Puis à une heure du matin on m'a transférer dans un couloir sous un gros néon de lumière. Les infirmiers avaient dont l'air stressés et surchargés...c'est pas agréable...on te dit de ne pas hésiter à sonner mais tu les vois courir d"un bord pis de l'autre...mettons que tu sonnes pas bien bien parce qu'on dirait que tu déranges...Finalement au matin, on me fait faire une vraie radio et découvrir que je faisais une crise d’appendice. Il était 9h30. Je fus finalement opérer à 19h. Ils m'ont garder pour la nuit, sans me garantir de chambre mais finalement j'ai été monté à une chambre en cardiologie à 23h. Je suis finalement repartie le lendemain à 18h...Je lève mon chapeau à certains infirmiers et infirmières qui sont passionnés et qui gardent le sourire malgré tout...ça fait toute la différence quand tu souffres le martyr. (Translated) I would like to thank the emergency room staff. This morning I had severe pain in my esophagus. I was put in administrative segregation because I had a little fever. A nurse came to see me to take my pressure as well. They put a small tube into a vein in my hand in case I had to inject medicine. While waiting for the doctor the nurses would come to see if I was OK and I could hear the staff caring for the other patients so a lovely 96 year old lady. The doctor came and I had x-rays. Then I was transferred for a gastroscopy (the staff froze my throat with a spray and then they inserted a camera in the throat to see the condition of my esophagus). Result: ulcer and tear so they put clips on the walls of the esophagus that will fall off on their own. Then they made me eat to see if the pain was still very present and already with the clips it was much less worse. They asked me if I wanted to stay again because of the pain I preferred to be at home. They prescribed me mediation by explaining to me the foods to avoid for a little while. I take my hat off to everyone and the atmosphere was good so we can see that they appreciate each other and are a team. (Original) J'aimerais remercier le personnel de l'urgence. Ce matin j'avais des douleurs intense à l'oesophage. On m'a mit en isolement préventif car je faisais un peu de fièvre. Une infirmière est venu me voir pour prendre ma pression également. Ils m'ont inséré un petit tube dans une veine de la main au cas où on aurait à minjecter un médicament. Pendant l'attente du médecin les infirmières venaient voir si j'étais OK et j'entendais le personnel s'occuper avec soin des autres patients donc une dame de 96 ans adorable. Le médecin est venu et j'ai passé des radiographies. Ensuite on m'a transféré pour une gastroscopie( le personnel m'a gelé la gorge avec un spray et ensuite ils ont inséré une caméra dans la gorge pour voir l'état de mon oesophage). Résultat : ulcère et déchirement donc ils m'ont mit des clips sur les parois de l'oesophage qui vont tomber tout seul. Ensuite ils m'ont fait manger voir si la douleur était encore très présente et déjà avec les clips c'était beaucoup moins pire. Ils m'ont demandé si je voulais rester encore vu la douleur j'ai préféré être à la maison. Ils m'ont prescrit de la médiation en m'expliquant les aliments à éviter pour un petit bout de temps. Je lève mon chapeau à tous et l'ambiance était bonne aussi on voit qu'ils s'apprécient et sont une équipe.

I needed emergency drainage of a painful and disfiguring absess which was done expertly and with compassion by Dr. Sauvé et.al. During this procedure a pre-existing condition of arrhythmia was discovered prompting further tests and treatment. The cardiologist and her staff were comprehensive and educational in their approach to addressing my astonishment at having such a heart condition. I spent nearly a week in their care and was treated for both maladies until I could safely and comfortably return home. I will never forget my experience, which however negative on its face was nevertheless a learning and restoration to good health. I love these professional people for what they did and how they did it. Further, Dr. Morin of Cardiology and her able colleagues have been monitoring my heart condition and despite an unpleasant procedure or two have made my visits educational and my treatment thorough and professional. To all at Hôpital Enfant-Jésus I offer a sincere "Bravo????????????????! And ???????????????????? for the nursing and support staff.

Staff is useful and friendly. Most of time I didn't have to ask for directions, staff would see you looking around and immediately offered help. I was hospitalized two times, 6 days each time, in the Neuroscience aisle and staff were great. Nurses were wonderful, so wonderful that I felt sad to think of leaving them. My Neurosurgeon was so kind and caring... It was easier to think of my brain surgery thinking my life was in his hands. The Chief of anesthesia and his staff were fantastic.
