My cousin has been in ICU for severe internal bleeding for two days straight without the ICU physician seeing him yet. Only got four bags of blood transfusion, a colonoscopy, and that's it. He lost about 6 litres of blood and no one has seen him again! The medical staff (not doctor - didn't come again) can't figure out what's going on and won't run anymore tests. They said they're waiting for him to bleed out again. HE LOST 6 LITRES OF BLOOD! What kind of hospital is this that can't treat patients in the ICU! This is an emergency! This is extremely disgusting! I've already spoke to Patient Relations and they couldn't help or understand the situation. This hospital will be sued for negligence.

I had my appointment at night. I got there 40 minutes before. From outside I called to ask where was my appointment because there is 2 buildings, and they told me the main one. I drove around just to see where to find doors to go in and I park the car on side parking. I come out and was freezing, i went the first door and was locked i went to a second door and locked i went a third door and was also locked, well i decided to go throw emergency. From emergency I walked to main lobby and was nobody in there to ask where to go. Imagine if I was a older person spend all this time in the cold and all this walking to get to the right place.they could do better with signs and information.

I went to the emergency care this past weekend on Saturday late afternoon. I had a reaction to something. The staff in the emergency area was very helpful and understanding. Very clean environment . Thank staff you save me.❤️

Hospital staff is efficient and friendly however not as much trained as Trillium. Most specialities are not available for emergencies. Wait time is normally reasonable; however sometimes supplies are not available in the ER and it can take time for staff to get them from indoor wards. Similarly some of the modern equipment is still to arrive. Overall good for minor issues.

It's really unfortunate how difficult the city makes coming and visiting your loved ones at the hospital. Big fancy hospital with all of the latest and greatest I get it, someone has to pay for that. But when I come to visit my sick grandmother after a long day at work, it's difficult to handle all of the hassle of visiting. Difficult navigation of the place is where is starts, it's a huge place after all. But when it comes time to leave, and pay for parking, you're left with nothing but hassle. Unfortunately I do not have a credit card to use to pay, meaning I must pay with cash since there is no debit option. It's pretty silly to make people pay either cash or credit, considering the amount of people that carry debit only these days (like myself). I had to go to the other end of the hospital to access the ATM, take a whole $20 out since the lowest amount the ATM will dispense is $20, pay the $2 service fee, only to then pay the $4 ticket (it was $3.50, but I went over 30 minutes running around trying to pay) and have the machine give me $16 change back in toonies. Pretty ridiculous if you ask me...

By far one of the best hospitals. Very clean and impressed with the layout. When I arrived had no clue where to go. But one lady with a hospital badge came up and directed. Everyone was courteous and helpful.

Mikyle Deen

Great Hospital!! That is also where I go vaccinated! And very nice doctor's!

Tamer Afifi

I have been going to this hospital for 5 years now and I trust them completely. They're always friendly always willing to answer questions. Very helpful and friendly. I highly recommend to all of my friends and family. Experts! Exactly what you need when it comes to your health

Hospital ER is better than those in Vancouver. Efficiency here seems to be a lot better. My kids been to the hospital twice and they were treated less than 3 hours from the time of check-in to discharge. Excellent job!

Mohamed ElFar

Great new hospital providing consistently good medical service.

T G

You think this expensive hospital could afford things that work! Phone/tv things always broken. The phone you just hear crackling the whole time!

Boris Zupancic

Visited ER for chest pain... Reception was quite quick to accept me and take a look. I had some heart rate abnormalities, therefore they took me in and did a few tests to figure out the problem and make sure I am safe. Most doctors, nurses and stuff were awesome in their professions. Thank you Oakville Hospital Stuff for taking good care of me, I appreciate you and wish you all kinds of blessings .

Extremely rude and cold staff with no compassion whatsoever. Went into the emergency with a 4 year old in immense pain and ppl who came wayy after me were going on to the see the doctor before me. Went in at 7pm came back home right now at around 1 in the morning Will remember time to rather die with pain than go through this extra turmoil.

paul breeson

Every doctor I've had here is rude and short. I'll be going to a different emerge room thanks

Chantel Plantery

Had to go In for a hida scan this morning everyone was polite and helpful. The person doing my scan made me feel very comfortable and at ease.

Alison Annabelle

I had a 50 minute mri that I wasn’t looking forward to tonight at 9:00. The hospital was very quiet but both the admin staff and the mri tech were very efficient and helpful. Natalie gave me a detailed overview what to expect and let me know throughout how much more time. And the admin made me a cd of my mri in no time. Thanks for everything. Nice job.

Sabina

I have had scheduled polip and lesion removal end of April 2019. I received great personalized care. All went well and I was out same day. I had good experience.

stewart scott

yesterday had my colonoscopy on the second floor surgical Ambulatory dept , first class treatment from the whole staff , doctor, nurses and volunteer staff, special shout out to Bob who hands you your robe and helps you onto the gurney , what a nice man so helpful to me and waiting family

Jess Halliday

Worst experience. Completely unprofessional and rude staff. Will not be visiting again. I waited for three hours to be told it would take a couple more hours for blood work. This was while I was violently throwing up and on the verge of fainting and they said they couldn't do a thing to comfort me. Frustrated with the predicted 3 hours that was to come me and my boyfriend decided to try the Milton hosptial for a shorter wait time and the lady was VERY RUDE when i told them I'd be going to a different hosptial, "If you have enough time to shop around for hospitals maybe you should just go to the walk in". Unbelievably horrified of the lack of concern these employees have for others.

Angela

Pregnant with bleeding just 3 days shy of 20 weeks so the maternity ward wouldn’t see me. Sat in emergency moving from room to room just waiting for a doctor for almost 3 hours when finally we asked about my file and when I’d be seen I saw my file at the very bottom and they said it would be another 4 hours to be seen by anyone. Apparently nothing is considered an emergency to them even pregnant.

Tried to kill myself about a year ago. Was taken to OTMH and admitted on the standard 3 day psych hold, then held for additional time. While, at the time, I desperately wanted OUT of the hospital, in hindsight, the 5 days I ultimately ended up staying there were beneficial. Talking to other patients and the staff there helped me come to terms with some of the things I was going through in my life. They offered a great outpatient program that really helped. It was really good to meet people who feel and think the same things you do, makes you feel a lot less alone. My only "complaint" is that I haven't been able to get psychiatric care after I finished the day program, and my recovery has stalled, and may, in-fact be sliding backwards.

MISC VIDZ

One of the best hospitals! Very helpful staff.

Farah Sami

Halton Health has been incredible, compared to other health cares we have. Halton Heath has outdone themselves with Covid testing and providing covid results in the time frame they say. Thank you so much.

If you plan on bringing your child or loved one to mental health services, don’t. This hospital can make things so much worse. I have been a patient here many times and was never told that I could give feedback about their services. I am not the only person to have issues with the mental health services there and I doubt the issues will ever be resolved. Misdiagnosis is very common at this hospital and results in mismatched medications.

Lisa Marie

Disgraceful!! Tonight our 12 month old baby choked, when we got to the hospital the piece she choked on became lodged possibly in her throat and we had to be sent to Sick Kids for emergency surgery. My complaint is that she continued to get winded and gag and I called the nurse 4 times who was to afraid to try to open up and see if anything was there and said to wait for the dr. Our daughter seemed playful but would suddenly stop and gasp for air. The nurses were so ignorant to us as it was shift change and the nurse christina actually came in and screamed at us letting us know she JUST GOT HERE and to stop freaking out at her. Very professional. I managed to record it! Our baby is now at the hospital for sick kids getting surgery done here and i can't even believe a trained proffesional would come in yelling at us when we were telling them over and over again we needed help. I do not feel safe at that hospital. Its absolutely ridiculous that they have no staff to help! Especially an almost choking baby! They finally called a specialist in and she did a scope and sent us right to sick kids in Toronto.

CCAOO

State of the art hospital with modern medical equipment. If you need to go to emergency god help you! Expect ro wait in excess of 4 to 5 hours before a doctor sees you. Unacceptable!

Steven Hao

Had a fantastic experience getting vaccinated here, the staff were welcoming, efficient, and schedules went smoothly

Sense of Wonder

Oakville will check you in quick and then forget about you. They forgot about me in one of many numbered rooms/horse stalls. I sat and listened... as the Doctor treated young teen aged patients with stuffy noses. Meanwhile i came in at around 8am and saw a Doc. until 8:45pm. -Oakville has the worst Emergency Treatment i have seen in over 50+ Yrs. Zero Stars For Forgetting About Patients In Agony!!!! The Apology After Was Unacceptable!!!!!!! A Horrible Experience.

Pathetic. Didn’t and wouldn't refer me to a psychiatrist to see about my mental health. Said they were only booking emergencies. Also said I should find help in Brampton. She didn’t wanna help me. She suggested everything in the book other than me getting help from them. Worst kind of people to work in the mental health department.

This place is a joke.. Have to pay exorbitant parking fees and even have to buy the WiFi. For a new hospital, it is filthy and rundown already. The ER process is substandard to say the least. Not very professional either, actually watched multiple doctors have medical conversations with their patients in the middle of the ER (to the point that we knew what they had and how they were going to treat them) Only one nurse for 5 doctors too.

Pedro Q

Staff were nice and helpful!

Steve Massie

Unbelievably slow... I have been to emergency at least 3 times. All of our expiriences so far have been 6 to 8+ hours. My last visit was for my 1 year old daughter. In a state of the art hospital... with tons a funding, the priority is definately not the patients. Staff members huddle together for what seems to be social chats and gossip. The doctors are nowhere to be found and definately have 0 sense of urgency. Exceptionally frustrating

the ghostjesus

Parking is a nightmare. Multiple visits to get parking pass revalidated. Pass is supposed to be valid at gated lots. It didn't work again today. Get it together.

Taif Mak

Spent 4 Hours in the Emergency.. I have seen many Hospitals but this one is so Special by a Great Staff.

M A

Great staff! So glad that this is near my house.

Paul Galbraith

Excellent surgery for my father but the lack of proper nursing care is very disturbing and downright scary (no doubt due to understaffing). Nurses can't answer questions for my mother who is very concerned about my dad, and it seems between them and the doctors they don't even know what medication he has been given. Doctors aren't informed of his condition. I'll feel a tremendous relief when he is out of hospital not just for the obvious reasons, but because I feel he's in danger at this hospital due to neglect from the staff.

i g

My dad was in the ICU and the nurses were terrible. When transporting my dad they accidentally pulled his arm that was already hurt and his arm started to hurt a lot more. When my mom tried asking the nurses when the doctor would come since it had been hours without one the nurse replied, “How am i supposed to know??!” in a very rude way. The nurses seemed to be blaming things on each other and were incredibly rude to patients. This is ridiculous, please do better.

Ravi Dawar

I had the worst experience ever at this hospital. I went in for my a year old who had high fever. I went here early in the morning because no walk ins were open at that time. however, I nearly had to wait for 2 hours at the emergency before any doctor (other than the triage) showed up. It was a total waste of time and peace of mind. I would rather have waited for the walk in clinic to open.

spice cadet

Negligent, cruel, inefficient. your family is in danger here!

nathalia kulatunga

Worst service, doctors take forever to come and there’s hardly any doctors in this hospital. Very disappointed with everything and my whole experience. Never ever coming here again!

Madalla Alrajo

Just i want to say Thank you

I got my Ceptum Surgery done at this Hospital on Dec 7th (this being a day surgery). I was highly impressed with the professionalism at each and every step right from of registration to Patient outcare to the OT room. The front desk ladies were very cordial. Every nurse who came to attend me before the surgery was extremely nice. Inside the OT, besides my Operating doctor, i had Anesthesian, and 4 nurses. All of them were very caring. Post Surgery, the recovery room was the best. The Nurses there are extremely attentive and caring. The Entire Experience was more than 5 Stars. Felt like Home !!!

Jamil Akhtar

I have been to a few hospitals as caretaker of family members. I have also been to couple for personal illness but the care that I received here is phenomenal. The ER staff is kind, empathic, and caring. The listened, asked, acted professionally and kindly. The imaging staff is phenomenal. I have been to a few of their imaging sections and they always explained what to expect, their procedures, and the outcome process. Not sure about outpatient or inpatient programs but ER and imaging , definitely best ever. Thank you.

At the Emergency met Christina at the 7:15 am 24th-June 2019. She was extremely Rude (unbelievable). Her shift was about to finish at 7:30 (thanks God) my wife wife was pregnant & was in tremendously Pain (almost to deliver our baby boy) she was angry about our perfume !!!!!!! She didn’t want to complete the registration!!!! She told us she feels sick couse of our perfume!!!!!!!! I was going really mad & my wife was dying of pain !!!!!!! Just wanted to warn other hospital goers who want to avoid hospital parking - do NOT park at the BMO/Little Caesars plaza across the street. A scam of a towing company (A-1 Phil's Towing Inc.) hires/pays a security guard to call in at the end of the night when cars are left over in the lot, and will tow immediately (for us - within 30 minutes of parking there). It sucks to come out of the ER at 1 AM to find your car gone, but it sucks even more when this particular tow company deliberately lies to its customers about the fees to get more money out of you. Just suck it up and pay for hospital parking or walk further to park in another plaza, because dealing with this tow company is just not worth it.

Bren Zo

emergency department staff are very hospitable and friendly - very professional overall big thanks to Ian from McMaster and all the other staff who assisted

YAN YU

Beautiful hospital built in 2016 with huge food court, gift shop, pharmacy and bank. Tim’s open 24 hr at the main floor which is great for visitors. Clean and spacious room for patients. Internet TV are available for rent. Lots of parking in the 6 level garage, yet Emergency parking always busy. Parking is expensive but I think all hospital parking in Gta is similar. Parking fee is $23 daily, $50 weekly or $90 monthly. Hundreds of volunteers in hospital and happy to help when you need. Live music mostly piano in the lobby every day played by volunteers.

RV, Ontario

One of the best hospitals in the area compared to few in nearby cities, always a pleasant experience. Staff, nurses, doctos and technicians are super nice and they provide efficient services. Thank you OTMH, keep up the good work.

Jessica Delgado

I had my appointments with the cardiologist and it was by far the worst services I ever experienced in my life! Completely disorganized, the receptionist have no clue what they are doing. They are inconsiderate of my time no apologize of the inconvenience. They canceled my appointment the day before, gave me the wrong address and I was 5 minutes late, which the cardiologist was in the same elevator with me to have them canceled my appointment again because I was late. This happened all in different days so it one wasn’t a time thing it was a repeated thing. Highly suggest you go to another doctor none related to this location!!!!

RSC

We'd like to thank all the doctors & nurses from Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital that helped dad recover.

tamaria rick

The triage nurse - emergency was incredibly rude.. Hospital need more Nurse's and more service busy some Nurse's don't Know what she do... Please looking for Organizing The place.. And there is minimal support given to the families... It's should be improved more....

Steven Hao [Student]

Got Pfizer today, it was a quick and easy experience. The staff were nice and professional.

After waiting for 5 hours to see a doctor and being in extreme pain due to a knee injury I was told I'd have to leave my room to wait in the waiting area for an ultra sound. I waited another 3 hours and there was still 4 people ahead of me. I was then told by the nurses that they have no communication with diagnostic imaging and that they would see me when ready.- to me having to sit there for 3 hours unknowing when I would be seen was difficult to understand. I was given no medication to ease the pain and to be hounest was starting to feel I was completely forgotten about. For being a new hospital and being so tech savy I was completely disgusted with they way things where handled. After being there for 10 hours I decided to leave on my own will due to the pain of sitting in a waiting area on my knee was to much to handle. It was at midnight when my phone rang asking where j was and that ultrasound was ready for me. 5 hours after leaving the hospital I would have then at that point been back in emerge waiting on results and seeing a doctor. I would have been 15 -16 total waiting around time that is just ridiculous. A system that's suppose to run flawlessly had every single flaw yeasterday or so it seems.

Frank Yang

A big modern hospital. The building almost looks like an airport terminal. There are a number of examination rooms for Emergency Room patients. There is also a spacious food court.

Ishadhya Sanyal

The hospital was clean, nurses were helpful. Overall my experience was great. Except that they rushed me to go home 7 hours after my surgery cause they wanted to bring new patients in the room. I was barely able to walk. That's the only thing I disliked.

Aaron Specht

Overall solid experience at this new(er) hospital for an inpatient nose job. I was quickly brought in to where I needed to be and eventually went up to the recovery suite after surgery, where the nurses were so caring. Great bedside manner. They got me water as needed, ice packs, and treated me with care, dignity and allowed me to conduct myself freely when safe. They were in no way overbearing. Food on the other hand was as expected at a hospital, but there was a large menu. The dieticians, however, were curt compared to the other staff.

Drew G (Drew)

Avoid this slaughter house at all costs if you value your health and life. My wife dropped me off on August 16 as per my family doctors orders, did the Covid procedure to get in waited in line and when it was my turn to speak to triage Inwas promptly yelled at. I was trying to explain why I was at the hospital and this witch of a nurse became belittling and belligerent towards me. She was then speaking to other nurses about me with me in the room referring to me as “IT” . I then said I am a human being and deserve to be treated as such. I was shocked utterly shocked at this point I have zero trust in the process. Are they going to put my file at the bottom of the pile? . So went through triage with another murder waiting in the overflow hall. Waited a few hours , after seeing the doctor they refused to do any ultra sound that my condition requires and sent me home with prescription for morphine. Now I’m at home and unsure where to go. My healthcare team has failed.

Owen Edward

Best hospital.

Tomas Didi

The best hospital I've ever visited. Staffs, from front to the back, are very friendly and helpful. Always put a "smile" in their services (although I can't see the smile behind the mask).

Mandy singh

Worse worse experience. They actually dont care even if you die and considering how much they charge. I started having a stomach ache at around 8pm. Because I couldn't bear and it was extreme. I reached the emergency around 10:30pm. They took my name and asked me to wait untill my name was cald.i was still in extreme pain. It took an hour and more for them to actually call me and after that all the details were taken, I was made to sign documents pay in advance for the emergency facilities and doctor fee. I did that and was sent inside to see the doctor. I was miserable, my stomach pain was so extreme that I was legit dying in pain, but no one bothered, everyone was having a fun time there, the nurse went by so many times but didnt bother to ask.i asked for a pain killer around 1000times but they refused. They made me wait for almost 4 hours and when my condition got really worse and I was getting unconscious, I asked my friend to beg them and ask them if u could get a painkiller, it was already 7-8 hours of extreme pain. I was given a shot at 3am. And asked to wait for the doctor ,which was again gonna take sometime. The doctor finally arrived at 5:30am in the morning telling me that it might be a kidney stone and I will have to come back later for the ultrasound.this was one of the worse experience I ever had. And the kinda of mental trauma I went through I would remember it forever. Charging so much for the emergency and still taking hours to actually see the patient is completely illogical. I still get chills thinking about the experience I had and how miserable I was treated????

Fantastic hospital!

Ada Gonzalez

Although I got a c section at this hospital i had a great experience. the staff were really nice. Different nurses took care of me, they were all very nice and helpful, they were so helpful in helping me feel comfortable and helping me breastfeed my baby.

Maryam Azadeh

My son had referal from dr and still took us while to be seen and get medical attention. Staff in ER are so chatty. It seems they are here to socialize and tallk about their life rather than doing their job!

eleni papadopoulou

Very RACIST clinic. NURSES KEPT IGNORING PATIENTS FOR 17HRS AND SOME OF THEM EVEN HAD ATTITUDES WHEN ASKED QUESTIONS. STAY AWAY!!!

hassan aljandale

Honestly, this is the best hospital in town. Every time i have an emergency this is my destination. I always get the best treatment and value even though waiting time can get a bit annoying but overall i love the crew! Thank you so much for everything

Paul Francisco

In severe pain and I sat there for 6 hours and nobody asked me how I was doing. I am disgusted by the service and WARN YOU not to go there WARNING! !!!!!!! YOU WILL DIE IN THE CHAIR BEFORE THEY LOOK AT YOU. I had to leave and go to another hospital to be treated like a human. WARNING WARNING WARNING !!!!!!! DANGER DANGER DANGER

Olga Cordero

We spent 9 hours yesterday in the Emergency Department in this hospital, It is the worst service I've ever seen. Staff doesn't really care about people. My son entered with appendicitis symptoms at 2:30 PM and he got a diagnostic at 10:30 Pm. my son could be death today because of that people, they don't have any idea of prioritizing A ruptured appendix can actually lead to death. If it's left untreated, peritonitis can quickly spread, resulting in septicemia, or bacteria in the blood. Thanks God and only God it was not the appendix. How could they just let a person with that symptoms sit for 9 hours waiting for a diagnostic. They just don't listen my son was literally wallow in pain. When we had spent 6 hours there I went to the counter and said to the nurse asking for help and she said "Six hours waiting is not that bad". They take advantage of their situation and patients can't do anything but waiting and waiting and waiting. In general they are really bad professionals. My son actually didn't have a diagnosis the "Dr" finally said "could be anything but at least it is not the appendix"

Ashley Patel

The most amazing doctors, nurses, and staff (especially the Cancer Care team), the cleanest hospital I've ever been to, the kindest volunteers. So much respect, admiration, and appreciation for the whole OTMH network.

