Covid at the hospital I have to take it home and potentially make my family sick because because as taxpayers we can't be provided a mask on the way out? Is that preventing such a dangerous virus from spreading? This is shameful. I took a picture of myself before I left in case I get sick.

If I could give a negative amount of stars I would. I went 3 times because of a sprained ankle knowing there had to be more only to be told I'm fine not to use my churches and just keep walking on it. Went to a real hospital after my ankle got so bad I couldn't walk at all. That's where I found out my ligament is completely torn and I need surgery now to fix it. DO NOT GO TO ST.JOES GO TO UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL OR ANOTHER REAL HOSPITAL WHO WILL ACTUALLY HELP.

I went to the urgent care center there on a statutory holiday so it was busy. But... the lines moved at a good pace. I was in an out in about an hour and a half. Everyone was quick, to the point without being rude but very competent. I wouldn't call it a pleasant experience because I was in a lot of pain but they took care of it and just got it done.

Dr. Anderson from the Ivey Eye Institute is an impeccable, exemplary and dedicated Retinal surgeon who had performed my surgery for retinal detachment. You can completely feel safe under him and his team's care. He patiently answered all my questions and gave me viable options that was tailored to suit my condition. this time a positive review, i went in fand the nurses were at the inside door and we quick and efficient in their protective gowns and fever checkers before i went and there were 5 chairs separated at a distance inside the waiting room, instead of 30 to forty people waiting to see the dr's, but as i went in there was only me and i was in and out in 15 to 20 minutes, got checked and got my meds for my cold and left. they are very professional during this pandemic. i was impressed that they were so quick this time

I had a series of x-rays taken of my hands, lower back, hips, knees, and feet. Upon arrival I was already in a fair amount of discomfort due to inflammation in my knee. I was also fully expecting to have to wait some time after my appointment scheduled, but I was taken in for my x-rays quite promptly. The ladies working and training in the imaging department were very kind, gentle, and did their best to help me stay reasonably comfortable. It was one of the few times having to go to a hospital that I didn't feel anxiety from being treated like a number. Job well done.

Very poor care. They do not listen to their patients, they talk over you and are snappy. They turn the corner and you can hear them speak badly about you like you’re some kind of idiot. Triage didn’t even complete vitals! no sugars taken, blood pressure wasn’t done only thing done was temperature. The patient required care, has not kept food or water down in over 4 days, she needed fluids. I went to the nurse and asked how much longer it would be before she was seen and was told “well my drs have to take a lunch and there’s more important patients that needed care - I said well she needs fluids she can’t keep anything down “yea she probably does need fluids - walked away from me” absolute garbage care. If I could rate it 0 stars I would’ve!

