You must have seen that the average of ratings that it reaches is almost the best one, and it is founded on a large number of feddbacks, so we can conclude that the valuation is quite credible. If there are many people who bothered to leave their opinion when they've done well, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to set reviews when they are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Hospital is classified in the category of Veterinarian.
Horrible experience with needing an emergency C-section for my beloved pet . avoid this place at all costs!
I want to thank Diane and Dr. Websdale for their awesome service last night. I took my pup Carl in as he was having cluster seizures. I was told over the phone there is a 2-4 hour wait - completely understandable - just like human emerg! We can't go in with the pups but I sat in my car - Diane was very friendly and professional and she took Carl in right away - where he was watched over and given treats!- Dr. Websdale was practical and personable - didn't push anything and gave me reasonable options for his care. I ???? would recommend this place to anyone who needs an emergency service - I can not thank you enough
The vet and all the staff are so kind and caring and treated my dog so well. They have me all my options and gave me great advice. I highly recommend them
Saying good buy to a member of your family is one of the most difficult things in this world. The staff here were so helpful patient and caring. They made this horrible day a little easier. I would trust these people with any animal because they truly care about them. Thanks
Best place
Rated the top veterinary clinic in Burlington and west Oakville.
Can’t say enough good things about this emergency veterinary centre. Jeff and Dr. Amundson were amazing when we brought our Frankie in for emergency care. Fair prices, lots of communication and genuine concern. Didn’t try to add extra costs and most importantly our dog recovered quickly under their care.
Lovely staff. Everyone was extremely understanding. I have had to visit a few emergency hospitals in the last few years and this one was by far the best treatment myself and my pet has received.
The team here was so incredible, they took such good care of my little guy, and had the most clever towel trick so that he didn’t have to wear a muzzle and be more scared. We will definitely be coming back here again, we were so impressed. My dog had been attacked and they were able to clean out all of his wounds and were so good with him that he didn’t even need to be sedated.
I don't know how they do it so very late at night. Great staff!
Great place took great care of my lil guy and unfortunately when we had to put him down they were very respectful.
I have two dogs and both of them were saved by the doctor here. One was seriously injured five years ago, and another one had toxic liquid last week, however they recovered quickly under great and thoughtful treatment. And moreover I could feel the warmth of their heart from not only a doctor but all the staffs, and felt so comfortable while I was there with my dogs. I am completely satisfied with this clinic. Thank you so much for helping them.
We had to go this Veterinarian Clinic as an emergency to gave our dog, Gilligan, (who was hurt the day before) be put to sleep. The staff was compassionate, caring, understanding and allowed us all the time we needed to say goodbye. They made the experience a little less difficult. I even got a hug from the receptionist. This was on a Saturday and received a sympathy card by the Tuesday. Would recommend to anyone and would return there if not able to go to our regular vets. Thank you.❤????
Saved our little pooch and will forever be great full to everybody that works there. Unbelievable staff
Lovely vet, incredible support staff. The staff is caring and compassionate. Expect to wait, cause they take their time with each patient. Prices are not horrible for emergency care, advice.
It is always a heart wrenching experience to have to rush your beloved pet to the hospital, especially when you know it is a one way trip. Our family unfortunately suffered a big loss with our beautiful cat Domino last week. She fell ill so quickly overnight that we had to rush her to the emergency hospital. Due to covid, we could not enter, so I had to hand over my cat and wait in the car for the vet to call. From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredible. So friendly, so loving towards my sweet girl, and so sensitive to us knowing this may be the last time we see her. The vet called and we were given the news we knew was coming - our beloved cat would not survive. The vet gave me a quick background on his history as a vet and told me the truth - he said "even if I walked in with a briefcase of gold bars, you still wouldn't be able to save her". I broke down, but we knew already that she had progressed so suddenly, we may never see her again. I whole heartedly respected his honesty and glad he gave me the truth, and not taken advantage of, by trying something that could cost me thousands of dollars and not get my cat any better. They administered some pain meds, and brought our sweet baby girl out in a blanket for us to sit on the bench and say our goodbyes. It was gut wrenching, but the staff was so kind to us, not rushing us, allowing us privacy and time with our baby. We picked out her urn and said our goodbyes. Everyone was so loving and caring, soft spoken and compassionate. Obviously no one wants to have to rush their loved one to the emergency vet, but if you do, this is definitely the place to take them for the best care and concern. I dread ever having to take a pet to the emergency, but I most definitely would return here because I know the TLC my animal would receive and get the best advice <3
Had to travel extra distance to bring my dog to be seen. Best decision ever. I called and they explained the approach (due to COVID) to assessing the emergency. They were caring and understanding and provided options for treatment. I felt comfortable and relieved. It's now several days on and pet is well recovered. Thank you so much for helping us that night.
Worst experience EVER! I've been dealing with vets and animal hospitals for years, not only as a pet owner, but as part of a cat rescue for over 9 years, and I have never seen such obnoxious staff anywhere. Rude, condescending, saying whatever they think they can get away with without making any logical medical sense whatsoever. Tried to tell me I'd been waiting only an hour when it was approaching 3 hours. Left a catheter out of my blocked cat for 3 hours (they claimed it fell out during transit, though when I looked in the carrier at the hospital it sure looked in place to me, plus there were no tears in the skin from the ties put in place to keep the catheter in - meaning it didn't tear itself out). More likely they used the catheter as a means to try to keep me there even longer, since I didn't hear about the catheter being out until I wanted to take my cat and leave without seeing the vet. They likely snipped the ties (therefore no tears) and removed the catheter because they told me it had fallen out. Neither option is acceptable. And they stole the IV fluid bag that my cat had come in with. Refused to return it, even though it had been prescribed and inserted at a different hospital by a different vet (my cat was a transfer only during the new year holiday when my vet hospital was closed, so didn't even need diagnostics). Never did speak to the vet, but she saw only one animal per hour while I was there waiting. And although they did take my cat into the back shortly after my arrival, and although my cat was simply a transfer from another hospital - no diagnostics, no additional testing, no problem solving, hospital records all attached, and the vets had already spoken to each other and were appraised of the issue - I was still made to wait for 3 hours simply to pay a deposit, sign some DNR form and make face to face contact with the vet, which never did happen because it was going to take at least another 1 1/2 hours. Bottom line - go to Askey. I wouldn't go back to this place if I were paid to.
I am so glad to have asked a friend what emergency vet she uses. Our experience with this clinic on the weekend was amazing. The kindness and compassion my mom and her dog received was similar to what we have with our regular vet. Her senior Bull Terrier went downhill quickly and we ended up at this clinic. After a consultation with the vet (Dr. Bowley), we discussed the likelihood of what was going on and she made the recommendation to have an ultrasound done. Unfortunately, the ultrasound tech was away so the vet recommended we go to another clinic that had that resource available. Sadly, the results confirmed what we thought and Zane was laid to rest the following morning. I hope to never need emergency care in the future, but if we do, this clinic will be my first choice.
