Here you have the information of real people like you who are purchasing the products and services of Prince County Hospital (Hospital) near Cavendish (Canada).
At the moment this business gets a rating of 2.3 stars over 5 and this score was based on 45 reviews.
As you can see its rating is really scarce, and it is based on a large number of feddbacks, so we can be pretty sure that the score is quite accurate. If many people have bothered to evaluate when they are happy with the service, it works.
As you know, we don't usually bother to put feddbacks when they are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Hospital corresponds to the category of General hospital.
Very organized
It's a hospital why are we rating it. What are you going to do go to a different one?
This is the worst hospital I have ever seen in my life as I am waiting from 9 hours and still waiting in emergency for my turn but nobody call me in to see as I have serious back pain and I can't sit and stand for long time...
This hospital even doesn't deserve that one star. They don't care about patient's condition and don't respect their time. I visited this hospital because I got a cut on my hand. I waited for 3 hours and then I asked for my turn. Nurse told me they only treated patient as per emergency and my wound is not that serious. Are they God or what that they can feel me.
Horrible doctor , after waiting 12 hours doctor is asking me that why i waited 12 hours as they do not do foot surgery, and he was blaming me that it was my fault . I asked 5 times from nurses that doctor will do the toe surgery? and nurses were like they do not know, I don’t understand if they know anything then why they are sitting there and filling the forms. Just wasting patients time and do not care in how much pain patients are sitting there.
My partner went into the ER with a very high fever a dangerous heart rate vomitting & coughing up blood, they gave him fluids & sent us home, we came back a second time same situation they gave him a steroid & again sent us home, we came back a third time, he is no longer experiencing the exceled heart rate or high fever thanks to the 50 dollars worth of over the counter medicine but still steady with the vomiting & coughing up blood, these 3 visits happened over a course of 6 days, 4 days later I lay next to my poor partner who is still vomiting & coughing up blood, 10 days of this so far, I can’t help but think they refuse to give him antibiotics because these doctors feel were wasting their precious time by bringing him back after they already gave us their answer “ just deal with it”, my partner is down 15 pounds, hasn’t been to work in almost 2 weeks, I guess all I can hope for is that my partner at some point gets better without the antibiotics his body clearly needs as it’s yet to fight it off on its own, I’ll also hope he doesn’t lose his job, thank you PCH, you’re useless!
Slow wait times
Nurses are incompetent, took 2 hours to get a simple needle in. Emergency is useless, when you're 15 years old with a ear infection that makes you think you're dying, you don't really want 65 year old dumbasses coming in at 2 in the morning for a "cough I had yesterday"
Staff in the ICU are some of the best I've ever seen.top notch care..
Our family has had two childreb here and both amazing experiences. Personal rooms and good nurses. As well scheduling for bloodwork is pretty painless for a hospital. Best hospital I've ever been to.
I came to the hospital to check out an infection on my right arm, I've been waiting for 4 hours so far. One of the nurses called me in and I thought "finally I can see some help", but now I'm left in an examination room ALONE for the past 20 minutes. Not to mention the fact that I can hear multiple nurses banter amongst themselves outisde my room. Will be driving to charlottetown the next time I need to seek medical help.
Just shut down the emergency facility. Why use tax dollars to keep an emergency service opened when urgent emergency health service cannot be provided?
Great care for newborns
Outpatient's is painfully slow.. i cant believe people get paid here to do nothing .. here for 4 hrs now with the same 2 people ahead of me arg
I waited for over 9 hours of the hospital would have got 5 stars. I was sick, I was tired, hungry and uncomfortable but the care I received when it came to my turn was amazing. The staff were thorough, kind, over worked but extremely professional. I am from out of province and have an underlying health issue and they took the time to get filled in, make me feel extremely welcomed to the province and treated me accordingly. I have many great specialists in Ontario and not for a second did I doubt the ability of the staff at PCH. I would sit and wait for that care again today if needed. I could never blame the staff for the political challenges they are faced with daily.
if you need to see a doctor expect to wait at least 8 hours
Extremely slow in Emergency area. They do more socializing then their job at times. Had a fall down a flight of stairs and end up in an ambulance and a night in the hospital. Went for a follow-up the next day as directed by a phone call from the hospital. I was directed to enter thru main entrance to register and then sent to emergency area not being told I had to re-register again. 5 hrs later waiting in that area was outrages. Wow!
My sister was in palliative care for 8 weeks. The staff was awesome...we could not have asked for better care. Thank you
DO NOT RECOMMEND. you’d probably die before I doctor sees you in the ER. I’m glad tax payers are paying for the doctors to chat about their vacations and also apparently you get to pick “quick” people to deal with before the end of their shift. So they’re are not late leaving. That’s why you get lost waiting. These are peoples lives you are dealing with. Maybe you should reevaluate who you hire as doctors.
Slow, inexperienced, and understaffed.. after an hour drive got to the er at midnight with my 2 year old it is now 1:46 and no answers other than we need someone else for this. Makes me wonder.