Robert C. Shannon

Hospital Parking prices and tickets to high $$$. I am a registered voter and resident of Oakville Ontario Canada . We paid for the hospital through solicitations, taxes and matched funds. Why are they charging people visiting families over priced parking fee's . It is a horrible SCAMM. If someone is visiting a CLOSE family member daily giving them support they should not have to pay more than $5.00 per day. Your response unknown person is unwanted cover up excuse. YOU AND YOUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS ARE BAD PEOPLE ON PARKING.. A 100 DAY PASS SHOULD BE FREE. A 30 DAY PASS SHOULD BE FREE, A 10 DAY PASS SHOULD BE A FLAT RATE $30. RIDICULOUS We paid for that hospital and continue to do so through taxes and you gouge people dayiling for parking. PARKING SHOULD BE FREE OR $5.00 FOR THOSE STAYING AT HOSPITALS and FAMILIES WHO WISH to VISIT SUCH a WIFE, HUSBAND or visit a IMMEDIATE FAMILY MEMBER SUCH AS A MOTHER OR FATHER. iT IS A RIPOFF TO THE PUBLIC AND A SCANDAL YOUR PARKING FEE'S. SHAME , SHAME, SHAME ON YOU ALL. Overcharging on something that was and is paid for by tax dollars. R. Shannon

missed my dads birthday celebration because my appointment is 2h late, still waiting.. not a good feeling on top of being in a hospital :/

Missy Vee Elle

Absolutely miserable nurses in Ambulitory Care. My Husband was in for a procedure. Out of the 5 Nurses we dealt with, everyone was to the point and not an ounce of caring and compassion. One was disrespecting Milton Hospital and telling us how bad it was. Milton hospital has a much better level of nurses and Oakville-Trafalgar would do well to emulate this. On top of that, not one Nurse acknowledged me as a support for my Husband. Volunteer staff were excellent.I see the reviews and I can’t see Oakville-Trafalgar being oblivious, as to their level of service. Very disappointed.

ScottyBoi

I've been admitted to the Constant Observation Unit on Multiple occasions and the staff have no knowledge on how to treat mental heath patients nor do they understand mental illness overall. Also a psychiatrist named Dr. Butler is not a good one and is disliked by many patients that have been there. In conclusion i would not recommend going here for ANY mental health reasons, please do yourself a favor and go somewhere else

Andrea Gil

It is one of the best hospitals.

Giuseppe Moschetta

I had a great time, the staff helped me a lot and was very kind and professional. Thank you all

tamileelan thusjan

god is faster than this hospital

Effie Siamalekas

Great new hospital. Amazing doctors and even more amazing nurses

julian hoolian

Went in for an absest, had to argue with doctors and nurse about why i was at princess Margaret for cancer multiple times, took 30 minutes to an hour just to get pain meds or a nurse to come in after pressing the call bell. They will also come in to do vitals than leave for 30 minutes leaving you attached to everything

Nicole Perez Vasquez

Worst service here ever, came in with huge headache and because my gum was bleeding and according to the triage nurse from registry, not important and I was sent back home. The way she expressed it offended me and made me feel as if she was being racist and rude because of my young age. Don’t come to this hospital I am not the first person to complain about this type of customer service. If anything happens to me or the other person these people should be held accountable for it.

Kyle's Creative

Not sure where the bad reviews are coming from. This may be one of the nicest hospitals in Canada. The care I was given was top notch. No other hospital comes even close. Clean, and the rooms are quiet at night. Nurses were all very attentive.

Claudiu

Just had my surgery there... Great place. Will not go to any other. You guys are amazing.

Ann-Marie Lam

The staff here are incredible. So nice and patient. Waiting time is like nothing. Hospital is clean bright full of hope. Parking is easy and there are a lot of lots. Staff did I mention Awesome staff?!?

Maria Fernanda

The staff at the triage was nice and welcoming until you actually go to the emergency room, I had severe pain and they just sat me in cold room for almost two hours half naked, they never gave me anything to ease my discomfort despite the fact that they already knew what to give me. The one nurse around was just laughing and flirting with a male nurse, she avoided eye contact when you approached her and the doctor sitting in front of a computer telling everyone that she was too busy doing the nurse's job!, the room was completely packed with people and the medical staff was just sitting around doing nothing! Completely unacceptable, the treatment I received from a fairly new hospital in a no so populated area was completely unacceptable!

shannonigans

We went to the emergency here in September. The hospital is clean, has good sized rooms, and excellent staff. My partner was attended to and all of the staff were kind and compassionate. The staff and the doctor we saw listened carefully to my partner's symptoms and description of his pain, and while outwardly he had no physical issues, they were thorough and kept him for scans which revealed a tumour. The staff had a room arranged at the Trillium hospital's neurosurgery centre and has us transferred there in the same day. If not for the thoroughness of the emergency staff here, we would not have known about his brain tumour, perhaps until it would be too late for a full recovery. I am very grateful to the staff here at Trafalgar Memorial.

Mr. Big

I had some issues with fever that would not go away. The hospital took good care of me and did all the necessary tests to make sure that I was ok. Good experience as much as a hospital can be.

Belkys Harbauer

Everyone is kind, empathetic and for the most part polite and professional which is refreshing compared to the average Canadian healthcare experience. The wait times in your ER however are far too long. 8-9 hours for basic care is not reasonable. You have sick, elderly, newborns, people in pain, people with loved ones at home … waiting this long … it’s kind of abusive and probably not conducive to helping people get better. Where is the bottle neck? Work on figuring that out and this hospital has all the potential to be a wonderful gem to the community.

Chantal Adjei-Vaillancourt

Always have such pleasant experience when we visit hospital, nurses and staff have been very friendly and thoughtful.

SecondCup Westdale

New & modern hospital; the nurses are friendly and helpful!!

I am soon to be heading home from this hospital, and it's very hard to leave without Leaving a few words of appreciation. Needless to say that the staff is very hard working and professional all around. However, there are some nurses that stand out in this hospital, who I believe have a great future ahead. A young nurse named Madison is one of them. She helped with my complex recovery needs for a few days and was absolutely professiomal in doing so. It was spectacular in the way that she found time, in a seemingly very busy environment to tend to all her patients in such a caring and highly professional manner. She is a great person who truly cares for others and a professional standout nurse that is of great value to all of us. I truly hate to say goodbye to the staff. But I wish them true blessings and all the best in the future ahead. Overall, Halton Health staff is amazing. Ivan Galc./Operations Manager. -

My Daughter had her tonsils removed at this hospital & overall, everything from the pre-assessment to the actual surgery went very well. Everyone from the staff, the nurses, the anesthesiologist & the surgeon (Dr. Holler) were all extremely kind/helpful. They even gave my Daughter what they called a 'Love Box' filled with goodies any young child would appreciate. The ONLY factor that didn't result in a 5-Star rating was the premium parking costs. It's inevitable at any hospital to have to pay premium parking rates & that should change. Other than that, I was quite pleased with everything else.

Great experience

I can only provide positive feedback about this Hospital. Then nurses on duty for the last 5 days from Pod 300 7 floor are the most caring and hard workers I ever met. The care that my husband received from the nurses and doctors on duty was outstanding. Thank you for all your support during a very difficult time for both my husband and myself. Luisa&Luis Da Silva

Old hospital closing December 15th, 2015 and new hospital opening. We all needed this hospital it's about time. We......have been... heard.

I just recieved my COVID-19 vaccination at this location, and couldn't have had a more pleasant experience. The entire process was run very professionally, clearly, and smoothly. I have had difficulty with vaccinations in the past, and both the greeter and the nurse who administered my vaccine were incredibly kind and personable. This human element to an otherwise sterile process makes all the difference for anyone who is uncomfortable receiving vaccinations. My sincere appreciation to everyone I interacted with today at the Oakville hospital - but especially to my nurse. Thank you for all you do.

Chirag Shah

One of worst experience, after waiting for 4+ hours nurse asking why you come to oakville hospital.

Faisal Malik

Absolutely amazing state of the art facility with equally amazing staff and sevices. Incredible to see a publicly funded facility run so well. Truly an icon of what Canadian healthcare should be across Canada.

AZNSallad

An excellent hospital, it's big and clean. It's a good hospital to go to if you require the medical assistance.

Emma Knapp

The Doctor sent me to go get an ultrasound without giving me a requisition which is required to get said ultrasound.... now I have to go back to the ER wait till a doctor can see me get a requisition written up for me then go to the imaging department get the ultrasound then go back to the ER wait till a doctor can see me then figure out the results of the ultrasound. Not only that but the doctor did NOT know what is covered by ohip and prescribed me a medication not covered even though I specifically requested a medication that would be covered by ohip 4 times but they also didn’t give me the proper paperwork to continue the process in which to get a full diagnostic.

Phillip da rosa

Come here if you plan on waiting for 5 hours for them just to look at you and send you home and to take Tylenol, worst service ever with rude staff. Canadian health care is going down the drain, It's sad. I'd rather pay for health care to get immediate service.

The Emergency Department at Oakville Hospital, for the sake of people calling to check in on family/friends, could benefit greatly by having a dedicated person to answer phone calls and provide status updates on patients. Within the past hour (October 5) I've called in twice. First call, after speaking with someone and being transferred, rang about 20 times and then the line cut out. Second call, I spoke with someone and was told to call back as the nurse is busy. I'm not expecting the nurse to directly take my call, so as I am suggesting, add someone who can provide updates and basic information.

Senthil Thirugnana

I would give a 1 star for some of the staff members @ the emergency section (BAU), especially for the miserable nursing staff named Dianne or Diane. When my friend was admitted, his family would drop off hot meals to be passed on to the patient which she wouldn't purposely give it. The meal would sit at the nursing station till the next meal time, while my friend wouldn't even know that the meal was dropped off there. Atrocious behavior by this individual who would answer any inquiries in a "Military Style" tone without realizing the stress endured by the family members as it is. I had visited patient relations and explained the treatment my friend & his family had received and also called a few times to follow up. So far, no proper explanation or follow up has been done. Really sad my tax dollars are going to pay salaries for the unfit.

Edward Stavin

Thoughtful and wonderful service from the intake and emergency room people. Thank you.

Donna Palmer

COVID-19 protocols in place. Friendly staff

H Power

My first time in this hospital and I’m so impressed with everyone that works there. I had my hip replacement done by Dr Zabtia. He was awesome and I would highly recommend him. The staff were amazing. Thank you to all especially the staff on the 7th floor.

Tomas Didi

The best hospital I've ever visited. Staffs, from front to the back, are very friendly and helpful. Always put a "smile" in their services (although I can't see the smile behind the mask).

MRI gowns were so short and why not give shorts and a shirt i had an mri on my knee not my head and ribs

More than an 8 hour wait for my child at emergency ! 1 doctor on the shift at emergency! How is this possible for a community of this size? Do not blam cutbacks!,

Get rid of Eileen spraggett before she does more harm

Do not bother. Just stay home and suffer; all this place is going to do is make you wait for 6, 7, 8 plus hours then send you home with zero results, zero assistance, zero improvement. I went in after 10 days of severe pain in my upper abdomen, around my right ribs and into my back. I haven't been able to eat or sleep, I haven't been able to even breath deep or yawn without pain. They had me playing their waiting game in emergency - where I was sent w notes from an urgent care doc - for six hours, during which a nurse blew two of my veins trying to put an IV in, and I had all of TWO x-ray pictures done. They gave me one single dose of pain medication and ignored my requests for more (4 hours later) and my statements of increasing pain, they did not remotely find the cause of the pain, and they then tried to send me home w just one pill of morphine and zero solutions. To add insult to injury, the staff refused to give me the daily dose of my antidepressants, leaving me to begin going through withdrawals - in their waiting room - from not having that 450mg of medication! The doctor stood in front of me and said he was ordering the dose; 4 hours later I still do not have it and the nurse is telling me I am not getting it. I will never come back to this chop shop.

Ultrasound department needs to get their act together. Twice I've been told there was no requisition faxed over or didn't have sufficient information, as if the patient is responsible for this. They don't care about patients and their time or health concerns - if a physician has sent something over, it should be considered medically necessary and patients shouldn't be told to come back when there are no bookings left for the week. There is no flexibility in the system even when the imaging is ordered by hospital physicians.

This rating is directed at the 16mile Cafe. 0 stars, if I could, because I heard about chef abusing an employee. Please do not go there and don't give them business! Will not come back.

My mother was in emergency for falls 9 times before they finally deigned to omit her long term. It took them a month and a half to figure out what was going on and now they plan to keep her there 3 months longer because they can't consult with neurology until the end of February. It's different nurses and doctors every time I talk to anyone, no one knows what is going on and many are straight up rude. But hey, at least they have live music and the nurses all have those super cute Superman t-shirts! People are going to suffer long term and needlessly die because the staff can't be bothered to do the bare minimum. One of the assistant staff yelled at my mom because she was unsteady and she "wasn't going to break her back" helping her. It made her cry. If she couldn't handle helping an elderly patient by herself she should have asked for help instead of barking at my mom. That was just what I saw when I was there, I'm sure there were other abuses I didn't witness. Update: Despite me voicing concerns over bringing my mother home, they discharged her anyway ignoring anything I had to say (got to shove people out so there's more beds!). They initially we're going to discharge her on a Monday, giving me a week to prepare then suddenly it was Friday. They discharge at 10 am so if your family member needs help be prepared to miss work or they will sit in the "lounge". Took the staff 25 minutes to find paperwork despite the fact they knew she was being discharged that day and we needed to get downstairs for the care-a-van. Nobody ever once explained things properly to me, talked to me or cared what I had to say. We're now "set up" at home with "great" community services who don't show up on time and are pretty much useless. Long term care in Canada is non existent unless you have money. Disgusting. Update 2: Had a massive panic attack and ended up in psychiatric last year. Initial staff was lovely but the follow up psychiatrist didn't give a damn, interrupted me and was uninterested in anything other than upping my medication and rushing me out. He was rude, abrasive and left me feeling worse. The mental health system has long been lacking, but this was beyond disgusting. He basically accused me of wanting benzos when part of my stress was dealing with them and their treatment of my mother in the first place.

Jake M

Absolute terrible experience! I first went in on a Wednesday they were quick to help and when I started to feel better they let me go.(I wish that was all) I was given no diagnosis they just made an assumption and hoped it was right. Needless to say it's Friday Im back in the hospital worse off then before. I was in a lot of pain and the wait was awfull, finnaly got in a room and it was a mess(there was a urine container left from a previous patient). Took the next doctor about an hour came In and said the previous treatment was useless! I had a completely different thing then I was previously tested & treated for . On top of all this the staff were rather unpleasant, looked like they were taking there sweet time as there section very quickly began to over flow with incoming patients. It took my nurse 4 tries to take my blood! as she fumble all her stuff around on me. And I don't even get a room I have to sit with an IV in me in a crowded lobby waiting area. Seems all the doc is doing is going over the PA and saying "testing123" every 5 mins. thought I'd share my experience do whatever you can before you go to this hospital.

Bshd Canada

Doctors unable to diagnose anything! some nurses rude... even though the ER was completely empty they told us to stand outside!being a newer building the seating area in ER is very minimal also the zones they have created hope they thought that through before. Take your kids to a sick kids hospital otherwise the doctor will be looking at you for a diagnose.

Vadim Chuzhinov

7 hours in "Emergency" room with my wife . Will never go there again. No doctors.

Lisa Byers

My dad was admitted to emergency due to extreme pain from muscle spasms in his back. Paramedics did a good job of getting him there on a gurney and the nurse took good care of him, but the doctor was in a hurry to get him out of emergency and out of care (where we waited from 12am to 5am). He ended up prescribing my dad the wrong medication that made him feel extreme nausea, caused exhaustion, sweating, heart palpitations, headaches, hallucinations and increased his anxiety. So he had back pain in addition to everything else :-( Edit: it's also disheartening to see the same cookie-cutter responses used for almost every complaint on this page...

Paul Mayhew

Nice building, nice doctors/nurses, nice rooms My 90yo mother was admitted with what turned out to be a blood infection. The hospital and all staff that I worked with were very good. So from a care perspective, I was very happy.... problem was that things moved glacially slow there.... everything seems to take days to accomplish which extended the stay much longer than it needed to be. the Food and Room were very good, she had a private room, so that was nice.

Carly W

Very very very nice hospital. Wonderful staff, huge rooms, many food and shopping options. When my Nana stayed here she was very well taken care of. Only complaint she had was the quality of food served to her, most things she said were inedible. Parking is expensive.

MJ Vogt

My father was admitted on Dec. 4th and every part of his stay was made easier because of the kind and caring staff at OTMH. He was brought to the ER, then to 6S pod 300 and finally Palliative Care. Everyone from the paramedics, nurses and doctors to the house keeping and food services staff was respectful and professional to both my father and us, his family. A sincere thank you to all you wonderful people. O. Colarossi Family

The worst experience ever

Amy Power (butraura)

Went after 11pm for inexplicable chest pains on my left side. We went to the ER and they checked my vitals right away upon admittance, as well as my blood pressure. I was then sent to Zone A with my chart and waited maybe ten minutes to be seen. They did an ECG, then only five minutes later they did blood work. Easy as pie, everyone was very nice. After the blood work I waited about half an hour to be sent to Zone C with my chart. I was happy to have some progress but then upon getting there was disappointed. Several people were in the zone’s waiting room, most of them asleep. It made me wonder how long they had been waiting. It was around 12:30AM. They did not bring me to a room until around 2AM. They bring me to a cold room with a bed and a chair, no pillow or blanket. It wasnt until about 2:45AM another nurse came in to check my vitals again, the exact same procedure and questions as I was asked 3 1/2 hours before. He then left. Hours passed. It was around 4:45 when we began to make an issue out of it. Several people we were waiting with in Zone C were also hovering around their designated rooms, uneasy and waiting for a doctor just as I was. Then we were told we couldn’t pace. We were told to stay in the room. My mother asked if we were waiting for a doctor to come on shift, and she was told basically, “no, there a many doctors here but they’re all at the front”. Finally about 5:25AM a doctor came in. She asked me (not-so) shockingly similar questions to the first two nurses, but this time also listened to my heart and lungs. Then she told me she wasn’t concerned and that I was probably fine. That my heart, lungs, and blood work all came back great, and that the pain could easily just be from exertion, strenuous activity, etc. Around 5:35 she told me I could go. Nearly 7 hours, 2 nurses, 2 waiting rooms, and 1 doctor later, I get to leave. I considered bailing around 3AM. Because we were so tired and frustrated. The people were very nice, yes. But the hospital is like a maze to get out of and the general organization of the service was disappointing. If it weren’t for the fact that it’s a hospital and I can’t choose where to go in the event of an emergency, I would not go here again. I’m glad there is nothing wrong with me, of course. But I wish there was more communication and quicker service. I’m sure they only kept me there as long so that they could send OHIP a bigger bill.

Joanne Troy

I went to this Emergency Department at 10PM only due to that I was visiting family. I stayed at this hospital until I decided to leave at 530 am. One Doctor was on duty. The 20 patients that came and went after my arrival where all seen by the Doctor and discharged. I was told twice that the Dr knew I was there. I asked once at 3 am where I was in the order of priority. My vision was becoming further compromised and at 530 am I left and was taken by my husband to Mt. SINAI downtown Toronto from where I live. I saw an emergency Dr. In 25 minutes. I was taken to surgery and my vision was saved. If its a serious condition do not recommend this hospital

My son & his wife just had a baby born Oct 4th my Grandson weighed in at 5lb & 14 ounces a premie.

My mom was recently taken to the emergency room at Oakville hospital and I can’t thank all the people who took care of her enough. She wasn’t feeling well for a few months prior to going to the hospital and had visited her doctor and had gotten tested, for various things without any successful diagnosis. By the time my dad took her to the emergency room, she had so many unrelated symptoms that we really didn’t know what’s going on. The Oakville hospital medical staff were so kind, understanding, and concerned about not just my mom, but also my dad too. They did all the necessary tests and realized that she possibly has cancer. They kept her at the hospital for about 2 weeks and made sure that she’s safe to go home. During the time that she was in the hospital the care that she received was amazing, all nurses were so caring and wonderful, her doctors were so knowledgeable and brilliant and had great positive energy about them, they gave so much hope to my mom and all my family during such horrible devastating circumstances. I came back from US last year and comparing what I saw here vs what I had seen in US, there is just no comparison. Here it’s soo much better!!! Canadians have to appreciate all the wonderful medical services and medical facilities, and the amazing people who work in it. These people are all angels. I appreciated all that they did for my mom and loved the beautiful amazing modern Oakville hospital. Loved it and totally 5 star.

My grandmother just got back from surgery. The surgery was great, however the staff, not so much. An 80 year old woman spent 30 minutes in the bathroom at night because they forgot her there. Twice. My grandmother was given pills that were NOT prescribed for her, and they can't find out who gave them and what they gave her.

Very well laid and great doctors

A few months ago I went there several times for pain but an old male doctor without hair refused to check MRI or CT for me. Went back home without solving any problem. Just one week later I had a bleed in the brain during night, called ambulance but unfortunately I was sent to this same hospital that could do nothing. They had NO DOCTORS, no brain doctors to do any surgery. Luckily I was sent to St. Michael's Hospital in downtown by helicopter (from St. Michael's) and finished my surgery right away. The old doctor without hair then was afraid of being sued, called my mum and handed over his name card LOL. What a hospital, with unprofessional doctors what can I expect... will never ever trust this hospital even if I have to drive longer distances to other hospitals.

Very very poor experience, the nurse cannot injections!oh my god!My arm was swollen for three days

haval Azad

Understaffed and 2 hour waiting for emergency

Rebecca Luo

Great emergency service. Nice staff. Best hospital.

Mike Prosser

Went today due to workplace injury. Was treated in triage within 3 min of walking in the door. Then sure normal hospital wait times But all in all I was in and out and discharged within 5 hours.

aleksandra ceko

There's only one doctor that works there that actually does his job properly, and maybe one nurse. The rest? What a shame! If you can't have bedside manner, you're not a nurse. It's about comlassion and CARE. No amount of schooling will help you with that, I guess you just have to be a good person and unfortunately the earth is lacking. I would rate this hospital a 0 if I could.