24 vet services
Great with are Whippet Aurora
We brought in our 3 year old cat, Kovu, who was lethargic, unresponsive, wouldn't open his eyes.. we weren't quite sure what happened. But everyone there was amazing, helpful, attentive, & supportive in every way. The vet at the time was very understanding, caring, and answered all our questions. She made us feel better that he'd be well cared for. Kovu was there for 2 nights on IV and they ran many tests to figure out what happened, keeping us up-to-date every single moment something had changed - which our family greatly appreciated! I went to visit him the day after he was in, and the lady/assistant at the front desk just loved him, and ensured me he was in great care, which I very much appreciated and left knowing he was in a good place looking after him. And now, I'm happy to report that he is back to his playful, lovable, and active self! I appreciate all they did for my little man. They saved his life.
Such great, friendly, welcoming staff, I fully trust them with my dog and if any emergency happens again they are my top vet to go to ! Highly recommend !
Beyond grateful for the vet and staff that helped my little man no where would take him in my city but they rushed him in and took such good care of him
Staff is very thoughtful, caring, and sympathetic.
According to the receptionist there was an approximately eight hour waiting time. Considering it’s an emergency vet, that’s a very long time. Very nice staff on call though who suggested other locations to visit.
Kind and friendly service.
The staff here is resiliant and more reliable than any other place when you need help for your pet. They have empathy and will not turn away your crisis. When I picked up my dog he left the building with a pep in his step and I knew he was well cared for. I am very greatful for this clinic. ????
A few months ago I brought my dog Scout here in an emergency when she accidentally consumed a toxic amount of our other dogs medication. The staff were SO amazing with her and communicated with me really well. I had to leave her there for 24 hours. Scout has separation anxiety and doesn’t love strangers, but they treated her so well that she was best friends with them by the time I picked her up! The women here are intelligent, caring, and kind. I would absolutely recommend this place!
Caring Dr Bowley! Nice staff! Respectable pricing. Couldn't ask for more.
First i would like to say that i am extremely saddened by the way i was treated at a very sensitive time with covid and my family losing our home. I had come to stay with my sister with my daughter and her kitty LiZZIE who is 1yr and 8months old. My daughter got her for hwr 8th birthday and she loves her so much. Unfortunately our Lizzie had a very bad accident and had to be rushed to the hospital since she had falling 7stories from a baloncy. So upon arriving the young girl at the door took lizzie right away and was so sqeet and caring. 3hrs later at 2am the vet called me and informed me that lizzie would need lots of care but that they needed $2500 now. Im sorry but im a single mother and i am staying with my sister for now cause i lost everything aftwr lising my job 6months ago. I was told i had no choice but to pay the money or surrender my Cat ro spca. I wasnt wanting to give lizzie up since my daughter didnt know yet about the accident cause i was trying to save her the heartache. I was rold i xould not even call to check on her status after i filled out the paperwork. So since i didnt have $4000 for vet bills i had to make the hard decision to surrender hwr so she xould get the care she needed, or she would have been euthanized by the vet. I have teied 10 rimes ro leave messages to get an update on lizzie, i just want ro know if she is ok but nope the manager stephanie from spca oakville milton sayins lizzie is no longer mine. So now how do i tell my daughter and what should i say???
Piper got attacked by another dog three days before Christmas and on a Sunday night after 9pm. Imagine my surprise when this clinic is open. Vet techs Tara and Vanessa, and Vet Dr Stewart took amazing care of her and we were in and out within 30-40 minutes. If your pet needs care, outside the normal working hours of your regular vet, don’t hesitate. Thanks for the compassion and great care!
Saturday April 18th, shortly after 6:00 pm we called the Emergency clinic. Our dog who had Leukemia, took a quick, sharp turn for the worse. We were told if we brought our girl in before 7:30, there were two vets on duty and one would be able to help our Sadie pass. They said they would do it outside while our girl was in the back of our car, since we could not go in due to COVID-19 protocol. We got Sadie into the car and drove right there arriving at approximately 6:50. We called to let them know we had arrived, they took our information but in my stress, I gave my home phone number instead of my cell number. No one came out to look at Sadie, we waited and waited in the 4 degrees temperature for someone to come out. At about 7:20 a technician brought another dog out to a waiting owner, looked at us and said "the vet knows you're here". Sadie is now in labored breathing, and her eyes are dilating. Still no vert comes out to check her. At about 7:45 I called telling them my girl is in a lot of pain, and was told the vet would be informed. Still no one came to help Sadie. The vet finally came to the window, she had been calling our home phone (three phone calls, no msg just hang ups) and said she thought the reception had taken down the wrong number, even though she knew we were in the parking lot, waiting she didn't come out to see us and tell us what she may have been trying to tell us on the phone. I am totally in shock by that! Finally two technicians came to take Sadie in to prepare her for euthanasia. They brought her back out to the car, on a little stretcher, wrapped in a blanket. Again we waited for perhaps 20 minutes or more before the vet Dr. Swartz finally came out. She asked us if we knew the procedure, gave Sadie a sedative, then gave Sadie the injection. Our sweet girl passed within a couple of minutes although the vet didn't use her stethoscope to confirm that Sadie's heart had stopped. Finally after waiting a ridiculously long time, our Sadie was at peace. The lack of compassion given to us was very upsetting. Yes it was a stressful time with about six of us with sick pets waiting, yes the staff and vets were trying their best with COVID-19 protocols, yes the clinic was very busy, but I will never believe there was an excuse big enough in any of the above that would allow a dog, that they knew was coming in, to be in such pain for such a long time without anyone to come and take a look at her or to speak with us. After 15 or 20 minutes two technicians came out to take our Sadie back into the clinic, to be picked up for cremation. Not once did I hear a comforting word. It was busy, they were busy, and our Sadie was just another dog that got put down. Finally at 8:54 we were asked for our credit card information to pay the bill. An hour and a half to help our dying family pet is unacceptable, lack of compassion for our loss is totally disappointing. I will never agree that your care and concern are paramount....because it was not in our case. Patricia Miskimins
Amazing people. I was referred there by my friend Tony
Great service. Very compassionate.
Friendly caring staff.
Great after hours Veterinary Care; caring staff
I tried Askey's first as my regular vet recommends them but they were busy and recommended I go here. My dog ended up staying here for 2 nights. The staff was amazing. I spoke to quite a few different people over his time there and all of them were very nice and seemed knowledgeable. At one point I thought they were trying to push more than my dog needed, however the bill for a 2 day stay ended up being even less than the 12-24 hour stay quote they originally gave me. Of course it all depended how much medication my dog actually needed, but I don't feel this is the type of vet that overcharges you for no reason. I genuinely feel like they took great care of my dog and he could've died if not for them.
Great experience. They don't try to gouge you like other places I've tried. When my vet isn't available I will always chose them!! Lovely experience.
