The staff and vet were exceptionally sensitive about dealing with me and my old cat who had to be euthanized. They had set up an outdoor area for social distancing. Potted flowers and wooden benches made a peaceful atmosphere for the most difficult task. They were wonderful.

Baxter, our chihiahua/Jack Russell mix had really bad breath and plaque so we had his teeth cleaned. He came out of it with flying colours and everything went well with the bill coming in just a bit over the estimate due to more damage to the teeth than originally thought. The only reason they don't get a 5 star rating is because Baxter was supposed to be ready for 330pm if they didn't call. When I called at 2pm, he hadn't even gone into surgery and so then they said to come at 415pm and when we got there, they said he wouldn't be ready for another 45 mins. They could have told us to come at 5pm and saves us a trip and it would have taken a 1 minute phone call. But overall we are very happy with the services provided by them as we have been going there for 19 years.

I highly recommend Dr MacDonald and his staff, he was very thorough in explaining the procedure and post-op recovery. Emily our Tosa required an ACL repair to her left knee, she's recovering very well at home with very little discomfort (good drugs..lol) Again, thanks to Dr MacDonald and all his staff.

I brought my service dog in for an emergency surgery and 4 days later the surgery needed to be completely redone at another vet because CVAH was closed (thankfully). The other vet didn't give too many details about having to redo the surgery, but the information that they gave me indicated that the wound wasn't cleaned before cvah sutured it up. The botched surgery from cvah was ~1000$ The surgery complete redo was ~ 300$ I feel I was over charged by cvah, and it's imbedded in my mind that the vet who did the first surgery was negligent. Really wish there was recourse to be refunded for the hospital almost killing my SERVICE DOG

Vets are great. Front staff arent. They said that since my animal hadn't been on pain control they wouldn't need to be- just because I didn't know my animal was in pain before doesn't mean they should continue to be in pain now. Bye!!!

I had the unfortunate task of having to put my best buddy down back in June. I asked the Vet for their professional opinion on the matter, which they gave as a professional AND as a pet owner, it was very refreshing to receive the human side of people during this terrible event. Since this was during the pandemic, the rules and regulations made the experience unique, however, all of the staff there were extremely compassionate because I could no longer contain my emotions. They gave me time with my buddy as the sedation kicked in, as well as time alone moments after he passed. The day after, one of the Vet techs called me to say they had a gift for me, it was his nose and paw print on these cards that stated 'In Loving Memory' I don't think they know how much that meant. I will never go to another facility than CVAH. Thanks again for helping me get through an unbearable day.

Dr Dave and his staff are outstanding! Our Archie was in distress and they took him in immediately. It was time for Archie to cross the rainbow bridge and they showed so much love and care for our poor old boy. I have a senior dog who needed extensive dental work. I live in the Parksville area and had a quote of between $2100.00 to $2700 for the care she needed. My daughter who lives in Comox recommended that I try the services of the Comox Valley Animal Hospital. They charged me nothing for the original examination ($75.00 at the Oceanside Animal Hospital). Took my little girl there for the procedure, cleaning, 6 extractions, cleaning ears and clipping nails fr $964.00. I SAVED over ONE THOSAND DOLLARS by driving for 45 minutes!!!!! Don't take the first quote you get from veterinarians, they have a license to steal your money! Do NOT use vet services in the Parksville/Qualicum Beach area, they assume we're all rich with money to burn!
