My dog passed in my arms on the way to the vet, so arriving there, she was gone. I walked in the doors, pleading for help in any way, and was told to put a mask on, despite the fact that my dog was deceased in my arms, regardless, I put my mask on.
Frantic and obviously a mess, the vet comes out to tell me she’s gone and there’s nothing they could’ve done. I accept this unfortunate news and go into see her. I enter the room, she’s on the table, eyes still open, I fall to the floor, in hysterics. How can you ask someone to come say goodbye to their pet, and couldn’t even do me the decency of shutting her eyes? Literally, I had to close my deceased dogs eyes.
Before I leave, the vet tech (who stood and watched me grieve, didn’t give me 5 minutes to myself to say goodbye to Scampers) relayed that she was going to do her paw prints that moment. Happy with this news, I confirm my address and expect to have them maybe Monday.
Today rolls around, I call and confirm they’ve mailed the paw print, they had not, the reason: “the mailman hadn’t come yet and the mailbox is out of the way” which leads me to express my utter honesty on how I was not impressed with how un-empathetic and uncomfortable the entire situation was there on Saturday to which the person I’m on the phone with replies “well I was on vacation and you don’t have to be rude”.
Long story short, I took it upon myself to go pick the paw print up because of my disgust with the customer service I’m enduring. As I walk into the clinic, they literally had the envelope sitting on the counter, no verbal interaction, but some serious hateful glares.
I have never been so disgusted and displeased by people who call themselves animal lovers.
Let alone the countless stories I’ve heard from many fellow pet owners who have been appalled at their customer service.
Come to find out the receptionist I was speaking with on the phone has reached out to one of my co-workers to ask questions/talk about the interaction. Pretty sure this is against all confidentiality protocol and is not allowed. The WORST customer service I've ever experience in my entire life.