Excellent emergency service. The people who work here go above and beyond.
Our dog was in need of emergency Xrays, Ultrasound and actual stomach surgery. As this sudden news came to us totally unexpectedly, the staff were extremely patient polite and kind, explained us all the pros and cons, and the surgery was performed by the main doctor. Several days after the surgery our dog was kept there with 24/7 watch care, under IV and watchful eyes of their staff. Our dog was solely saved thanks to their fast response and expertise. Mia is a happy healthy dog now, and we get to thank the staff of Burlington Veterinary Hospital for that - thank you all for such incredible, professional work. God Bless you all!
I would just like to thank the staff and the Dr. for the professional and compassion they showed to my wife..myself and more importantly our 4 legged family member. On the morning of November 1 2020 at about 2:30am We had to make a horrific decision early this morning and Burlington Veterinary Emergency came to our aid. Its hard to write this.. But we would just like to thank you in our time of need.
Thank you for helping Ted last night! Your kindness was appreciated, Dr.Websdale. I can't thank you and the staff enough; I was scared my boy wasn't coming home last night. He is a little better today, already! I highly recommend your clinic, so Hamilton friends, this is close, and the service is worth the drive!
We called here asking about putting our dog down as we knew it was time, he had a seizure and was in so much pain, he had his health issues. As we pulled into the parking lot late at night I got out of the car holding my dog, he died there in my arms right after my mom told him she loved him, they were on their way out to get him when this happened. The way they handled things was very comforting. It's a tough situation what do u really say to a family that just lost their beloved fur baby, the lady was so sweet and understanding of our wishes. We really appreciated her help and thank you for everything.
Beans thanks you! He is doing great :)
Awesome service especially when someone ate a toy.
I’ve been coming to this veterinarian hospital for at least two years and have nothing but outstanding service so I’m sad to give this review. Tonight I had an unresponsive kitty that needed immediate medical attention. I arrived ahead of time to warn the staff and the women vet tech informed the man vet working (who is not on the staff list on the website). This man was in another vet room talking to other animal parents when my kitten arrived, and he continued to stay in the other vet room chatting with with other people regardless of the fact that he could hear this pregnant vet tech yell out for all hands on deck. I understand there’s other people with animals that need help but this pregnant if this VERY heavily pregnant vet technician can fill on run with my kitty to the back room, this man can stop his general happy chat for 20 minutes to save the life of my kitten. Still the man was in the other room chatting, SO THIS vet technician HAD TO LEAVE my kitty who needed the attention to go directly into the room and ask for his help before he would come assist. Following this, he came to assist my still warm kitten for no less than 5-10 minutes before he left our kitten again to go back to these people to chat again while we’re waiting anxiously worried sick in the next room crying our eyes out. As he’s chatting with these people, I come to the sick realization that our kitty is gone as why the only vet on deck tonight he happily chatting with the people next door while our cat is struggling to live...he wouldn’t be. Finally after 5-10 minutes of him chatting to the other people again in the room next to us, he comes in our room and says unfortunately our cat’s dead, nothing he could do. The funny thing is, he came in and said “she’s dead”.... OUR CAT IS A BOY. He was extremely unprofessional in how he told us, and honestly I’m not convinced he did enough to save my cat because although he was informed that a kitty was going to be arriving soon in need of immediate medical attention, and THEN the vet tech had to yell out for him, he STILL did not come help, this pregnant vet tech had to go get him, and then when he was with us telling us about our dead kitten, he couldn’t tell us anything about how our cat died, he didn’t even know the gender, which makes me curious if he even did a full examination. Immediately after telling us our cat was dead, he then rushed us and told us we had to choose options for body and paws, and as I cried saying my cat was just alive half an hour ago, the vet has no sympathy. As I cried over my kitten’s dead and warm body, this vet did nothing, and said nothing to console us and then forced us to select paw prints, and asked us what to do with his body immediately afterwards. To note, the vet technicians were amazing that night and amazingly sympathetic and kind to us all, however that vet was awful and makes me think there was more that could’ve been done to save my kitty. Rest In Peace Oreo. - Nicole Murray & Sean Robertson To note, the picture of our kitten on the pumpkin was our kitten an hour prior to arriving at the vet in perfect healthy condition, and the others are of our kitten after he passed.
Dr. Bowley, Diane and Staff were so caring and thoughtful. I had to bring my 20 year old cat in for an infected wound but due to his other critical conditions I had to lay him down. It was the hardest decision I had ever had to make. :(. Dr. Bowley and Diane were so kind, caring and patient with me. I can't recommend this vet enough. Thank you for helping me through this tough time. (also, thank you for the thoughtful sympathy card and kind words).
Always great care during urgent issues
Okay this may seem silly to give a 5 star review I never went in but they answered my call. It was about 9pm and my cats leg was swollen 3 times its size and she wasn't moving it and I called to see if they could squeeze her in because I thought she broke it. There was a very long wait because the surgical floor was being used for an emergency and it was an er situation of course. The woman was kind to me on the phone and let me know how long of a wait it would be and let me know the other emergency clinics in my area to see if they could help my Mabel quicker if I needed because it was clear just from a phone call I was really worried. She also reminded me that it was bee season (which I hadn't even though of and she was playing outside) and turns out that's all it was and the swelling went down in an hour. So even if I had made it to the vet clinic I would have still been waiting in the car when her swelling went down. Anyway god forbid if anything happens to my cat or dog I will definitely being going here if my vet is closed!
The staff and vets were patient and provided amazing care to my cat. He was there for two nights and they made me feel like I understood what was going on, took the time to explain thoroughly and answer all my questions. Diane is a super star, she always answers the phone and was so loving and caring. Whenever I called to check in on my baby she was there to reassure me all was well and tell me how sweet and loved he is. She made the whole experience much less scary and stressful. I found their prices very reasonable as well.
Helpful for when my dog discovered spicy squirrels!
Amazing service. Doctor was prompt and professional. Fixed my pup up! Hes almost all healed. Highly recommend. Thank you so much!!
Terrible response Basically no vet available I called all day .for an appt Terrible don't say you have an emergency, they don't care
Great experience!! Lisa is so warm and kind!
Spent two and a half hours waiting patiently as there were critical patients ahead of us. Was then told it after waiting all that time that we could either wait or go home and follow up with our regular vet in the morning as the injury my dog had wasn't serious and could wait. I really wish I was told this at the beginning and did not waste two and half hours. I'm not a vet and my dog seemed to be in a lot of pain, how was I supposed to know it could wait overnight until the next day? This being said, they were all very nice and I am sure do great things for the animals that are in crisis. My only complaint is to have been given the information before I waited so long.