If I could give lower than a one star I would, based solely on the treatment received last night in this facility. I have zero immune system, can not be under UV lighting due to extreme photosensitive and do not enter into an ER or even an after hours clinic unless my condition is dire and I can not handle it any longer. Yet, I was left to wait over 5 hours in the waiting room under the lights with extremely sick people and kids, no food or drinks available for anyone, before being finally called in. I was seen by one Dr. Dorey. She was the one of the rudest and egotistical doctors I have seen yet in New Brunswick. She 1. didn't listen to what she was being told 2. Questioned and challenged every second world I uttered 3. told me, the patient, point blank "I don't believe you". 4. talked over me, not listening when being told symptoms and history. 5. was argumentative, abrasive, challenging. 6. belittled and treated me as though I were beneath her and a stupid child. 7. Had the audacity to say that the tube lights do not give off UV lighting and that I, her photosensitive patient, was lying and am not harmed in any way by UV lights when it is scientific fact they do and is an ongoing issue for me. 8. When attempting to advise her what the specialists were investigating and/or have found ie: endocrinologist, dermatologist, allergist, neurology and internist she kept repeating X4 times "Well, I am family medicine" in a boastful tone which demeaned the other doctors and their fields as though she and her field of GENERAL Practitioner in family medicine was better than the specialists. A GP knows a little about various conditions but specialists are called that because they specialize in one field, which obviously is why a GP refers a patient to them when they are not qualified to work on specific auto immune disorders and conditions. Doctors like this, in my opinion, have no place seeing patients in a practice office or an ER or Urgent Care as Saint Joseph's prefers to be called. I try to see both sides to every situation. It was end of day by the time I got in there. I had spent the day and into the evening there as well. Perhaps this doctor was on floor too long, perhaps staff were all just looking to get out of there after a busy day and go home. BUT, quality of patient care, respect and proper diagnosing procedures, not to mention being kind to other human beings, as well as common courtesy and a good bedside manner are all key in treating patients or working with the public. I simply shut down, exhausted from dealing with pain and being treated extremely badly by an employee of the facility I was looking to, in all good faith, to help me in my hour of need. Angry, exhausted, hungry, thirsty, still in pain and so utterly let down I left in tears, I left without saying anything before I said something that I would regret. Patients should not be leaving crying and being made to feel like this. I have lost all faith in this facility and the abilities of the New Brunswick Health System and staff and I have met some really lovely nurses otherwise. I suggest that if doctors can not take the time to listen to patients and give quality care they should be removed from services/rounds and sent to the local University for retraining in the areas they lack ie: listening skills, bedside manner, diagnosis procedures or doctor patient relations. The hiring committee who are so desperate for doctors in New Brunswick also need to ensure they can get good quality, caring doctors as much as possible. In addition, for a Catholic/Christian run facility it is also appalling to experience such non Christian care as treating others as you would be treated apparently means nothing here. This is an urgent care centre not a medical clinic. The docs and nps at this location are for urgent medical needs not common cough and flu viruses or a sore toe. People are triaged at the sense of urgency and a bad cold is not urgent.

I am very grateful to everyone at this place. In and out of urgent care in 2 hours, and honestly my condition wasn't immediately life threatening. The greeters at the door were super nice and helpful. Nurse Jackie was kind and experienced and had a little grit, like all the best nurses. And Dr. Szymanski was good to me, polite, but I could see him slightly intimidating certain people because he is so efficient and direct (as he should be in urgent care haha). However he definitely came across as kind and very competent! He did a great job handling an intense fellow clearly looking for more painkillers. While I waited in my bed, I listened to other nurses and the people at the desk and they all seemed to work well together, in good spirits, and spoke to the patients in the adjacent beds in a kind and friendly manner. I didn't have him, but that Nurse Practicitioner Joe/Joel seems like a hoot. Thank you so much to the staff for all of their hard work and kindness.

I love St. Joseph's hospital and the Breast Cancer ???? Awareness center. They are great with reminders of appointments and they get your paperwork back in no time and call the radiologist and or my oncologist right away if there is anything in question. Which happened to me. If something does show up in any of the mammograms, ultrasounds and MRIs that you have done, they get you in as fastest as they can book it and get you in. If you have a bad back or neck, its very hard To get on and off the MRI machine as u have to lay down on your stomach and then have try to stay still as u can for 15 minutes approximately unless you move ???? Stay safe ladies and gentlemen

I am so disgusted by the lack of empathy I faced today. I have had 3 reoccurring abscesses in my throat which prevent me from breathing at night. The first time this happened they rushed me in, gave me fluids and then had my abscess drained. The second time, they threw antibiotics at me and told me that was it and when it came back this week I came to urgent care. I have been waiting in the private ent room for 4 hours just to even see a doctor to assess my throat. Everybody else has already been released and there should be no excuse to not see me, as this pain is excruciating. When I asked the nurse how much longer she patronized me that my case wasn't bad and said that the important cases need to go first. She said I was next and now 2 hours have gone past since she said that. Thanks for the neglect.