We’re ignorantly greeted At the door, tourists with only One other adult and children and told our children can’t come in when we’re not from here and no other adults to watch our 5 and 6 year olds. Worst hospital I’ve ever gone to. You’re better off making a drive somewhere else. Staff is very rude and wait for a broken arm is over 8 hours despite my family member bawling and crying in pain and they were very rude the entire time, showed zero sympathy at all. Doesn’t even deserve the one star but I gotta click something..
This facility is in need of desperate aide requiring trauma informed staff.
I heard great things about PEI, so we packed up and moved here. Everything was great until my wife fell and hit her head on a rock and probably concussion she complained of weird feelings and injured her back. I took her to the nearest hospital which is the one in question. I dropped her off because of Covid, could not stay with her. She was there from around 9:45 am,until 2:45 pm, no doctor saw her, we left and went home, must say it’s the worst hospital visit in our life, probably on the planet, have visited 45 countries, I wish I can award zero for horrible horrible service. This hospital administration should be fired, including the CEO, will take her to a private doctor. Imagine in Africa you can see a doctor in 1 hr, what’s wrong with Canada?
Terrible place to get treatment I have to wait 8 hrs to see a doctor. I will never suggest anyone to visit this place.
WORST hospital I've ever seen. I took my son to the ER where we waited for four hours. We finally left at midnight without being seen. Some people had been waiting since the morning. Many other people just got up and left after waiting for many hours. The triage nurse was rude and had no compassion. And for a newer hospital, the waiting room was filthy. This hospital is an embarssment to our country's health care system. With all the negative reviews, you would think our government would take notice and do something.
Same as every other hospital in this country.
Came into emergency on a sunday morning. Early with chest and back pain. One terminal diagnosis later life upside down . The care was and continues to be first class .spent 3 nights in ER waiting for a bed so saw what those poor nurses have to deal with. Police . Druggies . Violence verbal abuse . So yes things can be slow but that is the same ER where ever you go .
Waited all night over 8 hours to get to a room with a bed. Than another hour to wait to see dr. Terrible service. After seeing dr. and going home dr. called and ask us to come back for a ct. said we wouldn't have to wait, But here we are waiting right now over 2 hours again. What are our taxes dollars doing???? Unbelievable!!!!!
Had to leave as wait time was an estimated 4 hrs.
Doctors are typically very good. The majority of nurses are slow, cranky and unprofessional. Wait times are inexplicably higher than QEH when compared to similar amounts of patients being seen.
Some nurses (like on the maternity floor) are wonderful. Others seem cranky all of the time. Triage nurses are always terribly snotty and emergency wait times are a joke. Also if you go to the ER and the doctor on call is Dr. Brian Harnois you are in for disappointment. He is incompetent and has no bed side manners whatsoever. After my experience with him, I googled him on the internet and learned there are many bad reviews of him so I guess I'm not the first one to have such a terrible experience. Common PCH, set the bar a little higher for your doctors!
One could be the second patient administered in the morning and not be treated until night time if people just keep walking in. Very slow.
Horrible place, have been there multiple times with chest tightness and shortness of breath and they don't seem to be concerned at all and I always end up leaving disappointed and without any reassurance or treatment plan. Have been having the same issue for over 5 months now with no help. There's something seriously wrong with the healthcare system here on pei and hopefully it can be fixed because i wouldn't wish for anyone to be going through what I'm going through.
Great staff (except for some volunteers who obviously haven't been adequately trained). Problem is with a province running a 3rd world health care system in a first world country. No X-rays on weekend because they're closed? What kind of a hospital can't do something as simple as an x-ray on a Saturday. Glad I hadn't had a major car accident and left on a stretcher over the weekend waiting for the x-ray tech to show up on Monday morning.
You would be better off getting advice from a rock. I have so much respect for doctors but when I am fainting in the waiting room with my eyes randomly being crossed for 2 hours and I get told i just never noticed my lazy eye and I was just tired and falling alseep? Thats when I loose all respect. Some doctors there are amazing but its sad when you’re debating on going in as you might get a bad doctor who is going to send you home no matter what. I went in for severe abdominal pain on my right side and blood in my stool I was worried about my appendix I was told I am constipated because I dont go twice a day like the doctor I had does. Got sent home and told to take pain killers until I see my family doctor so I can get laxatives. Never had problems with being constipated and doctors have told me not going twice a day is normal as long as its normal for me. Currently I am laying in bed on the verge of tears because the pain is so bad. I recommend going ANYWHERE else because chances are you will get a doctor who will just send you home unless its clearly visible whats wrong. Majority of nurse are just cruel as well and make you feel bad for not knowing what is wrong with you.
Been waiting here for more than 4 hrs nobody is paying any attention. Despite being in the EMERGENCY section... Dont waste time by visiting here better to drive charlottetown to see a walk in clinic
I came to the hospital to check out an infection I've been waiting for 6 hours so far.