Didn't even offer the meds that would have helped my cat survive. I found that vitamin k will detoxify the liver. I called and asked for vitamin k, told me to bring my cat back. She cannot travel, I was then told she should have been hospitalized. No compassion
The team was wonderful and responsive especially during COVID. Taking in my little dog with little dog syndrome. I couldn't enter due to COVID (which I appreciate makes me know they take the care of our fur babies seriously) but I could see through the window the receptionist /assistant holding him with care and compassion. They were super good at breaking down the process of what needs to be done. I appreciated that they allowed space for me to ask questions for next steps and were very open to discussing aftercare even late at night when I could tell from the parking lot they have a lot going on. thank you so much from both Me and my puppets Cooper
Great people.
Wonderful vets and staff, they were very quick at saving my dog's life last night. He's now home resting and will be back to his shenanigans by TM. Thank you so much for your skills and urgent care to my dog. I highly recommend this place
Limited staff very disappointed!!!
Took my rottie in a few nights ago after she had chased her ball into some brush at the back of the house and injured her mouth. Dr. Noorlander and the Team were all incredibly attentive and helpful. She can get quite nervous at the vet, but she was all smiles and wiggly once it was time to go. Thank you for your attention and taking such great care of my Marzipan.
These people really care ! Enough said.
Wonderful people there. Showed lots of heart when I came with Snoopy
We called about having our dog looked at and were told we had to sit in the car 3 to 5 hours. Our little one had hurt her leg and could not walk we weren’t sure what was going on and we felt this was emergency. She was in pain and very uncomfortable. To be told you have to sit in your car for 3 to 5 hours is absolutely ridiculous this is supposed to be in emergency veterinary Hospital. This is totally unacceptable and I will not recommend this hospital to anyone
Lovely staff!
Have twice done a compassionate and wonderful job looking after my cats.
Very knowledgeable very compassionate even sent me pictures of my puppers because I was missing him. Called me every 12 hours with updates and diagnosed him with addison's in time to save his life
Went in with a cat emergency (blocked intestine) on a long weekend. It was REALLY busy but staff and customers stayed patient, and we were dealt with professionally and with care. They did a great job with my now healing and recuperating cat.
Although it ended up being a heartbreaking night for my husband and I, we were very pleased with Dr. Schwaro (sorry if it's wrong) and her team, and how professional yet comforting when we took our fur baby in. She was very straight forward with us on how much treatment would be and whether or not it would fully work. We ended up having to make the most difficult decision we've ever faced and they were all very sympathetic and comforting while we said our goodbyes. We will forever be grateful for the way you all treated Leo in his last moments. Thank you!
Great service, fair price
Great service and prompt in an emergency!
Really lovely staff!! Had a pup with a possible obstruction and mild dehydration - called the clinic and Dianna and Dr. Lecki (sp?) were absolutely lovely to deal with. Took good care of our little girl, did not push anything and offered sound advice. I would definitely come back here if there is ever another emergency. Thanks!
It was extremely busy today, waited a long time but they very nice & sympathetic. Price was reasonable! I recommend this place.
Always kind and compassionate
Both the vet and the RVT took my concerns seriously, without over-dramatizing. Didn't push unnecessary tests or medication, and the services are fairly priced considering it's an emergency clinic. Worth the drive to Burlington.
Good Morning, I can't thank you enough for the care and love we received last evening when we had to say goodbye to Sami and comfort her as she crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Your staff was beyond exceptional, especially during this challenging time with COVID-19. It is never easy saying goodbye to our loved ones / family members but you were incredible. We know this is an emergency hospital and patients are triaged and looked after based on severity and YOU WERE BUSY, but we never felt left out in the dark or rushed. You gals truly ROCKED it last night and coming out to greet each patient with a smile behind those masks and love in your voice.
Took our sick dog there last night. They decided she wasn't enough of an emergency for them to care and wanted us to leave her in their kennel and sit in the car for 4-6 hours waiting for her to be seen (that's the estimate they gave us). We took her home so she could be with us in a soft bed and not their kennel alone. This morning we took her to our vet and she's gone now. I guess her pain just wasn't lucrative enough for them.
Excellent service looking after my dog.
This is the sort of business you hope to never need but truly glad that they exist. The vet and staff were really wonderful in caring for our Energizer Bunny of a dog who was limping and nursing one leg. Thorough, thoughtful and then they forward all information to our regular vet for his ongoing care.
I had to bring my puppy here because she ate a piece of plastic. This is a time sensitive emergency (they have to induce vomiting before the digestive process goes too far) and my closest emergency was at capacity and turned me away. As a loving dog mum I was understandably very worried and the staff were incredibly patient and understanding. Due to covid I had to just give them my pup at the door and go back to my car but they were sweet to her and made me feel as comfortable as possible with leaving her in their care. She was treated in a timely manner and following this I recieved a call from the vet herself explaining the outcome of the procedure, what to expect in the coming days, and how to best care for my pup after this type of issue. Of course it was pricey, but emergency care always is and frankly for me no dollar amount can be placed on my baby's wellness. When my dog came out she wasn't stressed or upset at all. It was obvious that they'd been gentle and kind to her. I would highly recommend this place if you're faced with a pet crisis as they provide great care!
I was referred to this place after many calls with 24 emergency clinics and I'm absolutely grateful. Heather (Receptionist) was very nice and patient with me. Lisa who take care of my cat, gave me the necessary tips and steps of what to do next. They're also very caring and affordable place to go! Definitely reccomended
They were very caring with my ill cat. They also do a very good job at keeping you informed on the treatment they're providing.
Friendly and informative staff. Everyone in PPE and practicing safe measures.
Cares about animals or cares about $...how horrible that $ means more than an animals life ..
I'm blessed with two very "special" dogs who seem to always have an issue late at night or on the weekends. Burlington Veterinary Emergency & Referral are always happy to help. All staff are super kind and caring and they're straight forward with you. They're really busy with the surge in pets coming in, but they handle it fairly and make sure the most important emergencies get handled first... that's what people have to understand here, it's not first come first serve. It depends on the cases so be prepared to wait without being rude about it. They're trying to help and deserve respect and understanding. Their rates seem to be in line with everywhere else, I'm surprised they don't actually charge more. Thanks for being available to help Burlington Veterinary Emergency & Referral.
Clear explanation and instructions on how to take medications for our cat.
Great staff..
Extremely caring and professional team. Thank you so much for saving our boy, Muffin!!
The staff, facility and care at Burlington Veterinary Emergency & Referral Hospital is first class. The experienced staff and sincere level of care they provide for their patients is a comfort to anyone dealing with a pet that is not feeling well. Having the ability to know your pet is monitored overnight and provided with constant treatment and assessment is a blessing that ensures a path toward speedy recovery. Thank you for looking after us and our dog.
We took our baby girl (Felix) here last week after we noticed she wasn’t able to use the litter properly. It was late, and we were stressed because we could tell how uncomfortable she was. They were amazing with her, and us. Felix doesn’t like going to the vet, and both Sarah and the woman working reception(the cat whisperer) were very friendly and gentle. I am happy to report that Booboo’s is feeling much better! Thank you so much for your patience! Also, the bill was less than we expected, especially for an after hours emergency vet!