Samantha Chung

Very rude inefficient staff. Had to lie down in hallway as there were no stretchers left. Nurse told us to get out of the wheelchair because she didn’t want to get a new one from elsewhere. Was in severe pain. Security guard asked if okay but not nurses. Would never come back to this terrible hospital. Terribly managed. Go to any other hospital but here. This one is garbage.

Cathy Lanc

My daughter was in Emerg, being monitored for a head injury. The staff was excellent: knowledgeable and helpful. The care was of the highest quality and of course the building was beautiful and very strategically planned for the most comfortable stay possible.

Mike Anderson

Incredibly disappointed with the poor service my family and I were given at this hospital, will not be returning any time soon. I do not recommend this hospital to anyone. Really puts into perspective, the cost of free healthcare.

Tash

I have been to this hospital twice for 2 separate situations. 1 having my baby: the experience was amazing !!! This was my first baby and I was terrified but the doctors and nurses made a huge difference in how I felt. I had a few complications and i couldn't of been happier with how it all went, because of them I wouldn't go anywhere where else. They were fantastic. 2nd time was this week (feb 2017) i went to emerge and I thought I was going to be there till the next day waiting but it was fast and they were really busy that night (in and out in 4- 5 hours) Again the nurses were so nice and caring. I refuse to go any were else and it takes me 25 to 30 mins to get there, but they are just to good to even think of going anywhere else

Sarah B

Wait times suck. I was in emergency and most of the nurses were fooling around.

Anas S

WE delivered out baby there and the staff is great Martina the nurse in maternity dept was just amazing

Ibrahim Asadullah

They shouldn’t be charging money for parking. Especially when you are driving yourself to the ER. It makes sense for visitors, but if you’re ill and you’re faced with a potential $20+ parking bill, it makes you think twice about going. Not happy

Otilia Biondi

Great doctors, attentive staff, beautiful and clean facility.

Michael “Mikey” Fu

Everyone was great but Maria Estrada was very rude and ignorant.

B M

Complete lack of empathy and negligence during the passing of my aunt. Complete disregard for her belongings. Lost her wedding and engagement rings and tried to give us some randoms bands instead. Didn't think telling us she was in decline, we would have been there but instead, she was alone. Absolutely gutted. Hopefully someone "finds" my aunts rings and does the right thing and returns them, so my family can have them.

Steven Hao

Had a fantastic experience getting vaccinated here, the staff were welcoming, efficient, and schedules went smoothly

Mina J

I have to go to hospital every week and pay the expensive parking fee! Unfortunately there is no discounts to buy weekly or monthly parking passes. It doesn’t make sense to spend this amount of money to park your car in a hospital!!!

Irene

This hospital has been my go-to for many accidents that I have encountered. Wait times can be long. I would give them a 5/5 but one time the doctor lost my files and I had to wait another 3 hours. Best time to go is around 3-4am

Byron McNabb

My wife gave birth to our first child this past week and I have to say we have nothing but positive things to say about the entire experience. The nurses, doctors, and team we encountered were all phenomenal! The rooms were clean and all aspects of the experience were professionally handled. Thank you to everyone at the labour ward.

S A

I’ve been there once to get my abdomen ultrasound done,My appointment was at 3:20pm and it took me one and a half hour to see someone passing by on earth and deliver my massage to the other person in charge in Ultrasound department.During this time there was no other patient leaving the rooms, so they were not busy with patients. Instead, I was hearing a Birthday celebration with exchanging gifts and so on.At the end of this somebody showed up and actually did her job. After that,I had to do another ultrasound in this place so they booked me for April ,but I would like to cancel it and book it somewhere else,It’s been couple of days I am calling to just cancel my appointment ,still nobody picks up the phone,no answering machine ,neither a cancelation option on the website.Probably another Birthday party is going on.

Vani Anand

Emergency is a joke, expect to spend your entire day waiting. Staff is rude.

Sydney Nanton

I dealt with 4 nurses and 1 doctor. (Doctor Ben) and they were all so pleasant even at a late hour. First time at this hospital and I was really happy despite being sick obviously. Good job Oakville!

Puneeta Malhi

Donot go this hospital worst hospital i have see in 7 years in GTA. Rooms are dirty, no staff help and staff is very careless and no rooms to accomadate patients in emergency. Very bad and filthy hospital. Very Very long wait for no reaons . No doctors available on time and has to wait infinite time for simple test.

Zubi M

The worst emergency room to take a sick toddler to! We took our 18 month old daughter in as we suspected she pneumonia and she had developed high fever overnight. We’ve been in the ER FROM MIDNIGHT AND ITS 6 AM NOW AND WE STILL HAVEN'T SEEN A DOCTOR! The wait was estimated to be 2 hours and it’s 6 hours now, with no word on when the doctor will come by. Better to just go to Toronto hospitals, they are quicker!

symbolistic whitewalls

Terrible experience. The crisis nurse, Dianne, an older woman that has a stoic look, and probably detests her job, yelled at me without any empathy. She coldly yelled if I'm "SUICIDAL OR NOT?" Pretty unacceptable when you're trying to be calm, and need help. I opted not to stay because of fear that this was a "prelude" to being on the ward. Reported her.

Oliva Services The Best Oakville Carpet Cleaner

Most amazing brand new hospital in Oakville. Very good , equipped with modern technology!.

Florence Kan

Not bad at all - came in wtih my daughter to ER with a fever, was seen at triage almost right away. The whole visit still took 6-8 hours, but they did a bunch of tests and the doctors always were more cautious to be safe. No hospital visits are fun, but at least they were friendly!

Marlo Bilotta

i been working at OTMH for almost 2 years and i am a transporter and everyone is really nice i call this place my home. i love the people and stuff they treated me like family and i treat the people i transport my family if you are looking to work here i really recommend it

Christina Nielsen

I had Day Surgery at this hospital today. I was so impressed with each and every staff that I encountered. I was treated with respect, well cared for and informed. From the volunteers to the doctors, this beautiful new facility is filled with top notch staff. Thank you to all who helped me.

Y W

great doctor and very patient.

Gina Ramsay

Thankyou to all the Staff working at the Vaccination Clinic. What an incredibly organized, straight forward process. Friendly staff willing to help with any questions or concerns.

Eddie Gulla

The worst service I have ever seen they treat people like sh.... t

Mike Robertson

It’s a busy hospital

Tyler zhang

Hey, this place is very clean! They have nice service too.

Leanne Menchella

By far the worst hospital I have EVER gone to and I am not the only person that has experienced this. Clearly all their fancy new technology doesn't replace the fact that they have no idea what they are doing. I went with my 10 month old as he could barely breathe and was coughing constantly - he had a slight fever but nothing to be too alarmed about it was mostly the breathing. I did not get anyone come to the 30 person line to check in on the infant that couldnt breathe - thankfully people let me infront as they were more concerned than the staff only to go through triage and wait another 5 hours TO SEE NO ONE AND HAVE THEM TELL ME THEY DO NOT KNOW WHEN THE DOCTOR WAS FREE - I drove straight down to SIckKids and was admitted with him in 25 mins - Save yourself the headache and find another hospital this one is the WORST

Abigail Jean-Marie Fletcher

Unbelievable huge mall calling itself a hospital with no staff very confused as to why im sitting here with no help........came as a refered client and not a soul in site going on 15 minutes past my scheduled appointment and no other patients or doctors to be seen very creepy

Sensor Health

I've been there for the X-Ray, Ultra Sound, Hospital, and Fracture Clinic more times than i want to admit and the staff and experience has always been great. I couldn't feel more comfortable and safe anywhere else and I am extremely picky. You have to be your own advocate, be wary and question everything, but so far, I have lots of faith coming here.

John Johnston

Beautiful building and wonderful staff.

Shakti Sharma

So thankful for Dr. Lam and all staff. Dr. Lam has worked on both of my eyes. With Keratoconus in my right eye being too advanced, he performed a corneal transplant. Just a couple of months ago, he had performed corneal cross linking in my left eye, at Lasik MD located in downtown Toronto. Both procedures were handled with so much care. I’m just so thankful that people like Dr. Lam are around. He’s very educated and knowledgeable, but I also appreciate his patience throughout everything. His job is definitely not easy, but it’s truly changed my life for the better. Thank you for everything!!

Adnan Khan (Match Point By Dr Adnan)

Very good, beautiful

Ashley Shevalier

I had to undergo surgery here and everyone made me feel so comfortable 10/10 amazing staff. Jessica was my nurse and she was hilarious!

Trish Derlick

I went in wit h a broken foot. The staff were so super friendly to me, and they fussed over me even though I told them they really didn't have to. The facility was huge and clean, the wait time was not nearly as long as it used to be. All together a nice experience despite the busted foot :)

Thais Vitalli

The hospital is new and great! All the staff treated me very well. Highly recommend!

Ridvan Asan

Came here 3 times for an emergency and all times had to wait over 6-7 hrs this last time it’s been more the. 5 hours and still haven’t seen the doctor yet. Only way to get it faster is to come in with a nurse friend. These people came way before us talked to the nurses working and went straight in to the room got their blood taking and they were ready to go while we wait there for hours. I have all the info of the nurse that was working that hour and room that patient went in. This isn’t cool at all... very very unprofessional where all the other people waiting in pain and other walking in causally and getting checked.........

Hayam Alzughaiby

Waiting for almost 2 hours now and I’m still waiting for the doctor to check my 11 years old boy. Not crowded no urgent cases . My son fell down from the stairs on his head . Have no idea what are they waiting for

Sam Can

Neat and clean, excellent staff. No wait time.

Basma Salem

Update: Added 1 extra star because the new staff are MUCH better. The ICU staff are great and took great care of my grandma who was having a heart attack. Only reason I am giving a 2 star is because in the general unit, 5th floor 200s section I have seen a couple of people, including my grandma, try to call the nurses and their calls have been ignored. This seems to me like a human rights violation towards vulnerable people - especially that many are senior patients. It really does break my heart that some staff have become almost numb to the basic needs of patients. If this was your grandma, would you treat them the same way? It just makes me very very sad that vulnerable populations in this country are treated this way.

Barbara Ford-Pimento

Used to be really good when it first opened, but my experiences have gotten progressively worse and worse. Plus wait times are getting longer and longer. Further, I have left numerous messages for Patient Relations and Unit Manager regarding a significant and specific concern but they couldn't be bothered to even give the courtesy of a return call. Incredibly disappointing.

Akshata Patil

Couldn’t have asked for a better labor and delivery experience. All the nurses and doctors were extremely patient and made my experience of having my first baby a memorable one!

Andrea

The nurses are angels from God, they tread me with love and kindness when we had our baby boy here

Faial Heating and Cooling Inc.

If I could give zero stars I would. My newborn was there with my wife for 12 hours finally fever broke and nurse administered medication before checking temperature which was the opposite orders of the doctor. He is 6 weeks old full of pain no body cared. Bunch of zombies work here with no heart or compassion. Worst care I’ve ever seen from any hospital. Do not take your children here!!!! 0 stars

Hospital is good. But the parking is very expensive. The have lots of parking available but still they charge 3.5$ for half an hour. I paid 18$ when I visited for an emergency which is too much.

George Zabarelos

If a loved one ever gets very sick, do not take them to this hospital. Doctors don't have a clue what they're doing at this hospital. Go to Toronto, St. Mike's, Sunnybrooke, etc., but stay away from this place.

Maurice and Sharon Hadida

I went into the emergency room on the 18th with an very abnormal extremely extended abdomen. I have a history of kidney stones and other health problems. What seemed to be going well was nothing but absolute discrimination and medical negligence. My husband had to ask after being there for 1 1/2 hours if a nurse would be coming to see me. At that point I should have said let's go but I gave them the benefit of doubt that they just make a simple error forgetting that I possible could have a blockage. In any case I see the nurse and was gave medication to ease pain. Another couple hours go by and I finally see the doctor whom ordered a ct scan and more medication I get the medication but they forget about me again saying it was a miscommunication that I haven't received my ct scan now going on 5 1/2 hours My husband and I find out that someone who came in after me received his ct scan and 1 1/2 later he had his results. So, I request a copy of my ct scan and blood work also the copy of my emergency visit I get a copy of the blood work, only page 3 and 4 of the ct scan that was not done that night it has the date on it from 2020 and a different hospital. I don't receive the emergency department sheet and told that 7.1 mm kidney stone is nothing to be worried about. Not to mention when I questioned about the cyst on my ovary and the lesions on my uterus I was told ct scan does show that. I am being majorly discriminated against and facing medical negligence all because I made a complaint into the college of doctors against a doctor who injured my arm 4 years ago since that time I have been faced with medical malpractice. I even had my previous doctor make false accusations against me and every hospital has been following along with the flags against me and as well the false accusations against me. I am disgusted by our medical system and these so called health professionals. My videos, pictures, emails and other evidence doesn't lie.

Excellent hospital and staff. The doctors and nurses at the maternal child department were skilled and friendly.

Family Room

Always had a good experience at this new and improved hospital. Sure the staff may be imperfect but they are certainly much friendlier and more professional than other GTA hospitals (like Mackenzie Health Richmond Hill). The building is beautifully designed, providing ample walking space in hallways, lots of parking, indoor shopping galleria, and most inpatient rooms are private (I think around 80%). If you do stay as a patient, you will also be given a meal menu that allows you to custom order your meal (or snack), whenever you want the food (rather than a standard meal being delivered at a standard time). Finally, and perhaps most importantly, OTMH has very strict Covid-19 policies in place - which is expected and appreciated. Keep up the great work y’all!!! We stand by you!!! ????????????????????????

Andrew King

Have made several ER visits with myself and my wife and take my wife regularly to two clinics within the hospital (kidney and diabetes). Have always received caring attention and the highest quality of professionalism. The new building is huge but very accessible and provides many patient comforts. Modern health care is not a waste of money at all.

Greg F

The care is superior. Thoughtful nurses and doctors. Note to family of a loved one admitted, get your loved ones healthcard back asap. My Mother's card was not with her belongings when she passed away and none of the departments she was in could locate it. Security included.

Robert Boc

Great Staff , Great Doctors and Nurses! A well organized Hospital and so easy to get information from any staff member!

Aura Davila

Worst ER service, the nurses were so rude since the beginning, It takes forever to see a doctor here, .more the 3 hours waiting and it was no people in the ER, the nurses were doing nothing when you ask them when the doctor going to see you, they got mad, I'm the one sick, I left first, it would take forever to see a doctor and I was so frustrated about their rudeness. I paid my taxes to receive this type of service. Terrible personal, no doctors and rude nurses, no polite or helpful at all

Monique Dickens

Hospital staff always treat my mother with dignity and respect. The lady who takes her blood, Prab should be training staff province wide, she is phenomenal. Thank you Oakville Trafalgar.

Michael Collins

Wonderful hospital great staff.

Danielle Di Lillo

Worst hospital! The wait is way to long. They are obviously understaffed! We are sitting in waiting room for 5 hours...All of the rooms were empty but and haven’t seen a doctor walk in the waiting room in quite some time. One nurse on duty!!!

Dunia Anas

unfortunate bad experience at emergency

Maggie Rose

The staff and nurses here are absolute trash. Was trying to visit a family member in the mental health unit and they tried to usher us out in less than ten minutes. Not only that but they brought out security, making the situation that much worse. The people working here have absolutely no empathy for their patients.

mary elliott

Took excellent care of a family member and we are very appreciative.

YZA YZA

Please train nurses in birthing department, I just gave birth last week and worse experienced so i won't recommend this hospital to anyone and i won't never ever go back to this hospital anymore. Nurses are so rude

Michelle Fernandes

I've been to this hospital 3 times. 1st was September 2017 I was in severe bladder pain which I had been experiencing for 3 months. That night was particularly bad and I needed help. The doctor at emerg did one urine test and said I don't know whats wrong with you and gave me a medication he said would help me sleep and help with the pain. after leaving I found out it was antidepressants. The second time was December 2017 when I was in severe pain again and peeing blood. Emerg did one urine test and that I needed a cyctoscopy. I was told it was impossible to do a cycstoscopy at the hospital because they don't do them at that hospital and non of the staff where able to do one. Skip to today Jan 24th when I actually get a cycstoscopy (which I should mention IS AT THAT HOSPITAL) I was rushed through uncomfortably. My doctor said my bladder looks fine and sent me away with 6 months of antibiotics even though I have no infection and I've tried these antibiotics before. I am 20 years old with chronic pain for the past 5 months with 0 answers and feeling lied to and uncomfortable.

Kai Ruhl [Student]

People complaining about wait times obviously don't understand how hospitals work. For me, the wait times here have been average for a hospital and I rarely find myself waiting for hours in the ER. Staff are very kind and understanding. Never had a bad experience here. I always come here instead of Jo Brant even tho I live in Burlington. Thank you OTMH!

Shalin R

We went for our COVID Vaccine . It is a very well organized system that they have in place. The parking lots are available at no charge. While the lines may seem long, they move very quickly. A big heartfelt thank you to the staff and volunteers who are working hard to ensure we get vaccinated as soon as possible.

fungai jura

Absolutely deplorable ER service

Yan Marshal

This Hospital Is New And Very Organized. The Staff Are Friendly, Efficient And Accommodating. Well Planned Out And Built. Beautiful Facility With "State Of The Art" Equipment And Knowledge Staff.

Ray O.

One of the best hospitals in the area. Parking is easy, staff are professionals and friendly. I am fortunate to have this hospital in the town I live.

Maqueen Esguerra

The staff in the emergency are needs improvement especially when its emergency. My mom got an accident hit by a can and fractured her face but the staff didn't care if its gone really bad or not (took and bring by the ambulance). Waited for 3 hours before they checked her.

Liza Muise

Spent many of days here, would have to say the nurses and doctors here make the visit a more pleasurable experience. Just walking into this building you feel as though your not in a hospital. Would highly recommend this hospital over all others in the area. Oh to all the nurses on 7 floor you all are amazing ladies and deserve more credit for all you do....miss you all but won't be back anytime soon.

Janet Russell

Had an MRI on January 14th 2021. The entire experience was incredibly good compared to previous time with the Old Hospital. Each Technician was Polite, Professional and Caring.

had surgery on my collarbone here. don’t know what I’m doing reviewing a hospital but oh well.

Alex MacDonald

You’re better off sitting at home and dying, waiting 3 hours to be told they can’t help you is ridiculous, nurses treat you as if you’re just an object. Lack of empathy is enormous.

Davorka Pelikan

Amazing hospital, very big, clean and good staff. The food courts are delicious, something for everyone, the shopping is great. Drs and Nurses are very patient, helpful and understanding.A modern hospital and well put together.Tv rentals and parking are pricey but what hospital isn’t.

I swear it's the luck of the draw with this place! I had Open Abdominal Myomectomy surgery in Oct 2017. I stayed in the hospital for 3days. The surgery was successful. It was the healing that was a chore and having different incompetent nurses everyday attending to me. I kept bleeding and Noone could figure out what was going on. They had a higher head come in. The nurses would ask what I needed done to help tidy up myself! For Petes sake your a woman...I'm a woman...don't you know? They asked me to leave the hospital earlier than scheduled; when I was discharged I was told a wheel chair would be waiting for me as they cut open my gut and to walk was very difficult. I waited for over half hour - an hour. So I shuffled and took the elevator. Thank God for the volunteer in the lobby who ran and got me a wheel chair. If it wasn't for her and a nurse in training with their attentive nature, I would rate this hospital a 1. I don't need fancy buildings, I and THE PEOPLE need service, quick efficient and accurate service!! Save lives don't try to kill us faster!!!!

Adam Tanner

The staff of OTMH have done an outstanding job during the COVID19 crisis. Thank you for your service.

Dave Oner

6 hr emergency wait time? It would make way too much sense to call in additional doctors to reduce that wait time...Wouldn't it.

Dylan Rogers

The team here works together very well. From check in to the cool triage rooms which are very high tech. Everything is very clean.

Amir Moallem

This is unbelievable how inexperienced doctors are in this hospital. If you have pre-existing condition, don’t even think about receiving professional treatment. Their treatment WILL add to your pain tremendously.

Amin Saif

Hospital Vaccination process : I am amazed with the streams set by the hospital for vacation, I arrived 5 minutes before my appointment registered in 1 minute and I was inside "John Oliver Auditorium" reserved as vacation hall in 5 minutes, another 3 minutes in a queue then got 1st Pfizer shot with very friendly lady. After vacation everyone has to wait for 15 minutes incase of any reaction. Also you can park your vehicle at East side entrance Parking lot no. 2, there is free and decent parking available at Third line entrance. Hope this is helpful for people visiting for vacation.

Rejean Rivard

Had to visit for dog bites. I was in, and out with stiches in about 1.5hrs. Not much waiting conpared to other hospitals. The staff were all in a good enough mood too, and I got Tim Hortons no problem, so overall my experience was good.

Sam Martin

Went to the emergency dept and the wait wasn't too bad, about 1 hr in and out.

Mohamed Abdelkader

Staff is friendly and professional yes, but who cares when you are left for over 8 hours just to START the diagnosis journey. Hire more staff instead of spreading your sugar coated lies for patients to just keep them waiting for a nonsense reason (no overnight staff) IN A HOSPITAL

James English

Staff 5 stars Services 1 star ! Was in the hospital a week ago for day surgery. The staff was amazing ! treated me like gold very impressed this time. How ever it was my first time in the new OTMH. Very confusing to get around. When I was settled in listening to music before my surgery I attempted to connect to the WIFI. A message came up $3.00/hr. With the price they charge for parking you would think they could offer free wifi to day surgery patients. We are there for maybe an hour or two. This has always been the way with OTMH nickel and diming you at every comer ! When you email them they give you the same pathetic answers it's to pay for services. What a joke ! Again the nurses and my surgeon where awesome ! To the staff of the day surgery unit keep up the good work 5 stars all the way !

