I called this afternoon about my 6 year old dog having a seizure and confusion this weekend (first time for any health concerns, exercise daily, eats good quality food). Woman who answered came across as completely not interested in giving me any advice about my dog. I told her I live in Labrador and would have to take the ferry and drive to bring her in. So I was wondering if it is necessary to bring her in for tests or can I monitor her from home for a while. All she said was "Well thats up to you". I told her "She is otherwise healthy as far as I know, but read it could be other complications with liver.kidneys, but also is common with her breed.. so I don't know how to make that decision myself. I don't know if it is an emergency or not." She just chuckled and said "Well.. " as if still it is just my decision.. I said "So still my decision is what your saying?" and she still didn't give me any other advice. Not helpful at all. Definitely gave me a clear decision right then - I will not bring my dog to you, thats for damn sure. I understand maybe you could have had a long tiring day, but my impression is that she sounded like she is not passionate about her job and was not concerned about my dogs well being at all. I will drive past your services to go to someone who dose care.

Last time I was there for issues with my Cat. I showed up 5 minutes before they were officially open so when I walked in the door, as it was unlocked and staff working behind the counter, I was rudely told to wait outside. It was in the winter so myself and my poor sick cat had to wait out in the cold till they officially opened. I have not been back since!

I think everyone should express their concerns about Animal Health Centre in corner brook, turning away a sweet pup who Was suffering today and ended up passing away ???????? Trust me guys, I agree 1000% that all vets in the corner brook area should offer emergency clinics. Animal health, humber valley, and animal surgery and wellness. Not just 2/3. I do think all clinics should have to provide emergency care, after hours. I also believe that no matter what one clinic chooses to do, should not affect a animal needing to be saved. Animal health centre is the clinic that was on for emergency calls today and This dog was TURNED AWAY!!! The only reason is because the vet this pup usually goes to, Doesn’t do emergency clinics, so Animal health centre “isn’t obligated”’to take in pets that go to the other vet. Just because they aren’t obligated doesn’t mean they should be so heartless, to not help!! Absolutely heartbreaking. A sweet, innocent little pup didn’t even get the chance to survive because the emergency clinic didn’t take him in!! I’ve talked to so many people who have had similar situations with this clinic, not being helped in an emergency, or them having very bad experience with their pets here!!!! Call them, message, post!!!!! Do whatever it takes until they come forward about this tragedy today. This is UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!! Why take on the roll as a veterinarian, if you aren’t in it to save ALL the innocent lives that desperately need it!! A video call was made, showing the suffering the dog was going through, and still no help! I hope you pay for what you have done may you rot.???????????????????? The family’s hearts are shattered. I’ve cried so many times about this today and it’s not even my pup.. I can’t imagine what they are going through! Put yourself in the shoes of this sweeties family..... this is wrong on so many levels. The person who lost her pup today, has a rescue of her own and has helped hundreds of cats, dogs, bunny’s, birds the works!! You name it, she has helped them!! Then in her time of needing help for her own precious furbaby, this is how she was treated ???????? completely unacceptable.