HAD A TERRIBLE experience with Dr.Mark Kuprowski .. His exact words were "i cant help you here..it's not my problem go back to your family doctor and she could recommend you to another allergy specialist" When he was the one my family doctor recommended to me, and after waiting for months to get to speak with him. He was extremely rude, not helpful and refused to give any help whatsoever. Even his secretary saw how bad my allergy was and was shocked by his treatment and negligence. Extremely disappointed with the way i was treated after how bad my allergies have been acting and it was very evident and he refused to even look to treat me.

All other personnel who I observed from cleaning staff, to volunteers, to admitting, to screening, to x-ray were friendly, smiling, efficient and professional! I was very impressed with this hospital and it was well worth several 9 hour drives to access the ultimate care I received!

Not sure what to say about my and my partner's experiences today here. We have been waiting 2 years to get a CT scan. We had been offered one 2 weeks ago in Strathroy but as we do not have a car had to refuse. At 9 AM this morning we recieved an AUTOMATED MESSAGE reminding us of my partner's appointment at 1 pm today. Surprised we went in, went through Covid testing and went to diagnostics. We were then stunned to be asked - rather rudely - whether my partner had taken the appropriate medicine 24 hours before his CT scan. Since we had received notice of an appointment exactly 3 hours before hand we obviously had not taken the medicine. The result was being yelled at by the receptionist about "waisting everyone's time", we were told that "we were liars for insisting that we had not been notified last week of this appointment as they had a record of the call". As it turns out the primary phone number they had was NOT OURS and so they had called someone else. However not willing to admit their mistake we were informed that since we "had refused to take the medicine and listen like even children could that that they had to cancel the appointment". We were then informed of the charges for the late cancellation - which we paid and told that we would be taken off the list for CT scans in London for refusing 2 appointments this year. We did not refuse 2 appointments, we could not get to Strathroy and the other was a mistake resulting from your staff using the wrong phone number. As we went to leave my partner, was then firmly and again rudly told by the receptionist "your file says you are a problem patient and until you learn to listen to instructions and take medicine you will keep living in pain." So much for empathy. I recognize that this is a tough time but these types of comments are unhelpful and rude attitudes are unnecessary. How many people does this hospital let go untreated because staff and receptionists are having a bad day? We are now back off to our doctor to get another referal to get a CT scan and get back on the list. Please remember when you make mistakes that these are people's lives and health.

Was there recently for surgery, and the staff of both the hospital and the Ivey Eye Institute were absolutely the BEST. Very thorough, professional and friendly, I felt I was important. I had been to St. Joseph's before, and also received the same excellent care and treatment as this time. 5 stars.

My family and I have had very positive experiences at St Joe’s, and the staff and services are excellent. My mom had eye surgery at the Ivey Eye Institute, my daughter for hand rehabilitation at the Roth McFarlane Hand and Upper Limb Centre, I have been to both the Urgent Care, and I’ve been at the Diagnostic Imaging Centre. Each of these services provided us with excellent care. The staff were very helpful, friendly and respectful. Wait times are very good to reasonable. I’ve never been disappointed with any service provided at St. Joe’s

I was dealing with some severe bacterial infection symptoms over a weekend and felt like it would not be smart to wait until my doctors office opened the next day. Reviewing most of the walk-in clinics in the area, almost all of them had horrible reviews. I was told about Urgent Care at St. Joseph's and was in and out in an hour with a prescription to treat Strep Throat. There are 3 different stations you visit when you enter: Check-in, Observation and Information Verification would be the best was to describe them. Once done, you wait to be called into the office to then be seen by a physician. Very friendly staff considering the amount of people they see each day. A couple of them were stern, but if you have your information ready (such as your health card, personal information, symptoms, etc.) you won't have a problem. Thank you to the staff that made my experience a good one!

I am going there once or twice a year for different tests for the last 12 years. The staff is very nice, accommodating and professional. No long lineups and waiting. Parking is reasonable compare to the rates in other hospitals, especially in Toronto.