I lost more than 1 liter blood. Went to emergency. Dr Carlson did some process and blood lab . Injected half bag of glucose water. She contacted gynecologist. Without ultrasound or any other inspection. She give a prescription for over $400/ month drugs. And let me go..... I contacted the gynaecologist that Dr Carlson referred for days. They couldn’t find my info. Luckily I made a copy of my emergency record. Gynecologist accepted me. Btw. While I was in emergency, it’s quite empty. Didn’t wait. Doctors and nurses were chatting and laughing. No one was waiting while they kicked me out. I thought they should at least give me some medicine to stop bleeding temporarily. They didn’t.

Sarah Elise Love

I came in after feeling confused and disoriented and I had fell and cut myself. Not one nurse cleaned any of my cuts nor did they bandage anything. They basically just had me sleep ans leave. This is health care? I told them I had a migraine and they were like you dont look like you have a migraine. I said how would you know uoure not me? Sad to see things fall apart everywhere°

Fawaz Alsheet

Amazing team from front door

My daughter was in to have her tonsils removed and we stayed one night. I must say, OTMH was a great experience!!! Clean, big windows, natural sunlight, nice view, beautiful art work, great TV, play room, super hero visits , comfortable bedding for parents , night lights , room service , free gift bag, friendly staff and it all ended off with a Starbucks latte, sitting by the fire place and listening to the piano prior to our departure at the main lobby. It felt like a hotel and all free (accept for the latte)!!! What matters most , my daughter had a pleasant stay and she's doing well. I don't want to be in a hospital but if God forbid one of us had to, I'd diffenately choose OTMH if I had the choice.

Jim Xavier Sanders

Professional, caring, sensitive.

Bushra Mazhar

Took my 64 year old diabetic , hypertension mother to this ER for stitches . She waited brutal 5.5 hours to get treated. The nurse was reported that she has had no food nor her evening dose . Even though the nurse said we were 1 patient away but the other ( Caucasian ) nurse bumped her off the priority list due to our race !!!! This was extremely painful & frustrating 6hours of my life where I saw my mom suffer in hallway with 0 help. We asked for Tylenol & we got it 30mins after . Pathetic & racist hospital staff working on aug 25 night shift in zoneC . Note - she was brought to the hospital in an ambulance as she had to call 911

Bernard King

Vast brand new hospital with a strong volunteer community to help all those trying to find your way aground. You definitely need it since it's an inveritable maze to be in. Parking is plentiful but like all hospitals in Ontario, extremely expensive. Larger mall like food court gives plenty food options. Wait times can be long depending on the department you are going to (i.e imaging), but the care is excellent (recent surgery experience).

Legendpanda_YT

A pretty good place and they help you when your sick and make you feel better.

Elvan H. Sevinc

My very first experience with the OMTH was walking through the doors of the Health Emergency Department as a worried family member. There is none better provided than the high-quality care from the moment of entering ED to the discharge! Next visit was for an awareness training session about a hot topic: digital-life-balance that will have the greatest benefit and impact on public health. I’d like to give a round of applause and big shout out to amazing piano players for bringing the joy and light to the day of patients and visitors. The live piano in the west entrance weighs in on my experience here, in a big, positive way!

Trudy Walker

Fabulous Hospital, Great care, wonderful volunteers and staff! We are blessed to have such a great hospital in our town!

Bilal Sandeela

I have worked with psychologists and psychiatrists for over two decades in over seven countries. I have never come across anyone with a worse bedside manner than Dr. Jeremy Ryan Butler. I urge you to go to a hospital other than Oakville Trafalgar should a member of your family need support. If you come from a Muslim family, or an immigrant family, i urge you not to go to Oakville Trafalgar even more. I found my care there to be utterly lacking in 1) Cultural Literacy, 2) An Interest in my Medical/Family History, and 3) Empathy.

Magdy Girgis

Doctor refused to prescribe medication against his own beliefs!!!

Andy Zhang

Waiting times are pretty long but it’s a new, clean hospital.

Jean Su

This is the worst ER experience that anyone that’s in pain could possibly imagine - nobody cares about how much pain you have and how horrible your condition is. Overnight shift is heavily understaffed - bunch of chatty nurses that are not professionally behaved and one doctor is running around 4 sections with multiple people waiting miserably. I have been bleeding heavily since 9pm and it’s after 4am now and nobody seems to care. For god’s sake avoid this hospital for good!

Angela Vale

This hospital is a joke....if you have elderly parents, keep them away. Once they check in they leave via the morgue. Nursing staff is non existent. If you are being monitored how do you have a heart attack and slip into a coma without anyone noticing. Where was the nursing staff? I take it that being hooked up to monitors is only for show and has no medical value. With all the fancy equipment and what I am assuming is experienced staff, you would find one who could read an x-ray....not this hospital. They ship a sick patient to another hospital for an x ray from a previous procedure to be read. Causing the patient unnecessary pain and leaving them open to all sorts of infection. Voicing your concerns or complaints to this hospital is a joke. The hospital gives you the same generic responses that has been posted on every ones complaint. I for one can't believe that in our once beautiful town has an albatross as a hospital. Wake up Oakville, we should not stand for this.

Dania Rifai

I got to the hospital payed 10$ parking . After I registered for a mammogram they sent me to the second waiting room . They said take a robe and in the locker remove everything from waist to top . But then I was to go back and sit in the waiting room again with a bunch of strangers and men going and coming. This is not the way in other imaging centres . Usually you go straight from the locker to the imaging room. And you don't need to pass through any areas full of men . Then after I got to the imaging room they said sorry we didn't receive your old mammogram so we can't do the image. The old mammogram is so old I don't even remember where I had it done . This is a waste of my time and money. I don't appreciate it.

Kezia-Alexis Mullings

This is literally the only hospital I will go to. The MRI imaging technicians are nice. I've been seen there in emerge as well all of the nursing staff were really nice. When I had surgery performed by Dr. Nicole Callan years ago she was absolutely amazing and all her staff were nice. I've had one bad experience in emerge but it seemed to be a case of an overly exhausted emerge Dr. which was understandable. I've been tested for covid there and that was a great experience. I refuse to give this hospital anything less than a 5 star rating because of one bad experience when I've been treated amazingly by all other staff.

Ethan Crawford [Student]

never been but its good

We feel like it's a great place that did there best to help my mom

Haris Khan

Absolutely amazing staff and doctors at the time of our daughter's birth! I usually don't write reviews but after this experience I think it is fair to name all the amazing people who helped us throughout. Dr Sabine Liske was our OBGYN when my wife was pregnant...very professional attitude and good guidance given all the way. Starting from the time at the hospital when my wife went in labor to when we left was awesome! Yes, I am going to name every single person who helped... Delivery staff was Dr Beth Cruickshank and Nurse Kasia; both amazing, gentle and professional. Anesthesiologist was Dr Anil Arekapudi who helped with the seamless Epidural process. Nurse Ruchi Kapadia, Nurse Holly and Nurse Lydia were great throughout the labor time. Postpartum care staff was second to none especially, Nurse Stephanie and Nurse Alex were awesome and later on Nurse Anna. We would like to thank all these people for helping and guiding us. They made things easy and we would trust them again to help us.

Colin Caseley

Quick services and great staff.

Antriana B.

It took them 17hrs to do a X-ray, NURSES kept ignoring patients. very racist clinic please stay away.

Mike B

I think this is a great hospital for the Oakville area. It seems like all of the state of the art equipment is there and that it is staffed heavily. That being said, because it's such a large hospital you have alot more to process. On avg, your wait time for emergency on a normal day will probably be 4-5 hours. I find the parking rates to be a bit high as well personally. But no major concerns to complain about.

Sandhya Maruvanda

I was very happy the way Doctors, Nurses and staffs at the emergency acted so quickly when my husband was brought with Cardiac arrest. They were very kind to ask me the previous medications and history of illness. Within 1-2 hours he was stable and moved to ICU. Even in ICU nurses were very helpful and acted what was required and saved us. I am highly grateful to even Paramedic team who performed CPR. I wish this kind of treatment will continue in every hospital.

I had an emergency situation at 5:28am Aug13,2020 my child broke his jaw and I called to ask if they do oral surgery and the lady screamed at me I told her I’m coming from Hamilton cuz they don’t do it here my child was crying and bleeding and she yelled at me then closed the phone at me the rudest person I have ever talked hope she goes through the same situation or worse

Not sure how to describe our experience. - We arrived to the emergency room at 9:00pm. Were looked after at 1:00am. - Staff and nurses were chitchatting, laughing and doing a lot of administrative work with litte signs of compassion to people in pain in the waiting area. - One staff member was on the phone, behind the desk, sounding like she was calling other departments with internal admin issues. Why do this at ER? - The nurse who finally received us was amazing. Caring, constantly udating us and apologizing for the delays. - The doctor who came and saw us was very good. Clearly communicated to us what's going on and what need to be done. - The waiting seems forever. - Do Not Park at the Plaza across the street (BMO).The Plaza has a contract with a towing company who has one of their "guys" sitting in a tinted silver Mazda waiting for preys. You park, cross the street and he calls his buddies. They'll tow ur car. $300 bill to get it IF they pick up the phone. - The hospital building is nice, clean and easy to navigate. - We paid $21 to get access to Wifi for 3 days...:( - Just Tim Hortons is open 24hrs at the food court. - We paid about $18+hst parking every day. - We were offered private room for $270/day.

Yolanda Meyers

My very ill 33 year old daughter (who suffers from severe mental health issues including Complex PTSD, panic attacks, anxiety, depression...) was not allowed to have her father with her in the emergency department. She needed an urgent medical assessment for invasive infection that had gotten worse. She was very confused, very ill and was told that there was no way that she could have her father there as her medical advocate and for essential emotional support! Without him there she would not be able to communicate effectively to medical staff regarding her symptoms, would be further traumatized and would very likely wander off and leave. Her dad pleaded with every nurse including the charge nurse who said there were absolutely no exceptions and under no circumstances would he be allowed to stay with her. She was emotionally very upset at this and swore out of frustration at the heartless way she was being treated. She was then told by the nurse to leave the hospital immediately. So here we are at home, my daughter is completely distraught and more traumatized than before we went to the hospital.! We have lost hope in the health care system and our daughter has lost all hope of getting better. What has happened to caring staff and helping patients in obvious health crisis? I am not only livid but embarrassed about our hospital's extreme lack of compassion towards very sick people.

Max Hansen

I can't move my wrist in a 9 level pain. Brought in the ultrasound requisition on Jan 6th and they booked me in for APRIL. YES... APRIL.

Kiran Ryan

We are indeed very proud of our hospital. The hospital itself is a masterpiece but what makes it more special is the staff. We want to thank the staff in the GI deaprtment. A special acknowledgement to volunteer Barbara who helped us with the wheelchair.

Rana Hassan

Its not emergency, EMERGENCY means you need right away Medical attention, but here eventhough you are having chest pain nobody cares you have to wait 2 hours

Shawn Brown

Great clean hospital, will go back again.

Guy Fournier

There should be a seperate review panel for Emergency Service because it is absolutely terrible here. My daughter is finding very difficult to breathe and is in severe pain but they say she can't lie down anywhere. They are full and she will have to sit in a chair with an expected wait of 5 hours until other patients start to leave. I have had to lie her down in the car in the parking lot while I take her place in the waiting room.

kristinaaMarr

Horrible customer service. I have been trying to reach someone in finance for the last two weeks and no one has yet to return my call. I also went into the hospital with my ankle the size of a balloon and they had sent me home telling me that my ankle was "bruised" and that it's safe to walk on it, came back two days later with unbearable pain to find out that all three ligaments in my ankle were torn and that a piece of my bone was chipped which was very evident on the x-ray but they still chose to ignore it.

Serge Zakrochkine

I have been in Oakville hospital for ultrasound.I came 10 minutes before how instruction says I had appointment at 12.45 but when I checked in, my time was moved to 1pm. Then I spent 10 minutes in line to check in again, than I went to waiting room, where spent another 45 minutes. Finally I lost half of the day just see this beautiful hospital.

Maria Hernandez

Nice Hospital. Dont wanna have to come back thou. I no like being hurt. Jajaja

Ashley M

A 9 hour wait with a 12 month old -- nurses were rude and not helpful. Complaining about "new system" that's why it's taking so long. This hospital is a JOKE and all the recent negative reviews are completely true. Also, stop sending an email for people to contact...they don't help either. Your "copy and paste" response to complaints sums up the hospital as a whole

Louise Florent

I brought my husband to emergency on Saturday and the care and consideration we were and continue to be shown is exemplary. A very professional staff who communicate every aspect of care that is being given. My husband's treatment was not done to him but with him and his family.

Susie Valde

Nothing but amazing things to say about the hospital, nurses, and doctors at OTMH.

Sam Das

My wife got baby delivered just 3 days back and the experience is amazing everybody is so helping always especially doctors and nurses but except for a particular nurse Carolyn.. the bad rating is the for the bad experience I am having right now tonight.. my 3 day old baby is now admitted to maternal child as her bilirubin levels were rising and we were shifted to phototherapy clinic.. the experience as of was very good and the problems started to pop up as shift changed and a new nurse came in night shift.. we were told by her that she will come around 1 AM to feed her and weigh her before and after feeding.. as the baby was loosing weight we were on 20 ml mom’s milk and 20 ml of formula.. at 12:30 my baby started crying as she was hungry.. I tried to reach the nurse on charge.. she came and did nothing and keep on telling do this and do that.. she told me to weigh baby before feed and told me to feed her by ourselves and added “We have to do it as she is our baby”.. small amounts of blood was coming out all of a sudden from the spot of blood work that was done in the morning.. the pads inside incubator was all having marks and I asked if it would be ok if the child can sleep on that pad inside incubator with having lot of marks of blood.. I was told by her it’s perfectly fine.. I was told if you want to change anything then I have to do it being parents.. we being parents of just 3 days old baby, should not be treated like that rude way.. my experience was exceeding my expectation since my baby was delivered but now it’s all spoiled.. now she told that at 3:30 we have to wake up, weigh her, feed her, then again weigh her and might be write down or record weights.. I asked will she be coming? She told not to wait for her.. this is awful.. I don’t know what’s going to happen at 3:30.. I’m not sure what we have to do or what she will do.. it’s a matter of 3 day old baby.. my name is Soumen Das(father) and I want to draw attention of management in that matter..

Jean K.

Hospital has good reviews, but if you donate hats for newborns, you never get a thank you card or internet response... Do they still want any? I get the feeling that they dont want any more..

Teresa Hawkins

Went to emergency and waited 8 hours to receive stitches. Department was flooded with people with non emergency problems. Triage was not useful. People! Go home and visit your family doctor or walk in clinic!

Karen Justice

Very disappointed in the hospital. Hurt my back could hardly move. Said to my husband go get her a wheelchair not" I will get a wheelchair for you" understand that you have to wait but did not seem very organized regarding people in pain. My husband just nicely asked the nurse why people who came after us and we're not in pain were being called. Very rude answer "it's not first come first see" shortly after got called and was shown to a room that basically a storage room. It was dirty, scissors on top of the counter? Some sort of food on the floor. My husband posted a pic of it. That was it he wheeled me back out to the waiting room and said to the rude nurse "we will wait for a clean room thank you" shame on oakville for trying to shut us up by shoving me in a dirty room. I work in a dental office and just recently had to take a test in infection control. Are you kidding me. This is a hospital it's supposed to follow very strict infection control. How dare you. Never again. I will go to credit valley from now on.

Jon Zelinski

I spent a day getting tested for chest pains. I was well taken care of thanks to the nurses and doctors. But i returned for a covid test and the nurse rammed the swab in mynose and scraped for 5 seconds. I have since learned the scraping is not necessary. I had bleeding from my nose for four 2 days after. For this reason I am only giving 4 stars

While the ambulance care was exemplary, the ER room was so congested there weren’t enough seats. And it was a 4 hour wait to see a doctor for my husband who had heart trouble. Far longer than at the older, Smaller hospital. Why did they build such a big hospital if they couldn’t afford to staff it adequately? If this is an example of amalgamation of health care, it gets a failing grade.

Terrible place. Awful nursing staff. Gave my grandfather the wrong medication, hooked him up to dirty TPN after a family friend (who's an RN) told the nurse that it was dirty. They are very patronizing, expect the families to be here to take care of our grandparents, don't communicate with one another, don't keep notes. Continuity of care with different nurses is very challenging and apparently impossible. The nurses are not careful when moving my grandmother (who's now in hospital) and have hurt her. My grandmother is scared of the nurses. We don't want to leave her alone with the nurses. Go somewhere else!!!

Came in ER with wife at 1Pm and after 7 Hours at 8 Pm still waiting for doctor to explain results ..She had serious pain and was sent by family doctor as urgent requested..answer is we are busy and approximately take 4 hours to see doctor and after blood test another 4 hours then urine test then another 4 hours.. you gotta be kidding with me .. that's not the expectation we had with new hospital.. Just leaving at 9 and lady with spikey hair in ER gave appointment for ultrasound when we said we can make it this time because kids ..she said rudely you have to follow it and walked away saying this is busy hospital has to be this time I even asked for other day she didn't even wana check and said no I won't and walked away.. so she doesn't eat after 12am and wait till next day 2:30 for appointment which will be late im sure hour or so ..stay fasting for almost 18 hours.. doesn't make snese with this Selfish and rude and inconsiderate lady or boy whatever she is .she should be working in coffee shop making sandwiches then working in ER dealing with people in pain..what kinda service are they goving to people.. with this attitude ..staff giggles when I'm frustrated asking to check if we can get other appointment ..they need to understand and get in people situations..we had serious loss and wife was upset and they dont care..dont eat and drink and just wait 10 hours till we have time for you.. They need to have someone monitor them and be effective and efficient..sitting and giggling staff doesn't help people in pain

Huge waiting time nurses are very unprofessional nice and modern but not for a patients

Greatest hospital in Ontario!!!!!! And i know my hospitals. I’ve been to 12 of them and have had 10 surgeries. Just had my thyroidectomy surgery there. EVERY SINGLE STAFF member was amazing. The hospital is beautiful, organized, clean, large, new, and just amazing. I felt pampered and cared for. My surgeon Dr. Mabini saved me from dealing with cancer. She did an incredible job. Can’t say enough about this hospital. I will only deal with specialists and surgeons who are affiliated with it.

10 hours in the Emergency room and still waiting!

David Lazaroff

I think if they opened up an Ice cream parlor in its place. It would serve the community better.. I was in there today for 0ver 3.5 hrs.. with the left side of my face numb and tingly, my left arm numb and tingly. and dizziness. all of this anytime I stood up.. I am 55 years old, so no longer a youngster. I was directed to an area that had about 14 people ahead of me. They took blood and e.c.g. quick enough. waited patently to see the doctor, Was down to 3 people ahead of me, and they called my name. .I thought I was next to see the doctor, considering I may have a dangerous condition, most people were in there with coughs. I was told they were moving me to a different section because there were 2 doctors working there, and I would probably be seen quicker.so I should go down the hall to another area. When I walked into the other area, there were about 22 people in the waiting area......WHAT ? ... So I sat down and began to wait.. AGAIN... I waited about 25 min. as I saw people with coughs going ahead of me, again...The last straw was when they called another person, and that person was about 6 or 7 behind me in line at emergency, when I checked in.. So I got up and left..But I am sure if I would have stayed another 4 or 5 hrs... I would probably, maybe, perhaps, have been seen... I for one, Will never go back there, even if my life depends on it...And it may have tonight.. Because I think if I did go back there with my life in danger, I may not come back out.. Not sure who is at fault, HOSPITAL Policies ie. Seeing , first come first served unless bleeding.. GOVERNMENT Funding ie. not enough doctors on staff, Or all of the People going to EMERGENCY.. WITH A COUGH.... OR MAYBE ALL 3.. Either way.. I stand by my rating... BTW People.. if you have a Cough... Go see your Family Doctor.... And free up important space in EMERGENCY.. Hence the name.. EMERGENCY.. Sad... I remember when , going to Emergency wasn't more than an hour or an hour and a half ordeal.. Not a full day outing UPDATE..... I have since seen a Neurologist, and she has confirmed that I indeed, DID HAVE a MINI STROKE.... I hope you are proud of yourself Oakville Trafalgar... I think if I have an emergency again, I will go to an ice cream parlor, at least I will die happy, rather than FRUSTRATED.....

THIS HOSPITAL IS A DISGRACE! What once used to be a descent hospital when located in Olde Oakville, has now become a waste of tax dollars. The signage will have you walking around in frustration as if you were lost in a mirror maze, while staff direct you with wrong directions only to be yelled at by numerous other staff that you are in the wrong room. Politeness is a lot art in this hospital. Came back again for surgery, where the rudeness continued. Bitchy rude staff jabbed my wrist with the IV then took me down the hall on foot to the day surgery room. Told me to jump on the cold table as if I was some sort of meat about to be chopped up, and began doing what ever they do without any instructions as to what is or will be done. Once awake, and in the worst pain after being cut open, I asked nurse for pain killers only to be yelled at for no reason. Then i asked for something to drink, where the nurse slams 2 cups down onto the table 2 feet from me and walks away. I'm glad she left me to reach 2 feet in pain for 2 cups which I had no idea what was even in them. Then family came to visit where they were rudely thrown out after 1 min. Family who waited in the waiting room said that the nurse from every other surgery came out to talk to loved ones and advise them of the successful operation. For my family...NOTHING! Then worst of all...they call my family on the phone whose been in the waiting room waiting on any kind of word, that i'll be downstairs by the south exit doors waiting for pick up. So much for anyone advising us post surgery on how it went, or how to be taken care of, NOTHING! Family got upset and headed downstairs only to see me arrive in a wheel chair in the worst pain of my life and unable to walk. But that doesn't matter to Oakville Trafalgar Hospital Staff! There motto..."Get on the table, off the table & out the door you go!" Still no paperwork or anyone to give us instructions on what to do next. But wait...the Pre Operation paperwork states "A Nurse will discuss all care instructions following Operation". Yeah, sure you will. Overall, if you have a choice, save yourself the headache and stress. Drive to Credit Valley Hospital where their staff is most friendly and signage actually makes sense. But if you desire the rudest staff, running around lost & figuring out everything on your own...Oakville Trafalgar is the place to be! Great if you want to sit a sip on your coffee in front of that huge fancy fireplace and read how many thousands of $$$ were donated by who.