Fantastic services when you're in need of emergency pet services. I highly recommend them
I came in on a weekend with my cat who was in gastro-distress and the staff were so helpful and compassionate. When I left, I felt very good about the plan we set in place, but was worried about remembering the details. Didn't need to worry. They sent me home with a typed out sheet of the decisions we made and why, and also the next steps I should be doing for my cat, and what to do if she's not getting better. Thank you Dr. Gregg and staff - you were all very kind and eased my nerves that day!
I have been a client of East Plains Animal Hospital over the last 10+ years for our fur family of 5. As Shar Pei owners, it’s important for us to have a vet team who can support their sometimes MANY problems. Whether it’s finding customized treatments for eye issues, skin issues, kidney disease, cancer, Shar Pei fever, never ending UTIs or abscesses - I can always trust the East Plains team to provide the most current treatment based on the most recent science. Because of East Plains and their whole team, my dogs have lived longer, healthier and more comfortable lives. The vet team is incredible, but I can’t write this review without acknowledging all the incredible staff at the front and vet techs as well. They are all absolutely incredible. I am so thankful for them, they all feel like an extension of our family. Whether it’s laughing alongside me or providing support when we have to make the devastating decision to help a pet over the rainbow bridge - you all have made every vet visit easier. If I could give a 100 stars I would. Thank you east plains ❤️
The staff here are straight-up heroes. Always kind and damn they work hard. A staff member, after her shift spent time making sure we we're taken care of. Absolutely, the best place to take your pets.
Customer service is everything. When we initially dropped off our dog we were told it might be up to an hour as there was a couple of dogs in front of ours but that the vet had looked at our dog and he was stable. Was then told to hang tight. Laura (I believe was her name) was extremely rude when asked 2 hours in for an emergency visit how our dog was doing. She called us liars, it was our fault and that we should expect to wait a minimum of 6-8 hours in the parking lots on a very hot day....with no updated to be expected. It's unfortunate, I love to support small business locally but poor customer service, lack of training and management are evident here. I will be looking for another emergency vet clinic that I can ensure will take care of my dog and a vet I would be happy to refer and recommend.
Our go-to Emerg Vet. Fantastic staff - vets are amazing. These folks actually do care about animals!! No slick up-sells here. Just a much of caring professionals.
The staff here are absolutely incredible! Our baby Raven spent 3 nights in a row here when we first got her; tail wagging each time we dropped her off. Doctor Lisa S. is our super hero. She was amazing at keeping us calm during a hard time, explained everything that she was going to do for Raven, and most importantly made Raven feel comfortable there. The staff fell in love with our baby girl instantly, and Lisa made sure we knew it! We know Raven is always going to be in safe hands if we ever have to bring her here again!
Helped us say goodbye to our very special friend, the staff made a horrible situation as good as it could of been.
Kind and compassionate support from everyone involved
They were so helpful and took care of my girl when she was sick! Highly recommended. Not just trying to take money from you, really care for the animals and what's best for them.
Spent my new year's day parked in the Vet parking lot for 7 hours today because my beloved senior furball had unexpectedly collapsed this morning. I immediately called this hospital, which I have never been to before, and was welcomed by comforting and caring souls. I was warned that it would be a 2-4 hour wait and was explained of the policies instructing me not to leave. These policies aren't the most ideal but understand that they are in place for the safety of our animals and staff. I am so pleased with the service, professionalism and level of compassion and generosity by all staff members here, particularly Dr. Dam who explained everything in detail, outlined my next steps and made referrals for more diagnostic tests to be done. I left the parking lot with a happy pooch and a very big smile on my face. The prices are extremely fair and reasonable and reflect a quality of care that is rarely seen in vet clinics/hospitals. Thank you for helping my little furball.
The doctors and staff there helped us get through what has been one of the worst nights of our lives. Our beautiful fur baby had to be put down due to his old age and pain from some health issues. Everyone was so patient and sympathetic to our situation. Never once rushing us and allowing us as much time as we needed to say our goodbyes. They arranged it so that we could be by Sprocket's side when he took his last breath and did everything they could do make this horrible situation go as smoothly as possible, even helping us with aftercare options. It is very evident that the staff love animals and genuinely hurt when they see families grieve. Thank you for taking Sprockets pain away and allowing us to be there and show our love right to the very end.
Worth the drive from Toronto! You hate having to go but I know we are in good hands here... Excellent care, great staff.
We found a puncture and a rip on the chest of our 200 lb. wolfhound at 11:30 on a Sunday night. Luckily, the clinic was quiet and the service was great. The receptionist was calm and easy to deal with and Dr. Amundsen cleaned and stitched the wound. We picked him up at 1:00 a.m. Monday, and he's back to normal. And, we heard from our vet, Dr. Anne on Monday afternoon, asking how everything was. This clinic sends reports to your vet. Thank you Burlington Veterinary Emergency Hospital
I have had to use their services twice and both times we have been treated with such loving care that I wish this office could be our permanent vet. Very knowledgeable ,compassionate and extremely fair prices .
excellent place
Very knowledgeable.
The team working there are exceptionally professional, helpful and caring. We had an emergency as our cat was not doing well and they took her in right away. The female individual at the front desk and Dr. Pottins was extremely kind and helped us along every step of the way. It was also very considerate of them to send us a card and even though it is a simple piece of paper it goes a long way for our family as Crystal was our first pet who was a legitimate part of our family. Thank you for everything.
Very Professional and caring staff!
Good
On such a horrible day for our family the woman working here helped us through one of the hardest days, they are very comforting at a time of loss. Thank you
We have had two experiences here and in both cases the staff was very helpful, caring and friendly. Given the fact that both were after hour emergencies we were pleasantly surprised the bills were reasonably priced.
Very responsive and compassionate staff and Dr. The entire team went above and beyond when our baby girl Marley recently passed away. Thank you!!
Diane the lady speaking with us on the phone was absolutely lovely. Even though she was in full PPE gear her vibes were pure enough to have our dog, a pomchi who is very moody with strangers, calmly follow her in. Then we spoke with Lesa, the doctor looking after our little old fella. Again, nothing but kindness and professionalism which I am so beyond grateful for specially during a scary situation for our family. Thank you to everyone who we couldn’t see for taking the best care of our dog to make him healthy again.
Quick diagnosis..treat the issue without adding unnecessary test / blood work. Fair and reasonable cost even for an emergency. Doctor and technician, receptionist were 10 out of 10.