I have recently been treated in the gastroenterology department here. I can't say enough great things about the care that I have recieved. The nurses and support staff and my Dr.Hawel are the finest their is. They are kind,compassionate and very professional. I highly recommend this hospital and this department if your in need of a gastroenterologist .Thanks for all you do every day and know that you are all very much appreciated.

I wish I could say this place was somewhere you could be treated like a normal person who is unwell but from the experiences I have had in this urgent care center this month they will only treat you like someone seeking drugs until you can prove with your own blood, tissue or maybe your sanity that they are wrong. Nov 5th. First visit I went earlier this month with chest pain difficulty breathing and already been tested negative for covid and showed up there under the advisement of the London health unit as per regular order of the covid assessment procedures. Upon my arrival I was hesitant and worried but the lady who greeted me at the door was welcoming spite my unassured feeling i was in the right entrance, she gave a mask and sanitizer and made sure i was going to the right place and where to wait. I was then a checked in for my basic info and told to wait for triage to finish assessing me. 10/10 on the check in lady. Then I meet the gatekeeper triage nurse who is having CLEARLY anything but a nice day...but I do my best to answer her for some reason aggressively and angrily asked list of questions about covid. I say I did not know if I had been exposed because of my symptoms and she arrogantly replied "so that's all the information you're going to give me? that you MAYBE have been?" so I tried to tell her why and she cut me off to proceed with her next question as though the reasoning was not important anyway(why waste either of our time to display a scene of rudeness if it wasnt going to be relevant how i answered her anyway). After struggling to get through her questions because she was upset about whatever went wrong in her day, she pointed me to a piece of paper across the cubicle and asked how many of those symptoms on that sheet do you feel...so i said almost all of them and she rudely said oh so you have chicken pox? After clarifying my symptoms a second time and I explained was a little confused/foggy but after the sheet she hastily said well now she had to move me because i said i had a cough and cold but not before she asked me if i really had a cough again, I said yes, I am congested too so she put me in a side room but not without making another snarky comment about "since you say you have a cough you can wait in here" as though she still did not believe me again(IM TRYING TO LOOK OUT FOR OTHER PEOPLES SAFETY HERE LIKE WOW, totally contradictory feeling to the sanitizer and facemask recieved at the door too, really makes ya sorry for being sick like it is an inconvenience for her at your job where basically only sick people go????). After spending a short amount of time in one room I was moved to another for what would finally be my xray I requested. The female doctor came in and asked me the usual questions but she was worried i might currently have covid and i understand that given the circumstances but she had also the same look of disbelief about my symptoms and was hesitant to take my xray at all but thankfully she did send me off. The lady who took my Xray was super nice, she should show the others how to be compassionate or a human being. After the quick xray i went back to wait 15 minutes and then the nurse/doctor came back in and she delivered me the results like i was going to have a baby... Well mr it looks like you have yourself a bacteria infection. GREAT lets have a party....now can you take me seriously? finally i get antibacterial medicine for my problem and I am on my way but why this level of scrutiny at all to begin with? Its not like im asking for drugs nor is it crazy to be sick, being difficult and angry is only making the staff fall more behind on time and be less productive in meeting caregiving needs of patients. Did you sign up to be a Bouncer/Security Guard or are you working in the field of medicine to help people who are unwell get better? Maybe you need an employee stress assessment test or maybe some employees just need to be dealt with. I cant be that arrogant where i work and expect to keep a job. Shame on them! 3 stars for the xray

I just got home from day surgery for kidney stones and it was the best Hospital experience I've ever had. Believe when I say I know hospitals. My son had alot of health problems over the past 30 years so I have 30 years in and out of hospitals both here in London and Toronto. Everyone of the Outpatient nurses I came into contact with were so kind as well as Dr. Denstedt. Before my surgery he came to talk to me he was very reassuring and I wasn't as worried as I was beforeI I fealt so safe and well taken care of, aftersurgery care was amazing.I wish I could give them 5 more stars.