Sat for 3 hour with a painfulll foot Doc came in said no gout no clot with his xray eyes sent me home .Went to family Doc Have 4 stress fractures in my foot Wish I was in the states i would sue

Nice staff good service

Michelle Scott

Wait time at ER was unreasonable. When we arrived, there was one patient ahead of us. It was 2.5 hours before a doctor saw us and by the end of our visit we had spent over 6 hours in the waiting room. That is not acceptable for people who are feeling ill and in pain.

F Bundschuh

If you have mental Health issues. Don't bother trying to get help at this Hospital. They simply release you. Even though you just attempted suicide.

Anna B

I was scheduled for MRI at 6 15. Came at 6 am .nobody was there no instructions . At 640 they told me that MRI starts at 7 am. Why did they book for 6 15. I spent 2 hrs there. They had a problem with a MRI machine . I paid $17.5 for a parking. Too expensive

Tecla Gabriella Arizzi

Very nice new hospital! The department where I'm going often is very nice!

Cooper Barron

I was in inpatient for a couple weeks there in May of 2017, and the staff there were very nice. I had to get other things done in the hospital, and everywhere, I had no problems. Doctor Brown for CAPIS is a very good, very funny doctor. The nurses were all nice, besides a few, but that's to be expected. The staff made me feel safe and they tried their best. I remember back to the inpatient unit fondly.

C. Anderson

I don't know what people are complaining about! I had knee replacement surgery and I could not ask for better care! From my surgeon to all nurses that helped with recovery, everyone was very compassionate and understanding. I am currently continuing to have physio at the hospital and the same goes for that department as well. It's not a perfect hospital but none are. But it's comes as close as possible in my opinion.

S

The worst Hospital I have ever visited. Even though the infrastructure is amazing the service is pure crap. No other word can be used to express the service provided by the nurses at the desk. Had to wait for 2 hours before being checked by the doctor in the Emergency Room. On being interrogated the only answer they have is there is a queue for the patients. If that was the case I wouldnt have come in as an emergency would I? I feel sorry for those patients who have serious emergencies. I would never suggest this place to anyone, please don't visit.

Tansie Aliawe

Incredible amount of money wasted in very inefficient health service.

Gwen Imbuido

The only hospital I'd go to. I live in Mississauga and if I need to go to the hospital, this is my go-to. They have all my records and my OB is from here. The wait can be long at times, but they really look after you. You are placed in your own waiting room while you wait to see a doctor, so no one else can hear about your condition. Clean hospital.

Michael Johnson

A good hospital, everything is up to date and clean.

Sam Assi

3 hours later and my wife and I are still waiting in ER for a doctor. You are moved through several different rooms (labeled zones) to give the illusion that progress is made. Mind you all of which have patients passed out as if they’ve been there for hours. The fact that I can take the time to write a negative review inside the hospital connected to their wifi after patiently waiting hours with my wife whose having troubles breathing is disgusting. Again it’s been well over 3 hours and not one person has spoken to us. The hospital is clearly understaffed and very poorly managed. Billions of dollars has gone into the facility, very little has gone into operating and managing client expectations. God forbid if we ever have to come back with something much more serious. Honestly speaking, if you have an alternative hospital/option I’d take it before considering Oakville Trafalgar Memorial. Although this hospital is minutes from our home, it concerns me to say we will be driving out of our way to another hospital next time because of the lack of service.

John Goodwin

I am beyond disappointed and shocked by the lack of respect to my wife who found out yesterday during a Covid test appointment two days before her surgery that her surgery was canceled by the the gynecologist without any calls or notice to her personally for this Thursday. Still no call from the doctors office after several messages. The hospital pre op secretary was shocked as well saying it’s awful the doctor never called and should have. More consideration should be given

Hala Ebied

More than 3 hours in the ER with my sick kid and her 2 little siblings and no physician came to check on her. And when i ask i get you have to wait and sorry you had to bring your kids! Very rude and inconsiderate.

P Coop (coop)

I went there today at 2:20 pm,emergency department. Didn’t look very busy at all, sat in 3 different waiting rooms, last waiting room full of sick people with masks on, asked about 2 hours 45 into waiting what the wait time was going to be and I was told (obviously not deemed higher on the priority list), I felt worse no nurse was checking on anyone, 4.5 hrs longer wait. why wouldn’t somebody of mentioned this. Not once was I told it was going to be close to this whatsoever, how can you expect people who are not sick to sit in the same room for 7 hours with people who are sick and potentially contagious wearing nothing but a paper mask, I paid 14$ for parking having to go to another hospital which I should be here for another hour, 2 hours in total.

Cathy D

ultrasound related: I feel for the staff in ultrasound as they are also stressed over the type of patient care and want to service the patience. The staff was very kind to speak to and help explain the process. Had to book an ultrasound for my 3year old son for his mast on feet and due to the type of ultrasound they only have one dr that can do it and the dr only is once a week. It is August and earliest appt. will probably be December. Only once Dr reviews the request in about 1 to 2 weeks will the dr. decide if someone else can review earlier otherwise if the DR needs to do test it will be earliest appointment of December. A lot can happen within 5 months.

Nelly Lama

Way too much waiting but great service. One thing though, they ought to have a page where one can get a message through to the doctor in charge. These can be vetted and he can spend 5 minutes answering really serious problems. I got a restricting cast that cut into my skin and numbed my fingers. Had to wait 3 weeks for it to be seen. Such a page could help such people solve their problems. But honestly staff are good at what they do. Some are friendly.

Pat d

As a physician who has worked at this hospital and has extensive knowledge of its organization, culture and practices, I seriously encourage everyone with a choice to steer clear this place. My own atrocious and disheartening experiences aside, I had to grapple with more than a few incompetent nurses and doctors who had no respect or understanding of basic elements of patient care and universal infection control. Nosocomial (hospital-acquired) infections such as Staph aureus and C. diff were rampant. The emergency department can be better described as an insane asylum or a slaughterhouse. The general attitude was that of belligerence, indifference and intimidation. Serious errors were covered up and any person who raised a concern or a red flag was bullied, harassed and blacklisted. I would not set foot in this place if I were near death and would caution everyone to be very wary of this hospital.

ZANE QURESHI

There’s no doubt that our healthcare needs more funding/more doctors and nurses; however, there’s also the aspect of how the current staff treats the patients. The staff in this hospital are fantastic, even during a pandemic, They care. The hospital itself is beautifully built, totally new and clean.

Barry Manilow

Checked into the new Oakville hospital with chest pains and dizziness. Spent over an hour in triage where they took patients with sprained ankles before me and sent me for an EKG. I also should add you can hear every patients reasons for coming into the ER, theres no privacy and the nurse will shout back your symptoms for the entire room to hear. Afterwards I was sent to zone c where I waited another 2 hours to find out that the wait was for my blood work. Here's the catch...they "forgot" to take my blood. Nurse came in to draw blood awhile later and inserted the needle incorrectly and had to switch arms. An hour after the nurse comes back and said they needed to redo the test because they didn't take enough blood. Here's the kicker...they pull up the cart in the middle of the waiting room with 20+ people watching. I had to ask to be taken to a private area for this to be done. Another 3 hours of waiting to be told that I should visit my family doc to be tested for anemia and vitamin deficiencies. Umm...you couldn't have done that while I was in your hospital for 10 hours? But please take some ativan home with you and goodluck. Worst experience ever and I will never go back. Don't waste your time here. I left feeling the same but with track marks on my arms from the blood work they had such a struggle with. But hey, the facility is pretty fancy.

Bhumik Patel

I didn't have a good experience. I took my mom who had a problem with her hamstring. The nurse was rude and just told us to go see a physio(we already did and physio told us to go to a hospital) and how it cost them a lot of money to do tests and stuff. (That's the whole point of going to a hospital). I don't know how careless the people are. We are paying taxes, it's not like the healthcare system is totally free.

Brandon

I've been to the ER here a couple times now, once as a patient and a few days ago bringing my girlfriend only to be talked down to in the most condescending mannor by an ignorant ER receptionist both times. That's the last thing patients visiting should have to deal with. On a positive note though the nurses and doctors were always very friendly and helpful during my visits.

Steve Brown

Basically told my wife she was close enough to having a baby that going home and coming back would be too much time but also told us they wouldn't keep us and to drive to Brampton instead. So we are in Brampton and I won't ever dirty the precious floor of Oakville Trafalgar again

Alexander Mayer

5 stars for excellent service and friendly attitude

Laurene S

I have come to this hospital to visit someone in the hospital as a patient. First of all there are no signs on walls to tell a newcomer where to go. Even the patient room the signs (number signs) are located above the door. Why not put signs on the walls to say where a certain floor is. Also patient room number should be at eye level. Staff on some of the floors are not very friendly. Takes awhile for the nursing staff to answer call lights. Difficult at times to get staff to do some things (provide care)for relative.

Gerard Beaulieu

As for the hospital staff nursing I give them a five-star rating awesome Hospital as for a Dr Vivian Ho in cardiology I give her a zero rating this doctor lied to me straight in the face and then had the nerve to deny it in the presence of another doctor has no clue with a difference of passing out seizure or sleeping when you tell somebody you're having a nap and you're deaf and you don't respond to them calling you does not mean you're passed out hello you're deaf you can't hear them.

Johann Bach

2nd time performing my COVID test here. Well organized, nice staff and nice facilities. Morale seems to be good among the nurses. And you get a parking permit and a nice yellow mask on release! To the preceding reviewer complaining about some minor discomfort from scratching with the swabs: it isn't a precise science but the deeper you go and the more you scrape the higher the chance of collecting enough of the virus to give a good result. My COVID infection was detected only on my 2nd attempt here, and the nurse went extra deep and I thank her for it. :)

Jer T

I don’t know why all this bad reviews for this hospital. I was just there this morning and I could not say anything but thank you to all this people. They are hardworking people who work very long hours!

Nigel Fisslebaum

A truly fabulous place! My experience with Dr. Harmon Fong how they treated me was extraordinary service. Two years ago I was brought into the hospital after having a stroke. The staff in the ER were particularly caring. The doctor on duty at that time was Dr. Harmon Fong and along with the terrific nurses that saved my life. The hospital staff were lovely.

Kevin H

Nice brand new hospital with nice staff (for the most part) but the wait times are quite bad, especially in Emerg. I don't know if they're understaffed but something is off.

Randa A

Went today (to ER) with my friend who had a shoulder injury... I can’t thank them enough.... all the staff were amazing and understanding .... thanks again

Mohanad Al-Gazi

I went for COVID-19 voluntarily testing on Sunday afternoon. It is not fair to leave the hospital without saying “thumb up”. Wonderful staff, they walked me through the process with professionalism. The signages are clear. The facility is meticulously clean. The staff were so friendly and efficient with excellent “human” touch. I see how much work put In the background to run the process efficiently and to meet the public health measures. Thank you very much ????!

Thomas Korzeb

Horrible receptionist

Thin Lizzy

Without a doubt this is the nicest hospital anywhere.Very clean, the young nurses seem to have a good time while giving top notch care, and the doctors are great. My wife is a cancer survivor and I have gone through a lot with her and have nothing but praise for this neighbourhood hospital.Job well done to all the staff and THANK-YOU.

Leslie Baldarelli

I had to bring my daughter here for severe abdominal pain. The initial nurse that we dealt with was so rude to us. I was extremely concerned but was told that she looks fine as she's not crying (she was doubled over in a wheelchair as she couldn't walk and she was very pale). Many of the nurses we saw afterwards were lovely, especially the phlebotomist who was absolutely wonderful. Then we dealt with another extremely abrupt nurse who tried to kick my daughter out of bed (the only comfortable position for her at the time was to lie down). I told her the phlebotomist said we could stay in the room as she was so nauseous and lightheaded. She explained that the phlebotomist was not a 'nurse' and could not let us do that. I ignored her as there were no patients waiting for the room. Some compassion for parents when their kids are ill would be much more appreciated than abrassiveness.

Justyna & Andrzej Tereszko

I visited this hospital for the first time today. I went through the Emergency Procedure with my son. We were surprised in a very positive way by the smooth flow of entire service and very friendly stuff. We got the consultation and treatment we were looking for. We were impressed not only by the new facility but the way how it is organised. Thank you to all people who we met today and who helped us to have a good experience. :)

David B

As a father of a chronically I child What type of hospital doesn't have a pediatrician on call? Then send you home after 12hrs in emergency to come back 3 hours later to meet with a pediatrician who wasn't told he had an appointment and left early. To credit valley I go.

A.S

I went there and I was waiting from 11 pm O'clock at 12:40 Am and many people was waiting with me in the emergency department and after I leaved go out to my home I will never go back to that hospital again never I didn't saw same like that hospital it's very difficult

Kristin French

Great place! the staff was so wonderful when I had my surgery!! 10 out of 10!!!

Anju Gowda

I went here for ultrasound, it was a good experience. Everyone in the hospital was courteous, professional and helpful. There are people all over to guide if you get lost. The hospital looked squeaky clean, not crowded and structured well. Their washrooms were clean as well. The ultrasound specialist was very kind and patient with my kid. She suggested what to do next and was helpful. Plenty of parking, so no need to waste time looking for a spot. I am giving 4 stars because the lady who called me to book an appointment for an ultrasound, didn’t give me the address, didn’t give me the name of the place, didn’t give me any instructions on what to do, how to arrive and if there are any formalities to follow. She just rushed through a phone call saying your daughter has an appointment and then gave me time, disconnected before even I asked a question. They can be a little more patient and provide instructions for patients to come in. They also have food court and gift shops which I found were very good. I would go back here again if there is a need.

D. A. C. Kay

Every person from the porters, cleaners, nurses, doctors, etc.were wonderful. My 4 nights 5 days stay were pleasant because of the people! Thanks OTMH. I gave the care and the people a 5, but as for the parking rates I would give them 1. Come on hospital why are the rates so high?!?!

Henry Ciszek

I had an oral surgery because of a facial trauma due to a bike accident on 16/10/2020 performed by a great dental Surgeon Dr. Barakat. Dr Barakat and all the medical staff at the Oakville Hospital were more than great, they were all fantastic. A great degree of personal care, concern for my well being, super communication explaining to me the surgery process and the aftercare were simply excellent. I am so grateful to Dr. Barakat and all the medical staff at the Oakville Hospital for the wonderful care I received. Thank you very much indeed.

David Smith

Hats off to the security guards who work here, today I visited here with my husband, a guard with green turban was very helpful and polite. It was a great visit.

Melodie Minor

My first couple of times at this was hospital were pretty great. I had a very good stay and was treated well. My problem is with the ''routine'' diagnostic images that are needing to be done, but are not. I completely understand that CO-VID has royally messed up a lot of things & has caused a lot of commosion in the hospital's especially. I am just very confused as to why I cannot get my MRI done or my EEG done--the receptionists at both places have stated rather rudely that we will never know when you can get them because they are not doing ANY outpatient imagings. I kind of find that hard to believe, as I have been made aware the Credit Valley are accepting appointments for these things. Just because they are routine, does not mean that they should be pushed aside and that they should not matter. Those tests are done and are needed for a reason, people could die if those are missed. I wish I just had some sort of guidance or understanding or kindness when talking to the bookings staff. I understand the chaos. But, these are important too. Kinder staff, more understanding & just basic explanation would make things a lot easier. I am now switching hospitals for all diagnostic needs. It has been 2 1/2 months and no appointment has even been set for either tests. So frustrating.

Allan Carr

Not my favorite place to visit but feel very fortunate to have it so close to my home. Sparkling new premises that have all the new features a medical center can provide.

Leslie Novac

Super friendly staff. Glad to see their covid restrictions are in place

shqiponja dedinca

Very disappointed in this hospital 2 different employees gave me major attitude One was because my 2 year spilled a bit of popcorn. Don’t hospitals have cleaning staff for a reason. And the other was because I asked where to go. Unbelievable. Im surprised at the rudeness. On top of this after 6 hours of waiting in the emergency with a toddler They somehow lost my chart ? I wasn’t even on the list anymore I have no desire to ever come to this hospital again.

Fredrika Janse Van Vuuren

Most importantly, the service and care given is outstanding. I have visited this hospital multiple times now, both for myself and for my kids. They respond very fast to children's emergencies , and did a very thorough analysis of my daughter's symptoms, including CT scans and blood work. They take you seriously and consider all possibilities. Wait times in the ER can be long for less serious issues, like four hours, but I was taken to a private room with a bed where I fell asleep comfortably. Let's be honest, this hospital is huge and new, even the staff get lost! But they are very helpful and will eventually direct you towards the right area. Take a book, a phone charger (outlets everywhere) and enjoy the shopping area and food court. B.t.w. the jewellery shop has some great deals!!

Tyler Gallow

Emergency service is atrocious, my girlfriend was admited to the er and it took 50 minutes in the waiting room untill she got a room, when we entered noone else was in the waiting room so she was the first one in line... 50 minutes that she was screaming in pain in the waiting room after an initial 2 hours of the same thing Update: been here for 3 1/2 hours still havnt seen a doctor whatsoever...

Yolanda S

Great hospital but there wait times are horrific. Why give you a scheduled time when they make you wait 2 hours. No one could tell us when the doctor is coming or if he's tied up with an emergency. If its for your kids and you can, go to McMaster childs hospital fracture clinic. They are more organized. We'll never come back here

Alberto Andino

One of the best (if not the best) hospital in Ontario. Extremely clean and with open spaces, they even have a person playing the piano. The food court is just amazing too.

Beverly Watson

Today I had my first experience with out new hospital. From the web site giving me clear directions how to get to the hospital to where to go once I arrived at the hospital in order to find where I needed to go, I was totally impressed. Everyone I encountered, from the volunteers, to the folks at the registration site and to the technicians I have nothing to offer by praise, it was a wonderful experience . Great job.

No Thanks

ABSOLUTE WORST FOR ER. 14 HOUR wait for a 2 year old with a fever going on since yesterday. APPARENTLY, they FORGOT we were in the room. So a patient could drop dead in their room and nobody would know to be honest. On top of that, the lady at Tim Hortons wasn’t going to serve me because my son has a fever. Even though you’re NOT DINING IN. She said usually there’s a security guard here during daytime hours asking these questions but now she’s in charge since they’re off duty. I explained to the Tim Hortons lady that I’m not eating the food here in the cafeteria and she’s being ridiculous - like I’m so hungry and tired waiting for several hours. Then she’s like, “Fine, I’ll make an exception but if you’re not cleared by a doctor you’re not allowed to get food from anywhere due to Covid.” Seriously, avoid this hospital at all costs. They will bill as many patients as they can and make them suffer only to tell them last minute that they’re understaffed and there’s only 1 doctor on call for the whole emergency department.

pablo reyes

This hospital is the best , young friendly staff who actually care about the patient. Service is quicker than other hospitals and doctors go beyond to get the best results. If your admitted to stay your in luck because the rooms are comfortable for you and family members along with great room service food. Unlike other hospitals they have more staff so they're not over worked and makes you feel more comfortable.

greg s

beautiful hospital and in my experience staff goes above and beyong and have great attitudes. i am glad this hospital is in my town. A+.

Stevie Cobblecorn

Hi all. I had hip replacement surgery one month ago. From pre op to the surgery to post op has been the best experience I have ever in healthcare. The hospital is beautiful but more importantly the staff were beyond incredible! Patient professionals who were extremely caring and knowledgeable and made me feel at ease from start to finish, incredible when you consider the new covid world they all work in. Thank you to Dr Zachowski, his team and the entire staff in Oakville!

Brian Macbeth

Worst emergency experience ever!!!!!!!!!! Makes jo brant look great. First and last.

emily marck

Best Hospital in Ontario! By far, best service, greet doctors and staff!

Elle Effe

Triage, including the doctor that I saw and all the other staff were very nice and accommodating. The issue I had gone in for was regarding mental health. At the time, I had panic attacks and suicidal thoughts. The doctor who saw me then referred me to their crisis centre, where I then saw a "mental health" nurse who had the worst bedside manner. She was very condescending and would not let me finish my sentences. She was very rude. Her name is Lisa and she has long blonde hair with purple highlights. I was in a distressed state when I was talking to her. When we got into a room, she asked my father-in-law and my husband if she and I could have privacy. The 5 minutes I spent with her, I was terrified. She made my anxiety and panic worse and made me totally hysterical. When my husband and father-in-law got back into the room, they asked me what happened and I told them. My father-in-law then confronted Lisa and told her that she had just made my crisis work. At the end of 8 hours, Lisa told me that because I did not live in the area (I live in Bowmanville), there was nothing she could do for me. She said I had to drive to Bowmanville to get help. Someone like her should not be in the healthcare field (especially "helping" people with mental health issues" if this is how she talks to people). She is lucky that I was not in a worse state. If she had done that to a person who was suffering more than me, I don't even want to imagine what would have happened to that person after talking to Lisa.

Was at ER today and no doubt this is one of the best hospitals. The excellent attention from the fantastic Nursing Staff / Xray Technologists was phenomenal. ER Doctor Lapp was amazing and together with his Nursing staff took such good care of me. Worthy of the highest praise ???? Thank You. Errol G.C. Byrde.