I took my dog in for an exray because he had fallen down the stairs and we wanted to make sure he didn't break or fracture a bone, They took him in right away and kept me informed while he was in the clinic. They asked me if it was okay to go ahead with the exrays and that they would have to sedate him and approximately how much it would cost. They told us it was okay to go home and they would call when he was ready to be picked up. Dr Lisa Schwartz was amazing, very knowledgeable and professional. If my dog ever needed emergency care again I wouldn't hesitate to bring him there. Thank you to the staff and Dr Schwartz for looking after our dog Zakk!! Marianne Elias
Very nice place
I couldn't begin to say how grateful we are to all the staff that were there when we brought Yogi in to see them. Everyone that evening was fantastic.
Last week we had to take our 8 month old pup here. The staff and vets were nothing but compassionate, helpful, professional and knowledgeable. Our pup was with them for 2 days and nights and we were provided timely updates. When we called for updates, they were very professional and patient with us. Thank you so much to all the staff for taking care of our furry family member.
They were very caring and my dog gizmo got better in two days...I thought I was losing him yet a huge turn around on his health and he is with me.
Some of the best veterinary care we have ever received. Everyone was friendly, knowledgeable and communicative. They told me how to move my seizing dog safely to get him to the hospital and took wonderful care of him once we got there. They explained everything thoroughly, were cooperative and wonderful.
So understanding!!! Very reasonable emergency service pricing... thank you again for your wonderful service and tact.
First time leaving a review but need to do it after having such a great experience here. Got referred by my regular vet to bring my Doberman puppy here during an emergency situation. Staff was absolutely wonderful and caring in all ways imaginable. Felt like my puppy was in great hands and they were extremely attentive to answering my several calls throughout the night for updates on his situation. Even got a call around 1am for an update on my puppy from the vet herself. Thank you Burlington Pet Hospital for making one of the scariest days of my life (as a dog mom) so much easier... your team is fantastic and the efforts do not go unnoticed. 1000% recommend this place to anyone seeking overnight emergency care for their fur baby.
Very poor service. Did not do what was asked of them but they gladly took the $$ for something I have been doing at home. They ran no tests, did not do a thorough job checking out my pet, and they are not very knowledgeable. They told me to follow up with a vet the next day. The problem is vets are all booked solid and we had no choice but to go to the emergency but they proved to be an utter waste of time.
I went here after my dog got bitten by another dog to get him checked out and they refused to look at my dog even though he was bleeding at the neck. They said they were closing soon. What kind of emergency vet clinic closes at 8am. Anyone that cares about animals would not turn away a bleeding dog. This is despicable. The people working today should find a new career if the dont want to help injured animals. I have never been so pissed off at a company meant to do a good service. Thank you to the place down the street for fixing him up.
A long wait. But very happy with communication. Staph look like they were taking very good care of animals as a came and went.
The staff and care is excellent!
The staff and doctors at this hospital are beyond words amazing. Our sweet girl lost her eye on Christmas Eve and they dealt with us (as we were panicked) and her in the most kind and compassionate way. I will be telling eveyone I know that this hospital is wonderful. It's been 3 days since our babies surgery and she is doing wonderful!!!!!!
Thank you to Burlington Veterinary Emergency & Referral Hospital for taking such good care of our sweet kitty, Marko, over the busy Easter weekend! We were very impressed with their clear, frequent, and reassuring communication. Even though they were swamped, they were very thorough with their assessment. They were patient and kind with us while communicating everything calmly over the phone due to Covid-19 protocol. They sent our pretty boy home with detailed and typed information and instructions for follow up. We highly reccomended this place if you are looking for somewhere safe and professional to take your beloved pet. No complaints whatsoever from this happy family.
Our cat had an emergency at night and they said to bring him right in when I called. They started working on him right away and were very compassionate and knowledgeable. They got him sorted out and reassured us that he would be okay. Would definitely return to this hospital if ever necessary and would highly recommend them to anyone needing emergency care!
Amazing people . Made max and I feel reassured
Wonderful staff,
Staff was absolutely amazing! I was hysterical and they took care of my dog in a very calm professional manner while calming me in the process! Told me everything I needed to know and assured me he would be ok overnight and called exactly when they said they would to let me know I could pick him up. I even got a refund upon picking him up because they didn't need to use as much meds as they thought they would. So happy with my experience with them!
As I read all the positive reviews I somehow thought I had gone to the wrong place. I was prepared to wait however long it took. We came back from our vacation early to see this vet. I will never recommend this hospital to anyone. We took our dog there because we thought he was in pain from his back???? After examining and making sure that a $200. blood test was ok with us. Only to find out all was good but no mention of an ex ray that could have found the problem. We were sent home with anti inflammatory and pain killers. What I thought was pain because of his panting was actually him gasping for air. When we finally got to see our own vet . Ex rays were done. Our dog was diagnosed with an enlarged heart and liver. Something that should have been detected by the vets at the emergency clinic had they done ex rays. Could’ve had him on the proper medication. I see now that dollar signs is what they see. Shame on you all for putting $$$$$$ ahead of your patients. Never again.
Care & service is good if you have an appointment, if you have an unforeseen emergency good luck. Note: this seems to be the case with all Vets in Burlington, Oakville and Hamilton especially on the weekends.
They were fantastic and taken in my dog when he was sick and nobody else would And I love with the updates all the time they were great thank you very much
Our dog was having seizures and we brought her here on new years day. They took her in right away and were so caring and attentive. They made us feel at ease knowing our dog is in good hands. They went above and beyond to take care of our dog and even gave us a refund at the end! I cannot express how thankful we are for everyone there who helped our little baby get back on her feet. Thank you ❤️
Very welcoming helpful and quick My dog was pronounced dead and vet was caŕeing .No charge
Absolutely loved Dr. Gonsalves-Hubers D.V.M!!! Going in I didn't know what I would end up spending but I knew what treatments I wanted for my pup. She recommended everything I was thinking and I wasn't charged an over the top price, even though the exam fee for emergency was $100. (lol) I would definitely recommend this clinic again and again, especially if that is the veterinarian that is working.
Can I give this place zero stars, because that's what it deserves. Just called about our cat that is laboring and having a hard time breathing and they told us that we have to wait in the parking lot for 4-6 hours. When I tried to talk to them about leaving the cat to make sure that she gets the best care and that we have to go home because it's past midnight and we can't sit in a parking lot for that long, we were told "too bad" that's the policy. Really?!? Considering what is happening in the world, how about some compassion and flexibility in your policies? The same policy that says we have to wait outside for 4-6 hours is the same reason we can't miss a day of work and potentially lose our jobs. When I said I guess we'll just watch our cat die at home, the person on the phone said, "I guess so." That broke my heart. In a time where we need to be supporting each other and coming together, this is the attitude this animal hospital has? I talked to two different people and it was pretty much the same thing, so this is a most likely a company wide philosophy. They better pray our cat doesn't die, because the amount of compassion they will be shown will be equal in quantity and quality to the amount they afforded us. Believe it!