This hospital refused to let anyone of support to you be there. The doctor physically walked out on me while giving information about my situation happening. They refused to look at me and took my situation as a joke. They weren't friendly nor kind. They told me this is a hospital and you are to wait. Priorities arent where they should be. Nurses just walk around freely talking with their coworkers instead of checking patients in their emergency room to see if anything changes. Doctors or nurses shouldnt be allowed a degree if they are failing to abide by the practice they should be following. Is believe after so many bad reviews an investigation should be put into place against the doctors and the way they treat their patients. I will never come back to this hospital nor bring my children here as they misdiagnosed my one daughter before. INVESTIGATIONS need to be arranged in this facility.

This hospital is doing a disservice to its community. Many staff are unprofessional, a few exceptions. Confidentiality is unheard of or not enforced. Dr. Sheikh's office and surgical department is an absolute mess. Have seen some positive change with new doctors but one wonders if they'll stick around to truly create an impact. Hopefully people are getting referrals to Regina to receive adequate care.

I just called at 3:15 November 3 to see if I can speak to a doctor or nurse about my scab on my knee and there's this little flesh piece that came out with it and I was asking if they have any suggestion of what I could do but the front desk women was being very rude to me and made me feel like I wasn't worth their time or patience then still continues to going on about how I need to come in to see the doctor but why would I go in if I just have a question to ask which won't take even 2 minutes out of his/her day and when ever I'm in there from this point forward any staff rude to me expect a rude response

Absolute worst waiting time for adults. I had 6 people come in after me and have gotten in to the doctor. I politely asked how much longer as I have to go get my 2 year old, and if I should wait or go and get her and come back. **told the nurse I would rather not bring my child here with all the germs and measles going around, she suggested I would be out in time to get her*** (Told me I was next and it is up to the nurse who THINKS who should get in next) nurse heard me talking, and intentionally skipped me and got 4 other people in. Never in my life have I had such a bad experience!!

Besides going for treatment in this hospital, their Parking has to be the most horrendous one. I have had two appointments in the last 4 weeks and boy! I drove up and down for 25 minutes and still no parking. And what's with the level of those parking. I feel like I am hitting my car on the ceiling. Overall the parking is limited.

Staff are very friendly, short wait time, very quick to get x-rays done and get a proper diagnosis. Dr. Tanaka was amazing and quickly got me to x-ray to confirm the diagnosis. A week after a walk in clinic dismissed my concerns as "a cold", Dr. Tanaka told me I was "the proud owner of my very own pneumonia", his kindness and professionalism (and sense of humour) were top notch!

Dr Grant- terrible experience with him. He made me feel like I was bothering him and my pain wasn’t worse enough for the hospital. I asked him what do you think is the reason after they did 100 tests on me. He said I am not God how would I know. I read the reviews here and got in touch with the number they provided to call to discuss the matter , nothing. They wrote my whole experience down and said they will reach out to me and they never did. Save yourself some time. Go somewhere else.

What is the meaning of "Urgent"??People working in Urgent Walk in Clinic in St.Joseph forgot. First time I went there feeling terrible waited 4 hours and "DR" Kotowski told me that there is nothing wrong with me.He said.Just wait it out. On the way home from ST.J I stopped at walk in clinic on Commissioners . Young DR.Melad told me that I have severe pneumonia.After I did X.ray I got home and passed out on the floor.Walked up 18 hrs later when antibiotics from Dr.Melad started to work. Thank you Marbene Melad.Shame on you Dr.Kotoski. Stay away from this hospital.They will not help you.Just charge OHIP.That's all they care. There is no point to write about my second bad experience after waiting 6 hrs suffering with sciatica ,with DR.Christine Richardson. My advise. Best doctor you can find is internet. Stay healthy and stay away especially ST.JH

I received great treatment in a fair time frame on a Saturday afternoon .. found the staff to be friendly And Dr.Christie was outstanding and very compassionate ..