Helga Stringer

Have visited several times for mammograms, ultrasounds, heart monitor fitting plus regular visits to the Kidney Clinic and was amazed at the short wait time and excellent service. Beautiful hospital and fantastic service.

gurtej sidhu

This is probably; the best hospital in Ontario. The Doctors and Nurses go out of their way to make you get better. I spent a long time in ICU and still recovering at home..They made possible what seemed impossible.

Julianna Mb

Nice new building, although the nurses aren't friendly at all in emerge. I was extremely unimpressed with the care I got and saw other people getting.

Sid Acan

The hospital is modern but they charge an incredible amount of money for the parking and the internet. I'm also displeased with the COVID-19 gatekeeping volunteers that turned me away when I tried to visit my terminally ill mom, even though I arrived 15 minutes before the end of the visiting hour time window. I can't speak too much about the doctors, because I'm going to assume they know more than I do, but it seems odd that there's such a disparity of information between what the nurses tell my mother, what's on their documentation system, and what the doctors say. Their oncology department seems to be geared more towards pain relief rather than remedying the root issue.

Sanchita Chakraborty

Worst ER experience. Had to return without showing a doctor. Waited 6 hours. Maybe not emergency according to the triage nurse but it is an emergency to me for my health. Nobody wants to go to the hospital for fun... Extremely disappointed... MOREOVER WE ARE PAYING SUCH HIGH TAX FOR THESE SERVICES....

Wayne Carr

Hello, I would like to complement all of the nurses that took care of me on January 7/8th. The operating, recovery room and the nurses on the 7th floor were outstanding. I would like to recognize specifically Hannah Pearsall the night nurse and Melissa Armstrong the day nurse. Their care was exceptional.

Isabella Gibb

The people who write about wasting tax payers money, mine included. If they need to use a hospital they won't, because it is a waste of tax payers money !!! Where is the common sense in that.

Catherine Gaudet

I visited Oakville Hospital On Easter Sunday. The receptionist was less than welcoming. There was no eye contact and was very abrupt and harsh. I felt maybe I was in the wrong area and she was irritated. The lady who took my blood pressure was better but again I got the impression she didn't want to be there. There were 2 nurses in the nearby hallway giggling and laughing I was sent to another lady after that she wanted new information address phone number etc. since I haven't been there in 20 years and she was very pleasant smiled. I felt it mattered to her I was there. I was asked by her to bring my paper work through the doors down the hall and drop it into a basket. Upon doing so I asked the lady who was there if I was dropping it into the proper basket and she said" You will figure It out" Unbelievable that there was so much attitude in a short period of time from so many people. I was then asked to go into a room and change from the waste up. The Dr. comes and looks at me as if I shouldn't be there. I had discomfort in my left shoulder to my neck which escalated to the upper left side of my head. I had it for a few days so my family urged me to go to emerge taking in consideration my age and health history. The Dr checked my eyes felt around my nick and said you have a muscular issue see your family Dr.. No one asked me any questions about my health history. The extent of my health concerns was whether or not I had an allergy. I haven't been there in 20 years and you would think health history might play a factor in what my issue may be. I did not leave Oakville Hospital with a piece of mind. There was little waiting time but no quality time. Catherine Gaudet

Never bring your child here! By far the worst hospital ER I have ever had the displeasure of visiting. Sure they built it on a grand scale but I don't think they have the money to employ enough staff to accommodate the masses of ER rooms in the department. The nursing staff we have come across on our recent two visits had terrible bedside manner at best. Wait times are horrendous and it takes hours for a nurse to come assess your child. the hallways are like a ghost town. Go to MCMASTER.

Madison Bews

Wait time of about 8 hours. Took 2 hours just to get water. Staff are extremely rude and in my opinion, unprofessional for all the attitude they give. Nobody here actually cares about their patients mental health and from the other reviews, they seem to not care about peoples physical health either. The WORST experience of my life. Traumatizing.

Francis Couture

So do not go to this fracture clinic here Worst place to go be ready to wait three hours to get check out and put a splinter on Very very slow workers bring your breakfast lunch and maybe dinner cause your going to wait a long time

Sameed Gul

Dr Michael Tan, who working in the ER is amazing. Although I had to wait a long time for my aunt to be seen, he made it completely worth it. Very detailed in examining and does not miss anything and goes through each and everything, which is why it takes a while. But he is amazing. I would not mind waiting again just to be seen by him. Nurses were very nice as well.

carlos orencio

I brought my wife to ER, the staff was really friendly, despite of being a busy day in ER we were properly triaged and the waiting time was ok. The doctor was very professional and did all the necessary test, he instructed next steps. Overall our experiencia was GREAT

garrett balon

1st class people and facility

Chris Whitern

Customer care and trying to find out any information is disgusting. Go to another hospital is my recommendation.

Jessalynn Albin

The wait times at oakville hospital are absolutely ridiculous. No one bothers to tell you why there is a wait. They get you dressed into thin robes that are way too big and left to freeze in the waiting room for hours at a time. DISGUSTING!!!!

bcarebear

Worst experience and not a friendly nurses and staffs...needs alot of improvements especially frontline nurses..

Mizan R

Horrible! Visiting hospitals is a traumatic experience for everyone. But the nursing staff at the Oakville hospital try their best to make this experience as unpleasant as possible. My daughter has breathing complications, so we have had to visit various hospitals often. But we have never faced such ill mannered and rude nurses. The nurses at the Oakville hospital(at least the ones we met), seem to live in their own little bubble of snobbery. They seem more inclined on being rude with you than performing the necessary patient care. To any parent out there, I implore you, if at all possible please avoid taking your little ones here and take them rather to Sick Kids, it may take a little longer to get there, but believe me you will be thankful you did.

Ricardo Noblecilla

I took my 84 years old mother for Colonoscopy - surgery, yesterday. Everything went well except the recovery room. Kelly, the nurse in charge was so rude and tried to wake up my mom very aggressively when she was under sedatives. She pintched her finger and told her many times that she has to go home. The recovery room only had 2-3 patients when she was there, so there was no need to rush us out like that. I think that someone should look in to this immediately. It was an awful experience for my mom, and no other patient should have to go through that.

Bilal Mirza

Absolutely the worst experience in the ER, it seems like no one wants to do their job. Wife is 5 months pregnant had severe abdominal pain and could not sit is seating position, the nurses refused to give us a bed or reclining chair. Staff have so much attitude when you question them on your own health. nurses love to use the doctor and put the blame on them. Didn't know if the porter/transporter couldn't find you, nurse will blame the doctor?????? As I read more comments, I see the same B.S prewritten statement by the hospital. Staff needs to be held accountable. I don't know if this was worth writing. When they clearly don't care to do better!

Emma R

Dismissive doctors, abusive nurses, and failure to provide actual basic healthcare.

Peter Di Nino

Fantastic Fantastic Fantastic, Dr and Nurses were all amazing towards me and my family . .Wow Hats off to everyone here that made it comfortable and such an amazing ordeal , bravo

Rajan Flora

This office never picks up the phone. I have left 2 messages over the past two weeks and have not received a call back.

Nida Erum

Best hospotal.

Irina

I have recently delivered my daughter in this hospital. Dr. Cruickshank and nurses were extremely nice, supportive and professional. The only thing is when it is busy it seems like there is not enough staff. Overall I had a good experience in delivery and postpartum departments. Thank you so much!

Morgan “Zoe” D

I don't think this Hospital provides any customer service training for their staff. If it were a private company that relied on profit to keep it operating, it would be bankrupt. Staff that manage the phones need to actually like dealing with the public , if they don't, it shows!

Aaron Marcos

Attended meeting at OTMH a few times. Staff are always late. Doctor is always latest. They don't respect your time at all.

Salim Khan

Impressed with exellent services at podiatry clinic

Vishal Patel

7 hrs at ER and still waiting. 4.5 hours to get an ultrasound and another 2.5 hours waiting on results and doctor to review. Surely there is a more efficient way to manage this system. Wait times are ridiculous and facility definitely seems understaffed.

Elizabeth Morris

The attitudes of and lack of professional behaviour exhibited by nursing staff in Emergency is nothing short of disgraceful. The attitude, in general, is one of arrogance and disdain towards patients and family.

Deepinder Gill

TERRIBLE SERVICE. waiting so long for everything. This is so crazy, staff is on duty but not doing anything. Waiting 2 hours for an XRAY while no patient in line. Trillium health is way better than this hospital.

Olivia Sharp

My friend went here and this place is unprofessional! I swear canada is horrible for providing good quality health care. If you come to canada don't go to this hospital!

Adzo Dabi

This is truly the best hospital I've ever experienced. The facility is clean and friendly, far more like a mall than a hospital. The staff took the time to make sure that I was comfortable and understood my procedure. The after surgery care was a round the clock and each nurse was equally professional. I've unfortunately undergone two procedures here with one hospital stay and an emergency room visit and each experience has been at the level one should expect given our heavy taxation.

Paige Abe

Some gems, some trash but its not significantly worst than other hospitals and it's the nearest so alright. It's nicely decorated and usually clean enough. The volunteers tend to be nicer than the staff, especially the higher ranking physicians. I like the piano man, good tunes! Mum had a good experience getting her gallbladder out after they quickly identified her problem when she went to emerg. A lot of psych sucks at their job in my opinion, they're condescending and do not listen very well at all. The staff other than the psychiatrists and counsellors are usually helpful and civil though often very busy/rushed.

Dusan Ceko

As a hospital, you should be embarrassed to have people like you have working in the ER and front check in area (more so front area). Most of these people working there should be sent for social interaction training, be forced to take time to learn how to deal with humans and after, be fired. Such sad, miserable, disgusting people working here. Walking into ER with a passed out child, the front desk person asks, are you here to see a doctor? No I was just taking a stroll...

robert wang

Very good hospital!

Flor

Visited this hospital for the first time for a minor surgery! It was around 5:50 am Nov 18 when me & my husband arrived at the screening desk. A guy was there who looked like he was just forced to be there.. He asked the routine questions in a monotonous tone. He was even slouched on the chair while supposedly “welcoming” visitors. He must have worked all night and about ready to go to bed and I know exactly how it feels having worked 12hr nights for so many years but I do find his attitude unpleasant and unwelcoming! I suggest that he shouldn’t sit at that desk but rather be assigned at the morgue where he definitely would do a better job! To make up for the disappointment at the front desk, the staff at the day surgery unit is highly commendable. They were organized and pleasant and made me feel comfortable as I was anxious about the surgery . The unit was clean and chairs were appropriately distanced. In the OR waiting area, the nurses were efficient & courteous . Special mention goes to Anna, the anesthetist who addressed all my concerns ! Dr Bedi who I’ve only talked to over the phone and met for the first tine just moments before surgery was such a wonderful , brilliant surgeon! Overall, I am truly impressed about the whole hospital experience .

Steve Hartery

I had a surgical procedure performed on April 8, 2021. It isn't enough that this hospital sets the gold standard for decor and services, but the level of care by the attending doctors and nursing staff was exceptional. The nursing staff was efficient, attentive but most importantly extremely pleasant!

Luisa Angel

I don’t have words to express how grateful I am with all the wonderful people who helped save my life. The emergency staff and the on call surgeons. Thank you so much!

Elif Tokat

I had a surgery in this hospital four days ago and my experience was excellent. The staff is not just very capable, they are very motivated and caring. When I came for pre-op, I was lost , looking for the section in the hallway. I got noticed and helped by a staff passing by proactively. Everything was well planned before, during and after surgery, all worked as a clock and staff was well trained. They have a lot of volunteers too. The building is very clean, new and well equipped. You don't feel like you are in a sad hospital..with a pianist, bright, clean, large and modern spaces and a caring culture. It seems that the hospital management does a good job and the staff is hand picked and motivated! Please keep up the excellent work and don't let the quality go down over time as the hospital gets older!

Stan Glass

This will be my second try to contact you. My computer crashed while writing the first one. Your new Hospital is a marvelous looking building, BUT. it has turned into a place of sorrow. It looks like my Dear Wife, Carol could have to stay over Christmas. I am a Senior , moderately handicapped, and it is impossible for me to walk back and forth from the parking garage to her room. I have to content myself with just calling her on the telephone. It is very hard for me to do this. I have one consolation as , the Doctors and staff are very attentive and I know she is being looked after well

Mel Po

Dr Ben C in the ER deserves a promotion. He's like a ray of sunshine in an otherwise disappointing ER. Although the PA's are great as well. Maybe because they are young and aren't jaded yet. I have been to this ER more than I care to admit over the years, through all kinds of medical drama, and I breathed a sigh of relief when I saw his name on my chart. I'm a first responder, I get how difficult working with the public is and just how real burnout is. But I also realize that being miserable benefits no one, especially with a patient who has been through A LOT. It was a quick, pleasant experience for once. I received a confident assessment (no fracture!), reassurance, and a quick anatomy lesson. Great guy. #belikeben should be a movement at OTMH.

Imen Nouisser

Excellent hospital, highly recommended!

Ursula Dredge

Take the stores out and you'll have more room for patients that need them.....just saying

john werynski

Had surgery in December 2021. Entire process was efficient and timely. The nurses in the recovery room and PACH were friendly, responsive and caring. We are fortunate to have such a wonderful facility in Oakville.

Katherine BV

This hospital is a joke. The doctors and nurses in emergency have completely lost their humanity and respect and understanding for their patients. When you ask the patient what was their reason for coming to emergency... LISTEN to them, allow them to EXPLAIN what they are feeling, without rudely interrupting and talking down to them. I understand it's a tough job, but there's no need to be like that with patients who are in need of help.

Penny Kapetaneas

I've been in Oakville hospital many times. Each and every time have been dealt with empathy, care and professionalism. Love the staff from Doctors, nurses, personal care, cleaning staff also volunteers.

Gennady Sigal

I was taken to the hospital after my already not very good condition worsened. An ambulance arrived in a few minutes, the staff was polite, friendly, very quickly made the necessary checks and took me to the emergency room. How long have I been in the ER? Many people have already written here that they are hurrying slowly in the emergency room. I remember the great service at the old Oakville Hospital in the Allan-Reynolds streets area when they apologized for even a "short" wait like two hours. But I am writing here with the specific purpose of expressing my deep, genuine gratitude to a nurse named Benedict who looked after me in Unit 5C, room 330 at the beginning of March 2021. From the very first minutes, he treated me as truly a loved one. As if we are from the same family. He was attentive, patient, neat and very professional. If I had the opportunity to give him 50 points, I would do it instantly. But since I am limited to a 5-point system, Benedict and the ambulance staff: 5 points and a heartfelt thanks! Otherwise, I would give the hospital 3 points. Thus, on average 4 points come out. It is a pity that there is no way to separately mark the hospital employees but I hope the hospital management will take into account the excellent work of Benedict who works in Unit 5C.

C H

Not efficient, not friendly, poorly managed. Staff bring food, drinkings to work areas, not professional. A lot of money wasted on poor service. Prescribed the same testing within 24 hrs time period by the same emergency area. Patient has to remind them about that. Discharge patients without proper diagnose.

Pat S

Beautiful new building but same inept staff that came over from the original hospital. Mom had pneumonia and has dementia... if I wasn't there for each meal, she would never have been fed. Was kept in bed for over a week because Physio had not seen her yet...staff refused to even have her up in a chair! When I demanded go see Physio, they were shocked mom was left in bed. Friend went there for alcoholic withdrawal . . . wow!! No empathy at all, loaded her up with enough Valium to kill a horse, and nurses had no idea how to conduct the assessment for withdrawal symptoms. Who assesses the care in this facility ??

Barbara Frensch

Annette Peters, Xray staff, was amazing with my Mother in law. She went above and beyond, was professional, diligent, friendly and the hospital is fortunate to have such a competent, lovely person working there. Thanks again for your compassion.

Lyanne O'Leary

Just got back from knee surgery at the new Oakville Hospital. Felt like a 5 star spa. The pre op Area was bright and airy with multiple sky lights, heated pre op chairs that fully reclined, the operating table was heated and the post op area was also bright and airy with multiple sky lights. The level of care and the genuine concern was above and beyond. Loved my surgeon. He came to visit before surgery and explained what he would be doing, then asked “the most important question of the day”, who is my favourite band of all time. When they wheeled me into the OR, Crash by Dave Matthews Band was playing. Kudos to Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital and the wonderful staff for making what should have been a very stressful day the complete opposite.

David Hamilton

For a newish hospital I was disappointed. As soon as you get into the ER the check in desk is right there with absolutely no privacy at all. Grumpy check in nurse who was snippy with people as I watched her interacting with them, obviously not too happy with her job or being at work sadly. Check in and triage process was okay and not quick but not to slow either. Interesting process of how the check you in and send you to different areas depending upon injury etc. Went in and got a bed fairly quickly for a foot injury (possible broken bone). Sat in the bed for nearly two hours without a single nurse coming to check up on me or to offer ice, ask if I was okay or needed anything. They were visibly not busy and could be seen sitting talking while drinking water and coffee during this whole time at their desks. I get I wasn’t an urgent matter to get to but at least offer me ice or a pillow for my possible broken foot. Honestly just really disappointed with the lack of empathy and communication skills in general from the staff. The kicker was also that my sheet on the bed had some gross markings and stains. Further to the grossness I observed obvious blood on the examination light hanging over me that someone failed to clean properly. Sad overall with staff and cleanliness. It is what it is for a hospital but should be much better. July 17th 2019 - update - still terrible. Pregnant wife has severe abdominal pains and we go to the doctor who sends us to the hospital. We go and get chastised by nurse Gayle saying she has no clue what they can do for us. After 3.5 hours she finally gets seen by the doctor just to find out he wants an ultrasound but they closed at 8pm and she will have to come back tomorrow. What a joke of a hospital this is.

Vladimir Stoyanov

Awful emergency room. Should wait forever to talk to a doctor and forever again to get some help.

M Khan

Can you please come up with 2 or 3 day passes as I believe not everyone’s family is supposed to be staying in for 5 days or up to a week. Please do something about it. Thank you!!

Melissa Slater

As with any place, sometimes you will have a good experience and sometimes it will be bad.The few experiences I've had with going to the ER have not been very good. Very long waits even though many doctors on shift.

KTP

Whatever you do do not park in plazas near hospital they have contracts with Phil’s towing they’re out watching for anyone that tries to get away with free parking. You will be towed within the moment you turn your back away and the cost is $401. Oakville has no bylaws these losers get away with doing whatever they want and will wreck your vehicle in the process. Please spread the word save your friends and family a bill towing headache.

Labour and delivery and maternity left no room for improvement. Will return in the future no matter how far we may move

Olivia C

Went into labour and phoned L&D, the nurse on the other end was quite miserable. 2 hours later I arrive at the hospital to have the baby and the same nurse I spoke to on the phone was the one to admit and was still in quite a mood. Thankfully my OB was there and another nurse took over otherwise my delivery would not have been a good experience. I was supposed to be given a private room but was instead put into a ward for part of the time (a few hours) and then I was given my private room. They charged me full for the private room. Parking is ridiculously expensive. Had to return the next 2 days after giving birth and saw a Lactation nurse that was overly pushy and trying to convince us to clip our baby's tongue and she felt he may be tongue tied. She was quite adamant that it needed to be done and 2 doctors let her know there was no need for it. Not the greatest of experiences.

susan mckeane

Halton Healthcare called me at 11.30 p.m. on a Sunday night to ask me to arrange transportation for a relative, from the hospital. They gave me a phone number of a company to call who would drive the two minutes trip to his long term care place. Cost $120. There are so many issues here, least of all why are they dragging an old man out of bed at this time of night? This place is the biggest cash grab going. No care or empathy for patients or relatives.

Gehan Khella

I came to the emergency dept shortly after 8pm Fri Dec 2nd, 2016. I was registered and referred to zone C to be seen by a doctor. A Doctor came and saw me sometime shortly after 10pm. She ordered blood work in order to further assess my situation. After more than an hour of waiting for someone to come and take a blood sample, I went out to the nursing station and asked for how much longer I will be waiting. A staff member told me they are waiting for the blood work results. I asked how you can be waiting for results if no one took the sample yet. She called a nurse and asked her to take a sample as soon as she is done with what she was doing. After waiting again for about half an hour I went out again and asked why am I being treated like this? The staff answered that I have no right to talk to them like this. I told them that I cannot wait any longer and I’m n longer staying at this hospital. I called my husband to come and take me home. In a nutshell, after wasting almost 4 hours in this hospital I came out the exact same way I came in. OTMH is a great new facility with the same poor service we experience at our other hospitals. What a waste of taxpayers’ money.

Rhonds Bailey

It's a good hospital at least they care about your health

nadeem siddiqui

Visit there for covid vaccination, it was great experience. Arrived 20 minutes prior appointment and 10 minutes lineup. Got fizzer vaccination once vaccination done 15 minutes wait. Staff and Dr. Who did vaccination all were friendly. Thanks for make it happen.

Priti Bar

Respect and hats off to all staff but still sat for 3 hours with my kid just waiting and waiting. When I went to ask how long it will be, I was told it could be 7 hours???? Waiting time is too long for emergency. Couple others also left without treatment.

Trudy Posner

I would rate it lower if I could. Despite extensive medical history, family member was "blown off" with no medical workup of any sort. They came up with a pseudo diagnosis (which turned out to not be right), and then claim that they did nothing wrong.

Anna Lornes

It’s only the building that is nice. The staff behave like they think they better then you! Very rude on few occasions! There is no communion and even doctors never explain what they are doing! It’s not kids friendly hospital! Not even one toy in the Emergency or other waiting areas but lots of Tv’s like they supposed to watch the news and adult TV. Moving from Europe it feels like a 20 year step back in time

Ashley Sutherland

Nurses were fine but doctors were not good. And ultrasound was dreadful sat in er for 9hrs just to get an ultrasound to dx a kidney problem. Updated. Last visit I was in E section and forgotten! The staff walked out and left me in the DARK. Then the new staff walked in shortly after looking surprised. I was crying. They moved me to where they would not lose me again. And were confused why I hadn't seen xray. In xray discovered the poor tech was running xray and ct ALONE. Think they need more staff? I added a star because of some recent visits. The female staff I dealt with were amazing technicians who were kind and patient with me. I am hearing impaired so I don't respond right away if I can't hear you. I usually have to ask can you speak up please? But I didn't have to this time. I said thank you I think it shocked them, that a patient said thanks? Anyway still seriously understaffed. O am now waiting on an Urgent MRI. System is a disaster, and needs an overhaul. Not anything to do with staff....