Dr. Bowley and staff were wonderful this past Friday as we brought in our very old kitty (18-1/2) to be euthanized. They were respectful of our wishes and extremely caring to our cat. I've had both good and bad experiences in the past at end of life services with other vets. The staff at Burlington Veterinary Emergency & Referral Hospital were wonderful during a very difficult time. Thank you so very much for the peaceful and quick passing of our "old man".
Unfortunately our pet didn't make it,but the staff and vet were awesome. I couldn't ask for better people. They were caring and compassionate in our time of need. A great place to go when you have an emergency.
The Vets there are compassionate
Brought kitten I had adopted from the Burlington Humane Society to this hospital that became very sick approx 8 hours after receiving her first set of shots. The vet on duty told me they would have to keep her in over night and gave me a quote of $2500 which included tests/ blood work / hydration and board. I wasn't in a position to pay that much at the time, so they told me my only option was to release the kitten back to Burlington Humane Society, so that she should would receive treatment and that even if she got better i wouldn't be able to readopt her. But at a shot of saving her life I agreed. I was in tears; leaving I asked the receptionist could i call tomorrow for an update and was told they wouldn't release any information to me about the kitten as I no longer owned it. As you can imagine this broke my heart, can you imagine being this cruel? The following morning, I had a friend contact the Humane Society for an update as I couldn't bring myself to do it. They informed us that the Hospital put the kitten down that morning. The kitten had a fatal disease called Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), which is an immune system disorder common to the Aids virus. Which is common to show it self after receiving inoculations. Our family vet said it should have been obvious to the vet on call based on the devastating reaction to the inoculation. Not only was this malpractice but an attempt to extort $2500, but worst of all they robbed me her final hours. Only to put her down hours later, disgusting practice.
24-hour Service @ 3AM Staff was wonderful and professional! great job
Our dog was attacked by another on a Sunday afternoon. These guys were amazing in making him and us feel so much better and way more affordable than we were expecting under the circumstances. Can't recommend enough.
Great emerg care, wonderful caring staff and vets, all at fair costs. We've taken our pups here a few times now on evenings and weekends when things have gone wrong - porcupine encounters, upset tummies and big gashes.
We rushed our kitty lynxy into the this place two nights ago and they were very helpful! Very caring vets!!
Dr Schwarz was fantastic. Really grateful to have had her treat my sick cat
Reasonably priced and very caring staff. Took my cat in for a burnt paw. They told me the estimated wait time was 2-4 hours. They took him in, examined him, and had him back to us in less than 2 hours. The exam cost $100, and with some antibiotics (to prevent infection of the wound on his paw) everything came to $180. The vet was very thorough and informative. He took temperature readings at different areas. He spent a good amount of time chatting with us about the injury and how best to treat it. Despite being an emergency clinic, we didn't feel like we were being rushed out at all. Professional, thorough, and reasonably priced.
Excellent service. Nice you can't get to your regular veterinary. This is a great back up.
My boyfriend called in Saturday as our 17 and a half year old cat Chevy has been having very shallow breathing. They said bring him in. They did everything they could. Gave him oxygen and meds to clear lung congestion/fluid. Unfortunately he was in congestive heart failure and we had to say goodbye to our friend. We are heartbroken. The team was wonderful, sensitive and for that we will be forever grateful, Bruce and Sarah.
Dr. Camilia Amundsen will kill your pet if you get her as the vet. Incompetent, greedy, dishonest. If you end up going here and she's the vet on call I beg you to find somewhere else to take your pet. Trust me you will regret it if you stick with her. She should not be practicing anywhere. She does not care if your pet dies and she has no idea what she is doing. For the sake of your loved animal and their life, keep them away from this very incompetent vet.
They took amazing care of my dog. We took her there in bad shape and after a day in a half we have our dog back to normal. They are so understanding with the amount of calls from worried owners.
The staff were very attentive, knowledgeable and friendly when I went in with my terrified, injured dog. The clinic is easy to get to and clean and tidy. Very impressed with how quick the service was and how well they treated my dog and me. Highly recommend.
Vet and Staff are so nice. Take their time to make sure you understand what’s happening and are onboard with what they want to do.
This having been our first experience taking our dog to the emergency vet, I wasn't quite sure what to expect but the staff at BVERH are professional, knowledgeable, thorough and compassionate! Sure wait times can be very long but that's at no fault of the hospital, it really depends on the number of patients in the queue. Hoping I won't need a reason to return in the future but if I ever did, I trust that our dog is under amazing care!
Very kind and efficient people
So impressed with this clinic! I rushed in with my kitten who had eaten chocolate covered raisins (which can cause kidney failure!), and the entire team worked smoothly and efficiently to treat my kitten. They gave her an injection to make her throw up the raisins, and it worked! She is now back home resting. Thank you Dr. Gregg and the BVERH team - you guys are fantastic!
Excellent experience
Great doctor and also the other lady there was super nice. Def reccomend them.
Great after hours vet Super staff.
The ultrasound machine was broken and they didn’t even tell us when we first called in. Just wanted us to check in so they can charge us
Very professional
Solid emergency care. Very time oriented
Took my dog in and he had bloat, they did emergency surgery and kept me informed about his progress. He was there for a few days and everyone was just wonderful.
They took our dog in after she got a bug gash in her side while playing in the forest. Great care, even if they seemed overwhelmed that day. The price was affordable for what was done and care was good. Our girl was all stitched and stapled and getting back to herself. Thank you!
Staff was very compassionate and caring
Called And spoke with Diane. She kept interrupting me. My dog is not doing well and I simply just wanted to talk to the Dr about what to do before deciding to bring the dog in for his final goodbye. However she made this very unpleasant saying the only option is to bring the dog in to speak to the vet. I would have paid money to speak with them verbally. Giving covid there should be another option. Bringing the dog in would bring so much anxiety and stress. It is not an option unless youthanizatiion was confirmed as our last hope. Diane was terrible at showing any compassion and kept interrupting me .... she wasn’t even taking the time to understand the situation. I hope this review reaches her and she can change her response for others going through a similar difficult time.
24 hour service! This hospital is incredibly patient and really know how to deal with distressed customers! My dog was throwing up blood and I was in a terrible panic before even reaching the vet! They took us in very quickly and did an examination and blood test. They assured me it wasn’t anything life threatening and I was able to calm down. Very grateful for my experience here and the way my dog and I were treated! My family showed up soon after I had arrived an of course everyone was so scared an very sad. The staff did an amazing job of talking to my kids! Thank you. Highly recommend this business!
Thank you Dr. Stephanie Dam for helping our sick little cat Buster. You gave us all the details of his condition to help make an informed decision. He was treated with kindness and respect until the end. We will always be grateful for that. Covid has changed so many things we couldn't get a vet after moving and could see so many people were in the same situation. This hospital didn't hesitate to help which made the wait time long. Though no wait is too long for our beloved pet. We wish you and all the staff the best in your future. Time for the tears and the grieving to begin for us. Sylvia and Rick
Amazinggly sympathetic and empathetic. Thank you!!