I had to go to the ER, in Oakville few times. I have many chronic issues. Unfortunately, every time, the ER stuff is very disrespectful. They don't take your illness seriously. I have been told, that I could see family doctor instead of bothering very busy ER stuff. I had to call na ambulance do to chest pains and other symptoms. Once I received a treatment, that was really amazing. At tha point I had unbelievable infection and contacted our mayor. Unfortunately, even though I don't have gp in Oakville, I can't get treatment. It came to the point, that I ended up with sepsis, and another hospital had to do emergency surgery to save my life. I don't want to think what would happen, if the ambulance would take me to Oakville hospital that day. I had to stay at the Mississauga hospital for 2 weeks, on constant antibiotics IV. Not long before the surgery, I was taken by ambulance to Oakville hospital, only to be kicked out, because this is chronic pain. Iwell, this time it was gallbladder stone that got stacked. They didn't take me seriously at all. They sent me home, telling me to go see my gp. Even after I told them, that my gp is 100km away, and I was way to sick to drive that far. Unfortunately, I suffer from chronic pain after a car accident, so every time I come in, they automatically assume that I come in to get more pain killers. Not taking anything seriously. I got an advice from a specialist, to refuse pain medication, maybe they will take me seriously than. It's a joke, if it wouldn't be for Mississauga hospital, actually looking into my kidney infection, I wouldn't be alive today.

Moe ghazanchaei

what I am going to share is the same situation we had in Milton hospital and New Oakville Hospital. We had a case of emergency for our little baby which is 8 months old. we called 911 and they drove us to Milton Hospital's ER. At Milton they did not even process routine check up. Doctor asked my wife without touching the baby if there was any bruise on the body. They let us go home without any instructions. Baby cried whole night, so first thing in the morning we took her to Oakville hospital at Dundas / Third intersection. They did a great job at Oakville hospital. Physician check the baby for concussion and assured us there was no issue, then he noticed that the baby has problem moving one of her feet and immediately sent her for X-ray. Apparently there was a fraction just above her knee, and my little baby had to suffer whole night because nobody and Milton did a basic routine check.

I had surgery a week ago at Oakville Hospital and have nothing but very positive things to say about the experience. I was understandably nervous about the procedure but all staff were excellent from when I entered the hospital to when leaving 36 hours later. Despite staff shortages they took time to answer questions and put my mind at ease; including Dr Kwan the surgeon. I'm sorry I can't remember all the names but thank you for your exceptional care. Robert Bell

Nidhi Chaturvedi

Had very bad experience in ER twice once I had to return home at 4am after 4 hours of wait without seeing the doctor because there was hundreds of people waiting and only one doctor was available. The staff was so rude and blunt. Their response was like if you aren’t dying then keep waiting until you do. They have no sympathy or priority for babies. This time same situation I had to go ER on new year early morning as my lil girl was burning and had fever all night but same thing happened this time as well. A random nurse who has no experience keep coming to check your baby’s temperature and if her fever is down then you will become the least priority no matter what. Nurse Sara was so rude when I asked how long is the wait time as there were only 2-3 people ahead when I came and she said we will prioritize whoever we want

Rita Shulman

6+ hours in the ER for my child's severe abdominal pain. Back two days later for a scheduled ultrasound and forced to wait 3+ hours waiting for the results all the while being told my child is not allowed to eat but not being able to provide any explanation as to why. Very disappointed to say the least.

Vic Wells-Smith

SO patronizing, dismissive and rude. They all made me feel like they didn’t have time for me and thought I was stupid. I had to repeat myself over and over and over and am still finding out the wrong information is in my chart. My bed was visibly dirty with fluids and sticky stuff. When the doctor came in I pointed it out, she didn’t even look and said “it’s clean”. I left with the same prescription I’ve tried 2 times already that didn’t work. And when I tried to discuss this I was completely dismissed with a very mean and judgemental tone. These people just don’t like their jobs. I have no problem waiting for hrs in emergency (nature of the beast) and am very polite. They didn’t even investigate some major pain I’m having which I’ve now discovered is most likely a symptom. They were jerks to me. Plain and simple. They didn’t listen and they didn’t try.

My mom had scheduled surgery to be at 1p.m. I have made an arrangement at work to come earlier to work that day and leave at 10 a.m. as i couldn't get a day off and we need to arrive 2 hours prior of scheduled surgery at 11.am. The day before surgery my Mom receiveda phone call from Day surgery around 2 p.m., not even giving 24 hr notice , the time of the surgery was changed to 9 a.m. No one bother to ask if she or accompanying person can come sooner. I read the message from Mom that her surgery was changed to earlier time after finishing work, as we are not allowed to use cellphone at work time. I have called the day surgery office at 5 p.m after my work at direct line, but they were closed, they only are open until 3. I also called reception desk at the hospital and they connected me to Day surgery. I asked if they can move back, the time of my mom surgery, as originally scheduled. But said that they can't do anything, they already updated the list and it is too late at this time. Why don't you ask first before updating ??? How someone that is working can rearrange time at last minute notice ??? My mom didn't have time to even ask one question, why they changed the time or if there is any other time available, as the lady who called her just let her know that they have changed time of her surgery and disconnect. Terrible and unprofessional customer service!!!!!!!

My husband, Larry Thomas, had day surgery on Sep 7. There were complications. I was at the hospital for several hours in the evening. The staff, including Dr. Yassein, and nurses Cindy and Cathy were absolutely amazing with a special call out to Cathy. She provided care above and beyond, including walking me out to the parking garage at 10:30 at night. My husband and I were totally impressed with the caring dedication and professionalism exhibited by everyone I have mentioned, especially Cathy.

Darlene Maillet

I was really optimistic that the new hospital would mean a better patient experience. One that would include respect, empathy and professionalism. I mistaken in a recent visit to the Emergency, where I witnessed seniors being spoken to harshly, for no reason. There was no respect for privacy as the intake nurse asked in a voice that is almost yelling, “what is wrong with you that you came here”. Waited 1.5 hours (no exaggeration) and still did not see a triage nurse. Left the hospital, never saw a doctor and went elsewhere, where I was treated with respect. Should have videotaped the circus of an Emergency that it is, and contacted CBC or W5. They would have had a hay day with what I witnessed and experienced. Such a disgrace, and shame.....

Maurice Curran

Parking costs are ridiculous. They built a brand new big hospital with huge donations and citizens cant catch a break.

Paul Grech

Awful place stay away

Nurse Lesley in Obstetrics is fantastic!

Love the staff

Zita Raponi

Expedient, excellent, and exceptional care! I would rate the patient care we experienced at OTMH this past weekend as OUTSTANDING - at least 6 STARS out of 5. My daughter had to have an emergency appendectomy on Friday night at OTMH. She came to Emergency on Friday afternoon, was diagnosed expediently, and her surgery was successfully completed that night. She stayed overnight and went home the next day, in much less pain. A BIG thank you to all the ED nurses and physicians, her AMAZING surgeon (Dr. Nicole Callan), her nurses on the 7 Centre unit and all the other caregivers in her circle of care such as the Phlebotomist and those in DI. They were all so caring, compassionate, very knowledgeable and extremely efficient. It was nice to get such a sophisticated level of care right here in our community in such a beautiful, clean and state-of-the art facility. We cannot thank you all enough.

AJ Horton

Spent 12 days there with best care ever. All staff very pleasant, no racial problems, staff including nurses, doctors, cleaners, transport, every Dept. staff very conscientious hard working and caring. Best, safest hospital I've ever been in!

Naj Naj

Absolutely disgusting to make people pay for parking when they are SICK. This is not a night club. Why the hell make people pay 7$ an hour??? Had an appointment at 10 am but still had to take a number at the waiting area. How pathetic is that? What is the point of having an appointment????

Errol Byrde

My Son was brought in on Tuesday 19/11 to ER with symptoms of Cardiac Arrest. He was asked to stand in line at the Triage and taken in later. He was in the waiting room for 5 hours before they took him into a ER room. He was then seen by a ER Doctor and blood tests showed he had indeed had a Heart Attack. More tests were done and another ER Doctor visited him and informed him that he thought it was not a heart attack and did another blood test. He comes back after an hour and apologizes and says it was indeed a heart attack. He remained in the ER for another day and sent to Trillium on 21st Nov for a Angiogram which showed his main artery was 99pct blocked. Two stents were put in. Chances were that he could have had a more severe attack during the 5 hour wait in the ER waiting room with no urgency been shown for his condition?? This is unacceptable and could endanger patients to lose their lives easily. Just wanted to share this!!

aleksis jenson

On July 11 we went to the ER because my husband couldn't walk due to the excruciating back pain. We waited 6.5 hours, we were not seen and at 10PM we finally left. This is the nightmare experience not only for not being seen by any medical staff after such a long wait but for not having a basic human need for water met. There is absolutely nowhere any drinking water. All our basic human needs were violated in this supposedly state-of-the-art hospital. The system is broken and communication is draconian. We pay HIGH Taxes to be treated like cattle. Even the cattle in Canada has more rights than humans. This hospital MUST come to the 21st century yesterday.

Justin T

i was really impressed with this hospital. my mother was there for a while due to an operation and the service and care she got there was impeccable.

Dallas S

Hospitality was ok...

Jane Generalovic

We had Outstanding care for my 87 yrs young father after a fall and hip surgery. Nurses and staff are friendly and helpful. During this lock down when no visitation was aloud , hospital provided free t.v. and set up virtual visits daily. Thank You nurses from 4 North Unit 1 you are All Angels ????????❤️

Laura Barber

I was taken care of very well.

Nate Bolland

These guys falsely diagnosed me scizo, my dad took me there twice when they were oakville trafalger, the first time they cleared me but the second time my aunt dr napp female, who works there pulled strings and made me talk to 4 or 5 doctors the last one gave me anti-psychotics for.. it was supposed to be two weeks. Then they made me see a pyck who was apparently friends with my aunt and he dicided I was one but only after meeting with him for an hour with my parents in the room. I'm going to sue them when I have enough money. But no one takes me seriously because I'm diagnosed scizo. Don't go to this place. If your a good freaking lawyer just contact me and we can work out a percentage deal, they are the richest hospital in the GTA probably.

The most disappointing and painful experience in an ER room. My wife recently had a miscarriage and was told that she needed immediate medical attention if she continued bleeding and in pain. Well, we showed up to this "hospital", in the span of 5 hours all we managed to do was to get her blood sample, a robe and a bed, a doctor approached once to tell us that indeed the miscarriage happened and that they were going to administer something for the pain at 9:30pm, at 11:15pm we ended up walking out of the hospital because still no one gave her anything for pain or the inflammation, there was no radiologist for the ultrasound and pretty much the nurses were chatting and flirting with a doctor while my wife was visibly in pain. This people should be fired and replaced with doctors who actually CARES for the patient. This is a waste of tax payers money! I'm so saddened and in shock about this experience.

Munazza J

Horrible ER experience. What are they charging for? Wait time was so long, Mother was having difficulty breathing and had severe spinal cord pain , left her for half an hour in a wheelchair when she couldn't stay seated upwards! We were left outside the x-ray room alone while she was in excruciating pain. Had to wheel her back myself until a nurse came after seeing me cry. Staff in emergency wing are terrible, cold and don't care, they make you feel inconvenienced when you tell them there's an issue. Just gave my mom a pain killing serum and sent us home. Worst experience of my life, I still have trauma from that day

Raymond Asgar

This Hospital Is New And Very Organized. The Staff Are Friendly, Efficient And Accommodating. Well Planned Out And Built. Beautiful Facility With "State Of The Art" Equipment And Knowledge Staff. Offers Shopping And Many Food Options. Plenty Of Parking. Accessible Doorways, Restrooms and Parking .????♿

Michael James

Great direction and the image of the hospital adds to my peace of mind.

Karri Twiss

Well my brother is in the mental ward of the hospital to get him regulated on his meds for his mental health and I have recently found out that the nurses are not accommodating him with food menus and letting him starve not only that they are mistreating him wow whats the health care system coming to don't get me wrong I know there are alot of caring health care workers out there that have a heart but the one question that goes on in my mind is if that was your family member would you treat them like that im just so upset i hope those nurses that are treating some patients like that get fired or suspended for there actions

Sam sonsucontrols cellphone gmail bkp

I was a walk-in into the ER, was out in 45 minutes. While that sounds unprecedentedly short for the summer of 2019, I am testimony to how nice this hospital is. Thank you OTMH, thank you Canada

Kelly S.

This hospital is an absolute shame upon Oakville and is a lawsuit waiting to happen if some aren't pending already. I went to the hospital months ago with a red line tracing it's way up to my elbow from a cut on my palm that had mostly healed. Not only were the nurses at the front desk shockingly rude (not just to me, but to a poor older lady demanding her health card over and over before acknowledging her worry about something she was trying to tell them; this with only a handful of other people in the waiting room so there was no lineup), but when I was finally seen by a doctor, he took one look at it and said "It's nothing, maybe a scrape". I am no doctor but this was clearly not an abrasion. Then recently I just so happened to see someone else mention this online and that they had been diagnosed with Lymphangitis; an infection that had begun to spread through the lymphatic system. Looking at pictures of this condition, it was PRECISELY the kind of line I had. This condition is extremely dangerous and can lead to a full blood infection if the body fails to defeat it in the lymph nodes. Even if it really wasn't lymphangitis, the resemblence was enough that his dismissal in literally 30 seconds of looking at it and asking me like 2 generic questions, endangered my life. Fortunately I am a young lady and it seems that if it really was lymphangitis, my body fought it off and the line gradually faded over the next few days. I am not a hypochondriac and am incredibly respectful to doctors and was not hysterical but simply cautious when I went in, and I was treated like I was crazy for wanting to get it looked at. This hospital is truly terrible and it kind of scares me that it's the only option in Oakville. If you are someone who has ongoing health problems, or you anticipate a high likelyhood that you might need to be hospitalized, I highly recommend you think twice before choosing to live in Oakville, due to just how bad this place is. I shudder to think how many people might have suffered serious harm or death even because of the attitude of the staff there (my apologies to any employees that take pride in their work, but I have had poor experiences the two times I've had to go over the years).

Yara Shahzadeh

I am always in awe of the friendly and professional care I get at this hospital. Staff and especially the volunteers are helpful and exceptionally friendly.

Geetha Jeya

Monday night went in with abdominal pain...3am checked in saw doctor at 10 am .... doctor gave meds and said if conditions worse come back. 2 days later still same pain getting worse now ...checked in 3 pm didn’t get to see doctor till :11 pm. Doctors visit was less than 5 mins. Everything is normal. And meds take 2-3 weeks for it to work. Did no further testing. Seems like they just wanted to get everyone out. And I’m still here with pain that has not lowered down one bit It has been the same.

Pam Maguire

Hospital workers are not wearing masks in areas such as kitchenettes (where the food is) where they don’t think they can be caught. I was shocked and disgusted, as we are all immunocompromised on this ward .

Mike Quinn (Mike)

Very nice, clean and modern hospital. Staff are helpful through out the hospital. My experience with both general staff and doctors was excellent. My preferred hospital in the west end.

Danielle G

My uncle just called me. He is being treated at the hospital. He fell out of bed and has been laying on the floor ringing the nurses bell for a 45min. Luckily he had his cell phone on him and called me. I had to call the hospital to address him. Not impressed.

Micheal Lambert

Don’t judge a book by its cover... Let me start with the good. It’s a beautiful hospital aesthetically as would be expected after spending 2.7 billion on constructing it. On to the bad... The way this hospital is organized, managed and operated is quite honestly disgusting... Aside from a few exceptions the staff have absolutely no accountability. After scheduling a procedure months in advance they had no beds (private or semi-private) even though we specifically requested private. Some of the nurses were more focused on their Instagram and Facebook life than that in the ward. I am completely appalled with the level of care this hospital provides. This would NEVER happen in a private facility. It’s time to privatize healthcare in Canada.

X A

Don't get fooled by its fancy looks. This is the worst worst hospital in the whole entire Toronto and GTA. Credit valley is a excellent place to go for emergencies over this trash.

Mark Lepp

My brother was taken to the ER after crashing on a mountain bike. He had clear signs of concussion and neck injury and yet had to wait over 3 hours just to see a Dr. and get a CT ordered. They didn't even put a collar on him till after he slumping over in the wheel chair, 3 hours after his arrival. As it turned out he didn't have a spinal cord injury or brain bleed, But if he had, this delay could have been tragic. So what's the point of a big new hospital if the care is going to be this bad?

Rahim B

thought it was a awsome hospital, beautiful hospital, big nice till my wife needed care. She had some issues which was getting worst from past 3 wks. got some test done and the doc said to go to ER if conditions get worst. went to ER 4 am and the doc does not show up till 7 am then she does not even check, she said its not life threatening and to go to her doc, well she is on vacation for a month ( Docs get free money so why not). this is how in this province all the cancers are missed till its too late as docs treat patients as a $34 visit in which they want to hear one complain and just basic meds. thats it. i am scared when we need care for this province. some docs may be good but most are greedy take money for rent from pharmacist and money to refer patients to physio clinics. these guys make millions and still treat patients as a $34 patient. they dont ask how are you feeling any complains thanks for letting us treat you instead its please only one complain and please go home you are ok. this is from a health practitioner so i know my health care. if something does happen to my wife will sue the hospital and the OMA for letting this doc work. will be filling complain with OMA and next time will take issue to the media they love these things. my recommendations to people who visit ER record your experience, audio or video as you never know.

Lee Wittick

had to visit Emergency department Feb 19 at around 8:30. we thought my son broke his hand playing hockey. I interacted with 3 different hospital employees that night and my experience with ALL of them was negative. General feeling is none of the staff wanted to be there! no compassion for my son or the other patients waiting. The worst experience came in Zone AB, where I politely asked the lady behind the counter how long the wait was to talk to a doctor. The lady barley looked up at me an barked that it would be a minimum of 5 hours!! there was not one seat in the waiting area so we had to stand in the hall. I then politely asked if we could come back in a few hours, and she basically screamed IF I LEAVE THIS AREA I CLOSE THE FILE!!! Its a shame that so much public and private money was invested in a wonderful state of the art facility and we fill it with people like this!! management should be ashamed!

Cryptic Lancer

Unprofessional nursing and reception staff...very unfriendly ...they hate to answer your questions and at best give 1 word replies...dont understand anxiety of new parents...big mistake signing up here...specifically requested for a private room..pre planned date ...wonder how they can get it so wrong considering how aesthetically beautiful the hospital is

Joseph King

Amazing Hospital! Caring staff and doctors who put there patients first. When I got sick I had no doubt I was in good hands! Thanks again and god bless you all!

Greg G

Smooth vaccination process.

Erika Pataky

I agree with Juli Mb. The staff are very unfrendly in the emergency. They do not care at all about the patients. Wish to never go there again.

Habib Zoghbi

Worst emergency staff, rude, clueless and cold. They worry about their self-image more than their patients medical condition!!! I only saw one emergency doctor who was professional and attending about a dozen patients; clearly understaffed! Hospital management need to check themselves firsthand by attending as patients instead of relying on some fake reports.

Greg Lyons

Emergency room reception and care was first rate !

Stephen Turner

I recently had nasal surgery at this hospital. I can only say that I was treated with the utmost care, courtesy and respect during my procedure. Every member of the staff including the OR staff were very professional, and inspired confidence during every step of the procedure. My recovery was unusually long (5 hours) given the relative simplicity of my procedure but my recovery room nurse, Janis, never left my side. I wish to thank her in particular for her dedication !! I would highly recommend this hospital to anyone requiring surgery, be it simple or complicated. I will write later about the unequaled skills of my surgeon, Dr Kolenda.

Vanilla Black

Been waiting for over four hours for a massive head contusion and suspected concussion. By the time you read this, I will still be waiting.... don’t use this place. Just came back from another horrible OTMH experience. After going to three walkins(two being closed early and one just flat out told me sorry no appointment so I couldn’t be seen) I reluctantly went to OTMH. Kidney stone first timer. Took 8 hours to be given the wrong meds and sent home to having to return, go through the whole process again, being forgotten for five hours, rude staff- there for $$ not to help or heal. No bedside manner. No one here cares at all about humans or has any empathy. They treat you terrible because it’s your fault you’re sick.

Justin DeGasperis

My experience was excellent compared to other hospitals when judging the overall stay. staff were ALWAYS very, very NICE, and they smile. Other things like wait room times are moved differently almost seeeming quicker than the hours long wait room times. i have experienced halton hills hospital many times and they always had a plan when i left to reintigrate into society Thanks again Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. Best rating i can give a hospital ive ever been to. XOXO GET WELL SOON PEEEPS

James Robertson

Terrible service avoid this place at all costs. Had an appointment at the fracture clinic for 8 am had to leave at 10 for other responsibilities. Staff obviously don’t care about wait times or inconveniencing patients. Can’t wait for the patronizing response from the Web Master how sorry they are!

Rob Smith

Top flight facilities, excellent staff, superior in every way.

mike the best

the amount of work that I am going to put into this review is more than what the staff at this awful establishment will even contribute. i came in with something wrong with my reproductive system something wasnt right and i really needed to see a doctor which took 8HOURS at that point i thought i was going to lose my mind. For us tax payers paying away their wages, we should be treated with more respect and see asap not having nurses laughing and giggling around and question about who they follow on social media. truly disrespectful staff and don't care about the well being of a human.