The Vet was gentle and took her time
Crazy long wait times and they misdiagnosed our Dog. However, long wait times is the new norm with all the covid puppies purchased. And the specialist who came up with the proper diagnosis said that she could have easily came to the same error given the symptoms and behaviors our dog was exhibiting.
Compassionate, knowledgeable staff. They were great with my crazy husky. I was concerned regarding COVID restrictions and not being able to go in but they kept in contact with me the entire time. They addressed all my concerns. I am extremely pleased and would definitely make the drive again if needed. (3 1/2hrs from NY)
This place was awesome. My dog was transferred from our vet for overnight observation they sent me pics of her and when I called they talked to me and filled me in on all the details. My girl is home and happy and healthy once again.
The staff and vet were fantastic. The female vet we had for our baby Rocky was great. She took the time to explain things to us and kept us updated. Our baby was in rough shape when we got there and got worse overnight to the point we nearly lost him, he was on deaths door all started with massive hives and then a chain reaction inside his little body. He barely a blood pressure reading when they took it, his heartbeat was faster, he damaged part of his liver and so on. Their care and continuous monitoring of him saved his life. They were kind and gentle with him as he was scared as well. Rocky is recovering slowly on a few meds and watching him closely but, he's doing well so far now and on his way back to his normal crazy self. I pray I never experience something like this again but if ever in need of a vet after hours I would come back here❤
Great clinic, great staff and doctors. Our emergency visit was fantastic
Dr. Gregg is a wonderful, caring vet. I'm so glad they were available to assist my dog and I during our time of need. Thank you so much.
Great service (even during a pandemic), professional, and friendly. Only wish they were open 24/7.
Thank you for saving our precious cat's life. It's an expensive service of course, it was expected, but the clinic refunded unused meds without us having to ask, they were honest, upfront. The vet we got could improve on his bedside manner, but regardless he saved a very important life to us so we are just extremely grateful.
Great people that work there and so is the service. They truly care about your pet and I cannot say enough good things about this place. Thank you so much for looking after my cat.
Lisa Schwarz D.V.M is the best. She went above and beyond to save Medusa's life. We are very grateful. Thank you very much from the bottom of our hearts.
Staff we fantastic, unfortunately due to Covid19 restrictions, had to wait outside, but otherwise awesome ???? ????????????
Open during off hours. Caring staff.
After having a couple of days to gather my thoughts, I felt it necessary to write a review about the wonderful, amazing, caring staff at the emergency clinic. I rushed there Thursday morning with my kitten Mufass who was having cardiac issues. I got there in time for them to heart 2 heart beats and then he was gone. It was obvious to me that this wasn't just another animal to them, I could tell they cared. They did everything they could. They cleaned him up and let me say my final good bye to him. I am so very grateful that they were there and that they tried. I feel horrible that we were the last animal seen that day since I came in right before close. They let me take my time I didn't feel rushed and I felt they cared. If ever you have an emergency with your beloved pet, go here, don't waste time going anywhere else. I wish I had known they were there, if I had then the outcome might of been different for my Mufasa. Again, thank you everyone there. You truly are an amazing team and thank you for all your hard work.
Not impressed . Again staff was nice but they failed to send a report to Neilson clinic as they said they will I was lucky to bring a copy myself but once went to Neilson clinic the veterinarian said they failed as they could not even measure the size of my cat injury. NOT impressed at all so far
So helpful and caring. Thank you
They were great took care of our cat thank you
Very friendly. Helped our cat, didn't have to wait long for him to be seen
Great staff. Very understanding and compationate
We brought our cat here for an early eve emergency and spent hours and hours here ..on the floor.. waiting for forward motion but the wasted time was pathetic. Money grab.. could have saved us time too. Do yourselves a favour, GO DIRECTLY TO OVC Guelph(small animal) or Mississauga Oakville Veterinary Emergency Hospital. There's only 2!! CUT OUT the middle men! On top of having a sick pet, this other family dropped off a sick animal they found, left then called back to see if wifey lost her wallet somewhere at this clinic(NO). Her husband and son back to harass/accuse me of stealing trophy wife's wallet! SEARCHED my truck too! They wouldn't leave me alone kept harassing me! I called the cops.. even the staff here didn't help me!! B%$&h called her husband back and said she found the wallet at home and they left. No apologies! 2k here..32k at Guelph OVC. FU
After calling 7 other vet offices they were able to take our senior cat Cosmo in while he was in medical distress. He was struggling to breathe and we were devastated. As soon as we arrived Julie rushed to the car and scooped his carrier up and ran him in to see the vet. Sadly Cosmo passed and we had no idea what to do. The clinci allowed us some time to gain composure before going through the next steps. We are thankful that Cosmo was in their care for his last moments. The staff was amazing. Thank you again Julie for being there in our time of need.
Very expensive...$100 just to see the vet!
Had an emergency with my dog. They looked after him like he was part of their family as well. Great service.
Rushed my 14lb dachshund in on Tuesday evening after he got into some chocolate and had a feast. He had eaten what was very much a lethal dose - thanks to the speedy intervention by Dr. Websdale and the team, he is still with us, snoring gently next to me. From Diane doing intake and keeping me calm and sane, to Dr. Websdale going through all the details of his treatment plan with me, answering all my questions, and making me laugh when describing the "Exorcist-level" of puke coming out of my small dog after they administered the emetic, which helped to counter some of my panic, to discharge the next morning, the entire team is amazing, and clearly truly care about the animals the see. They began treatment right away, and admitted him for overnight observation about 3 hours later. I am so grateful to the whole team at BVERH - THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SAVING MY BOY MEYER!!
Terrible service didn’t care for our dog at all, we sat for 90 mins and didn’t even see the vet. We left and won’t return.
Staff was very courteous/polite was quick to get our furbaby in had to wait for a few hours but they were extremely busy. Vet called after the exam and was very thorough with explaining the diagnosis and treatment. Will definitely go back as the price was very reasonable for an emergency visit.
Excellent care we were so happy with the service we received. Would recommend to everyone and would definitely use again. Thank you for looking after our puppy.
October 11 2020 / my baby Rosie was wonderfully cared for by all at the hospital before her passing. Without their kind and compassionate words, this decision would have been much more difficult. Many thanks to everyone that Sunday afternoon for making her life as best as possible. I won't forget you.
From my first phone call to the last interaction, I was treated with professionalism, compassion, and respect by every staff member and doctor that I talked to when my cat, Nate, was at BVE&RH in the last week. I received regular updates and I was offered options for treatment. I was confident that Nate was receiving the best care at all times. I hope you don't have to take your pet to an emergency vet clinic, but if you ever do, I strongly recommend Burlington Veterinary Emergency & Referral Hospital.
Available 24 hours but prepare to pay ridiculous prices.
Wonderful experience. Amazing staff. Highly recommend!