G I Bluewin I

Watch out for the invisible signage when dropping off a wheelchair patient! I just got a $100 ticket for being in a "designated fire route". But everyone else seems to park there with impunity (photos attached). Do you see the invisible signage?

Melissa Hole

Best hospital by FAR! usually go to Brampton hospital but didn’t want to wait 12 hours to see a doctor. My dog accidentally scratched my eye and I couldn’t see. I was in and out within an hour and a half. They even helped relieve the discomfort within the first 10 minutes of me being there! I will only come here when I need help from now on. Thank you to all the medical staff for all your hard work during these difficult times!

Worst ER I have ever seen

Cindy Bran

Every time I visit this hospital it’s the worst experience. I think I’ve only had one nice nurse from the various times I’ve gone. It’s the closest to me that’s why I choose it but I have to stop. I even had a surgery here in emerg and it was traumatizing the treatment I received before surgery and after from the entire staff. They’re rude and careless.

Kerry Tai

Terrible ER experience. Brought my boyfriend here for stitches at night. Triage nurse was, short and rude - you might as well have a computerized checkin system with that kind of attitude. Waited over 5 hours for stitches, boyfriend was actively bleeding and was never checked on or offered gauze or tissue for bleeding. One doctor seeing the entire emergency zone, he was doing the best he could with no help from the nurses. Not sure what the emergency nurses are doing during the work shift as the male and female nurse were engaging in social conversation for the entire 5 hours we were there. New and beautiful hospital but terrible patient experience.

jerry tyrlicz

My wife was visiting this hospital on April 27th, 2021 between 11am-12 pm and was exposed to a covid positive patient who had an active cough. What's the point of covid screening questions if they are going to put everyone together anyway. The man and his wife were coughing and no one bothered putting them in a separate room. There were many elderly people there at the time who were possibly exposed. My wife overheard a nurse frantically telling another nurse "her blood is boiling that the man is covid positive". When she tried asking questions about being exposed and why was the couple waiting with everyone else while actively coughing, she was told to contact customer relations if she has any issues, the same answer given to every single negative review on google. At that point she just picked up her health card and left. Seems like nobody here cares about any covid protocols or keeping patients safe. Terrible!

Didier Nitelet

I spent 8 1/2 months there. Now have to go 3 times a week. Never ha d complain.

Eddie Barsoum

I understand that priority is given to severe cases at Emergency, but when my daughter is bitten by a dog in her face, her face is bleeding and no one is looking after her ! That's not human, when we gently requested to be taken care of, the answer was your daughter will wait at least two hours, and they added in sarcasm others are in pain too.. by the way the blood is covering my daughter's face in addition to the pain and we are still waiting for the mercy of Oakville Hospital

ajay mohan

This is the worst hospital

S Sankani

Definately better than any Missaiga Trillium Hospitals particularly credit view Trillium Hospital

Moreen Marchan

Excellent Patient Care, warm and genuine as I remember back in old Oakville.????????

Brooke Madison

Worst service ever parking is expensive aswell no ones in the waiting room and I've been waiting for hours

Asad Yousfani

My wife came here today for a serious cough, doctor Dodge Greg was the best she said

Big Scottish Mac

Well organised, very competent and caring staff

Najmeh Chitsaz

Unbelievably slow and unprofessional staff. Waste of time.

Michelle Qureshi

Dont come here I’m shocked at the good reviews. They treat their patients like animals and they dont care about your well being at all. They are only there to get their cheques and go home. This hospital deserves to be shut down for their behaviour towards special needs people. They treat them like animals and throw them into rooms and leave them there to suffer. They dont even watch the patient. They leave them to urinate on floors. I am absolutely disgusted at how they handle their patients. I would give it a -5 star if it were possible.

Annie Segat

CatAract eye surgery nurse Michelle in prep room is very efficient, knowledgable and very pleasant to each and everyone of us. Keep up your smiling face. Great worker.

Cathy Ajemian-Harrington

Hi on Saturday, I attended at the Hospital for my COVID shot, it was my first time being at the new Hospital, the staff at the vaccine clinic were absolutely amazing, very polite and attentive. I loved the fact that there was no line-ups, and no wait. I was further impressed that there was a pharmacist available for anyone whom had inquiries about their meds and the vaccine. Further impressed that I told the pharmacist that I had Cancer and was given an appt for my second dose in four weeks. Fell so much better and not so scared anymore. Well done to the staff.

Rosita Ramsingh

If you want professionals to give up on your family members take them to this hospital. Due to Covid my family could not visit my father in the hospital who had Covid. My dad went into the hospital because his breathing was off, he could have done everything for him self. Due to lack of care at this hospital my dad had a massive stroke. They gave my mom the opportunity to visit him so she can make the decision to take him off life support. The stroke doctor looked her in the eye and said there is a zero percent chance of your husband coming out of this, everyday we call for an update they say he is the same. They just gave him medication to keep him a life due to their obligations as doctors with no other support. Luckily the discharge nurse had some compassion to move him back to his home hospital where he is now able to speak and move his feet and arms. I am disappointed in the health care system and these so called doctors and nurses who believe they are god, some of you are in the wrong field.

Zhang Jane

I just had my COVID vaccine there and the vaccine centre is at huge east entrance which close to the parking lot 2. My appointment was at 8 and they started at 7:55. It was late for some reason today. The line up was long and about 20 people waiting there. It took me 17 minutes to wait and get the vaccine done. it took me another 15 minutes to wait to see if I have any reaction after the vaccine. My friend told me it took her 5 minutes to get everything done. Well. She probably missed the part of 15 minutes waiting. Actually comparing to my past experience in any hospital or clinic, this time was super fast and very organized and clear during the whole process. I was not complaining at all if I didn’t need to go to work after or my friend didn’t tell me that it would take 5 minutes. My arm was very sore today. They will also give you the ticket to pay for the parking. Thank you for responding and I updated more details and it was all good.

Anthony Bunbury

Had surgery there recently by the brilliant Dr. Miles Kealey. I cannot speak highly enough of the professionalism, caring and friendliness of the OTMH staff. Keep it up folks!

Alex Thomson

A month ago my 4 year old granddaughter was visiting and after coping two nights with crying and pain in her mouth, my son took her to OTMH. While the wait in emerg was very long, she was diagnosed with hand-foot-and mouth disease and immediately admitted since she was severely dehydrated and had low blood sugar - she couldn't eat or drink with the pain. The nurses in paediatrics were wonderful - caring and positive . My DIL stayed there all night and I spelled her off in the evening so I saw first hand how well my granddaughter was cared for. The room was lovely and bright - all in all, it was a positive experience, in spite of the situation.

Natalia

I visited Emergency department with my daughter as she had a strong abdominal pain. The waiting room in Emergency was overcrowded so the relatives were sent out by a nurse of the waiting room to stand in the corridor. Taking into account that a lot of patients were in pain and scared to be alone sending the relatives off did not help at all. Even when there were less patients left in the waiting room we were again sent away to the corridor by a nurse with no reason. There were 2 or more patients in visible distress, but there was only 1 nurse that paid attention to their condition and she was not always there. In total we spent OVER 5 hours in Emergency department. During that time my daughter had blood test, X-Ray of the abdomen, and less then 5 minutes observation by the doctor. The rest was sitting and waiting. I believe it's disgrace for the hospital that the Emergency department has lack of dedicated staff, lack of space and generally poor patients care. The rest of the hospital looks much better. Urgent changes in Emergency are necessary!

Tara

I ONLY would go to Oakville Hospital for treatment, following an extremely traumatic experience at Joseph Brant. Personal shout out to Shea (wish I knew her last name), whom is a nurse within the emergency department for her caring and kind support during my stay. Her, along with all of her colleagues were amazing and deserve all of the recognition for what they do and how well they do it. Thanks all, This is the only way I could put it in writing! Tara

Alyssa Weir

This hospital continues to exceed our expectations. Lovely staff and experience in the Special Care Nursery.

Reem salman

The worst hospital I seen in my life ,they give the pt. dirty clothes and after four days of having fever they don't know the cause and had said that they will call me after 2 days to tell me the results of their investegation and then they do nothing.....they don't care about their pt.s and do nothing for them...that what I had seen their..

Braam Meij

Waited 4h to see a doctor in Emergency. I guess emergency has a different meeting at this hospital. Zero stars would have been more accurate.

Norma Alvarez

Unnecesary long waiting times, questions not answered by the nurses, (the typical I'm not sure). My son and I we had to wait almost 5 hours before someone check the cast on his hand, previous doctor installed very tight. Nurses showing attitude.

Khoda Jan

There is no a good medical services in canada, this is one of the worst. If I had a time I prefer to spend much money and fly back to my country and go to hospital there instead of using free useless medical service in Canada. There is no respect for patient time at all, and there is no enough good doctors. hospitals and medical center only and only try to do many unrelated test and exam to charge your ohib (of course you don't complain because you dont pay directly for it, but with your Tax for the illiterate doctors and you only waste your time there.) I don't know when someone wants to care about the people health, all is showing off "free medical service", just a joke.

Nishat Ismail

I gave birth here on January 2nd 2018 and everything went great untill I was in my post-delivery room. Around 1:30 at night the night nurse came and told me and my husband that we need to leave. Mind you we had paid $250 for one night for the private room. We told them that we do not have a ride and we had just given birth and it was freezing cold out! The manager then came and told us we had to leave because somebody else needed the room! THE HOSPITAL WAS PRACTICALLY EMPTY!! Absolutely horrible... they did not even care. Giving the hospital a horrible name because we had a positive birthing experience but this incident ruined the overall for us.

Rabaa Kh

I wish I can give zero star, absolutely very rude Doctor in the emergency department zone C on Wednesday at 10:30 pm. At the moment We asked her a question she started showing attitude!!!!!!!! Is not enough to be educated if you don’t have humanity and kind behaviour with the patients!! Unfortunately there’s no place to teach the ethics otherwise I would advise you where to go .......

Samantha Harvey

So frustrated with there diagnostic imaging department. I have been here 2 different times for a MRI. Each time I have come here they are way behind schedule - If this is the case call your patients and tell them instead of making them sit there for hours!!!

Karen McCarthy

Went to hospital with my son for a broken bone upon the recommendation of our doctor Receptionist was unfriendly, nurses were unfriendly. Both looked miserable as if they resented you for interrupting them. We sat for a total of 3 hours. During this whole time NO one came to speak to us to even give us an update My son joking but not jokingly said “By the time i get my thumb looked at my bone will be healed” The medical attention once received was adequate (in my opinion) at best there are so many low ratings...it is unfortunate and shocking that the hospital doesn’t respond. There are too many for it to be a one off unhappy patient.

Nancy Aleksic

I had a great experience at this hospital. I went in for a synvisc one injection in my hip today. Everyone from the screening person to the checkin ladies in Diagnostic imaging to the tech and nurse and Dr in IR were really friendly and professional. This was my first time at this hospital and I was very impressed. It's new, it's clean and from what I saw everyone seems to enjoy working there. Even a Dr walking by me asked me what I was looking for and had no problem showing me where the washrooms were. Most wouldn't have even asked. Keep up the great work and atmosphere!

Saad Khan

Can't say enough about our community hospital. Saved my life when I was admitted with CoVID symptoms. Professional, attentive, friendly and highly experienced staff. Hats off to the the management and the fontline workers that are navigating us through this pandemic.

yo momma

If I could give it 0 stars I would.

Aiden Masse

Its huge and we needed it we can fit more people

Nawaz Alam

Good and clean hospital but very crowded, walk in to emerge will take you several hours, one waiting to another and other and so on. Food court inside, Tims open 24/7.

Sara Ahmed

Worst experience, here with my father who is 85 a heart, diabetic and acute lung problem, the reason I brought him here is coz he can’t breathe properly, got here at 2:30pm and still waiting for the doc and the time is 9:46pm, they aren’t letting him eat anything it’s been more than 8 hours he hasn’t eaten BUT these spineless and heartless people just don’t care, never ever coming here again.

Mo Akoush

ER Doctor was fantastic, he called me to let me know some of the results I didn't get while there and advised of next steps. Wait times were high, however, this is expected when you go during the day on a weekend. Best hospital

Properly the worst ER in GTA. Arrived at the ER with head injury on Thursday night. We were sent to wrong waiting area for 1 hour before staff asked us to move to another area. Waited for another 3 hours but still had no doctor to come and see us. I would understand if it was a busy night but sad part is there were only 3 patients waiting to see the doctor. After waiting for over 4 hours and we finally decided to leave without getting checked.

July 18th, 2021, I am in Emergency, in the zone C , the doctors free zone. One night shift doctor is treating the patients that are sicker than us. From 1am till now , 7am, just nurses are here. Nurses are checking vitals, drawing blood, doing ECGs , but they are not doctors, and that's why we are all still here. Anyone who asks nurses where doctors are, gets the answer that sicker people are in the back somewhere, and doctor is treating them. It's absolutely quiet in zone C , people are trying to get some sleep, adults, and parents with little kids, but this chairs are not build for sleeping , no luck, sleepless night. This is the quietest and slowest emergency zone you can imagine. Another shift. New nurses. Doctor is not coming. Because zone C is not a priority zone. 7:05 - can't believe my eyes, doctor came! 7:45 am I am still waiting . 8:03 am - leaving the hospital. 7 hours waiting time! To Halton Healthcare Board of Directors Officers Richard Nunn, Chair Sharon Barkley, Vice Chair David Bronicheski, Treasurer Denise Hardenne, Secretary Directors Pankaj Arora Dr. Blair Baker Charlotte Burke Mayor Rob Burton Dr. Meghan Daly Councillor Zeeshan Hamid Samantha Horn Councillor Jon Hurst Dr. Hanif Jamal Joan Jickling Dr. David McConachie Ken McDermot Stacey Nagle John W. Nyholt Laurent Thibault Riccardo Trecroce I wish you all have medical emergencies at night, and be treated with the same speed and level of care as emergency department patients in Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital..

I was there last Friday in the ER and i have to say the ER and cardiac staff at OTMH saved me more than i can ever appreciate. They administered tests and life saving drugs quickly and efficiently while keeping me calm and explaining in details what they were doing and answering all questions needed. The doctors, nurses and specialists provide above and beyond great care in probably one of the hardest jobs around. i can appreciate some of the negative comments below, however, i believe strongly that if the hospital detects it is a life altering situation, they will react very quickly ad appropriately. Thank you all at OTMH.

I have severe abdominal pain, passing blood in both urine and stool, but I am hesitant to drive in as I worry I will get killed with parking charges. I took early retirement with minimal pension so that I can work in a community service project which I am passionate about. Trouble is I worry about having to pay excessive fees as my income is not that great. I also don't like the fact that my wife and boys may have to pay hefty parking fees if they want to visit me.

Incredible! Thank you Oakville Trafalgar!

My 80 year old father was sent by ambulance to this hospital at 3:00am. I called repeatedly from a different city to find out his status. No one answers the phone. Repeated attempts to find out what’s happening ended with no answer and a disconnect. The complaints department doesn’t answer the phone either. This is shameful on their part. Not being able to find out the status of a loved one because they are “busy” or “understaffed” is unacceptable.

Excellent hospiltal and medical staff operating under the constraints of COVID protocol. I had day surgery around 1:30 p.m. yesterday but was asked to be at admissions by 9:45 a.m. The admission was almost too fast as I was in to change in to a hospital gown before 10:30 am., I then was waiting on an albiet comfortable chair with a warm blanket cover staring at a wall clock for almost 2 and 1/2 hours before anyone came by. A suggestion would be for patients to remain in the admissions waiting room where you could read a pocket book, cell phone or watch CP24 news and stock reports and then proceed to the surgery pre area say an hour before It is rather boring and stressful waiting for an extended time, and my systolic blood pressure went up for the first known time to over 170 to over from anxiety. Otherwise I was very pleased with everything done for me.

I had excellent preop and surgery at this hospital. Everyone was kind and took the extra mile to show us exactly where we were going. We felt calm and assured. Surgery was great, professional, explained and handled with kid gloves. My back is full of degenerative disks and I asked no to lay flat for my foot surgery and they fully accommodated me. This was the first surgery that when I recovered I had no back issues. Thanks you for everything - Dr D. Arora and staff

Emergency departement: Everybody was very sweet and helpful, although you could feel, that they were on their limit. Also afterwards when I had get my medical records for my insurance. Only the phone system was "pretty interesting", I was disconnected several times. Unfortunatley the modernity of this hospital ends in the ER. Waiting areas are too small. If you need something to eat/drink (and you will need it because of the long waiting time) you have to walk a very long way ( if you´re able to walk...). Lucky me I had a very nice family of a patient caring for me. Thank you again so much if you read this, I was not able to find you afterwards!!! A simple automat with small snacks (soup, cereal bars) and something to drink (tea, water) would be very helpful. A little bit more transparency about waiting time would reduce the stress of everyone. I saw a lot of patients asking the nurse again and again about what to expect. It is freezing cold inside and only sheets to keep you warm available. Printing a sign which says that only one sheet per patient is allowed should show you, that people wish to have more to stay warm. More nurses helping the doctors would speed up the treatment process and reduce the waiting times. I do not know what if a patient needs assistance in something while waiting. It is spooky to see that even Canada has to pare down personal. But maybe all the money was spend in the shiny entrance hall...

I would give 0 stars if that option is available. Extremely rude staff in the emergency dept - dealt on 3 different occasions over last 2 years. Went in with a broken foot in extreme pain. They took xray tell us they suspect fracture but they dont have any orthopaedic person to even put a cast or check the foot. Sold us a $100 big shoe and sent us back home. Told the on call doctor Dr. Bischoff's office will call next morning. Also gave us Dr Bischoff's office number to call if we dont hear from his office. Sadly enough we haven't heard from Dr Bischoff's office in 48 hrs and his office does not answer our voicemails. After 48 hrs the family doctor has not received the xray report from hospital to move things forward. Apparantly the hospital is always behind in keeping family doctors updated with patient's status. Previous time also had to deal with extremely rude emerg staff and after not proving any care, the dr on call asked me what was I expecting when I went to emerg. I was shocked to hear the question. What do people really expect when they end up in emerg with broken bones and in extreme pain? These folks are in wrong profession. Building is surely very new and sparkly clean. The souls working here can use some empathy and code of conduct training. The new and shiny building does not heal people, good doctors and nurses do! My suggestion to the community, drive to jo Brant in burlington. Much better staff and doctors crew available there.

Arrived Sunday at 2pm with broken thumb, family doctor had given me a request for x-ray. Only one person ahead of me so quickly done the to emergency, where I was told that I would need to be x-rayed again . After explaining to three different staff members that I didn't require another x-ray I waited almost four hours for a splint and tensor bandage that wasn't done as well as the one I did myself Made an appointment with plastic surgeon for Monday at 9 45, when I checked in I was told there were 15 ahead of me three hours later they are saying there are still 13 ahead of me My question is why make appointments if they are not going to be followed, and why can't the staff be honest about what is happening ,

Beautiful, newer Hospital .. similar to Humber River in Toronto where I delivered my first child. Doctors, nurses, and staff were all very welcoming and nice. I was induced on a very busy day but everyone stayed professional and calm. No complaints.

The ER doctor lacked attention to detail and proper treatment. Not only did she prescribe the wrong treatment but also skipped over the minor procedure that should have been performed. This has led to a set back in recovery and an unnecessary amount of antibiotics. The diagnosis was rushed and my questions received short answers causing me to believe she felt inconvenienced.

Amy Taylor

Labour and delivery staff are really great. Kind, compassionate and super helpful.

Debra Norris

I spent the morning at the Cardiology unit last week and every single member of the Team was amazing, so kind and helpful and efficient. Thank you!

Shirzad Mohajerani

This is the sign in their Emergency Room. No doctor even after 6 hours to visit my 2 years old daughter. Worst experience dealing with their staff.Do not go to their ER if you have any other choice.

James Vann

Unless your dying go to a different hospital. No sense of urgency from nurses in ER. More focused on talking amongst themselves then treating patients. Spent 5 hours in waiting room without having a single nurse even speak to me let alone being treated. A truly shameful display of healthcare

Sam Dave

Very good hospital. But it has paid parking like all other hospitals.

stephanie ciufo

if i could give it zero stars i would. i came to bring my mom in as she may had been suffering from appendicitis which is extremely life threatening. we had been waiting for around 7 hours. yet, they took someone with a cold before we us who not to mention came in AFTER we did. this was a serious condition which normally should be rushed but it was almost like they didn't even know we were here. Not to mention that there was a man in so much pain that was on the floor in pain for 20 minutes it was only when someone spoke up about the man that they even entertained him. also the staff was incredibly rude and seemed to just be standing around and laughing when there is a waiting room filled with ill and hurt individuals.

Tao

For the hospital, it is pretty good, modern and new. The doctor and staffs are very nice and helpful. For the emergency in this hospital, it is terrible, terrible, terrible. Rude and careless staffs, waiting for hours without see any doctor.

Lesley McVean

Absolutely the best hospital in Ontario! The doctors and nurses are amazing! Angels on Earth! Reception areas where you wait for appointments or tests are so cozy! The volunteers are endless and although I have to admit I miss the coloured lines as in the old Hospital There's always signs and volunteers! Unfortunately, I'm a regular with one doctor or another but I always get in on time as I do with tests! I've had to use Emergency for friends and I have been taken in by Ambulance but never had crazy waits! So fast with tests your bloodwork etc! It's so nice to have so very many volunteers and the piano players! I was visiting every day for over six weeks and it was great to have an awesome choice in the food court for when the patient is sleeping!

Yusuf Salehi

Very unprofessional nurses, rude and mean. Instead of helping people they sit around joking and laughing
